Description: The rather random and always confusing Naerose takes on Leona in a small village in Mexico. What is a vacation for the witch turns into a nightmare when she faces off with an Ikari that was on their way home. ( Winner: Leona )
Mexico and the summer was coming so someone was going to be taking a short vacation, that someone was Naerose. The Red Witch was here first on a Neoleague match, she didn't know her opponent, but she had studied just a little about this Leona. She could probably do a commentary on one of her fights, but the chance would have to present itself, not really likely right now. She had the distinct impression that Leona was the serious type and not one to flaunt around in public much. What was she like? What did she like to eat? Nae was maybe going to find out. So in Mexico with a weekends worth of clothes packed and her notebook, she's all ready to try and work an interview into this too, if she can pull it off.
"This is gonna be so awesome," the witch muses to herself while in the sectioned off area already, waiting.
The stop in Mexico wasn't so much a vacation as a stop on the way home back to the Ikari base after a small break of her own spending time up in the northeastern United States. It is weird to have not been involved in Neo League for so long and suddenly being involved with two matches so close together. It at least can be looked at as a good form of training. The blue-haired Ikari hadn't done much fighting in awhile and she needed to make sure she was still in good shape for when the team league was to start.
As for Leona being a serious type? That would be the nice way of putting it. There isn't really any expression on the woman's face when she finally appears for the fight with her hair already tied up into the ponytail by her dogtags. Naerose is a name she has heard of a few times in passing, but she can't really remember if she has ever met the rather odd woman that considers herself a witch. She snaps a crisp salute to the other fighter once she gets in closer and then nods. "Let us have a good fight."

"Yeah.. Hi!" Naerose say cheerfully to Leona and flashes her a bright smile.
"I'm Naerose Delphine, you must be Leona, so what brings you here, are you vacationing? It's a good time here right?" She tries to do the whole interview thing but is quickly finding herself rebuked by Leona's apparent disinterest in talking from the get go.
"You ahh.. don't like to talk much do you." The witch says and sighs. She doesn't really have a salute, but she does have a big smile which she gives to Leona, hoping it will be infectious. She raises her broom and adjusts her hat. Really it's hard to tell if she's serious or not.
Very few people can get Leona to smile. One might even say it is close to being one of the signs of the apocalypse if she flashed one when not around other Ikari. "On my way back to base. Finishing my vacation." she replies to at least answer some of the questions the witch may have. She is definantly not much of a talker especially when she is prepared to fight even if it is something like this which is supposed to be a friendly competition.
It seems that Naerose won't get too much time to ask many questions from the get go. If she does it will be on the move because Leona is more than ready to move when the officials give the pair the okay to start this fight. She takes a quick few steps to close the distance between herself and the witch before bringing up a foot to plant the heel of her boot into the hip of the other fighter.

To begin the witch uses her own shin and boot to deflect the kick as best she can but you know what? That kind of hurt, the witch winces, bringing her brow in a bit and dancing back a little before fixing a grin to Leona.
"Erh, not bad, umm what's your favorite food?" She asks while obviously not giving up conversation, but the talking is accompanied by a wince, cause her ankle hurts now. Also she brings her broom about in a full on swipe, trying to hit her back but all the while with a broad grin still on her face. One thing can be said, the witch is apparently having fun.

There is a slight change of expression, though not much of one. It is mostly a quirking of the brow from the Ikari when asked such a weird question like that in a fight. Not something about her style or why she fights, but what the hell she eats? "Shouldn't you be concentrating on other things?" she asks while quickly using an arm to deflect the strike from the broom.
She then brings her hands back as they crackle with green energy and she brings them forward to create a greenish sphere that floats between the two fighters for a moment before exploding into a spikes of energy meant to impale the witch while the mercenary leaps back.

"Well I was-" the witch begins before getting full on pelted by the blast of power and staggers back to one knee with a grunt of effort and something of paint. She lets a few breaths as she holds her chest and is forced down. It looks as if the witch was about to try something with Leona, but it fails, whatever it was, as she gets hit straight on and is forced down with a grunt.
"Ah.. heh, I think you might of had a point there."
At least it seems like the Ikari woman is making no attempt to rub it in. Some people have quirks when they fight. Some are just ones that Leona never understood. At best she just considered talking during the fight a way to try to distract an opponent and have them leave an opening to exploit. A tactic that can work as long as one is confident enough in being able to fight and concentrate on coming up with distracting conversation.
There seems to be no rest for the witch, though as the Ikari is more than happy to continue her assault. She seems to be favoring speed for now at least as she relies on a quick strike to keep Naerose on her toes in the form of a feinted jab at the face that turns into another quick jab from her left hand aimed to slug Naerose right in the gut.

Naerose meanwhile favors speed in return and gets out of the way of that shot. Leona was really not going to be an easy one to fall, that much was easy to tell, the witch couuld tell this wouldn't be easy and if she keeps up at this rate, she might go down.. So after she recovers herself from the near hit with the incoming punch, Naerose changes direction and turns her broom back on Leona, throwing a swing which is hard to predict, due to her giving it a little twirl on her fingers before bringing it around to try and hit Leona with a winning smile.

While her fight with Himeko was a more methodical one, the Ikari seems to be more set on keeping this fight more quick paced and trying not to give the witch much room to move about. Even after that jab misses its mark Leona is pressing forward despite the broom being aimed at her again. Her arm comes upwards to once again deflect that strike to allow her to weave in closer then actually move past Naerose as dives into a forward roll which she comes out of quickly as she brings her arm around to sling a throwing knife at the backside of the witch, a knife that erupts into a bluish color chi as it seeks its mark.

