Neo League 451 - #459: Tenma vs Luc

Description: Good Idea: Have Tenma Kiryuu and Luc Schroedinger beat each other up, and use their mutual hatred and rivalry for ratings!! Bad Idea: Have them do this at Seijyun Girls' School. (Draw Match)

So let's say you're some mook in the Neo League organisation. Your job is, mainly, pretty straightforward, right? Somebody gets you to bring a camera crew along so they can challenge somebody else, or maybe you get handed a couple names and you stick 'em somewhere so they can beat each other up for points. So one day, you've got two names on your list, and they're both teenaged boys, rowdy highschoolers who have become somewhat infamous for their mutual dislike, mainly because that mutual dislike has resulted in a respectable amount of property damage over the course of two Saturday Night Fights.

What do you do? Of course, you take these two boisterous young men and you stick them... On the grounds of Seijyun High. After all, a confrontation like this, in such an incongruous place... It's bound to be good TV, right? Besides, it probably took a lot of finagling to get permission from the school.

Now, one of the fighters at least, Tenma Kiryuu, has been involved in a league fight /near/ the grounds of the school, wherein he beat up some weird Seijyun girl with a kusarigama, but he's never actually been on the grounds of the girls' school before, which should come as no surprise. The Guardian King, thusly, seems a little awkward. A little... Out of his element.

There is a ring, kind of, set up and demarcated by barricades, outside of which is the camera crew, and the officials, and the usual televised fight nonsense. It's a stark contrast to the elegant, gentle beauty of the sprawling school campus, this little harsh spot where two guys are going to do their best to beat each others' heads in. Tenma is already present, at least, his unwrapped bokken in hand as he cracks his neck, limbering up for the fight ahead. The Gedo Gang member draws a fair bit of attention, of course, because like any fight this one has drawn its share of onlookers... But for once, Tenma doesn't seem all that keen on being surrounded by so many girls. In fact, the sheer absence of any men aside from himself, his opponent and the League crew is... Kind of creepy. Sometimes, when your dreams come true, they're just nowhere near as good as you'd hoped.

Besides, the Seiyjun uniform isn't nearly revealing enough!

It's situations like this that might put some boys at a bit of a disadvantage. Put amongst so many girls, when they're still only teenagers -- it's a bit intimidating, enough to throw anyone off. Of course, luckily...
Luc Schroedinger has functioned without much of a discernable sex drive or interest in stupid girls for a while now.
It helps him to fight more efficiently.
Of course, this doesn't mean that Luc -wasn't- annoyed at the fact that he had to fight at an all-girls school. Quite the contrary; as with most things, Luc found himself profoundly irritated at the prospect of having to fight in the midst of a bunch of annoying, gibbering little girls. It didn't really appease him to know -who- he was fighting, though. After all--
--he still doesn't know Tenma's name.
These facts are the reason that Luc only just barely arrives 'on time' for the scheduled fight. Pushing his way through a gaggle of schoolgirls with an unpleasant sneer painting his lips, the German strolls through casually otherwise, hands shoved into his pockets and head dipped low. Eyes hooded in boredom, his obviously bland look doesn't quite change until green eyes lift up... slowly... and see who he's fighting. "..." He's silent for a long time. His right eyebrow twitches, his hands slipping out of his pocket. "Wha..." And then... he frowns.
"YOU'RE the one I have to fight? Oh, this is going to be -sad-." Like he's supposed to actually -remember Tenma's name.- Come on.
Still, though, Luc's green eyes are alight with anewed activity, burning bright as his hands clench tightly into fists -- black energy already crackling around them. "I bet YOU'RE the one who got them to make us fight -here-, huh, hobo? You're pathetic." What a perverted kid Tenma is. Fighting amidst a bunch of schoolgirls! Of course, Luc's too focused to notice them at all at this point. He is, and always will be... fightsexual.

