Description: Long fight. LOOONG fight. Katelynn is besieged by a doll.. and she doesn't know what she's up against until .. NEVER! SECRETS. Still, the bums are good people. Not good weapons, though.
It's a nice pleasant evening in Southtown, with the sun starting to set and people starting to head home. A lot of businesses are closed for the night, yet there are still many that are open, even at night. Because a busy place like Southtown never sleeps, and there's always activity bustling whereever you might be. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, you're definitely likely to meet up with other people in Southtown.
In a small park, the street lamps have come on to welcome the night, and while the large park is mostly deserted, people can still be found here and there. In one such spot is Katelynn Molina, walking to the train station to get a train back to her hotel room after going out to catch a movie. She's decided to take a shortcut through the park, knowing that as long as she stays on the path, which is brightly illuminated, she'll be OK. And even then if someone bugs her, her Shotokan skills should be more than enough to protect herself.
Skipping through the park, there's another group that's busy .. or at least, another person who is busy! Aprile's been bothering the members of Southtown, mostly the schools, for a long time now! And now humming happily, combined with the skipping mentioned before, she comes along .. Katelynn!
"Hello!" The cheery doll says to Katelynn, almost randomly, and just upon meeting her, having come around the corner to face her. Well, more or less behind a tree she was passing. "Why out so late.. aren't you worried that someone might jump you? I mean I heard there are people like Freeman and the like about!" She mentions.
"Oh no it just wouldn't do .. it must be an emergency of some kind!" The nurse mentions, nodding her head.. with a pack on her back and kit in her hand!
Whoa, whoa now, wait a second. Just who exactly is this woman? And why is she treating Katelynn like they're friends or something? Is this some kind of a joke?
"If you must know, I'm heading to the train station so I can head back to my hotel. I was just at the movies, and it's time that I head back." Katelynn frowns a little as she looks closer at this strange woman, but that look only gets more stern as the girl mentions an emergency of some kind. "Who are you, anyway?"
As Katelynn answers, Aprile smiles. "Oh! Well it's really not safe to walk on your lonesome!" She notes, taking a spot beside her within a few moments. The strange looks cause her to blink a few times. "Is there something on my f.. oh! Who am I? I'm a ..."
No one's actually ever asked for her name before! Some small things you forget.
"Melinda! I'm a nurse that's come to Southtown to find a good place to practice so I can become better.. I think a school of some sort will do.. and that's why I've been going around. A few have been just too aggressive for me!"
The way 'Melinda' is delayed in replying to Katelynn only makes her all the more suspicious. And did she say that the schools are too aggressive? Either Southtown's academic programs are more intense than what she's used to, or something's definitely not right here. But for the time being, Katelynn's pretty much starting to lose her patience instead of becoming suspicious.
"Look, I'm perfectly capable of defending myself, as I hold a black belt in Shotokan Karate, and I've fended off many an attacker before." Katelynn says in a voice that isn't exactly aggressive, but is showing a slight sign of impatience on Katelynn's part. "It's nice that you're a nurse and all, but I really don't have time to chat, sorry." She starts to back away slowly, keeping an eye on 'Melinda' in case she tries anything funny.
And then well... Katelynn finally mentions what Aprile had been wondering of. "Oh you are?" She says, stopping as Katelynn moves forwards, and as she begins to back away ... Aprile just looks to her. "So you're just going to leave like that? .. Well, you were going to!" She notes.
"But now you're going to end up sleeping here tonight in the park, a bloody and broken heap!" She beams, happily, before talking a step forwards. "And just to mention.. I really really really am NOT sorry!"
With this, Aprile dashes towards Katelynn. Also? "CANNON SPIKE!" She begins to spin forwards, despite the heavy equipment, feet attempting to slam into her mid section, a drilling motion, before KICKing her up and away! If anything.. it's easy to see coming!

Suspicions confirmed, Katelynn immediately gets into a fighting stance as soon as Aprile's demeanor takes a sudden change. Now that she sees this young woman's true side, Katelynn realizes that she was definitely set up for an ambush of some kind. When Aprile comes at Katelynn with the Cannon Spike, the Karate fighter is a bit slow on getting into her defensive stance, and is knocked into the grass, landing on her back. But she almost immediately does a backwards handspring back onto her feet.
"I knew there wasn't something right with you, and now you've confirmed it!" Katelynn shouts angrily. "And I'm afraid sleeping outside isn't my kind of thing, unless it's in a tent!" With that, Katelynn rears back and attempts to deliver a swift jab at the woman's face.

