Description: So, it seems that Xiaoping Wing thinks she's good enough to come to Gedo High and take out the school's boss, Daigo. Except... Daigo's not really around to take her on, and instead she meets the leader of the Guardian Kings, Tenma Kiryuu. What happens when two arrogant loudmouths clash? Something epic, that's what.
The time has come.
Pimpin' ain't easy, and never has that truism been so obvious as in the life of one Xiaoping Wing. Just as she was beginning to gather a few impressed followers through her antics at Justice, the oft-disbelieved rumor that she defeated Kurow in a one-on-one match at the girl's dormitory, and her well-recorded (by security cameras) defeat of that yo-yo wielding punk in a cookware store, Wing lost everything in an upset -- at least, that's what she calls it -- at the hands of the nefarious Keith 'Probably Wears His Sunglasses at Night' Mason, or 'Aranha' as is his actual nickname. Publically humiliated, she lost most of her cred by gambling too much, and too many of her legitimate achievements, such as defeating that /actual/ Chinese gangster, have gone unregonized. It does not occur to Wing that said legitimate achievements are somewhat belied by her totally illegitimate attitude towards life. It certainly does not occur to her that pretty much all of this is in her head, her very idea of 'cred' a cooked up fantasy that has barely any application in a school like Justice. Where she is headed now is a place a little closer to her imaginings, although not quite-- but that is not why she is going there.
No, Wing is convinced that while that yo-yo character was small fry, the place from whence he originated contains much bigger fish, fish that if she hooked, as it were, she would definitely acquire some notoriety in the school circuit. She has done some research; yeah, don't look /too/ surprised. She has learned of the conflicts that once both tore apart and then united the rival schools of Southtown, and she has learned of some of the heroes of that day, and of those who proved themselves the strongest. She learned more of Gedo's particular reputation -- many from people who stammered out what they knew of the history as she shook them upside-down to make the change fall out of their pockets -- and of the scarred young man who was undisputed champion of the place: one Daigo Kazama. And now she knows precisely what she must do.
"I'll beat Daigo!"
He can't be any tougher than Kurow, right?
She says this, fists clenched at her sides and grinning toothily up at the edifices around her, having made her way discreetly into the school's courtyard. The flames of great ambition burn within her eyes, defying her own diminutive frame. Truly, within her is the soul of a Caesar, determined to conquer everything she lays her eyes upon.
"Heh heh heh... perfect. Nobody's here."
Now, if only she possessed his strategic mind as well.
Caesar probably would have realized it's a Saturday afternoon.
Of course, Saturdays are half-days in Japan, but this is Gedo, and a lot of people simply haven't bothered to show up, let alone stay after noon. Wing is going to be frustrated in her attempt, no doubt, but the fact is that she's already getting a little impatient. She doesn't have any real plan for infiltrating the school itself and finding the person she's looking for. She just figures he'll, you know, come to her. Drawn by her imposing aura. Or whatever ruckus she's making.
Yeah, a ruckus is probably more likely.
But for now, Wing is able to keep her peace, such as it is, and scans whatever students she sees for someone who looks like they might pose a challenge...
Yeah, it's a Saturday afternoon, so things aren't particularly crowded... But still, there ARE students around. Many of the Gedo Gang members have their assigned duties, and some of the school's students actually do make it a point of attending their classes, loitering around afterwards for whatever reason. And there are still other students whose entire social lives basically revolve around Gedo, and pretty much don't have anywhere else to go.
But what sort of student is going to step up to the challenge presented by Wing?!
You see, there's a hierarchy at Gedo High, and it especially applies to who the students go running to when a threat appears. At the top, of course, you have Daigo Kazama, but he's not here. Then, usually, you get down to his lieutenants, like Gan or Edge... Who are also not here. Failing that, there's always Acacia Gillespie... Who is ALSO not here. This brings us a bit further down the list, to another student who has risen above the common run of Gedites.
"Sorry," calls a voice, strident and slightly accented, echoing across the courtyard. "But the boss doesn't bother with small fries." And the source of this voice? A tall, lean young man, carrying two things: One, a long cloth-wrapped bundle, slanted against his shoulder. And the other, some kind of... Ornamental belt, slung over his /other/ shoulder. Closer inspection would reveal that this is, in fact, the Saturday Night Fight Contender's Belt, and if you combine this with the young man's tied back black hair, his dark blue eyes and the wide, toothy smirk on his face, it can only be one person.
Tenma Kiryuu.
"So why don'tcha just run along then, huh?" Tenma suggests, rather dismissively. "This ain't someplace a boy your age should be hangin' out anyway. Go try the playground or somethin'." The other students on the scene, well, largely get out of Tenma's way as he speaks, decidedly not wanting to be between the Guardian King and this mysterious interloper from THE STREETS.
"What!?"
Wing, in a rare moment, actually does not look insulted by someone else's comments toward her. She actually just looks baffled. For a moment, she regards Tenma with a certain kind of shocked awe. Is it his demeanor? Is it his belt? Is she having second thoughts?
"How did you know what I was thinking!?"
There is a long silence.
"Wait a minute," the questionably feminine street fighter says as she leans in a bit, stuffing her small hands into the front pockets of her Sean John hoodie, "is that one of those SNF belts? Ha ha ha ha!" Perhaps surprisingly, she leans back and laughs; it's a pleasant sound itself, but the tone she takes immediately afterward is decidedly nasty. "You're one of those /tournament/ pussies. I thought the kids here were legit." Withdrawing a hand, she jabs a finger towards Tenma imperiously, tilting her head back in a gesture that would be more intimidating if she didn't have to do it anyway to meet a much taller person's gaze, and leering as leerily as a young woman can. "What kind of gimp shows off something like that? Che!" Wing spits derisively to her side. "In /real/ life, people don't fight like they do on TV, you ponytailed douchebag."
It's clear to her that he's not going to bring his boss, but even if it wasn't, she'd be getting pissed off in any case. "People like you piss me off!" she shouts, in case that weren't already clear. The fire in her eyes is now decidedly directed toward him, and she continues to work herself up, the relaxed attitude of her previous insults quickly dissipating. "You don't know the first thing about real fighting, so show some damn respect!"
Snarling now, Wing reaches down and grasps the bottom of her hoodie, pulling up and over her head and tossing it onto a nearby bench, revealing a tank top that is not nearly as baggy as the hoodie or the jeans she's wearing but still doesn't manage to provide all /that/ much evidence that she's not what Tenma says she is. She seems to have missed that one, though, but perhaps only because the rest is so effectively infuriating her. "I'll bring Daigo out when I smash you to a /pulp/!" the intruder screams, and as her fists clench by her side, a wind begins to whip up around her, uprooting tufts of grass and gathering dust. Those who have backed off previously begin to back off a little more.
"The legend killer, the Queen of the Streets, WING XIAOPING!" she announces as the wind rises to a howl, her little arms trembling and straining with the force that she has gathered-- before she thrusts her fists out and unleashes it as a mighty and direct blast, bringing gathered debris with it and aiming to tear Tenma right off his feet.
"KNEEL BEFORE ME!"
This, Wing figures, will be more than enough to take /this/ poser out, and bring out the real deal.

