Description: Gabriel and Kiyoko have a showdown in the woods near Justice High. Gabriel proves that she can see right through Kiyoko's evasive actions easily, and can even turn her own fighting style against her! (Winner: Gabriel)
Its been a while since Kiyoko had a fight in the Neo League. In truth she hadnt done very many fights in the League at all, and was still a relative newcomer to the scene. Shed had her share of shares of fights on Saturday Night Fight, but the smaller, more intimate tournament ring was a bit more unknown to her.
Thats something that needs fixing, so realizes not only the girl herself but also the managers of the NL. With the new season started up theres no better time to try to get into it than now, and so thats exactly whats going to happen.
Set in the forest outside of Justice High, cameramen stand around and check their equipment, making sure that the trees are never able to fully occlude anyone standing in the designated fighting area. The setup is simple and obvious, a showdown between two teenagers in the woods.
Kiyoko is currently amongst the trees, clad in full Tai Chi regalia and doing a light workout, moving in slow fluid motions that seem almost graceful enough to be an eastern dance rather than a martial arts routine. She decided to show up to this fight without finding out who her opponent was going to be, wanting to be surprised.
Gabriel never gives these things much thought as to who. All opponents were more or less the same to her as far as anyone could tell. She always showed up early and took kthat time stretching or meditating. Today was no different. She was early and she was stretching. She usually dressed i nnice clothes, once again, this is the case. She also often didn't go about showing any emotion, no excitement, nothing. This was true too this time. Gabriel was there, early, the crowd mstly ignored her. She had some fans, but only the ones who liked the stoic out there types. There was always someone who would go for the exception. Those peoeplee wewre her bread and buter.
As things start to get near to ready she stands and stretches then takes a stance.
If Kiyoko has fans they keep it to themselves. Maybe she does have some people rooting her on at home, but real diehard Kiyoko fanatics? Shed be pretty surprised if she ever saw one of those. Shes just a girl, a fan herself that shows some fighting talent. Red lights on the cameras start to blink on, telling her that the fight is probably going to start pretty soon.
Finally she walks over to where she knows her opponent has been since she got here, giving the blonde a friendly wave. Konnichiwa! Im going to be your partner today. As she gets closer she stops and tilts her head, Do I... know you from somewhere? The purple haired girl tilts her head to the side.
Gabriel did not recall having met this girl and answers thus.
"I do not recall having met you," the rather stoic young woman replies. She considers the girl here. Purple hair is weird, actually a lot of things about her are kind of weird, but Gabriel has seen that sort of things on people who weren't so bad. Megumi for instance has pink hair and Gabriel didn't totally hate her or anything, though she was a little powerful which bothered the crusader some.
"I am Kai Gabiel, I shall be your opponent."

Oh. Hmm, I think Ive seen you from somewhere... The girl breaks into a smile and shrugs, It must have been on TV. I try to keep up to date on whos who. Kiyoko convinces herself that his must be whats causing her to recognize Gabriel. Im Fukakami Kiyoko, nice to meet you. A quick bow is given. Gabriel seems somewhat... stiff. Hard and inflexible? The way she acts reminds her a bit of Acacia, but only slightly. Acacia had a bit of dry, sarcastic wit about her, and so far theres none of that from Gabriel.
The girl gives a quick look over to the cameramen, who give her a thumbs up. Okay! She drops down into a very low, backward stance, one leg forward and straight, the other backwards and bent at the knee, her arms held in front of herself. Lets see what youre made of, Kai Gabriel! Shes going to give the other girl the first strike if she wants it, but anyone with even a somewhat trained eye can tell shes examining the fighter with intense scrutiny.

Gabriel had nothing to prove to anyone, shee didn't have the look of someone who felt likee she did either, but she did put as much effort into her fight as you might of expected someone would. This was going to be one of those fights. She didn't bother giving a response to the call to action, except to actually move in and go to action. What sort of girl was this, Gabriel seemed to wonder. Gabriel seemed to think she looked frail, but all the same goes for a grab followed by a rough toss.
After that she speaks, "I think you are a student at Justice High.

