Description: It's Vacation Time and Aranha decides to drag his team mates to Korea along for the ride. Well that and cheer him on in his fight against Chae Lim. The fight between the Capoeirista and the TKD practitioner see-saws back and forth until only one is the winner. (Winner: Aranha)
Along the Nakdong river in Pusan several vast plain and sand islands have formed, right at the point of meeting the south sea. This place is the Nakdong Estuary - a place designated in 1966 as the Precious National Treasure No. 179, due to it being a large habitat for migratory birds. It is also a rather large tourist attraction and one of the places of interest in the Pusan area, which makes it a great place for cameras to be set up upon the islands. Not only will these cameras be likely to catch quite a few odd species of bird, but they shall also bear witness to a match sponsored by the Neo League.
And so it is, that at about mid-day, just as the sun is creating a bright sparkle on the nearby waters, that the Korean girl known for her abilities in Tae Kwon Do appears. Thanks to the rather warm weather, she forgoes wearing her gi in favor of kick-boxing pants and a sportsbra. There it is, that she begins her warm-up while waiting for her opponent to appear - it's been too long since she's participated in the Neo League and she's no doubt they'll pair her against someone that will provide a decent challenge.
And Aranha arrives soon after, in a similar type of outfit. To reflect the temperature he's wearing a black tank top and white pants. The usual style of outfit with two subtle differences. First, he's not wearing his indoor soccer shoes opting to go barefoot with calloused feet which are probably the only unscarred part of his body. The second is the fact that he's wearing a black bandana with a white spider web motif.
As the capoeirista waits for the fight to begin he glances outside of the fighting area as he looks to see if his team mates arrive. After all he did invite them to this match and did promise them dinner. For one it was a chance for his team mate to see him in action. For the other it was out of hope that she could say something to light a fire under his ass.
When Rylee was told something on the lines of 'lets go on a vacation' she didn't really expect Korea to be the destination. Nor did she realize it was to satiate Aranha's urge to have fight for the Neo League. Said league isn't such a bad idea, but it still hasn't struck the Canadian's interest enough to get her to sign up for it as well. Why bother with it when she gets to already travel when she feels like it? She can just tag along whenever Aranha decides to go.
The warm weather is something she was not ready to deal with so much. Of course it also looks like Tiffany decided to tag along as well which was a bit of an annoyance to Rylee as well. Team mates they may be, but it still seems like the Canadian hasn't adjusted to the rather spry blonde wanding with the group so combined with the weather she doesn't look to be in the best of moods. Decked out in a fishnet tanktop and jeans she stands not far from where the fight is going to be idly finishing off the last of a cigarette, her half lidded gaze surveying the area and then falling on Aranha's opponent. "She doesn't look so tough." she mumbles under her breath before dropping the butt of her cig to the ground and stepping on it. "Kick her ass, Aranha!"
Tiffany : is dressed in blue shorts and a white bikini top adorned with... ahem... artfully placed blue stars. A red dewwrap keeps her hair up and back, and... for whatever reason, she covers her eyes with... of all things, a red-white-and-blue tie-dyed Zorro's mask. She beams brightly, patting a begloved hand against her hip, "It's good to have a use for this outfit before, like, summer's over!"
She hefts her other mitt up in the air to to a do a surprisingly bicep-bulging arm pump, "Show us your true strength, Ara!" Well, perhaps it's not so surprising, to the people who've been roundhoused by the bodacious blonde boxer!
One would think the Tae Kwon Do artist would be upset that no one has come to cheer her on, but instead she simply finished up her warm-up routine and advances toward the area where the fight is to take place. A friendly smile is offered first to her opponents friends, and then to her opponent before she makes a proper bow at him. Aranha, they called him, so that must be his name.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Coming up out of the bow, Chae Lim settles her doe brown eyes upon his face. "I do hope that I will provide you with as much of a challenge as I am certain you will provide me." Win or lose that is what she enjoys the most - the challenge.
Aranha returns the bow with an extremely relaxed smile on his face. After that bow, he pulls a pair of Oakley Thumps out of his pocket. "We'll never know until the dance begins. Right?" With that, the Dancing Spider slips on his mp3 sunglasses and turns it on pumping music into his ears.
The effect seems almost energizing as he begins to dance, swaying in ginga before to show he's ready and that's when the official gives the word to begin.
The Capoeirista bursts into motion with an acrobatic tumbling pass to quickly close the distance before suddenly taking to the air. The kick never comes. At least not from the air. Instead, the capoeirista suddenly spins upon landing on the ground and pushing out with a side kick to the stomach.