"...You were talking out loud," Tenma says flatly, in response to Wing's inquiry. Sound carries pretty well in the mostly empty courtyard, it's got good acoustics! But this isn't the time or the place for debates like that, is it? Because it soon becomes clear that this crazy person has violence on their mind, and to be quite honest Tenma isn't one to object to that sort of thing. No, instead he watches with a sort of patronising curiousity as Wing strips off her hoodie and tosses it aside, calling... Somewhat into question whether she is in fact a boy or not.
Also, for once Wing is in agreement with most of the world: Tenma Kiryuu pisses a LOT of people off.
The sudden blast of force is rather a surprise, as Tenma wasn't figuring this 'real fighter' had any unusual talents. He tries to get out of the way, but can't manage it, instead getting blasted back by the flying debris, netting him a few cuts in the process. For a moment, Tenma just sort of stares at Wing with hooded eyes.
And then his mouth pulls into a wide, unpleasant grin. He casually tosses his title belt to the nearest other Gedo student, who fumbles to catch the damn thing, but Tenma's already put that out of his mind. Instead, he busies himself unwrapping the bundle that was previously resting against his shoulder; a long wooden practice sword, slightly curved and single edged. And then he puts his first two fingers in his mouth and feels around, pulling them back out wet with blood, painting a red stripe down the blade of his bokken in his own blood. What follows is a single sweep of that weapon through the air, which sets it alight with a smoky, blood-red aura.
"Well," Tenma muses, "I hope your insurance is paid up." And then, quite abruptly, he rushes forward, crossing the distance between himself and Wing at top speed, both hands on the hilt of his bokken as he raises it overhead, intent on bringing it down in a vicious diagonal slash across Wing's rather unendowed torso. At the 'bottom' of the slash, he reverses the blade suddenly, and swings back up to make a narrow V-shape. "GRAAAH!!"

