Nagare - Nagare Visits Pacific!

Description: Nagare goes to visit Pacific High, and meets Vince LaRose! Knowing that he heard some rumors that Vince had fought Himeko, another Taiyo student, Nagare moved to find out exactly how the boy fights! It's a clash of fencing and swimming!

Nagare, after everything, decided fully well that today he was going to go visit someplace after hearing of a few fights between the students. It's perfectly fine, since you learn while you fight in this world, but he decided, for once, that he was going to have a little fun and take the rest of the day off.

It's his first time in the Pacific (school), as he's swam the Pacific (ocean) before. But this was nothing like the ocean he thought as he entered. There was no waves or fish or anything. And he couldn't find the pool! This must be a mistake. He probably got confused somewhere, as there must be a pool around for the students to swim.

But for now, he finds the atheletic field! Which, funnily enough, has an ocean not too far away. And the beach. Nagare smiles. What an excellent view for the man wearing nothing but a Taiyo school jacket and a speedo. He also wears his swimming gear everywhere, like flippers, but that's entirely for different reasons.

Looking about, he takes it all in. He's obviously just enjoying the simplicity of school life.

For certain, the lack of pool is a very woeful trait of Pacific High. One which Vince laments frequently. It's far too cold to enjoy the beach, after all. The sight of the beach from the athletics field, therefore, is little more than a tease to the students. At least, that's how Vince feels about it.

But that's a case to be presented to the school board.

Vince, right now, is clustered with a few other students, not many of them looking very typical or "trendy", save for Vince himself. They are, in fact, the school drama club. And drama kids, if nothing else, are quirky sorts. But for the time being, everything seems perfectly unassuming. Peachy-keen, in fact! They're simply wandering along the field, killing some time presumably between classes, chatting about The Diviners.

Until their path takes them right across the path of Nagare. The lead three of the group come to an abrupt halt, giving the strangely-decked out man an awkward stare. Those behind the three, including Vince, bump into them. "Wha-," starts a short brunette, only to cut herself off when she sees Nagare.

And in no time, all eyes are just gawking at the man. And that's seven pairs of eyes right there. All... just... staring. Very O.O at him. Until finally, the biggest, broadest male of the group speaks up.

"What the Hell?"

True to any drama kid, he's the eloquent sort. Really.

Nagare doesn't even notice. He's a very nice, wise coach for how he looks. You can tell that he's smiling already from just seeing his back. He looks about, taking in the scenery before eyes begin to beam down on him. He doesn't notice at first, but, well, that changes when some one speaks up.

Nagare turns, flippers in hand and in foot, waves towards him. "Hello, sir." Nagare states, "How are you to day?" The man's rather simple and straight forward, at least, he seems to be. It doesn't look like there is anything he should be overly put off about or anything.

"And I don't think I have anything to do with hell either." He exclaims, "at least, not on purpose." Nagare is the perfection of manliness, nothing more, nothing less!

Maybe he might have broke some rules or something. He looks towards the club, not really saying anything but a simple "Hello." To them.

And the drama club just continues to stare. Until the diplomatic Vince finally takes reigns of the situation, nudging his way out of the huddle to stand between them - huge eyes and all - and Nagare. His right fist lifts to politely cover his lips as he clears his throat, and when it lowers, he's boasting a pleasant, amiable smile.

"What my friend means is that.. he doesn't recognize you," he offers. "I don't think either of us do."

The eyes rotate from side to side, evident of some attached head shaking in agreement.

"That and it would seem that you're probably freezing yourself to death," Vince adds mildly, left hand loosely gesturing to Nagare's attire.

"Oh, this?" Nagare chuckles, "No, no not at all. I didn't even imagine it was cold until you mentioned it. And even then I have my coat to keep me warm there. Thanks for you concern however." Nagare states, looking back to the ocean now and again. It may be cold, but his mind is still on swimming!

"Oh. You're the one that fought one of our students at Taiyo lately? It's hard to tell I guess." Nagare states, scratching his head. "Something you cannot imagine how many people get into fights, and how many girlfriends some students can have!"

