Description: Ninjas? Totally yesterday's news, Seijyun High School is the ONLY school where you're find a real-deal, no-BS, black... .... Samurai. Truely a rare sight that Yurika takes upon herself to see with her own eyes. And.. Is fairly certain there's something useful there just not entirely sure what. Contains samurais.
At Seijyun High school things have been picking up as of late; with finals nearing a close, many of the students are already making plans on what to do for the summer or decorating up the halls in preperation of a very late graduation ceremony. This means that a lot of classrooms are pretty empty save for the clubs that may occupy them otherwise.
Yurika Kirishima, student council president of the school of tradition, isn't particularly keeping an eye on things on that end, as she doesn't anticipate trouble. What she does notice, however, are some students in particular making themselves known. And some particularly more troublesome than others- This time she's recieved a letter of request to resolve a uniform issue. A certain Nikita Evans doesn't seem to enjoy meeting uniform regulations and instead of letting it slide, the musician has decided to investigate first- An unusual girl, 'thinks she's a samurai'. But seems to love music; which gets on her good side already.
And now with the music club wrapping up, one may be able to see the dark-eyed musician sitting near the doors entrance from the inside of course.. W- When did she get there? She's dressed in her usual light blue attire, with a folder in one hand.
Well, she's been wearing *a* uniform. It's just not the *right* uniform. That should count for something! It isn't like Nikita is doing it to show off. And what she's got even covers as much as the more standard Seijyun ones! The color is just a bit off, and she's wearing those weird lacy elbow-length fingerless gloves and matching stockings that look a little bit goth... Oh, and the scarf. Who wears a scarf in the summertime?
Anyway, since she happens to be a member of the school's music club she's currently putting her instrument away. Because unlike some people, she only uses hers as a weapon on rare occasions. And when she's through locking it up, she grabs her bag and starts heading for the door. It's looking like she might be the last one out, though, and Yurika is clearly waiting for someone, so..
"Uh, hey?" the darkskinned swordswoman asks.
Yurika can't tell by Nikita's tone if she's suprised or weirded out or what but.. Really, that isn't even the matter at hand to handle. One thing the musician noticed, however, aside from the admittadly 'charming' dark skin, is how tall the half-american is. That mild suprise is difficult for her to hide it'd seem, especially when she stands up and.. Still have to look upward.
But she then gives a small, if not mildly eerie smile, "Miss Evans, I presume? I'm Yurika, you may have heard of me within the club actually.. I'm not really part of it anymore for obvious reasons." Instead of curtseying, she offers a hand; familiar with american gestures of greeting of course. "It's nice to finally get a chance to meet you, I admit I'm always eager to meet another music lover. I take it you're enjoying the club?"
It's probably both! Though in a way, the more foreign student had actually been hoping someone like Yurika would notice her eventually. That might even be why she seems so tall right now. She's standing up a little straighter than she was, hoping to make a better impression.
"Right, I've heard of you." she remarks, giving a nod. And even though she knows offering a smile along with that might be helpful, she'd feel like an idiot doing it, so she refrains. At least she's gentle with the handshake when she finally accepts it, though.
"Really? Thanks..." Nikita says in response to the more aristocratic teen after she makes her last little comment. "I like it alright. Sometimes I wish we met on different days, but--" Yeah, she's eyeing the folder.
It's probably Yurika's intruige that kept her from docking any 'points' from Nikita's gruff greeting. The straightening up is noted, even if her expression doesn't shift.. It's still a pleasent smile. Of course she also notices the look to the folder, which she makes no effort to hide.
She notices the lack of any real smile.. But she's not bothered, she can tell by the schoolgirls tone alone that she means sincerety; a shining example of how perfect pitch is a helpful skill. Withdrawing her hand she continues, "You're not in any trouble, Miss Evans there's just a minor issue that I wanted to discuss with you about.. In case you haven't noticed a lot of teachers are rather intimidated by you. Please don't think they're cowards, but it's difficult to bring up problems with someone who carries a sword with them." The girl then chuckles lightly. "It's.. Your uniform. It doesn't quite match the school that you go to, pretty as it is. Is it from your american school?"
Nikita relaxes a moment after hearing that 'not in any trouble' part, taking it at face value. She doesn't even expect there to be any buts. But then there they are. "Hn, I thought it was just because I was taller than them. But that makes sense too... And yeah, it's the one from my last school. I'd tell you the name of it but I don't even remember anymore." In fact, the insignia just says Poison and has a skull with a crown on it! A lot of help that is!
