Mad Gear ... IS NOT TOO HARD TO FIND>

Down Town Metro City, on the edge, has a few spots where the other sections of Metro Begin to seep into it. And one of that is the West side of Metro City. If Elle would have told Birdie just where he needs to go, he'd be able to spot, rather simply, a gigantic truck. It's colored in many, many colors. It's also massive and is currently parked outside of a bar. One of the finest bars!

JAM PACKED FULL OF MAD GEAR GANG THUGS. They're celebrating a victory, and it's certainly a great victory! Why, Katana had beaten Hotaru, even if he didn't really in the end, and then Stray got what he needed!

Everything went according to plan! "Hahahah! The Japanese spirit has brought me a new blade! One that will be treasured. Drink up, be merry, and rub the Bhudda statue for good luck, ha ki no! Hahaha!"

LIKE MAD GEAR, NEITHER IS BIRDIE. Luckily Mad Gear is real easy to find, though.

As Birdie begins heading towards where Elle sent him, at least in the right direction, he begins to come up to what he was told to look like. A rather gigantic truck, parked outside a bar. Well, Birdie can do that. A bar and a weird truck? Sure. He can do that as long as they have some whiskey inside that he can partake in.

And boy is there. When he gets in there, MAD GEAR?! takes up most of the room. He stops right infront of the door, looking for Katana thought the swath of thugs. "Bloody hell... and I have to work with this? Heheh. Well, as long as he ain't a preachy bloke." Birdie states as he begins to push Mad Gear members left and right, moving towards the head of this here club.

And finally getting to Katana, he lifts an eye. Wow, he sure is... Japanese? Wapanese. Birdie has no idea. "You s'posed to be Katana?" He voices.

There's someone .. big. Big enough to make Katana not look like a huge massive mountain. But he's here surely for the beer, the dumb looking idiot! He's clearly not as sharp as the wit of the Shogun, nor is he as strong! Hahhah! This man would certainly be just another thug looking for an into the Mad Gear Gang!

"Why yes, it is I, Katana, leader of the Mad Gear Gang! The strongest gang in all of Metro City, if not the world! Our strength is known far and wide, and we shall one day control Metro City itself! It is the way of the Japanese, which I am! I am sure you have been attracted by our skill and strength." Katana says through the odd mask, taking out a paper fan and idly fanning himself with it.

"But why have you come? The Mad Gear welcomes all, except for those who are with the mayor and the Travers kin. Do tell me, so I will not have to use my blades upon you!" he motions to the jitte hung .. badly on his pants.

"For the mark on my chest proclaims death to all opposition!

Birdie wants to crush Katana. He's a preacher. Struggling with the feeling to ring his neck, he just works through it. It'll be worth it in the end Birdie, all in the end. "Yeah, yeah. Bloke I get'cha. Now, I'm here because of Elle. I'm supposed to help you with your truck and getting the stuff of the bloody ship. You can keep your Japanese stuff as long as you never ask me to join your bloody gang again. Clear?"

Birdie just stays silent after that, bringing his arms up to his chest and letting himself look like Mr. T for about two seconds. "Anyways. I'm guessing that rig outside is yours, if only because it matches you so bloody well." Birdie reaches towards the side and steals a pitcher off the table, raising it and drinking whatever was left of the beer, the rest splashing down him. He doesn't care.

"So we just grab the boxes and throw them in, right?"

That's strangely direct. "Oh the woman. Hahaha, of course! So you wish to know. That's my truck indeed. It's the pride and joy of the Mad Gear Gang!" And then Birdie makes it clear. Well. If he has to work with him for Elle, then that is a promise!

Fanning himself still, Katana goes alongside of the bar, walking along it as he speaks. "Such an honor to be known from our symbol!" He responds back. Insult Katana? Only his honor can be! Otherwise, the words ping off him. But to insult his heritage, then he is angry as a boar! "You are quite quick on the draw, yes! Mad Gear Gang shall flood the ship, and in the confusion we take whatever we can get and go! If there is opposition, then I will take care of it! If you are brave enough as well, you may help, but I can take anything myself! For that is the Japanese honor!"

