Neo League 570 - #575: Drake vs Aranha

Description: Domino offers Aranha a rematch of their previous fight which was unofficial. The Neo League Fight ends up taking a toll not only on the two fighters but on the White House lawn. On the upside, Aranha manages to salvage his sunglasses this time. (Winner: Drake)

Ah, America. Land of the brave, home of the free... or whichever way that's supposed to go. With elections coming up soon, the White House has seen a fair bit of activity. At least, the tourists think so. As does the security staff. At any rate, Drake decided it was high time to rematch Aranha for a more 'official' fight. Official being in the sense of everyone in the world gets to see it, if they care to. And what better place right now than right in front of the gates of the White House?

A few parking cones have been arranged to outline a fighting zone of sorts outside the gates, and some men in black suits and sunglasses observe from both sides of said gates. A fair crowd has gathered to witness the spectacle on this bright, sunny day, and fortunately, they're keeping themselves civil for the time being.

That is, until a limousine pulls up right alongside the fighting zone. A chauffeur emerges from the drivers seat and moves to the back of the vehicle, pulling the door open. Out emerges Domino, decked in his street fighting garb... or what could be considered his casual attire. He's flexible like that. But the audience receives the model with a pop, and he turns to wave a gloved hand at them with a smile. Ah, how the Americans like him. Being pimped out in advertisements helps... but so does making a modest, insofar, name for himself. Plus, any wrestling enthusiast should know about him by now.

But Domino -does- have some ulterior motives. The easiest way to take his mind off recent events, he thinks, is to get right back into the swing of things. Start off with a fight or two, do some modeling work, do more training, help the community any way he can... you know how it is. Anything except thinking about his personal life right now.

So Domino steps into the fighting zone, turning around to face the audience with his fists in the air, secret service agents behind him with their arms folded and tight-lipped frowns worn.

Aranha in his wilder days would've jumped at an opportunity to book a fight at the White House. Being able to sneak around and grab stuff that would be extremely valuable right after a match. Even if he didn't win he'd get a big pay day.

Aranha still would jump at the opportunity but now it's for a different reason. Being able to make money off of his fights, developing a reputation, and just having fun with the fights are enough for him to be happy. Now if only he could through a fight without his Oakley Thumps getting destroyed he'd be a happy man.

Speaking of which, Aranha approaches the lawn followed by a Secret Service detail of his own. Spiderweb motif bandana holding down the mp3 playing sunglasses and denim jacket and jeans, Timberland boots.

The fan support for the Metro City native isn't as loud but he's not a model or a wrestler. His support is still there. One thing that Drake might notice is that he's cheerful as he enters the fighting zone not feeling the need to invoke the heel persona he uses at the Slam Masters Arena.

Comparatively, the capoerista might notice that Drake's in higher spirits than the last time. Domino's still waving to the audience as Aranha enters, and he only breaks his gaze from them once he's a fair ways in.

Aranha is met with... a lighthearted smile. Ah, back to the roots. The Light Side of Domino. The friendly, cheerful, sporting sort. He inclines his head to his opponent. "Glad you could make it. You won't be winning this time, though," he warns with a grin. "So give it your all."

And with that, a loudspeaker located within the perimeter of the White House's gates calls out the sudden: "FIGHT!"

And just like that, Domino is rushing in towards Aranha, closing the gap quickly. The moment he's within range, he drops into a deep frontal stance on his right leg, both palms rocketing out towards his midsection in a double palmheel strike. As soon as the arms are fully extended, a burst of radiant white energy blasts out around his hands, adding concussive force to the hard strike.

Aranha's grin doesn't seem to vanish from his face. If anything it gets larger since he can just let loose with the fight and just have fun... Hopefully. And when Domino warns him of his impending loss, he teases him. "We'll see... Not all that glitters is gold, pretty boy."

The capoeirista goes into ginga swaying left and right, however he isn't quite able to make himself as hard to hit as he wanted to be. And the pair of chi engulfed palms connect with his stomach knocking Aranha off of his feet.

Aranha pulls himself back up into a crouch before drawing himself up into a handstand and then goes into rapid spin extending his feet to meet the side of the wrestler's head to stay in the handstand.

