Description: Neo League matches never had so much Burning Spirit. When Soccer Superstar Roberto hears a challenge from Choi, the lecherous hero of Taiyo high, he can't help but accept. Facing off in the Taiyo Dome, Roberto earns his victory, while Choi gets his 2nd loss! (Winner: Roberto)
Roberto will not pretend that he likes doing his fights at Taiyo's Dome Arena. He never has, and never will. He was even about to go as far to reject the Neo League invitation but then he saw who the other person on the fight card was. Considering the rumors surrounding Choi circulating throughout the halls of Taiyo. Choi had heroically fought on the behalf of his school while Roberto was at an away game. On the other hand he was also there selling pictures of Tiffany Lords and his own team mate had attempted to turn Choi away.
Not knowing what to make of the Korean, Roberto accepted. By now the Taiyo student body knows Roberto's schtick and so by the time soccer player arrives, there's already a field littered with soccer balls and a couple of goals on both ends.
Roberto waits for his opponent to make his presence known as he stretches and warms up. A few members of his team are off to the die to give support.
Choi has no presence. He actually has been in the arena for several minutes now, by the gatorade cooler. He finished up his stretching, and he was waiting for, you know, Roberto to finish HIS stretching. Sipping his paper cup with on ungloved hand, he held the missing glove in his other clawed hand. Roberto was a Taiyo boy, and personally, Choi liked Taiyo. Sure, he was a panty-theiving pervert. But he got SOME respect here. He even could show his face in public outside the school!
Of course, while Choi didn't know what kind of boy, he had some guesses. The soccer set up was a good hint. After fighting many of these, he suspected that these students fighters had a theme. Except Iincyo. Their focus was their style. Roberto was probably a soccer player. Choi thought about this. Kicks. Keep the game high. And don't let him kick balls at you.
The Korean crushed his empty cup, and tossed it at the ground. He walked out towards the center of the field, adjusted his missing glove back on. Fixed on, he waves at the student. "Hey! Buddy Boy! I think you are stretched out enough! Can we get your beatdown over with?" The midget shouted down at the boy. Yeah, he was being cocky. Yeah, he lost the last several fights. No, he wasn't going to let THAT hold him back.
Roberto rises from from his stretches and elevates to his full height and tilts his head letting his neck crack audibly before regarding the much shorter fighter. With a nod. "My beatdown? Let's see whether or not that's all talk." Then again Roberto suspects that it wasn't, after all Nagare did have trouble with him and Roberto himself had trouble in his fight with Nagare.
And while keeping the fight up high may be a good idea against a soccer player there are few other things Choi might want to pay attention to such as those red goalkeeper gloves that Roberto is wearing. "Well considering what you said you must be ready and so, lets go!"
And suddenly the soccer player moves swinging a foot low at Choi's legs as a way of testing him and trying to gauge the style of fight he's in for.
COMBATSYS: Roberto has started a fight here.

The Korean watches the soccer star. Wow. He was bigger than he thought. Well, he thought it was pretty dumb to think he was small. Choi checks over Roberto as he closes in. The gloves were a concern. Those were goalie gloves. The midget expected Roberto was a striker. You know, a lead. Instead, he was a defender. That meant he would have a decent upper game.. but a worse lower game.
Choi grunts in response to the student, look low. He was going to rush in, ready to slash out at the kid's knees. But then, the victim's legs snap out to meet Choi's legs. Thanks to Choi's height, it wasn't that powerful. However, because of his height, it is less of a kick and more of a trample. Bowled over, the Korean falls on the ground... and starts crawling.
Moving swiftly, he begins to scamper across the grass, moving with impressive speed. Nagare was a nasty fight for the Korean, and he mostly won with luck and perversion. But he held out because of this speed. Circling Roberto, he explodes out with a bang, spinning like a drill with his claws out. He had to test this kid too. After all, he was bothered by the fact that he had to protect Taiyo. Not the other students. Were they... soft?
COMBATSYS: Roberto dodges Choi's Houkou Tenkan.

Roberto didn't even expect for the kick to bowl Choi over. He was attempting to just test his defenses and if there's one thing he learned he may have bit of a strength advantage on him. As Choi crawls around him the soccer player moves for a soccer ball close to him on the ground. It's at that exact moment Choi explodes towards him that Roberto is suddenly forced to react like a field player.
A smooth spin move allows the soccer player to change directions and move quickly out of the way before performing a couple cuts and a spin to bring facing Choi once more. This time with some distance between them. If there was any question that Roberto wasn't comfortable as a field player the fact that soccer ball is traveling quickly and with pin point accuracy to Choi's head should remove all doubt.
COMBATSYS: Roberto successfully hits Choi with Long Shot.