He poses, raising a blade to the air. "HOOO!"

Birdie could only be direct. He's a thug. He doesn't beat around no bushes like you, Mr. Japan Man.

Birdie also stares at the fan as Katana fans himself. Breaking it would do good to all of humanity. "Yeah. I thought it was yours bloke. It screamed you." He states. He himself is already getting what he wants by just working for Elle, so just doing the job is something he can do to pass the time. "Sure. I'll punch out some goody-two-shoes." Birdie loves doing that.

"So. While your secret club bum rushes the boat, we'll hold the people off. If we have to we'll hold the ship there with some chains we can hook up to your truck." Birdie will provide the chains of course. And the muscle.

The large man also looks up at Katana as he poses. Elle sure has some weeeeeird taste.

"Ohohoohoh. I know! Such a beautiful and valiant truck is all that I could have wanted for the Mad Gear Gang! And it shall exist as long as we shall!" He finishes his pose. "Hah! To think you are as skilled as I am in the dispatching of those who seek justice and truth .. I think not!"

Katana listens to Birdie as he finishes. "Precisely, but I refuse to just let someone I do not know the skill of .. onto my truck! You will show me in battle against Metro City, and you will aid me! The Mad Gear Gang will be involved, but we first wish for you to prove yourself!"

Katana points a jitte towards the large, sharp haired man. "If you will do such, then you will be welcome as a courageous warrior, but if you do not, then I will not have you shame my truck!"

"Metro City ... it must be dealt with first, at least, a single strike against it at this time! Shall you join me in this, with honor, or will you defile the Mad Gear Gang!?" Katana is serious about this, even if it's stupid to anyone else!

Is this guy for real? He looks it, at least, somewhat like the role he's playing. Birdie just goes with it. It's easier to let pass than it is to fight. But then Katana doubts his fighting skill. The man that towers, or at least makes Katana look less freakishly huge, not a warrior?

At least he's talking Birdie's language, or at least another dialect of it. "So to ride in your damn truck I need to bust some heads?" Birdie smirks, a wide toothy grin offered back in response.

"Consider it 'big bloody honor' to you, bloke. I'll help you with this city as long as long as I don't have to walk from that ship." Dropping the pitcher to the floor, Birdie turns around and gets started towards the door as the pitcher shatters. "Alright. Better save me a seat afterwards." He exclaims before leaving the bar, awaiting for Katana. He's going to follow the truck. It's going to look weird. But hell, maybe they won't go too far.

As Birdie heads out, exclaiming such as he leaves the bar, Katana follows Birdie out afterwards. "We will not need to use the truck, no, for our assault will be here! Upon the main life of Metro City!" Katana raises both jitte to the air. "And we shall disrupt it all today!"

The bar is emptied as now a bunch of rough AND drunk thugs begin to pour out of it, out onto the streets and just generally messing up everything. Katana himself is leading them, and as they stop cars to jack them, raid stores for the objects inside, and begin to mug anyone nearby, Katana, himself, is very very pleased.

"You will see first hand the might of Mad Gear! Metro City .... first Down Town.. and then City Hall!" He begins to charge forwards as well. "You will prove yourself in this!" The sandaled, masked, football player like Shogun of Mad Gear is certainly something.

.. He's probably interrupting some things he shouldn't as well.

Birdie pauses, and steps towards the side as he sees the bar begin to shoot Mad Gear henchmen everywhere. It's a nightmare. It's as if the bar shot Mad Gear seeds all over and they took root.

But to Birdie, this was a really well worked out thuggery. "Hah hah hah!" The man laughs, harshly but heartily. "So Mad Gear is pretty useful." He notes that Mad Gear is a great meat shield. So many witless, proactive thugs like himself. It's a great place to be behind.

Birdie follows after Katana, moving with him. Every so often he helps in some wanton destruction, and keeps all the people off the street, if Mad Gear hasn't already catered to that.

"Sounds like a bloody good time, Katana. Bloody good." Birdie says as he goes. Each step for him is loud and thunderous, only deafened by the asphalt.

