Neo League 551 - #560: Sergio vs Ichiro

Description: The young buck tries to teach the old dog some new tricks, but every dog has his day. (Winner: Sergio)

A lot of the time fights take place in expensive arenas, boarded up buildings, and exotic locations. Not tonight. Tonight there's a fight scheduled right in the heart of Southtown's residential district. A definite throwback to the idea of 'Street Fighting', a large area of sidewalk has been cordoned off alongside a row of apartments. People are gathered around on the streets and hanging out of windows waiting to see who's going to show up for the fight. Camera crews have already set things up in several locations, making sure that every possible angle is covered, and everything seems to be set to go as soon as the fighters themselves are ready.

It's about now that Sergio shows up, not exactly late but not quite on time either. He's definitely skirting the line, but that's no big deal, right? The lightly falling snow makes this a bit of a pain in the neck for him- he simply refuses to wear warmer clothing, used to the comfortable weather of the Mediterranean. He's starting to acclimate, but it's still a bit of a pain in the ass, and aside from that the sidewalk is starting to get slippery. At least that can be used to his advantage as well as his opponents.

Fresh off a remarkable victory he's feeling pretty confidant at the moment, so despite the cold weather he has a large grin on his face. He steps over the mock police tape to move into the designated fighting area and looks around, "Alright, so who's the poor shmuck they got to fight me this time?"

A small grin turns up at the corner of Ichiro Oe's mouth as his eyes follow the swarthy man in a silk shirt as he makes towards the area designated by the Neo League for the match to take place. This must be the guy, Ichiro thinks, only another fighter could pull off looking so comfortable while looking so out of place. Taking one last long sip off of his bottle of Ramune, the captain of Taiyo High's lacrosse team sighs with refreshment and wipes his mouth on the sleeve of his white and red leather motorcycle jacket and sets the codd-necked bottle on the gas tank of his matching white and red '86 Honda CBR750F sport bike. Even though the classic motorcycle is over 20 years old it looks brand new, and has probably been recently rebuilt.

Eschewing his normal lacrosse pads and uniform, Ichiro has chosen instead to fight in his riding leathers, as is normally his custom when he is required to drive himself to his fight locations. At least this time he's thought to bring his normal hockey-style lacrosse helmet along instead of using his motorcycle helmet; its field of vision is fine for driving forward, but fighting to one's full potential requires a much greater range of sight, not to mention less bulk.

Gripping the zipper of his reinforced leather jacket with one gloved hand, Ichiro yanks the jacket closed to his neck and takes a moment to adjust his gloves and sleeves before plopping his helmet on his head and slinging the lacrosse stick, more commonly known as a 'crosse' from it's place on his back. "I guess that shmuck is me," he replies with a grin as he approaches the Italian, the straps of his helmet hanging unclasped around his chin. "I am Ichiro Oe, it is good to meet you, sir," he adds politely with a bow. It's always a good idea to respect your elders. "I am ready to begin whenever you are."

Don't blame Sergio for not noticing Ichiro earlier, the lacrosse player was behind him! Once the Taiyo student speaks up he's quick on the uptake though. He turns around to get a look at him and gives him a somewhat friendly grin. "Ah! Nice to meet you, then. Glad to see they're not puttin' me up against more schoolgirls." His last opponent wasn't, but... "Nothin' against 'em, but there sure are a lot, aren't there? You probably wouldn't mind so much though, you're allowed to enjoy fightin' em." A wily grin says that can mean only one thing.

Sir? Huh. People aren't usually polite to him. Forgive him if he doesn't bow- he's a foreigner! "Just Sergio's fine. And it's good to see you're ready to go. It'll be good to get movin' with all this freakin' snow out here." Ok, he's not /completely/ unused to snow, but look what he's got on. A quick look over Ichiro reveals the helmet and the crosse, "Fightin' with a weird stick, huh? This ought to be interesting."