It's true though. Tenma /is/ a perverted kid. It's his form of rebellion, turning against the staid, stoic and ascetic traditions of his family line, who have done everything they can to avoid having anything that could be quantified as 'fun' for generations. As near as he can tell, Luc's major reason for behaving the way he does must have something to do with being dropped on the head frequently as an infant. As Tenma waits for his opponent, he actually kind of tries to avoid too much attention from the surrounding schoolgirls, though the presence of the Gedo High logo writ large on the chest of his t-shirt probably doens't help matters. But then... Here comes Luc.

"Ah, shut up, you dumb, ugly, inbred monkey," is Tenma's response to the German's disdainful tirade. Still, he's kind of glad, in a way. If there's any opponent who could immediately take his mind off of their current surroundings... Luc would be one of the first names on a very short list. Which, oddly enough, is mostly taken up by Luc's teammates, even though Kiryuu doesn't know that one of them /is/ aligned with the German berserker. Go figure! Anyway, not about to be outdone in the department of 'completely inappropriate viewing material for the proper young ladies of Seijyun High', the Gedo swordsman lifts his left hand to his mouth, and bites into the skin of his thumb, hard.

Crimson blood trickles down Tenma's hand as he draws his thumb down the blade of his bokken, painting the blessed wood with a stripe of red. "But since you're just gonna sit there and bitch like some girl, maybe we oughta get you sized for one of these chicks' uniforms, huh?" the blue-eyed boy wonders of his opponent, with a nasty smirk on his face, and probably offending the audience as much as Luc. Tenma feels no need to endear himself to anyone, after all; which is good, because he's notoriously bad at it. "Tell you what, though," he adds, sweeping the bokken through the air once, setting it alight with a misty, smoky crimson aura of blood. "I'll let you take the first shot. I'm feelin' generous to my lessers today."

COMBATSYS: Tenma has started a fight here.

And here Luc thinks that, living on the street, Tenma wouldn't have a family. The More You Know.
An absolutely irritable expression painted across his face, Schroedinger glares at Tenma like daggers. It shows a remarkable amount of control that he didn't just up and punch the other man in the face upon seeing him -- maybe Luc's been having a good day today. Regardless, the boy irritably scratches at the inside of his ear, eyes half-lidding again in perceived boredom. "Blah blah blah. Holy shit..." His right hand clenches, as his left pulls away from his ear, flicking away errant dirt.
"... do you ever -SHUT UP-!?"
Really, unlike some people, the German boy doesn't really waste much time talking. His right hand whipping to the side with an almost deafening -crackle- of chi that surges across it, he adopts his fighting stance, seemingly oblivious to everyone around him save for Tenma. "What the hell are you talking about wanting to dress me up like a girl for, idiot..." And here, he pushes off his right foot, breaking into a surprising BURST of speed as black flames trail behind his legs. "... IT'S TIME TO -FIGHT-!!"
In a short, simple hop, Luc is airborne for the duration of his forward thrust. Spinning as he goes, his right leg snaps out, engulfed in black-blue power. The intent? To simply crash it RIGHT into the side of Tenma's face, heel first, with enough force to smash him to the side.
"Try to keep up, moron!"

COMBATSYS: Luc has joined the fight here.

The short answer is: No, Tenma doesn't. Of course, that's not quite true, sometimes he does shut up, but it's not that often. It takes some really special circumstances. However, he severely underestimates Luc here, on two counts: One, the speed and timing of the incoming attack, and two, his abject density. It's hard to insult a guy when he doesn't actually get it.

As Luc comes flying through the air at him, the Gedo swordsman just smirks confidently. "Too obvious, monkey!" Tenma calls out, and this is one of those times where being an arrogant, overconfident kind of guy can bite you in the butt, as he slowly, almost lazily swings his bokken down in what would probably be a very vicious and brutal slash, but the attack gets no bite at all, whiffing through the air bare millimeters from Luc, as that heel crashes into the side of Tenma's head and sends him staggering. "Ohh?" wonders Tenma, as he catches himself, because really... You didn't think THAT was going to penetrate his protective bubble of self-confidence, did you? "When did you stop sucking so bad? Finally learn at thing or two from your buddy with the oar?"

