Description: A Neo League fight featuring the rising star and superheroine Hurricane Hime against the cold and calculating Ikari Warrior Leona. A fight of two opponents not leaving much of an opening while trying to find a perfect time to land that perfect attack on one another. ( Winner: Leona )
Today a battle.. No. Today a battel is to take place. Some people believe it will take place in the United States. Others believe it will take place in Canada. There's some confusion until the locale is chosen; and the place in question is the 'Haskell Free Library and Opera House'. Not inside, however, but outside.. Outside RIGHT on the boarder of Vermont and Quebec. It's a pretty nice day out, if not a bit chilly, and the side of the building doesn't have a lot to offer visually. It's just a big green yard next to a rather gorgeous building. So it's been spruced up a bit so that an oversized replica of a wooden chessboard is in place, with the chess pieces (made of stone) are scattered all about the board. No particular famous positioning here. Standing atop of the black rook is the amazing, astounding.
"Hurricaaaaaaaaaaaaaane!! Himeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" Her rook is on the Canada side of the board. She's dressed as she always is, bright colored pink scarf and black bodysuit with plenty of pink stripes along the front. She's sent out a challenge to Leona. Why? Hahah, why indeed. As a saikyo fighter, she needs to keep up on what her master is doing after all! "Bring forth my opponent, and let us fight! No first, tremble before my mighty pose.. -Then- fight! SHYAAAAH!" she flips, balancing herself on one hand, one knee bent and the other leg pointing straight up in the air. "Justice.. POSE!"
The cooler weather of the area is a rather nice break from the usual hot and humid climate that the Ikari usually have to deal with. Vermont is a rather pretty state to begin with from the short time that Leona has spent before the fight was to take place. It was very quaint to say the least and people were rather easy going. It isn't often where the rather stern and serious Ikari woman time to relax.
Of course the time to relax was over as the battle was finally set to begin right on the border of the US and Canada. Saikyo seems to do nothing but produce rather loud and boisterous fighters from what Leona has experienced. Of course she knows Dan perhaps a bit better than she likes to admit so seeing this Hurricane Hime's bravado shouldn't really surprise Leona at all. Unlike Himeko she is very quiet and seems to be studying the landscape before the other fighter appears and her gaze shifts to look over Himeko. "You at least have the confidence of Dan." she finally says and she reaches up to pull her dogtags from around her neck as she starts to tie her hair up into a loose ponytail. "Let us see what else you have learned from him."

".. Huh? Woah..." Hime replies from her upside-down position, blinking not once.. But twice at her opponent. ".. You looked shorter in the pictures." she notes.
She doesn't mimic Leona's actions, as her hair is too short anyway, but when she flips off of the structure and lands in a crouch, a gust of wind sends her oversized scarf flapping wildly. "Well, you seem like a nice enough person, so I'll go ahead and offer you a little bit of advice. Though you may already know this, when you're battling Hurricane Himeko the best strategy is to expect.." she flashes a 'v' at her eyes, "The unexpected! So are you ready? I sure hope you're ready because I'm ready HERE WE GO!!"
She comes forth with her usual opener, leaping up high at the woman, and twists in the air, trying to aim a flying back-kick toward the soldier woman, "Immortal Kick!!"

"I will be sure to take your advice." the Ikari woman replies calmly. Now if she really takes the words to heart is to be seen. Of course Leona takes almost every fight seriously. It is the main reason why she knows how people like Dan can truely be dangerous fighters despite not truely realizing it is in a way totally opposite of how they think they are. Saikyo isn't dangerous because Dan is a great fighter. It is dangerous because people like Dan and probably this Himeko through caution in the wind and will do whatever they want as long as they impress themselves or someone else in the process.
Of course all this overanalyzing is pushed back out of Leona's thoughts when it seems that Himeko is finally ready to strike rather quickly. Instead of moving to get out of the way Leona instead ducks a bit lower while bring her arms to absorb the blow and not even being knocked back a step by the kick. "Very well. I shall begin then as well." And with that the Ikari reaches to grab Himeko right by the hair and then twist about to use her momentum to pick the other fighter up and spike her head first off the ground.

