Alexis - Misleading Academic Dilemma

Description: It's a normal day at Pacific High, until a rather expensive looking vehicle pulls up and a rather prim and proper girl carrying a parasol appears. An offer is made by the student body president of Seijyun, and the gymnast is faced with a choice: take a tour against her better judgment, or snub the girl who worked hard to put the Miss Teen Southtown pageant together.

Not long ago Seijyun has recieved a mystery visit from a Pacific Student. Would today be the day that Seijyun returns the favor? Well, yes and no, Yurika Kirishima doesn't intend to sneak about like a ninja to find a certain individual. In fact it's the exact opposite as the musician's arrival is considerably more extravagant.

A rather fancy looking and expensive car pulls up to the front of Pacific grounds, though that's perhaps nothing out of the norm, and the driver quickly slips around to open the passengers door.. Out steps the silver-haired council president clad in her usual frilled, light blue and white Seijyun uniform, parasol in one hand and folders of some sort in the other. "It would have been a wiser decision to call first to make sure she's here but.. It's a nice day to be out anyway," the elegent student murmurs to herself as she walks calmly along the school grounds. Her intent is to head to the principles office to see if an overhead call could be arranged, which would hopefully make up for her poor planning.

As luck would have it, Alexis is wandering around the outside of the school. The main reason for this is that there is some big thing going on in her usual training area -- the athletics field. Her trainer has already located a building in which they can set up for the soon to come cooler weather, and thus she's about to head over and decorate it.
It may seem silly to want to decorate an abandoned building to look something more like a gymnasts dream area, but it gives her something to do and it keeps her out of trouble.
If it weren't for the fact she was carrying two very large boxes stacked atop one another as she comes around the building. They are very much hindering her sight as she follows the path outside the front of the school, so while she can hear people walking by she can't see them.
"'scuse me, pardon me!"

Well now that's .. Different! Unaware of what kinds of activities would be going on at this campus, she does believe it's a little early for students to be moving into dorms. On the other hand it doesn't look like the girl in question is headed toward the dorms either. Luckily, Yurika doesn't need a face to recognize one she's seen before, the voice is more than enough to bring a small smile to the pale students lips.
She turns in the direction of the voice and makes a casual stride to catch up, giving a gentle, "Ah, excuse me.. Miss LeCoeur? I do not mean to interrupt but.. Would it be any trouble to ask for a moment of your time?" It's somewhat apparent she wouldn't mind walking along the way, and she doesn't seem very curious about the boxes contents, despite them looking a little heavy.

"Yeek!"
Though Alexis is extremely startled when someone talks to her by name, she manages to juggle the boxes and get them set on the ground before they fall out of her hands and spill all over the place. Everything stays within the confines of the boxes except a bright blue ribbon that flies up into the sky and falls atop the gymnast's head.
"A moment of my ti--" The voice isn't as recognizable as all that, but she recognizes the girl at least. "Oh! Uhm.. Miss..." Ohsnap! What was her last name? Sweatdropping, Alexis exhales a tiny sigh, but smiles despite. "Miss Yurika! How can I help you?"

Yurika's dark eyes widen a touch to Alexis' startled response, and cringes in anticipation of everything just crashing down to the ground. Luckily, such a thing doesn't happen and the student's relaxed smile returns once more. "I apologize about that, I didn't mean to sneak upon you like that.. And Miss Yurika," a slight pause, "Is perfectly acceptable, I didn't think anyone would remember so I'm quite flattered, believe me."
"Before I begin, I wanted to congratulate you for your stunning victory in the pageant.. I was very very impressed by what I had seen, and was hopeing I may get a chance to meet you in person." Yurika closes her parasol, tucking it under her arm as she opens one of the creme color folders and proceeds to flip a few pages over. It's difficult to see what kind of information is even there without really peeking. "You're academicly impressive as well, I had noticed. It seems like a waste, really.."

Alexis blinks a few times, a small blush rushing to her cheeks. She is a mess when it comes to last names, but at least propriety is something that was ingrained to her from an early age! Perhaps if she wasn't busy juggling boxes, she might even have offered a small curtsey. As it is, she carefully removes the ribbon from the top of her head and focuses on quietly folding it as she listens to the congratulations.
"Oh! Oh, thank you. It was really quite a bit of fun." Despite her sparring opponent being a slightly poisonous snake. "H-how do you know what my academics are like?" She's guessing Yurika means grades (or perhaps at least hoping that this is the case).

It'd make sense that Alexis doesn't know the musician's last name, she simply doesn't give it out. Not even to larger scale events, simply going by 'Miss Yurika' if one wants to be formal about it. Why this is the case may be a bit of a mystery, but it may be clear that Yurika simply doesn't mind at all, especially since she makes no strides to 'correct' the Pacific student. She knows all about Alexis' match of course, but of course would avoid mentioning that if possible herself. "I'm very pleased to hear that, I was hoping all the participants would have an enjoyable time.. Ah, of course, I suppose I should tell a bit more about myself, should I not?" Yurika then says, looking a tad embarassed herself.

