Kentou - Frilly Hogwarts

Description: Having managed to escape Seijyun's guardian of justice, Mignon, Kentou finds refuge within Yurika's dorm room. The boy wonder finds she already has company, however. No less than, Mignon's sister and Yurika's newly appointed mentor. Ninon! What will Kentou think of this new addition? And what burning question does he have for Yurika, that puts the girl in a headspin? ..She wants him to be her WHAT?!

Huff puff huff puff huff puff.
Kentou's feet do not fail him now. The youth managed to race up several flights of stairs in record time. Leaping two or three steps at a time in some cases. Not even bothering to look back as he puts one foot infront of the other, arms flailing at his sides with long braids flailing in the wind.
With a final bounding leap, the youth launches himself onto a familiar hallway off the banister, rolling on the floor smoothly before sliding to a halt several paces away from a particular door.. ONLY then does the youth's wide, mousey eyes dart to the stairs a distance beyond. Gasping for air as he strains to listen above his heart pounding his ribcage and blasting lungs.
...Nothing? Nothing.

After a long, looong moment the boy wonder is satisfied that he finally lost that crazy Magical Witch. Head sagging low as the tension leaves him and relief arrives in its place.
"...That.. was close.." The youth breathes, wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his hand as he recovers for long, long moments.

After a fashion, Kentou then slowly rolls into a seated position, one arm slung over his upraised knee as he manages to get his rapid respiration and pulse under control.
Fwew.. Lucked out on this hall being empty at least!
The boy slowly, tiredly rises to his feet. Wobbling a few moments in fatigue before slowly approaching the door. Restraightening his wushu jacket in a moment of self-conscience before very lightly tapping the door.

%...Wouldn't it stink if she wasn't in? ... Oh man, all that for nothing...

Well first off, there is a specific reason why Yurika never gave Kentou her phone number. She knows how boys like him work, and it would be much more interesting for her to have him sneak onto campus rather than call her. Why? Because she's some sort of sadist?

Hardly, she just imagined the scene in her head and found it utterly adorable. Now the thing about Mignon's voice is that it's something that's pretty difficult to miss. The silver haired student just so happened to be standing at the window at the time to pour her tea, the first person she saw was the young kempo fighter.. And returned to serving her company tea.

Things are normal for a while then, though moments before she decides Kentou must be on his way up the musician, who had been sitting at her tea table, excuses herself to stand once more.. And open the door on the second tap of the young boy.

As usual he's greeted by a mysterious little smile, Yurika clad in her usual school uniform, her maryjanes of course left at the door, ".. Hello? Oh! Kentou, please, come right on in, are you all right?" Though it's questionable that one should ask that while still beaming pleasently like that. Classical music is being played in her room, probably from a radio station and her room is as clean and organized as it always is: Tea table in the center, desk and television at the front. Posters and a bed to the left. Dressers, shelves holding musical instruments, and a cupboard full of teacup sets to the right. And she appears to have company.

On the table isn't just tea, but sewing accessories, frilled materials, and pins. She must have in the middle of a lesson.

And at that table, wishing that she didn't recognize the voice screeching throughout the school, is the aforementioned company. She looks vaguely uncomfortable, and perhaps slightly angry. Her sister hadn't made a scene yet, Ninon had secretly hoped maybe she'd just gone home or something. Clearly, this was not the case. She doesn't even seem to care that Yurika has other company, right up until she hears the voice of the visitor. Clearly, its an invader! Fortunately for Kentou, Ninon is not the 'heroine of justice' type. It doesn't run in the family, you know! Unfortunately, she's not nearly as naive either. "Hmmm?"
This is clearly a good chance to entertain herself. She steps up behind Yurika, wearing as friendly a smile as she can muster. It isn't very friendly. "Yurika, you didn't tell me you were inviting a man over." She speaks in a disturbingly, at least perhaps to Yurika who knows her real nature, friendly voice. "Or is this merely a somewhat masculine woman? Either way, I must say you should probably change your brand of perfume."

The boy's knuckles wave in the air a few passes as the door unexpectedly swings open quickly. Somewhat tired eyes blink a bit more brightly, a little startled as he quickly looks up to the silver-tressed class president candidate, "O..Oh, Yurika!.." His expression quickly changing from surprise to something more pleasant as there's nothing mysterious about his smile. Usually sincerity is his forte, if it wasn't for a small series of fibs earlier to get around a certain tenacious guard on the first floor!
Clearly, the boy does look winded. His face flush as he sheepishly grins, rocking on his heels, "F..fine! I'm fine yeah. Just ah.. woo.. lots of stairs here.. eh-heh.." Fanning himself with his off-hand as he very quickly hops through the openned door. His relief now becomes total as he's safely out of sight from the student body who could throw him in the slammer.
Or worse... Call his Uncle. ._.;

The room seems about as immaculate and well-organized as he remembers it.. Excepting that there seems to be a new addition. The boy's progress is halted as the gothic girl interdicts herself a short distance behind Yurika. The youth startles a little as his gaze takes in this new.. rather less welcoming figure, "Oh! I'm sorry.. I ah.. didn't know you had company ..uh.."
Taking another step backwards to the door again as his gaze nervously switches back and forth between the two, "I can.. uh.. I can come back later if.. uh.. if.."
Uh oh.. This new person doesn't seem to be quite as.. understanding of allowing a boy to be on campus. Kentou hopes he isn't going to put poor Yurika in an awkward spot here if..