The amazon raises her hands in the air over her head to clap once it looks like business is finally ready to pick up and even if Aranha probably can't hear her she gives a whistle. Not like she would want to break his concentration at this point. She knows how he is once he gets into the groove of the music. She gets the same way once the adrenaline starts pumping when she is in the middle of a fight throwing people around like a ragdoll.
That and cheering him on also helps distract herself from the rather odd outfit that Tiffany decided to wear that is just drawing alot of stares from the other people gathered around the place to watch the fight. They were probably expecting the blonde to be the one fighting given what she is in. Rylee has learned not to ask what really makes Tiffany think that such things are a good idea. Instead she just chalks it up to her being American and nothing more. "Hell yeah! That is the way to do it!"
Settling into her defensive stance, the Korean girl nods for Aranha to begin. Begin he does, impaling her stomach with his bare foot. Chae Lim goes sliding back along the sand, particles kicking up at either side of her. The force of the kick drops her into a backward fall, which she barely corrects in order to turn it into more of a tumble that sees her kip-upping to her feet.
"Nice kick! Good rhythm!" She smiles at him again, then rushes back along the sands to where he waits. Her right foot lashes out with a roundhouse kick aimed for his shins, "YA!" A second comes quickly after, angled a little higher this time at his thigh. "YAA!" Completing the cascade of kicks comes yet another roundhouse sent quickly toward his stomach. "HIYAAAAH!"

Tiffany springs high up in the air almost unconsciously, her cleated shoes leaving the turf before she realizes she's doing it, launching her fist up in the air, "Alright!" she calls out, with inordinate amount of pep, "Float like a hummingbird, sting like a... a..." she pauses as she lands... then grins brightly, "Like a tarantula!"
Her cheerleader training seems to be taking over, and it's hard for the girl to keep her feet on the ground, "Give her your friendly Neighborhood Spider-punch!"
Aranha came out of the gates with a combination of trickery, and aggression and it seems as though he got a lot more milage out of that aggression than he first would've suspected he would. Aranha doesn't pounce on her right away though, wanting to see what information he gather off of the Korean.
"Heh. Thanks." He doesn't have time to say much more since Chae Lim is coming back with a kick combo in return. The first kick is met with a raised shin to deflect the attack before he is tagged in the thigh with the second kick although he manages to spin with it. The roundhouse however is dealt with in the most interesting way. He drops his body downward as he raises his forearm to catch the roundhouse on it though like the second kick, he moves with it moving to touch the ground with both hands which provide additional stability for the remaining grounded leg as he lashes out with heel towards Chae Lim's head.
His response to Tiffany? "Punch? Uh.... Capoeirista..." Slap, backhand, elbow, headbutt. Those are suitable. Actual punches. Not so much.

Tiffany pauses in her bounciness, slightly taken aback, "Oh. Um. Well.. Spider-capo... capo... capoees... capoeirista's kind of a mouthful." she plays with a flip of her hair slightly, looking mildly sheepish, "Cheerwise, I mean. Spider-kick, maybe?" she offers.
Chae Lim's head is definitely not in the way of that heel. She may not be like some who are vain and paranoid about injuring their looks, but she still doesn't like the feeling of feet against her skull - something she's quite used to from training. Ducking under his foot, he comes up around the other side of it and sends another smile at Aranha. He moves quickly, which means she will have to be careful with how she handles his movements.
Someone mentions punching, and though she's not a boxer and doesn't usually go about swinging her fists, her grin broadens. She may not punch, but she can definitely bring her hands into play! A quick chop is sent down toward the side of his neck. Nothing special or spectacular about it, just a very standard move.

