Aislinn - Behind the Music

Description: Yurika calls Aislinn out to a posh hotel for some business discussion... and a little bit of training.

About the Business District, there's.. Well.. Business afoot. And the request that Yurika asked of Aislinn was actually quite unusual. It was simply a letter requesting of Aislinn to meet Yurika in front of a hotel. Just a quick google would show it's one of the more unreasonably priced, fancy shmancy hotel with twenty floors, red carpets, well-dressed bellboys, the works. Just inside the hotel, within the main lobby is Yurika, adorn in her usual light-blue attire which actually is a little out of place when mixed in with the other well-dressed ladies and gentlemen about. And with the time being roughly fifteen minutes before the requested time, eight in the evening, things are getting very quiet, with just a few folk occupying the indoor cafe, and of course the employees moving about.

Yurika passes the time doing the same thing she's usually found doing in her spare time: Reading a small romance novel with great interest.

Requests. Aislinn doesn't get many requests from Yurika, really. So when those little notes are slipped under her door she usually pays attention to them. The location gets a bit of a raised eyebrow--only a very little bit--but then, Yurika certainly seems like the kind of person who 'enjoys the finer things in life'. Aislinn?

She could care less. Her clothing won't be altered in the least--and she doesn't even walk into the lobby in her Seijyun uniform. No, today she's decked out in her bad, basic black leather, her NESTS outfit in full effect.

Sure, she's getting some stares, but it's not like she cares; she pauses in the glass-walled entryway, spots that familiar blue, and makes her way towards Yurika, post-haste.

Most of the reason of her lack of contact is her business with the election situation. Yurika is feeling fairly confident about her current standings; it still isn't shoe-in, but the lead is just enough for her to start making some moves.. Well that, and she had a feeling that it may be a little while before she sees her schoolmate once again.
Ninja's intuition or something.

Obviously there's some confusion and many eyes upon Aislinn when she arrives, and there's even some question about approaching the young woman to ask if she has a reservation here, but that's put on hold once the musician catches sight of her invitee, and stands up with a pleasent smile. She claps the book shut, "Miss Doyle! Or, well rather Aislinn, I'm glad you could make it." she greets.
With no intent of hanging around it would seem, she motions Aislinn to follow her, she walking along the carpet to head toward the elevators, the walls covered in brass. "I apologize for asking for you on such late notice, but.. I had a feeling the time might be short, and if I waited until the next time I saw you, it'd be inconvenient. On the other hand, I'm fairly certain you wouldn't be opposed to the idea I had in mind."

With a pause in her step, Yurika looks over her shoulder to her violet-haired companion, "Oh how rude of me, making assumptions like that. Have I pulled you from something important?"

Aislinn has the utmost confidence in Yurika's ability to win the Student Council election. There aren't any serious competitors, after all. Aislinn would eliminate any of them and she would do so in a quiet manner. So really, it's assured. At least Yurika isn't lingering around any; the Silent Assassin waits a few moments for Yurika to take the lead before following, hands folded behind her back.

"No, not at all. If there were something important I had to do, I would have refused the invitation," she replies, rather matter-of-factly. Yurika isn't such a powerful draw as all that, after all, and Aislinn has a strong sense of duty. So, she's here. And somewhat curious about why they're here, of all places. "Did you have a purpose for calling me out here?" The words are bland, of course, but there's still that small undercurrent of curiosity.

The elevator door already open, Yurika steps inside waiting for Aislinn to step in, and presses the 'LL4' button. With a chime, the doors close, the brass doors revealing the pairs reflections.

"Of course, I could certainly understand that, considering your occupation. It seems to me, then, that I got lucky today, good for me." Yurika replies, clapping her palms togeather. Possibly a little too pleased with her conclusion. But her smile relaxes, looking to her schoolmates reflection. "And I most certainly had a purpose for calling you here. You may have noticed lately I've been avoiding on-campus battles. This isn't any different, as you might guess by my chosen location. What I needed of you today is actually very simple- A test. A test in the form of combat."
The musicians dark eyes draw to a close for just a moment, almost as if strongly considering her next words. But eventually they do come out. "Also, I've been thinking, and I have mild concerns about your duties of observation. I take it, that I'm not exempt in this duty of yours, Aislinn?"