Hey wait a sec.. Did she just call him a girl?! The youth, a few inches shorter than even Ninon, squares his shoulders a little as that comment fully processes, "H..Hey.. I don't wear perfume.." Slender lips pouting deeply at the suggestion.
Eyes shifting back to his shoulder after a moment, hazarding another sniff. ._. ... Okay, hiding in trashcans may not have been the best of ideas.

Of course Kentou can back off all he'd like, but the moment he hopped inside to where he believed he was safe, Yurika had closed the door, and turns to Ninon with an expression of mild suprise. "Hmn? Oh, well, actually I wasn't expecting any other company today.. Not to say that it isn't a pleasent suprise of course.. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw his..... Potential."

Yurika's cheeks pinken just slightly. Ninon would realize the last sentance was referring to his somewhat feminine features. And given how long the two have known each other so far; there shouldn't be any doubt Yurika's into things like that. Though then again, Yurika never exactly came off as 'normal' when it came to her hobbies, did she?

Her hands would then settle on Kentou's shoulders, encouraging him to walk forward, and take a seat at her desk. "Oh no no, Kentou, I couldn't kick you out after you've come all this way please, make yourself at home. Oh, and please meet my mentor, Ninon. She's our schools resident witch, isn't that interesting?"

And then she's turn to Ninon, "This is Kentou, a young martial artist with a destiny to bring honor to his family's style. Though I personally hope one day I can hire him to be my serv- ahh... .. Aid.. In battle. Yes." Yurika raises one of her gloved hands to her lips as she glances to the side. She doesn't make a comment about the boys unique scent. She can take care of that later.

How likely Ninon is to turn this 'Kentou' fellow in is entirely dependant on how amusing he is. Right now she could care less that he is here. Its Yurika's room, she's allowed to have whatever guests she wants. Such is her privledge and Ninon honestly doesn't care enough to try and deny her it. The girl locks an appraising stare onto the visitor before finally turning away to head back to the table. "Potential, hm? I see..." There's a little smile on her face. She knows exactly what the other girl is talking about. "I suppose there is no need to have him removed then, provided he tends to his manners. See to it that you do, Kentou, and I believe that I will be able to tolerate you." And with that she settles herself back down at the table. "So, Kentou. You wish to bring honor to your family's abilities, hmm? My own goal is rather similar, though in my case I don't care for the rest of my family. Grandmother passed her abilities to both of us, but only one of us mastered them. And that one was me."

'Bomp' goes Kentou's back as he softly collides with the suddenly closed door behind him. The unexpected sensation makes the youth hop forward a single step with a reflexive squeak.
Kentou's gaze lingers suspiciously on Ninon for a moment longer before turning his attentions over and up to Yurika in full as she explains a little bit more.. His lips pursing into a small 'o', "Well.. as long as.. as its ... okay...." Kentou's voice slowly trailing as he puzzles over Yurika's somewhat vague commentary.

Potential? Hmmmmm. Oh! Maybe, maybe Ninon thinks he'll be a potentially great fighter too? ^.^ Ah, good good!

As those hands settle on slender shoulders, the youth blinks once. Still a little hesitant to move from the door this quickly, but doesn't resist much at all as he stumbles his first step before smoothing his pace, "Oh.. Oh well thank you.." His smile returning to its previous levels as he plops himself down on the seat. Mmmn, good to get off his feet for a moment! Legs swinging gently as the boy wonder reclines a little.
"Aah. Ninon.. Oh? She's your mentor? Oh.. that's very nice to meet you I'm glad that you da dah duah Witch??" Kentou's voice transforms from cheerfulness to incredulty as he blinks again at the rather dour looking girl. o_o;

Under normal circumstances, the boy would be more than a little skeptical.. But after what he just saw a few minutes ago from Mignon Kentou's skepticism has taken a pretty hearty hit.

....
...Seijyun isn't a Witches school is it? Like Hogwarts only.. frillier..? A notion that.. unsettles him more than a little. Thankfully for Yurika, the boy's disbelief at Ninon's puzzling introduction keeps him from noticing a very slight verbal correction there, "..Wait.. what was? Oh battle! Battle yes.. Yeah. I can fight. Yeah.." Nodding then a bit sheepishly to this dark 'witch' as he confirms Yurika's statement.

Still! As Ninon finally gives her begrudging approval of his presense the boy pouts a little bit, but inclines his head in a slight bow, "A..ah.. thank you Ninon.." See. Manners! Well, such prim and proper young ladies do bring out the good behavior in him at least. Afterall, Yurika has always shown him such kindness.. the least he can do is pay her back by keeping his attitude in check. Of course.. At Ninon's comment about tolerating his existance the edge of his smile twitches, "I'm.. glad." Eh-heh.

However, the youth does find himself a enwrapt in Ninon's explaination of this sorcery. Attentive eyes stay upon her, occasionally glancing back to Yurika as if to wordlessly ask for confirmation of this unfolding story, "Oh.. I see.. So you inhereted this..uh.."
Something strikes him,
"..Wait.. 'both'? Whos is.." The cogs slowly churn behind Kentou's eyes, "..Wait.. don't tell me your ... as in.. Mignon?" More than a little stupified. How in the -world- can those two be related? No no, that was just a bad guess. Infact, Kentou already begins to chuckle a little at how mistaken he must be. Hee Hee..