Domino remains in strike position for a few moments longer. His own grin? It's vanished. Such is the way of his Dark Side. All business. The only playing he does is to the audience in this 'mode', so to speak. But when Aranha upturns himself and begins to whirlwind towards him, Domino pulls forward in his already low position and rolls directly under the whirling feet to raise up behind him and out of strike range.

From there, Domino waits a second to let him cease the dangerous technique before dashing in again. This time, he simply aims to grab Aranha by the neck with his left hand, and by the hem of the pants with the right to heft him up over his head in a gorilla press. And from there, he turns over to simply bodyslam Aranha down against the ground.

Aranha watched as Drake rolled out of the way. The spin allowed the fighter to be aware of Drake's movement to where he'd be and then as Drake reached for the hem of his pants and for his neck, Aranha swung an arm around which while it didn't touch Drake, it allowed the capoeirista to spin in a different direction spinning himself out of the grip before it could be made.

After the attack is evaded he drops out of the handstand and while his hands are still planted on the ground and thrusts out a foot towards the wrestler's stomach.

Domino's fingers thusly grip naught but air, which actually comes a bit as a surprise to him. Emerging from a spin-cycle and managing to evade his grasp like that is a bit impressing. But then immediately comes a foot, which Domino attempts to seize. But he took note of it a mere moment too late, and it strikes its mark, knocking the model back a pace and doubling him over.

Aranha breathes a sigh of relief as soon as he draws back his foot knowing how close he got to getting his kick turned around on him. With a crouched run he plants his hand on the ground before standing back up to his feet. He takes a deep breath as he watches and looks for an opening.

He decides on working the same general area he had already landed and whirls around sending a side kick right for the ribs. It's not quite the same spot but it's close enough.

Stunned, but not out, Domino doesn't remain long in the doubled over position. He rights himself and instantly twists out of the way of the kick as it's delivered. The moment the foot is brought back, he closes in again to attempt hooking his right arm around Aranha's neck in a forward headlock. His right leg moves forward, then goes to hook with Aranha's right leg to pull it out from under him as Domino falls back. And if all goes as planned, Drake drives the top of Aranha's head against the ground, almost in an instant.

Aranha's completely overextended after launching the sidekick and it's a miracle that he's able to recover from the kick as well he does. When Drake hooks around his own leg pulls his out not allowing him to get a good lock but then Drake pulls back, Aranha jerks forward to resist the backward momentum and while it the jerking hurt it could've been much worse.

Aranha then begins his own response first with an elbow to the stomach to break the hold then a thrust of his head at the stomach as he grabs the back of Domino's legs and pulls them from under him sending him to his back and allowing the Dancing Spider to pull away from him once again.

The resistance to the throw was completely unexpected, as Domino can usually snap DDTs off in a flash. But of course the impact against his midsection has him staggering back, then falling to the floor as he's swept down. However, Domino is just as quick to spring right back up to his full height again in a kip-up.

Once on his boots, the dark-haired model whirls over to launch a spinning hook kick at Aranha's head off the left foot, followed immediately by attempting to hoist him up onto his shoulders. And if caught, Domino simply flings him down hard against the ground in a powerbomb.

COMBATSYS: Drake successfully hits Aranha with Combo Throw.

Aranha is caught completely unprepared by the first kick. He's caught right in the back of the head forcing him to stumble forward right into the waiting hands of the wrestler who in turn lifts him up and powerbombs him down to the ground driving his head into the ground.

When Aranha pulls himself back to his feet he leaves a crater in the ground the shape of his head. He's fairly shaken up. And so he just whips off a roundhouse as he tries to regain his bearings.

COMBATSYS: Drake fails to counter Change-Up Kick from Aranha with Blackout.

Quite the roundhouse it seems to be, at that, as it hammers heavily against Domino's head and staggers him aside. And he seems to have been quite unprepared for that, as well. He thought perhaps to try and pretzel the other male, but.. that didn't quite work out, obviously. And now it's left -him- a bit dazed, hand lifted to his head as he attempts to gain his own bearings. Probably looks a little comical, between the two of them.

If you were to ask Aranha how he was expecting Drake to handle that kick he would've gave dozen of replies, none of which was getting knocked silly. As a result, Aranha's mouth drops open slightly but he closes it back up again.