Metro City is in trouble.
Nothing is exactly out of the ordinary.
The truth of the matter is, Metro City is always in some form of trouble or another, whether it be general acts of criminal violence, or the more subtle influences of crime lords or the various new superdrugs that continue to pop out of the woodwork, such as Glow or Burn. Most of the time, this doesn't really bother Duke... because, most of the time? He's the one behind the scenes, -creating- those problems in something of a long-winded method of eroding the city's defenses. There are sometimes, though, when that trouble -- chaotic trouble, for instance -- is of no use to the man. Sometimes... when it's simply a -problem.-
This happens to be the case as the distinct gang members of Mad Gear begin to flood the streets of downtown. While not an uncommon practice, they made one mistake today; particularly roudy and drunk members of the gang of thugs have taken it upon themselves to disturb the business of Duke. It's a disturbance that they ended up paying for, dearly -- but not before explaining the cause of this so-called problem. Duke's response?
"Mad Gear? ... Worthless rejects."
And it is with that thought in mind that Hell's Executioner makes his presence known out in the streets of downtown, his tall form striding up behind the two equally imposing visages of Birdie and Katana. The Japanophile he recognizes, if only for notoriety. The other? ... He simply assumes him to be another, common thug. And as such, as Duke approaches?
He simply seeks to snap out a single, large hand and grip Birdie by the back of the neck, before literally LIFTING the man's large mass into the air.
"Get out of here if you value your health." It's the only statement he'll give before unceremoniously twisting and seeking to SLAM Birdie through the window of a nearby car. Brutal... but the point is clear.
Hell's Executioner doesn't like people mussing on his playing grounds.

COMBATSYS: Birdie endures Duke's Quick Throw.

Metro city isn't any importance to Birdie. He just needed to cause it trouble so he can ride on Katana's truck. It's a lot to do for something so degrading, but to get up in the world you have to do a lot of what you don't want to do sometimes.

So, Birdie's here. And Duke has appeared. Birdie's a smart man. He knows that Duke is imposingly strong, so he's going to give it all he's got. He'll have to blame Katana's men for this later, if they're still conscious after Duke gets through with them.

But Duke's not after them. He's after Birdie. Birdie's neck is grasped tightly. So tightly that the man flexes his muscles, hardening himself for the next strike. And it comes, Birdie's great figure being crushed throw the window of a car. So powerful it was, his face and chest got cut up. Inside the car, he admired the interior. For a moment, just wasting time.

Once he thinks Duke is no longer looking, or paying attention, he pries himself out of the wreckage, Birdie turns, and begins pounding across the ground towards Duke, head down, the spike on his head pointed right towards him.

Each footstep pounded the ground towards Duke, alerting him, if not the hulking black man's figure, that something bad this way comes. "Take this, ya bloody brute!" He cries.

Well. It looks like there would be others! As someone mentions that Mad Gear is worthless rejects, Katana doesn't need to actually HEAR it. It's loud and clear in his sense that something is off. And that's spread a bit out from as a single form, not of his gangs, begins to approach. And then grab the man, perhaps just as large as him with a monstrous chain as well as him none looking too light either, and then twisting and slamming him through the window of a nearby car.

But Katana .. he merely believes that perhaps Birdie was a light weight. "HAH! Who dares sneak up upon the Mad Gear Shogun!" Katana demands, his jitte up and ready the second he heard the crashing. His entire body shifts to face Duke, looking on towards him as he threatens Birdie.. or perhaps both of them. "You may have tossed him about easily .. but you will not be able to do the same with me!" Katana makes it clear that he is a sucker for punishment. Or, at least, honestly believes that he can do something to the man infront of him.

The jitte pointing upwards as he holds them out infront of him, standing on the edge of the side walk and street, eyes Duke. Sizing him up. But he can't figure out exactly what's his strength. Not can he figure out the man's abilities. He's not good at sizing up, but usually he can just believe the man to be a push over!

Sometimes it just doesn't happen though.

Even if the man IS indeed a threat, Katana will throw himself at full force towards him. "Hahahha! You have come between Mad Gear and victory! You will not be the one left standing, so I will inform you before hand!" The blades are spun once before the man charges at Duke from the opposite direction, his speed slipping into a thrust from the distance between him and Duke, a jitte coming forwards to slash against the man's chest, the other following up.