Aislinn stares straight ahead, into her own reflection, as she waits. She can be incredibly patient, of course, and her poker face is as pokery as a professional cardshark's. So there's little reaction at either revelation--that Yurika wants to test herself against Aislinn... or questions about her observational mission. Finally, her head turns, fractionally, her lavender eyes not seeking Yurika's, but rather her reflection.

"I observe everyone," she replies, calmly. That's all she says on that matter, because that's all that needs to be said. She just... watches all, and remembers as much as she can. Of course her analytical powers are not as good as Candy's, but...

"I see, so we're to engage in combat. I assume you have a proper arena for this 'test', then...?"sp

"Hmn, I see.." Yurika replies, propping an elbow then into her palm while tapping her cheek. "Very well, I will accept that, though not being able to accept it wouldn't have done me much good anyway now, would it?"

"Well with that aside yes, I have chosen this particular area because through some contacts I was able to get the forth lower level completely cleared out. There will be many pillars, and the ceiling is low, so you may find it difficult to go 'all out' without the possibility of harming yourself.. Which is what this test is about."

The elevator doors slide open again and lead right out into garage, deep underground, the lightning coming from above as well as from the lights lined along the walls. Pipes also drag along the walls and ceilings, and some of them seem to be leaking judging by the sounds of water hitting puddles. It's a bit chilly as well, and as Yurika said, all the parking areas are cleared within the circular garage; the elevator smack dab in the center.

Yurika steps out and to the left where her violin case resides, and kneels slightly to open it up. "Any questions before we start, then?"

Questions? There are any number that Aislinn could ask--but asking questions just isn't her style. Instead, she looks around, observing the arena with a quick glance... noting the pipes, the pillars... and the ceiling height, probably twelve feet or so, just enough for jumping.

Aislinn doesn't follow once the arena is made obvious, and well, while Yurika is walking off to the side to get her violin, Aislinn is moving in a different direction. Suddenly, those boots of hers just aren't making much sound, and once Yurika looks up from her violin, she'll see...

...that it looks like she's alone. A test? Aislinn will test Yurika as well. She's no ninja, but she can be stealthy, and so now she's hiding behind a pillar, waiting for Yurika to realize.

Yurika takes her time picking up her violin, perhaps she was expecting Aislinn to take the first strike?

If she was, well then she should be suprised once she looks back to see that Aislinn wasn't running toward her but away, and in what direction?

The musician knows she doesn't have quite that much time to think, but then again nor does she need it. She reaches behind her to draw a tuning fork from her bow, then slams the small object against the pillar closest to her, and closes her eyes for a moment.
Now unless Aislinn's completely vanished, it should only take her just a few seconds to find where the tone will faulter, and she starts taking steps toward where she believes Aislinn is hiding.

COMBATSYS: Yurika has joined the fight here.

Now -that- is an interesting tactic--something Aislinn hadn't expected from her opponent. Yurika is inventive, at least. Fortunately, Aislinn really isn't that far away--as much as one could be in a confined area like this, at least. She knows she can't remain where she is. Being frozen by such a tactic is just what Yurika wants.

Still moving as silently as possible, Aislinn wheels slowly around the pillar she occupies... and then bursts forward, her footsteps audible now, easily. And they are the only thing announcing her presence as she flashes into view for Yurika, coming in at an oblique angle, from Yurika's right, one balled-up fist shooting forward and seeking to crash against Yurika's cheek.

COMBATSYS: Yurika dodges Aislinn's Medium Punch.

The light smile on Yurika's lips only draws a bit brighter still. For the musician, it was a win/win situation; no matter what her opponent did, Yurika would be able to locate her, as long as the sound continued to ring, she'd know where Aislinn was.

And so this shows by her reaction to the blow toward her face; which the musician had always had a great distaste for. Her step back is simple, the blow close, but barely even grazing her cheek with the subtlety of her step back, resheathing the tuning fork to regain her violin bow. "Close," she muses aloud while setting the bow atop the violin strings, the string of notes instantly coming to life. Yurika takes a hop backward while a large ring of rests and quarternotes shoot forward like a chakram toward Aislinn.