The capoeirista doesn't want to give Domino an opportunity to recover and so he sends another roundhouse this time it's glowing blue and using the momentum of the first kick he sends a spinning jump kick glowing blue and finishing with a back flip kick glowing blue as he drives the foot downward on the model's head.

COMBATSYS: Drake blocks Aranha's Aggressive Dance EX.

Domino regains enough of his mental faculties to realize when he's being assailed, fortunately. The roundhouse kick meets with his forearm, and the upwards kick is deflected with both arms. It'll leave some bruises, but nothing like what it could have done, he's sure. Model heads can be sensitive things, you know.

Domino takes the opportunity while Aranha is hopefully recovering from his attack to close in on him quickly, attempting to get in behind his back. His hands grip for Aranha's throat from behind, and he hops into the air, aiming to drag Aranha down with him - but with Domino's knees planted against his back for a shattering impact. A spinebuster, it is.

Aranha had been looking under his arm the entire time he was landing from the kick so he'd have some idea of what the wrestler was planning. Unfortunately for the Dancing Spider, there's a big difference between knowing and being able to do something about it.

As Domino grabs the back of his neck the entirety of Aranha's body glows blue but the rest of his execution falls short the moment his back gets impacted by Drake's knee, all that gathered up power is gone in a flash and the capoeirista is left writhing on the ground.

Not really one to light up on an opponent when they seem to be taking it hard, Domino twists over to get back to his feet. And once up again, he's immediately hopping into the air and turning aside, elbow propped out and aimed for Aranha's torso. The classic elbow drop, only some height lost in favor of simply pounding him as quickly and efficiently as possible.

COMBATSYS: Aranha blocks Drake's Quick Punch.

Aranha knows quite well that he can't get out of the way of the elbow drop and so he raises his hands to catch the impact of the elbow and dampening the impact before rolling away from Domino. He doesn't want to spend any more tangled up than he had to.

As Aranha rises to his feet he decides to temporarily pull back. Maybe he'll need to approach this fight from a different angle.

COMBATSYS: Aranha focuses on his next action.

Domino immediately rolls off the arms and gets right back to his feet, having no intention to really -give- Aranha enough time to reconsider his tactics. As he backs off, the model closes in warily, but swiftly. In an instant, he's weaved in at Aranha's right side, his right leg setting behind Aranha's legs and his right arm lifting to set just along his throat and under his jaw. And promptly, the wrestler martial artist torques over, attempting to crash Aranha down against the ground squarely.

COMBATSYS: Aranha blocks Drake's Fast Throw.

Aranha still fights a careful fight as Drake weaves to the side of him as the leg sets behind both of his legs and arm goes across his neck, Aranha notes a similarity between this attack and the Vingativa and so he adopts a similar response to it. Aranha plants a hand down on the ground stopping the crash before it can cause him real harm and then spins out of the hold.

After escaping the impact Aranha thrusts out a kick to Domino's stomach before throwing himself up and over and getting himself back to his feet.

COMBATSYS: Aranha successfully hits Drake with Change-Up Kick.

The odd switcheroo, as it were, catches Drake a bit off guard. He's nailed thusly, now feeling quite sore in the abdomen, and staggers back from Aranha with grit teeth. Domino's amethyst eyes narrow on Aranha, and he suddenly lurches forward, aiming to grab his plucky opponent by the shoulders firmly. If caught, he gives an equally sudden, jerky yank in towards him, attempting to lock his neck between his legs. The arms then go to loop around Aranha's midsection to hoist him into the air in piledriver position...

COMBATSYS: Drake successfully hits Aranha with Total Eclipse.

With Aranha captured in his iron grip, Domino suddenly turns to face the cheering audience. The cemented grip suddenly CRUSHED inwards against Aranha's torso, the pressure and force along his forearms rapidly. This he suspends for a couple seconds, permitting the blood to rush to Aranha's head while he caves his torso inwards. An inverted, brutal bearhug.

But that's only one phase of the Total Eclipse.

