Vince - Renaissance Fair - Day 1

Description: Southtown gets a renaissance fair! Nifty keen! Such an event draws out a good few people, which would obviously include Vince LaRose. The swordsman is not only attending, but he's rented a spot and set up a blacksmithing shop of sorts. Iincyo is out and about surveying things, as chairpeople are wont to do, and Himeko winds up bumping into them both... and proceeds to irritate Vince. All the while, poor Iincyo is caught in the middle. Is Himeko actually a mean, spiteful person? Whatever reasoning she has, one thing is clear: do not belittle authentic nobility.

The Renaissance Fair has come to Southtown! And true to the spirit of that glorious period in time, they've decided to hold it in the middle of the woods! ..But there are clear markers along trails to show where one should go in order to find it. And once arrived, that lucky person will be met with many, many stalls and temporarily erected shacks, booths, and even wagons! There's lots to do and lots to see! Everything from archery to smithing, from storytelling to palm reading by "authentic" gypsies! Oh, it's -the- place to be.

If you're a nerd.

Or super cool.

..Or, heck, if you just have time to kill.

The young noble, Vince LaRose, is present at any rate. He's far from nerdy, being one of the more athletic students of Pacific High (yes, fencing is an athletic sport, screw you), and it certainly isn't because he has nothing else to do - he could be training, you know. But he -is- one of the more popular students of the high school, he isn't here for 'super coolness' reasons. He's here because the whole atmosphere just feels right to him. It's been his schtick for most of his life, feeling misplaced in his century of birth. So whenever he hears an event of this make is underway, he's one of the first on the scene. And at this time, he's set up a little blacksmithing alcove, a wide open space shaded by a tent alcove, complete with authentic anvil, stokes, flasks.. the works. But the rakish young blacksmith isn't working that at the moment. No, right now he's lingering just beside it, taking a break and letting his little spot o' operations air out and cool down. It gets friggin' hot in there, after all. But so far, people have been thrilled to see him handcraft them little trinkets right before their eyes. It's been a hit.

The Renaissance Fair is certainly something that was welcome to the bleak atmosphere, sometimes, due to the fighting. And the set up for such a thing, well, had to be dealt with with care. That's why Iincyo was one of the many who was instrumental to getting such a thing done.

Ignore the fact that she still isn't looking too good from having been basically beaten up a few days earlier due to her insistence to try out, once, an SNF.

It went about how well you expected to to. And while she achieved what she had aimed for... she had a few more or less serious wounds that needed to be taken care of. She's not as bendable and restaurant as some other fighters. She doesn't bounce back.

Still, walking about with a clipboard in one hand, Iincyo is out and about, keeping things in schedule, and running smoothly. That's part of her job, after all, and it's quite an important one to her. Currently, she heads towards Vince's blacksmith, to check up on it as well.

She's heard it's been doing quite well.. and this is always a good thing to hear. Especially when student enjoyment comes into play.

Himeko Kashiwagi was rarely a very outgoing type, thinks like Fairs? Way too many people, it's pretty freaky. But once you start developing the journalists blood, (and being a little crazy doesn't hurt), one has to overlook the bad to partake in the good.

Mimiru knows first hand that if there's anything the Taiyo student loves, it's cosplay! And her way to overcome her anxiety around large crowds? Well, she'd have to go as her alternate persona, Hurricane Hime!

Does that mean she is running around in her pink bodysuit? Not quite, she's dressed as the Mary Queen of Scots! You know, only it's with an ensamble of pink, white and wine red, and her hair is still bleached; and she's sporting a wine red headwrap, but it's the thought that counts, right? And despite it's.. Extravegance, it's actually a very accurate representation of style.. And at her height she looks more like a princess.

The girl's been positivly beaming since setting foot in the fair, but it is kind of lame to be here by herself. Note to self: Next time bring a friend! "Wooooooooooooow this is SO COOL!!" she squeals to herself, "Oh oh, I should see the poets.. Wait no, the jousting! Wait no, I know, I should get a sword! No, a shield!" She quickly flips through the program guide, she similarly beelining toward the ye old smithy shop.. pe.

Vince continues with his break, tipping his head in polite, cordial greeting to the passersby. Finally, it seems as if his little alcove is cooled off enough to be sufficient. So he leans off the post and he starts towards the anvil again. Only he's cut short from actually starting any work. Past the hanging row of (dulled, non-pointy) rosettes strung along the edge of the tent overlap, he spies Iincyo. He hesitates a few seconds, and a softer, more distant smile comes to his pleasant face.