Duke would see it coming, HEAR it coming. "JIGOKU SCRAPE!"

Katana. Duke might not know who the other man is, but the new leader of Mad Gear has made himself well-known in Metro City, and not necessarily in a good way. It's Duke's job to know about these things, these people -- which means either Birdie is just some common thug... or a newcomer.
Of course, it hardly matters. Smashing the British brute into the nearby car window, Duke hardly flinches or hesitates as he moves forward, advancing with an unconcerned gait towards Katana. "So, all the rumors are true," he mulls, thoughtfully. "You really are just an idiot."
It's clear that Katana isn't going to take the interference of Hell's Executioner laying down, though. And as Katana finally advances, Duke prepares himself to intercept and simply barrel through his attack as if it were nothing... but something gets in the way. Birdie is already up and moving, rushing straight towards the Syndicate lieutenant head-first. Duke's reaction times spare him before the other man can make a full impact, his right hand slamming -backwards- behind him and crashing into Birdie's spiked head, bringing the thug's momentum to a dead-stop.
--Of course, this sets him up poorly for Katana. Instead of halting the other man as intended, he is instead scraped with those blades of the Mad Gear leader. It causes him to stagger, a thin line of red forming across his dark chest... but he offers little more than an unpleasant scowl.
"Stop spewing your useless crap..." As he speaks, Duke lifts up his right leg. Before long, he is slamming it into the ground so -hard- that tremors rip across the ground, to unsettle both Birdie -and- Katana's footings... just as a massive, circular wave of fire blossoms forward from Duke's feet, blazing out in all directions to send both his opponents blasting away. "... and -get out.- GRAAAAAAAGH!!"

COMBATSYS: Duke successfully hits Katana with Seismic Impact.

"Hah! If I were an idiot, I would have quite this long ago! But I am not an idiot.. I am Japanese! And I will fight for Mad Gear, as well as for control of Metro City, until the day I succeed! Nothing can get in my way!" His blades, the jitte slash against the ban, before he realizes that stomp wasn't just of anger .. a circular wave of fire blossoming forwards, Katana readying himself for the worst!

His arms come up but far too late. And Katana is launched upwards, finally crashing down against a newspaper vending machine. They'll need a new one.

But even as the metal smashes into him, Katana coughs once. "You .. are quite the warrior!" Katana speaks up from his state, and brings himself up. He has taken far worse before. But he will not.. refuses to.. give up ever! Bringing himself to his feet, Katana once again moves towards Duke, the jitte spinning as he gets straight up in his face again, and slams them towards the middle of Duke's body!

His style is far from impetuous, his skill is lacking, and while his might makes up for it, what truly does it is his COURAGE. And Duke may just notice, like a fly on rotting fruit, he just keeps coming back FOR MORE.

"Hahah! You will learn Mad Gear's might from me personally, warrior, and honor shall be mine!"

Sure. Katana MIGHT be a gigantic idiot at times, but his strength comes more from his will! .. It certainly doesn't come from his luck.

As Duke's mighty hand comes down and stops the spiked head of Birdie, and Birdie already know's something is coming. Putting up his hands to block whatever is coming quick, Duke's only going to keep thinking he's a common thug. At least, for now. He's happily letting Katana take most of the hate. Birdie just has to tough it out.

Once Duke does react to the attacks, the circular wave of fire pushes Birdie backwards, the block guarding his head and his bling, but his body burns more than it really should, especially the legs. The chi hurts, but Birdie's just waiting.

He looks towards Duke, and he just begins to hold on, waiting for him to move. After you watch Duke slam into the ground and send out a wave of fire so easily, you'll want to watch more too. "We ain't goin' nowhere, bloke."