Grinning broadly as Sergio mentions schoolgirls, Ichiro chuckles and rubs the front of his helmet with the hand not holding the lacrosse stick. "Between you and me, Mr. Sergio, I'd enjoy /not/ fighting them a lot more," he jests in kind. Obviously Ichiro has difficulty in addressing an 'adult' by his first name. Sergio /is/ old enough to be his father, after all.

"Yeah, it is pretty cold out right now, but you should try riding a motorcycle in this weather," he adds with a friendly smile. Taking a few steps backward to put a respectable amount of space between the two fighters, Ichiro reaches into the pocket of his red and white leather motorcycle pants and produces a solid rubber ball around the size of a baseball.

"This is a lacrosse stick," Ichiro informs Sergio as he bounces the rubber lacrosse ball on the pavement and begins to dribble it using the tight net on the end of the stick. "It's not a very well known sport in most parts of the world, so it's not surprising that you'd be unfamiliar with it. Part of the reason that I fight is expose fans to how exciting the sport can be." Scooping the ball into the net off of the dribble, Ichiro, twirls the stick a couple of times before grabbing the haft in both hands and assuming a slightly crouched athletic stance. "Ready when you are, Mr. Sergio! Let's give the fans at home a good show! Good luck!"

COMBATSYS: Ichiro has started a fight here.

"Haha! Yea, I gotcha." No wink goes along with it, but he was tempted to add one in there. The funny thing about Sergio is that while he's almost to 40 years old, he acts like someone twenty- if that. If you'd ask a lot of people it's a fault, but if you ask him that's just how he is. In a sport whose main 'rising stars' are all in there teens he's starting rather late in his life, but it's better late than never!

"Motorcycle? That explains the leather. Probably be a blast except when it starts rainin' and snowing all over the place." Just imagine it, Sergio driving down the street on a motorcycle without extra protective clothing, slowly turning into a cube of ice. "Yea, I've heard of lacrosse, but I don't think I've ever seen a stick up close before. Sorta like rugby and baseball thrown together, right?"

At least he's got a good reason for fighting- Sergio's is much less noble, though he does rather enjoy it as well. Noticing that both fighters are now in the ring, the cameramen signal to each other. More of a crowd has shown up as well, and light cheering begins. "Yea, you too! Looks like everything's all set, then. Let's go!" There's no announcer this time, so Sergio takes starting the fight upon his own shoulders. Not one to pussyfoot around he charges Ichiro and rushes him down, getting up close to him and then dropping his fist down low and crouching. What follows is a blatantly stolen uppercut, the man jumping into the air and twisting around at the same time, trying to plow his fist into Ichiro's chin, or whatever part of the mask covers it, as he raises up. As he goes a long stream of water flows out from his fist, trailing behind and leaving a corkscrew in the air. "Water Dragon Punch!"

COMBATSYS: Sergio has joined the fight here.

Ichiro's eyes widen a bit in surprise as he stumbles backward a step or two in the face of the Hydroyuken, causing the watery uppercut to barely miss his face. "Wow, water! That's pretty amazing!" he says earnestly. Water might not seems as dangerous as say, fire or lightning, but Ichiro has done a little bit of reading on chi theory in preparation to start his fighting career, and is sure that even the universal solvent would be capable of being quite painful when manifested from a fighter's own spiritual energy. Ichiro's always been fascinated with how chi can replicate elements, a trick he ran into first hand when he fought that Elle girl. The lacrosse captain hasn't ever been able to manifest anything other than the blazing golden energy that the teen likes to think of as his Burning Spirit given form.

"I haven't seen that yet. Most impressive!" Ichiro compliments as he recovers from his fortuitous stumble into a crouch and springs forward towards Sergio as he touches down from his uppercut. Gritting his teeth as he dashes in at the older man, Ichiro attempts to knock him off balance by hooking the crosse between his ankles and dumping him to the ground, if he's able to catch the man off balance, he'll then follow up by bashing him a few times with the metal stick. Yeah, it's not a very pretty technique by any stretch, but there's no reason to bust out all the tricks at once.

