Guy - Guy x Miu: Schoolyard

Description: When Guy heads to Seijyun High to see Miu, things take a turn when one of his Genin is disrespectful and must be removed! Did the Bushinryuu Master go too far in his pursuit of a new student? Or was Miu's power of the feather able to defeat Bushinryuu Ninjitsu? Tune in to find out!

The prestegious Seijyun Girls' Academy-- back to what seems to be normal once the holidays have run their course, with the majority of the girls on campus back to discussing their trust funds or the boy they saw, the conditions of other schools, or even flaunting their newest coats for the weather.

And in that crowd, somewhere, is Miu Kurosaki.

The school's personal urban legend, the silent purple-eye girl walking across campus now that classes have halted for the lunch hour. In that beaten wool coat-- now with a couple more patches after the battle she had with Ayame-- and a rather nice messenger bag hanging at her hip, she hangs at the fringe edges of a crowd of girls chattering away.

She kind of likes it there.

The girls pay no attention to her, although she seems to be paying attention to them. Purple eyes, half-lidded, watching how they discuss and laugh, unconsciously or actively attempting to ignore the smallest student and the off-putting, unusual aura she almost seems to generate at all times.

This is also more or less why she likes to eat alone.

Now, normally, when a guy is hanging around a girls' school, one is given to paranoid, but likely correct, suspicions of pedophelia and other unhealthy ideals. Of course, since Guy's life is a stage, more or less, one would hope that this isn't the case for him. It isn't.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from looking... or from the three Genin with him to do the same. No, they're actually looking for someone, a girl who has made her mark on the world already with her power-in-a-small-frame legacy. The Genin are looking for her, but the man himself alternates between girl-watching and closed-eye reflection.

Finally, one of them spots her, and the three try to decide how best to approach the girl. Guy answers all of them, however, the Bushinryuu ninja Master pushing off from the wall that was being leaned on. His gait is calm and slow, he is in no hurry, and as soon as someone familiar with fighting on the world stage sees him, the rumors begin to spread through the crowds. Was this a planned visit? What is he doing here? Wow, he's cute, is he single? Shut up, he's /old/!

When the conversations of the other students shift from the idle chatter to a singular topic, the man in blue, Miu's gaze lifts. And lifts-- her height accursed-- until she sees him. He's familiar... but where has she seen him before? Truth be told, the crow girl is one of the few people in the school that both doesn't own a television in their room, nor cares to watch it in the dormitories' lounge. Perhaps rare or unusual, considering that she herself engages in televised activities...

But the way he's dressed, the way he's walking, it forms a lump in the small girl's throat, a knot of uncertainty that drives her to stop while the crowd may or may not continue walking, looking at him dead on with vacant, emotionless eyes.

Miu's grip on the strap hanging at her side shifts, bringing her bag around to settle against her backside-- no point in getting it damaged if this goes where she -thinks- it's going. In all her time since springing up into the 'professional' scene, Miu's come to recognize the air of another fighter... as much as she wants to deal with them or not.

The tension in her frame seems to speak it all: The air of, 'What do you want?' 'Are you looking for me?'

It doesn't start off well. Guy maintains a respectable seven foot distance away from the girl. He's got a strong sense of honor, and what he's here for isn't easily negotiated. Plus, he's Japanese, which means all things are treated with a certain amount of respect. The two Genin flanking him, one to the left and one to the right, are also Japanese, evident by their eyes. All three of the Genin are in standard Ninja dress.

That third one, however, is not Japanese, and he steps past all of them to speak. "Master wants to speak with you, /brat/." The girls in the area gasp at the man's brutishness, but even more so at Guy's reaction: a grunt, two words in Japanese that cause the other Genin to grab their counterpart. One kicks him in the stomach, the other in the face, and then the pair drags the now-pained third man away from the area.

Guy sighs, shaking his head, and goes down onto one knee, and then the other, sitting in the traditional Japanese kneeling style. Resting back on his heels, he waits a moment, and then places a palm on the ground, bowing at Miu. "Forgive that man, he was not worthy of this meeting. I do not train my ninja to act that way."

The third genin to approach is met with the slightest shift of feet, her right foot pressing into the concrete path with a stern stare-- as if she were trying to anticipate his next move, his rudeness aside. The brutality earns a harsher expression, dragged off as such.... How is it that these four managed to get past the security gate in the first place?

His traditional mannerisms-- his posture, the expression, and the formality of his kneeling position brings Miu to confirm her suspicions: Whatever this man wants, he's here to talk to her.

It makes her look a little confused.

"I have class," she says, her small voice sounding resolute and firm. "What is it you want? If it's a fight, then can you move beyond the formalities and just get on with it?"

The urging is somewhat sincere-- she has things to do, and part of her truly doesn't need to have this happen with a crowd of the girls that typically alienate her watching on...