"Sorry, I forgot," Duke laments caustically in the aftermath of that horrific burst of fire, shoving a single hand into his pocket.
"There's no point in arguing with someone who's not on my level."
Keeping an unparalleled degree of calm, Hell's Executioner stands in patient wait for his two opponents. It seems that Birdie is lament to come at him, which is fine for Duke; he'll humor the big brute and give him a chance to rest. Instead, the Syndicate brawler pits his focus upon Katana, his eyes narrowing as the man rushes towards him. He comes, but as he does...
... Duke is running -right for him-.
Barreling across the distance at a remarkable blur of speed, the mobster lashes out with his right hand, gripping Katana solidly by the throat before he can even touch Duke. The jitte only barely scrapes his middle, offering no expression of pain or even mild irritation before a massive fist drives into Katana's padded middle in a single, stunning punch. "GRAAAGH!" This is followed up by an uppercut, at which point Katana is released to go soaring into the air... just before Duke SLAMS into him with his powerful right fist in a single, mighty wind-up punch that crushes into the Mad Gear Gang leader's sternum, intent to send him rocketing backwards.

As Birdie watches Duke beat up Katana, he flashes a big dumb grin a moment. Damn that Katana. Sometimes he can be such a fool.

And sometimes people like Birdie come along, and try to kick people when they're down. Now, Duke is certainly far from down, but he's going to try to change that. As Duke thrashes out at Katana, Birdie looks for an opening, and goes.

Throwing himself into the air, gracefully, or at least trying to be, Birdie floats through the air with the greatest of ease before landing right behind Duke. He should hear the massive landing that Birdie supplies, as well a the shock.

Either way, Birdie tries to grab Duke and gouge him in the chest with the horn on his head. And if it connects, he'll shove Duke hard as he lifts his head. "EEEEEYAAAAH!" He cries, as he puts a good deal of effort into it.

Things aren't always so good for Katana. They usually end badly actually. AND PERHAPS this is exactly what happens when Duke crashes straight into Katana. Katana charges against him, but instead, what happens is that Duke drives a massive fist into Katana's middle, uppercutting him to the sky, falling and then getting a gigantic punch to the Mad Gear Shogun's sternum. Wherever that is.

Still, the Mad Gear Shogun slams into a cement wall, his body almost imprinting into it, before he pulls himself up from the wall. It's hard to, but the Mad Gear Shogun never says die. Even, really, if he should. But as he pulls himself off, seemingly almost peeling himself from the wall.

And coughing, he looks towards Duke. "You ... DARE DEFY THE SHOGUN!" He says, although it's weaker than he could have said it. His body is pretty badly crushed and smashed at this point.

"MEIDO!" He yells out, slashing towards Duke from the other side again, his hand whipping up towards Duke with one of the Jitte, "NO!" He continues with the other blade, attempting to just slide into him to slam it against his body. He doesn't care for his own safety at all!

And if the final slash strikes, he'd launch Duke up into the air with all his might to leap up and stab downwards into the ground with him!

"MIYAGE!"

At the very least, the pair Duke is facing today has -staying- power. That says something to their credit. Strangely enough, the seemingly bigger and more brutish of the two seems to be more capable than Mad Gear's leader. The fact that he stays back and -thinks- instead of charging in again says something to Hell's Executioner. He might prove to be more of a problem than Katana... and so, Duke pits his focus on the British lug.
And likely for good reason. The massive thug comes far faster than the brawler would have expected. Grabbed, he finds the Brit suddenly thrusting himself forward with intent to gore Duke with that spikey head of his. Instead... Duke -thrusts- his forearm foreward, greeting and -halting- Birdie's attack before it can slice into him and send him flying. "-HMPH-." Giving a single shove, Duke seeks to push the man out of the way...
... just in time for Katana to come rushing in. This time, Duke can't prepare himself readily before the Shogun of Mad Gear begins to slash wildly with those blades of his. LAUNCHED into the air, thin trails of bright crimson blood follow after Duke from the series of shallow wounds Katana has inflicted, all coming to a head with that last downward stab that sends Hell's Executioner crashing into the ground with a -boom- of impact that makes the ground tremble. But... is it over?
"... GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!"
Of course not.
Within moments after Katana's attack has finished, Duke is already thrusting himself bodily out of the cracked earth, his body wreathed with flames. He lifts a single hand upwards towards the air, clenched tightly into a fist. There is no warm up, no build up. Duke just swings that fist -straight- down... and literally PUNCHES the concrete beneath him.
Which is just about when the ground explodes.
The area in a wide sweep around Duke -ignites- the second that his fist makes contact with the earth, BURSTING into a blazing storm of chi-laden fire that will likely consume not only Birdie and Katana, but some unfortunate Mad Gear thugs who have the misfortune of being in the way -- a blazing inferno that threatens to burn Birdie and Katana alive. "HRRRRRRAAAAARGH!!!"