The redhead just turns to glance at Tiffany for a long few moments and she lets out a low sigh as she looks away. "I wonder if I was ever that bad when I was a teen." she murmurs mostly to herself before letting her attention return to the fight at hand. Chae Lim ends up looking much more skilled than Rylee had initially thought. Aranha still looks to have the upper hand for the most part, but maybe this girl might give him a run for his money.
"Come on and stop slacking! I know you can do better, Aranha." she calls out to chide her friend while raising a long leg upwards and kicking at the air a few times. "Give her a few of the high and quick ones. She won't know what hit her!" She settles back down on both feet and then tsks lightly while grinning. If he loses he may never hear the end of it at dinner.
Aranha doesn't make contact with his heel kick due to Chae Lim's own speed and he's also quick to rise up to look his opponent in the eye. He doesn't have much time to listen to his team mates but just before the chop comes down on his neck he gains a pearl from Rylee.
Quick high ones? He has a few that qualify but he picks one that seems not only the most interesting to him but also the most appropriate. He takes the chop to the neck full on but he uses the momentum generated by the chop to enhance the speed of the cartwheel like motion he uses to get himself into a handstand and from said handstand, he begins lashing out with a series of handstand kicks on the Korean's head.

Tiffany rolls her eyes, noticing Rylee's disdainful stare. She pauses a beat, about to utter a snide retort she's sure she deserves to get in, even if she didn't quite catch what the tall woman muttered.
She pauses when Rylee kicks high and jeers encouragingly at her friend. She notes the other woman's broad grin, and can't help smiling herself, giving a soft giggle. Maybe Rylee has a sense of fun after all.
Her eyes widen suddenly, at Aranha's unexpected handstand barrage, "Killer..." she breathes out, impressed.
Now that is a move she doesn't see quite every day. The cartwheel-turned-handstand has the Korean girl peering at him curiously. Right up until he pummels the side of her head with a barrage of kicks.
As previously stated, she's not exactly thrilled with head kicks thanks to the many hours of training she's endured.
"Aaaugh..."
Finally managing to get back a few steps and out of the way of his legs, she laughs. It's a somewhat pained laugh, but the joy is still there in her voice. "You really are a great challenge!" But Chae Lim is not about to allow such a decent challenge to defeat her just yet. Lashing her hands forward, she reaches for the waist of his white pants and goes to hoist him up over her hip in a quick hip toss.

Because Aranha was still in that handstand, he attempt to figure out a way for him to stall for time until he could actually get out of it and into a reasonable, defensible position. What Aranha wanted to do was to twist with the hip toss as he wrapped his legs around her hips and then fall on his own terms as he uses the leg scissors to put the tae kwon do practioner down on her back.
What happens in reality is Aranha's hands are pulled free from gravity's hold on them only to feel gravity's embrace on his caramel colored kiester. And yes, it stings just a little bit.
Even still, the capoeirista is all smiles as he gets back to his feet. "Well I did want to get out of that handstand... Just not quite like that."
His comment makes the Korean girl giggle, even as she settles back into her defensive stance. "But we cannot always choose how we get out of something," she says, allowing him the second or two needed to return to his feet. Once he rights himself again, she's on the move.
Leaping upward, Chae Lim aims her feet toward his neck. She is not intending on kicking him, but rather get her legs around him so that she's hanging parallel to the ground. Managing to secure the odd grasp, she flips from her face-up position, to a face-down position then releases him in order to flip him away from her.

And as Chae Lim leaps up, Aranha dives to the side letting her legs fall past him as he reaches out for the ground so that he falls at an angle. The result, Aranha finds himself balancing the weight of his body on one elbow placed right under his rib cage while he's tilted so that his head is less than an inch off the ground in what looks to be a break dancer pose.
From there he snaps a foot down on her body before he pushes himself to his feet. He wanted to get out of that position as soon as possible. Lots of capoeiristas have been known to hurt themselves from holding that position for too long.
"True." He says finally responding to her own comment about not always being able to choose. Well he was able to choose that time which was something he hadn't been able to do in a few of his fights.

With the toss being missed completely, she flips herself to the ground and then crouches while watching him recover. He definitely seems to be able to move rather swiftly, causing the Korean girl's eyes to twinkle. She'd wager that they're pretty evenly matched, and had he not caught her so off-guard so early on that this would be showing a little better.
As his foot snaps out at her, she drops to the side rolling to avoid it. Sprining up to her feet, she shoots off a relatively quick thrust kick at his center in the hopes of knocking the rhythmic man off balance.