Once she's actually arrived, it takes him a couple seconds longer before he finds his voice again. "Ah- Greetings," he hails, head bowing slightly. "To what do I owe the honor of your presence, my lady?," the swordsman inquires, refined voice soft and smooth, tinged with the faintest of french accents.

Himeko's approach hasn't been noticed just yet, but all things considered, that won't be long awaited.

Ah yes. Here we are. The blacksmith. Iincyo does a bit of a check up, everything seemingly doing well. Caught in her work, she doesn't notice until Vince is right there, and speaking up to her, before turning and looking up from the clipboard. As he hails, bowing to her, and asking of the honor of her presence... Iincyo has always been one to be a friendly soul, at least.. but she never was very into dress up.

"A pleasure as well." She comments, a slight smile, her voice friendly enough, but still within the guard that she keeps up as Chairperson. She has a reputation to uphold, after all. "The various parts of the Fair it was eventual I would come to check, but it is quite nice." She adds, noticing Himeko.. oh .. wait, is that..

"Hime?" She says, breaking her guard she had up for Vince. "Oh how's the fair been Hime?" She asks, friendly, before smiling to Vince. "It's quite a nice section you have hear.. especially from what I have heard." She adds, holding the clipboard to her side, under the jacket. "Smithing seems like it would take more than a bit of strength and work.. it must be a difficult craft."

It takes a moment, but as Hime starts getting closer, she notices some familar faces.. She's extremely suprised to see Iincyo, for one reason or another, and she's pretty easily recognizable. Vince, however, takes a third glance before he's recognized.. It's pretty suprising to her just how well he blends into the atmosphere and it makes the young student grin.

And then she's actually feeling an intense pang of jealousy(?) toward the young man, she won't forget his match against him for a very long time! One day.. One day she was going to have her revenge! By the time Iincyo addresses her, she'd see the 'Princess' standing there with her hands in fists, teeth grit and steam coming out of her ears. Minus the steam.

Her expression is blank when she's spotted, and then she's all smiles, "Lady Iincyo! Greetings!" she cries, quite on purposly muddling the 'language'. Suddenly she's right there with the two, looking happy as a clam. .. However a clam expresses that. "It's pretty badical!" she learned that one from Tran. She then looks to Vince.. And there's clear intensity in her eyes despite her grin.. You can see the lightning shooting from it! "Hark, we meet again, Sir LeRose." Zappy eyes -> +_+

Vince smiles pleasantly to Iincyo, despite how she seems to be very... professional. That's almost enough to kill the fun in meeting her. Almost.

He then spies Himeko on approach. Mostly because Iincyo points her out. And her look? Well... he's used to looks like those, for a variety of reasons. But his expression remains amiable and innocent, still keeping with the pleasant smile lacking any hint of malice.

The swordsman's soft gaze returns to Iincyo at her compliment, and his smile upgrades to a proud beam. "Oh, thank you very much. Blacksmithing is in my blood, all the way back to the roots of my heritage, so I try to do it honor with my work."

But those icy blues can't keep off of Himeko for too long. Come on, with the way she's looking at him? You'd think he ate her baby or something. "A good day to you, too, m'lady," he greets, sounding chipper as ever. "...Does something vex you?," he finally asks, while hoping the other girl doesn't wander off.

To see Hime, now that's quite a sight! Especially when she's basically foaming at the mouth, and steaming.. but without the steam and foam. She's still angry looking, and Iincyo can understand it. Oh yes. Hime would certainly come victorious.. from what she thinks, that is.

Perhaps the fellow Saikyo student has a bit of a skew of favoritism.

As she cries greetings, Iincyo smiles, nodding, and waving. "Greetings Princess Hime." Especially what with the outfit Hime has on.. she's certainly a princess! Laughing a bit at what Himeko exclaims, she nods. Badical, huh? Oh now that's something... and then Hime .. seems a bit .. busy.

Right! Iincyo isn't exactly the most fun person to be around, but she is certainly kind, and hardworking. She's dependable, a good role model, and a leader of Taiyo High.

But no one said she was the most fun someone could really have. No. That's others. Looking to Vince as he looks to Hime, she shakes her head.. whether this is to Vince or Hime is a question in itself.. but she envies Hime's burning spirit and passion. She might've also heard of the .. 'incident' a few days ago on Taiyo property. The one where Chairperson was found lying bloody nearby the trophycase in the mainhall. It killed the spirit she had gained in the Dojo with Hime .. rather easily.

Yes. Chairperson is silent. This may not happen often.