"TOO SLOW!!" And with the crack of fiery heel against vulnerable face, Luc proves his statement to, indeed, be true. The result is an explosive contact of his chi against Tenma's face, just as Luc completes his spin and lands just as simply -- frowning all the more.
"Maaaan... what the hell? I don't remember you being this awful. You better get your head in the game, hobo..." As Luc speaks, he drops down once more, body tensing. And as he does, he almost automatically springboards -forward- in a blur of speed. His right fist cocks back, engulfing in black-blue flames straight up to the elbow. "... or this ISN'T GOING TO BE ANY FUN!!"
Within a matter of seconds, Luc seeks to infiltrate Tenma's defenses, landing just within his guard. What seems to be a straightforward right hook, however, shifts quickly as Luc's arm bends at the elbow... which he then seeks to DRIVE into Tenma's solar plexus with an explosive BOOM of chi. "You're NOTHING BUT A LOSER!! GRAARGH!!"

COMBATSYS: Tenma endures Luc's Medium Punch.

This time though, there's no fancy moves. There's no attempt to look totally cool by trying at the last minute to hit Luc at the same time he hits Tenma, no. Instead, Tenma just grins, and he gets that elbow driven right into his solar plexus, the blast of black chi sending him further back... And it seems certain that he's going to be driven right off his feet, until he catches himself, and throws his weight forward, haphazardly. "Maybe you should try hittin' harder!!" he calls back, because that's how it works.

"All those weekends in the knittin' circle must be makin' ya go slack, MONKEY!!" Tenma adds, briefly ducking low and holding his sword arm across his body, the bokken itself held lower, to be brought to bear as he leaps, upwards and forwards at Luc. Tenma twists as he carries himself into the air, his motion turning into a whirling slash aimed to take Luc up with him, before knocking the German back to the turf below. "VAJRA!!"

COMBATSYS: Luc endures Tenma's Vajra!

"Man..." Luc begins slowly as he notes the lack of give from his attack. Brows furrowing, he begins to gain distance between himself and Tenma -- to allow himself -room- to prepare. "... what the hell are you even -talking about-?!" But he doesn't have time or desire to question further, as Tenma begins to fly at him. The shouting of the attack is enough of a clue-in for Luc as to what is going to happen next, but the young man... doesn't try to get out of the way. Instead? He takes that attack FULL on, letting Tenma's blow sweep him into the air with that charge of chi. But as he is knocked into the ground, Tenma might notice something.
Luc is laughing.
That's usually not a good thing.
"HAHAHAHAAAA!!" As Luc descends, he lands -feet first-, recovering with frightening swiftness. Pressure building up under his legs as he lands in a crouch, he almost automatically springboards off and TOWARDS Tenma, his right hand pulling backwards. "Hit me HARDER, HOBO!!" As this is roared back, Luc's hand slings forward in a brutal haymaker -- accompanied with a sudden, onrushing -lance- of fiery black chi that seeks to explode in Tenma's face, right before it is finished off with a brutal flipping kick, to launch the young man into the air.

COMBATSYS: Tenma blocks Luc's Riot Revolver.

Tenma            0/-------/-======|====---\-------\0              Luc

Yeah, that's probably going to be trouble, Tenma reasons. As he drops towards the ground, though, there's a Luc flying right at him, swinging his fist in a wild haymaker punch, but rather than hitting the Gedo High student himself, it instead clashes with his chi-charged bokken in a furious storm of black and red. The sheer force of it reverberates down Tenma's arm, but it's not enough to keep him from swinging the blade again to intercept that flipping kick, a second raging battle between their two distinctive energies creating some extra spectacle for the onlookers and cameras.