The Taiyo swimming coach then chuckles, "Well then, I'm Nagare Namikawa, a the Taiyo high swimming coach." The man explains, "Nice to meet you."

"I.. see..," Vince says slowly, brow furrowed. But then the topic shifts over to when Vince beat Hime. Hah. Darn straight. He's sure that circulated throughout the highschool, and he's pretty proud of it. Besides, if not for the win itself, then for the fact that the match's victory was dedicated to a former Taiyo student.

But the girlfriend remark gets a mild nudge from another brunette with a french braid behind him.

Vince shoots her a look over his shoulder, then back to Nagare. He has no idea what the relevance of that statement was, but still. He's sure it meant something. Probably. "So are you touring? I'm sure you find everything to be perfectly adequate, and beyond," Vince says coolly. To bring up the fight and announce he's from Taiyo? That put the noble a little on guard.

Vince says, "okay."

Nagare really wasn't a big, bad guy when it came to anything. "Oh, I'm just looking around." Nagare states, "I've never really been here before, so I'm just looking at the school for now." Nagare continues.

"It's pretty nice, it has a beach and everything, but I still prefer Taiyo, but that's probably because I've went there for so long." He exclaims, scratching his chin and stretching out a little. Even in the COLD Nagare doesn't seem to be very irked about it, if irked at all.

"I was just wondering, since you beat Hime, you have to be pretty good! So I wanted to see it for myself. You can go first if you want, I don't mind anyways. It'll be a good work out for me!" Nagare smiles afterwards. Wait he's serious?

Yeah Nagare isn't really, well, he never beats around the bush.

"Of course, of course," says Vince diplomatically. It only makes sense that Nagare would favor Taiyo, considering it's where he's from. But still, talk about awkward. Vince isn't used to addressing people in this form of.. well.. exposure. An awkward, sidelong glance is shot to his group, who just peer back at him unhelpfully. When his icy blues return to Nagare, it's right in time to hear the odd invitation. And Vince wants to make sure he heard it right.

"You... want.. to fight me?," he asks, justifiably confused. -This- man fights? In -that- outfit? This is somewhat disturbing. "Are you sure? I wield true steel, which tends to cut into things..."

Nagare nods, "Oh, it's fine. Fine. I've fought people before that weild all kinds of things." Nagare states. If he isn't afraid of sharks then he isn't afraid of everything!

Well, almost anything.

"I'm sure it'll be perfectly fine." The man states, looking towards Vince. "People use all sorts of weapons, so it wouldn't really be fair if I couldn't, well, deal with any of them. Yeah." Nagare states with a chuckle.

"So, it's really up to you! I'm just offering a friendly fight."

A friendly fight? Is there such a thing? Especially considering this is a representative of Taiyo, after all. And judging by his age, probably a teacher. ...A very quirky teacher, at that. That really explains a lot, to Vince. At least it explains Hime.

But Vince digresses with a shrug of his shoulders. "Very well," he replies. And in an instant, he's drawn his blade from its sheath and into his hand, angled low at first. Suddenly, it's brought vertical before his face in a crisp fencing salute.

"En garde."

In an instance, Vince has lept into action, covering what distance there was between them and landing in a very deep, very low lunge. The tip of the blade is thrust towards Nagare's midsection, forceful enough to ideally impale the man. Such is how Vince prefers his matches - quick and decisive.

Nagare is a swimmer. A swimming swimmer. A swimmer that can... swim. And now, he's going to have to be fighting a Pacific High student! Well he needed to brush up a little on his figthing style, and, well, learning more than just Taiyo! He's a helpful sort, so he's pretty happy to be doing whatever he can.

As Vince appears, taking out his blade, Nagare knows very well it's coming! Perhaps because Vince told him earlier. Heh. Well, he did! And Nagare listened. He's a good listener. So even as he calls the fight and lunges forward, trying to strike into his midsection, Nagare stops the blade, both fins clenching the blade as it pushes at his chest, catching it so it can only to the bare minium. "Geeze! You're a fencer, huh!"

