Igniz - A Vision

Description: On a quiet night, Igniz had requested a meeting with Kain and a simple request to aid him in his endeavors in Metro. Afterwards, he would ask the man for a little spar to see exactly how he matches up against the man. But, what could possibly be next in this diabolical plan?! Stay tuned to fight out!

Of late, Kain R. Heinlein's activities have been somewhat... subdued. The occasional fight to help keep himself in practice, training, managing his various business interests... All very mundane things. His activities in Indonesia are mostly running themselves, aside from occasional messages to make sure the fear of god remains in his subordinates. But aside from that, Kain simply has no big plans in the works. Some opportunity to take advantage of, that's what he needs... so when he receives a message from the leader of NESTS, well, Kain is quick to send back a response indicating that he would be glad to have a meeting. Perhaps something may come of it.
An invitation to the Heinlein estate is extended to Igniz, and Kain waits patiently in the lounge for his guest to arrive. The staff have arranged refreshments and then vacated the area, aside from the butler. The fewer people who see Igniz the better, even if Kain does have reason to trust most of the members of his house staff.

In the past, Igniz had bided his hand. Sending his servents and subservents to do exacty what he needs to do. Whatever they need to do. And most certainly one thing. To be the guiding force of his hand. He expected nothing but full participation in each and every mission. But they would give it for him. He was their friend.

Now, ater sending a message to meet with Kain R. Heinlein, Igniz's request was granted, and the man came exactly as always. The purple hood had taken over much of the mans features as he arrives at the estate, no matter the conditions. For if it was rain, the rain would bend surprisingly around the cloak, striking only the grond. He would not get wet. Not a single drop.

Invited into the estate, he continues in, moving insides the estate without sluggish intent. He moves exactly to where he was told, aided by the buttler to arrive.

One there, even then the cloak is not immediately lifted, the hood sluggishly gripping the man's head. "Hello, Mr. Heinlein. It's nice to meet you again." Igniz pauses, "There are things that we need to discuss."

Kain rises from his seat when Igniz enters, a sign of respect that he doesn't show to many people. "The pleasure is all mine, I assure you. Please, have a seat." Kain gestures to a chair set opposite his own, on the other side of a low table. "I think you'll find that this room is quite secure for any matters which you would like to discuss." Kain turns his gaze to the butler for a moment, and the man quickly bows and then steps out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
Returning to his seat, Kain picks up a glass of red wine from the table, then gestures with his free hand to a sideboard with several drinks and hors d'oeuvres available. "Please, help yourself." Kain may indulge himself in certain things that wealth provides, but only a fool would think he's reliant on it. But... if one has the means to act in a civilized manner, why wouldn't one?

Igniz pays his own respects to Kain. Even if he's the owner of a business, the NESTS cartel, Igniz prides himself in his charm that he can use to aid him, manipulate much in his own opperations, and strike deep to salt the wounds of those that crossed him. "Thank you." Igniz motions with a nod, the robe coforming to the seat as he sits down. Still however, he doesn't take off the hood. Not until the butler has left. There, it almost seems to come off itself, fluttering up and over, revealing his 'godliness' and looks towards only Kain. "I must say, Kain, that this establishment is quite impressive." Wealth truely belongs in the hands of those that don't squander it.

Raising a hand only slightly, a small portion of the cape seem to wrap around glass, while Igniz pours a glass of white wine for himself. "The matter I've come is simply to ask for your aid once more. And in turn I will provide you with whatever resources you may need in the future." The man states, his words smoother than the wine slowly emptying into the glass, and ending the stream as easy. "I recently had focused my sights up Metro City. It is in a state of state of chaos, and I think it would benefit from a different leader." One that isn't Haggar. Or. Perhaps 'his' Haggar?

Kain sips his own wine, nodding once or twice as Igniz explains the basics of his position. "Hmm, yes, I have heard about the upheaval in Metro... Chaos can be useful for forcing people to find strength within themselves, but interferes with plans. I have some interests in Metro that would be well served by having things calm down, one way or another."
Heinlein takes another sip of his wine. "There are many ways in which a leader can be removed from power, of course. Some are... quicker than others. Some methods are more stable in the long term, but they also often require a great deal more build-up, and may be less effective in achieving the desired goal in the first place. I'm sure I can provide some assistance, regardless of the approach. But, of course, the question is... what aid do you need from me?"