The little Hurricane doesn't believe that at all, of course, she's found Iincyo to be quite entertaining.. Though considering she's not quite in her right mind, that may not be so suprising. But hearing the chairpersons words most certainly relaxes her, judging by the way her shoulders fall. "Princess Hime.. Haha! I see what you did there, that was pretty good!" she pipes, in good spirits once more. Perhaps for the time being she'll let bygones be bygones.. Besides, she wants a shield! "They put you to work pretty quickly, that's such a bummer.. When do you get to go on break?" she asks curiously.

Though once she does her attention is back to Vince, "Ah yes yes, the man of 'honor'," Himeko then notes making quote marks with her fingers. "Well! I didn't think I'd see you again so soon, Citizen LeRose, but nothing's wrong of course! I was wondering how long it would take you to make a tiara. Not the fancy ones, but a little half-crown." she makes a motion of the shape with her fingers. Thing Anthy Himemiya's tiara. Guess she didn't want a shield anymore.

She's just trying to push his buttons. Vince is certain of this. After he was trying to be polite and nice to her. "...It depends," Vince says, expression dropping to one of neutrality. For anyone that knows Vince, this is a clear indication of annoyance. "I could loop a clump of metal and stick it on your head, which wouldn't take long at all. Or I could condescend to expend real effort on it and make an intricate masterpiece."

So he thinks a little highly of his craftsmanship. But hey, have you seen those rosettes? Dagg.

"But before I do -anything- of that sort, I would ask you explain your tone. You question my honor? And I'm -nobility-, not mere citizenry," he reaffirms. Poor Iincyo is just caught in the crossfire at the moment.

Smiling happily to Hime.. princess Hime that is, Iincyo holds her clipboard close to her as Hime seems to go back off guard. Good! Good that's good. She doesn't want schools to be against each other, after all. And Hime asks about .. being put to work quickly, Iincyo gives her an odd look. "Huh?.. Oh No.. I'm volunteering. I feel it's only right." She says to Hime, smiling, "I'd want to make sure others are enjoying it.. that's what makes me happy." So in a way, she's very happy with what she's doing. Even if it's work. As Vince seems to assault Himeko, she shakes her head.. those words on that poor Hime. "I .. do not believe that Hime really deserves such...." She sighs. Oh, she always dislikes such squabbles. "I'm sure she didn't mean to offend."

Hime doesn't know Vince too well, no, and she doesn't really pay a lot of attention, admittadly, when Alexis is gushing about him- That's a bit unlike the heroine, as she's usually quite on top of gathering information of student reputations! Hime seems almost.. Smug toward the young blacksmith, and she withdraws a fan from behind herself, giving a little lady-like laugh, "Oh ho ho ho.. You're not the only one who's of ye olde 'nobility'."

There's a brief pause and with Iincyo's words, she quickly nods her head in agreement, her grin hidden behind the fan, "She's right, I guess you're not used to the tone of a Princess just yet. Nothing to worry about, it happens all the time, ah ha ha ha ha!"

Hime seems taken aback though, her fan falls a bit as her jaw drops, "W- Wait, you're serious? Well, I suppose so long as you're not overworking yourself.." There's a mild bit of concern there; she knows Iincyo's first SNF was not long ago; she's suprised the girl isn't exhausted. But that also makes her feel a little proud. A pause. And then she adds to Vince, "I will take the looped clump of metal, please. But the really good metal, not the ye olde cheap stuff~."

She's not taking him seriously. Strangely enough, considering Vince's flair for dramatics and eccentric costumes, this is generally a severe mistake. Her further condescension merits more than just a neutral look, but an angered one. She's belittling him at this point. "You'll sooner take my blade, peasant," he actually growls with the authoritative edge sharpened by prestige. "I'll labor in no way for you until you learn proper respects! If I lower myself enough to be polite to the likes of you, then you'll mind your tongue towards me, your better! Now off with you!" And he doesn't even seem to be joking about that. He's serious about getting rid of her. Treat -him- like a nobody? Like he's playing around? Treat his courtesy flippantly? Well, that's just something he's not prepared to tolerate.

But the expression softens notably when he looks to Iincyo again. "I apologize that you have to see me deal with such.. distasteful affairs," he comments, glancing sidelong at the smaller student. Vince's icy blue eyes then return to Iincyo. "I'm usually in much better spirits. Now. Was there something I could do for you, Miss...?"

Oh, Iincyo is exhausted.. she just can't show it. But it gets to her. Staying between Hime and Vince as they bounce around, her eyes droop a bit, and she almost falls asleep standing up, shaking herself slightly to wake up. She can't. Not right now. She's helping! She can't just .. doze .. off..

No! Standing straight up, she listens to Hime, and laughs a bit at her request. But it's short lived.

