Description: Rather than head to Pacific, Yurika makes a request for Ol' Rusty to meet her on Seijyun grounds. It's an experience he likely won't forget for some time.
When one looks at Gedo grounds, and then Seijyun ground, the difference is clear.. For oh-so-many reasons. But much to a certain Yurika Kirishima's suprise, there actually were -still- female students within the place and, as such, didn't have much choice but to include them with her plans.
Sure, it's a school that's been pretty much cleaning up its reputation, perhaps, but one still can't shake off that the two schools are polar opposites. At least that's what the musician's opinion of it all is. But, there are some diamonds in the rough that particularly caught her interest and so she made a simple plan: Just walk in, find the student in question, settle business in under two minutes, and then head back out.
Yurika stands out; it can't be helped considering she's in her frilly and brightly colored school uniform, but perhaps she's timed it in such a way that there'd be fewer punks to bother her. The only issue is, however, she didn't fully plan out how exactly she was going to find the person she's looking for, she's not familiar with how things really work on these ground which forces her plan to more or less be 'stand at the school gate and wait'. At least she can pass the time reading a romance novel she brought along, however.
The arrival of an unfamiliar girl on Gedo grounds is, as a rule, not something that happens often. Those amongst the student body who have girlfriends or otherwise associate with young women outside of Gedo's own small handful thereof, generally don't bring them around, for obvious reasons. So the sight of a proper young lady at the gates of Gedo High occasions no small comment among the students who are still on the grounds, mostly various members of the gang.
Unfortunately (?) for Yurika, the first person to actually approach her position at the gate is not one of Gedo's few female students, but instead one of its most famous - or maybe infamous, depending on who you ask - male ones: The Guardian King leader, Tenma Kiryuu. In fact, the reason he's come first is that a group of other boys went and alerted him to the presence of a woman of means, since usually when a girl shows up at Gedo they're looking to beat him up.
"You look a little out of place," says a voice, loud and strident; that would be Tenma himself, standing in his modified school uniform - slacks, red t-shirt with the Gedo High logo on it, and an unbuttoned short-sleeved dress shirt with Gedo collar pins overtop - with his cloth-wrapped bokken slung across his shoulders, both arms hooked over the lengthy weapon casually. "Waitin' for your boyfriend, Princess?" he wonders, a wolfish grin on his face. "Guess the uptight classy types really do prefer bad boys."
It's perhaps been the longest half-hour in her life. Or maybe it was a little less? Either way, when she hears Tenma's voice, her gloved hand snaps the book shut, and raises her head to reveal her rather dark eyes, along with perhaps a suprisingly pleasent smile. It's fake, of course.
But she couldn't say she didn't expect this to happen. At first. Once she gets a good look at the young student, the pale musician seems to pale slightly more. She withdraws a small folder from under her arm, flips through it rather quickly, and so the name matches up with the face inside it. This couldn't be right, could it?
'Hakuya Suigetsu: 5' 10" Black hair blue eyes. Leader of Guardian Kings. Likes samurai dramas.' her admittadly shoddy file says as well.
Her eyes fall upon the cloth wrapped weapon, it seems samurai-ish.. Yes, that about cinches it, it must the right person, hiding his true personality for some reason. But just to be safe... "S- So then.. Would I be correct in assuming that you are the leader of the Guardian Kings, then? You may call me Lady Yurika, I'm from Seijyun High school and just wished for a moment of your time." The prissy student wrinkles her nose slightly. "And not for marital matters, thank you very much."
Don't let Tenma see that file; he might get offended. For two different yet closely connected reasons.
However, the idea that Yurika is looking for /him/ for whatever reason, presumably related to his carefully accrued fame and fortune on the professional fighting circuit, reflects well on her in the arrogant boy's eyes. He tilts his head slightly to one side, the dark hair framing his face dangling under gravity's pull. "Yeah, that's me," Tenma agrees, pensively. Yes, he'd like to consider this an ego stroke, but /usually/ when people are looking for the 'leader of the Guardian Kings' it's to attack him for some poorly explained reason. But a fine, upstanding lady like this certainly couldn't have violent intent, could she? She's not some brawling tomboy like Marisol. Plus she goes to a classy school, such as it is.
A faint snort of amusement leaves the Gedo gang member at Yurika's prissy nose-wrinkling. "Who said anything 'bout marriage?" Tenma laughs. "An' I'll call you whatever I feel like, Princess," he adds, lifting his chin in insolent defiance. Lady, huh? Yeah right!
Yurika closes the folder then, her eyes closed as she silently counts to, what, seven or eight? Patience is clearly the key here, and she'll stick to it until the end, as bitter as she feels the end may be. When the open she gives a less patient smile, and she shakes her head, "Well that's fine, that will do as well. Allow me to just get straight to the point, then.."
