Yurika - Sheer Fabric

Description: I forgot to mention Yurika challenged Ninon in the last scene. And so they do battle here. Much to the DSC members delight, she ends up impressing Ninon in battle, and vice-versa, resulting in Yurika seeing something she can use from Ninon and offering an alliance. (Contains lots of punches to the face and Gothic Attacks.)

And so the battle was set in stone. Things should go as planned, if one were Yurika Kirishima. The musician was worried that Yurika's fighting prowess might get a little too much exposure, which in her opinion would not be good for her presidential run- That and amongst other reasons were why she had set the match to take place in a quiet, dark, but peaceful forest in the northwest.

And really, if it turned out that Ninon was capable of leaving craters in the ground, that'd just be plain bad.

It seems to be falling into noon, and while it's still a hot summer day, the clouds are heavy and not giving the sun a real chance to shine within the area. Obviously there are tree's everywhere, plenty and plenty of green, with the ocassional cleared out areas that is occupied by just tall grass. Yurika stands on an offbeaten path, sitting on a large stone- It should be of note she never specified exactly where in the forest to meet, but should Ninon decide to follow the music of the deep-brown violin, tragic as it is beautiful, she should find the musician clad in blue and white.

There wasn't much on her mind as of late, whenever she played, all her worries simply vanished. No crazy brothers, brother-stealing hussies, or the general annoyance of uncouth fighters chewing with their mouth open. Bliss indeed.

She had been looking forward to this since the moment Yurika had left her room.
The life of Ninon Beart is one that is frequently filled with boredom. Part of her reason, though it wasn't the main one, for coming to Southtown was to alleviate that boredom. For the most part it hadn't been working. She found herself surrounded in people that annoyed her to no end. Nothing interesting ever came her way, and the few fights that she had been in had proven only mildly entertaining. She had convinced herself that she had not been defeated at all, instead 'allowing her opponent to leave', out of some sort of twisted, arrogant sense of kindness. Thus, in her own head, she'd been wasting her time in Southtown so far.
But tonight promised to be different. This girl, this 'Yurika' had seemed so very confident that Ninon would want to meet with her. She seemed to have no doubts in herself whatsoever. It may be merely Yurika's own arrogance, but in the end it was enough to peek Ninon's interest. Was the girl merely a fool, or did she have what it took to hold her own? The black-clad witch intended to find out.
You'd never know those sorts of thoughts flowed through her head merely by looking at her, however. She had pointedly ignored everyone who'd attempted to get her attention while she made her way to the appointed meeting place. While she hadn't actually cared enough to learn that Yurika played the violin, she had no other way to find the girl so she merely followed where the notes lead her. Fortunately, it was the right idea. It would of been embarrasing to have to face her in school the next day and tell her she had merely been unable to find her. She makes no effort to keep herself hidden and strolls right into plain view. "I do hope you have not had to wait too long."

Could it also be that, perhaps, Ninon was /drawn/ toward the music? If anyone asked, Yurika could prattle on and on about how music is a language of the soul, and that it can reach out to anyone and even speak in its own subtle way.. But that's neither here nor there.

Yurika wants to be interesting, luckily she doesn't have to try hard to do so at all, and like many other fighter-types, if she doesn't want to be seen, she usually can't be either. Her thoughts on Ninon? It's already been said she's very interested in the 'witch'. There was a moment of worry when she thought there was a chance of Ninon not showing up and making a fool out of her the next day.

But then there is the girl clad in black, her music playing comes to an end, and she greets Ninon with a small smile. She glances to her pocket watch; it's been three hours, but that's because she was early. "Not very long at all. A pleasure to see you again, Miss Beart, your sister has decided not to watch and learn?"
Yurika slips off of the stone, maryjanes hitting the hard ground lightly.

Of course Ninon really didn't care one way or another. Nor was she trying to be polite. She merely wanted to see how the other girl reacted to her being less hostile then she had been when they had previously spoken. She's slightly disappointed by the fact that Yurika seems to act no different herself. The disappointment, of course, doesn't show on her face. It is nothing more then a mask of calmness and cynicism. "My 'dear' sister has no idea I am here. Keeping things from her is quite simple, mainly because the same word can be used to describe her mind. I would not want her here to interrupt our fun." Her mask breaks slightly into a less then friendly smile. "Because I assume you didn't invite me all the way out here simply to engate in charming conversation, hmm?"