And Vince goes off on Hime, Iincyo holding a hand up to her mouth, covering it a bit. .... and as the eyes return to her, Chairperson shakes her head. "I .. was just seeing how everything was doing.. which was alright.. " She comments, but shakes her head. "But more importantly." That flare in her voice is back. "I think it's about getting along, beyond simply agreeing to the common belief. Anything here is for fun .. and I really do not believe anything was meant to jest.. especially how one would not be able to easily tell in such a fair.. I'm sure most of these people are not what they act as .. but yet, maybe we were a bit rude..." Notice the 'we'.

W- WOAH! Vince just uncaged the rage, and it truly is a sight to behold, the transformation quite there and yet.. Subtle in the most unusual way! It shouldn't be any suprised, however, that the young fighter isn't visably shaken up. But one thing is for certain, her spirits are raising still, and yet in her eyes there's definatly a defiant look. She's out for him for -some- reason. Hime, the master of passive aggression?? She raises her free hand to her chest, "A -peasent-?? How -dare- you refer to me in such a manner, I assure you were my guards here, I would havest thee in shackles in an instant! Never.. Never in my life!"

Hime gives a little huff, turning her back to Vince, and fans herself quickly, then directs to the Chairperson, "No no, it is quite all right. My father, the great king himself, will be sure to correct this minor discrepancy! Of course, should our young Blacksmith choose to apologize, I can overlook this skirmish~."

Vince shifts his gaze from Iincyo critically to Himeko. And, as he might have suspected, she continues her indignance. "You loiter. I said be gone," he repeats, tone more even, more tense. "You, miscreant, command no one. I stay my hand -only- for the sake of those around at this point, but my patience has a limit. Be off with you, whelp."

Now lacking in any sort of softness in expression, Vince looks to Iincyo coolly. "If you hold any sway over this fool, you'll see that she removes herself. She's getting no more here than her own personal humiliation. Were it not for a desire to shed no blood today, I'd have removed her myself by now."

Hime gives a huff, and Iincyo's pushed to the side again, trying to shove a wedge between the fight, but it's not working. She's told it's alright by Hime. She's told it's a horrible tragedy by Vince that the 'fool' Hime is still here, and she's being irritating. She's been feeling rather tired, exhausted even, as she tries to juggle everything.. and the fights.

Sometimes, you just crack.

Well. Almost. "There's no point to fight between you two.. this is supposed to be something for all the schools to enjoy." She points out.. but it's lost in the conversation. Oh it feels so hopeless. "Look.. .." One one hand, Hime is needlessly aggravating the situation. On the other, Vince is taking this way too far. Violence.. for the little joke?

She stumbles a bit forwards, almost collapsing again. "Really. Violence isn't necessary...!"

Poor Iincyo. She probably has to deal with this kind of thing every day, and the bottom line is.. She doesn't want to be a problem for the girl who's just trying to do her job- And looks like she could REALLY use a bottle of coffee milk! "There's no need, Citizen Iincyo," Hime then replies, a hand on her hip and her closed fan tapping herself on the cheek. "I can escort myself out on my own if he's going to be this way about it, I was a fool not to notice how chivalrous and honorable he truly is and now I feel like such a fool."

She closes her eyes and pretends to shed a tear. However her expression then gets slightly, eeeeever so slightly more serious as she points the fan to Vince, "Don't think for even a minute I'll let you get away with what you've done."

And then to the tired Iincyo, "Let's meet at the joust tournament later, ok? It's important. Adios!" with a slight grin the 'Princess' excuses herself, she's going to check out the jesters!

"Nor you, worm," Vince hisses back to Himeko. "Mind your tongue from now on."

Purely agitated by the whole ordeal, Vince just looks to Iincyo. Well, he's now utterly disenchanted with her. If she associates with the likes of Himeko, there can't be much to her appreciable, can there? So in disdain, he lifts a hand to wave her off, disgusted. And to think, he tried to be nice! That afterthought puts a horrid taste in his mouth, and so he saunters to an end of his alcove to fetch a water bottle.

With Hime responding that way, telling her there's no need before telling her later to meet her at the joist tournament. "Oh.. I'll see you there then Hime!" She waves, before turning to Vince. ... Worm. Sigh. There's no hope. But as she looks to Vince.. she's waved off. The man doesn't even want to see her.

Raising the clipboard, the sounds of scribbling are heard as Chairperson makes an important note that.. will be kept for future reference, and perhaps, have some importance.

Meanwhile, Chairperson walks off, towards the next area.. but she won't make it.

She'll head to some of the organizers and sleep in the back of a supply tent for a little. Then she'll meet Hime, later, looking much more awake, and less exhausted. She needs to keep a good example to students!