Meanwhile, riding the force of the impact, Tenma falls back to the ground, on his feet, skidding.

"Man, what was that, monkey? I bet there's girls here hit harder than that," Tenma chides, wagging his bokken instead of his finger. But from that wag, the motion turns into a slash, cutting through the empty air; from the red trail that follows the blade, a crescent of roiling blood springs forth, screaming towards Luc with terrible purpose. "AND DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A 'HOBO' IS, YOU RETARD?!"

COMBATSYS: Tenma successfully hits Luc with Dharmapala.

Tenma            0/-------/=======|======-\-------\0              Luc

His attack stopped, Luc doesn't seem too deterred; he knows the damage it'll do will linger, and he knows he can simply use it as a lead up for what is to happen next. As it stands, he lands far more unprepared than normal. The sickle of energy that flies at him comes too fast after he had put so much effort behind his last attack, and as such there isn't any room for him to respond in time; the slice of bloody chi slams into Luc's body, sending him reeling back a few steps... but with a lively, rage-filled glare that seems to offset all the pain.
"I know it's the ONLY NAME I NEED TO KNOW YOU BY," Luc roars out as he launches forward with a quick -turn- of his body, twisting around in an attempt to grasp Tenma securely by the face. "HRAARGH!!" If successul, he'll spin a full 180 degrees before thrusting DOWN, slamming Tenma into the hard ground with a sudden, surging EXPLOSION of chi.

COMBATSYS: Luc successfully hits Tenma with Raving Slam.

Tenma            1/-----==/=======|=======\-------\0              Luc

And of course Tenma thinks he's more than prepared for whatever else Luc might dish out, staggered as the German is by the wave of bloody chi; however, it seems that the Gedo swordsman is in for a rude awakening. He ducks back, trying to avoid the grab, but he isn't fast enough this time to escape the berserker's reach. Instead, he's caught and twisted around and smashed into the hard turf, and then blasted with that explosion of black chi, which... Kinda hurts, to be honest. "Heh... You sad sack son of a bitch," Tenma mutters, rolling a bit to get out of Luc's immediate grasp, before getting to his feet.

That was something Tenma had never seen from Luc before, which just made this all the more entertaining to the Gedo Gang member. He hadn't thought that, even now, the stupid monkey would have any surprises left up his sleeve. Swinging his bokken backwards, he slants it along his back, the point rising over his left shoulder, and then he rushes directly at Luc, lashing out with his left fist. "How did someone as stupid as you," he grits out between strikes, attacking specific points on Luc's body to disrupt the immense flow of chi through the other young man's body, using the attacks to, if all else fails, herd the berserker into a more advantageous position for Tenma. "Even survive this long?!"

COMBATSYS: Luc fails to interrupt Flow Breaker from Tenma with Tyrant Strike.

Tenma            1/----===/=======|=======\-------\0              Luc

It seems arrogance goes two ways. When Tenma is slammed into the ground, Luc jerks himself backwards in order to prepare for what comes next. Black-blue fire licks around his foot in a tell-tale sign of what is to come, but... he's just not fast enough. The blows all strike true in a series of staggering attacks, feeling that odd sensation of his very energy being disrupted -- as much as the Schwarzerde heir's chi -can- be, at least, which is something slightly miniscule at best. Still, it hits him just as his leg is about to jerk upwards, completely throwing the young man off and causing him to growl in annoyance. Not exactly painful, but -- he's never liked the sensation that comes with this attack.
Coming to a staggering halt some feet away from Tenma, Luc doesn't attack. Instead, he wipes blood trickling down his lips... and grins, slowly. "... Idiot. Just because you've lived by some stupid fluke doesn't mean everyone else has. So how about you try shutting up... and HITTING ME HARDER ALREADY!?" Apparently, Luc's just been pushed over the edge. It's probably not going to be very long until any semblence of coherent conversation completely escapes him.

