Neo League 676 - #693: Domino vs Aranha

Description: A Neo League special! The Dancing Spider, Aranha, fights against the professional wrestling model, Domino, at the scenic beach of Southtown.. in swimclothes! Fangirls rejoice. The match begins with Aranha in the lead, but Domino steps up his fighting to turn things around for a close finish! (Winner: Domino)

Word of mouth spread quickly when it was announced that Aranha and Domino would square off once again in a Neo League match. It spread even quicker(for the women) when it was announced as a Swimwear Battle.

Aranha for his part wouldn't understand why exactly they wanted him there. Sure there was a good amount of muscle there but his body wasn't exactly the most photogenic. What the hell... As far as the Dancing Spider was concerned a paycheck was a paycheck.

When Aranha is announced he walks into the ring cleared out for the fight wearing teal swim trunks with a black spider web on the right leg of the trunks. The trunks that extend to his knees.

The lack of shirt however leaves muscular torso, arms, and legs exposed for the world to see. It also leaves the variety of scars his body covered in exposed as well. The only part not covered by the trunks that remains unscarred are his callused feet which shows how much time he put into his martial art form.

Unfortunately for Aranha, the females in the audience don't know whether or not to be impressed with his musculature or to be repulsed by the grotesque scarring on his body.

His opponent, Domino, would find this situation most comical, really. But as it is, he has no idea how El Spiderro feels about this sort of fight, or parading about people in swimwear. Domino, however? Oh, he relishes these opportunities to flaunt both his model looks and fighting style. It's great fun for him.

But it does kind of have a lackluster sense to it. Domino rarely, rarely ever fights with a shirt on anyway. Hell, his casual clothes is hardly concealing. Showing off streamlined arms, a toned chest, and sleek sixpack are common for him. So the only thing the audience is -really- getting new out of this is the sensation that he's fighting on a beach, in an abnormal outfit.

Alas.

But be damned if Domino doesn't play it up from the get-go. The moment he's announced, the young dark-haired wrestler leaps into the ring and turns a quick spin to face the audience, fists thrust into the air and beaming a bright smile. After a couple seconds of this, he rushes to the edge of the ring to lean over it and point out, wave, and wink at various people in the audience. Predominantly females, of course. Guys, however, get thumbs-up and cocky grins.

Finally though, Domino turns his attention to Aranha and sets his left hand to his hip, right hand whisking through his bangs. "Howdy," he greets, casual as can be in both tone and smile. "Didn't expect to be fighting you again so soon. But hey, not heard much from you in London. Didn't forget about that, did'ja?"

Aranha shrugs, "I didn't expect it either but I've been busy handling personal business and trying to get things together." He doesn't mention the team. Just the knowledge that Rylee knew him and was friends with him was enough to put her on Ayame's radar as a suitable target. He doesn't want that for the rest of his team mates(Ok maybe Naerose though he want to admit that she's his team mate for other reasons) when they don't even know him that well yet.

Aranha steps forward before continuing. "As for London, I'm definitely in. I have to admit it uses some interesting rules. Just give me the date everything's ready." All kept vague since they probably want it to announce it when they're ready plus Aranha didn't think Ken Masters would appreciate him advertising for another league on the NL's dime.

COMBATSYS: Aranha has started a fight here.

"Hey, I can understand that. Trying to coordinate a world tour, myself. See the best internationals have to offer," Domino adds. Because, you know, Neo League is soooo full of a single demographic.

Nevertheless, Domino begins to enter his stance step by step. The footing comes first. "Good to know. And yeah, everyone'll have to adjust for the rules. Even me." Which could be considered weird, but hey. It's true.

And then there's the call to fight. Domino decidedly takes the initiative and dashes towards Aranha, not even finished with his stance yet. Not that it matters, since he's all a rush of motion, hands chambering at his sides. When he enters strike range, he shifts into a deep frontal stance, and both hands rocket out for Aranha's torso in a double palmheel strike - which ignites in an explosion of radiant white concussive energy.

Thus ends the conversational, carefree 'light side' of Domino.

COMBATSYS: Drake has joined the fight here.

Aranha wasn't even in his ginga before the fight started but he's actually okay with that. After all it became an every day thing for someone to perform some type of sneak attack on him in his capoeira class. It's something that's allowed him to always be on guard.