"Huh?"
First off, he doesn't fall down. That's a little surprising to Wing. But second is his reaction, because that, unlike everything else she's noticed about Tenma, seems legit. He /grins/. That's what /she/ would do. And if that wasn't enough to make her re-evaluate the young man's character, the streak he makes along the side of his wooden blade makes her shudder slightly, her narrowed eyes suddenly widening.
"What the hell--"
But it's a little late for second thoughts, Wing Xiaoping, because Tenma is charging forward with startling speed. "Ghh!" Hastily she attempts to erect some defenses, her palm snaking out in a practiced effort to parry the oncoming heavy strike, demonstrating at least that she's more than just a brawler. But not more /enough/, clearly, because the power behind the strike crushes through her attempt at block and cleaves its way into her chest. "Kyaaahhh!" Even as the second half of the attack cuts through, what remains unfrazzled by pain of Wing's conscious mind curses her one true shame: her tendency to emit piercing, girlish squeals when struck unexpectedly.
Someday, she swears, she'll get over that.
But tough-girl grunts are a way's away yet, and Wing has more pressing concerns now, if she would only admit it. Knocked onto her back by the ferocious attack, she quickly and nimbly rolls backward, and without sparing a moment to acknowledge the young man's strength she lunges forward, snarling again. It is with a certain unusual grace that she weaves forward and leans back as though to lash out with a quick sweeping kick to catch Tenma on the knee-- and it is with a berserk unbridled force that she reveals this is a feint, and instead throws herself forward in an attempt to slam her forehead directly into the bridge of Tenma's nose.
"GET SOME, PUNK!"
But will he, or she?

Tenma 0/-------/--=====|=======\=------\1 Wing
There's a faint snort from Tenma, which soon turns into, well... Laughter. "Ha ha ha ha! Are you for real?" the Gedo swordsman wonders, disbelievingly. This self-described 'Queen of the Streets', who admittedly proved she can hit pretty hard, shrieked like some pampered Seijyun princess. It's just too rich! The laughter almost keeps Tenma's attention focused away from where it should be, but he deftly moves from the feinting sweep, only realising what it is at the last moment, so when Wing's forehead comes in...
She instead hits her forehead against the hard, chi-emanating wood of Tenma's bokken, held and braced with both hands, absorbing the brunt of the impact. "So when you said you were the 'Queen of the Streets', what's that, like... You're a twenty-/five/ dollar hooker?" Tenma wonders, his lazy tone belying the brief numbness that runs through his arms. "I bet you're popular with the lolicon crowd at least, huh?" Stepping in, Tenma twists around, whipping his bokken out in a sudden slash aimed right at the side of Wing's neck... It's probably a good thing he's not using a real sword!