Hime claims herself to be a Saikyo prodigy but. She's not even a black belt in the art yet. But she's been climbing the ranks pretty quickly. .. Does.. That even mean anything in the long run? Who knows but it makes her pretty confident for sure! But Hime is a nerd at heart; even a nutso needs a bit of strategy and when she's suddenly lifted up by her hair, "YEOW!!" and thrust downward? Well luckily Leona didn't take into account her hair has some grease in it. She slips out at the last moment and rolls away like a little ball off to the side without suffering too much impact from the ground, "Ya-Hooooooooi!!"
Actually.. Yeah that kind of hurt. Unrolling from the strike, she turns to face the Ikari and of course comes out swinging again sort of. She dashes into a slide, trying to tag Leona's leg along the way and if she's successful, she'll find her ankle wrapped up in a link of paper. Holding the other end would be Hime of course, "Fire!!" She snaps the 'rope' like a whip, and should the shockwave reach Leona, it'd snap her into the air and slam her onto the board pretty violently.

The younger fighter certainly shows that she is crafty to an extent. She managed to slip free from the usual strong grip of Leona and avoid the full impact of that toss. The Ikari is quick to take back up her stance by the time Himeko is dashing in. She has no clue what the girl may be trying, but she isn't going to give Himeko a chance to tag her leg like she is attempting to do.
Leona can be rather quick when she chooses to be despite often wanting to take things head on. She leaps back quickly away from the other fighter, her hand reaching up for the earring attached to her left lobe to quickly detach it and then give it a quick toss in the direction of the Saikyo prodigy. Ground or girl the result is a small explosion once that earring impacts with something.

"Ack!" Hime gasps, scrambling to get back into her own defensive position.. She should have known that Leona would be quicker than she looked but that's fine, she can work around that! .. She thinks. She's never faced a real soldier before, but it's only clear after the sudden explosion that she needs to step things up and she gives a "YEEAARGH!" when the thing just EXPLODES and sends her tumbling back.
She stands up, the front of her clothes and her face black from explosion ash. ".... Ok, *cough* I have to admit.. That.. That was COOL. I didn't see that coming!" she cries with a grin and gives Leona an approving thumbs up. But she's not gonna stand there much longer, in fact the superheroine is dashing at Leona once more, this time with the intent of getting a hold of Leona's wrist and forearm. If she can, the girl is going to use both strength and serious leverage to turn around and slam Leona to the ground with a single-arm seoi nage. "Try some of this!" and if it lands she strikes a pose, a hand on her hip and a 'v' at her eyes again, "Yosh!!"

There is just a slight nod towards Himeko when the younger fighter comments about not expecting that sort of attack. "Few rarely do." Ralf and Clark may rely on brute strength to impress and win, but Leona is fine with sticking to elements of surprise at time combined with what her adopted father had taught her. Of course using such an attack like that earring over the years has also meant alot more people are wary of anything the Ikari might throw at them.
Leona steps forward when Himeko comes at her and the mercenary starts to bring her arm forward to slash at Himeko rather quickly only to have that arm instead grabbed and the smaller fighter manages to pull the rather stout Ikari off her feet. Leona manages to twist about some while in the air and when she is brought down she lands hard on her knees and she quickly bounces back onto her feet. "Not bad."
Hurricane Hime.. She doesn't even care. Ok sure, she just got BLOWN UP by an earring, but at this point she's way more excited about seeing what else Leona may have in store more than being afraid of a more painful experience. Much to her dismay, Leona seems to be very skilled with being thrown as well.. It was kind of suspicious really, and turning back to face Leona she asks, "Hey.. Hey! I have a question for you! I want to know.. ABOUT YOUR PAST!" she cries dramatically. One could almost hear the DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNN.
"And my question is.. Are you a former student of Dan-sensei?? Your skills, they're sharp.. I'd say a little TOO SHARP, actually!" and as she asks this she blasts forward and borrows a page out of Blanka's book; curling into a black and pink ball of Saikyo Justice and plain out barrels toward the blue-haired female in mid-air. "But first a word from our sponser: JUSTICE ROLLIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!" 'DX' face.

The question of wanting to know about Leona's past just makes the mercenary narrow her eyes a little. Not because she feels incredulous about the girl asking if she is a student of Dan, but because trying to think about her past often just makes her feel uneasy. Mostly from the years of her early childhood that are a complete blank. "No, I was raised a soldier. Dan is an aquaintence I have met long ago as the Master's tourney."
Her explanation doesn't go much longer since she is soon dealing with a mini Blanka ball that hurtles towards her. This time she decides it best to just raise her arms again to absorb the brunt of the blow and once Himeko unfurls she will soon be meant with a gloved fist aimed right for the girl's gut. "He is currently working with me after accepting an offer he couldn't refused."