The dodge is very subtly done. Quite nice. However, Aislinn simply pulls her hand back, as Yurika performs her hop, and in fact rotates herself back a half-step with her left--now leading right-side... and her right fist comes up, energy gathering within her body.

The darkness is briefly lit up by a flare of light energy--a thick beam of concussive, laser-like power firing from ports that open in the knuckles of Aislinn's right hand, a blast that slices right through the musical chi, blowing it into scintillating shards that fade out.

What's left of that blast is continuing on--for Yurika, again, though it would probably impact high on her chest, rather than in the face...

.. It's been a long time, Yurika simply cannot remember if Aislinn had used such a counter-attack before. She was near certain that her opponent wouldn't be able to deal with her chi blast in such a manner!

Yurika hides her suprise somewhat, but she's luckily quick on her feet.. Well and fast hands don't hurt either. As Aislin's blast continues it's path, the musician stands on a single tip-toe, then kicks off of it to twirl in place, another musical string filling the garage, and the sound glows into existance, spiraling about her form like a gymnasts ribbon. It'd seem there was a lot of 'unf' in that light shot though, b the time it's negated, she doesn't have anything left to throw back, leaving her just slightly. Very slightly perplexed. "Well now, that was interesting.."

Interesting--a very quick reaction, that. However, now the momentum has been stopped. Aislinn could work to regain the momentum and she will, but not by initiating another attack. Instead--with Yurika expending energy to negate the oncoming energy blast, Aislinn is given a chance to recover some energy and prepare further. To that end, while Yurika is busy with her musical chi, Aislinn is busy with her own chi--rerouting and initating an internal surge.

There's no immediate outward result, but some of that energy leaks out, and so Yurika might sense the ensuing buildup, Aislinn's body settling, her stance solidifying as she drops her center of gravity slightly. Her eyes never leave Yurika's--silent challenge reflected in those lavender eyes, as she waits for Yurika to 'bring it'.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn gathers her will.

Yurika finds herself in a mildly awkward position. With the intensity stopped short just like that, and most certainly not according to plan.

Long story short, she's pretty sure she's made an error that may be difficult to recover from. Unless she plays it smart: what would have brother do? No, she can't rely on that line of thinking! Setting her bow in her opposite hand, Yurika withdraws her tuning fork once more and taps it against the pillar. Then she throws the tool like a dart toward Aislinn's legs prongs first. Its a skilled throw for sure, and the impact may not be great, but should it even touch Aislinn, the resonating sound, in her mind, would mess up Aislinn's nerves and dull her movements a bit.

It might. But we'll never find out, now will we? Aislinn snaps her left hand out, dipping her knees, and catches the tuning fork in her hand--the vibrations it induces a slight tickle, nothing more. But rather than return the object immediately, she slips it into a pocket--perhaps for use later in this fight or in others. It's a small, possibly handy sort of thing.

Still, it does force Aislinn to move back a couple of feet... a distance she quickly makes up, for all that, lunging forward and jumping high, hands outstretched to find a water pipe--using it to alter her trajectory and bring herself swinging around towards Yurika in a flying, double-footed drop-kick.

As she plummets towards Yurika, her chi flares up, blazing red-white electricity along her feet and shins.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Yurika with Light Kick.

The musician at least wasn't too attatched to the object but she is suprised that Aislinn pockets it.. She can't really fathom why, unless her opponent has imagined another use for it. Puzzling, but she can't help but smile a little more in the process.

And then Aislinn bursts forward and makes use of the environment to put a little extra oomph into the double-footed kick! The electricity is a bit of a.... shock... And Yurika doesn't seem to be able to slip away this time which causes her to stagger back and impact against the pillar that wasn't too far behind her! The musician still doesn't seem very eager about the idea of getting close at the moment, so she doesn't. She sets her violin bow on her instrument and plays once more- Though this time the glowing musical notes don't seem quite as threatening, simply dancing about her frilly form.