COMBATSYS: Sergio fails to interrupt Savage Combo from Ichiro with Whitewater.

Water might not seem dangerous, but the things that Sergio does with it will definitely make one sit back and re-evaluate the situation. Ichiro seems to have a pretty good idea though, as he gets the hell out of the way for the highly telegraphed maneuver. Sergio's left hanging in the air for a bit before he lands, but luckily the evasion knocked the younger fighter off balance enough that he can't /immediately/ respond with a counterattack. "Thanks. Glad to hear someone thinks so!"

Ichiro comes rushing at him and he decides since the kid thinks his power is so awesome he should show him his most awesome move! He crouches down into a karate power stance, also blatantly stolen, and draws his hand back. He gives a wily grin- and is promptly tripped to the ground with the stick and then beat around like an amateur. Sometimes those risks don't pay off! Picking himself up afterwards with several new bruises the man lets out a good natured laugh, "Haha! Forgot about the stick." Pretty cocky for just getting his ass beaten!

"Most people don't make that mistake twice," Ichiro, always capable of some good-natured cockiness of his own, responds with a friendly grin. This Sergio guy is pretty cool... for an old guy. Flipping the rubber ball out of the net of his crosse, Ichiro lets it bounce once before snatching it up again with the net and spinning the shaft in his hands a few times. "Though I wouldn't suggest forgetting about the ball either!" he warns before suddenly spinning and whipping the stick behind his back to build up momentum and launching the hard rubber ball straight at Sergio's head!

COMBATSYS: Sergio dodges Ichiro's Medium Fling.

"Yea, I certainly wont! That thing's pretty brutal." Of course Sergio is completely down with brutal, some of his moves are too, like that punch he tried to hit with earlier. As Ichiro is kind enough to warn him about the ball, he's able to manage a shocked look before ducking down, the ball flying past him and off, well, probably down the street. Some kid probably got a new souvenir! "Yea, not going to forget that either, but I hope you've got more where that came from or your not tryin' that one again."

He then punches his fist into his hand, "That's the thing about using what I've got, though- no chance of running out!" Such a statement could be worrying to someone who doesn't have the vast reserves of chi as Sergio does! There's no reason to let him get a free shot at him though, and he has quite a ways to go before he can make up for his blundered attempt at trading hits, so he goes right to it. Rather than swinging a fist or foot, he goes for the take down. He suddenly lowers his shoulder and charges Ichiro, a wave of water rolling up behind him and then crashing into him, increasing his speed for a short moment before he dives forward in a flying tackle. It worked on Kain, why not Ichiro?

COMBATSYS: Ichiro endures Sergio's Strong Throw.

"Oh, I might have a few more lying around," Ichiro smirks. Quirking an eyebrow as the Italian man rushes him, using his impressive chi abilities to throw himself forward, Ichiro appears unsure of what to do for a split second. "Had to get hit sooner or later..." he tells himself with a wry grin as he crouches slightly and sets his shoulder to receive the tackle. This would probably work a lot better with the shoulder pads that he normally wears, but his leather jacket is reinforced with armored plates, as a lot of modern motorcycle jackets are nowadays, and if there's one thing that lacrosse has prepared him for, it's getting checked.

"Ooof!" Ichi grunts as the larger man crashes into him. Rolling backwards with the force of the blow, the lacrosse player tries to quickly jam the butt of his crosse up into Sergio's neck like a pikeman receiving a cavalry charge. It's a quick blow, but Sergio's own force and the location of the intended hit should help give the strike that extra 'oomf'.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro successfully hits Sergio with Quick Strike.

So Ichiro is going to just take the hit and use it to his advantage, huh? Well... there's really not much Sergio can do about that! He crashes into the Lacrosse player and tumbles along with him. He tries to roll off of him before the retaliation can hit, but alas he's not the quickest guy around so he gets smacked in the neck with the crosse, letting out a bit of a choked sound as it hits. That was a bit stronger than he was expecting!