As Katelynn lands on her back, the doll kicks off, flipping back, and landing on her feet. "Well.. I guess you WERE right.. but I'm afraid there's really no prize! Instead all that's going to happen is just WHAT was going to happen .. it'll be only a bit harder for you." She comments, shaking her head.
And then Katelynn rears back.. the swift punch being deflected with a hand, pushing it off to the side, yet the pain, however fleeting, is still there. "So you can throw a punch after all!" She beams, .. odd that it's her first and she's commenting that.
"But I'm sorry.. it's just what's going to have to happen! You've got a bad case of something .. we can't risk the others being tainted.. so we have to perform some experiments!"
Which apparently involves spinning around, taking a fist and spinning it about to strike Katelynn with!

"Tainted? A bad case of something? If that's the situation, I've got a bad case of someone ambushing me and getting on my nerves," Katelynn replies, raising her arm to deflect the spinning punch away, meaning most of the damage is pretty much absorbed by her arm. Whoever this person truly is, Katelynn doesn't like her one bit. The Karate fighter doesn't strike this time, though. Instead, she moves carefully, keeping an eye on her target and awaiting whatever may come next.

As Katelynn hangs back, Aprile brims with cheer, not even losing her smile. "Oh well I'm sure it will be over soon.. but you'll have to watch out for a relapse!" She jokes, before raising her medkit upwards.. as red psycho energy begins to pool outwards from about her. It's not very nice looking.
"And you know you REALLY should take the initiative while you have it! Otherwise .. someone might just snatch it away! And then where will you be?" She teases. "So many people just don't understand...." She laments...

The way that red energy is coming out of Aprile makes Katelynn all the more suspicious. She knows that it's definitely not an aura of chi, but she's not sure what it's supposed to be. For the time being, she knows that Aprile is after her for whatever reasons unknown, and that it's either Katelynn or Aprile. And Katelynn intends to see to it that it's her who comes out of this one in one piece.
Taking a quick running step forward, Katelynn presses off with her left foot and flies directly at Aprile, her right foot extended and aimed right at her stomach!

With Katelynn just rocketing forwards, flying directly towards the doll, Aprile just tilts her head.. and shakes it. "Oh you really did have to go and let me prepare! Why is everyone so willing to.." She comments, "But I'll take it!" The doll moves a moment before Katelynn contacts.
The red psycho energy glowing about her is re-directed, forced into a spinning swirl around her. And then Katelynn comes, smashing through it .. legs striking into her, but getting caught in the flow, the doll spinning upwards, dragging her along with ..
Before being launched with that red psycho energy towards the lawn, and perhaps a bush or two in the park. "Now now! .. Nurses orders.. you better stay down!" She comments, as she finally touches down. "No one listens though." Dawww. But can you blame them?
When Katelynn finally finds herself on solid terrain again, she finds herself on the ground, in a bit of pain and discomfort no less. By now, several people, mostly homeless people who take refuge here in the park, have gathered to watch the fight. Apparently, to them it's live entertainment. But the issue here isn't who's watching who. It's about who's fighting who.
Katelynn manages to get back onto her feet, albeit in a little more pain this time, as she can be heard groaning and gasping as she tries to stand back up. When she does make it back onto her feet, she leans against a nearby park bench, and then begins to focus her chi. A bluish aura surrounds her as she focuses it into healing some of the damage to her body.

Oh! A bum group. And they are all looking around. The nurse herself looks between the unwashed men, and then to Katelynn, shaking her head. "Well.. oh my. So you have that energy?" She comments. "And you were holding back on me! Shame on you. Shame Shame Shame!"
And then she pulls back.. and grabs a bum, hefting him up, teetering back and forth as she does this. "Ngh... so heavy for so homeless! But you'll get a use .. right now!" And then Aprile hops a few feet forwards...
And then SWIIIINGS with all she has, the bum's head and body swinging .. FOR KATELYNN!