COMBATSYS: Yurika gathers her will.

Interesting. The question is, what will Yurika do with that energy she's gathering? Aislinn isn't sure she wants to find out, exactly--and so, even as she backflips from the kick to make a safe landing, she's thinking. This is a 'test' combat, of course. But that doesn't mean anything unless Aislinn gives her all and Yurika does likewise. That is to say...

Aislinn has no intention of holding back. So even though she lands about ten yards from Yurika, she's lunging in again, her feet barely touching the ground as she flies forward... then plants her feet, bringing her motion to an abrupt end...

... except for her right leg, which swings from back to forward in a power, 'soccer' style kick, aimed to plant the tip of a boot into Yurika's stomach.

Yurika is almost.. Too overwhelmed by Aislinn's aggression! She should have expected this, so it's a bit annoying for the musician to not have prepared as such. Well there was no use in crying over spilled milk, eventually an opening would present itself for her to take advantage of!

Before Aislinn knows it, her calf is meeting Yurika's bow, she slapping the wooden instrument at her leg to ridirect it's momentum and instead push it to the side while she hops upward, then ultimatly back a bit. And then? It's her turn to strike, the silver haired student twists to the side and drops to the ground to kick her legs outward in a scissor motion. The attempt here is to capture Aislinns ankles between them while settling on one hand, then turn sharply to send her opponent falling ungracefully to the ground!

Nnnf. Aislinn gets dumped to her back, unceremoniously; misjudging Yurika's strength slightly, she's caught and lands hard, breath whooshing out in an involuntary reaction. She's quick to kick free, however, rolling along the concrete flooring before rising to her feet. All told, the damage isn't terrible... and pain can be dealt with.

Briefly, Aislinn wonders what Yurika will learn from this--a down and dirty brawl in a leaky, underlit garage. What can Aislinn teach the young Kirishima scion? Perhaps lessons in patience--or, perhaps, lessons in knowing when to slow the action down again.

To that end, Aislinn... once again, doesn't move a muscle, as she rises... waiting and beckoning, with her eyes, to Yurika. A look that says 'finish me'... if you can.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn focuses on her next action.

Finish her? Yurika definatly would if she could but as it stands currently there's simply no way she can- At least not at the moment, she hasn't done enough damage according to her calculations. As for what she's learning, it isn't something she was willing to share in the beginning; nor is she in the present. For now she need Aislinn to continue fighting the way she is!

So she knows she can't use her trumpt card yet, but even still with the look she's given, the musician responds with her small, pleasent smile. And then rushes forward.

Light in her steps, Yurika closes in the distance while playing on the violin still, and once she is close enough, leaps straight upward (though not too high) while the glow of her chi reveals itself, once more swirling like a ribbon.

If Aislinn's unlucky enough to get caught up within the upside-down tornado, she could be carried upward as well while her body is assaulted by the musical energy. "Will this do?"

COMBATSYS: Aislinn fails to slow Fatal Rondo from Yurika with Large Thrown Object.

[           \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////////////        ]
Aislinn          1/---====/=======|==-----\-------\0           Yurika

Caught. Aislinn saw Yurika coming, and formed a plan.. but despite the relative lack of speed, Aislinn's plan does not come off. She leaps upwards--straight up--intending to rip out one of the water pipes and use the rushing liquid to douse Yurika's ardor... but the pipe proves slightly more well-made than expected. Aislinn is caught up, and whirled around, and generally blown back by the attack, tumbling along the ground.

Again, more pain... and again, Aislinn rises. Pain is an old friend--perhaps the oldest friend she still has--and its familiar half-step chorded song sings along her nerves as she gets to her feet, still looking utterly unruffled.

Yurika didn't miss Aislinn's reaction. In normal circumstances she'd back off a little bit and prepare for another strategy, but instead she'd going to attempt to press the slight advantage- After all the tables could turn at any moment which may be avoided if she keeps the pressure up!

With Aislinn standing up once more, the musician points her bow at the other girl and then jabs the weapon at Aislinn's gut. Though there's something a little different about her bow than last time they had fought. Now there's a drill-like tip at the end, short but sharp!