Igniz nods, listening as Kain speaks. It's all truths. Obviously the man has lived a life such as Igniz. He understands much, very much. It makes everything that much easier. "I can make sure that it will be quelched for good. Mayor Haggar has provided me with something that he has not yet fathomed." Igniz says, continuing on. "My method is much easier than revolting against Haggar, taking it by military force. While it is that simple, drawing too much attention is not my mission. Instead, I have... made a second Haggar from the strand of hair plucked from his mustache." Igniz's face lights up with delight.

"We must simply spread a rumor, that the Mayor is a fraud, and that is why his is in chaos, and implant our imposter in place. I need your aid solely that Haggar and the many that stand with him will resist against all common sense, and will probably need to be silenced when the time comes to fully take hold on Metro."

Kain rubs his jaw thoughtfully for a moment. "An interesting plan." A classic, too, although the classic template doesn't involve access to clones... that just makes it all the more likely to succeed, though. "Yes, I can see how there might be a few difficulties... But with any luck, some of the mayor's friends would be fooled by your replacement. He might not stand up under close scrutiny, but perhaps some manner of alienating them beforehand might be arranged..."
Kain trails off then. The details are for Igniz's people to work out; they've got more information about this particular plot than he does. "If it comes down to it, though, I believe I can arrange to take them out of the picture. If not permanently, then at least long enough for you to act."

NESTS's ability and proverbial ability to play god is one of its greatest achievements, after all, if a god cannot play god, what has this world come to? He's more than happy to make H', and ploy others into believing him. Of course, he would also need agents to break into Haggar's house and other such to get as much as he could possibly use to 'edcuate' the clone into being Haggar.

"I hope for something of the like myself. We can count on that Katana fellow to continue distracting NESTS work until the very end." Igniz stops momentarily, getting ahead of himself once again. "Ah, yes. Thank you Kain. That is all that I ask." The demi-god speaks, "But. I only ask one more thing." Igniz states, his cloak raising the glass to his lips where he drinks deeply, before it's placed down once more. "Can you honor me with a show of your strength?"

Kain finishes his own wine, then sets the glass aside. "That's not an unreasonable request." He smiles as he rises from his seat. "If you'll follow me? While one should, of course, be prepared to fight anywhere... I prefer not to destroy my home for the sake of sparring. Not when I have space set aside outside for such purposes." Opening the door, Kain waits for Igniz to follow, then leads the god of NESTS on a short journey through the house, then out the back door.
The yard spreads for quite some distance before eventually merging into the forest, and it takes a brief walk before Kain comes to a stop, ending at an area far enough away from the house that neither fighter should feel any need to hold back. A large ring of stones surrounds a shallow pit of sand, and it is to this which Kain gestures. "Hopefully this will be suitable."

Igniz nods, looking towards Kain as he set his glass aside. "Of course." Igniz answers as he lifts himself up easily, as if the air itself aided him in his lift. He lets off a soft laugh, "Yes, yes. I understand completely. There's no reason to do such a thing." Igniz follows Kain quite simply, staying behind the man as he's led through the estate, and finally, coming to a clearing outside.

He's greeted by something only a man like Kain could create for himself, a yard merging to a forest trail, before finally coming to an area, stones surrounds sand, creating a rather basic but excellent field for two parties to do battle.

"This is much more than suitable, Mr. Heinlein." Igniz begins, "and since it is your estate, I'll let you make the decision for taking the first move." Igniz says, walking towards the other side. Finally on the other side, he stops all of a sudden, before turning around. For an instant he closes his eyes, his robes shifting, falling off of him violently as they seem to come to life, floating, swaying even with a lack of strong wind. A heavenly light shines upon him for a moment, before finally, simply dying down. A heavenly prayer is heard even still as the battlesuit activates.

Igniz makes sure everything is just perfect. NESTS has their flair, too.

Kain's clothing contains rather less technology than Igniz's, so all Heinlein need do to prepare himself is grab the lapels of his jacket and give the garment a few brief tugs to adjust it. He then steps into the sand contained within the stone ring, sliding his feet into the proper position. While Igniz does his own preparations, Kain makes sure he's got his footing right, and makes a quick observation of the area set aside for the fight to make sure no obstacles have found their way in since it was last checked.
That taken care of, it's time to begin. "Well, if you insist." Kain looks Igniz up and down for a moment, then abruptly dashes forward. The space between the two men is closed in the blink of an eye, and then Kain brings his right leg slicing upwards at a sharp angle. Black flame shrouds his leg as he attempts to drive a solid blow into the center of Igniz's chest, trying to launch the other man off the ground.