But he's not the type to just take that kind of punishment without retaliation, oh no! Since his attempt to get away fails he decides to just let loose from close range, pulling his fist back and aiming to slam it into Ichiro's stomach while still up close, an orb of water surrounding the fist to give it the oomph he intents.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro interrupts Fierce Punch from Sergio with Cross Check.
- Power hit! -

Sure, Ichiro enjoys whipping lacrosse balls at people with punishing speed from across the room, I mean, who wouldn't? But don't be fooled into thinking that he can't handle fighting up close either. At 5'11, young Oe is pretty large for a Japanese kid, not to mention the fact that he has hardly a speck of fat on his very athletic frame. Lacrosse is a very physical game, especially the indoor variety that Ichiro favors. It wasn't as much of a stretch for Oe to make the transition from his sport to fighting as it was for some of his classmates, and sometimes it shows when he's able to string along some success, even with his lack of experience.

Quickly flipping his crosse into a two-handed grip, one hand at each end of the stick, as Sergio attempts to form some sort of chi-attack, the lacrosse captain swings the metal shaft of his lacrosse stick with violent force and cracks the smooth Italian right in the jaw with one of his more devastating techniques, not to mention taking a good deal of the force out of the older man's own punch. Skipping back a few steps, Ichiro rolls his shoulders gingerly to work out the pain of Sergio's earlier tackle. That one hurt. "Ah, here's one..." Ichiro says with a smile as he pulls another rubber ball out of a pouch behind his back and gives it a bounce or two to test it's springiness.

Sergio is hit so hard by the stick that it knocks him away and rolls him across the ground. Well shit. Whereas before he was at a disadvantage, now one couldn't help but place the moniker of 'losing' on him. Rubbing his jaw while picking himself up he gives Ichiro a look, "Jesus, you've got some arms on you, kid. Not many people that can ring my bell quite like that." He shakes his head a bit to clear it, and decides that y'know what? Maybe sticking to a distance would be better after all.

Showing that Ichiro isn't the only one who knows how to lob things around, he reaches inside of his shirt and pulls out a six foot length of rope, heaving it at the Lacrosse star and sending it on it's way. But this is Sergio, and there can't be a maneuver of his without some kind of chi element, can there? As the rope flies through the air water forms around it, spinning quickly so that it forms a vortex, almost like a little tornado made of water with the rope at the top, rapidly spinning inside. The fun part about all this is that the rope is held at neck level, so if it hit's it's not only going to bombard Ichiro with chi, but also strangle him.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro dodges Sergio's Whirlpool.

"Whoah!" Ichiro does NOT want any part of that. Catching the lacrosse ball in the pocket of his crosse, Ichiro grips the lacrosse stick across his body with both hands and dashes forward and to the side at a 45 degree angle, his top-tier athletic speed making the juke seem almost preternaturally fast as he dodges around the deadly vortex. Water flecks his face and runs down his cheeks as his own Burning Spirit wells up inside him, causing what almost looks like a golden aura to blaze to life around him.

"BULLET...." he intones as the cornea of energy begins to envelop his lacrosse stick and set the ball in it's net ablaze with his energy. "...SHOT!" he finishes as he whips the crosse forward, the force with which he launches the ball causing Ichiro to slide across the pavement on one foot as he leans into the throw and sends the ball burning with golden energy rocketing at Sergio's silk shirt-clad chest.

COMBATSYS: Sergio blocks Ichiro's Bullet Shot.

Damn, that kid is tough /and/ fast /and/ strong. That's not very good. But Sergio isn't the type to worry excessively about things like that. He'll just do his best to beat the crap out of Ichiro and whatever happens happens. The energy that suddenly forms around Ichiro causes an eyebrow to raise. Now that's interesting. It's no surprise after that that the lacrosse ball that's flung his direction ends up glowing with energy as well. But... well, Sergio doesn't feel like dealing with it. He lifts his arms up and sets himself, the ball striking into his arms, delivering it's energy, and then bouncing away. Sergio slides back a short ways, and contemplates.