COMBATSYS: Aislinn endures Yurika's Weapon Jab.

Heh. Drill-tips... how quaint. Aislinn suddenly doesn't look woozy, as the bowtip comes in... and strikes true, drilling into her upper body. There's no attempt to evade, just a pure bracing of feet and... just as that tip strikes, Aislinn's left hand snaps out, grabbing the bow firmly, holding it. Assuming Yurika holds on to it as well, for this split second moment, Aislinn uses it as a sort of connector.

That is, she uses it to keep Yurika close as she suddenly lunges forward, shoulder-first, intent on barreling into Yurika...

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Yurika with Momentum Overdrive.

... and barrel she does, planting her shoulder into the other girl's chest and running straight forward. That might hurt a bit. The next impact is Yurika's back against a concrete pillar, an impact hard enough to make spiderweb cracks form. That has to hurt too.

But what comes next, that -really- has to hurt, as Aislinn simply starts pounding Yurika's midsection with body blows, like a crazed boxer on PCP working out on a heavybag--her arms blur, her fists cracking into Yurika's body again and again, miniature sonic booms ruffling Yurika's petticoats. That part of the assault lasts fifteen seconds.

Finally, Aislinn drifts back, leaning into the drift with her shoulders... her feet not touching the concrete flooring until five yards away, upon which they suddenly touch and her momentum is flung forward once more, Aislinn burying a doubled-up fist into Yurika's chest for the final blow. Welcome to lesson number one: Pain.

Yikes that was fast! Perhaps a little too fast! Yurika is left uncertain what to defend against and ends up within Aislinns clutches... And is in for a world of pain afterward.
The first blow dazes her so she can't reach the barrage that follows, and Yurika stumbles forward a step during the final pause. This causes the final fist to not only knock her back again but cause the pillar to nearly cave in completely!

It's definatly been a while since she's felt pain like that, the musician's arms falling to her sides and following a cough, blood flies from her mouth and onto the floor. But she doesn't collapse, instead she seems to instead be in favor of making distance between herself and Aislinn again, her violen carrying arm settled in front of her ribs.

COMBATSYS: Yurika gains composure.

Aislinn          0/-------/-----==|=======\-------\0           Yurika

Distance that Aislinn is not willing to let Yurika have. She lunges forward again, seeking to hit Yurika as hard as possible--this time, it seems, favoring her feet, as she ducks low with her lunge and once again transfers momentum from her feet--this time her right leg whipping up in a high roundhouse kick, meant to catch Yurika right behind the temple.

Once again, Aislinn's kicking foot bursts with that red-white electrical aura, flaring around the limb as she snaps the kick up, straightening from her ducked crouch. She knows her technique had to hurt--had to hurt badly, in fact--but she is also aware that the fight is far from over.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Yurika with Light Kick.

Yurika can't hide the pain too well, even her smile looks pained and it isn't her lips that are hurting her! The most important thing is not to panic, think things through carefully and figure out a solution. Aislinn doesn't seem too phased; it probably won't benefit her to do anything too risky, she thinks. It'd be better to perhaps try and wear Aislinn down until either a) Things get even again, or b) she passes out from the intense pain she's feeling. She doesn't even look like she tried to get away from the kick, the landing blow quite audible, and upon contact sends her collapsing to the floor again. But she keeps an almost desperate grip on her violin while dragging herself to her feet. Her breathing heavy, Yurika realizes her only option at this point is to just ignore the pain. She'll have to push her limits, and simply didn't think that would happen this fight. ".. All right.."

Yurika's dark eyes widen slightly, and then she's racing toward Aislinn again, though leaps away from her to wall-hop off of the pillar, flip and land on Aislinn's shoulders. What's to follow is a second, more forceful flip with the intent of using the momentum in said flip to send the girl smashing face first into the ground.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn fails to counter Quick Throw from Yurika with Heaven's Drive.