Guy rises to his kneeled position. "Well, a fight was not exactly what I had in mind. I was going to come and discuss your future plans, and offer you a place in my dojo. Since my erstwhile student has more or less reacted in such a way that this may no longer be possible... if you wish to fight, I will accept, and try to demonstrate a bit of what I can teach you in my school."

Guy folds his arms as the general crowd area starts to back up, giving room enough for said fight, should it occur. "As to your class... well... apparently, I'm fairly well known here. I spoke to someone in charge, who said it would be perfectly fine to come speak to you. I'm not sure how they feel on fighting, but from what I understand about most child fighters... I apologize, /young/ fighters, they tend not to care. The choice, I leave to you: a discussion, or a duel."

The emotion betrayed by her expressions tells more than she would like-- the minor redness of embarassment, the way her fingers clench up some. Reaching into the left pocket of her warm winter coat, Miu pulls out a pair of somewhat personalized archery thimbles; gloves missing the ring and pinky finger coverage. Sure, they're only really used by the kyuudo club students, but somehow she's gotten her hands on a pair... albeit in a black-and-maroon arrangement, to match the rest of her own student uniform.

Pulling them on and tightening the wrist strap, the small girl continues to speak. "I'm not interested in ninjutsu," she says, next unshouldering her bag. Giving it only a light toss back, her eyes close. Her hands curl up to her shoulders before snapping down to her sides, black and white feathers bursting away from her hands. That odd aura around her only intensifies, her eyes opening with a new light to them-- but still holding a calm, controlled face.

"But it would be rude if you were to go home empty handed."

COMBATSYS: Miu has started a fight here.

Guy exhales. Well, /this/ didn't work as planned. Silently, he curses that third Genin as he rises from his kneel. "Sarcastic or not, I appreciate the sentiment of your statement." Stepping into his familiar fighting pose, he only utters one final word. "Commence."

The Genin return to the fringe of the area. Absolute fringe. Miu would likely notice them perched on a building or in a tree, but if her fighter's instinct is going full-tilt, she senses two things: she's absolutely a match for them, and they've got no interference intent.

Guy seems intent on letting Miu make the first move, and as the crowd expands further to permit as big a fight as Miu needs, the cheers start going up for her. After all, Guy's the interloper here!

COMBATSYS: Guy has joined the fight here.

There's another moment where the solid, icy resolve of Miu Kurosaki is shaken-- girls of Seijyun ... actually ... cheering for her? Wondering if perhaps, for a moment, she's awoken in a strange evil parallel universe, she turns her attentions back to Guy and steadies herself, narrows her profile. Thin, light... and agile.

Whipping around in a hard circle on the toe of her black-and-blue shoe, a black feather is cast out from her hand like a throwing knife-- straight and true, intent on spiking Guy in the stomach. But as if that wasn't enough, the small fighter twists a fraction of a second after the first toss, twisting to face him again-- and with a lash of her arm, release a -second- feather on a slightly different course! And if they impact, they won't draw blood... but release a jolting force, one that feels tingly before a sudden and harsh numbness...

COMBATSYS: Guy endures Miu's Kakure Amagakeri.

Feathers? You've got to be kidding me. This is the thought that goes through Guy's head, even though he knows better. So, he merely starts to walk towards Miu, figuring that the feathers are either a distraction, or a minor inconvenience... so when he gets hit for stupidly jolting damage, it sends him back a bit. He manages to keep his footing, however, and he chalks this up to a recent fight with a certain big boxer. Now those were hard hits!

Still, if the girl wants to start off with chi, he can do that. As if gathering a kunai from his belt, his right hand goes to his side. Chi builds up in it, raw and pure, and it is hurled at the girl like said ninja knife. The ball is white, but more curiously, the trail behind it is a myriad rainbow. It screams through the air at Miu...

Is it chi? But what kind of chi has such an "off" feel to it? What kind delivers that sort of impact, that sort of aftereffects? Miu grunts a little as the force is dispersed in a way she wasn't hoping for, shifting her footing and readying to open up with her next volley. Guy has other plans for her, apparently-- and her arms come up in a guarding manner-- but the power is too strong. "Agh!"

Sprawling backward, she lands hard on her back, the old wool coat catching traction and pulling Miu into a hard, awkwardly-positioned roll on the concrete path. Pushing up into a crabwalk pose, her eyebrows furrow. No, she's had worse than this...

Shifting her weight and standing back up, Miu runs at Guy like a small black-and-maroon-clad blur, shifting her footing left and right-- and then hopping in the air the slightest of amounts, her right arm pulled up high across her chest. A broad white feather bleeds out of her knuckles... and at point-blank range, sweeps down at Guy like she were using a blade. -This- can cut, -this- will transmit that odd force yet more. But only if it hits...!