Well, he didn't know that!

With his knew revelation, Nagare tries something simple.

Backing up from the blade, he lurches into the sky, swimming up, up, and up as water chi falls towards the ground, and then, eventually, he turns around, attempting to head into the ground, and Vince in turn!

Vince never really expects someone to just -catch- the blade. Especially with as fast as Vince tends to let it flash. But this time, it just doesn't work for him. What's worse, from the low lunge position, he's a plain target for the completely bizarre follow-up. Vince is smacked right on the head with Nagare's, grounding him immediately with an 'ouf'.

And the drama kids all gasp and frown.

But Vince is quick to recollect himself, and he springs back from Nagare into the air. Suit jacket wafting out in the chilly breeze and revealing his rosettes, Vince suddenly plucks one from his belt and whirls it over in his palm. Immediately following this, he flings it towards Nagare, the tip of the red and green stiletto glinting in the sunlight.

COMBATSYS: Vince successfully hits Nagare with Medium Fling.

The rosette strikes Nagare! It certainly does strike him, after all. He wasn't really expecting a rosette to do so much, even as he was recovering from striking the ground. He does fake back with a chuckle after words, "Excellent!" he states. Perhaps it's because the man didn't start off so... well, hot.

Still, Nagare is throwing his hat into the ring for the battle!

The rose keeps him back, if only for a moment as he wonders what exactly to do. And, for once, Nagare actually doesn't attack. He wants to see more.

"Alright! Show me what you got!" Nagare states, looking towards Vince as he, for a moment, stands there even as the man may continue to offensive. He does, however, boost something else.

COMBATSYS: Nagare focuses on his next action.

And Vince lands in his stance again, at the ready. Hrm. That worked out well enough, he thinks. And now the drama students are cheering a bit. Hey, it's one of their own, after all. But Vince doesn't make any immediate assaults. Not yet, at least. Instead, he turns over to thrust his left hand into the air.

And nothing happens.

Not noticably at first, anyway.

But very shortly, something emerges from the sky above. A shape, smoky gray in color, descends rapidly through the heavens. As it draws closer, it becomes clearer as a falcon, which dives in directly over Vince's head. But suddenly, with an avian shriek, the obsidian-eyed falcon swoops in a crash-course with Nagare's face, talons extended. And if struck, the falcon just curves back into the air to disappear again.

COMBATSYS: Nagare endures Vince's Spirit Falcon.

Nagare watches as Vince continously attempts to keep him at bay. Well, Nagare can play that game. Or at least try to play that game! He's pretty good at playing such games.

Instead up bringing up his guard or striking out, Nagare actually took care of it all. He lashes out, the falcon diving right towards him. As it does, Nagare actually holds on to the 'spirit', riding it fully as he thrusts him sky ward.

As Nagare comes down, he falters a bit, but comes down clean, striking directly at the ground before Vince.

"Nice one!" He offers as he gets down, plopping backwards as he raises his feet. The fins begin to kick as he leans back, water chi flying off of them and towards Vince, trying to batter him while he's right there! Nagare's just having fun. A fight is fun, right?

COMBATSYS: Vince blocks Nagare's Splash Kick.

The falcon just carries on up into the sky and out of sight.

Vince, however, just readies his blade and waits for Nagare to drop back down. And once he does, he's giving that weird kick with the chi. Vince's blade crosses over quickly, taking a good portion of the kick and ifying it, but enough of it splashes through to do some damage and merit a wince.

Nevertheless, Vince closes in quickly again, hoping to capitalize on that moment by instantly stabbing for Nagare's shoulder. Following this, the blade draws back and whisks out at the same shoulder, aiming to draw a cut from there to the opposite hip.

COMBATSYS: Nagare interrupts Medium Strike from Vince with Breast Stroke Kick.

Even as Nagare is stopped in one of his many gambits, one cannot stop Nagare completely! Or at least imagine they can.