Though that doesn't last long as gives a small curtsey of her own, "I wasn't just the judge of the pageant as you might already have guessed.. I'm also the council president of the Seijyun student body. It isn't very difficult to obtain such information from a position such as that when given the proper reasons. And, well, I'd like to believe that my reason was a good one, you see.."
"I believe that this environment doesn't make the most of what you have to offer. In fact, I think that staying on Pacific grounds would only hold you back from a future that you deserve."

Pageants should be fun! People lose sight of that in all the competition, just like in fighting Alexis figures. Once that competitive bug strikes, you start striving to be the best and getting upset when you lose. 'course, that doesn't mean she's ever /happy/ about losing, but she's been trying to take it more in stride lately. "Oh! Well I'm certain everyone had fun!" And if not, well that's there problem right?
"The council president of Sei--" Alexis blinks at that information, but guesses it's not that far of a leap. She'd have to be something important to have coordinated a cross-school pageant. "W-wait... what?" Hold her back from her future? But it's a good school and...
Glancing around she begins to nudge the boxes over to the side of the school, toward a bench. Glancing over her shoulder, she motions for Yurika to follow her. Once she reaches the bench, she sits down. "I have been at Pacific for a long time. What makes you think that staying here would be a detriment to me?"

Yurika wasn't entirely happy with the pageants result itself, but what was important was that the others had fun.. There would be a lot more positives to running another she believes, but that's another story entirely. The musician draws the folder to a close and her expression shifts to that of very mild confusion, as if seeming surprised that Alexis didn't seem to agree with her right away! And naturally she follows after the blonde.
"Yes, that's correct. If you wish for some sort of proof of my position, I could certainly provide it.." Yurika offers, as she's then taking a seat to join the student and sets the folders on her lap, re-opening the parasol to shield herself from the sun. ".. It's so hot out," she murmurs to herself, but then looks to the gymnast once more, "Oh yes I know, one thing I have learned about this pageant is that I should be paying attention to schools other than my own, there are quite a few jems out there. But to provide details of what would be a detriment for you, well, that is a little difficult to explain without showing you what Seijyun has to offer you. What I can tell you, however, is that you're being misled into believing that Pacific is the best place for someone of your talent, background, and potential. I will not, however, claim that I know you inside and out, we both know that isn't true, but I can see things that the casual observer cannot ever hope to see."

Alexis doesn't usually readily agree with anyone. More to the point, she's a bit of a free-thinker, which is why she's not really blabbed about the pageant to her parents yet -- there's fighting in it, and her mother would kill her if she knew. "No need! I totally believe who you say you are, Miss Yurika. You do carry yourself like someone of importance within the school." Offering a smile, she nudges at the boxes a little and then folds her hands in her lap.
She's not quite certain, but it seems almost fishy that Seijyun would send anyone from their student council to recruit her. Rather than allow her suspicions to sway her though, she does listen to what the other girl is saying. "Misled?" By whom, she would have to wonder. "Are you proposing that I come on a tour of your academic establishment, Miss Yurika?"

Yurika gives a light giggle to Alexis' first comment, "You know, I get that quite often.. I'm not entirely sure why." Which isn't the truth, but she prefers to come off as humble, rather than pandering to the usual 'snobby girl' stereotype that floats around now and then. What she can tell from Alexis' expression, the girl keeps to herself, and continues from that point.
"Yes, misled. Not on purpose, perhaps, as no school wants to believe that what one school has to offer is better than their own. But if one looks closely enough, they could easily see where most high schools fall flat when compared to another. And you are correct, that is exactly what I'm proposing to you, Miss LaCoeur." Yurika doesn't even give the slightest glance to the boxes, in fact she seems almost unusually focused on the gymnast before her. "I understand you've probably grown attached to this establishment. You've probably made many friends and feel comfortable here. It wouldn't be a simple decision, but I believe once you take a look, and understand what we can provide for you, well.. There may be little doubt where your future is best secure."

The focus on her is a little unnerving, but something Alexis has grown quite used to. Oh, not from Yurika, but when in competitions being looked at is a given. Her head drifts slowly, tilting to one side. Lips press together for a moment. A tour would not hurt anything, she doesn't figure, but in the end the decision before her isn't hers to make, but that of what suits her parents and where they believe she is best suited to.
"O-oh! Well, I've only recently transferred to the Pacific High School, here. I attended one elsewhere before," though she offers no indication as to where. If Yurika has her school records, she already knows all of this anyhow. "I believe that touring your establishment will hurt nothing, even if I choose to stay with this... er... uhh... more mediocre? school."

