Description: Yurika turns in her favor Roberto owes by asking him to attend an all-girls Valentine's Day Party at Seijyun.. Without telling him it's an all-girls party. So what does he have to do to stay? Become hired catering staff. :)
Well it's taken some time.. Quite a bit of time, actually but after many delays and shifts and turns, the party has finally come to fruitation. What kind, exactly? Well, not many students in Seijyun have boyfriends, so in an attempt to boost a bit of morale within school ground, Yurika had devised a plan to set up a Valentines party. Luckily late on said afternoon is a rather nice day, it's a little chilly but not too much so and the flower garden has a very heavy valentimes theme; all sorts of patio chairs and tables are a shade of red or pink, and plants have been set up to provide even more color to the otherwise winter-worn area.
There are, thus far, about thirty four girls in attendance, all dressed up in moderatly formal attire, very nice dresses for certain. There's chattering aplenty, a lot of attention of course is going to the caterers at the catering tables, as they're mostly gentleman (a bit of a questionable choice, but Kirishima knows what she's doing.. We hope.).
Yurika herself, however, is waiting for a particular someone to arrive. He'd been instructed to dress not-to-casually, a button up, white shirt and dress pants would do, along with shoes. Ninon has also been invited to join the affair, with the promise that some amusement would be arriving. And who doesn't enjoy amusement, right? And there the girl stands, in a rather nice white dress, with matching gloves and shoes. Needless to say she's looking forward to what's to come.
And considering that he was going to this party because he owed Yurika this favor, he did follow the instructions, somewhat. Starting from the feet there were a pair of black dress shoes, navy blue dress slacks, black leather belt with silver buckles to offer contrast to the pants and shoes, white shirt button-down shirt with thin sky blue stripes and blue blazer.
However there were a few ways that Roberto might've deviated from what Yurika probably had in mind when she gave those instructions. First of all the shirt is worn with a popped collar reason being that he wouldn't be wearing a tie. Secondly no one would be getting the soccer star to ditch his favorite sky blue visor without a physical altercation though as a concession to a more formal atmosphere, he slicked his normally unruly hair into a pony tail.
As for the first thought that enters Roberto's head is, 'What am I doing here?' He never thought he'd ever have to set foot here.
A Valentine's Day party? Ninon had seriously considered not even bothering to attend the party at all. An invitation is just that, she was in no way obligated to mingle with people that she, for all intents and purposes, couldn't care much less about. She didn't care for her fellow students and she didn't care to meet some 'gentleman' who would no doubt try and fail to sweep her off her feet. No, Ninon Beart is a girl who didn't have a great deal of interest in concepts like 'love'. She may be able to understand attraction, but to devote herself to some sap out of some emotional attachement? It just doesn't work with her logic.
Ninon's concept of 'formal attire' is a bit....different to say the least. She doesn't come dressed in her favored attired, her frilly black dress. Instead, she appears to have entirely changed her look for the party, her hair dyed black, aside from the tips which are dyed a faint red with red ribbons in it, and a decorative red and black kimono covering her body. You would never suspect she was American judging by her current look. "I find myself curious as to why you invited me to this." is Ninon's greeting as she approaches Yurika. As for Roberto....to her he's just another face in the crowd so far. No one to catch her interest.
This was a very very very rare opportunity for the older Kirishima; it was imperative that she makes the most out of this moment. She's been paying a lot of attention to the young soccer star, it almost might lead one to believe she has a crush on him! Isn't that sweet?
When the young man arrives at the gates to the garden, his inner thoughts are well warrented. He looks like he's the only male here who's not an employee! And it's for that very reason that Roberto -should- catch Ninon's interest. To her knowledge this should have been a girls-only party. So technically this is breaking the rules. Roberto, however, was not given the liberty of being told such a thing.
Yurika gives Ninon her usual little smile, it's clear she's in quite a good mood, "Oh, you'll see. One of my favorite toys should be coming along and I thought it may inspire you to looking into one yourself. Though part of it is, I may need a little help.." The girl will leave it at that for now, for when Roberto catches her eyes, the musician is quite suddenly moving in his direction... As eyes are starting to turn to the young man. "Mister Miura, how wonderful for you to have finally made it!" she says with a curtsey, "And you're looking extremely handsome, the collar makes you look a bit playboyish, but I suppose I could let that slide.. How do you do?"