NESTS pride themselves on looking good, or at least standing out as much as possible that they possibly could not be missed. Does a god need to be flagrent? Prideful? Igniz is many of these, and holds himself on a high calibur. It would be a mistake to think otherwise.

The god of NESTS studies Kain as he makes his preparations, even as he does his own. And since Igniz insisted, Kain moves first, and Igniz is quite ready for what is to come. Or else he likes to think he is. His battlesuit analyzes even as Kain dashes forward towards him. The sheer speed that he errupts with surprises Igniz to an extent. But the power that is analyzed in the moment, the sheer strength. The battlesuit estimates how much it would land. And Igniz is stunned, the attack must be stopped.

There isn't time to exchange. There isn't time to move. There's only time to raise the field of chi between himself and Kain before his leg sweeps up, striking the single, white mirro of chi that materializes in an instant. Just enough to stop the man momentarily, to ward him off his persuit. Igniz was, if anything, attempting to stop Kain. To his merrit, even a god would not take him lightly.

The recoil from striking the energy field causes Kain to stumble back, but doesn't seem to have caused any greivous harm. Kain puts his foot firmly back on the ground, then eyes Igniz for a few moments. A single powerful strike seems far too likely to simply be repelled by defenses of that sort. But how fast can they react, and how much damage can the NESTS technology hold off? Kain grins, briefly, then lunges back at Igniz.
Blue chi surrounds both of Kain's hands as he lashes out at Igniz. He starts with a rising bodyblow from the right, leading into an upward angled left hook aimed at Igniz's jaw. He then snaps out a quick kick at the NEST leader's ankles before surging forward in an attempt to come up alongside him while slamming a fist into his gut with enough force to send him staggering back.

NESTS technology has a lot of different strengths and weaknesses that go along with it. Bolstering Igniz's strength to a higher level is only aided simply by the warrents of technology, and the many different things that could go wrong. But nothing would, or at least, he presumes nothing would.

But even as Kain blasts from the ground, coming back quickly up, rising against Igniz's strike, he's only half surprised to see the speed, the energy that Kain fires against him with. It's impressive, entirely amazing even as the four forcefields of the battlesuit rise to slow down Kain's strike, for it enough to wreck the systems for the time being. "Ah. I see." Igniz begins, the battlesuit rocket somewhat due to the strike, a nice dent being crushed into its side.

But even then, Igniz does not wait to retaliate, being pushed back only so much before his own fist arcs out towards Kain, lightning fast, streaking out towards the other man in a blur of motion, attempting to strike Kain in the chest in turn.

As his last blow lands, Kain notes the start of retaliatory movement on Igniz's part. He starts twisting to one side as the punch strikes out, but isn't able to spin away completely in time. The blow catches him along the ribs, turning his evading movement into a momentary stumble for balance. Sand sprays up as Kain slides a foot back, managing to regain his footing without letting much distance grow between himself and Igniz.
Kain tenses his legs for a moment then leaps forward, quickly bringing his right leg up and snapping it out toward Igniz. Black flame surrounds his foot, trailing behind him as he attempts to slam a kick into the center of his opponent's torso. That battle armor certainly provides protection... but it wouldn't hurt to learn what kinds of limits it has. To that end, Kain suddenly draws his leg back after impact then snaps it back again in a movement almost too quick to follow, attempting to follow up with even more damage to precisely the same spot.

Soon enough, Igniz's good luck would have come to an end. Both are easily great warriors in their own ways. Kain, even taking blow after blow, finds a way into Igniz's defenses, leaping towards him before striking out with a leg. Igniz, in all his glory, couldn't find a way to propell himsel back fast enough. He tried, but certainly, it didn't happen. The chi coated leg strikes dead on, before snapping up and striking again. The damage begins to rack up, hurling Igniz back as the strike finishes. The man mutters to himself, being thrown to the ground. But he doesn't stay there long.

The god of NESTS rises again, without even a moment of self pity or anguish. The armor stuck is dented thoroughly in, as if struck by a ballista. But that's not what Kain should be focusing on as the battlesuit itself makes a quick gamble, attempting to grab a hold of Kain's leg by wrapping itself around it and squeezing, the fabric of the suit quickly moving to clamp. If it was to, it would lift Kain up, and hurl him into the air, above, and over Igniz, towards his other side. And Igniz would not have to lift a finger.