It's that awareness that allows the capoeirista to spin as he dances around the palm strikes covered in white chi. His lips curl into an easy going grin as he twists hopping towards Domino's flank before whirling around and then thrusting his foot into the wrestler's side with a spinning side kick, before turning and recoiling backwards.

The evasion wasn't rightly expected. Domino is thumped on the side, just as Aranha had intended, and he staggers a step over with a grunt. He then whirls around on the capoeirista and lifts a hand to wave a finger back and forth in an 'ah-ah-ah' manner.

Suddenly, Domino makes a grab for Aranha's ear, going to yank him in for a sudden thrust of his knee into his midsection. This is hopefully hard enough to double him over, as Domino then attempts to loop his arms around his midsection to swing him up onto his shoulders.. and promptly powerbomb him down onto his back.

Aranha's not quite there when the dark side Domino reaches for his ear. Instead Aranha takes advantage of the backward rocking motion from his side kick to move even further away from the ear grab and then using that motion to cartwheel further away. Aranha drops low to the ground as he spins forward to set up for his attack.

Suddenly Aranha pops up from the ground lashing a blue glowing roundhouse, followed by a spinning jump kick also glowing with chi before using the momentum of the second kick to carry him into his finale of a glowing back flip kick driving down on Domino's head.

The Aggressive Dance seems to be one of his moves that seems be able to strike a balance between flashy and effective. That is one of the reasons he likes using it so much.

The grab dodged, Domino immediately sets more on the defensive. And it's really right in time, as the roundhouse comes kareening for him. The agile wrestler weaves back from that, then ducks beneath the jump kick, and finally skirts to the side to evade the flip kick. Though at a slightly more awkward angle now, Domino doesn't hesitate to retaliate with a kick of his own. His body twists over, and his left foot swings high in a spinning hook kick aimed for the side of Aranha's head.

Aranha's own reflexes seem to be on as well. Aranha looks under his arm as he touches down from the final part of the kick combination It seems to serve him well since it allows him to see the spinning hook kick headed for his head as well. His head pops up for only a moment as he turns to look at the other fighter.

Suddenly as the kick is just about to make impact Aranha leans over to both pull himself under the kick and to plant his own hands on the ground as he whips a spinning back heel of his own utilizing the stability of the ground to give his own kick a little more oomph.

COMBATSYS: Drake fails to counter Medium Kick from Aranha with Star Breaker.

Aranha really seems to be on the ball for this match, or Domino needs to really step up his fighting. Either way, the kick comes much faster than Domino had anticipated, and his intended grab for Aranha's leg whiffs entirely. It winds up slamming into him instead, and sending him to the ground, skidding back a little.

But Domino doesn't appear to be down. He pushes himself up onto his hands and narrows his eyes on his opponent, teeth starting to grit.

Aranha spins up from the kick ready to follow his kick up with another only to find Domino skidding away from him. Although Aranha didn't quite expect that development, he's fairly pleased with the results.

Taking a few moments to close back in, Aranha's suddenly right next to the wrestler before delivering an outside crescent kick to the model's head.

The outside crescent never lands since it was only meant to disguise the real kick. He whirls around utilizing the momentum of the first kick to deliver another spinning before suddenly changing directions to slam the next kick into the side of his head.

Domino is still down when Aranha has suddenly appeared by him. Every muscle in his body suddenly tenses, ready to divert the initial kick.. only something about it seems off.

And that's when it hits him.

It was a feint. He's been getting a lot of those in his fights lately. The second kick, once noticed, finds itself grabbed away from its target, and Domino twists over to shove Aranha down to the ground. With him laying there in whatever way he is, Domino hops to his feet and rushes to one corner of the ring. There, he hops onto the post, perching keenly facing the audience. His right fist thrusts into the air, signalling to them his intentions.

A certain attack Domino fans should know well enough...
...As well as the intent to start turning this fight around.

Suddenly, Domino has lept into the air, pulling into a double backflip. On the second rotation, his limbs spread out, pulling the musculature of his torso taut and firm for hard impact against Aranha in a high-flying moonsault.

Aranha doesn't instantly follow when Domino rushes the corner. No, the Dancing Spider waits and bides his time as the wrestler stands up on the post. While Drake has his back turned to Aranha, the traceur has a devious smile on his face.

The wrestler takes off for the high risk manuever and then Aranha scrambles to his feet and then darts forward and under him before grabbing onto the top rope and swinging himself between the top and middle ropes. With a quick twist he's facing the ring again before vaulting up on the top rope to drop down on the wrestler with two feet firmly planted in his chest.