Tenma 0/-------/-======|=======\===----\1 Wing
"Tch!"
Wing does not seem fazed in the slightest by slamming her forehead into Tenma's sword. You can decide for yourself whether or not that is to her credit.
"Shut up, asshole!" she shouts, even more infuriated -- for it seems that is indeed possible -- at his mocking laughter, a flush creeping to her cheeks. It's just fatigue, though. Wait, no, it's not that he could /tire/ her, it's just-- look, shut up! "Don't mock the queen! I own these streets, and I'll pave them with /you/!"
She spent a lot of time hanging out in back alleys thinking up that one, so she doesn't have much of a defense against what Tenma suggests; still, she has enough respect to laugh it off, even as the battle continues. "You wish, sucker," she cackles. "Even if you /had/ the money, it's a law in my queendom not to sleep with guys who have disgusting hair. Not that you /will/ have even that much, once I jack you /and/ your shit!" Her voice rises as she continues, but she pauses for a moment before continuing a bit more thoughtfully. "Hmm... maybe I should do you a favor and cut that off, too."
Is she talking about his hair!? We will never know, because that is when, despite Wing's best efforts to seize advantage of the time in which Tenma twists around, his sword hits her in the damn neck. "Aargrhgh," is the closest approximation of her follow-up, as she flails backward and collapses again on her butt, coughing and reaching up to massage her throat. But she doesn't stop glaring, and when she rolls to her feet again it's clear she's just looking for another opportunity to strike.
"Lolicon, huh," she mutters. "Takes one to know one."
Recovery makes her a bit more subdued.
Yeah, that's pretty satisfying, hitting some girl right in the neck. Tenma actually takes a step or two back to control the space between himself and Wing, smirking as he rests his bokken against his shoulder again, his other hand at his side, thumb hooked into his uniform pants pocket. "Wishful thinking, huh?" the Gedo swordsman says, leering down at Wing. "Sorry, I prefer girls who actually look like girls... But hey, I'm sure you'll find somebody desperate enough eventually." So, sure, he lets her get back up to her feet, waiting patiently...
In fact, he too is waiting for the right opportunity to strike again, looking for an opening... But he couches it behind apparent inactivity, projecting lazy arrogance from every pore of his being as he stands there, like a lion on a hill. "And if you want to talk about other people's hair... Maybe y'oughta wash yours, once in a while." Probably a baseless insult, but from what Tenma knows about girls, ONE CALCULATED TO HIT WHERE IT HURTS.
COMBATSYS: Tenma focuses on his next action.

Tenma 0/-------/-======|=======\===----\1 Wing
You know what? Wing may have met her match.
Tenma may be just as much of an asshole as she is.
But she's not about to admit that he's as good of a /fighter/ as she is, and she plans on proving otherwise. As always when she feels herself losing the momentum in a fight, though this too she will never admit, memories descend upon her. Her stupid parents, leaving her to her grandfather. Her stupid grandfather, mocking her weakness, her ineptitude with his chi-based style, exhorting her onward unceasingly. She came here to get stronger; no, to prove her strength, to prove herself better than everyone else, like she knows she is, like no one else will seem to believe. She can't lose this fight. She's got to go back and kick her grandfather's ass, like she wasn't able to do last time.
This punk is /dead/.
"You're /DEAD/!" is her only response, trembling with fury as she dashes forward toward her apparently lazy opponent. Her instincts tell her he's not quite so unready as he appears, so even as she rushes him, the nature of her attack is actually a little more careful, a little less heedless than before; she relies on all that training, her body shifting, her palms warping through the hair in an effort to confuse Tenma's defenses. But her ferocity is unmasked, and when she /does/ strike, a vengeful attack as she slams a fist knuckles-first towards the young man's throat, aiming to choke him like he ought to be choked, she does it with every ounce of power she has behind it.
"SUCK ON THIS!"
Because, damn it, she won't be sucking this time.
...look, just... just shut up!
COMBATSYS: Wing successfully hits Tenma with Quick Punch.