Vinces blades comes back, coming towards Nagare, stopping some of his swim tastic moves as he spins about, preparing for something. Well, Vince seems to hope to capitalize on Nagare as he turns around, but wait, what's that?

Nagare is beginning to kick. He kicks hard, really hard, so hard that even as the blade comes, it doesn't really get too far before Nagare's already kicking it away. It bites his shoulder, but nothing more!

But for the bite, it gets what Nagare has to it! Nagare swims! He swims hard, thrusting his feet out behind him as he goes, the water chi and kicking feet prevent Vince from getting any closer, and might even make it harder for him! And it will, too. Meanwhile, Nagare swims in the air.

Vince is thusly kicked, in a very, very strange and precarious way. He's kicked pretty hard, all the same, and falls back onto his duff. Teeth are now grit, and icy blue eyes peer at the.. uh.. swimmer.. as he swims.. into the air. Seriously, what the spork is going on here?

Without sparing it much more thought, Vince pushes back up to his feet and thrusts his left hand into the air again. And this time, it isn't a falcon that descends. It's a massive tornado that ascends from beneath Nagare, the swirling vortex of visible smoky gray wind shredding and ripping high into the air to catch him and, indeed, throw him akimbo higher up still!

COMBATSYS: Nagare dodges Vince's LaRose Storm.

Nagare watches as Vince puts the pedal to the medal and fights back with might! Nagare looks on, at first, wondering what to do. As he gets back up, Nagare lands from his swim rather perfeclty! It would almost be a '10' if a judge had judged him! And then he turns around, watching as La Rose descends, a massive tornado coming right behind him as he attempts to catch him!

Well then, Nagare's not having any of that! If almost by some sixth sense, he hurls himself backwards, swimming a backstroke as the tornado chases him. But... the tornado never makes it to him. Well that's one way to stop a tornado!

Looking back towards Vince, he lands, waddling back towards him. Yes, of all things, he waddles, moving towards him.

"Nice try!" He states in a true tone, as he lashes out a weird flipper kick towards Vince's chest!

COMBATSYS: Nagare successfully hits Vince with Light Kick.

Vince            0/-------/----===|=======\-------\1           Nagare

Evading the massive tornado is really something. And not something Vince recovers from fast enough to avoid the kick, apparently. He's hit squarely and stumbles back.. and from the coughing fit that ensues, it's entirely likely that Vince won't be lasting much longer. Still yet, he dashes towards Nagare, despite it all, and attempts a quick horizontal slice across his torso. Nothing fancy, just a quick, horizontal slice. He'll keep his comments to himself, but so far, he's not pleased with himself.

COMBATSYS: Nagare blocks Vince's Quick Strike.

Even as Vince lashes out again with another strike, dashing towards Nagare. The quick, horizontal slice just strikes clean, but once again is hamperred by Nagare's fins acting as mini shields! It cuts, but only so much. The coach is putting up a really nasty defense!

"You're slow down," Nagare states, sort of by accident, "you should have some endurence training!" The swimmer announces as he waddles as fast as he could ever, moving quickly among the ground, going and going and going. It almost looks humerous as he does.

But as he leaps into the air, he lashes out with a flipper axe kick! A flipper axe kick?

Yes sir.

COMBATSYS: Nagare successfully hits Vince with Heavy Kick.

[                           \\\  < >  ///////////////////           ]
Vince            1/-------/=======|=======\=------\1           Nagare

And the axe kick hits, since Vince is indeed slowing down a little. Being beaten up does that to him, in a way. It does that to most people. But it does appear as though he should have some endurance training. But the kick is hard enough to smash him against the ground.

And there he stays. At least for a little while. He weakly starts to push himself up again, clearly hurting from all of this. And proceeding obviously isn't the healthiest of ideas Vince has ever had, but nevertheless, he's doing it. The brunette with the french braid squeaks and starts to move forward for whatever reason, but she's stopped short by one of the males. Yeah, it'd be a silly idea to rush into a fight. Vince is pretty unaware of this, at any rate. He just raises to his full height, and suddenly dashes for Nagare one last time.