When you're fighting in public, you have to be ready for just about any kind of item to be used as a weapon. But a homeless person being used as a weapon? That's a new one on Katelynn. She's gonna have to use some strategy here to take care of Aprile while not hurting the bum seriously. And Katelynn knows just what to do.
The Karate fighter swiftly moves her upper body downward and then upwards, while sending a palm strike right at Aprile's stomach. The result is that Aprile is sent backwards, while Katelynn catches the poor bum and sets him down. She doesn't even wait for a thank-you, instead just getting back into her fighting stance.
As Katelynn immediately goes for the palm strike for Aprile's stomach, Aprile is .. sent flying backwards, hitting a tree.. and wobbling forwards a bit. But she smiles all the same, ruffling her nurse dress and all, and straightening her cap. "Really.. that certainly was a bit harder.. but I can't help to wonder.... oh nevermind!" She exclaims, waving her hand. "You'll be bleeding too much to understand anyways!"
And cheerfully as all hell, Aprile is on the offensive again. Running forwards, leaping up against the bench and then bounding off, swinging a foot straight for Katelynn's midsection in a little switch up!
"You'll get tired eventually, and then it'll be alllll over!"

As the kick comes at Katelynn, the karate fighter uses an elbow to knock the foot away while turning so that she's facing Aprile in a more tactical position this time around. Indeed, Katelynn might eventually get tired, but she's not going to let that happen easily. If she plays her cards right, she can easily win this one.
"Understand this!" Katelynn says as she attempts to grab Aprile and throw her into the grass with a swift over the shoulder type of throw.

And as Katelynn grabs the nurse, she's thrown into the grass.. a swift over the shoulder throw catching her, and chucking her towards the ground! Oh no, the humanity.. the humanity! The nurse hits hard, taking a bit longer to get up, but rises in time, raising the object once more.. the medkit, as the dark red energy pulses through her!
"Well, that certainly was something beyond what I was expecting!" The nurse explains. "But I really am not expecting much from you .. at least you've gotten past that! Yaaaaay for random street girl!" She exclaims, smiling all the way.
And then, more red energy about her.. but what does it mean!?

What the red energy is doesn't matter to Katelynn right now. What's important right now is the fact that she's starting to regain her stride in this fight, and that if she can keep control of it, this will be a fight that she can dominate. Seeing how Aprile is busy focusing that red energy, whatever it may be, Katelynn decides that it's time to utilize one of her favorite moves.
The Karate fighter drops down into a crouch, and then spins around, attempting to deliver a swift foot sweep towards Aprile's ankles. But just before she hits, she pauses, and then in one smooth movement, brings the extended leg back and then spins around with her other leg, this time to deliver the actual sweep.

Unfortunately, it might be a short lived regaining of stride. Aprile is currently looking on at Katelynn.. paying rapt attention as the fighter drops down into a crouch and spins around... and then around again, the opposite way! A swift foot sweep slamming against her shins.. and it rather stings! Not something she'd like to feel again.
Looks like Aprile saw something coming, at least.
.. But it only lasts for a moment, the doll leaping back a bit, rubbing her leg.. "Yow.. that stung.. now you're in for it!" And boy, is she! Aprile rushes towards Katelynn, taking the medkit back, before swinging it twice, two lines of red psycho energy being created, before the doll thrusts the medkit forwards, towards Katelynn and the center of the lines.. "Hah!"
It's .. attempting to push down on her, and remove that sudden gain of effort and strength!

Well that's really considerate to provide some personal care, Aprile, but Katelynn really doesn't need any. In fact, she simply pushes the kit away with her arm, albeit rather forcefully. Reeling from the impact a little, Katelynn takes a moment to catch her breath, leaning against the park bench once again as she feels the severity of her injuries setting in a little. But with this comes that flow of energy you get inside of you called adrenaline. This is what causes Katelynn to step back and feel her internal energies rising up within her, similar to what she saw Aprile doing.