Tenma 1/-------/=======|=======\====---\1 Wing
Sometimes, though - just sometimes - Tenma's arrogance turns around and bites him in the ass; this is apparently one of those times. As Wing comes in at him, he's quite sure he can handle whatever she's got, so he actually steps right into it. His whole intent is to go through her attack, to strike at the lag in defense that almost always accompanies an assault... But he wasn't really expecting her to punch im in the throat.
The blow staggers Tenma, and the Gedo swordsman coughs, choking... But he's been through worse than this. He's fought against Geese Howard, he's gone toe to toe with Kain R. Heinlein... Sure, he didn't exactly take either of them down single-handed, but he's /done it/. But since he's staggering back, his whole plan has to change. He's not inside her guard, he's lost the chance to strike before Wing can recover properly... So instead, he sweeps his bokken through the air.
Thing is, he's too far away to /hit/ her with it.
But a streak of blood-red energy follows the movement of his chi-emanating weapon, and even as Tenma grabs his throat with his other hand, a crescent of roiling, real, honest to grandma blood erupts from the trailing energy, tearing through the air directly at Wing, with harmful - and messy - intent!

"HRRAAAAAAAAHHH!"
That's no Seijyuun princess cry. That's an honest to grandma scream of bloodlust. It's purely convenient coincidence that Tenma happens to offer her blood.
Wing plunges through the disgusting, searing attack, ignoring both pain and ruined clothing as she does not cease in her forward assault. Her eyes are blazing with fury, her hands trembling with barely contained rage. Now completely berserk, the taste of blood in her mouth, she's just looking for an opening, just one little opening, through which to vent her anger. He's still staggering-- she might have a chance--
"HAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIII!"
For the briefest of moments she plants herself down, but only before exploding forward, literally -- tearing up clods of dirt around her feet as she is launched forward -- in an attempt to slam one stunning palm directly into Tenma's abdomen. And if she can break through...

Tenma 0/-------/----===|=======\===----\1 Wing
Yeah, even Tenma has to give Wing a little bit of respect for her spirit. A tiny, tiny little bit. As Wing leaps forward, and then lands long enough to rush forward rather dynamically, Tenma is forced to choose his next course of action quickly. The palm hits Tenma in the side, right around the kidney area, causing a surge of pain through the lean Japanese youth's body, but he's twisted to avoid the full hit; at the same moment, the exact same, that bloody chi-emanating bokken slashes down in a vicious strike across Wing's body, a stunning attack of his own, leaving her...
"WIDE OPEN!!" Tenma bellows, following that first strike with more, adding his feet and free fist into the mix as well, unleashing a chained assault against the Queen of the Streets. And just when it seems like he might be done? Tenma suddenly lunges headfirst at Wing, driving his own forehead into her face in a thunderous impact.
It even makes some of the onlooking Gedo students wince sympathetically.
Yeah, Wing has to give Tenma a little respect too.
Just a little.
But if she were a more reasonable individual, she might give him a lot for this one. The attacks tear into her, interrupting her own seemingly unstoppable rampage and cutting her powerful strike entirely short. "Kyaaahh!" Wing cries out again, but sounding girlier than she looks is no antidote to her situation-- for she is, indeed, wide open.
Ahem.
The series of slashes send her spinning out of control, utterly unable to defend herself as she is carved up beyond withstanding, and goodness knows how much of that blood has issued from Tenma and how much is her own, even though he is using a blunt instrument to strike with. And perhaps if he had simply let her fall, simply put his sword away after his incredible combination, Wing would have collapsed spiritlessly, her mind a complete fog, her purpose forgotten.
But then he headbutts her.
And that's a challenge.
That's a direct challenge that pierces to her very soul. And though Wing has been completely ravaged, though her body cries out for succor and her mind is engulfed by pain, that primal beast that slavers within her tiny frame roars mightily, and bloodshot eyes snap open as his forehead surges forward.
He does not hit her in the face, despite having hit her everywhere else. He hits her in the forehead, because from pure instinct, she has brought her forehead forward too. It does not hurt him, of course. But they stand there, foreheads resting against one another, her eyes fearlessly -- perhaps mindlessly too, to be fair -- meeting his, and for a moment, she seems to lean against her opponent for support. For a moment, it's unclear what exactly has happened.
Briefly.
"HAAAAAAAAAAIIIIII!"
And then another scream tears itself from her lungs-- the turn of phrase is appropriate, because she does not seem to have emitted it of her own will. Directly next to him as she is, she will slam that palm of hers forward /again/, exactly as she did before, albeit closer now. And if she can make contact, and if this time he cannot stop her as before, she will unleash her mightiest attack, her fists blurring as she pummels him with a relentless combination strike of her own, pouring every iota of her fury into her attack.
And then, whether she succeeds or not, she...

