Description: Aranha and Carlos square off at a Basketball court in Metro City. Carlos takes command of the fight early on forcing the Dancing Spider to step up. While Aranha doesn't win, he still manages to get some respect out of Sword Savant.
Crime is an epidemic that can only be dealt with by an unyielding pursuit of JUSTICE. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance! And in Metro City, Carlos is one such paragon of the way of the RIGHTEOUS! One way in particular way that Carlos and the Haggar's Crusaders for Justice to fight the spreading evil is to participate in fights like this.
Calros stands tall in the basketball court, wearing a fresh set of leathers and holding his trademark Katana high in the air, the Brazilian Blademaster goes into his lightfooted fighting stance ready for anything.
"Hey, hey. You wanna fight, you gotta fight for right!" Carlos makes a show for it all to the assorted audience members who are likely of dubious moral compass.

And then there's the man who's known as Aranha. Once upon a time, he fell into that particular catagory of 'dubious moral compass.' Whether or not that's still true is questionable. As he makes his way on to the basketball court, he ditches his denim jacket, now clad in just his black t-shirt, jeans, and Timberlands.
As he looks around, he's not exactly at his most comfortable but that all changes when he slips his shades on. With a few adjustments he pops the ear buds of his Oakley Thumps in and then starts up his own music before going into a tumbling pass that puts him right next to the Brazilian. After that, he lets his body flowing into a swaying dance, the ginga, that Carlos would probably recognize from his homeland. "Let's get this party started."

Carlos smiles at Aranha and gives him the thumbs up, he's certainly glad to see that this guy knows how to party. Nothing Carlos enjoys more than a battle devoted to JUSTICE that takes place fair and square, to pit warriors against each other to see who is the mightier warrior.
"Alright, compadre, you know how to party!" Carlos says in a a friendly, but definitely competitive tone. He ain't no Yoshimitsu to mess around punching and kicking while holding a sword! He starts proceedings off with a carefully controlled thrust with the point of his blade.

One of the first things Aranha noticed about Carlos was the katana that he was carrying. Which means he knew going into the fight that even with his long legs he was at a disadvantage when it came to range so the first thing he needed to achieve was close the distance.
As Carlos thrusted outwards, the Dancing Spider, raises his arm as he drop his body low and forward causing the attack to glance off of his forearm. This allowed the Capoeirista to move into range for his own attack and then scissor his legs about the Brazilian's to drop him down on his back.
Even as he makes his attack Aranha has to smile. It had been way too long since he had a fight he could just relax and have fun with. Also the fact that Carlos was using live steel also made the mental game so much more important.

A swordsman battling an unarmed opponent possesses several advantages, but also disadvantages. Where he has range he lacks in speed and some of the versatility enjoyed by their unarmed brothers. As Aranha comes closer towards him to try to nullify that advantage, Carlos knows that he has to maintain that distance.
Carlos reacts just as Aranha goes for his scissor kick focusing his will into his sword and stabbing even as he falls, and in a carefully timed attack, Carlos pulls back as he hits the ground and rolls to away to his feet.
"Gotta try harder than that, guy!"
There's a moment as the legs close around Carlos' legs that he realizes that he's in trouble. It's at that moment that the katana, will and all, pierces him causing the capoeirista to grimace a bit and adding to his already vast collection of scars.
He slowly rises to his feet and favors his side for a moment before smiling, trying to at least temporarily ignore the pain. "I intend on doing so."
He knows that he'll continue to have trouble if he keeps going at him indirectly or not so he decides to play the range game as well but in a different way. He spins around as if he was about to go for a kick at air but with a backhanded release he flings a blue chi spider web right for the swordmaster's chest.

Carlos raises his arms to block the attack as the web shot comes flying towards him, he is too late the strike hitting him square in the chest and sending him backward. El Samurai groans, fighting off the pain as he prepares for his next assault! He rushes forward now aiming to slice diagonally across Aranha's chest.
"That's the spirit!"

As the katana slashes downwards Aranha tilts over bringing his entire body under the slash before continuing the entire motion into a cartwheel as he watches him. After the cartwheel is complete he sees a moment to pounce while the other fighter is still recoiling from the sword stroke.
While keeping his hands on the ground he takes a small step inside with one foot before whipping the other foot hard at the other fighter's head.

Glancing Blow

Carlos's eyes widen as Aranha dances under his strike, the Swordtastic Savant knew that such was the skill of the Legendary Copoeira style, but seeing was believing. As his foe completes his cartwheel and brings his foot down, Carlos' pulls back his sword from the recoil of his strike and immediately moves to the left in an attempt to avoid the blow.
Carlos is struck, but his quick reflexes allow him to take the blow on the shoulder rather than directly in the face. Wincing, Carlos immediately goes back on the offensive charging his will into his blade he slices across Aranha's chest wide and hard.