And similarly, Tenma staggers back after hitting Luc like that, apparently passing up the opportunity to press the advantage - if, indeed, that was what he had, here. For all his overconfidence, though, his blue eyes never leave his opponent, watching the berserker carefully, trying to see if there's any tell, any giveaway as to what the German might do next. As he does this, though, Tenma straightens up properly, swinging his blade back foward and then resting it against his shoulder, his left thumb hooking into the pocket of his uniform slacks, his posture casual, relaxed. Supremely arrogant.

"Wah wah, Monkey," Tenma replies mockingly. "Why don't you try being /worth/ me hitting you harder? It's like fightin' a broken record. 'Hit me harder! Hit me harder!' You musta had a REALLY messed up home life." Instead of ceasing to talk, Tenma just talks /more/. To provoke his opponent. To buy himself time. To focus on what he's doing... There's a lot of reasons why Tenma runs his mouth so much, you know. It's /strategy/, honest.

COMBATSYS: Tenma focuses on his next action.

What the-- Tenma isn't coming to -hit- him?
Luc blinks, squinting in the direction of the Kiryuu boy. When he notes the fact that the Japanese fighter isn't coming at him... he frowns slightly, and lifts a hand to rub the back of his head. "You really are an idiot. You think you can just sit around like that? ..." Normally, the boy's rage would get the best of him, but here -- he knows exactly what Tenma is trying to do, and that reprieve Tenma has allowed has unfortunately also begun to kill off that ever-building berserker rage, allowing for a few moments of coherent, lucid thought. He's worn himself out with all of these attacks he's been using. So why wear himself out further?
"C'mon," he utters, lifting up a hand to beckon Tenma towards him, "if you want me to stop talking... than start -fighting-. Unless you wanna prove to all these stupid girls here that you're just a worthless coward?" And in a display of ingenuity that Luc will only ever be able to display on the battlefield, he gestures broadly to the girls here, eyes narrowed. "Look, the little wuss is -too afraid to hit me-. ...How -pathetic-." Really, he's just trying to goad Tenma and not catch his much-needed breath. Honest.

COMBATSYS: Luc gains composure.

"As a matter of fact, yeah, I do think so," Tenma replies, but it's clear that his clever ruse is actually seen through, which... Is pretty surprising, given that he's fighting Luc. For a moment, he actually looks /impressed/, before he comes to his senses and mutters: "Well, even a broke clock is right twice a day." Thusly making himself feel much more secure in his own superiority to the 'monkey', the Gedo swordsman actually laughs aloud at the taunt, and the gesture towards the girls. "Man, like I care what a buncha uptight princesses think?" But regardless, his weight shifts, and there's a brief moment of tension, before he lunges forward.

Crossing the distance between the two of them at a run, Tenma leaps into the air about halfway there, bokken held in both hands and raised over his head. "But if you wanna get your ass beat so badly, WHO AM I TO REFUSE?!" the gang member bellows, his hair streaming in the wind as he falls towards Luc, slashing downwards to add the force of his fall to that of the strike, right on Luc's face and head. "DIE!!"

There. THAT got Tenma going again, which is precisely what Luc wanted to -begin- with. Whether it just be because the Japanese boy is impatient, or because he actually doesn't want to look like a big ol' coward in front of all the giggly little twits, he still comes at Luc, exactly as intended. And, exactly as intended... he lashes out with a strike filled with -immense- power. So what does Luc do?
He takes every. Last. Bit.
The boken strikes in such a manner that Luc can anticipate it; as it swings downwards towards the German, he is suddenly rushing INTO it, letting it SMASH freely onto his skull with such force that normally, it would launch him into the ground explosively. This time, though? Like some sort of freak of nature, Luc powers -straight- through the attack, "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH, YOU WEAK PIECE OF SHIT!!" And as Luc roars this out?
He launches up, at the moment of impact, to strike Tenma with a powerful, straight-vertical kick, leg flaring with chi.
If it should connect, Tenma is going to go on quite the wild ride. Struck with such ferocity the young boy will be launched straight into the air, Luc follows this up with another fiery jumpkick. And another. And -another-. Simply continuing this trend over and over until Tenma is launched -high- into the air. Upon the tenth or so, Luc leaps up with tremendous momentum, spinning around as he does so... to drive a single foot into Tenma's gut in an overhead axe-kick. As it is delivered? A pulsing -beam- of fiery black-blue chi shoots OUTWARD from his foot, hammering into Tenma to send him on a collision course -straight- towards the ground. "GRAAAARGH!!"