Absolutly no change, no. The politeness of Ninon, while suprising, wasn't enough to make her drop her violin and demand to know where the real Ninon was. In fact, one might even think she wasn't 'fooled'. But her small smile will one day be known as legendary, with how unoften it's shaken. "Most certainly not, of course.. Right down to business, I see, though I shouldn't be suprised."

Yurika takes a few paces away from Ninon, her back to the girl for a moment as she stares up at the shaking, hevily leaved branches above them. "They say, that you can learn a lot about your opponent by fighting them. I do wonder if you are as... Trying as you always seem to be. I suppose I shall find out soon enough, won't I?"

Yurika turns around then, her slender violin bow pointed then to her gothloli opponent, like one would hold a fencing sword. "Fun. Well.. Yes, I suppose it is possible this match could end up 'fun'." She won't comment about Mignon. It's evident at this point that Ninon is not fond of her sister. "I shall allow you the first strike then. En garde!"

Of course she was just faking. Ninon sees no reason to be polite to anyone, ever. If she can't get what she wants through force, it is hardly worth the effort to attain it through 'kindness'. That is not the way of Ninon Beart. "I suspect you will not be disappointed, Yurika Kirishima. I hope that I can expect the same from you. My time in this city has been a waste as of yet. Make my evening worthwhile."
If Yurika hadn't offered her the first blow, she would of done her best to take it anyway. Her first act is to demonstrate her 'magic'. She thrusts an arm outwards, her fingers clenched into a claw. Energy crackles along that hand before launching itself outwards in the form of a large ball of what appears to be electricity. "Let us see how you handle the inheritence of the Beart family, Kirishima!"

Yurika didn't know that much, though really if this had been a different situation, she too, would be one to look for the first blow; which would also be the very last in lesser circumstances. The musicians dark eyes seem to grow darker still, the girl making no effort to get rid of her instrument.

However she can't hide the fact she's impressed, the energy really does look magical in execution. But as the orb sails toward her, Yurika begins to play. It's a very serene, delightful piece, and as she stands one on foot and twirls in a circle, the similarly unusual chi blinks to life, a 'ribbon' of musical energy twirls about her that clashes with a moment with the opponents. But it cannot break through her wall, and with a point forward of her bow, the upside-down tornado shoots toward Ninon! "If you leave this match unimpressed, I would be shameing the Kirishima name. And I simply cannot allow that."

The counterattack is completely and utterly unexpected.
It's all Ninon can do to get her hands in front of her before the whirlwind hits her. It isn't enough to take her off her feet, and it doesn't seem to cause her much harm, but it DID catch her by surprise. She had honestly expected her opponent to believe herself capable solely because she was 'special' in school. The fact that it seems this is not so pleases her, at least once she's recovered from the surprise counter attack. "Hmmm. So you ARE a fighter after all. And such an unusual technique as well. Interesting. Let's see how you handle this. I have more talents aside from my sorcery, though it is my preferred manner of dealing with my opponents." Perhaps weary of having another 'spell' turned against her, she instead charges for a more frontal assault, performing a pair of flipping kicks. The first is a forward flip designed to smack Yurika upside the head. The second is a backwards flip to hit her face while she's still recovering from the first.

So it would seem Yurika was correct? Ninon certainly seems to be learning more about Yurika right away; though for the musician, she's not really gaining anything just yet. Though one could argue that Ninon being impressed is rewarding enough, she's not here to boast, but to learn.

Hand-to-hand combat is a bit suprising as well, as the Lady in Black performs the first overhead kick, the musician sways slightly to the side, and then the second, she twirls around completely so her dress flows out like a bell- And positions her behind the witch. "I see. Is it a martial art?" She feels she has the edge there, since Yurika has a weapon. If Ninon isn't fast enough, she'll feel the sharp crack of the weapon slamming into the back of her neck, and then jamming into her spine. For such a flimsy looking weapon, it could easily be compared to having the strength of a kendo stick!

Unfortunately, Ninon proves to be a poor teacher. She's concerned with what she wants, what she thinks, and this is perhaps her most exploitable weakness. The gothic-clad girl has no chance to respond before she finds the counterattack coming her way. If anyone is learning anything from the fight it is her, and that is that she shouldn't underestimate someone merely judging by their looks. Yurika looks like a weakling, but so far, she has been able to hold her own against the arrogant witch.
Ninon doesn't allow herself to express any pain verbally as first her neck and then spine are jabbed. She has far too much pride to show any weakness from such a pitiful attack. She doesn't even bother turning before answering. "Something like that. I find the martial arts less tasteful then my sorcery, but I cannot deny their uses."
Then, before her opponent can further punish her, she flips backwards, showing surprising agility for someone in an outfit like, and reachs down to attempt to grab hold of the other girl's shoulders. And then, if she does so, she'll drive one of her booted feet into the back of one of Yurika's knees.