It's certainly better that Kentou doesn't run into Ninon alone, that's for sure. It's very possible that running into Ninon.... Could have been even worse than running into Mignon! On the other hand, perhaps it's a matter of perspective? We'll leave it to the reader to decide. Once he takes his seat, Yurika right away gets another glass, so that she can pour another cup of tea. She has to wonder what it was the poor boy had to go through anyway, all she's heard about Mignon so far were just the occassional adjectives from the gothic sister.

She'll go ahead and let Ninon talk to Kentou for the time being, and Ninon is curious how the witch acts toward considerably young fighters. She had a feeling that Ninon was the type to scare kids on halloween and dubbing it her favorite holiday. Kentou soon finds himself offered a cup on a saucer, "It's just green tea, here you go.." Really. She never tires of Kentou. The boy is just so -expressive-, and it never gets old. Once she takes a seat at her tea table again, the musician is practically glowing with delight. "A lost style of chinese kempo, to be exact.."

"Hm hm." A laugh without any humor behind it escapes Ninon. "Indeed, that girl is none other then my 'dear' elder sister. I do not do such things often, but I feel compelled to apologize to you for having to deal with her. You see, when it comes to our family, I inherited everything. The intelligence, the grace, the beauty, and the power. Mignon tries hard, but she is...well, to put it bluntly she is rather stupid. I had hoped to be away from her when I moved here to Southtown, but SHE decided otherwise. It hadn't even been two weeks before she arrived, helpless without me to guide her in her day to day tasks. But enough about such unpleasant topics."
The girl is silent just long enough to wet her throat. "As Yurika says, I am indeed a sorceress. Many people would find this hard to believe, but Yurika knows I am no liar. She has seen my talents firsthand and knows I am not merely boasting. You would not of so easily of escaped me had it been me instead of my childish sister you encountered. However, knowing that you are Yurika's friend, I will not stop you in the future. Consider that a gift of apology for your encounter with Mignon."

The little fighter is enthralled with Ninon's unusual origins, as she earns his complete attention. Complete enough that his occasional looks towards Yurika halt for a moment. Mousey eyes occasionally blinking, brushing asside his wild bangs from over an eye as he tilts his head inquisitively.

The clink of the cup and saucer before him snaps him out of his focused attention for a moment, startling a bit as he looks back to Yurika and offers her a sheepish, hasty smile, "T..thank you!" Ah! Tea from the older girl is always a treat. Honestly the boy didn't think green tea could taste all that terrific.. but in retrospect the boy probably didn't know what REAL tea tasted like until he visited here the first time. As such, he eagerly accepts the cup. Puffing a moment at it's shimmering surface before sipping.
Mmm! And ah, that reminds him!

The boy lowers the porcelin vessel a moment to quickly side-comment to Yurika before he forgets, "Oh Yurika.. there's something I wanted to ask you.." The actual purpose of his visit, as it were.

But the youth is fairly easily sidetracked as his attention slides back to Ninon as she laughs that bitter kind of laugh one expects an arch-villain to laugh when admitting defeat to a noble hero. The youth blinks once, listening as he takes the moment to sip at his tea again.

To Ninon's somewhat edged tirade against her apparently elder sister, the boy is shocked enough as is that its actually true! But at the venom beneath the proper girl's tone Kentou can only stammer a bit, "..Well.. I.. I wouldn't say tha..I guess.. that is to say.. I ..ah... well.. I see.. ah.." Voice trailing into his tea a moment as he decides he does noooot want to step into that sibling rivalry any. The boy reasons.. Sisters are like this, right? They tend to sorta get each other's goat and surely they really do love eachother! Not that this kinda scary girl would admit such a thing.
Then another detail strikes him as Ninon offers what must be the singular apology ever issued by her half of the Beart Family, "Wait.. how did you .. how did you know Mignon was..?" Were they watching him? Somehow? But..

Still, the youth seems a little .. intimidated by the girl's humorless boast and grandoise offer of territorial amnesty, "I..I see.. Well.. Well thank you.. Ah." Swallowing a moment as he looks into the rippling surface of his steaming refreshment, "..I think I believe you.. I saw Mignon do.. something. I .. I can't explain it.." But magic doesn't REALLY exist does it? What else could it be though? Mignon didn't really seem very.. capable of learning some advanced martial artist technique that would seem 'magical' like that.

"Thank you very much, Ninon.." Yurika murmurs to her schoolmate. Unecessary, likely, but Yurika's gotten into the habit of thanking Ninon for a lot of her so-called 'generosity'. She's also gotten used to the unusual relationship Ninon has with Mignon; she may have even bought into the hype and gotten a little nervous herself- But that's hardly a trait fitting for the Student Council President after all. She had meant to talk to Ninon about that anyway, but it could wait for another time.

After a quick nod to Kentou, she picks up the cloth that she was practicing her stitches on, and gets back to work.. Looks like she's sewing a little heart pillow. Though the heart itself is.. Black. Still she can't help but pause now and then to look to the youngest fighter. "Certainly, you can ask whatever you'd like.."

Usually she's more cautious about making offers like that, but she highly doubts he'd say anything she wouldn't want Ninon to hear. "But don't let me draw you out of your current conversation.. There's no rush after all."