Toys... If Roberto was privy to that, he'd have some serious objections, but as it stands Roberto remains blissfully ignorant of the exchange. His eyes search through the garden for the host and eventually he sees Yurika talking with Ninon and eventually Yurika making a b-line for him. Deep inside as he watches Yurika take each footstep, he's filled with a growing sense of dread. Between this party and getting blown up last year by Rolento after Gabriel announced their supposed engagement, is it any wonder why Roberto is growing to hate Valentines' Day?
"Thank you." Roberto's voice remains somewhat distant. He bows politely to both Ninon and to Yurika. Notably absent is a 'Pleasure to be here.' Roberto is only here because presence is required.
The kimono-clad girl suddenly finds herself regretting her presence here less. This could prove quite amusing. She allows a sly little smile to touch her lips as she casually follows behind Yurika. She isn't about to ruin her comrade's fun. It's much more interesting to just play along. "Aaaah, this must be the one you were telling me about, Yurika." Her voice is.....surprisingly cheerful sounding. It seems that she'd make a good actress if she wanted to. "Such a nice looking fellow. You shouldn't of kept him to yourself so long." Even Yurika might be surprised at how the normally arrogant, self-centered and certainly rude girl is acting. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ninon. Ninon Beart. I haven't lived here too long, so I haven't had a chance to get to know many people like Yurika has. I'm sort of jealous, really." She sounds so much like Mignon that it is scary. And inside, she's internally vomitting a little just thinking of acting remotely like her sister. How long will she be able to keep it up? Probably not very long.
Notably absent is something that Yurika is generally always noticing. But she will let it slide this time, if only because things will only get more interesting in her opinion. Some manners is better than no manners, after all. So then, what's going to happen this Valentine's Day?
Yurika -is- caught off-guard by Ninon's behavior, however, the smile on her lips faulters.. Faulters for perhaps a second or so before it's back in full bloom. She really hasn't a clue what it is that Ninon is up to but.. So long as she's willing to play along for a bit, is an opportunity she must sieze quickly while it lasts! .. She must really like toys, she thinks.
"Yes as she said this is Miss Beart, Discipline Officer of this schools comittee," Yurika explains as she gestures to the which. "She's one of our schools most talented, and very in tune with tradition."
Yurika raises a hand to her cheek, which reddens a touch, "Are you 'interested'?"
At first Roberto's personal interest in Ninon is at nil. Her association with Yurika lowered his opinion of the kimono clad Seijyun student. When he hears the cheerful voice of Ninon, there's a bit of confusion on his part. What is someone like Ninon doing associating with the likes of Yurika Kirishima?
Needless to say when Ninon introduces herself a sense of recognition kicks in. "Beart? Would you happen to have a sister by the name of Mignon?" Roberto does eventually remember himself. "Forgive me. I didn't introduce myself. I'm Roberto Miura, goalkeeper and striker for Taiyo's football team." He pauses for a moment as he tries to select the right words. "Anyway it's an honor to meet you." The distance in his tone of voice becoming an ongoing theme. It's as if he's trying to subtly push people away from him.
And so much for her little act. It was distasteful enough to Ninon to try and act so damned NICE, but all it took was being attributed to her big sister to bring a scowl to the girl's face. "I will thank you to not mention that blight upon the Beart family name, Roberto Miura." Her tone lacks the sugar-laced tone that it held mere moments ago. It is probably much more in line with what Roberto would expect one associated with Yurika to sound like. Commanding. And arrogant. That is the tone of voice that she takes.
"The less I have to think about her, the better." Her arms cross in front of her, as she locks her eyes onto her new conversation partner. "Let us talk of a less unpleasant topic, shall we?" You don't have to try hard to push Ninon away. She's only in it for as long as it proves to be entertainment. Prove boring, and she's gone. This, of course, won't save you from Yurika! "Tell me, if you will. How did you and Yurika come to know one another?"