".. What? A soldier? Well.. I guess that makes sense.." Hime says, clearly not very.. Impressed by the answer. I mean sure, Leona's tough but that wasn't a very exciting origin. Very NOT exciting. Like this woman! But her moves were cool. ".. I dunno, if you ask me, I think you should become his student for a little while." She whips her book out from her oversized scarf, thrusting it out in front of her and with a *WHAP* there's some serious impact.. But it doesn't bust through her mini-shield! And she reaches into it while firing herself up!
"Your charisma needs some work.. No, it needs a LOT of work! I mean, man, it is like I am fighting Ben Stein over here!" The girl backflips, and in mid flip, she tears three pages out of her book. After being lit up with white energy, they're thrown toward Leona, folding up into paper airplanes to crash bump into the woman! Though the papers would crumple easily if they hit hit.

There is no arguement there, Leona very rarely shows any sort of charisma. It is a rarity to see anything that even resembles a smile and if one is lucky they might catch a smirk from her from time to time. "Being charismatic isn't my job." she says in reply as she seems unsure what to do about the energy infused paper airplanes that rush towards her.
Finally she decides to just rush through it and a hand lashes out to cut a few planes in half and out of the air while a few more hit her as she barrels forward, her body taking to the air as she twists about and brings the heel of her boot downwards to smack across the face of the other fighter.

Hurricane Hime ponders the response for a moment.. Because a moment is really all she has after her attack. ".. Hmn.. Not your job, not your job.. Mmmmmnngh.." she crosses her arms and tilts her head a bit. She can't decide if she approves or not.. Not that she has a lot of time to decide because soon a biiiig ol kick is coming her way, and her trusty Excalibook is withdrawn and the foot SLAMS into that instead, causing her to stagger back and falls onto her bottom from the force. Her arms will be feeling that one for a bit!
She springs up to her feet again, the book withdrawn and this time comes in without any weapons in hand. "Pah! It's been scientifically proven that being charismatic makes you TOP TIER!!" She skips from side to side, and then tries to slip behind Leona, jumping up to slip her small arm about the womans neck to get her into a sleeperhold. For a small girl, she's got a suprisingly tough grip, Leona may find. Though to add a little more to it she ocassionally kicks her legs back to drive her knees into her back. "You don't want to be middle tier all your life, do you?? C'mon, be TOP TIER! Like me!!" ':D' face.

Middle and top tier? Really some people probably do care about some notions while others like Himeko have delusions of grandeur where they think they are greater than everyone. It seems she has been learning alot from Dan. Perhaps she should have a talk to him about such things. That is if she thinks she could even get anything through that Dan sized ego of his.
There is no verbal response and instead Leona keeps her attention focused on Hime and when Himeko leaps on to try to throw on the sleeperhold she almost catches a rather vicious elbow to the head that she should be thankful for avoiding. Instead she is swung about and as she hangs there on Leona the mercenary doesn't seem to be getting too worn down from the hold. "Are you done?"
"Raarrgh!! Nnnggh!! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Hime yells in her death hold of DOOM. Well, that is until Leona speak to her. There's a sweatdrop that runs down the side of her face. ".. Uh. Well.. I uh.. About that. Uhh.. Y- Yeah..." she lets the hold go, drops to the floor, and adjusts her scarf.
"Hmmph.. Ok, you're better attuned to grappling than I expected. I guess it's time for me to trump things with my kicks of justice, huh? Ehh???" And she just goes nuts. She starts with a hopping sobat kick, and then two snap kicks at the woman's knees. Assuming that combination hits, she follows up with a single back kick, and then jerks forward with her elbow extended. "Take this! This, and finally summa these!! Hyaaaooh!!" Again she seems completely and blisfully unaware of yet another brush with death. Though she is death defying anyway!

The mercenary rolls her broad shoulders once the other fighter lets go and she turns about while nodding. "Thank you." If anything the girl has alot of energy and Leona is surprised she has managed to hang with the likes of an Ikari Warrior for so long. Dan at least fills his fighters full of dumb courage and plenty of tenacity before releasing them into certain doom.
She only gives another nod while preparing for those powerful kicks that Himeko aims towards her. One that is met with Leona stepping into it and letting it plant into her waist while she brings her hands back while they crackle with green energy. She then thrusts forward as they create a green orb of energy that crackles before Himeko at first then eventually explodes into spikes of energy as Leona leaps away.