Well. That hurt.

As Duke thrusts himself out of the cracked earth, slamming the concrete beneath him, Katana is caught within the burning storm that consume's Katana, some of the thugs, and the ground under him. Katana has never been good at chi. He never will be. There's very little he can do to make himself effective against it.

But then, if you ever count Katana out, you are a fool.

Being launched almost back into time, Katana goes flying. Perhaps.. PERHAPS HE IS DEAD. No. He lands, slamming straight through the ceiling of the truck, and with his last act of strength, thrusts himself forwards, putting his body to push the clutch forwards. And then his body collapses onto the gas.

There's nothing better than a Katana weight for your truck to go go GO.

And well, Duke has overturned the ground nicely. This still doesn't make Katana care.. at all, really. He's on the gas pedal, at least, his head is. There's not much he's going to do at this point.

But the truck's lights are on, and it's going at one speed. FAST. At Duke, who is likely recoiling a bit from his immense blast of energy. There is no horn. There is only lights, a semi-truck barreling straight for Duke, and speed.

BUT IT IS SPEED OF HONOR AND JAPANESE, the semi covered in various designs along the back side. THERE WILL BE HONOR.. or failure, actually. And it'll keep going until it rams a wall. Or Duke. Or maybe Duke IS a wall.

Duke's doing a lot of thrusting to keep Birdie off him. He might be weak to that. But you'll never know. Still, it does manages to keep him away from getting gored something fierce by Birdie's assault. And then Birdie goes flying instead of Duke, throwing him towards the ground with surprising ease. The large thug skids across the ground until his head connects with a tire of a car, the blade cutting it and letting out all air.

Slowly getting up, Birdie's finding out that Duke's got something harsh coming on. As he screams Birdie prepares to block, no, to just weather the storm, running towards Duke without even thinking.

As Duke swings at the concrete beneath him, there is where everything goes bad. The ground bursts up into the air, upheaving everything with a blazing storm of chi laden fire. Birdie charges right in, his body getting slowly by the attack, but even still, he's pushing through. Making head way has a toll though. His body burns from the fire, the pieces of cement battering him as he weathers it, just trying to get to Duke.

And once he's through, there's no time to waste. A huge hand reaches out for Duke, aiming to grab him and give him several consecutive fast paced headbutts, one after the other before, arms reaching out to pummel Duke in the chest with hammer blow after hammer blow by using the chain as a buffer. It's still red hot, and all for Duke. To end it all, Birdie explodes into Duke, trying to set him up for something, by pushing him with the bull horn on his head.

That...
... that has to be the most ridiculous thing Duke has ever seen.
The chi storm dies within moments of its conception, rubble and boulders of concrete crashing into the ground, along with a few scattered, burnt corpses. Standing up amongst the ruined earth, Hell's Executioner simply scoffs, pressing a large hand to his scarred neck. The tips of his fingers roam the length of that scar in something of a bad habit, an unfriendly scowl crossing his lips. "Now get out of here--"
And that's when a gigantic semi-truck comes barreling Duke's way.
"... What the hell is this supposed to be?"
It's the only question that Duke can afford as, for one rare moment in his life, the gangster's eyes actually show signs of disbelief. Shock, even. His mouth is slightly agape before it firms itself. "Blades, semi-trucks... no matter what you use..." And then, those blaring headlights advance, and in one smooth movement... Duke -leaps- out of the way, just barely maneuvering himself from the car's vicious path before it can Run His Ass Over, as it were.
"... you're still a loser."
Landing in a tumble, this unfortunately puts Duke straight in the path of the rampaging Birdie. Ill-prepared for what is to come, Duke is beaten with a rather surprisingly -strong- series of blows before he can steel himself to take them all. The headbutts crack into his nose and face, sending spurts of blood flying free into the air as he is assaulted, blow after blow, by Birdie's vicious strength -- aided by that steaming hot chain. In the aftermath, Duke wobbles, footing uneasy... just in time for Birdie to CRASH into him with that sudden -thrust- of his horn, sending Hell's Executioner crashing into a wall.
A position that, perhaps unfortunately for Birdie, Duke doesn't keep for long. Remaining steadfast and tall, within a matter of seconds the Syndicate brawler is shoving himself straight off the ground, making a mad rush towards the large thug. His right hand snaps forward, seeking once more to get a hold of Birdie's throat...