What should he do now? Ichiro's proven that he's fast and durable, giving him a bit of pause. Well, he can't dodge /everything/, he finally decides, just keep pounding away! With that in mind, he decides to pull out the big guns! The gun he didn't make work last time! Crouching down into a low stance, he pulls his arm back and grins. Then in one powerful motion he slams his hand forward, "HAAH!"

For a few moments there's a shocking amount of nothing going on, but then the ground begins rumbling. A moment later, the sidewalk in front of Sergio rends, exploding forward as an torrent of water rushes forward, almost as of an underground river had diverted to the surface, huge hunks of the concrete sidewalk ripping up and going along for the ride, all of it crashing towards Ichiro. "HAAH!"

COMBATSYS: Ichiro blocks Sergio's Whitewater.

And again, for like the 5th time this fight, Ichiro's eyes go wide and his jaw drops at the sight of this next assault. If he had time, the lacrosse captain would tell Sergio that he probably has the most impressive techniques that he's ever seen! Ichiro doesn't really know much about fighting and martial arts, so he's always interested in watching how others fight, and Sergio has to have the flashiest fighting style he's come across so far. But then again, for all of Sergio's flash, Ichiro is doing pretty darn well so far. Guess there's still something to be said for the power of determination and burning spirit! Either that or it's just beginner's luck. Anyway, back to the action.

Mouthing a exclamation that is thankfully lost in the roar of water and cracking pavement, Ichiro throws his hands over his face and lowers into a crouch that's only about two steps away from being the fetal position as the rocks and water pounds at his leather jacket and the protective helmet that's thankfully covering his precious noggin. Holding that position for a few moments after the torrent passes, Ichiro slowly peels his arms away from his face and looks up at the Italian.

"W-w-w-ow..." Ichiro stutters between chattering teeth as he shivers, the low temperature already causing an icy crust to start forming on his helmet and jacket. "I'm-m impressed..." he informs Sergio as he straightens up and attempts to shake the shivers out before gripping his crosse tightly and assuming his athletic stance, wondering what other tricks the Italian man has up his sleeves.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro focuses on his next action.

Luckily for Ichiro that quickly freezing ice is going to disappear pretty quick. It might suck to get wet in the cold, but luckily the water isn't real H2O, but rather the manifestations of Sergio's energy. Seeing that Ichiro managed to weather the attack he's both let down and impressed. "Not bad. I figured you'd just hop out of the way or somethin', but that's pretty impressive too." For some reason Ichiro decides not to attack Sergio in return, which makes him ponder. Usually when someone does that he just bull rushes them, but this time... well he's actually getting a bit worn down.

Maybe it's a huge insult to the prowess of his opponent but Sergio is... well he's going to take a breather. He stretches a little and winds his right arm a bit. "Man! I really should have gotten more sleep last night. Or maybe I should have just had something to drink before I came here! Whew."

COMBATSYS: Sergio drops his guard to recover.

Sure enough the ice disappears almost instantly. Ichiro is still pretty cold though, he hadn't really felt the chill until now. Narrowing his eyes as Sergio begins to stretch and relax and do everything short of yawning and pulling out a pillow, Ichiro seems somewhat vexed for the first time this fight. "Hey buddy, what's the matter, not enough action for you?" Apparently Ichiro's manners don't come as easily in the heat of battle.

"Maybe this will wake you up!" Holding his crosse with his normal two-handed grip, Ichiro bursts into motion and charges at Sergio, though he breaks up his motion with a few quick, effortless jukes to the left and right before he closes the distance. Raising his crosse as if he is going to wallop again with the stick as he nears, Ichiro suddenly jukes to his right one final time and passes by Serg, attempting to plant his left knee square in the taller man's stomach with enough force to maybe see what color the Italian's lunch was this afternoon.