That isn't something Yurika isn't aware of; she doesn't know for certain of most Pacific students come here of their choosing, or if it's a decision made by their parents. But in the end, neither situation matters and in theory it'd be easier to deal with ones parents than the student themselves. She'd cross that bridge when she gets there.
But when Pacific is referred to as mediocre, Yurika can't help but giggle in amusement, giving a small shake of her head, "Oh dear, it seems I haven't made the best first impression with my words, have I? While I confess I'm not overly fond of how many things at Pacific are handled, what I think is still my own personal opinion. I wasn't aware the transfer was recent, however, but it isn't an uncommon situation with most Pacific students from what I understand. That is, having attended elsewhere."
"But I'm pleased to hear you'd be willing to give it a chance, I would be providing the tour myself of course. With the school year not yet started I'd have plenty of time to do so, otherwise I'm fairly heavily burdened with work. Oh, and one last thing.." Yurika murmurs, her free, white gloved hand raises to tap her lower lip. "Please forgive me for asking something so personal but it is a bit important, and would stay between you and I.. Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Sometimes our words get the better of us," Alexis answers evenly, though she's still displaying a smile. Needless to say, though she tries to be diplomatic she often lets her words get the better of her. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, after all."
The gymnast fidgets a little at the last question, her cheeks heating up a great deal. "A... boyfriend? Well..." How does one answer that when nothing is set in stone? "Well, no? I mean... not /exactly/." Pause. "Why?"

"You're absolutely correct," Yurika starts, nodding in agreement, "I'm quite passionate about what I do even though I may not appear as.. Energetic as the hostess." The musician refers to Wanda, likely someone anyone would have a difficult time forgetting. She appears to have made Alexis uncomfortable though, but Yurika continues to grace her company with her mysterious little smile, while shaking her head. "I suppose I could clarify that at another time though. I apologize, perhaps I should have stated the reasoning behind the question first. You see, boys are simply not allowed on campus, and serious relations with them are actually a bit frowned upon by administration. If it had turned out you did have one, I'd have to provide the proper cover-ups so that they wouldn't find out provided he doesn't do anything foolish."
And so with that Yurika gathers the folders back in her free arm and stands up, turning as she may continue to keep eye contact. "That said, it was a pleasure to meet you Miss LaCoeur, and I must apologize for taking more time than we agreed upon. But before I depart, when might you be available to meet?"

Cover things up? Alexis wrinkles her brow momentarily, and nods. Well, looks like she's going to have some research to do on Seijyun once she's done setting up the new little gymnasium her trainer acquired. "O-oh... well I guess that makes sense, y'know, if it's a school policy and all..." She fidgets again, and just /knows/ her mother will absolutely eat this school up then.
But she's careful not to sigh. "It was a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Yurika." Looking down at the boxes, the gymnast nips her teeth against her lower lip. "I... well I have a bit of training to see to this weekend, big competition coming up soon." Pause. "I should be able to get some free time early next week."

The most important thing here was to gain Alexis' intruige. That's usually the toughest part of dealing with someone comfortable with their living style, she knows that from personal experience. However she really can't tell if it's positive or negative thoughts that are going through the gymnasts head at that moment. Regardless, her smile never slips, and she gives an approving nod to the blonde. "Oh my, I see.. Well I'm delighted to hear that it would be so soon, then. Please then, feel free to meet me at the Seijyun gates on Tuesday, at one p.m.. And best of luck with the competition, though from what I've seen you wouldn't need it."
Instead of a curtsey, Yurika gives a bow to dismiss herself, "Have a plesent day." And with that she turns around, to make her way back to the waiting vehicle.

"Tuesday, one pee-em." Alexis nods in agreement. "Great. I'll see you then." She pauses again, and before Yurika can get away she manages, "Is there a specific dress code?" She already figures showing up in her Pacific uniform will likely be a no-no, but it's likely best to ask.
"Oh! Thank you for the wish of luck. I plan on doing my best, as it's one of the more important competitions this year." It's no Olympics, but it /is/ another hurdle she has to leap if she ever hopes of getting a chance at them!

"Oh yes, of course," Yurika says, coming to a stop. She actually seems to need a moment to consider her answer.. A Pacific uniform obviously could prove problematic for both parties involved, after all. However a visitor wouldn't have a very strict dress code either, technically. However, whatever she does decide to choose will tell a more about Alexis' personality and judgement. Eventually she glances over her shoulder, parasol turning as well, "You may wear whatever you wish, you're just visiting after all."
Yurika is confident the 'correct' decision would be made, however. "I wish I could say I could attend, I'm afraid I have my own competitions to prepare for myself. I'll be sure to read up about it, however." And she continues onward.