As Katelynn takes a moment to catch her breathe... Aprile rushes towards the girl, finished with what she was doing .. intending to simply rush straight at the girl! And for what reason? Of course.. to intercept her! "Oh now we can't let you do that!" She exclaims, grinning.
"You'll have to just make do WITHOUT such things!" And that's just what Aprile intends to make Katelynn do. Make do WITHOUT that energy .. or her arms.
Aiming to grasp Kate, she simply goes to grasp her.. with her legs! And then flip her over, onto the ground, as hard as she can. "Maybe you need.. some mud massage!" HEAVE HO!
Afterwards.. she'll at least, probably, be in a better position.. on top of her!

When you're full of energy, it's amazing what you can achieve. Somehow, even though Aprile has got Katelynn with her legs, the karate fighter manages to resist the attempt. She strains a little, and exhausts a little strength with it, leaving her a bit exhausted afterwards. But this is what she was waiting for.
"NOW!"
With all of her internal energies focused on this, Katelynn takes a moment to take a deep breath, and then lets it out swiftly as she charges at Aprile, attempting to deliver a swift flurry of punches and kicks, carefully choreographed into what Katelynn calls her 'Ultimate Kata!'

As Katelynn tries to resist.. she falls into the trap. It's meant to crash you, thrash you when you try to fight back.. and when she kicks away.. on top of Katelynn for a moment, she's more than ready to catch the girl as she charges.. "Oh.. come now."
The doll has seen sudden bursts of energy, and this is no different.. a swift flurry launching at her, punches and kicks and all other such things.. the ultimate kata is brought to the doll.. but is met with a rock wall like defense, the doll pushing through it, wincing.. but coming out only slightly worse off, able to deflect some of the blows, and take the others.
"Warning your opponent is quite nice though!" The doll speaks again, before grasping for Katelynn's final hand, and then WRENCHING her to the ground, trying to simply push her over.. before she begins to have her hands glow again with that red psycho energy.
"A nice distraction.. but still a distraction." The nurse comments, winking, before trying to twist that arm in ways it shouldn't be, as hard as she can.. the psycho energy aiming to numb her limbs through a single one.
"Goodniiiiiight!~" She cheerfully adds.

How is it possible for someone to come out of an attack like that being able to avoid another one? Probably Katelynn's chi coming to her aid again. Which is probably why when Aprile tried to grab and twist Katelynn's arm, a bluish aura sprang up, and the karate fighter was able to pull out swiftly without any harm being done to her. For a brief moment, she's got a surge of energy within her, which gives her the ability to take a few steps backwards and then prepare for her next attack.
Katelynn then brings her right fist back, and a bluish aura of chi engulfs it. With a yell of 'KIAI!' the chi flies at Aprile in the form of a sphere, aimed right at her stomach. As soon as it's thrown, though, Katelynn's burst is over, and she's back to her regular self, trying to keep herself breathing steadily while ignoring her wounds.

And then the strike takes her by surprise.. the energy fist, chi enhanced, slamming towards her stomach .. and striking it rather nicely.. Katelynn taking to herself, ignoring her wounds while .. well, while Aprile staggers backwards. Oh .. that was not appreciated at all. Wide eyed, the doll collapses backwards.. and looks to the medkit.. and then to Katelynn.
And then Aprile takes a deeeep breathe, and staggers to her feet. With how Katelynn decided to do this .. Aprile decides she needs a bit of a rest as well for a moment.
".. Why .. why don't you use this .. BEFORE you're about to fall over? .. Oh no matter! Not a problem at all.. we're almost done!"

Katelynn wasn't exactly resting, she was just letting out a burst of energy, and then feeling the effects of her chi wearing off. She can still fight, it's just she's gonna have a bit of a hard time doing so. But if she wants to get out of this alive, she's gonna need to fight as good as she can.
"Yeah, we're almost done, and it's a good thing, too, since I'm kinda getting tired of this," Katelynn says, sounding a little winded, but otherwise still with her fighting spirit intact. With that, she attempts to trip Aprile into the grass with a kick aimed at her feet.