Yurika isn't makes any change to her expression either, really. It should be quite clear that seeming to gain the advantage or not, she's simply not enjoying the battle. For her it is, as they say on the internet 'serious business'. She really should take a chill pill; though on the other hand, Ninon seems to be taking it just as seriously- Though on the other hand does she /ever/ not look rather stone-faced? Really, it's like dealing with Aislinn when they had first met. She's almost worried she won't learn much at all, but luckily for her Ninon does speak again.

The musician is slipped behind, but her movements are just as fluid and graceful at the beginning, the foot meets the back of her knee, and she's brought doward to touch the dirty ground, though not nearly as long as her opponent would like. "I could see that actually, though I do prefer swordsmanship myself. I'd rather not touch my opponents with my hands much more than I have to." You never know where they've been, after all. Once Yurika stands again she leaps upward to stand atop the stone she was sitting on previously, and raises her pointer finger to her lips; her rather weird smile growing a bit wider.

Even with the attack mostly thwarted, it's enough to bring Ninon into a better mood. She was beginning to feel as if she might not be able to take control of things. But this girl is just another opponent. Nothing to worry about. "I suppose I can agree to some extent, though I find the use of weaponry even more distasteful then being forced to supplement my sorcery with my own two hands." Banter aside, she rushes for her opponent, a short hop clearing the distance between the ground and Yurika's stone perch, and aims her foot for the other girl's chest. For someone claiming to be a witch, she hasn't shown much in the way of witchcraft so far.

"Hmn, is that so," Yurika murmurs back. It's not really that suprising, though.. She could see why weaponry would be frowned upon, wherase she sees it as perfectly 'lady-like' in some ways. In Yurika's case, she doesn't have much choice, without an instrumental source, it's much more difficult to perform her techniques; she's actually very bad at singing. "Depending on the circumstance, I find it quite elegant. But that's simply my opinion."
As Yurika had hoped, Ninon would come rushing toward her, giving her plenty of time to react. It's a very simple motion, the girl slipping to the side and ultimatly leaps off of the stone and against the wood of a nearby tree, her maryjanes hitting it hard.

In almost a blink of an eye she's springing off of the try and swinging down harshly in an attempt to hit Ninon over the head, "Un!!" Once she lands, the combo is continued with an upward slash, "Deux!!" which is finalized with a twirl and downward flash to knock the gothloli flat onto the ground, "Trois!"

This time Ninon knows that the girl and her unorthodox weapon can be dangerous, however. She had anticipated knocking Yurika from her perch, but is prepared when she fails to do. Blocking the weapon barehanded does sting somewhat, but it's hardly something the witch cannot handle. The first block she blocks with her left arm, the second the right, and she evades the last hit with a quick backflip. Her arms cross in front of her nearly the moment she finds herself back on her feet. "Perhaps. Some people require them to defend themselves. Originally, I had thought of taking up a blade. But in the end, I wanted to know that it was my own power that was defeating my enemies. If not, then what good is victory?" She stands at a short distance, not rushing back into the fray immediantly. It hadn't worked so well so far.

"Excuse me? That's interesting, I had never really considered the meaning of victory to hold that kind of depth. You either win or you lose, someone gains something, the other loses something. Weapon or no, you achieve the satisfaction of not being the loser. I didn't expect you to be one to ponder such a trivial thing." Disappointed? Not at all, in fact it makes Yurika wonder if she's missing some sort of point. She does, after all, have a bit of an unusual sense of honor herself, it just doesn't go to that level.

It would appear Ninon is hanging back for a moment, which works out decently well enough for Yurika. She reaches back to her giant pink ribbon and draws out a small tuning fork. Tapping violin so it resonates, she draws her hand back then whips it forward, the fork-ends pointing in the direction of Ninon, with suprising skill. It may or may not hurt very much, but the technique itself should leave the gothloli stunned for a moments time.

