Yurika - ......... What

Description: Sakura Kasugano has graduated from Taiyo, one less problem for Yurika Kirishima to deal with.. Or so she thought; she recieves a nasty surprise when it turns out that the Ansatsuken Angel is now a student-teacher of sorts at Seijyun. Let the passive-aggressive begin. (arguably light on the passive)

"... Excuse me?" was Yurika Kirishima's response when she had caught word that Sakura Kasugano would be transferring to Seijyun High. Well, not so much transfer so much as under employment.

This is a worry of Yurika for a number of reasons; the most important being that the older Kirishima is undertaking a very important mission, and the King of Fighters champion is a very very potential problem- WIth her on top of Zaki in the mix, the rest of the school year would be a serious headache.. There was one thing different between the two, however, and that was Kurow had managed to take control over her before. It'd be a good strategy, then, to do her best to gain Kasugano's trust. .... Somehow.

This would be extremely difficult.

Who knows what Sakura is doing at the end of the school day, but she's recieved an invitation; an overly formal card, written in cursive and placed inside a pink envelope: A request of attendance before Seijyun's student council president. For the time being the student council room is just the teachers lounge while the actual is still under construction; but none are present at the moment within the well-lit place. Her desk is toward the back of the room, with a neat stack of papers placed atop it. It seems her job is to take one from the stack, scribble on it, stamp it, then place it into an outbox.. And yet somehow the inbox doesn't decrease. Is Seijyun a school full of problems?

Sakura's not that much older than any of Seijyun High's students -- three years at the most. And she's only an 'employee' in the sense that she occasionally shows up as an assistant to Seijyun's full-time physical education staff. And that's fairly rare! But she does show up on the high school campus for additional assignments from her university studies -- it's valuable information!

Even still, the building is still -somewhat- confusing. She'd heard of a student council office, but it being stuck in the back of the teacher's lounge was confusing. She'd been there tons of times before, and never noticed the desk!

But here she is, at any rate, dressed in a black pleated skirt and a navy blue blazer -- she'd actually left her headband at home today. Gasp! The college student raps her knuckles on the teacher's office door once, twice, thrice... regardless of the response, she steps inside and shuts the door quietly behind her. Kasugano squints back at the jenga-tower of papers, heaving a brief sigh of resignment, and folds her arms behind her, the card and its formal envelope flipping about between her fingers as she waits for this Yurika person to show herself.

Yurika did respond.. It wasn't very loud, but she certainly did respond; when Sakura steps in, Yurika is making one last slam of a stamp before standing up to face the new entrant. She's actually a bit suprised by what she sees, the young lady looks rather professional! In a way. It was clear, visually at least, that this isn't entirely the same girl who she's heard of in the past. Apparently she was expecting something a bit more unruley.

"Miss Kasugano, I'm pleased that you could make it, I apologize for calling you here under such short notice, but I promise to keep things brief.. Could I interest you in a cup of tea?"

Yurika's so quiet, Sakura didn't even notice her over there! Hiding behind those papers, clearly... or so she convinces herself.

Still, the sudden voice comes as a bit of a shock. Kasugano may be dressed formally, but her hair's still not brushed, and she's still jumpy like a Taiyo student. "Nngh..." she mumbles unintelligibly once Yurika starts speaking... though once the offer of tea comes, she nods her head quickly. "S-sure! That'd be great!"

The Taiyo High graduate makes her way over to Yurika's desk, bowing once in humility. She thinks to herself, . o o ( Man, this girl's got lots of curls... she almost makes me think of... )

A small smile forms on Yurika's features as she continues to observe Sakura; her dark eyes quite naturally hide the fact that she's picking up and apart every detail about the girl, from the messy hair to any sort of nervous fidgiting. Her aim is to come off as professional but approachable herself, but if a bit of intimidation slides in there, that'd just be icing on the cake. The bow is returned with one in turn, and she heads to cabinet, drawing it open to reveal numerous tea cups and saucers. It looks like it would normally be for books or something, quite easy to overlook in the past. "Wonderful," she replies. "As you may have heard, I'm Yurika, the Student Council President. I was .. Very suprised when I heard that you would be persuing a career through Seijyun. Not that I'm displeased with this, I just would have expected you to find Taiyo as you 'home away from home' as it were."

Two cups have tea poured in. It's actually nothing very fancy, a simple green tea. The girl turns to face the older. "Regardless, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. But I have some concerns.."

Is she like Kurow? Yurika would be honestly suprised if she were remotely similar to the one she holds closest to her heart.

Sakura graciously accepts the tea as it's offered to her, curling it close and blowing across the tea surface to cool it. Smiling contentedly at the aroma, she looks back at Yurika. She's noting simple details about the student council president, herself... wondering just what about the girl seems so... -familiar-.