Now Choi is slowly getting the picture. As he sails through the air, he notices that the soccer player, well, moves. And by jove does he move. Catching not even a piece of him, the Korean lands on all fours on the ground. He was the soccer player. Not a specialist. He was the type that could do soccer squarely. And he get the picture totally clear as the ball smashes the back of his head, sending the front half to the dirt.
Picking up again, Choi shakes his face free of the grime. Ouch. Roberto was good. Taiyo High had pretty impressive students. The dwarf rolls his neck, and looks at the soccer player. He was working out the kinks that he just got from his body. And rather than just get pounded in this opening, he starts to... talk. "You aren't bad at all, Buddy Boy! Do all Taiyo students fight this well?" He shoots out in a friendly manner, still shaking his body.
COMBATSYS: Choi gains composure.

It's probably a good thing for Roberto that Choi didn't come after him again. He put so much into being accurate with his signature move that he seems to hold the follow through for just a little too long. If there was a time to attack Roberto, that was it right there.
Roberto shrugs when Choi asks him about the skill levels of the others. "A few are better, a few have a bit of potential. Some don't fight at all. Taiyo is like most schools in that aspect." It's a diplomatic answer that doesn't give away too much away. After all, Choi should probably fight them if he wants to know for sure.
Roberto comes back in to close the distance just before he attempts to swing a glowing foot at Choi to knock him into the air.
COMBATSYS: Choi blocks Roberto's Thrust Kick.

Choi 0/-------/=======|===----\-------\0 Roberto
Choi doesn't seem to enjoy the answer that much. Diplomatic, yes. But also vague and non-commiting. Sure, he could have attacked Roberto, but the problem was that Choi was in the least optimal position to attack. Too far away, and his head still hurt from the face'd strike. Feeling more loose and limber, he notices that the soccer player is covering distance fast. Instead of risking another dodge, Choi brings his arms around to protect himself. When Roberto brings his foot around, Choi is sent flying in the air.
Going aerial, the Korean feels his arms throb in pain. The soccer player had three tricks so far. All of them involved his legs. "Come on, boy, I've seen other schools, you guys are different!" Growling, he begins to fall to the ground. And then, without much warning, he flips head over heels at the Soccer Player, trying to sneak in a kick in between expected recoveries. "Don't you have anything to brag about?"
COMBATSYS: Roberto interrupts Hien Zan from Choi with Shining Save.

Choi 1/-----==/=======|=====--\-------\0 Roberto
Roberto's legs recoil quickly as he watches the Korean descends. "Well..." Roberto starts before Choi launches himself into the air. "I'm no King of Fighters or World Warrior winner like some a couple of students who have gone here." No need to mention that one is a perpetual senior and the other graduated and is going to Seijyun University.
Roberto leaps into the air catch Choi in mid air with a pair of glowing hands that act to hold him while the rest of his body smothers the attack before throwing the claw fighter on his back assisted by a burst of chi. "But I have yet to be beaten in an official team match yet. And all of us be they fighter or not have a Burning Spirit that drives them."
Choi was getting tossed around like a rag doll here. With his kick being sneaked in, the soccer player switches into goalie mode. While his kick does land, Roberto hurls the Korean away. Sadly, this well-timed attack takes the conversation out of him for a moment. The Korean was not doing as well as he hoped in Taiyo.
Choi considers his options. Soccer players had good endurance. This guy had good range. Good mix of upper and lower body, thanks to all-field training. Good reflexes. Good head. That was the problem with soccer. Or the advantage. It gave great overall abilities, once you got the hang of it. Choi considered what might overtake him, and gets an idea.
As he gets thrown to the ground, he rolls with it. The Chi does the most damage, naturally, but even that he keeps in tandem with. As he rolls away, he whirls around and starts rolling towards Roberto. He breaks out in a leap, and with dangerous speed, just starts hacking away with his claws at every angle imaginable. Roberto might be good all around, but he doubt soccer dealt with aggressive hammering. Single strikes, Roberto could shrug off. But could he manage a full blown ripping and tearing?
COMBATSYS: Roberto blocks Choi's Hou'ou Kyaku.

Choi 0/-------/-----==|======-\-------\0 Roberto
Choi comes in claws and all and Roberto is forced to adapt by deflecting the attacks at Choi's wrist to avoid getting his precious gloves slashed to leather and rubber ribbons. However there is a cost. All the slashes still win through to the arms piercing holes in his shirt and still drawing blood from his forearms. His hands still keep going, hands blurring as he struggles to keep up with Choi's attack.
All things considered, Roberto's not badly hurt but he's starting to breath harder. The fight pace probably has been going too fast and now he plans on changing the tempo a bit. Moving in close to Choi he lowers his body as he attempts to create shoulder to shoulder contact with the smaller fighter and push him with a soccer styled tackle only it's delivered more aggressively than it would be delivered on the pitch.
COMBATSYS: Roberto successfully hits Choi with Quick Throw.