"Anyway... Sorry, I guess. It's just more comfortable than the one they issued me here. I'd be willing to make some changes to it if that'd help?" the white-haired samurai enthusiast asks, shifting the strap on her gym bag up higher on her shoulder.
Would admit what she said was misleading, but the bottom line was that Nikita wasn't in trouble.. If she weren't willing to compromise, however, then she would. Something people will have to get used to about the young president. Looking the tall girl up and down, and seeming particularly interested in the lace, she finally does reply however. .. Even if she is a bit confused by the idea that Nikita doesn't remember what school it was even from, or that her sword was problematic.. But in a way it was cute, too, it reminded her of Akira in a way. "I- I see.. Well yes, that'd be perfectly fine. All you need to do is change insignias, as well as the skirt and sweater to school colors, that'd be acceptable." Nikki could assume, then, the sword is fine. or maybe Yurika knows better than to ask it go away. "I hope that won't be a problem, if anything I would like for you to be as comfortable as possible here. I do hope it has been."
Nikita looks down at herself for a moment as well, scrunching her mouth up on one side of her face. This is a girl's school, right? Why isn't purple one of their colors!?
"Well, okay. I guess I'll have to go see about having these... dyed, or something." Thankfully she has more than one, in case she ever feels like being nostalgic. "So no, no problem. But I mean... You already know I'm having trouble fitting in. That's obvious. I'm gonna need to make a few more friends before I really feel comfortable here." the black girl confesses, looking off to one side and reaching up to scratch her cheek nervously.
She did know, of course. Yurika has a bad habit of keeping a very close eye on people she's interested in- A very well hidden fact thanks to the ability of being able to his her presence well. But she won't be revealing that of course. ".. Dyed?" the musician repeats with a slight frown. "No, I'm afraid I can't be responsible for making you do that unless it really isn't a problem. All I would need are your measurements and I could have modifications sent for you.." Though really, Yurika doesn't think the girl needs a different uniform to stand out like she does. But she'll humor the girl for now.
"And.. Well, that is true, though most of my sources are rumors that I end up having to look into myself.." She has to fight hard to fight back a brighter smile.. When she talks to this woman she's certainly a lot less intimidating, and a lot more cute! Her speech could use a little more work, but that's hardly an uncommon 'fault' around here. "Well, seeing as that is the case, then, of fitting in.. Perhaps I could be of assistance. I certainly would love to know more about you if you'd like to talk over a cup of tea." a pause. "Or.. Ah.. A cola, if you'd prefer." It seems 'business' is pretty much done from that point.
Nikita mns and shrugs a bit, "That's the only way I could think t- Oh, that sounds like it might work too. I'll write down my measurements real quick." Because after all, she wasn't even sure you could dye... plaid. "That'd be a big help though, thanks."
Though of course, the other thing the Kirishima girl offers her sounds even *more* helpful. Even if it is a little like signing herself up for a series of blind dates, it's not like anything else she's tried has worked! What has she really got to lose? "See, that's what I need. Connections. And you've definitely got them, so I'm down."
And with that, she takes out a pin and reaches into her bag for a slip of paper, writing down her measurements and some other information that may or may not be necessary. But at least it gives her a chance to show off her amazing penmanship. Not only does she write everything really elegantly, but she does it ridiculous fast! "Here you go, Yurika. Check you later."
Those Americans, always so hurried, it'd seem. A trait Kurow probably hates, but Yurika's always found amusing. However she actually seems to have a little difficulty with Nikita's slang, even as simplistic as it'd be for anyone else. So she simply blinks a few times after the information is written down on the paper.
.. She's very pleased, though, because she feels there may be something important she could gain from this schoolgirl, and if so it'd be fairly simple to obtain. What, exactly, she won't know until she has a real discussion with the afro samurai. Oh, and it is really nice penmanship much to her suprise. The paper looked over, she looks upward once more. "Y- Yes. I'll.. 'Check you a little later' as well. I need to finish taking care of my work, but I'll give you a call later tonight and perhaps we can meet up then. It was a pleasure to finally meet you."
And with that she does bow, and turns around to head back to, presumably, her office, her cheeks slightly pink and in quite a good mood.