Once again, Yurika proves fast enough to take Aislinn down; suddenly, she's eating concrete, her grab for Yurika as the girl came off the wall unsuccessful. Again, though, the damage just isn't as bad as it could be... or perhaps should be? It's hard to say. Aislinn once again struggles away from Yurika before any further damage can be done, and rolls to her feet--looking the worse for wear...

... but still not down. She's tenacious to the end, self-confident and knowing she's already done about fifteen times better than she did in her last bout with Yurika. Better isn't good enough, but it's a step...

The musician, in the meantime, is constantly cranking out possibilities in her head. She can't tell if Aislinn was trying to react to the unusual throw or not. She'll just have to roll with it, simply because it looks like Aislinns guard is down and is providing another opportunity to strike!

She twirls on the toes of her maryjanes and whips her violin bow along her instrument, she sending another buzzsaw of musical energy at Aislinn.. Sweat forming on her brow as she takes a decent chance at evening things up a little more still! "Hyaah!"

Scary! This time, Aislinn elects not to meet attack with attack, but to evade instead, duck-stepping to her left, twisting her upper body along the plane of the attack as she leans past it--it's rather picturesque, if you could see it in slow motion, like a Hong Kong action flick. But just dodging isn't enough, is it? Aislinn twists further as she clears the attack, and suddenly, she's turning towards Yurika, whipping her trailing arm around as she shifts sides--leading left to leading right--and attempting to backhand Yurika in the process, her fist now containing those potent electrical energies.

Yurika thinks she's noticing something about the way Aislinn's attacking; there's a pattern, a very /odd/ pattern that she isn't entirely sure how to take advantage of. It isn't the fact that the backhand coming toward her is quick, she's now moving again as if she were fresh in the fight now, as the backhand again barely grazes her thanks to a well timed pirouette that soon positions her behind her opponent. Still, Aislinn's evasion was pretty impressive, and leaves her second-guessing her next move.

She finally decides to go for another quick strike, maryjane clad foot snapping out and hopefully slams into Aislinn's left side.

Aislinn frowns. The longer this fight goes on, the better for Yurika--the girl is faster than Aislinn and a bit stronger to boot. So she takes a calculated risk--lunging into that foot, in an attempt to reach Yurika and deliver a counter-blow that would end the fight.

Unfortunately, she misjudges the length of Yurika's leg and instead crumples on that foot, briefly, before springing back... now, of course, the fight -is- much closer... and it seems like Yurika is more likely to win with every passing moment.

For just a brief moment, Yurika's vision blurrs, but when it returns to normal the first thing she sees is.. Aislinn springing back. It looks like things are finally going according to plan, and the young musician points her violin bow Aislinnwards once more.

She should recognize th emotion, it's usually a signal that soon this fight will end. She's almost certain she's in the drivers seat now, and with that she puts down money of her own. her technique is a bit more telegraphed at this point, she sweeping her arm back as if she were about to roll a bowling pin, then thrusts her bow toward Ai's gut vertically, hopefully enough to make the woman double over. She then leaps upward to scissor her ankles at Aislinns neck and throw her weight to the side, effectivly slinging Aislinn like a dart toward the closest pillar!

COMBATSYS: Aislinn dodges Yurika's Medium Throw.

Briefly, Aislinn considers attempting to counterattack again. It's entirely possible she could survive such a clash... and yet, she's not certain. What is certain, though, is that she needs to have -some- response... and that response, in this case, is to get the hell away. She twists away from that stabbing violin bow and turns the motion into a full-on tuck away from her assailant, rolling twice along the ground in an artful tumble.

She rises again... her eyes intent on Yurika, should the girl try something crazy. But she's also winded, and as such, she takes a moment to bring her breathing under control. Certainly, Yurika's pressured her hard in this end-game...

COMBATSYS: Aislinn gains composure.

As Aislinn backs off, it would seem Yurika is going to allow it. For what reason, exactly, is probably obvious if one thinks of the long term. But for the time being she's got a plan that should surely help in bringing the fight to an end; even if for just a moment she's back in square one. "Your athleticism.. Isn't the same as I last remember. Has it really been that long, Aislinn?" the musician murmurs curiously, as she plays her violin once more; it's pleasent sound filling the air, and visably circling her body.