COMBATSYS: Sergio blocks Ichiro's Light Kick.

Time to find out whether his gamble will pay off or not! Ichiro clearly is going to take advantage of his lowered guard. For Sergio it's time for his amazing luck to shine through. When Ichiro comes forward he has almost no time to put his guard back up, and nearly gets hammered by the crosse. The reason he doesn't? The jukes. If he'd struck during the first attack then instead Sergio'd have gotten plowed, but instead by the time the real hit comes around the Italian manages to figure out what's up, raising his leg up with a bent knee and taking the blow in the leg rather than the stomach.

"Close! Too close, but now I've got my footing back under me." Feeling his oats again he reaches out for the Taiyo student, attempting to grab him by the shoulders, turn him around and then put him into a headlock, choking him for a few moments if he succeeds before placing his hand against the small of his back and blasting him away with a hard burst of water.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro fails to interrupt Riptide from Sergio with Cross Check.

Ichiro's usual grin finally drops into a frown as he can slowly but steadily feel his momentum in the fight draining away from him. Grabbing his crosse and raising it to try and strike the older man in the jaw once more, Ichiro is caught off guard by Sergio simply spinning him around instead of coming at him with a direct attack. "HRRK!" the teen grunts as he's put into a headlock and choked for a bit before he's blasted away like a piece of dog crap being pressure washed off of the sidewalk. Tumbling to the ground in a heap, Oe is a tad slow to get back to his feet. Though he doesn't seem very bruised and battered so far, the fight seems to be taking quite a bit out of him.

Ah! Now Sergio finally has something going for him that he'd lacked the entire fight: Momentum. As odd as it is, even to him, his little break seemed to have been a bit of a turning point in the fight. There's nothing saying it can't turn back, but for now he's going to go with it. The fact that Ichiro misses an attempt to smack him in the face with his crosse makes it all the better. "Ah, now we're getting somewhere!"

And just as he did in his last fight, he moves to press the advantage. The fact that the young man gets up slowly is going to make this easier. He rushes forward towards Ichiro and jumps in the air, attempting to plant a kick to his chest that'd knock him back a ways, and following up with three hard punches across his body, a palm strike that stops just short of his chest coming afterwards, another spray of water flying from his hands, "Hah!"

COMBATSYS: Ichiro dodges Sergio's Breaker.

Eyeing Sergio wearily as he leaps into the air, Ichiro doesn't really feel like hanging around and finding out just what the rest of the Italian's combo consists of. Pushing off of his right leg, the lacrosse player dodges off to the side of the incoming kick before spinning and attempting to clock Sergio on the back of his head with his crosse and he passes by. "I'm not done yet," Ichiro informs him, his strength of spirit a strong undertow running beneath his current of fatigue. "The final whistle has yet to blow..."

As he's leapt over, Sergio aborts the final few strikes of his attack, and whirls about. He tries to avoid the strike that follows, but proves that he's rather bad at it, and gets clocked not in the back of the head, but rather in the face. "Agh!" Ow. He rubs his nose after stumbling back several steps. He's... really starting to wear down now. "Heh. Didn't think you were."

Sergio's at a bit of an impasse. He's not entirely sure what to do at this point, so he decides to just go and do something odd. A quick scout of the area gives him what he's looking for, and he makes a dash away from Ichiro. Bending down he scoops up a small blue ball from the ground- one that used to be covered in gold energy, turns and hucks it at him, "Catch!" I mean, come on, he's a star Lacrosse player. There's no way he's not going to catch it in his crosse. ...right?