As that foot goes to his center, the capoeirista drops his body low and to the side as aggressively steps forward causing the foot to connect with his shoulder instead of his abdomen and slightly blunting the attack before he shows that he can use his upper body as well.
Not giving the Korean a chance to recover, he whips a pair of elbows at her before swiftly dropping low and pulling the non kicking leg from under her before she can even draw back her kick.
After dropping her, the capoeirista makes a quick hop away to give himself some room and prevent himself from getting a sudden reprisal before he can ready himself.
Dropping to the ground when her balance is taken from her, the Korean girl grits her teeth. It is becoming increasingly obvious that she should be taking this fight a lot more seriously. As she kip-ups to her feet, birds seem to spring into the air at the same time. Anywhere else, it might seem extremely majestic. Here at the estuary, it is more the norm than anything else.
Leaping at him, she spins around to shoot her foot out toward his stomach. Feet landing upon the sand, she sends three roundhouses quickly toward his shin and thigh. Two more quick snap-kicks are thrown out then, followed by another chop, until she finally winds it all up with a vertical kick driven toward the base of his chin. Each swift movement is accompanied by a 'yah' or a 'hiyah' to accentuate it.

Tiffany :bounces back and forth from cleated sneaker to sneaker, and resists the urge to do a backflip or wave the pom-poms she doesnn't currently have. She works her way around it by giving in to her boxing reflexes, bobbing and weaving, bringing her arms up into a guard, and throwing jabs at the empty air, "Come on, Ara... keep moving, keep moving... don't let her press you!
Aranha's fear... Okay. That's not quite accurate. Aranha's healthy respect for the possibility of reprisal was well founded. The moment that she kip-ups, Aranha is put on guard. But as he's found out in many of his previous fights, expecting something doesn't always mean you're prepared for it.
Can see based on the Korean's footwork that she's putting significant effort in putting the hurt on him and he knows that he doesn't want to feel what's coming next and so he attempts to rock away from the kick to the stomach but he starts his motion just a little too late and from there, he finds himself being pelted with kick after kick, culminating in a vertical kick that sends him flying away from her.
"Damn." He slowly gets to his feet and rubs his chin, while the rest of the attack hurt, it was the shot to the chin that made the biggest impact.
Far be it from Aranha not to answer in turn. Aranha has another attack that could be considered as Rylee put it, a 'high and quick one.'
Aranha lashes out with a blue glowing house kick and uses the momentum from the first kick to power his spinning jump kick which also has a similar glow, letting the momentum carry him to the point where his back is turned to the other fighter(he is looking under his arms to keep her in eyesight) and then flipping backwards finish with blue chi engulfed kick using the back flip to drive his foot down on the Korean's head once more.

Once more, the capoerista sends his foot toward her head, but this time it seems the foot is hidden within a sheathe of energy. Chae Lim can respect that, as she has a move that is quite similar. Thus, she knows that she should get out of the way of the foot or risk being in pain. Kicking herself around to the side of him, the Korean girl takes note of where he lands.
Then she spins back around, reversing her direction so that she faces him once more. Her knee chambers high, and seconds before she lashes outward with it, a wind-like energy surrounds her foot and she whisks it through the air in order to impact with Aranha's midsection.

Aranha was actually quite confident in his ability to move himself out of the way of that particular attack. Instead, Aranha finds that it advances his agenda just a bit more to stay in close and not run from the attack. As a result, Aranha's forearm moves into the way as he rocks away from the attack.
But when he rocks away, he eventually has to rock back to deliver his own attack in the form of an outside crescent kick to slap Chae Lim in the face with his foot. Afterwards though, he's going to take a moment to shake out his hand. That kick hurt a lot for an attack that he blocked.

There will be no slapping of faces with feet - at least not against the Korean girl. Chae Lim drops her body backward in order to avoid the foot, allowing it to skim over her and whiff against the air. She could have perhaps sent a kick of her own out to intercept it, but avoiding it altogether seemed more prudent. From this particular position, there are very few things she can do in order to keep the fight going.
Using her hands to support her weight, she leans back on them as though about to kip-up again. Instead of merely springing back up to her feet, she launches herself into the air. As she gains height, her feet kick outward and her body drops back in a sort of modified dropkick. Not precisely a TKD move, but she's taking the advice of a friend and trying to adapt to the situation.

Aranha had something else in mind when he launched into that outside crescent kick. However Chae Lim doesn't quite handle it the way the capoeirista had expected her to and so he has to change his strategy on the fly. Her modified drop kick comes flying at him and the capoeirista dances around it with a spin that once again has his back facing towards her.
That's when Aranha shows that capoeira isn't his only influence. He leaps up into the air launching himself into what looks to be a moonsault only he changes the delivery at the last possible moment to instead drive his knee down on her body.