"We are very different people, you and I. There is more to battle then simply winning it. The manner in WHICH you win it, that carries as much worth as the victory itself. I do not want a hollow victory. I want my opponent to know that I fought them with nothing more then what I am capable of, and that it was enough to defeat them." Yurika has a habit of using unusual weapons, doesn't she? "Speaking of which, I suppose I owe you another example of my power. It is what I am here for, hmmm?" The tossed tuning fork never makes it anywhere near Ninon. With a elegant twirl, she whips one hand out in front, and the air seems to answer her call as a near invisible energy ripples in the air between Ninon and Yurika. The first victim is the poor, cute little tuning fork. If there will be any others remains to be seen!

Oops, Ninon's counter-attack wasn't something that Yurika had really anticipated. At least, not so soon. She was convinced that much like herself there was more preperation needed to make the fullest of ones supernatural techniques; perhaps she thought incorrectly? The wave, is it different from the first, the girl simply can't remember in an unusual lapse of memory.

"I do not disagree that we're different, it probably wouldn't be as interesting otherwise." She doesn't use her music to counteract, instead holds up her bow defensivly and leans back slightly as the energy slams into the block and push her back so her feet scuff the ground. It did feel.. Slightly unusual, no particular element that she could compare off the top of her head. "You do realize that a 'hollow victory' is purely psychological.." Yurika notes, "Mind you I am not supporting the act of cheating, there has to be a line somewhere. Also, that was an impressive technique."
Yurika makes an effort to dash forward again, or rather to do so in a way to get to Ninon unprepared. It may work, it may not, but when she swipes upward, the hard part of her bow tries to catch Ninon under the chin. Should she manage that, Ninon would find herself lifted off of her feet and then whipped to the side against the nearest tree. "Oh well."

The attack is only partially successful.
Ninon has no intention of simply standing there and accepting the smite without doing anything about it. She withdraws her hand before it can be hurt and attempts to step aside. She's only half successful. Instead of being struck under the chin, she is instead scraped across the cheek. It's painful, surprisingly so for such an odd weapon, but not enough to make Ninon lose her focus. The follow-up attack is stopped with one hand. "I am ever so glad that you approve." She's hurt, but she won't be showing it so easily. "But I cannot show you all my tricks so soon. Instead, I offer you this." Her gift is one that no one would want to recieve, a punch to the face. It isn't gift-wrapped, though.

Good little girls do not really enjoy getting punched in the face, some might argue it would need to be avoided on many occassions. However, being a bit of a tactician, Yurika can see that a bit of sacrifice could help her keep the upper hand this match.

"Interesting, I thought I had worn out your guard at that point.. And I'm quite fine with keeping a smooth pace, I do enjoy novels.." Specificaly romance. And on occassion even the trashy ones. As for gifts no one wants to receive, Yurika acts like she does! The punch flies it and it makes a landing right into her cheek, though it doesn't send her staggering to the side or falling helplessly to the floor. No, it's a near lightining quick reaction, like hitting a tetherball, Yurika makes a complete three-sixty, and seemingly out of annoyance she makes her very first display of unlady-like. Instead of striking with her weapon, this time she seeks to slug Ninon right back with a closed backhand fist.
Clearly she didn't like the gift. Yes, she is a pro in slap fights, too.

The black-clad girl's reflexes prove quick enough to anticipate the counterattack even as it is happening. Unfortunately they aren't superhuman enough to keep her unscathed in the ensuing scuffle. Ninon had intended to leap over the girl and boot her from behind, but she's only partially successful in that. She does manage to get herself off her feet, but this just means that she's smacked in mid-air. Thus, what was intended to be a graceful counterattack ends instead with Ninon simply falling torwards Yurika. That's one big pile of EGL there.

Yurika wasn't expecting that at all. Ninon isn't just getting all up in Yurika's grill, she's doing so with the intent of laying the serious hurt. In mid-strike, the musician is just left so utterly confused that she can't even really register what is going on. But in the end she's collapsing to the ground in a heap, with Ninon proving she may need to take it a little easy no the snacks, because the crash knocks the wind out of her briefly. "Oof!"

Yurika manages to roll free, a shocked expression on her face, her upper lip twitches a little, and then.. Wait for it. Wait for it...

Yurika giggles.

It's a very very short one, that is probably the first time she had ever laughed in amusement in battle. Even more suprising to herself since it hurt. She quickly regains her stature though, wiping the smile off her face and once she's up, again seeks to inflict some more pain on Ninon. It may be inspired from the witch, but when Yurika leaps upward, she tries to land on Ninons shoulders, and then flip so sharply that it slams the student face first into the ground, and then she'd stomp down onto Ninon's back, and right back off.
Luckily she is wearing her short pantaloons.