"I told you boy, I am a sorceress." Ninon smiles ever so sweetly. Of course in this case one didn't need magic to figure out that it had been this boy that Mignon had seen, merely a little bit of deductive reasoning. Ninon, of course, doesn't bring this up. "Mignon attemped to show you her 'magic', hm? She doesn't lack the raw talent for it, but her control is horrendous. If she continues to live her life in such a foolish manner she will never be able to handle it. One must be able to control one's self before they can hope to control anything or anyone else. This is as important in day to day life as it is in magic, so if you truely want to bring honor to your family, boy, do not forget my words. They are an important first step. But I imagine you did not come here to talk about this topic, hmm? You wish to speak to Yurika, and you thought it important enough to break in here to do. I am quite interested in hearing just what was important enough to do this. So go on. I will not interrupt."

There's a fool-proof formula for Kentou's expression. The closer his attention is on Yurika, the wider his smile. The closer his eyes move to Ninon, the more pensive and nervous his look becomes. Revolving between the two extremes throughout the conversation, the boy nods briskly to Yurika's offer, "Good.. Good I.." Voice trailing as he squints a bit at the pillow in the midst of crafting. Huh.. that looks heart-like but.. isn't it the wrong color?

Regardless, the pendulum swings as Kentou heeds Yurika's advice and returns his wary attention back to Ninon. The boy nearly hides behind his teacup, sinking a little into his seat as he visibly shrinks juuust a little. Listening carefully to what the Witch has to say..

At the somewhat evasive answer, the boy has no recourse but to accept. Pursing his lips in something of a frown, but he's willing to accept that little mystery for now. ... If only because arguing definitely doesn't seem like something one does with this girl. The last thing Kentou wants is a reason to earn the kind of cold-iron ire this shadowy girl can bring to bear. Still, the youth nods his head once to confirm Ninon's question.

And the advise she gives.. Kentou has to admit he finds fairly profound. His cup lowering into his saucer a moment as her words are directly heeded. Tossed about in his thoughts and very heavily considered.
Control.. yes. Wasn't that what Frei was saying to him before? Hotaru and he both had such terrific control of themselves and their abilities. He always thought speed and strength meant everything in combat.. in fighting. But.. Maybe she really is on to something there.
"I..I see.." Kentou stammers quietly. It takes him several long moments to break out of his quiet introspection and begin to do what Ninon insists, "I.. yes..ah.. Yes.. Thank you, Ninon.." Inclining his head to her almost belatedly.

Only then does he looks back to Yurika, shaking his head just a little to snap out of the intensity of the earlier moment to try and get himself back on track. That important notion filed away.. for now, "Yurika.. Ah.. Yes. I wanted to talk to you actually.. You see its about.. um.. I wanted to ask you about your ah.. your brother." Eyes shifting to Ninon in brief before fully back to Yurika, "..I believe.. I believe I met him a day ago. I.. I wanted to ask you a few questions about him if.. if that's okay.. that is.."

Poor Kentou. Yurika is understanding Kentou more and more, but she'd already learned to pay close attention to his expressions; not just because they're adorable. Honest.

The musician sets down her half-sewn heart in favor of grabbing her teacup and saucer, and simply smiles patiently toward the young boy. She had a feeling it would have been about Kurow yet.. She hasn't the slightest clue why, what interest would he have been to her baby brother after all? After taking a small sip, her dark eyes shift upward thoughtfully, and then she gives a nod, seemingly of approval. "That's fine, Kentou, you may ask my anything that you'd like."

Whom she is a little more wary of, however, is Ninon. The witch is more or less the only thing keeping Yurika from being completely honest with whatever question she may be faced with. But she doesn't look to the girl in black, attention focused completely on her newest company.

There's a brief flash of surprise on Ninon's face when the boy reveals what exactly he came here to speak about. It is quickly masked, and chances are the others are too distracted to even notice it, but it was there. Yurika's dear brother is a topic that she herself was somewhat curious about. However, she had never directly asked what exactly the relationship between the two siblings was. It had proven more amusing to simply inform Yurika that she had met Kurow. The result had been much what she had wanted.
It's a similar thread of thought that convinces her to simply say nothing when the question is asked. Instead, she merely goes back to her own stiching, as if the topic held no interest to her whatsoever.

Of course, the boy is oblivious to many things at work in this prim and proper dorm room. Imperceptive of the subtleties, the youth misses the small interplay between his hostess and her first guest. Of course, Yurika's encouraging smile and full attention keeps him from noticing anything out of the ordinary of Ninon's interest.

Rather, the only thing Kentou feels is a bit of relief as the elegant hostess approves of the topic. Nodding once as the youth turns his gaze to the cup and saucer at the table before him. His voice a touch hesitant, at least at first.

"I..um. You see.. A few days ago.." Deciding to explain the circumstances first to give Yurika better perspective on where he's coming from for this, "..I..Your brother.. ah. He.."

How to delicately phrase to the kind girl that her brother is a total jerk-face?

"..He ambushed me and Hotaru. While we were training.. you see.. ah.." Another notion dawns on the boy as he looks up to sheepishly admit, "Hotaru's my sensei now.. ah.." Circling back on track as his eyes then lower. Not quite able to meet the poor girl's gaze. "..He attacked us both. He was good.." The boy idlely begins turning the cup on the saucer, a meaningless little motion serving as a noisey figit, "..Really good.." Understatement of the year. Kurow is hardly much older than Kentou himself, though one couldn't easily tell with how friggin tall that bean pole is! And that kid was easily stronger and faster than anyone he's ever seen in his life.