Kain momentarily spares a glance downward, in time to see one of the tendrils of Igniz's cloak wrapping around his leg. The loop is already starting to close, so there's not much he can do to stop it, as directly attacking something with no nervous system to feel pain is pointless unless you can destroy it in a single blow. And so Kain allows himself to be tossed up into the air, fully aware that it's going to happen and prepared to deal with his fall when it comes.
Before gravity takes full effect, however, Kain has time to act. As he passes over Igniz's head, Kain twists himself around, raising his right arm. A sphere of black flame forms in his hand, and as he begins to fall Kain slings his arm toward Igniz, sending the fireball streaking down toward the NESTS leader's head. A flaming tail trails behind it as it falls, turning the dark fire into a miniature comet, falling from the sky toward its target.

The god of NESTS knows as soon as he senses that chi forming in the air above him, turning rapidly to meet whatever is coming towards him. Kain's powerfuly, the chi that he uses pounding upon the NESTS battlesuit. Even as Igniz catches Kain falling towards him, split seconds is all the man has, stepping backwards as the blast of chi pounds into the four recticles of white chi, slowing and negating as much as possible. Some still makes it through, enough to drive Igniz back, lines appearing through the sand from where he once stood. Each hurt most painfully. "Excellent form."

Still, Igniz makes no action towards Kain or otherwise, waiting for the man to make his own move, tracking him. Perhaps it's a mistake to give Kain time, but to know your opponent may aid Igniz's cause yet. And if your opponent is Kain, everything counts.

The suit continues sway mid air, majestically floating. It seems those systems are kept in a sturdy box.

COMBATSYS: Igniz focuses on his next action.

As Kain lands, the sand flies back from his point of impact with far more force than should be caused simply by a fall from the height Igniz tossed him to. As he stands up, Kain starts drawing his hands back and to his side, and once more sand flies away from him, leaving a circular pattern extending outward from a point centered on Kain's feet. There's a brief spark of blue light from between Kain's palms, which rapidly begins to increase in intensity.
Kain thrusts both of his hands forward, revealing that light to be a sphere of raw chi, which suddenly begins to increase rapidly in size, in the blink of an eye growing to a good five feet in diameter. The orb pulses once, for a moment seeming to shrink slightly... and then it suddenly rockets out from Kain's hands at high speed, leaving a blurring afterimage as it barrels down on Igniz's position.

Pain is all Igniz can feel after it. The strike comes at him. He's not really sure exactly what to do at first, but he manages, at least a little at a time, to decide that, if anything. he will try to match power with power.

His power, apparently, was not great enough. Even as Kain presses the assault, Igniz has no time. As Kain fires a light of raw chi at him, it sears through the armor, even before the field can come up again. Perhaps a global come up against Igniz, he doesn't care. He has only a single chance, and he takes it. Albiet, it's the wrong choice. He had tried, and that is all that truely matter as the chi connects into him, sending him backwards, sailing across the sand and the chi burns into he battlearmor.

Down, Igniz is not out. Not just yet. He'll attempt to make his moves to remedy this.

If at all possible. He still has time.

The sand around Kain ceases to move about once the projectile is launched, and Heinlein watches as it impacts with its target. Against some opponents he might follow immediately in the wake of the attack, preparing to follow up the assault... but not against Igniz. No, the NESTS leader is powerful and has tricks up his sleeve, and Kain has no intention of running right into any of them. But things seem to have worked in his favor, as Igniz goes down under the assault.
/Now/ Kain moves in to continue his attack, not waiting for Igniz to regain his feet. If this is to be a proper demonstration of fighting ability, it should be conducted as a real fight. Coming up on his fallen opponent, Kain attempts to close in before he can rise, raw blue chi surrounding his foot as he swings in with a kick aimed at one of the previously damaged sections of the armor, attempting to put even more strain on it.

Igniz seemed to have a fighteing chance before, but it seems that the battlesuit and his abilities seemed to lose their own powerful sway. He would no longer come up and continue the fight he had so carefully constructed at the beginning, but instead, squander his time attempting to draw Kain into his own strikes. It was a gamble, and one that Igniz had lost terribly.

Even as Kain came in with a kick aimed at a same position, Igniz began to move, spin forward as if his cape would grapple onto the other man's leg before it could even connect, but instead, the cape and the body of Igniz both fell flat to a single kick delivered by Kain. Thrust into the ground once more, Igniz grasped the sand angrily. Was this the best he could do?!