Yurika's dark eyes are focused more on Roberto than Ninon at the moment, though she does cringe the moment Mignon's name is mentioned. Well, it was certain now that Ninon would transform into a werewolf and devour the rising star whole! Or something to a similar effect. And yet she continues to look delighted before her company. "That was a big 'no-no word', Mister Miura. Well, better luck next time perhaps?" she offers, though doesn't provide any foresite to how the pair had met. Though this is partly because of the fact that one of the chaperones, a rather tall woman who is also well dressed, (and probably one of the teachers) has arrived seeming mildly annoyed. She lowers slightly, a hand raised to her lips to whisper into Kirishima's ears, the musicians eyes widening a touch in response. ".. Oh dear. I see.. Well that is a problem, isn't it."
Too bad... It probably would've warmed the cockles of Ninon's heart to know that Roberto repeatedly beaned Mignon in the head with soccer balls in their Neo League match. Oh well. Not that Roberto would've known this. "I had no idea that things were like that." Was it an apology? Not really but it could be interpretted as such.
And then comes the point when the question of how they met comes up. Roberto has no reason to not be honest though at this point it could only create more chaos at this party. "We met last year. For some unknown reason I received a valentine from Zaki." He pauses for a moment as takes the breath. "At the time I also had some lunatic by the name of Gabriel Kai who stalked me and was claiming that she was my fiance. She was following me around, searching my lockers. I came to the park to see if I could warn Zaki about Gabriel. I met Yurika instead."
"Aaah, the elusive Zaki. I have not yet met her myself." Ninon comments. "I will probably make it a point to do so eventually, I think. It should prove...interesting, to say the least." The girl seems curious at to what the 'problem' troubling Yurika is, but not so curious as to actually ask about it. "I shall leave the two of you to talk among yourselves for now. Do be careful with Yurika. She's such a fragile little flower." You can almost see the girl laughing as she fades back into the crowd.
It's certainly quite a tale. And it's not a tale that goes unnoticed by many ears, because Roberto's presence alone is enough to keep some eyes on him, others passing by just out of utter curiosity. The teacher beside Yurika gives Roberto a pointed look as well, and makes her way off without as much as a 'hello'. Yurika passes another glance to Ninon, "Thank you for your presence, as always.." she replies, and then looks back to Roberto, her hands folded in front of her. The valentine incident wasn't supposed to reach other ears at this time, and will probably be taken out of context, but.. Well she'll deal with that later. "She is right, of course.. I'm not nearly as talented as you are.. But that aside, it seems there's a problem.."
Yurika's expression tries to look a bit more serious. But she's failing, "It would appear that I had forgotten that it was decided this is tobe a girls only gathering. This could be quite a problem for the both of us if a solution doesn't come up. Oh dear."
First of all, Roberto would be the first to call into question the whole fragile like a flower. Their fight in Thailand has done a lot to convince him otherwise and watching Yurika in the mall has done even more to convince him disbelieve that perception of Yurika.
When Yurika mentions that the party was supposed to be a girls only party, Roberto sees daylight. The potential of escaping this party becomes much better. "I wouldn't want to cause a problem for you. Perhaps I should go. Thank you for the opportunity to make an appearance though.\"
Yurika, of course, plays ignorant. She's very well aware Roberto knows how competant she can be, perhaps it's more suprising that Roberto doesnt' question it aloud. Such a gentleman! The fact that he seems fairly eager to get out of this atmosphere is an emotion to her like a shark to blood.
"Well we can't have that, we did have an agreement after all," Yurika says, her hands clasped togeather. "Though luckily, after doing a little looking around, I have come up with a suitable solution." The clasped hands then clap twice; and a gentleman is suddenly coming from behind Roberto and between the pair with a silver platter with a large cover over it. "I have hired the catering here, so it's obvious to me that I should simply hire you as well. And that way, you can be here with no problems."
The cover is lifted, and on the platter are a few items: One is a pure black visor, white gloves, and a white cloth that is usually worn over the forearm. "Well then, do try them on~."
His tone of voice becomes a hiss of a whisper filled with an uncharacteristic amount of venom, "Well you did clean my mess, so I suppose I should clean yours." After that Roberto takes the white cloth and white gloves and puts them on. "But you can forget about me parting with my visor. That's crossing into unreasonable territory, 'Yurika-sama.'"
He then moves to where the staff is going to be to receive his marching orders. There is one thing that Yurika should probably remember. It's never a good idea to mess with a person who is handling your food.