"..I mean.. He mostly attacked Hotaru.. I guess they really know eachother or something.. but.. The things he was saying.." Expression scrunching a little as his frown deepens, shaking his head. However, before Kentou continues his mousey gaze very briefly lifts up to meet Yurika's own before descending again. As much as he wants to blurt how he REALLY feels about that guy, he doesn't want to do it to his older sister. They are, afterall, family. He doesn't want to put her in any more of an awkward position as this already is.

"..I wanted to ask you. I guess.." Holding his hand out openly a moment, paused in due consideration before placing palm-down on the table, "..Could you tell me more about him? I mean.. what is it with him? Why is he so.. like that? How did he get so incredibly good.. but at the same time so incredibly.."
Tilting his head to the side, Kentou finally admits, "..Not nice.."

The musician cringes slightly during Kentous explanation. It wasn't an answer she was expecting, but hearing that Hotaru is involved it unfortunatly makes things a little too clear in a way. She could have just written it off as bad luck; but it turns out to be much worst than that now that the kempo girl is his -teacher-??

Yurika closes her eyes for a moment, feeling a smidge of responsibility; it was her that suggested he find someone with a similar style to train with after all. Now she knows from this point it's doing to get more difficult. Why does it always end up this way? That everyone she wants her brother gets to in some way? It's.. It's almost infuriating in a way.

Or not so much infuriating as extremely frustrating. Yurika settles down her saucer and cup, and gestures to the empty cushion at the tea table. "Kentou, come here, I want to confess something to you." She would wait for a moment. And then her expression, entirely serious, looks to Kentou. "My brother, Kurow.. He is the way he is.. Because I am a terrible older sister. You remember, when I said you remind me of him? That was the truth."

And thats when the musicians gaze drifts to the side. "He was so much like you.. Well, his ambition for strength, it wasn't until after he was taken. And I was too weak to protect him then.. I suppose I didn't love him enough either. I thought I did."

As Yurika speaks, Ninon listens with a neutral expression on her face. She's so silent that its almost as if she'd fallen asleep. There's barely any movement from her, its obvious she isn't concentrating on her needlework anymore. Her neutral expression begins to fade as Yurika speaks. It changes from confused and rapidly into a look of annoyance. Once the girl is silent, she can't help but speak up. "And I suppose you believe that? Yurika, I honestly had thought that you had at least started learning from me. Allow me to explain why everything you've said is wrong."
Unlike with Yurika, the presence of Kentou has absolutely no affect on her ability to be honest. "As you'll recall, I had a 'meeting' with your brother in the past as well. I suppose he could be called 'not nice.' But this world doesn't allow nice people to prosper. Those that put others before themselves will always find people willing to use them as tools to be cast aside once they are no longer useful. This is not to say that helping others is in itself entirely useless, but you should always do so for your /own/ reasons and not simply to be nice. That is the way the world works. And unless I misread his behavior, your brother realizes this. You are not responsible for his actions, he chooses them of his own free will. But I suppose I have gone off topic." She points a finger at Yurika. "Do you understand what I am telling you? As long as you have feelings like that, you will be a tool. What he will build with you I cannot say. I admit that this is somewhat frustrating. I do not enjoy that which I do not understand."

Irony is, the very thing Yurika advised Kentou to do complicated her life. Of course, the boy owes Yurika much for helping him come to that decision. Already it has helped him, before starting training in earnest even! And the boy certainly wants to thank her for it. However, the current topic at hand is stealing his attention and he'll have all the time in the world to thank her properly later.

As the elegant class president seems a trifle stressed over her pending answer, Kentou's expression begins to sink into a guilty frown. The youth begins to hold out a hand, words telling Yurika 'it's alright and she doesn't have to answer' balance on the tip of his tongue before she gestures.

Closing his mouth with audible quickness the youth presses his lips together tightly and nodding after a fashion. Well, his request is out in the open now.. And he does want to know.. The boy then changes his seating, carefully balancing his cup on his saucer as he rises from his seat to settle upon the cushion closer to his hostess. The porcelin clinking gently with the motions as the cup is lifted back to his lips..
..But does not sip as Yurika makes her confession. Eyes slowly widening as the vessel sinks back down to the small plate slowly, forgotten in the wake of this new, startling information..

As Yurika's explaination reaches a pause... The boy finds he doesn't know what to say. Caught between several conflicting emotions, the youth continues to stare, "You.. I.." Several sentences fighting themselves in the depths of his throat, finding it difficult to settle on which one first. Until, finally, choosing the one thats really the most important, "..No.. No, you arn't a terrible older sister.. that can't be true.." Pursing his lips as his brow furrows slightly, "I'm sure you.. I.."

The revelation that he reminds her of that.. jerk? Kentou isn't certain how to take that. It was a compliment, certainly as that boy is incredibly good and that's how she must mean it but.. but.. If Kentou is on the same path as THAT guy.. Rarely has he ever questioned his path so keenly.. Strength is never worth being cruel, not in his book. Kentou would sooner give up martial arts altogether than ever be a mean person like that! How could anyone make that choice for themselves?
...Or perhaps Kurow didn't have a choice?..
"What.. what happened to him? ..Taken? .. Who.. who took him?" The boy leans a little closer now, clearly engaged in this unfolding mystery..