This one is a dead on hit and the witch is sent back with a stagger. Leona was tough! Maybe Nae wasn't making the best choices, but she seemed to think she had to make up for lost ground. Perhaps that was folly to think, even the same her risky manevuers only helped to ensure that Leona's streak of winning continued.
"Ouch.. Hey nice." The witch commented before moving up and aiming a large baseball style swing at Leona.
"This one is gonna benice too!" she exclaims.

Perhaps it was just the bad luck of being the person after the warm up on Leona's little travel. Himeko in comparison was spared of alot of the punishment that seems to be getting dealt out by Leona at this point. Was she just working off some aggression or perhaps she is truely letting herself have fun. It is really hard to tell given how the woman acts. This is a woman that managed to keep a straight face the night Ralf got plastered and gave Whip a lapdance during one of the Ikari celebration parties. Her face must be stuck.
Naerose does do one thing well from what Leona can see and that is to keep her hopes up in a fight. Despite being overwhelmed the witch still keeps that smile on her face and even compliments the Ikari. "Thank you." is the only respond the Ikari responds with while planning her next action. An action that involves her darting forward and this time getting smacked against the side by the broom as she lunges foward while making a slash with enough force to cut through cloth and even break skin despite the lack of her using anything sharp as well as no flashes of chi being used.
This was going badly for Naenae, very badly, what is a witch to do. One thing she could do is try to call down a giant mass of chi on Leona's head and hope for the best.
"You should.. Teach." Naerose says between some gasping breaths of effort and give a grin and then a wink. Her next act.. move her broom in a circle in a sweeping motion and then a call to bring down a successive bunch of waves of power, like cinders down onto the head head of her opponent, or around the head.
"This is it.. Star Fall!" Exclaims Naerose, her shades glinting before the large rain pelting begins. It's a wonder no one else is hurt, like the witch herself, or maybe she will be hurt.

Seeing nothing beyond strikes with the broom really starts to wonder why this girl proclaims herself a witch. Sure she has the hat and broom which is more of a stereotypical thing than anything else, but there was idle ponderings of what the girl could really do. Then again Leona has been a bit on the relentless side and perhaps just wasn't giving Naerose much of a chance to show what she can really do.
The witch does finally buy herself a minor bit of time when she makes the weird statement that Leona should teach. A brow is raised again and the Ikari keeps herself focused on the fight, but at the same time her head tilts a bit. "Teach? I didn't even go to school. I am not qualified." she replies while watching Naerose carefully.
And that is when the chi comes crashing downwards towards Leona. Though instead of getting out of the way, the Ikari raises her arms to cover herself up while letting it rain down on her till it is over. "Impressive." she says once all is said and done before showing Naerose a wave of her own chi, a rather large one created when she opens her hands and swings downwards to create a swath of blue energy that hurtles towards the other fighter.

Wow that hurt. Naerose manages to block the energy, using the broom and yet it still washes over her, a splash of chi. She might be way out of her league with Leona, but it never alters her mood. She gives a significant grin and then prepares to send a javelin of chi toward Leona, but in the meantime she goes on with the interview,
"Have you ever thoguht of getting a student? Cause I bet you'd make a great teacher and I'd love to learn from... " Then she flings the icy chi at Leona.
"Sagitta major!"

"A student...." she echos after seeing that perhaps she hadn't worn down the other fighter enough for that to be fully effective just yet. "No, I have not." she admits as she settles down to get ready for the incoming attack. "I am a soldier, not a teacher." Those dark eyes focus on the javelin like blast of chi thrown her way and she starts to move to get ready to just avoid it.
And that is when there finally seems to be a chink found in the Ikari's armor when it slams into Leona and actually causes her to stagger back several steps before her footing is regained. It does seem like Naerose still has a few surprises by the looks of it. For now she hangs back to reassess the situation and prepare for the proper way to finish this witch off.

"Ah huh.. Where do new soldiers come from then?" Asks the witch as she holds onto her broom and watches Leona.
"Well whatever, I guess youre not interested. I'm always interested in learning from someone.. Well someone like you." The witch gives a smile and then moves in, perhaps pressing her luck, but she makes another hard swing, possibly trying to get Leona off guard. It's a solid swing, aimed to catch Leona across the head, last time it didn't go so well.

This girl is confusing to say the least. Or maybe it is just the way she keeps smiling despite all that happens that is throwing Leona off her game a tiny bit. The breather was enough to allow her to resituate herself though and concentrate on the fight at hand. "I am not the one that trains new recruits yet. You need to look for someone higher up if you wish to become an Ikari." That perhaps may have been one of the worst things Leona could say, but only time will tell if the witch would actually look further into it.
The swing is easily avoided this time around and Leona ducks low at first and then pushes off the ground quickly as she straightens up in the air and brings one leg up high before swinging it down in a quick axe kick that is intended to drag her heel down across the top of Naerose's head.

Naerose tries to get out of the way but she is a little more than tired, she just struggles to get out of the way and takes the full kick and lands head first in the ground.
"Ahh.. that really hurt!" Exclaims the witch, giving only one chance to make a blast, perhaps more reflex to getting hit then an actual attack. Afterwitch she struggles a little to get to her feet, but she doesn't do a great job of it, she's struggling and drops back down to her knees.
"I guess. you win." The witch breaths and wipes her forehead.

Reflex or not that move was random enough that Leona actually seemed rather off guard as she was recovering from her strike. As best as she did to try and block it the attack hit her hard enough to knock her back several steps again till she regains her footing while still looking ready to continue. There is even a moment of hesitance about dropping her guard at first when Naerose says she wins.
"Very well." the Ikari finally says once it looks like the witch really meant what she said. Leona drops her guard and she offers another crisp salute to Naerose. "You...are interesting to say the least." the blue-haired woman says while removing the dogtags from her hair and place them back around her neck. "Perhaps our paths shall cross again."