That dress hides more then Ninon's sinister personality, it also hides her snack-lovin' tummy. Make fun of it at your own risk, because even Ninon enjoys a piece of chocolate here and there, however much she may hide this fact from her sister, and the rest of the universe for this matter. She is not, however, fat. Far from it, really! You should be ashamed of yourself, Yurika. It is clearly YOUR fault for having weak bones! Or something.
A look somewhere between embarrassed and annoyed crosses her face as she brings herself to her feet. Or, rather, as she TRIES to bring herself to her feet. Yurika gives her the ol' Mario impression, and she's flattened as if she was wearing a turtle shell. Maybe she'll be lucky and find a 1-up on her trip to the Mushroom Kingdom?
She doesn't stay down, though. She isn't going to be defeated by this foolish girl. She doens't even understand what victory MEANS, she hasn't earned the right to claim it. "So glad to give you a moment's amusement." She finally regains her composure after climbing to her feet a second time. "I trust you find this amusing? I have only one thing to say about that." And that one thing is punch to the face!

The musicians cheeks redden, and there's no hiding the embarassment of Ninon calling out Yurika's slip-up. She clears her throat, her dark eyes for a moment averting to the side, "There was.. Something in my throat.." she murmurs rather lamely. As for not knowing the meaning of victory, well, Yurika felt she made it clear she has nothing to gain from winning- Other than the win itself. It's the fight itself in which she's gaining what she wants.

But that's neither here nor there, as Ninon comes forth with another punch to Yurika's pretty face, the side of her hand is met by Yurika's violin bow, which redirects the blow completely, quite clear if her lovely visage. This time there's no annoyed comeback, however she still is going to return the favor in a rather nasty manner, she moving to slap her weapon across Ninon's cheek this time.
She's quite subtly requesting to stop aiming at her face.

Ninon doesn't like having her face beat either, but you don't hear her complaining. She knew what she was getting into when she came here, and that was a fight. Not to the death, of course, but a fight nonetheless. "Something, hmm? Was it your tongue?" It wasn't a very good joke, but she didn't have time to think with the girl coming at her face like that. Being witty is less important then keeping her nose unbroken. She brings a hand up to deflect the attack, a hand that glimmers with a pinkish aura. A moment later, the same aura envelopes her entire body, and she vanishes from sight to appear on the stone that Yurika had been waiting on when the fight had begun. "Hm hmmm. Yurika Kirishima, there is certainly more to you then you let the sheep at Seijyun see. Tell me, why did you really come to me? You do not seem to be completely devoid of the ability to defend yourself. I find it difficult to imagine you have a casual interest in my abilities. So tell me...." Suddenly, she vanishes again, only to reappear directly in front of Yurika. Perhaps it is respect for the abilities the other girl has shown that drives her to aim her blow away from the musicians face. "....Why?"

"Quite perceptive, Ninon. But you knew after the first time you met me that I do not lay out all my cards on the table from the very beginnin-." Did Ninon just vanish? Yurika lets the comment about her tongue slide for now, not that she has much choice as she has to twirl to find her girl in black once more.... Though that was a rather uneccessary jab, but she's getting used to it. "There is a reason for what I allow my classmates to see and what I do not. I do not wish to share that reason just yet.. But you're half correct, I'm quite interested in your abilities, but also in yoursel.... f?"
Ninon vanishes a second time, but it's absolutly nothing like her own ninjitsu- Yurika would be impressed, but something tells her Ninon is going to aim for the face, which means that she's going to attempt to do the same. Though something like that is difficult to time when you can't see when Ninon will appear and the blow hits her, right in the mush, and after she goes stumbling back a few steps, a moment later a bit of blood trickles from her nose.

Yurika cannot hide the annoyance, it's so much so that she can't even bring herself to immedietly counter-attack. ".. I believe at the moment the time for talk is over, Miss Beart."