Kentou had, up to this point, mostly forgotten about Ninon's presense. So perfect is her silent stillness the youth had nearly forgotten there was other company here. It isn't until she speaks up that the boy startles.. Hopping a bit in the cushion as his cup rattles on its saucer, thankfully the tea has long since diminished, preventing easily spilling.
Luminous brown eyes turning to Ninon, completely puzzled as to what bearing she has on their family matter? Perhaps she's a close friend of the family? Is that..
..However, as Ninon's explaination continues the boy's expression turns into a somewhat more dour frown. In his book.. That's wrong. Utterly wrong. The world doesn't work that way! But rather than risk being impolite infront of his hostess, not to mention putting Yurika in the extremely uncomfortable position of arguing with her guest and friend.. The youth just holds in his opinion. Biting it back with grit teeth within his firmly pressed lips. Which, for an impulsive boy like him, is absolutely not easy.. The teacup rattling on his saucer in his grip is proof enough of that.

Yurika listens to both voices. And even while she's in a bit of pain, she still has to be wary of Ninon; she knows very well the witch will say things that Kentou has very strong feelings against. But how is she supposed to respond and still keep both parties on .. Well.. Neutral terms?

Settling both her hands carefully on the table, Yurika thinks it through. And then first responds to Ninon. "I understand what you are saying, Ninon.. And that part of the subject is something I am not willing to discuss in front of Kentou. I'm learning from you in hopes of gaining the ability to change myself for the better, and that is all that's important. I will not allow any of your words to make me think otherwise."

Yurika keeps eye contact with Ninon for a moment, it perhaps worth noting that not at any point in which she spoke then did her mysterious little smile waver. And then she looks to Kentou, and gives a light shake of her head. "I apologize, Kentou. I am not looking for sympathy, so please try to remain neutral during my explaination. He was taken by his teacher, and he came back.. Different. I don't remember much more than that, we were very very young."

"I don't know why he's taken interest in Hotaru. If she's your teacher, I'd.. Reccomend finding another one. He's a very difficult obstacle to overcome at your age."

"Fine. I suppose, then, we can save that conversation for another time, Yurika Kirishima." Ninon relents solely so that she'll be able to say that she did when the time comes to try and really get information out of the girl. Pressing her here and now will do no good whatsoever. "What I cannot agree to, however, is in this boy giving up." She pulls herself to her feet, and steps torwards Kentou. "I do not imagine you are giving any thought of merely abandoning this 'Hotaru' person, are you? If so, you should abandon all your hopes and dreams in the process, and know that you will be condemned to forever be of no value. One must not be scared to defend what they believe in. If you believe that spending time with this person will do you good, then you cannot simply allow her to be taken from you, no matter who it is that is trying to do so. Once you start taking the easy path, you may find the difficult one too difficult to bear. And if you /truely/ want to defend the honor of your family, then I'm sure you realize there are no shortcuts. Take that which you need and cut away that which you do not. That is how you will succeed." Her eyes stay locked on the boy as she speaks. "Wouldn't you agree, Yurika?"

The youth's hardened gaze remains on Ninon for a long moment, only breaking from the Witch to return to Yurika. His eyes soften immediately upon her as she reiterates a detail the boy had nearly forgotten from earlier in this meeting.
Ninon is supposed to be training Yurika? Dark eyes glance side-long at the gothic sorceress, looking more than a little distrustful now. Well.. The youth takes the elegant girl's words for heart. 'Changing for the better' is the most important part. Clearly Ninon has a .. rough opinion of other people and the world at large. But.. perhaps.. that is simply her way of hardening her students? Like a rough drill sergeant? .. Maybe.

Still, as Yurika turns her attention back to him his expression is apologetic. She may not desire sympathy, but she'll recieve it all the same.
"I..I see.." The boy murmurs quietly as Yurika reveals this dark secret. Eyes drifting away in contemplation, considering this. So.. Kurow was manipulated to be this way? And thus, the youth's curiousity seems to be without limit or boundry as bright eyes snap back to attention, "Who was.. Who was his teacher?" Peeling back layer after layer, certainly wishing to get to the bottom of this.
..ESPECIALLY if it may have anything to do with his own fate, as Yurika's words suggest..

"I will never give up on Hotaru."

For the first time all during this visit, and one of the only times since Yurika has even met the small youth, Kentou's tone does not waiver nor do his words stammer. There is no question, no hesitation.
If Kurow is, as Yurika suggests, what the boy could end up being one day.. Hotaru represents everything he -wishes- he could be. She's so like him; she understands what it means to fight for your family, to never give up .... to be so very alone.
There is nothing Kurow could do, including threatening to kill him, that could persuade Kentou from Hotaru's tutelidge now. However, perhaps regretting using such a harsh tone on poor Yurika, the youth sets his saucer on the tabletop and reaches forth a hand. Gently attempting to touch her own folded hands resting upon the tabletop, comforting her perhaps in some small way on what must be an extremey sore subject..

And as Ninon actually seems to give her support, and is unsurprised at his steadfastedness, Kentou is a little shocked. The youth blinks once as he looks up to the girl as she approaches.. His jaw hanging a little as she offers a speech that.. that completely flies in the face of the ruthlessness she had espoused earlier, "A..absolutely! I would never a..abandon.."
Easy path! No way. The youth has always taken the hard road and not once looked back.
At this proclaimation, Kentou immediately realizes he had this witch all wrong. Perhaps her opinions of other people are ..darkened for some reason. But her heart is certainly in the right place here.
"Y..Yes Ninon.." Bowing his head to her properly, "..I will never abandon Hotaru, no matter what it costs me!"