The blade's lunge is sudden and swift, and the force behind it is heavy - ideal for impaling up to the very hilt of the weapon. But at the same moment that the blade is thrust, it's wreathed in a swirling vortex of smoky gray energy. his energy lances along with the sword, aiming to penetrate Nagare right along with the steel and plunge directly through him. Were it a solid mass, or were it more potent, it would likely widen whatever hole the initial steel would put through Vince's target. Fortunately, it's only a spike of wind ethereal wind energy. For now.

COMBATSYS: Vince can no longer fight.

Nagare looks towards Vince. He's getting really beat up as he goes! But Nagare is a Taiyo coach. He has to give what he can, and after he did, give more. And continue giving until he gives absolutely everything he possibly can.

Lookign towards LaRose, Nagare sees some promise in him. He pushes himself straight towards Nagare without a thought. Some say it's suicidal or stupid, but against a foe it can sometimes surprise them! But Nagare's super weird six sense like swimming powers show him a flow is different. He spots Vince rushing, lunging forward with the weapon right at Nagare.

And from there, Nagare leaps into the air, swimming up and up and up, even for where Vince pushes harder. As Vince passes underneath, the water chi disappates, and Nagare falls to his flippers.

"Good fight!" He offers, "I can see why Hime lost to you!" Nagare states with a nod. "If you need any help, I know some tricks." He states. BUT WHAT ELSE CAN THIS WANDERING COACH DO.

Make fries? MAYBE.

COMBATSYS: Nagare takes no action.

COMBATSYS: Nagare has ended the fight here.

And without purchase for his blade, Vince's fatigue and injuries finally get to him, and he falls to a knee, blade upturning to plant into the ground. "Nnf.." He then peers over his shoulder at Nagare. "Not good enough," he mutters. But he's very determined to be that good. His blade wasn't fast enough. Not this time, at least. But where he fails, he sees somewhere to train and improve - somewhere to sharpen. He decidedly doesn't comment on Hime. That girl was a complete joke, and worthy only of that much of his attention. "...Perhaps..," he finally says at Nagare's offer. He has no idea how.. swimming.. can help, though. Except for endurance.

But we're drawn back to the icy ocean at the beach unsuitable for swimming.

Now, it's a good thing Vince doesn't vocalize his oppinion on Himeko, because all of Taiyo are weird, crazy people that have their own little quirks. And that's what makes it one damn good school.

Looking towards where Vince falls, Nagare begins to move over, water chi forming in his hands. "This shouldn't hurt at all." He states as he pumps some water chi into the man, it healing a few wounds he has over his body.

"You did fine." Nagare states, looking to the ocean as well.

"Yeah. The ocean is pretty good looking, even at this temperature." Nagare states, "It has it's beauty."

But does Vince actually trust Nagare enough to allow this? Certainly not. He's a noble of a particular 'faction'. Nagare is from one that, so far as Vince can tell, opposes his. So as he approaches, Vince forces himself to his feet again and sweeps his blade out threateningly at the encroaching hands, refusing whatever that chi was meant to do. "Stay your distance," he warns. "No offense, but I don't know you well enough." That explanation should suffice.

But Vince is definitely having a hard enough time just standing on his own. Seeing this, one of the drama students move over to assist him. And after the one, the others follow to huddle around protectively, all in silence and eyeballing Nagare. "..Perhaps in time," Vince offers weakly, expression stoic.

"Of course." Nagare states, backing up from the saber swat. He backs up juuuust enough so he doesn't get hit. Well, it seems now that he's getting eye balled, now is the time the leave as any! He seemed to overstay his warn welcome. Juuuust a bit.

"I'll see you later then." Nagare states, "Study hard and fight hard!" Nagare calls, turning about to leave. He does have some blood scatterd around him, and chi burns. But all in all, he can easily walk away from it.

He just hopes he didn't hurt anyone else in Pacific's standing!