"Don't mention it!" Hime replies with a big, cheesy grin. But then her expression straightens, ".. Uh no, seriously, don't mention it. That was pretty embarrassing." as she scritches her cheek. Well then, she's back to bouncing lightly on her feet, waiting to see what else Leona has in store, while she herself is breathing a bit heavily now- Man.. Leona, she just.. Doesn't look tired at all, it's really like she's fighting a cyborg or something! The burst of energy that comes out of nowhere though? Well, she was apparently ready for that as that energy ends up slamming hard into a withdrawn Excalibook, that she just kind of crouches behind with an 'Ack!!!'.
"Sheesh, they sure raise them tough in the army! Were you a lesser man you'd be on your knees begging for mercy by now. This.. This is crazy! Maybe I should join the army, right? If they have go-karts I am IN!" Hime cries, not willing to give up just yet! Instead of striking, she decides to try to go for some more tricks after putting her now steaming and frazzed book away. "It'd be like Ridge Racer!!" Withdrawing sheets of papers from her holster, she dives forward and slides on the ground to try to grasp at Leona's ankles again. If that works, suddenly Leona would find herself spinning like a top while the papers build up and completely mummify her. Spinning spinning spinning! "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide RACER!" And the papers burst with bright white energy, wanting to squeeeeeeze the woman, then twist abruptly in four different directions as if wringing out a wet cloth. *CRICK*

Leona just offers a shake of her head. "Not part of the army. The Ikari Warriors are a mercenary units of sorts." she explains to the younger fighter even as she crouches low to see what might be in store for her soon. Her movements are graceful as she moves to dive to the left and she plants her hand onto the ground before doing a single handed stand to avoid the incoming attack and use her momentum to continue over to land on her feet. "We only contract ourselves to causes we deem worthy."
She seems to be done talking for now. There is no reason to try to explain things further to someone that truely wouldn't understand how things work for the military. She is much too exciteable to realize that she would too bored being up at five every morning for training and not stopping till late in the evening. Forward Leona lunges again to close the distance between herself and Himeko while reaching to grasp for the girl's scarf and then pivot hard on a foot to swing Himeko about and toss her aside.

Hurricane Hime erks! Well she's learned something today. She can't keep a good hold on Leona's ankles so she should probably stop targeting there for a little while. Only a little though! She does wonder if being an Ikari really is cool or not.. In fact now that she thinks about it, they were in nearly every tournament though, weren't they!! But she'd never admit she never paid a lot of attention to them because none of them were really amusing. Ralf was, but he was rediculously intimidating. D: Hime's scarf isn't hard to get a hold of. With a "GLLLK!" she's grabbed and flung off to the side, crashing into a pawn and knocking it and herself over. "Ooof!!!"
Well.. She's back on her feet though, panting lightly, but taking it to the extreme! She's gotta at this point because well.. She's gotta! "Time for me to switch to my country feet! HRrAAAGH!!" she whips open Excalibook, and the thing starts glowing like crazy! First three papers come ripping out in an arrow formation, then six, and then finally a mob of twelve, all glowing with bright energy and suicide diving at the Ikari! "I guess that sounds ok, but yeaaaaah I'll stick with being a superhero! Also: Orryaaa ya ya ya ya YAAAA!!!"

There is a bit of a sigh or relief that escapes Leona when Himeko decides not to inquire further about the Ikari. It is not a line of work someone like Himeko should ever try. If she thinks Leona is bad she has yet to meet the boisterous Ralf or even Clark for that matter. Being a superhero is just fine for a student of Saikyo and hopefully her antics won't get her too hurt.
Finally for the first time in awhile Leona feels like she finally managed to do some damage to the younger fighter. She really needs to clean off the rust before she gets embarassed by someone. Yet this has been a nice change of pace fighting someone so eager to make a name for themself. Still perhaps it is time to try and finish this off or at least try to. She stands her ground as the waves of chi infused paper peppers her all over. Once it seems to be done the Ikari explodes forward, her own hands flashing with energy as she swings them about to create a large swath of energy intent on engulfing Himeko.