Kentou isn't the only one suprised by Ninons speech. Of course, every word that passes the witches lips sounds absolutly like Ninon. It shouldn't be suprising; maybe she's just suprised that it was used -against- herself. Her smile faulters, a bead of sweat falling down the side of her face even after Kentou's hands touch her own.

No, that certainly was no what she wanted Kentou to hear at all. But at this point it can't be undone.

So after swallowing hard, she regains her composure, and nods her head in agreement, "Y- Yes.. That's absolutly correct, Ninon.. I suppose I was just so shaken up my words came out incorrectly." Pout. But she then looks to Kentou once more. "Well that is where you're different.. I may have confused you at some point, Kentou. I doubt my brothers teacher is anything like your own. His teacher has passed on."

And finally she frees one of her hands to lightly pay the young fighter on his head. "I think you two will be all right. And I'm sorry, I don't have the ability to tell Kurow to leave you two alone.. Currently. You just keep doing what you do Kentou. But don't get too atatched to Hotaru because once you're a master of your art. I'd like you to be my bodyguard."

Sorry, Yurika. Ninon does everything for her own reasons, and more often then not, that reason is solely to see what comes of it. She has little reason to care what comes of Kentou. She'd met him not long before, after all, and he was not yet interesting enough for her to care about in the long term. Not like Yurika, the self-proclaimed witch knew that interesting occurences seemed to follow her little student around. Perhaps later she would consider this meeting one of them. "You know, Yurika...if you really like this boy, there is another way. I suppose that, too, I shall leave for later, but I imagine that you could probably get what I am hinting at. That is, unless I have underestimated you." And then to Kentou she turns. "As for you, perhaps you can succeed. Your reason for not giving up seems rather different from what mine would be, but as long as you understand that you cannot let others have what you want, then you at the very least have a chance to fulfill your so-called 'destiny'."

The youth notices the droplet of sweat rolling down the side of Yurika's otherwise pristine face. Clearly, the subject is causing her no small amount of grief. His hands easily release her own as she gently touches his brow in quiet benediction, gaze lowering as he adds slowly, "..I'm ..I'm sorry Yurika if this is hurting you... I.. I had no idea that someone.. anyone would do such a thing to your brother.."
As Yurika composes herself once more, Kentou offers her an encouraging little smile. Trying to brighten his expression and perhaps gladden her own if all possible. A smile that becomes even more genuine as the elegant hostess gives her blessings for his apprenticeship to Miss Futaba. Such words do mean much to him, as it was partly her advice in the first place! And as for the warning of Kurow, Kentou again shakes his head, braids rustling down his back, "No.. no. That's ..that's okay. You don't have to say anything to him.. He was tough.. really tough but.. but we held our own we.. we actually fought him off.." His smile growing even wider now, eyes glimmering as he remembers the fight, "..Hotaru .. she stood toe to toe with him.. and held her own! .. Between us two we.."

It then dawns on him, that maybe Kentou shouldn't seem so happy that they managed to actually beat up her little brother. Ahem. His faltering expression reflects the moment of inner turmoil as his tone calms down considerably, "..I mean.. I think.. I think we'll be safe.. Yeah.."

At which point, Yurika details out her intention in full. To which his eyebrows lift, seeming more than a little surprised, "..I.." To be honest, Kentou never really thought much of what he would do after he 'mastered' his family art. Once his apprenticeship to Hotaru had come to an end and the whole world had come to acknowledge the Ondori Style as both honorable and potent.. Well.. What comes after that Kentou always figured would tend to itself. Not that the notion of being a bodyguard is repugnant or anything. Actually, the idea of defending people he really likes certainly has its appeal. Surprise slowly evolves into a certain measure of flattery, as his cheeks gain a hint of color, "..W..Well I.. That.. c..certainly Yurika.. I mean.. I'd be happy to.."

Kentou then regards Ninon's monotone lecture with somewhat less pleasantness. Strange how his opinion of Yurika's mentor can swing back and forth so rapidly, but clearly he's less displeased with the dark witch and perhaps more.. simply puzzled. The boy simply does not understand where she's coming from. What can make a person view the world that way? Disturbingly similar to that tall young man who savaged Hotaru and him both. So much darkness in her outlook.. Is it that hard to admit that love and honor are the only things worthwhile?
The boy's response is a touch more measured this time, wetting his lips before stating, "I.. I don't know what my destiny is.. But .. but I'll never give up trying to make it happen.." Offering that much to the girl's edicts, as they are true in so much as that. Theories on not allowing others to have what he wants? Why should not others also strive for honor and family?.. However he leaves that notion verbally untouched, out of politeness.

The musician at one point does look like she wants to chuckle. But that would be because of Kentou of course, ah the innocence of youth.. And thankfully Ninon seems to be more careful with her words- At least in the case of revealing anything else to the youngest present company. Her eyes on Kentou, Yurika gives an approving nod. "I'd appreciate that.. As for Miss Beart, as you can see, she's a lot more complex than her sister. It'd probably be better for you to not try to think too hard about it; she knows what she's talking about, it just has to be viewed from a very specific perspective sometimes. That is little trouble for a woman such as myself of course."

Yurika draws her hands back to re-take her tea and finish the last of it, and seems to be looking considerably better than before. "We'll most certainly speak more of it at a later date, Ninon. So then, Kentou, is there anything else you were curious to know about?"