It looks like, at least for Wing, the second time is the charm; Tenma looks extraordinarily dubious as the self-styled Queen of the Streets somehow finds the wherewithal to come at him again, but this time it's incredibly telegraphed... Surely Tenma will have no problem avoiding it, right? Well, not so much. This time, the Guardian King gets caught by Wing's attack full-on, battered by the repeated strikes, driven backwards... Only to see Wing /not/ fall down like she should.
"Oh, what the hell," Tenma wonders of the universe at large. He can't keep going, that much is sure... Now he just has to take Wing /with/ him.
Pulling his sword hand back, Tenma holds the weapon up, parallel to the ground, point directed at the girl; he focuses, and while to him this seem to take all the time in the world, in truth it takes fractions of a second, lining it up right. Mustering all the energy he has left, Tenma throws himself into a forward lunge directly at Wing, seeking to catch her right in the middle of the chest with his fully extended bokken, in a vicious blow that seeks to take out the tenacious Justice student at last...!

"Ha ha ha ha-- hurrkk!"
Wing does not exactly stand as triumphant as she hoped, for as Tenma collaspes, she too is struck fiercely by his final blow. She staggers, looking completely bewildered, unable to even muster up a final 'ha'.
Wait, no, here it comes.
"...h..."
Eyes widened, gazing at nothing in particular, Wing Xiaoping, Queen of the Streets, sways on her feet weakly before...

"...b...bastard..." she manages, breathing heavily as she lies by Tenma's side. "I... k... kicked... your ass..."
As Tenma himself hits the ground, the aura around his bokken dissipates, with a sound like a slowly exhaled breath; the stripe he painted along the wooden blade in his own blood has vanished as well, the Guardian King simply lacking the juice to continue fighting right now. Luckily, though, Wing seems to be in the same predicament. "Yeah well," Tenma replies. "I woulda kicked yours, 'cept it's all flat an' bony. Probably woulda hurt myself."
"Oh, please," she offers back, still breathing heavily, but able at least to struggle into a sitting position. "You want this so bad." She gets herself onto one head so she can lift her rear a little and pat it with the other, but due to her exhaustion, the taunt is a little half-hearted.
"W, well," she continues, slowly staggering her way up to a standing position again, "do yourself a favor..." *huff huff* "...and stick that sword up your own ass! I'm b... bored of this place already." Glancing around warily at the gathering of Gedo students, Wing quickly calculates that she'd better withdraw while she can still move even a little. "Enjoy your... crappy belt..."
With what passion she has left, Wing staggers around to point waveringly at the young man, some fire still remaining in her eyes.
"...and know that it means nothing! On the streets, we fight for /real/! Don't you..." *huff huff* "...forget it!"
Yeah, that's right.
Wing offers him an imperious grin before she hastily turns and stumbles away as quickly as she can, but she's not /running away/, you understand, she's just bored, and queens don't like to be bored, you know?
You're next, grandpa.