"Hm hmm. Is it? How boring. I was so enjoying our little conversation." A smile touches her face. "But if you say that time for talk is over, who am I to tell you that you are wrong? You are the one that invited me to this little party, hmmm? I suppose, then, that I shall stop holding back on you. You've earned the right to be taken seriously, and I intend to show you how serious I can be." She leaps backwards, her booted feet clicking softly against the bark of a tree banch. "It is quite interesting that you chose a forest for us to fight in. Interesting, but perhaps unfortunate for you. I suspect you shall have a difficult time getting away from this. Even if I don't hit you, the trees may. If you manage to escape from this unscathed, I can truely say that you have earned my respect. It is something I have yet to give to anyone in this city, so work hard to earn it, won't you? I don't want to find you as disappointing as the other children this city has to offer." What follows is likely to be noticed by more then just Yurika.
Ninon leaps from her tree-top perch, and simply refuses to fall to the ground. "Allow me to show you one of my more complex spells, Yurika Kirishima. Consider yourself honored to be able to see it." An blood-red aura wraps around the girl, holding her in the air as if gravity meant nothing to her. She lifts a hand over her head, and suddenly twirls about in mid-air. The result is a blast of fiery energy that looks almost like a tiny meteorite.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the one, however. But it isn't. Time and time again the girl unleashes the fiery blasts as a literal hailstorm of fire fills the little forest clearing. Even if Yurika herself is not a casualty, the trees certainly are, the force of the blasts more then enough to blast them into splinters.
Yes, Yurika, Ninon CAN leave craters in the ground.

The musicians rather straight-laced expression remains. Raising a glove to her nose, ends up leaving a red stain on said glove and inwardly there's further annoyance. However what can she do besides complete the fight? Not much, really.

Yurika's eyes remain settled on her opponent, even when she slips up to the tree, and takes in the young witches speech. It would figure that the witch would believe that Yurika is out of her element. But she doesn't state that she's actually quite at home.

And then comes the spell enchantment, powerful in execution, that much is for sure. But as it comes into creation, the musician finds it to be absolutly nothing like she's ever seen before! ".. What... -Is- that..?" She asks to herself, but there isn't any time for verbal answer- The spell is coming right for her, and thus puts Yurika in for the test of her life.

Yurika settles her violin bow onto her instrument and begins to play- The music somehow drawing in the feeling of an oncoming storm, her eyes draw shut and when the first 'meteor' strikes, it slams down into what is revealed to be a much brighter, ribbon of music. She twirls in place again, the quarter notes, rests, and half notes twirling along as well, the energy managing to withstand each and every brutal blow, that not only causes that crater, but for trees to come crashing down, one after the other until five of them seem to collapse as well.
But the topmost tree bursts into two halves, the upside down cone of technicolor musical energy flies toward Ninon like a drill, most likely to her very very suprise, Yurika managing to climb atop the debris panting heavily and sweating profusely.... Yet unscathed by the carnage.

For a moment, Ninon, still floating in mid-air within that aura, wonders if she went too far. She hadn't intended to KILL the Kirishima girl, only spook her a little and possibly maim her a bit. But will all those trees falling on top of her, can there be any doubt that her injuries are worse then the witch had intended?
Apparently so.
She hadn't expected her opponent to have to power to even withstand her assault, but to survive it and actually counterattack. "Ha ha! HA HA HA! Good! Very good! I cannot deny that you are skilled, Kirishima!" The midair girl seems like a floating target waiting to be struck down. This is, of course, not the case. "You have far exceeded my expectations. You are more then amusing, you have genuine ability! BUT!" She seems unconcerned as the musical doom flies her way. "I said you have to escaped unscathed to earn my respect, girl This is not over yet!"
The aura around her changes from a blood red into a nearly transparent white. It whirls around her like a tornado. And once the atypical projectile hits it, there's a brief moment where the two clash. The whirlwind forms what looks like an energy bubble around the black-clad girl. It begins to cave in as Yurika's musical prowess works its magic on it, but then, it springs outwards, launching the attack right back at its source. Sorry Yurika, your performance has been given two thumbs down. The attack halted, Ninon casually begins to drift torwards the ground, going much slower then gravity would normally dictate. It's like Mary Poppins, only a lot creepier.

COMBATSYS: Ninon successfully hits Yurika with Reflected Fatal Rondo.

The musician wipes off her forehead, she was more than certain that the worst of it is over. She was actually a bit suprised that she had managed to pull that off, but.. It seems somehow that it's not over just yet?

Clearly Ninon is bluffing, unlike herself, there's absolutly nothing that the witch could so when faced with her own ultimate display of projectile goodness.
Unfortunatly it turns out Yurika is wrong.. The musician is so suprised by the sheer unorthodox of the 'spell', that such a simple thing could completely disrupt and send back her technique that by the time she realizes it's coming back toward her, she cannot slip away in time. The musical 'drill' slams into Yurika, getting pummeled by her own chi that sends her crashing back down into the mass of woodland goodness.