It was a good throw, that much was for certain but it may be clear that at this point, even if she isn't really showing it in her face, she's getting frustrated. It's really a good thing Leona is on the 'Goody Guy' team because man she would be way too tough a villain! So she takes a moment to set her hands on her knees and start huffing for air after that blast of hers. No rest for the weary though, the little heroine squeaks in surprise and.. Surprise surprise, the flashing, bright energy isn't from engulfing Hime as much as it should be.. She is lost briefly, but when the brightness clears, there she is with a more singed up Excalibook, and her eyes burn with determination. ".. Nnngh! Ok, the set-up is complete, *gasp* and now for the combination of doom! TaaAAAAKE THIS!"
Hime springs toward Leona, withdrawing her oversized harrisen fan from her fannypack and the tip ignites with a burst of white energy. She swings the energy up at Leona, twisting in the air with her uppercut motion- It'd have enough force to lift her off the ground; and then she slings the fan forward, it extending to wrap around the mercenaries ankle, and with a fierce tug, slam her back down onto the ground!! Assuming this all goes off, another pose is struck, dropping into a crouch. "OSHHYAAAAAAAAAAH!! *huff huff*... *huuuuuff*.."

It does seem that Himeko should have taken her own advice and avoid going for the Ikari's ankles. Given her defensive posture going low is only asking for trouble it would seem and Himeko finally finds that out. Even at first it seems like all is going as planned as the ankle is grasped and Himeko tugs hard to take Leona off her feet. The Ikari uses her agilty to just filp about and land on one knee then push off quickly as HImeko strikes that pose to slash hard across her backside with enough force to actually cut a clean wound and rip clothing. "You left yourself opened."
YEAH!! Once Hime lands the first hit, she's so confident that the rest will fall togeather like clockwork that she's grinning like a maniac.. But is a bit slow to realize that Leona isn't landing the way she wanted at first. She blinks in puzzlement, not catching on until she looks over her shoulder and it's.. Ooooooooh it is too late! "YRRRRRRRRGH!!" Her book doesn't save her this time as the strike indeed cuts into the heroine and sends her flying forward, crashing off of a Queen that just so happens to be in her way with a *thmp*!! But she grips it almost desperatly to keep from falling forward. "*huff* D- Dang.. All right.. But I still have one move left.. My big finisher! Haha, all right!!"
She looks pretty bushed, but she clenches her hands into fists, and gives out a mighty Kenji-style kai-ai, "HaaAAAAAAA!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!" Her scarf bursts upward as she looks over her shoulders, "ORYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" and FOOM! She races at Leona with a light white aura about her body, vision blurred and it looks like blood is running down her back, not that she can see it. "TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY FEET!!" once she's close she springs at Leona with her knee extended again, two side kicks, but then just goes berserk with a flurry of high and low roundhouse kicks and front kicks, finishing off the combination with a burst upward, once again the bright pillar of energy is guided upward. "YEAH, BA- *hlk*" At the combo's end, she collapses to the floor, sweat practically pouring down her face and wheezing. "D- Did I get her?"

The Ikari perhaps used more excessive force than need be to finish off Himeko, but in the end it was enough from the looks of it. She is surprised that Himeko even gets up after that strike as she watches the gathering of energy around the younger fighter. It seems like there is no time to relax just yet as the Ikari prepares for what is to come.
It is a strong attack at that, just one that seems to be a big misguided by fatigue as Leona manages to easily bob and weave backwards to avoid the strikes and keep her footing with no issues while avoiding Himeko's attack entirely. Her breathing is heavier than normal, but she still doesn't look too worn out in comparison as she turns about and reaches to pull the dogtags loose from her hair. "Dan is teaching you well. You just need to be more careful." she tells the girl while draping the tags back around her neck and then turning back about to face Himeko and saluting the girl. "Another time, perhaps."
COMBATSYS: Leona has ended the fight here.
Himeko.. She can't help but smile there. She grins to Leona with a tired smile, and gives a lazy salute in turn. She's just going to rest here a bit.. And then it's to the library for her, "O- Ok!! I.. I'm fine with.. Him hanging with.. You... *huff*" and then just flops. Man, that was a heck of a fight, much harder than usual for her! And the winner is declared, the audience cheering!! Though it doesnt look like Leona's going to stick around to bathe in the glory!