This time, the ninja is ready. A demonstration of speed is something Guy is not at all unused to, himself being quite a quick fellow. The feather only causes him to slow slightly, but the block that goes up is still effectual, though the cut-and-jolt does sting. Composing himself, Guy analyzes and prepares his next move.

It's simple, really. He's not about to go all-out on this girl, not yet, and he wants to see how she works, how she moves, and how she fights. So, the kick thrown out at close range is a quick one, and there isn't a ton of stuff on it, but it'll give him a good idea of how she goes, so to speak.

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Miu with Light Kick.

A swift, close-range kick-- and normally Miu is one who fares well at this range, ducking and weaving away from punches and kicks, even the most obscene and absurd of energy attacks. Ducking the wrong way, she ends up catching the brunt of Guy's kick across her gut, the stiff hammerblow enough to pick her up a bit and push her back to a slight range.

Miu slides on the heels of her shoes, steadying herself and holding her stomach with one gingerly-pressed hand. What was with her...? Normally, she's more focused, she isn't so sloppy and careless. Was there something going on...? No, that's not right. Shaking her head hard, Miu's ponytail whips around a little before she straightens back up, hands at her side.

No.

Running ahead at Guy, the smallest Kurosaki cuts into a deft, skillful flip into the air, trying to snag Guy by the collar of his outfit and use it to hinge around, to land on his back. If she can get that far, her other fist draws back, another white feather bleeding out from the knuckles-- and punching -hard- at the back of his head. The burst of force is powerful enough that it'll likewise launch Miu skyward if she hits it, much higher and farther than an average jump would allow...

Guy senses that there's a great deal of power coming, and shifts his stance. The act of evasion doesn't work, however, and his collar is grabbed. His muscles react purely on instinct and muscle memory as the girl hinges around his body, and his arms come up just in time to protect his head from a seriously destructive concussion of force and power. Turning, he sees Miu flying away, and a thought pops into his head.

In a demonstrative burst of speed of his own, Guy charges at the falling girl. He actively resists the first two ideas that came in, opting for the third: he reaches out to grab the girl as she lands. Should he be this lucky and pluck her from the landing, he'll toss her to one side in quick motion. There's still not a great deal of his native power behind it, but it's enough to get the girl down briefly, and to get her out of the way of the crowd, who still cheers for her!

Miu              1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0              Guy

Sailing through the air, her eyes narrow. How does he keep...?

The flight reaches it's apex, and the first thing Miu's small body does is twist-- flip, bending back in the air with her legs folded and knees together, arms thrown out to keep her balanced. Guy's on the warpath, there to grab at her leg as she drops through the air...

And Miu's there to grab at him, too.

Grunting as she grabs his wrist while his hand grabs at her ankle, she uses the force applied from Guy's throw to suddenly, violently arrest her momentum, spinning hard in the air and landing on her back, rolling back to a kneel faster and easier than before.

Breathing a sigh of relief, the small girl turns back in and charges, trying to get her hands on Guy, this time... to thrust both of her palms out at his stomach for an odd twin open-palm strike, then grab at his arm and try to Judo-style throw him at the ground. She's stronger than she looks, and curiously, although there's absolutely -no- focus, no build of energy... that initial strike has feathers trailing from it, that energy sizzling in her very -touch-...

He can see the feathers, and starts to wonder if that really is just a distraction. Maybe it's her motif. Who knows? What he does know, however, is that he's not getting that throw off, and it's time to get out of dodge. A series of sidesteps, and a backflip for good measure, and Guy is once again at a respectable distance from the girl.

He knows what he wants to do, but that original chi shot was a bit quick for his pacing. So, it's another kick, this time with a bit more on it, delivered to Miu in the standard a la carte fashion: straight up, aimed for the gut.

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Miu with Medium Kick.

Her palm strike missing by a wide margin, Miu's weight takes a moment to shift, settle-- rebalance, looking to Guy to see what the Bunshinryu's fighter next move is. And when he comes back in, she readies herself to lean to the side-- unfortunately, it's the side that puts her directly into the path of Guy's foot. The small girl again doubles over, gasping for air as she drops to her knees and breathes hard.

And then her expression changes. "Khh--"

The energy in her seems almost like it doubles up on itself, growing and expanding to a point it logically -shouldn't-, making that odd aura about her grow into one that seems almost tangible. The ambient energy in the air takes a physical manifestation too-- in the form of black feathers that grow and seep out of her left arm, through the sleeve of her coat and her glove-- engulfing it fully and with excess spilling out from her shoulderblade.

Jerking back her arm, Miu -lunges- at Guy, her right arm again lifting high across her chest. The white feather bleeds out of her fist one more time, her arm whipping down to deliver another, but this time much more powerful, cutting strike. However, if it lands... this is only the beginning...