Her white glove raises and the musician pulls herself up again, the blood from her nose starting to seize. Is she super angry? Most certainly not, at this point her expression is alarmingly cold, even with the smile on her lips. "... That was.. Quite annoying, Miss Beart. I believe at this point I will have more to gain than just 'being the victor' at this point. I did not realize you would go this far to upset me, so as such.."

Yurika raises her fingers to her lips again, her dark eyes somehow growing darker still. "I will humiliate you as well."

COMBATSYS: Yurika focuses on her next action.

The black-clad girl finally reaches the ground, settling down just in time to hear what Yurika has to say. She doesn't try to interrupt her. Instead she merely stands and listens intently as the musician says what's on her mind. And as she does so, the witch can do nothing but smile. Her smile doens't even pretend to be friendly, instead it seems to mock her opponent and everything she's saying. "If you unprepared for me to attempt to beat you, then perhaps you should of not called me out here. That seems logical enough to me, I can hardly see why you are so unhappy. That is, unless you are distressed I am not the easy opponent you expected, hmm? Regardless, perhaps you understand what I was talking about earlier now? You won't be able to beat me unless you dislike me. Hate me if you have to, I don't care, Yurika Kirishima. I did not come here to make a friend. I came here to test you, to see if your words were those of a fool or if you were worth listening to. I have not been disappointed in your performance. However, I cannot simply stop now that we have come so far, wouldn't you agree. You shall have your chance, girl. I don't intend to make it easy for you, however." In a blink of light, she is suddenly standing before Yurika. "Boo." Still somewhat tired from unleashing two strong attacks in a row, she settles for a weaker yet more satisfying alternative. I hope you left enough room for Ninon's fist, because she's going to ram it into your stomach!

COMBATSYS: Yurika endures Ninon's Strong Punch.

The blue-clad musician gives a light chuckle of her own, as she slowly shakes her head and makes her way atop of the fallen trees once more. She holds her violin bow like a sword, pointing it once more toward her witchy opponent, "Don't misunderstand, I am not that simple. I hate those whom have no hope of being what they can potentially be. Your are rude, mildly uncouth.. But that in no way shakes the vision that I have for you."

Yurika considers herself a 're-creator'. While this normally goes for people whom appear to have nothing, Ninon was a special case. "However, out here I will not accept this kind of blatant redicule, that is not only an insult to me, but an insult to the Kirishima style. I do not believe you've forgotten my mentioning of how much that means to me." There's no music being played, a technique so advanced that is causes the breeze whisping through the tree to become musical energy that dances about her form.

How she says all of this before Ninon vanishes, appears and strikes? Who knows, but she appears and for once she is going for the gut! That is a nice change. On the other hand, she will proceed to show no mercy. The musician doubles over, and when she stands up again it's with a vicious uppercut into Ninons chin. Assuming it knocks the witch upward, Yurika leaps after her, slashing forward with her bow toward Ninons chest, and then two strikes in an 'x' motion. she twirls around with a side kick, then thrusts her weapon forward into Ninons gut, "Un!!" raised to then chop at the neck, "Deux!" and then with a twirl in the air, attempts a flipping overhead kick to send Ninon rocketing right back down to the ground. "Trois!!"

Of course there's one more strike, Yurika rocketing downward, dress flowing outward by a bell as the exclamation point would be a Thwamp-like impersonation dropping down onto the opposite gothic-lolita. But what does fate have in store?

COMBATSYS: Yurika successfully hits Ninon with Fatal Requiem.

She would never admit to it, but the sudden assault was more then Ninon could of hoped to handle in her current condition. She's viciously beaten, by such a lame weapon even, and finally deposited on the ground to land in a heap. And it's a hard landing, too. It's a landing she doesn't immediantly move from, for that matter. But after a moment, the girl, clearly hurt, drags herself to her feet. "Hm hm. Ha ha! Ha ha ha ha! Yes! Perfect! That's exactly it! That's what you need to win your fights, girl! You can't be held back by foolishness. You must treat your opponents as if they are your toys to be played with." She thrusts a hand torwards Yurika, electric energy crackling along it. A small ball of light begins to form in her palm. "Yurika Kirishima, you have earned a fraction of my respect. You are no mere fool. I like that." Her energy ball begins to grow larger. "Perhaps, one day..." She lifts her hand over her head, as if preparing to launch it. "...I may even not have to hold back against you." Instead of flinging the ball of light, it is crushed in her hand, shedding sparks harmlessly over her. "Now, I have played along with your little game. Why did you ask me here?"