Kiyoko had things to prove... but to herself, not to fans other fighters or anyone else. She had recently struggled with herself to try and find out whether she should keep fighting competitively at all, and in the end decided it was worth it. She wasnt really looking to validate her decision... but if that happened she wouldnt be put off by it.
Gabriel comes in to try and throw her hard to the ground, and once the blonde is in close she quickly swings her left hand upward and to the left. With a sharp cry of, "Spring Blossom!" green chi forms over her hand, hanging in the air as the limb moves in order to leave a crescent of energy hanging, which shoots forward quickly. The lack of range means it hits instantly, blasting into Gabriel, even as she lifts the girl off her feet and sends her plummeting downward. No doubt the impact of chi would have weakened the strength of the toss... but even so it seemed to be a fair trade.
The girl rolls to her feet easily and blinks, "I am! ...are you?"
Gabriel is hit, but she only looks mildly put off by that. A stagger back and then a careful consideratoin of Kiyoko is enough to set her to do.. The exact same attack again, trying to get a grip on Kiyoko annd slam her rather hard over onto the ground, with a swinging around of her hips and body. This is clearly meant to be a serious strike, a serious attempt to hit Kiyoko on the ground.
Needless to say Gabriel doesn't seem too bothered taking the chance of the exact same outcome again, but who knows, maybe something different will happen this time.

Kiyoko blinks as Gabriel comes in for the same maneuver twice in a row, without even having to worry that the girl smacked her for it the first time. Its not that shes trying to grab her again, its that shes doing it the /exact/ same way. What the?
The hold is made easily enough, but as shes being thrown towards the ground she manages to slip partially out of Gabriels grip, twisting so that her feet hit the ground first so that she can drop down into an over the shoulder roll, lessening the power of the blow.
She pops back up quickly again and turns to face her. Her forehead wrinkles slightly in a thoughtful look, and she moves towards Gabriel quickly. Once close her right hand comes up and swings hard, a circular, horizontal chop being swung at the young womans neck.

In response Gabriel merely moves out of the way, but given the way that the attacks have been coming in.. Gabriel soon changes direction and instead of going away, charges straight at her opponent, aiming to leap into the air and somehow perch on the shoulders of the smaller girl and then throw a handful of purple chi into her face before making a back kick flip off. This seems a rather difficult move to reliably pull off especially with the difference in size between her and her opponent.
She also gives a small cry of "confess" which happens to e something she does, but in this case it is a bit under her breath.

Its Super Effective! Caught off guard by the sudden change of pace, Kiyoko is left having a bit of a hard time recovering from her attack. She tries to twist out of the way as Gabriel jumps at her, only to be landed on while her balance is way too far back. The toss of chi splats into her face and causes her to wince, and the flip off shoves her roughly into the underbrush.
Gritting her teeth, the girl picks herself up and takes a breath. Okay, this isnt going to be as easy as all that, is it? She rushes at Gabriel once she finally gets back up, trying to grab her arm so that she can put her back to her and lean forward, flipping her over her shoulder and slam her to the ground in a very judo, unpracticed slam.

Gabriel dancse out of reach, keeping her distance from Kiyoko quickly on her feet, then, without warning she moves in again for a sudden attack, a palm thrust jab sort of attack, give herself some breathing room. Though Gabriel is a terrible conversationalist. She isn't making any attempt at all be talk, she's just putting her efforts into attacking attacking attacking.
The crusader of light falls back into a guarding stance, but having taken part of Kiyoko's style, has started moving a bit lighter on her feet, tending to move more fluidly and gracefully than before. Her green eyes narrow as she tries to ready herself for the next response.

Seeing Gabriel go into a very defensive posture, Kiyoko doesnt try to move out of the way as the blonde sends a fast attack at her, but instead steps forward into it, trying to shrug off the pain of the blow and swing hard with her arms to try and beat her around with quick circular strikes with the edges of her hands. However, she takes the blow to the chin, her head snapping back and throwing her posture and vision off, the first couple swings missing the blonde completely. She aborts the attack there, knowing that if she continues on shes only going to leave herself completely open to any reprisal Gabriel might have ready.
Gabriel pushese on , bringing up her hand and making another quick palm thrust. Pivoting with her hips, she manages to swing the opposite way, use the other hand and include a bit of purple chi this time in the fast intending attack. Her green eyes narrow and takingn on the flash of the energy while watching her opponent, Kiyoko, to see how she responds.
It all happens so fast as she tries to press her advantage as far as she can against her opponent. Meanwhile the crowd, whomever showed up, was at least getting their money worth out of a more or less free fight.