Still, she can't help but be a bit nonplussed when Yurika confides her surprise, and quickly states that she's not displeased. ... But Sakura wouldn't -expect- her to be displeased, so why is she denying it?

Raising a skeptical eyebrow at first, Sakura then breaks into a full smile. Two can play the nice-nice game! "Hmm, well... Taiyo's nice and all, but it's more for the university programs, y'know? The educational opportunities are much better here at Seijyun, or so my folks tell me! Haha..."

Bowing her head once more, she seems to relax a bit. "Concerns? Like what?"

The musician's eyes doesn't seem to notice that bit of concentration in Sakura's eyes. Treading carefully isn't a great concern of hers, however, for once. She takes her seat behind the desk again, gesturing to the seat in front of it.

The smile is only slightly unusual to her. But she can't cast judgement on that just yet. "Well, I must applaud your parents opinion, they couldn't be any more correct. Sometimes people make slightly off assumptions, when faced with the word 'tradition'. However tradition is something that I'd students to keep fresh in their memory. Proper hygiene and grammar for instance.." Yurika suggestivly brushes a hand along the left lock of her hair, then takes a sip from her teacup.

Once it's set down again, her smile seems just a little brighter. But just a bit. "My concern is that students may be 'persuaded' from these. You're a very impressionable female, Miss Kasugano. One might say that from this point on you'll be viewed as a role model. If you wish, I would gladly assist you in becoming a little less 'Taiyo' and a little more 'Seijyun' on these grounds. We don't really have room for.."

".. Sex symbols, here."

Sakura's smile fades briefly as Yurika's tone changes. Kasugano looks down at the grains of tea swimming about in her teacup as she swishes it around momentarily, trying to cool it down further. Her jaw tenses when Yurika suggests she should be any less than traditional or proper.

And then she invokes the words mentioned in a recently-published conversation, ones which even then, from an interviewer who had been kind until then, had irritated Sakura greatly.

Sakura's jaw tenses, but thankfully, she's already looking down at the teacup, so Yurika might find it a bit harder to see Sakura's eyes transform into daggers.

But this would be unbecoming of her master, the alleged 'sex symbol' reminds herself. Instead of reacting violently, she puffs a bit more air across her tea. Still too warm, she thinks. "I 'ppreciate the thought 'n all," she says with a wry grin, daring to make her speech even -less- formal than usual, "but I think I'm gonna pass on that. Y'see..." Kasugano takes a breath, swishing her tea about some more. "... see, if I just =forget= my Taiyo roots, I'd lose respect in the eyes of your students. Makes it hard to teach when you lose respect." Chuckling softly, she takes a sip of her tea. "Glad to know you're looking out for me though!"

Yurika is probably fully expecting violence of some sort. Is Yurika instigating here? It certainly seems that way, but the response she does get in the end doesn't seem to disappoint her. A slight twitch of her own eyebrow, however, would reveal a smidge of annoyance instead. Honestly, this was like dealing with Roberto here.

Her smile is more forced, she can't hide it, even when she tries to take another sip from her cup and finds herself unable to. And so after she clears her throat, "No.. No, Miss Kasugano I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you. There is a saying, one that I'm sure you've heard before that goes, 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do'. Please don't misunderstand, however, I'm not asking of you to hide the fact you are from Taiyo, that would be simply rediculous. However what I am asking of you is to be a positive example for Seijyun students."

Yurika's eyes manage to get just a bit darker at this point that betrays the smile of hers. It's quite a talent. "You could start by acting a little more mature when one points out your faults."

When in Rome... Heh. Sakura shakes her head, in further disagreement, but still keeps smiling nonetheless. She's getting annoyed, sure, but she's had a bit of practice in hiding that. "With all due respect to you and your post, I'm not a student here. I'm a student of the =university=. And me wearing -this- is already a little ridiculous and =quite= a bit further in keeping with your notions of decorum than I'd =personally= prefer."

Kasugano takes another sip of her tea, nodding her head. "I -could- act more mature when people point out my faults, sure... and I can act a lot less mature too, don't get me wrong! I'm just used to people speaking a bit more plainly about it though, instead of dancing around the issue making threats."

Cradling the teacup in both hands, her expression grows a bit more solemn. "Come to think of it, am I being -reprimanded-, Miss Kirishima? Does this need to get put into writing? I'd be happy to talk to my advisor if you think my style of dress or speech are, uh, -unbecoming- of a Seijyun teacher in training. I'd really rather it come from a position that holds authority over me, though." Kasugano draws in her breath lightly, bowing her head in deference -despite- her marked defiance. "I'm sure you understand."