COMBATSYS: Ninon can no longer fight.

.. Toys to be played with? Ninon wasn't just arrogant.. She was -super- arrogant! She can't help but feel further annoyance with the laughter that follows her arial combination, but it couldn't be helped- And she was in a defensive position for a counter attack.. Is it coming? The energy gathers up, up into something that could very well be a fabled 'Trump Card'.. And it would seem it isn't granted to her.

That, amongst other things shakes Yurika up a bit. She isn't certain she appreciates Ninons thoughts, even toward a woman as classy and proper as herself but it's clear to her now that she's simply going to have to endure it from this point. This, is truely what Ninon is to the very end. Yurika would offer the witch a hand up at this point, but the girl's a bitch and there are no Seijyun girls to play 'nice' standing around. ... She just won't learn, will she?

Yurika draws in a calm breath, and when it is released, her expression softens once more, patient smile one again on her lips. "It would seem, that you have quite a tall ladder, Miss Beart. I confess it is quite frustrating, but I suppose not everyone can be squealy underclassmen.. Anyway as you have seen, I am quite an able fighter, with secrets of my own. Through me, you may very well be able to achieve even further power. What I offer you is a trade; I suppose it would make an alliance of sorts. I have told you before that I would like to study under you. In turn, I will lend you use of my abilities for your benefit."
Yurika raises her gloved hand to smooth out her hair a bit.

COMBATSYS: Yurika has ended the fight here.

"Through you, hm?" Ninon crosses her arms in front of her, both to maintain her look AND to subtly touch her wounds. She can't help but wince slightly, though she does her best to mask it. She is not entirely successful. "Well, I cannot imagine I could learn much from you. However, Ninon Beart is not a fool. You know this town a great deal better then I do, I imagine. I have not been here long, I do not know it well yet. In that small way, I must admit to you having the advantage. Of course this is an advantage that will eventually fade...Still, you have proven to be not entirely uninteresting. And in the end, that is what is most important to me. I will dig deep into you, Yurika Kirishima, and discover your precious secrets. If you wish to be allied with me, you must accept this as fact. I do not easily offer my power to others. The moment you are no longer interesting, I may simply abandon you. If this is unexceptable, then you should walk away now."

Yurika's brows upturn slightly. She herself is quite thankful that Ninon didn't just leave her completely hanging, embarassing her further just out of spite. Ninon might seem to have the better part of the bargain but in time the witch will find out that Yurika is playing a little game of her own. She's just not nearly as outward about it.

She doesn't make comment about the obviousness of Ninon's condition, for whatever reason that may be. "I not only accept it, it pleases me to hear as such. That being said, I will be looking forward to the next time we meet. And.. I do need to clean myself up."
The musician was similarly rather beaten up, perhaps not to the extent of Ninon, but she looks quite exhausted. It was a headache enough trying to keep up with her brothers commands, Sada being a homewrecker and Momo being annoying. Now she'd have to deal with Ninon too. Though she hoped through the misery of the witch she'd be able to get some joy out of the deal- She did have really nice dresses.
"Until next time.." There's no flashy exit for Yurika. Her violin arm relaxed, she simply walks away- It'd be a long trip back to Seijyun.

Despite her obviously bad attitude, Ninon is a person of her word. It is easy to live up to one's promises when they make them like she does. And while she considers Yurika interesting enough to not ignore, she will be treated with, if not respect, at least a bit less open hostility. After all, she has fewer reasons to hate the Kirishima girl then she does most of the city's fools. And perhaps she actually will be able to find a way to help Ninon further her power. The witch doubts this, of course. It was entirely on a whim she agreed to the alliance, not out of any hope the violinist could actually live up to her word. But Ninon, she didn't care if she did. All that mattered was the entertainment that would come out the other girl trying. And who knows, perhaps she'd be the one doing Yurika a good deed instead, by shaping her into someone less weak-willed. "Hmph. At least it wasn't a waste of time." And then she, too, is off. She doesn't head back to Seijyun immediantly, however. She doesn't want the Kirishima girl to be able to see just how much trouble she has in getting back on her own. Arrogance doesn't do a thing to heal her wounds.