The need to comment on his manner of speech was overwhelming; but she had a feeling approaching that head on would only be more problematic. "I confess I expected something a little more.. Proper, but I can understand you have a reputation to uphold here. I am currently in the process of organizing a pageant at Seijyun High school, it will be a mix of academic, social, and combat talent. Since it's to my understanding there are females here, it's essential, then that I also request for someone to represent as a Gedo judge. I..."
Yurika seems really hesitant to finish her sentance, but she does. "It's.. to my understanding that you would be the most qualified for an unbiased and .. Fair.. and least threateining judgement." The last line seems to be the most important. Does he follow so far?
Patience is not just a virtue, when dealing with Tenma Kiryuu; it is, in fact, a necessity. As Yurika gets 'straight to the point', though, the rough young man at least has the courtesy to listen, though his expression makes it unclear just what he thinks of what she has to say. He listens with that infuriating tilt to his head still in place, one brow arching and the corners of his mouth turning down in what might be a faint expression of disbelief.
Did she say 'pageeant'?
More importantly, did she just say she wanted /him/ to be a judge?
"Really, now." Tenma considers this, cracking his neck quietly as he rolls his head to one side, and then the other. "Well, y'know..." A though, of course, occurs to Tenma here; if it's a pageant, there must be a beauty element. This, naturally means hot girls, or so he would hope. So while his initial impulse is to be a jerk and turn Yurika down, further weighing of his options suggests that he might be better served playing nice. "Sure, why not?" the tall, slender young man says finally, nodding. "You got yourself a judge." And then he slips his right hand off of his bokken, holds it in front of him, and spits on his palm.
Then he offers his hand to Yurika to shake. IT'S HOW DEALS ARE MADE.
Well that was simple enough. Though then again, of course it would be, since she had no expectation of him turning down in the first place; the records made it clear to her that he wouldn't! The musician gives a relieved sigh regardless, though, her free hand raised to her chest. "Well, that is most certainly wonderful news. I have other judges from the other schools already so at this point all that's left is to hold a meeting to introduce everyone and lay down the guidelines of what to expect during this event. Which, by the way, is called 'Miss Teen Southtown'. I'm keeping the details low right now to prevent any information leaks before I'm ready. I'm sure you'd understand the concern."
Yurika's smile becomes more pleasent, but that expression faulters when the hand is offered. He.. he can't be serious. Her dark eyes just stare at the hand a moment, and she could swear she'd throw up right then and there. Instead she uses her hand to instead pinch at the front of her dress, and cross her legs into a graceful curtsey in return. ".. It's.. Been a pleasure. I'll keep you updated during the week."
Of course Tenma is serious. How does she expect to confirm a bargain without basic negotiating procedures like this? As the musician looks rather disgusted and offers hima curtsy of all things, Tenma just looks mildly confused and wipes his hand off on his pant leg. "Yeah, all right, fine," the Gedo swordsman says, sounding a little bit put out that she wouldn't shake his hand.
They must do things differently at Seijyun. Tenma, of course, suspects girl on girl action is involved.
"Just ask any of the students here if ya need to pass a message along to me," Tenma explains. "They all know where to find me." It's what comes of having become one of Gedo's most promiment students during the time Daigo Kazama was absent... And besides, does he really seem like the sort of person to just fade into the background?
Yurika is very thankful that Tenma doesn't press the invitation of shaking his hand. Honestly that's the most disgusting thing she'd ever seen. Once the rules are laid out, however, things shouldn't be so bad. Yes, this would certainly be the last time she meets 'Uncouth' Hakuya from this point. The last time indeed. Ew, he even wiped it on his pants!
Yurika coughs lightly into her hand, which is a subtle motion to keep from outright blanching to the young student. "V- Very well.. Thank you for your time then, I hope I didn't keep you from anything important." Which is a half-lie. "It should be an interesting event. And as I said before, I'll keep in touch. Adieu."
This time Yurika bows, and then turns around, a bit too quickly making her way from Gedo grounds.
The Seijyun girl's bow is met with a faint nod from Tenma, never one to show another person any sign he puts them 'above' himself. His right hand slips back up to hook over his sheathed bokken again, and he watches the musician leave with a curious expression. "Heh... Wonder if they're all weird at Seijyun," he mutters to himself. Considering the other Seijyun students he knows - Miu, Hotaru and Sada - his presumption about the student body there might be reasonable.
But, with Yurika leaving, Tenma is left to turn and head back towards the school. Wait until he tells the other Kings about /this/.