Grasped, Duke clenches -firmly- onto Birdie's throat, with such ferocity one might think he's trying to choke him. And, for a moment, the brutal enforcer does cut off the large Brit's air supply, just as he begins to lift the thug into the air. "You're a bit better than your friend, aren't you," he breathes out, curiously. "And you're not part of Mad Gear... who are you?"
Of course, Duke doesn't afford Birdie time to make a response. Instead, with a sudden twist, the would-be crimeboss SLAMS the huge man into the ground with an explosion of rubble. He releases then, but only for a moment... because soon enough? Duke is -slamming- his heel into Birdie's sternum, grinding his foot into the large man's chest with an overwhelming brutality. He continues to apply force, more and more of it, pushing Birdie further and further into the ground... until it all becomes -so great- that the British man will suddenly find himself -- against -all- laws of physics -- simply EXPLODING into the air on a path straight away from Duke.

Birdie sees it all. Duke get out of the way of the Semi, and then, blam, right into his way. After taking advantage, Birdie's not really big into waiting to see what happens. A fatal mistake in this case. Birdie's neck tightens as Duke gets a nice, powerful hold on him. And then, placing him down, begins to run on him, over and over and over again.

The blows of Duke's feet hurt, crushing into his head, his body, anything that Duke's throwing at him. It's painful as anything. Grunting and trying to get away, he can't really do anything except take it, but when he's flung away, and Birdie's traveling fast, like a bird, he's got one last shot, and he's damn well going for it.

Whipping out the chain as he comes back, he aims to wrap it around Duke's leg and pull tightly, trying to send the large man down towards the air with him, and maybe even onto his face when he falls, with his own momentum.
"You... bloody deserve that... bloke." He breathes heavily before loosing all of his ability to actually fight.

Of all the things to go awry.
Duke expects Birdie to come at him again. He would be surprised if the big man hadn't. But, apparently, Duke fails to at which angle the attack is going to come... and just how -fast- it swings out at him. His body twisting as he sees that chain coming for him, Duke's hands sweep downward in an attempt to simply smash the length of metal into the dirt--
--but he's just too slow. Taken by the leg, Duke suddenly finds himself swinging through the air before sent crashing -harshly- into the dirt with a sudden, brutal slam that cracks the concrete beneath him. "... hmph..."
It's a long moment before Duke can pull himself upwards from the dirt. Blood pools around him, dripping from his lips and nose as he drags himself up. Unable to continue fighting, but still conscious, Duke slaps a single, large hand against the burnt-out carcass of a nearby car and pulls himself up onto his feet with a wobbling stagger. "... we'll... have to meet again..." he mumbles to himself as he limps off. The ferocity with which Birdie fought has impressed Duke. It's only a matter of time, then, until they meet again... after all.
There's little that goes on in his city that Duke does not inevitably find out.

Birdie, well, stays where Duke threw him, cracking harshly against the ground, blood pooling around him where he landed. Much of his injuries are chi burns, so he's going to getup sooner or later, but first, he's going to take a nap.

As long as Mad Gear is around, he is sure he can, at least, count to wake up. If he was turned Japanese though, it could get ugly.

No, don't even think about it Katana.

Somewhere in Metro City, there is a gigantic truck in a wall.

It's wheels are spinning, but the building is larger. Somehow.

But he'll be rescued, and so will Birdie. Don't worry, Birdie, you'll probably wake up before Katana does.