Miu              0/-------/-----==|=======\===----\1              Guy

The first slash leads into a speedy twist, leading to a second, third, fourth-- becoming a veritable blur of cutting and slashes, each transmitting a stunning amount of that energy. Somewhere around the seventh lash, her feet finally touch ground, her left arm drawn back-- and then her fist thrusting forward. The feathers at her arm burst forward in a massive, expansive cone of darkness, biting and tearing into Guy like a powered energy drill of some sort. The pressure is enormous, the jolt to the senses almost overwhelming-- and with one final burst, it has enough force to skip Guy back across the campus grounds like a stone. Her left hand still clenched into a tight fist, the feathers burst out into a massive circle, scattering on the winter wind across the Seijyun campus... lingering, also, longer than they probably should. Like getting a zap of static electricity, even just touching one provides a small jolt of the force Miu wields, even if she no longer -consciously- controls it. The overwhelming force in the small girl likewise lowers back to the previous amount, though her hard breathing has yet to subside. There's a slight quiver to her fist, as well-- like putting that much power out through one spot has a slight aftereffect.

At least this time, it didn't hurt her as much as it usually does...

Clarity comes to Guy in ripples of excrutiating pain. As he lands, he realizes his own foolishness. There's no reason to hold back when the opponent is going full tilt. He's seen nothing but those feathers this entire fight, and people don't just spontaneously sprout feathers in their attacks.

So, as he rises, it's with a new kind of intent. The crowd, who moments ago was cheering like humanity had just cured Cancer for Miu, is stunned into silence. Wincing, and brushing himself off, Guy resigns himself to that calm center that every fighter has, where all of their moves start, and it comes to him: Eight Double Fist.

That is precisely what Miu gets, if she doesn't dodge this attack. Guy charges in and crouches. He's definately in Miu's personal space at this point, and the uppercut he throws looks like it came straight from her shoes. If Miu's not quick, there's going to be a new concussion of sound and chi, but not in feather form...

COMBATSYS: Guy successfully hits Miu with Bushin Hassou Ken.

Miu              1/------=/=======|=------\-------\0              Guy

Miu is launched into the air, and Guy follows. What comes afterwards is a flurry of flesh and chi. Each strike is powered by raw, pure Chi, and Guy's certainly in shape enough for the hits to be damaging enough. A right cross, a mid-air backflip kick, a fist right to Miu's face, and the ender: an in-air roundhouse kick, designed to send her to the ground at a high speed.

Guy lands a short distance away, his back to Miu, and the crowd is absolutely /silent/.

Be it the force she just shunted through one point, the daze of releasing it all, or just plain dumb luck and her own sloppiness, but Guy's sudden recovery and assault is taken with nothing more than surprise. His charge, the uppercut-- and she's vaulted straight into the air, jaw snapping to the sky with enough force to have a lash of blood escape her mouth. Each strike is harsh enough to whip her small frame around like a rag doll, before the final kick that spikes her into the ground with a hard, loud gasp of pain.

But while Guy stands there with his back turn, Miu seems to be back on her feet. Like she were on strings like some sort of marionette, guided by unseen hands, Seijyun's crow girl is back on her feet and charging at Guy with equal measure. Her left hand is again drawn back, again the odd aura raised to a more potent level-- and again, her fist thrusts forward, releasing another massive cone of black feathers, attempting to drill into the ninja man and blast him back one more time. A hard gust of wind fills his ears with it, a hard roaring of air that makes it hard to hear anything else for a few moments...

COMBATSYS: Miu can no longer fight.

Showy though it may be, the intent of the finishing stance of the Eight Double Fist is to hone one's instinct, to force one to react not by sight, but by feeling, and it is nothing less than this that causes Guy to simply leap backward, effortlessly, over the impending disastrous damaging attack. Had he been hit by that, who knows if he'd have been able to walk out of the fight?

However, the attack does spark a new fear: Miu's barrelling right for a group of students, and so once he lands, he immediately breaks out into a sprint. His left arm reaches out, and in an oddly mirrored motion from earlier in the fight, he grasps at Miu's collar, helping the girl to stop the attack just short of dangerously affecting her own standing in the school. As Miu collapses to the ground, Guy beckons in his Genin, who deliver to him a parcel: it's a small box. Inside it are two things.

The first is a neatly-wrapped bit of yen, with a note 'Towards any incurred injury costs'. The second is a small kunai with another note wrapped around it. This note contains the location of Guy's dojo and the words "If you change your mind, or desire a rematch on private grounds." The Bushinryuu Ninja sets this box down in front of the girl, and the Genin take off, disappearing. Guy, respectfully, bows to his opponent, and walks past the few girls in front of her, vanishing into the crowd, and then from the area.