COMBATSYS: Yurika gathers her will.

Perhaps it has. Still... Aislinn watches as Yurika gathers her musical energies once more. It's such a fascinating sight, unlike any other type of chi she's seen--and she's seen quite a bit. Aislinn regards Yurika briefly, for a moment, then smiles faintly.

"I suppose it has been," she comments--apparently quite willing to let Yurika have her charge, as she let Aislinn have her rest... but not idle during that at all, backing off a few meters, studying Yurika as she is wont to do.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn focuses on her next action.

Yurika furrows her brows slightly.. Aislinn isn't attacking? This .. is possibly the opportunity she's been waiting for then! The energy bright about her form, Yurika is bursting forward once more, with the energy trailing behind her. It seems she is going for the same song as she twirls around but.. This time she's not leaping straight up into the air. Now she wants to just drag Aislinn into the tornado of sound with a little less power to set up for her next blow if she manages to blast Aislinn away.

COMBATSYS: Aislinn dodges Yurika's Tragic Lullaby.

No, she isn't attacking--for good reason. She felt that Yurika might come at her again with an attack like that... and so she summons up her dwindling reserves to backskip handily, once, twice, stopping herself against a wall as she avoids that twirling cone of sound. Oddly, it kind of looks like the way a Christmas tree would.. ah, her mind is wandering, a sure sign that this fight needs to end soon. Well.

Her foot is already braced--it's simple enough to lunge forward, hands clasped into a doubled fist that Aislinn seeks to ram straight into Yurika's sternum.

COMBATSYS: Yurika blocks Aislinn's Medium Punch.

The musician braces herself, She was at least prepared in case Aislinn did manage to get out of the way of her attack. There's a stumble in the musicians step afterward, the pain starting to return and making her cringe..

But she has enough in her to draw her bow as she spins, toward Aislinns double-fist, and the moment of impact is almost like as if someone were punching a giant top, it took a bit of effort but the impact was lessened in her clumsy block. On the other hand, the energy continues to erupt about her form and the glowing energy burns brighter; there's no turning back at this point! The energy continues still to draw the Seijyun student inward, as she continues to spin, and knock Aislinn against the wall, just to dragg her back in and assault her with a little more energy still if things go well!

COMBATSYS: Yurika successfully hits Aislinn with Fatal Rondo.

This time, she is well and truly trapped--smsahed between wall and wall of sound. Certainly, it's painful, and Aislinn gets beat back against the wall several times by Yurika's technique. But... she's not down just yet. Though it may seem so, as she slumps against the wall... battered, tired, wondering what the hell this was all about. There wasn't much to learn here, really...

What can she do? What -should- she do? It's clear enough that she's not going to win this fight--at best, she presumes, she can hope for a simultaneous knockout. But she does not plan to go quietly... Wearily, she pushes herself forward once more... tumbling forward, past Yurika, rising into a crouched stance, her body refusing to respond as it should. And then...

Then her arm snaps out, firing a projectile at Yurika--that tuning fork, flung tines-first, for Yurika's head.

COMBATSYS: Yurika dodges Aislinn's Thrown Object.

Yurika's shoulders rise and fall quickly; somehow she's able to maintain enough concentration to keep her powerful attacks going strong! Now that she had managed to land her twirling blast all that's left is for the coup de gras.

Still, she's not entirely sure how badly Aislinn is hurt; her poker face is impressive; but Yurika knows she landed a pretty solid number of attacks- The blow, she predicts, should decide the match then. "Well, it was a massive improvement.. But as I have promised, this match will now end.." She doesn't shift as Aislinn rushes past at first.

The musician takes a few steps back, and finally sees what the fork is for. Unfortunatly it doesn't seem there's enough skill behind the throw to effectivly hit her as the musician swats the projectile aside with her bow and again sets up to play while turning to face Aislinn once more, "This is my Final Melody, just for you!!"