Since her last attempt didnt work out at all Kiyoko doesnt even try such a thing again, dealing with the charged palmstrike in the easiest way possible- lifting up her arm and letting it impact her there. It hits her right forearm and twists her sideways. In order to strike while the not letting the blow slow her down she continues to twist, shooting her left fist forward in a quick, straight jab at Gabriels jaw.

But Gabriel was still copying Kiyoko's own style and thus manages to evade it easily enough, then with the ensuing movement, draws her foot to make a sweeping kick toward Kiyoko's shin. It isn't intended to be soft or easy, but the sort of attack you do to take someone off guard, off balance entirely. Not a sweep, more a slightly tripping up motion. A quicker kick, but also somewhat light.

Kiyoko hops up and over the low kick when its sent her way. She frowns slightly to herself as she tries to figure out how to finally lay her hands on Gabriel, the blonde seemingly dancing around her and holding off everything she manages to send her way. She shakes her head a little, and then steps forward, suddenly rolling up onto her hands. Her legs stretch forward, trying to grip around her neck with them. If she gets hold shell throw her weight backwards, trying to rip Gabriel off her feet and slam her down onto her back.

Well eventually the dodging had to end. Gabriel rolls with the throw but makes no attempt to dodge this one, not this time. Instead she comes up hard and fast, moving into a full force double palm strike toward Kiyoko. She aims it seems both arms at her chest to send her back with reckless abandon and quite a fierce strike, directly toward her strunum.

Seeing the hard punch being sent her way, Kiyoko grits her teeth and decides that she really needs to get away from it. She ducks down and prepares to leap backwards with great speed. Only at just that moment the double palmstrike comes in, smashing her directly in the face. Predictably she falls backwards, slamming hard into the ground. Shes down for longer this time, prodding her face gently, feeling rather sore. She frowns at her performance, and then finally gets back up. Okay, thats it! Youre really good, but youre not going to make a fool of me any more!
With that said she leaps at Gabriel, jumping at her with both feet extended, trying to land solidly on her chest...

At the very least Kiyoko manages to hit Gabriel solidly, and with that done she twists around, her legs reaching to encircle the blondes neck. With her hold made she flips herself backwards, slamming both herself and Gabriel into the ground. The impact is harsh, but the fun isnt over yet. Using the slight rebound and bounce of impact she flips back into the air, dragging the young woman up with her, only to come painfully back towards the dirt, slamming her into it. She repeats this two more times, and then tries to roll away and get back to her feet, panting lightly.
After Gabriel has to pick herself out of the dirt and dust herself off, Gabriel wastes no time flat. She turns her attention to Kiyoko and decides it is time to finish it. She draws a long shard of glass, the length and size of a sword out of her jacket, cuts her hand doing it too. While her blood runs down the length of the glass before she makes a slash at Kiyoko. She seems intent on finishing this once and for all and rather wickedly at that.
"This is over." Gabriel states, before she even knows if the slash connects.

Thinking that the slow attack coming her way isnt going to be too horribly hard to escape, the purple haired student narrows her eyes, watching Gabriel closely before leaping high into the air. ...only to have the glass come crashing down on the top of her skull. The impact is incredibly gruesome, slashing open her scalp and driving her down into the ground. The impact is hard enough to completely shatter the glass, sending shards flying everywhere.
And so it ends, Kiyoko lying on the ground and holding her head with a horrified look on her face, blood streaming down everywhere. Scalp wounds bleed a ridiculous amount compared to cuts other places on the body- the audience will learn something new today!

Gabriel just turns and starts to leave, now the shard of glass has two people's blood on it. The audience doesn't applaud, the end to that fight was just way too gruesome.