It's true, making a business partner angry is generally a rather good idea... And Kain can tell that Igniz is getting frustrated. On the other hand... Kain has also learned about NESTS. There's certainly data being collected from this fight, which will probably be used to make Igniz's battlesuit all the more formidable, an outcome that will probably offset the would-be god's anger, in time. Despite that, Kain's not going to hold back. It just means he won't use unnecessary tricks when he could be keeping them in reserve. Just in case.
Planting his foot back down, Kain rears back, lifting his right hand up high. He clenches it into a fist, black flame surrounding his hand before he brings it slamming down, attempting to drive a punch with his full strength into his prone opponent. Whether or not he manages to connect cleanly, if he does manage to get all the way through the motion it results in a massive cloud of sand as the impact drives the contents of the pit upwards.

Igniz would, to the best of his ability, run Kain into the ground. This isn't to say that Igniz could continue to fight against Kain as actively as he could, it just means that, in any case scenario, he's going to continue to push his way to do as much as possible in a little a time.

As Kain comes back once more, moving in with a punch that sears through the air and directly towards Igniz, the man decides that simply he would not be attempting to stop it again. The fist comes, and Igniz, for better or for worse, shifts out of the way, towards the sides, looking back towards Kain, eyes lowered to the man. He isn't done yet. Even if, perhaps, he may very well be.

Without a word, Igniz lifts up his hand, his left wrapping about as he plowed the white energy into the ground. Exploding in pilliars towards Kain, the white chi darted out, as if to pierce through his figure and continue out in a swath. Igniz woul not go down without some kind of fight, and perhaps, a loss could tell more than a victory.

As the sand starts to fall back to the ground Kain notices the flareup of energy coming from Igniz's direction, even if it's a moment before he can spot the man himself. He quickly returns to a standing position, starting to bring his arms up in a defensive posture as he does so. He's not, however, quick enough and his footing isn't sure enough. The chi pillars slam into Kain, causing him first to skid back against the sand then sending him bowling over backwards to crash down to the ground.
Kain coughs a few times, then pulls himself into a sitting position before starting to rise back to his feet. "An interesting technique. Something like... this." Rather than continuing to rise to his feet, Kain suddenly lunges forward, slamming his open palm into the ground with a puff of sand. That sand doesn't even have time to settle before another wave of chi columns erupts from the ground, this time with a bright blue glow and heading in Igniz's direction.

Oh what cruel fates await god? A terrible practicle joke this must be, for Igniz is not laughing. Still, he can do littl as Kain comes again for him, a third strike launche against him. "Yes... something of the sort." Igniz states, shifting a bit. He has a rather poor chance to escape it, but he attempts anyways. With the battlesuit losing power, he has to take some risks.

How foolish could he have been to imagine that the instance he could have possibly took the right answer was there, and yet he let it whisk away? The blue energy bowls into Igniz, hurling him towards the ground as he shifts. He had obviously taken the wrong option, falling to the ground in a lump, chi searing all over the suit. He breathes heavily. He had chosen poorly today, something he will attempt to remedy upon another meeting. However, Kain is on his side, or for the moment anyways. His aid will be very beneficial.

He does nothing but lay against the ground for the moment, attempting to catch his breathe after the last blow. There wasn't any reason to squander any more of his energy. "Very good show..." Igniz states. Very.

Remaining on one knee with his hand on the ground, Kain watches as his opponent falls, then doesn't rise. Not right away, at least. Standing back up, Kain briefly dusts his hand against his leg to dislodge some of the sand, then gazes in Igniz's direction. He doesn't offer to help his opponent up. It's not in his nature, and even if it was... some people can be rather offended by such an offer from an opponent.
"I look forward to seeing the countermeasures you've come up with by the next time we fight... In the mean time, just let me know when you are ready to make your move in Metro City. I will begin arranging matters to ease my own involvement there."

COMBATSYS: Kain has ended the fight here.

Igniz does get up sooner or later, wounded in more ways than one. Kain has his merrits of being rather strong. But there will be other days. The god of NESTS gets to his feet, dusting himself off weakly. "Of course. I'll be sure to be more prepaired next time." Igniz states in return to Kain. "I will indeed keep you informed as well. I shall see you later, Mr. Heinlein." Igniz says as he weakly begins to activate his battlesuits hover systems, allowing him to walk with less of a problem, and leave without dragging his feet either.

He has things to do.