Yurika plays and sweeps forward with a short burst of speed and suddenly the melody becomes almost unreasonably loud. She glides along the floor, the almost dull energy streaking behind her, and she attempts to slam Aislinn across the nose with her bow and comes to a halt not more then a few feet after she passes. The music comes to a halt.. And then the musical trail behind her flashes brighter than ever before, hoping to assault Aislinn this time from the left and the right like a volley of punches!

Aislinn... remembers this attack. It is, if she remembers correctly, what Yurika used to finish her in their last fight. To say that she's familiar with it may be going a bit far... but it's true she's seen it before. That helps, minorly, as does Aislinn's habit of practicing her techniques until they're not even second nature but first nature. The bow is just... stopped.

Aislinn catches it between her palms, in an extremely silly manner seen in ninja anime... and then she conducts her own small movement of the symphony of pain, sending a brief shock through the bow and into Yurika. It isn't much, but it's enough to stop her... for now.

Isn't that how it always goes? The attack stopped cold, Yurika is actually frozen in time for a moment to give out a completely astounded, "What??" is this power??

Silly or no, it's intense, and the nasty shock that follows is icing on the cake, making her yelp in suprise from the zap and stumble back with an astonished look. She stares at her bow for a moment, back to Aislinn.. It would seem for a moment she's about to be enraged! But then replies calmly, "Well, I suppose that is what I get for being cocky, isn't it?"

A quick check on her own condition then. She made a poor choice in banking everything on her last attack, now she's feeling extremely worn out. But what are her options at this point after being completely embarassed like that? A no brainer, really, as Yurika forces herself to push forward this time- Aislinn can likely predict what's going to happen next; she likely figured out Yurika's strategy since the beginning of the fight! But it's been effective thus far! Bow sweeping along her violin strings, yet another chakram of dulling music energy is shot toward Aislinn, Yurika staggering slightly after it's admittadly slopping execution.

They're both dulling, fatigue setting in hard for the two combatants--that much is plain to see. Aislinn's dodge is less artful than before--she steps to her left with her right, cutting in front of the spinning circle of chi, then takes a big, wide swinging step to her right, with her left... crossing over again.

And, once again, she tries to just sock Yurika one in the jaw, her flickering aura dull like Yurika's, exhaustion catching up with the young NESTS agent in this down-to-the-wire fight...

COMBATSYS: Aislinn successfully hits Yurika with Jab Punch.

Yurika tch's lightly, shaking her head in mild disappointment. Perhaps Yurika should have adopted a different strategy there but she knows that taking unecessary risks at this point is more likely to hurt herself anyway- The only fact she can rely on is that she's slightly faster than Aislinn, so should be able to pull through.

And Aislinn comes in with the most simple punch to the jaw that just simply lands. Yurika's eyes cross briefly from the impact, her upper body twisting to the side. And then twists right back to return the favor, only it's much more subtle, her last moment of grace as she sweeps her bow upward to catch Aislinn under the chin and lift her just slightly off the floor. The momentum would allow her to proceed to twirl Aislinn like a gymnasts ribbon in the air which is finalized with a slam down to the ground...
Though she doesn't have anything after that, it's pure instinct as she collapses to the floor afterward, simply exhausted.

COMBATSYS: Yurika can no longer fight.

Finally, she connects and... well, of course the fight isn't quite over yet. Aislinn would be utterly disappointed if Yurika hadn't tried to at least retaliate--gain vengeance--however you want to call it. But... Aislinn has a flicker of life left in her. Just enough to let her catch and stop Yurika's last attack.

Now, normally, Aislinn would pump yet more chi through her opponent... but there's no need, here. She just catches Yurika's bow and watches at the girl slumps down. Truth be told, she'd like to do that, herself... but this is NOT the time or place for it. So... with effort... she gets herself under Yurika's arm and straightens, forcing Kirishima to stand.

"Come on," she says, unceremoniously, "you can collapse in your own bed." It isn't even shown on Ais's face... -just- how uncomfortable this makes her. She is not a person who likes to be touched or to touch others--this is a rather large sacrifice for her. A cab is called, Yurika is hauled up to her bed (and tossed onto it) and then Aislinn goes to tend to her own wounds, which are many and extensive...

COMBATSYS: Aislinn has ended the fight here.