Wham.

Well, okay, Domino will take a second longer to turn this fight around apparently. He lands hard on his front in the ring, bouncing once from the harsh impact. He groans to himself and rolls over to stare up at the sky. Dude, he hates missing that attack. Always a doozy.

And he spies Aranha's feet.

Domino quickly rolls away, letting him stamp nothing but the ground. He quickly comes up behind his opponent and attempts to hook his arms around his midsection. If caught, Domino bridges his back to drive Aranha's head against the ground behind him in a German suplex.

Aranha isn't quite able to block the wrestler off from getting behind him. As a result Domino gets a solid hold on Aranha's midsection. The bad news is that Aranha's arms are still free and that allows him to stop himself from being slammed on his head.

Instead Aranha holds himself up in a handstand before slipping out of his grip and turning to face Domino still holding himself up in that handstand before he begins lashing with a rapid series of serious snap kicks down on the model's head.

Domino wasn't prepared for a series of kicks immediately following the slam, unfortunately. So when he gets up to his feet, he's immediately getting kicked in the head repeatedly. He staggers back, yelping after the final strike.

Once standing still and sure-footed, he gives his head a shake. Domino's amethyst eyes narrow on Aranha again, and he closes in again. This time, however, he attempts to maneuver around behind his back in an instant, going for his right arm to wrench it around behind his back in a tight hammerlock.

COMBATSYS: Aranha fails to interrupt Fast Throw from Drake with Bad Beat.

As Domino stumbles back, Aranha drops out of the handstand and back to his feet waiting for the wrestler to come back into range. Domino seems too happy to oblige the capoeirista. Unfortunately the wrestler is quick to grab his right arm. Aranha attempts to swing his left elbow across the Model's chin. Aranha isn't exactly successful and the elbow he swung goes clear of the model leaving him to continue to wrench his arm with impunity.

Domino wrenches on the arm a few seconds more before smirking. Finally. -Finally-, he's got his hands on this guy. Now as long as he can keep it, he can really, and -finally- turn things around.

So Domino releases the grip only for a second to attempt hooking his arms around the dark-skinned fighter from behind to abruptly begin squeezing and crushing him. The arms pump repeatedly, ever-intensifying the bearhug, trying to wear him down into submission quickly.

Aranha couldn't break the arm wrench and now he's not quite able to move away from the bear hug. Trapped, Aranha grunts as he tries to struggle free. Not even that is enough. He finds only intense pain instead.

Aranha finds himself being forced to adapt.

While the bear hug is applied, Aranha swings his foot backwards over and over. kicking at shins and knees while he thrashes about. All of this is done in the hope that he can free himself from the wrestler before he can set up for any other brutal attack.

Domino is content to sustain the hold until Aranha taps out or falls unconscious... but Aranha just isn't going to cooperate, it seems. He begins thrashing about, which is predictable enough. He tries to swing his prey about to jostle him out of the struggling.. but Aranha kicks and bruises up his shins enough to warrant a change-up.

The moment Domino releases his opponent, his right hand chambers up by his collar bone, then flashes out at the base of Aranha's neck in a reverse knifehand strike. Quick, but hopefully painful enough to stun him.

And the preparation that Aranha had made to escape from Domino works in his favor. The knife hand strike is quick but Aranha just turns out to be just a touch quicker than the knife hand strike leaning away from it as he turns himself to face the wrestler with one leg extended and the other tucked under him.

No sooner than Aranha is out of the way that the Dancing Spider is back on the attack pushing his weight forward as he swings a kick from the tucked leg right for the model's head with a loud grunt.

Domino was expecting the attack in retaliation. When his hand whiffs, he prepares to intercept Aranha with a powerslam. But that really doesn't seem to be in the cards for this fight. Aranha is, by all appearances, simply bringing it.

And not like a cheerleader, either.

Domino's hand moves a fraction too slow, and the kick connects solidly. The model wrestler is punted down to the ground, tumbling over a couple times with a groan.

As soon as he swung out the kick, Aranha knew he messed up. He even expected punishment to come to him for his mistake. But it never comes. Instead Aranha sees his foot just barely thread past Domino's hand and he breathes a sigh of relief.

Letting the momentum of the kick carry him to a standing position, Aranha continues to move a relaxed smile on his face as he moves in. With a quick drop to the ground, Aranha extends a leg thrusting it in the bread basket of the grounded fighter. Domino isn't someone you can't afford to let up on unless hanging back will achieve something. This was not one of those cases.