Aranha tries to spin away from the slice hoping to catch the attack off of his arm and using the momentum to set up a plan of his own. Unfortunately he doesn't time the spin properly and he catches the slash hard across his back sending him face first to the ground with a grunt coming from his lips.
He takes a few moments to pull himself back to his feet and then he does something which could be considered crazy he pulls himself into a one-handed handstand and actually waits for the other fighter to come in. Is it a trap, a show of power? With Capoeira, it can be either or both.

Carlos is a smarter fighter than that, and he's more than happy just to take things in stride in his own time. So while Aranha is working on his gymnastics, Carlos decides to take a breather and recover his strength.

Aranha wasn't able to draw him in using that method. Even with the trap not spinging it still served other purposes. It got the crowd into it and allowed for Aranha to spend a moment without Carlos pressuring him.
Aranha carefully moves into range again this time he has another tactic in mind. He turns his hip as if to throw a roundhouse before spinning around to launch a blue glowing spinning heel from the opposite direction hoping to crack the Brazilian hard in the chin.

Carlos holds his ground as Aranha comes for him, he needed to take that breather from combat. Swinging a sword around in an effort to keep up with a guy like Aranha can tire a guy out. As Aranha attacks, Carlos prepares his defences superbly whipping his arm up to the left he lets his body take the first hit and when the chi imbued spinning heel comes around from the other side he uses his sword to deflect the blow.
"Alright! That's the way," Carlos cheers him on quickly responding with another jab of his sword to regain some distance on his foe.

Aranha takes the jab full on but he doesn't move. Instead, he stays right in the swordsman's face. And that's when it begins. A torrent of blue chi washed kicks starting with an outside crescent kick from his front leg which then drops to his rear leg. He shifts back and swings his leg around in a rear leg outside crescent kick which is quickly followed up by a trio of kicks where he touches the ground as he swings the heel of his rear leg towards his opponent's head. On the third of those particular kicks he cuts short and turns his foot as he drops it down on the ground before swinging his other foot at the head in a roundhouse kick-like motion though it's also done with both hands on the ground. Aranha then shifts his weight over to the side swinging the unplanted foot up and over which though it doesn't hit, it generates momentum for the other foot to come back across. He performs a handstand and performs a series of rapid spinning handstand kicks though it's done with a speed that hasn't been seen in any of his matches to date.

Carlos is a man of Action. He is a man of Honour. And he is a man of Decisiveness!
As Aranha comes at him with his techniques, Carlos will settle for nothing less than countering it with his own techniques! As Aranha kicks Carlos attempts to match each kick with a swordstrike in an attempt to completely shut down the Royal Flush.
Carlos, is unsuccessful however, and gets booted around! Ouch.
A lot of those things could be applied to Aranha. Man of action... Check. Man of decisiveness... Check. Man of honor? Ok... Aranha's honor is situation based. Oh well... Two out of three ain't bad.
Aranha took a moment to survey the damage done to the other fighter. While he knows he did a sizable amount of damage to the sword master he knows that his chances of winning are low at this point, not that he minds. He's learning much about both his opponent and himself.
With a cheerful smile he continues attacking this time reaching for Carlos' legs and pulling them from under him while assisting his fall with his head pushing at the abdomen. "Let's see what else you have to show me."

Carlos seems to fall as Aranha takes his leg and shoves him backward, almost falling victim to the technique but not quite, as he falls he pulls all his weight backward breaking the hold and rolling backwards onto his feet comfortably. Carlos whews and grins at Aranha.
"Hm, hm something else, eh? Oh I know!" Carlos sheaths his sword and picks up a nearby trash can and takes a large step forward hammering the can down like a mallet. "STREET RULES!"

As the trash can comes down upon the Dancing Spider dives low and off to the side and the trash can ends up finding nothing but air. That's only for a moment because Aranha tilts his body sideways towards Carlos and then his heel whips upwards in way remeniscent of a Scorpion's Tail striking. The tail strikes at the trash can slamming the trash can right back at the Brazilian fighter.

Carlos just laughs as the trash can comes flying back at him, man stuff like that just makes a fight fun! But he really has no intention of being hoist by his own petard! Carlos swings his sword around and chops the can out of the air flinging it to the side.
He immediately swings his sword around and goes for a mighty, finishing blow.
"Fun and games are over, time to finish this!"

Aranha twists into a back bridge as the can is sliced out of the air and then when the sword comes around Aranha throws himself up and over with absolutely no regard for his own safety as he slams a glowing foot right into the Brazilian's chest. Unfortunately Aranha ends up taking a powerful slice in the process and falls to the ground.
While entirely conscious, he's still not getting up. Carlos has indeed finished it but not without taking some damage in the process.

Carlos is sent flying backward as Aranha boots him in the chest just as he executes the decisive blow! He felt a rib crack with that one for sure, but he knows that he can get up. He's won this fight but man what a fight!
"Hey man that was a great fight, get better and stronger and lets go at it again one day!" Carlos says encouragingly before wandering off back to his motorbike. He stumbles a little, man that smarts!