Perhaps she's underestimated Sakura. When it's all said and done, Yurika does realize one thing. This girl is good. She's really good. How one learns this kind of behavior in Taiyo is actually completely beyond her. Though maybe if she knew Ryu a little better it'd make a lot more sense.

However her confusion nor suprise is expressed very well from the President, and yet somehow she manages to exude a feeling of greater annoyance. "I'm glad you brought up the notion of dancing around the issue, Miss Kasugano, I have my reasons for doing so, reasons that I'm sure would greatly upset yuo."

The musician sets her teacup on the desk. "I figured, then, it would be better to just address the most important issue and avoid confrontation altogeather but I suppose at this point it's unavoidable. I will instead just make one thing clear: Your game is cute, but does not work in this office. If you are telling me that I should voice my concerns to a higher up, believe me, I am not so busy a woman that I will not take that opportunity. Your being here is a benefit for yourself; you are not doing me, or Seijyun High School any favors. So now I wil ask you this, Miss Kasugano. I will keep it simple. When you leave this room, can I count on you to make an effort to be a good example, or shall I be the 'bad guy' over this matter and force you by more authorative means?"

Sakura's rather well-composed right now for many reasons which are sure to greatly upset Yurika -- made-for-TV movies and courtroom dramas. Not that she actively seeks these things out, but rather, it's what the family used to watch when she was trying to procrastinate her homework away!

As to whether Yurika's reasons would upset -her-, Sakura simply adds, "Fair enough!"

Now, is she being cute? "Heh. What's this about anyway, that silly little article that got published about me?" Sakura may be dodging the issue for now, but she has a point to get to -- one which requires a bit of lead-in! Shifting her weight, she lifts the teacup. "You know, the one that -called- me a sex symbol? Did you catch the part where I -didn't- want to be one? The part where I -wanted- to be a responsible role model for the youth of Southtown?" Pausing to sip her tea, she adds, "It's gonna take me a while to learn how you folks do things here. It =isn't= going to happen overnight."

Kasugano gestures towards her outfit with a hand. "But that ain't to say I ain't trying. When I talk to a Seijyun student in the halls, you better believe I'll be formal and nice-nice. 'Cuz that's my job. But as soon as I go back to my dorms, it's me-time all over again."

Kasugano points back to the door of the lounge, at this point. "And as soon as I cross into the teacher's lounge? Ditto. Because if I gotta act like I got a stick up my rear like the rest of the folks here, =all= the time, I'll go nuts! An' then you =will= have to be the bad guy!"

Kasugano's stance stiffens, and she gives a more formal curtsy -- the best one can without dropping the teacup, anyway -- lowering her eyes in deference, and even shifting to a more formal tone. "However, Madame President, when I leave this room I will be the very model of delicacy, I assure you."

If Tsukushi saw Sakura act formal like that, he'd be doubling over with laughter right about now.

Yurika draws in her lips slightly. Something very important and very interesting, at least to the elder Kirishima, happens at this very point. However she won't deny the point; when it's brought to question, the magazine is actually taken out of her desk and placed on the table. And yet as Sakura's speech of sorts continues, Yurika remains quite calm. Actually she's well aware of Sakura's exact words in the article; but of cours she doesn't mention that because it'd be used against her.

Yurika gets to her feet then, and not long after returns the curtsey with one of her own. "Yurika is fine, Miss Kasugano. It was wrong of me to suggest that you haven't been trying, I admit that and I apologize." The musician turns around to look outside, to the yards below. "Thank you for your time, then. Feel free to see me at any time if any issues arise. And while it may mean nothing to you at this point; I've grown rather fond of you as a result of this discussion."

[OOC] Helios says, "Next issue of New Challenger: Yurika hot for Kasugano! Seijyun heats up."

[OOC] Sakura DIES

[OOC] Sakura was thinking something along those lines

[OOC] Yurika faceplants

The Taiyo graduate's smile returns in diminished fashion as Yurika offers her apology. Again, she curtsies, as politeness demands: "Apology accepted." She'd start to say something else, but then it'd be disingenuous of her. Sakura -knows- how to be polite, she just chooses not to most of the time. Especially when she's being persecuted -- at least in her own mind -- for crimes she hasn't yet committed.

"I'll be sure to do that, Miss Ki-- Yurika." Kasugano responds quietly and humbly -- the time for confrontation clearly has passed. ... And replaced with the time for wtfness, as Sakura's jaw hangs open in confusion at Yurika's final words.

Gulp. Sakura regains her breath after a moment, and stammers, "I'm... honored! And, um... thank you for speaking with me..."

This will be the time at which Kasugano turns on her heels and scampers right out of the teachers' lounge. /do not waaaaant/