"Psh," Ichiro snorts as Sergio throws the ball at him. What is he planning on accomplishing with this? Ichiro catches hundreds of passes just like this every day at practice. He not being able to catch this ball would be ridiculous. Taking a step towards the throw, Ichiro prepares to stick his crosse out to catch the ball just when his foot catches on a piece of rubble from where Sergio's earlier attack tore up the pavement. Tripping slightly, the captain of the lacrosse team drops his arms to steady himself and hopefully keep from falling on his face. Unfortunately there's still that pesky rubber ball to deal with, which happens to strike Ichiro right in the face and fall to his feet where it bounces in place for a few times before coming to a stop. Well, that'll end up on YouTube for sure. How embarrassing.

"You call that a throw mister?" Ichiro calls out after giving his nose a quick rub. "Here, let me show you how it's done!" Reaching down and scooping up the ball in his crosse, Ichiro attempts to save some face by flinging the ball back at Sergio, with a good deal more velocity this time.

Tonk! The ball bounces right into him. It can't help but cause Sergio to grin wildly. So what if it was a fluke, his silly idea paid off! "Hey, there was nothin' wrong with my throw!" He says with that grin still plastered on his face, one that quickly goes from cocky to shit-eating. Maybe it looks odd on someone as old as him, but sure enough, it's there. Ichiro picks the ball back up, though, and hurls it at him with the crosse.

Well that was only too expected! Especially after he lost face by getting hit with it- but actually the whole damn thing was a setup! That's right, you heard me. Sergio begins gathering his power, and then out of nowhere an incredibly massive wave of water forms behind him, sweeping him up and accelerating him towards Ichiro at an incredible rate. The scary thing, though, is that there's another wave of water that forms behind the Lacrosse player, and if he's not careful he might not even notice it! And as for that ball? It smashes into gigantic wave and splashes, all it's energy completely spent before it gets to Sergio.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro endures Sergio's Unrealized Potential.

Managing to hit the kid, Ichiro is swept up in the water that comes from behind him, and the two waves barrel towards each other. The Italian grins widely and pulls back both his fists as the waves near, and then crash together cataclysmically. Just after the impact the two are brought together, and Sergio slams both fists forward and buries them into Ichiro as hard as he can, while all around them the two waves swirl eddy about the fighters, tearing into Ichiro while leaving Sergio completely unharmed.

Ichiro finally knows what it feels like to ride in a washing machine. This Sergio guy just keeps unleashing more and more impressive attacks, each one bigger and flashier than the last. Beaten and battered by the maelstrom that swirls around the two fighters, Ichiro simply lashes out with his crosse wildly as the waves die down, trying to smack Sergio on the head yet again. It's all Ichiro can do to keep on his feet at this point; the tides have finally turned, so to speak.

COMBATSYS: Ichiro successfully hits Sergio with Quick Strike.

Y'know, for being hammered by Sergio's most powerful attack, Ichiro doesn't seem /too/ terribly flustered about it. Sure, he's swinging wildly, but he's also being thrashed about by violently moving water. Sergio ends up just raising his arms up and crossing them, but that ends up being a pretty bad idea, as rather than in front, the weapon comes from behind and smashes him in the back of the head, knocking it down hard, and he ends up biting his tongue.

"YEOUCH!" Comes from him, sounding a bit slurred due to his tongue's condition, and as the water fades away to nothingness he turns his head and spits, blood splattering the ground. Unlike the water, it doesn't evaporate. Ok, so what now? Well, lets just try something fast, something Sergio almost never does...a lone palmstrike! Only it stops short, and fires off some water. What, you expected something without energy?

COMBATSYS: Ichiro fails to interrupt Alpha Release from Sergio with Lacrosse Plus.

Ah ha! Ichiro has him right where he wants him now! Using the last of his energy reserves, the lacrosse captain focuses his burning spirit, calling forth the golden aura around his body... when suddenly Sergio's palm flies towards him and a large gout of water slams into Ichiro's chest, sending him flying backwards and skidding along the ground. As Ichiro lies unconscious the golden aura that surrounded him fades just as quickly as the puddle of water he lay in.

COMBATSYS: Sergio has ended the fight here.