Domino has no intentions of just -staying- down however. The foot comes bearing in on him, and he begins to twist over. The foot grazes against his ribs, getting a wince from the fighter.. but not enough to really stop him or keep him grounded.

Instead, Domino quickly gets back up to his feet and his hands make a sudden, severe grab for Aranha's shoulders. If he locks onto them, he gives Aranha a quick yank forward to lock his neck between his legs and hook his arms around his midsection, meaning to hoist him up into the classic piledriver position.

With Aranha caught in the hold, Domino proceeds with the Total Eclipse, much to the entertainment of the spectators.

The first phase comes in the form of a hold Aranha had endured only moments before, only worsened. It's the Blackout hold all over again, only Domino is giving it all he's got, crushing the man in his grip relentlessly... while holding him upside-down.

Once Domino's arms are locked down as tightly as possible, he maintains that pressure and begins phase two; the more martial, acrobatic portion. He vaults into the air with Aranha in a series of forward flips, gaining speed along the climb. By the time the two are on the descent, they've blurred together into an opaque swirl of motion. The full punishment of the Total Eclipse comes when Aranha's head crashes against the ground, the pent-up momentum of the flipping motion coming to a shattering halt... backed up by the elevation of the jump and their combined bodyweights.

And this move is one of the reasons why Aranha did not bring his Oakley Thumps with him to the ring. The series of holds is disorienting only to be made worse by the forward flips culminating in a powerful slam. His whole world is filled with agony. To his credit he doesn't say ouch but that may be more from the daze he was in because of the slam.

It takes awhile but Aranha stumbles to his feet. His movements are shaky and wobbily up until he finally manages to get close to Domino but he doesn't attack. Instead, Aranha sways and dances as he watches the other fighter.

COMBATSYS: Aranha focuses on his next action.

Domino tumbles back from Aranha and he ends on his feet again, assuming his stance. He doesn't expect Aranha to be down, though. Not yet. He didn't wear him down quite enough for the win. So while Domino may be feeling the repeated kicks he's endured through this match, he's still intent on coming out the victor here.

So even though Aranha comes in and begins his routine, Domino takes a moment... and suddenly drops close to Aranha's legs, making a grab for the left one. If caught, he quickly yanks it out from under him, bringing Aranha down onto his front, and to thus twist the leg over in a half boston crab.

Aranha attempts to leap over the grab for his leg and ends up getting worked over until he face first on the ground. Aranha finds himself grunting and wiggling as he tries to escape. Eventually he does but it's too late. The damage has been done and he can't get a victory out of this fight.

Aranha doesn't want to go out without giving one final effort before he collapses. With a bit of a limp he moves back towards Domino. He whirls and whirls whipping glowing kick after glowing kick at him. Aranha never quite reaches his usual speed of kick delivery due to his legs not being as stable as they usually are. His only saving grace comes from the fact that his arm is still somewhat okay and he delivers the glowing tornado handstand kicks at the usual speed(but twisting his hip harder to give that particular part a little extra) before finally collapsing into a broken heap.

COMBATSYS: Aranha can no longer fight.

Domino continues twisting and wrenching on the leg, pulling it steadily more towards Aranha's head, gunning for the tap-out... but Aranha twists free!

Domino goes on the strong defensive, amethysts narrowing on his opponent again. And cue all Hell breaking loose. The glowing kicks come like a hurricane, and it's all Domino can do to endure it. He doesn't want to risk jumping out of the way when Aranha is in this close proximity, so his arms lift to take repeated, pummeling hits to his arms. Even -blocking- these successive hits is worse than all the previous kicks Aranha's delivered! And the glowing energy isn't making it any easier. Each hit pushes Domino back a step again and again, right up until he's pushed to the edge.

But that's when it stops and Aranha collapses. Domino relaxes his guard and eyes his opponent warily right up until it's called.

K.O. Domino wins.

The young model wrestler whirls around to face the audience and he throws his arms into the air, beaming a bright smile. He then rushes to the post he was perched upon earlier, hopping to its top again. For the sole benefit of the audience and cameras, he gives his usual victorious pose in true pin-up fashion: right hand whisps through his bangs, then sets to his hip, flashing the world a roguish smile. But dang, that wasn't an easy fight.

COMBATSYS: Drake has ended the fight here.