Once his arms have crushed to a certain degree, Domino locks that tightness on and takes to the air in a series of forward flips. As he ascends, the speed of the flipping motion grows faster and faster. At the pinnacle of the jump, the two bodies have blurred together in a swirling sphere of motion, which grows more rapid on the descent. The pent-up momentum, along with their combined bodyweights, comes SHATTERING against Aranha's skull at the pinnacle of the piledriver, sending chunks of asphalt and cement scattering about. A new crater has been made.

And immediately following, Domino hops back from him, so as not to actually -kill- him or anything. He could use oxygen at this point, he's sure.

Wait... They actually thought it was a good idea to hold this fight at the White House? At this point, the dignitaries, bean counters, they're all regretting allowing the fight to take place. After seeing a crater formed in the lawn one couldn't blame them.

Aranha managed to ditch the shades. It's the least he can do since he couldn't avoid Drake's grip and saw enough highlight film to know what was happening next. He went up and over, going in a crazy spin before feeling one of the most painful impacts of his life.

The Dancing Spider is no longer dancing. He can barely stand up but digging deep inside, he's able move to Drake for one last assault.

Aranha performs an outside crescent kick from his front leg which then drops to his rear leg. He shifts back and swings his leg around in a rear leg outside crescent kick which is quickly followed up by a trio of kicks where he touches the ground as he swings the heel of his rear leg towards his opponent's head. On the third of those particular kicks he cuts short and turns his foot as he drops it down on the ground before swinging his other foot at the head in a roundhouse kick-like motion though it's also done with both hands on the ground. He then shifts his weight over to the side swinging the unplanted foot up and over which though it doesn't hit, it generates momentum for the other foot to come back across. He performs a handstand and performs a series of rapid spinning handstand kicks. All kicks in this sequence are engulfed in blue chi.

COMBATSYS: Aranha can no longer fight.

Domino starts to ease up a little on his stance, expecting Aranha to really be down for the account. Not a great deal of people will get up after getting the Total Eclipse experience. And people say professional wrestling is fake. Hah!

But much to Domino's surprise, etched clearly on his fetching features, Aranha has risen again. Seems he sold his opponent a little short, after all. He's quickly set back into his strange wrestling/martial arts hybrid stance, muscles tensed like tightly compressed coils. His head inclines, obsidian bangs drifting out before his face a centimeter or two.

Then all Hell breaks loose.

The first chi-engulfed kick is cleanly evaded, Domino twisting into a sharp backbend to let it whiz by. His back realigns just in time to spy the trio of kicks, which he tilts swiftly aside alternatingly to dodge. On the last one, Domino pauses, narrowed amethysts gauging the next move. The moment the foot flies out in a crescent, Domino twists low and weaves around, smoothly evading that one as well. The final kicks see Domino backbending to an extreme degree, almost with the wrestler laying flat on his back, were it not for his boots being planted on the ground and his hands placed to either side of his head backwards.

Domino disengages from this position by curling up and backrolling, ending on his feet once more. The deep amethyst eyes remain affixed on Aranha, stance still held, muscles tightly coiled and springloaded again. His right hand suddenly pulls back, white mist-like vapor coalescing around the fist. The vapor begins to grow more and more dense as he prepares it, clearly ready to continue the fight... albeit looking rather bruised at this point, and fairly sweaty from the battle.

When the kicks miss he drops to his feet barely maintaining his shaky ginga. He tries to stay up but his body just gives out on him. Soon Aranha just finds himself staring at the sky.

Domino remains steady, even still. But after a few seconds of inaction, the speakers come alive again.

"KNOCKOUT! Winner by K.O. - DOMINO~!"

The audience erupts into cheers and applause, and the secret service agents grant him a golf-clap. Isn't that special? Domino soaks it all in, the Light Side taking over again as he moves towards the center of the fighting zone, gloved fists lifted in victory. He then takes up his trademarked victory pose, setting his left hand to his hip and whisking his right hand through his sweat-slickened bangs, offering the closest camera a roguish smile.

But after only a few seconds of this preening, Domino offers a hand down to Aranha to help him up. And if taken, he beams a bright smile and gestures to his opponent, garnering cheers for the Dancing Spider. He then tilts his head over to look at him. "You're pretty tough, y'know. Not bad at all."

COMBATSYS: Drake has ended the fight here.