Ninon does not intend to be an easy person to understand. She cultivates an air of confusion and mystery around her. Sometimes it may even seem as if she is saying things solely to hear herself speak. But there is always some driving force behind what she says. Is she actually nicer then she lets on? Does she let hints of kindness and support occasionally slip loose to keep people from hating her? Or is that itself simply an act to hide who she really is, a girl who holds the world around her in disdain? She does not make that question easy to answer.
"Please, there is no more need to speak of my sister. The topic has moved onto more interesting things, let us not ruin it by mentioning that childish girl." Simply thinking about her sister makes her annoyed, and the tone of her voice does nothing to mask this. "In fact, I think perhaps I should be taking my leave soon. As interesting as this conversation is, I do need to seek some rest. I trust that neither of you will forget what was spoken of here, hmmm?"

As Yurika seems visibly more comforted now, the youth's own expression grows more serene. At least, it would seem, Yurika's mood has been restored to its earlier level of contentment. The boy nods once again to Yurika's advice, eyes drifting to his cup as he similarly lifts it from its saucer once more. Draining what little remains as his eyes slide back to Ninon. Yes.. Kentou has to admit he's fairly happy he isn't her student. Yurika clearly has the correct perspective to look upon this Sorceress teachings. At least, it would seem, a few of their philosophies are close enough that he feels comfortable leaving his hostess in her care.

The boy's attention then returns to Yurika in full. Taking several moments to puzzle out his feelings on this matter. His own curiosity is nowhere near sated, but at the same time... Kurow is obviously a painful subject to bring up to the girl. What tragedy her family must have endured with that boy.. But the, can he say he is much different? Or Hotaru for that matter?
It seems.. how people deal with loss is what defines them, and sometimes.. its equally important to learn what not to do.

Kentou then slowly shakes his head, setting his empty cup politely on his saucer, "No.. No, Yurika. Its alright you've.. you've already told me more than enough. I.. I apologize if I've ... if I've forced you to bring up any bad memories.." The youth then slowly rises to his feet. Straightening as he presses the knuckles of his left fist into his right palm, the Sword in Sheath gesture of peace, "Thank you for the tea and the company. I.. I really appreciate it." Bowing at the waist formally.

As Ninon likewise indicates her leave will soon be taken, Kentou does similarly turn and bow to her in full, "..Thank you for your advice, Ninon. I ..I won't forget your words." For as perplexing and puzzling as she can be, her feelings about dedication match up with his own perfectly. As far as her sister is concerned? ... Eh-heh.. Why does the boy have a feeling his near escape wasn't the last time he'll be dealing with Mignon? Unlike the others here or Yurika's brother.. There isn't much complex about that girl. But then.. perhaps.. this means out of those mentioned tonight, she's the luckiest of them all?

"All right then, Ninon, I'll do my best to avoid mentioning her in the future. Thank you again for taking some time to come to my room. I'll speak to you again soon.." Her smile to the witch in black alone is enough to confirm that she won't forget her 'teachers' words. And luckily for her it doesn't seem that Kentou is against it- Though his expression shows mild uncertainty, she can deal with that later.

The graceful hostess she is, she excuses herself from Kentou to show her schoolmate to the door and draw it open, followed with a light curtsey. And then adresses the youngest present. "It's quite fine, Kentou, please don't worry about it too much. You're at the age where you need to learn and understand many many things, especially with your chosen 'profession'. And they're not memories that I am pushing away, Kentou. For every moment I remember, the stronger my desire becomes. I will no longer sit in a corner and cry.. So.. Thank you, Kentou, rather than you apologizing to me."

"Ah, so you'll be leaving as well?" Yurika then adds with mild disappointment. But she won't worry about it, she knows she'll see Kentou again, too many interesting things have happened here for him to walk away forever, she knows it. o/~

After taking a moment to gather the materials she'd been using in her needlework, Ninon steps torwards the door. She does not immediantly walk out it. "Tonight was a very interesting night, I would say. Much more preferable then spending the night in solitude. It was not entirely unpleasant to meet you, boy. See to it that you do not give up on your goals. To do so would make you weak and the weak have no value to the world. Remember that." And then, without another word, she begins the trip back to her room.

The youngest files in a short distance behind Ninon, giving her a moment to say her goodbyes before likewise moving towards the door. Being as patient as he can, though the boy rocks on his heels and takes another lingering look about the room. What were these two sewing before he got here anyway? .. Hrmmm.. Ahwell, probably nothing important. Just lessons or some other similar thing.
As Ninon takes her leave, the little fighter bows to her again, "It was.. good to meet you too." His words a bit more guarded, but he was sincere with that statement at least. Watching her head down the hall a little ways before exhaling slowly.

Still, as Yurika regards him once more the boy inclines his head, smiling fully now as she seemed to take his line of questions far better than he had imagined. Glad that he didn't inflict undue anguish upon the hostess, he furthers, "I.. I'm glad Yurika. Thank you, then.. for answering my questions." Moving to the open door before turning back and looking up to her with a full grin, "Yeah.. I need to get back home. ..I have a couple chores to do and gotta get up early tomorrow for work.. and then training! I'll see you again soon!"
The boy always enjoys visiting here, even if its becoming a bit more difficult to negotiate the school's.. more colorful membership who aren't quite as thrilled to allow him passage. The last thing Kentou needs is some kind of reputation as some pervert sneaking around the girl's dorm. ._.; But! He shall return again soon! Yurika can count on that!
As the youth then ducks low and begins his stealthy mission anew. This time.. Operation: Escape.