As Katelynn mentions about how she's getting tired of it, well, she's not really the only.. Aprile is sure to be wondering why the girl is just not going down! But that's all in the past, because Katelynn, sending a kick towards her feet..pre-empts Aprile trying to interrupt such a thing, spinning around.. and being sent sprawling.
But Aprile trips forwards, she still catches herself, smiling through her blood soaked gaze. "Is that it? .. I've felt so much worse for master... but I'm sure he'll be happy to have another gnat on my belt.. and I hope you know it's just too late .. this fight's already been decided! I just hope you like sleeping in the pooor cold." She chirps.
Or she's getting tired!
Sleeping in the cold? Aprile really thinks that she's gonna be able to knock Katelynn out that easily? She's got guts, but can she live up to her words? She's getting tired, just like Katelynn is.
"We'll see who's taking a snooze out in the cold tonight," Katelynn says as she steps back to catch her breath once again.

... She .. can't be that dense.
Aprile stares at Katelynn.. and then laughs! And then she laughs some more.. the girl nearly doubling over.. the doll smiling wide. "You .. CAN'T REALLY be doing this! .. If you want to fight like that .. I can outlast you in this game.. and you .. just lost it." Aprile comments, before she raises her medkit, over her wounded body.. a cross erupting out, two heavy psycho energy lines above her spinning.. and then falling over her in a blur as they spin faster and faster, burning into the ground.
Wounds of all kinds just fade away, the doll glowing, stepping forwards.. now in far, far, far better condition.
"And yet you continue your hopeless struggle." The nurse says, in her unursely way. "One that you cannot hope to win."
"You never know untill you try," Katelynn responds as she comes out of her gathering energy into her body. Her brief rest finished, Katelynn now has a bit more fight within her. She now finds herself breathing a little easier, and with a bit more stamina to fight with in her tank. She now decides to utilize this fresh gathering of energy to deliver a swift punch aimded at Aprile's stomach.

With Katelynn punching towards her, Aprile's healing finishes.. doing far more than she could hope to otherwise.. but the fatigue must be wearing on her. It has worked far more wonders on other times.. a bother.
The quick punch comes in, but all that happens is again, the prevented strike from Aprile, deflecting it.. but she is willing to try again, with something else, spinning about to send the box itself heading towards Katelynn's head, not missing a beat.

Oh, you want to do some boxing, huh? Well, Katelynn's willing to box with you. In fact, she's going to utilize her favorite counter attack once again, her palm blaster, to give herself some more space. This means that the box goes down and Aprile goes backwards, hopefully realizing that sometimes taking chances can pay off, and sometimes it doesn't.
And then the energy enhanced fist slams into her again.. Aprile gritting her teeth.. and falling back once more. This fight is becoming more of a 'sit and wait', and this certainly bothers the nurse. She's going on the offensive.. and this is more BOTHERING that anything, as the other girl refuses to just give up!
Well.. there's other ways to do it, after all.
"Hah... SPIN!" She bursts into motion, the doll launching herself towards Katelynn, diving for her legs to trip her up, red psycho energy flaring.
"DRIVE!" And then more flashes of psycho energy, as she attempts to drive her up into the air, drilling her. "SMASHER!"
And then, of course.. a heavy strike, psycho energy allowing her to PUNT the annoyance away.. if all goes well.

Let's cut right to the chase, shall we? Aprile manages to get Katelynn, and manages to inflict maximum damage on the karate fighter. Katelynn is sent into the air, and when she lands, she's gonna be landing a fair distance away off in a small grove area of the field that's pretty much surrounded on most sides by a wall of bushes and trees. It's kind of like where the homeless call 'home,' and by now they've cleared out to watch the fight. When Katelynn lands, she's gonna be enjoying a good night's sleep in that spot.
But as she's sent flying, her boot goes at Aprile's head in a last ditch, if not entirely intentional, attempt to score a parting hit.

As Katelynn is launched away... Aprile doesn't move at all, instead, taking the boot to the head, and allowing it to be driven into her hard.. before she lands, blood covered, a bit tired.. and all happy. "Well.. y'see.. I tolllld you! IF you ONLY kept assaulting me it wouldn't have ended this way!" She mentions to the one .. who probably doesn't really care, what with her sleeping outside tonight.
Skipping away, Aprile smiles, just as cheery .. after fixing her hat, of course.
That hat MUST be fixed! It's a symbol of pride for her.
Fortunately, Katelynn is tended to by the homeless, who have their own bedding provided courtesy of the generous locals. She's given a bed for the night, and after giving some money to a homeless person, she's bought a bottle of water, which she sips before going to sleep.