Appearances can be deceiving, and while Chae Lim actually has had the wind knocked out of her, the Korean girl lays there a little while longer in order to bide her time. Two reasons for this. The first is that she really just wants to catch her breath so that she's able to get up and fight. The other is that she's fought with a wrestler enough to know that it can be quite amusing to wait until the last possible second to make your move, especially when someone is coming in with something akin to a moonsault.
Which is why her hands come up just before the knee is to be driven down into her stomach, so that they can push him off course. Given enough time to get back to her feet, she slips back into stance and gives him a second to recover. The very moment he begins to lift up, she leaps at him with an alarmingly fast vertical kick. "AIYAH!"

Aranha is pushed off of her through unconventional means and as a result he has to use an unconventional recovery planting both of his hands down, he goes into something akin to a round off which places him in position to face her.
It is a good thing too because that vertical kick comes in faster than he has seen most attacks go. It takes reflexes that the capoeirista never even knew that he had in order to bring a hand up in order to take the brunt out of the kick before he lashes out with what begins as a glowing blue chi outside crescent kick which is then followed by more and more spinning kicks, roundhouses, spinning back heels, spinning side kicks. Suddenly he whirls in the other direction as he delivers more and more kicks attempting to drown his opponent in a tornado of feet and chi.
There's a short respite before he then tilts into a handstand and whirls around as he kicks out at the Korean with a finale of chi foot strikes.

Something can be said about Capoeira and Tae Kwon Do - both lend themselves to extremely powerful foot maneuvers. The energy around his foot is noted, its bright blue color reflected in a pool of water not too far away. The Korean girl attempts to simply not be there when it begins to fly toward her in the form of a kick, but a miscalculation in her footing has her being hit.
"Aaaaaiiiiieeeee!!"
Not just hit, but literally pummeled by the barrage of kicks, her body only just recovering from one attack when the next one is lashed out at her. She doesn't just slide along the sand this time, she continues past the edge of the island, plopping down into the water. The depth is not extremely deep, but it is more than deep enough to soak everything but her hair.
The warmth of the day does little to keep her warm, and as she holds her ribs and checks for injury she draws herself out of the river. Hands settle to her knees once she lands upon shore, her breaths coming in short gasps. Allowing herself just a few seconds recovery, Chae Lim advances on him once more. Dashing across the little island with as much speed as she's able to build up, she thrusts her palms out at him attempting to land a solid palm heel strike.

Aranha doesn't even move out of the way of the palm strike this time. In the interest of finishing out the fight, Aranha attempts to hold his ground. Unfortunately he doesn't quite set his foot properly and finds himself stumbling backwards before he manages to regain his footing.
He knows that what happens next will be the deciding blow, he carefully steps back in before attempting to give the Korean a Capoeira Kiss or a kick to mouth. Hoping that it's speed and his foot position is good enough.

He made her bleed. His sandy foot crashes against her lips, splitting the bottom one open and sliding her back hard enough that she nearly lands on her rear. Chae Lim doesn't become enraged by it, she becomes shocked. He made her bleed, and all she can do is stare at him with monstrously huge, doe brown eyes, giving him a look that just screams 'what did you do that for!?'.
So shocked is the Korean girl that it takes her a moment or two to recover.
When she does, she wipes the blood from her lips and begins to spin around. Several quick roundhouses are shot out in his direction, two quick chops, spin kicks, hook kicks, snap kicks. The bleeding. It wasn't something Aranha really thought about in fighting world. Between the fighting pits, brawls, fight hustling, even when learning as he received Capoeira kisses of his own. The bleeding just happened that way. It was so much part of fighting he never thought about it.
That's part of the reason that Aranha is so struck by the look on her face. Of course he kind of gets the reason for the look wrong believing it to be about the placement of kick rather than blood so he raises an eyebrow. That's when the kicks come.
Part of his evasion comes from preparation, part from natural speed, and part of it from the fatigue of his opponent setting in. Aranha weaves to and fro bobbing and weaving like a boxer in a desperate attempt to move away from all of the blows. When that final vertical kick comes though, Aranha is ready for it as he performs a back handspring to pull himself out of the range of the kick. "Man. What a fight."