Choi 0/-------/----===|======-\-------\0 Roberto
Choi stops his assault, and just stares. How did he keep the pacing. He stares at him, and notices little things. He was getting tired. He was throwing everything he had early on, maybe? Choi, while badly bruised, was not tired at all. The rag doll treatment, while brutal, wasn't tiring. "Where WERE you when the school was attacked, buddy boy?" The midget begins, when the soccer player checks and trips him up. Falling on his back, something gets flipped in his mind.
Soccer players were good at a lot of things. But grapples weren't one of them. I mean, you threw balls, and that was about it. Anything else got you carded. Choi actually didn't try that yet. With a grunt, he pushes off the ground. Flying through the air, he attempts to latch on the soccer player's chest with his legs. If he makes it, he would begin stabbing his claws all over his front. A viscious move, yes. But if it landed, it might turn this fight around.
COMBATSYS: Roberto blocks Choi's Zujou Sashi.

Choi 0/-------/---====|=======\-------\0 Roberto
Roberto was definitely quick enough to get out of the way of the latching attack. Even while tired he could do so but he doesn't because he wants Choi right there. It's not something he exactly regrets either because his hands are still free to continue deflecting the claws, in similar fashion to the previous time. This time though, bits and pieces of his shirt fall away from his forearm and onto the turf. Arms bleeding as the attack ends.
"Which one? There has been more than one attack on the school, some of which I've been there for, and some of which I haven't. You need to be more specific!"
With Choi still latched onto him, he winds back and swings on him. With a boxer's right hook. He's also been trained by Heavy D! as well.
COMBATSYS: Roberto successfully hits Choi with Strong Punch.

Choi 1/-------/=======|=======\-------\1 Roberto
Choi stabs nothing but arm, which only pinpricks him. The Korean, frusterated, blurts out. "When the bus load of Kyos were here, and I helped protect the Sc-"
Heavy D? Oh crap.
Choi get the right hook hard in his jaw. Bowling over backwards, he drives long across the grass. Crumpling in a pile, he seems to be out. That is, until he makes that one last push. Kicking off with full fury, he snaps right back at Roberto with another hacking, slashing frenzy. Claws whistling, he just keeps cutting at the soccer player. It might have the fighting spirit relit inside him.
Or it might just snuff it out.
COMBATSYS: Choi has reached second wind!

He watches as Choi falls away from him and into a broken heap on the ground. "Oh... That attack. I had the misfortune of being scheduled for a game just before it happened." The star striker/golden goalie of Taiyo begins to back up as he continues. "I didn't even know about the attack until we got back. Made our win seem worthless because of it. What's the good of winning on the soccer field for your school when your school is being attacked?"
It was probably a good thing that Roberto backed up since it just barely gave him enough time to react when Choi sprung to his feet his hands blurring once again to keep up with furious claw combo and finding more bits of his sleeve fluttering to the ground.
When Choi's attack finally ends, Roberto retaliates by leaping forward as brings a powerful knee to Choi's chest.
COMBATSYS: Choi dodges Roberto's Heavy Kick.

Choi 0/-------/-------|=======\=------\1 Roberto
Well, Choi's fighting spirit was back it seems. Grunting, he sways to the side, easily evading the single strong kick. And now, he was going to pull a gamble. Yeah, he just burned his reserve. Yeah, he didn't have much energy or endurance left. But he had not been very successful in this battle, and he didn't expect to take him out swiftly. This was going to be a battle based on luck.
Choi was doomed.
As Roberto was recovering, Choi began to spin like a top. Claws out, he began to whirl around the soccer player, energy coursing through his claws. Hopefully, just hopefully, he didn't have any more tricks. Otherwise, Choi would be in a world of hurt. Again.
COMBATSYS: Roberto reflects Tatsumaki Shippuu Zan from Choi with Shining Clutch.

Choi 0/-------/---====|=======\===----\1 Roberto
Roberto still did have a few tricks his sleeve. As Choi started to whirl around, Roberto's glove clad hands began to glow and he approaches this attack from a different angle. He uses one hand to reach for the claws relying on his own chi to protect both himself and his glove and uses the grab to hold Choi in front of him while the other glowing hand draws in Choi's chi like vacuum forming it into a ball the size of a soccer ball before side arming the gathered energy from Choi's attack and driving it into his side. It would appear that Roberto's own luck is holding up.
Unfortunately for Choi, it seems that HIS luck was holding up as well.
Choi felt his energy being redirected. And then it is smashed right into him. Flailing through the air like a broken toy, he collapses on the ground. There was no way he could keep this up. But he did anyways. He rises again, force of will still burning, if very low. Jumping through the air right back at Roberto, he opens his arms wide, trying to tackle him. Whether or not he would be conscious by the time he reached him is a whole matter entirely.
COMBATSYS: Choi can no longer fight.

Roberto was illprepared for the smaller fighter's leap at him. The wild nature of the attack just made it so completely unpredictable that he couldn't guard or in any way shape or form defend against it. The soccer star is knocked clear off of his feet and remains in a daze for a few moments before he rises back to his feet.
He takes a deep breath before looking at the unconscious claw fighter. "Sorry I wasn't there to help you during that attack." With that he bows and then is on his way to locker rooms and clean up.
The fight did nothing but serve as reminder of the time he wasn't there to help. Even if he didn't know it would happen the moment he got on the bus, it still is something that weighs heavily on his mind.
COMBATSYS: Roberto has ended the fight here.