COMBATSYS: Luc successfully hits Tenma with Anschlag Ereignis.

[                       \\\\\\\  < >  //////////                    ]
Tenma            2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|-------\-------\0              Luc

Because this is one of the few ways in which Tenma and Luc are similar instead of violently opposed to each other with every fibre of their being, the former - actually struck with amusement at the German deciding to just eat that hit - doesn't flinch away from the kick, even if he could do it in this position. No attempt to block, no anything. Unfortunately, he underestimated the attack, and instead of finding an opening, he ends up smashed powerfully into the ground. For a moment, he doesn't get up.

Slowly, deliberately, the swordsman pushes himself to his feet, turning his head to look towards Luc as he does so, a glare in those dark blue eyes. "Fine then," Tenma says, rolling his neck to one side, with a faint crack. "You want something better, Monkey?" His stance shifts, feet shoulder width apart, and his left hand pushes forward, palm out towards Luc, his fingers lightly contorting. "I'm gonna send you crying back home to Big Red, maybe she'll let ya weep out your woes on her chest, huh?" His right hand swings back, bokken and all, the arc of the blade visible behind him, as the red glow around it intensifies, obscuring the wood completely. His lips pull back from his teeth in a snarl, no confident smirks or smarmy grins now.

"I'm gonna make you regret you ever thought you could fight me, the invincible fighting genius TENMA KIRYUU!!" And as he bellows his name, Tenma suddenly lunges forward, his whole body thrown into the movement, crossing the distance between the two of them at top speed once more. Of course, once he gets close enough... He twists around, swinging his weapon as hard as he can at the side and front of the berserker, but it's not the bite of chi and weight of wood that's the real danger here; if the strike lands, Tenma's chi will pass /through/ Luc, disrupting the very flow of life through his body, stealing his strength and vitality and leaving behind it only numbness... "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!!!"

He's seen this move before. Luc knows exactly what it does, what it is capable of -- just how much it -hurts-. Schroedinger's eyes narrow as he lands, leaping backwards and away from the prone form of Tenma. He knows what's coming next. All he needs to do is prepare for it. Be ready for it.
Because he is not going to lose to a chump like Tenma Kiryuu.
As he lands, Luc spins, adopting a far more casual stance -- much looser, much more -prepared- for the inevitable attack that Tenma will bring to bear against him. And for all Tenma's talking? Luc's eyes merely half-lid as he yawns, bringing up a hand to rub at the inside of his ear in that traditional idle gesture of his. "Blah blah blah. Y'know, I noticed something. Idiots like you... losers who are all bark and no skill? ..." As the red glow of Tenma's bokken begins to increase visibly, Luc's mouth contorts into a condescending grin -- -fire- burning within his gaze.
"... they always have to blabber on like the WORTHLESS MORONS THEY ARE!!"
The instant that Tenma swings himself forward, Luc is RIGHT- there, rushing headlong into the attack in what would seem, at first glance, to be a completely suicidal gesture. But as he does? His right hand slams DOWN, the palm striking Tenma's boken with the crackle of black chi meeting crimson. There is a sudden, sparkling -explosion- of the clashing energies as, for all Tenma's speed, for all Tenma's power? ... with a grin, Luc just STOPS the swing completely in its tracks.
"THIS... is what I think OF YOUR STRENGTH!!"
And with that bellowing yell, with the crackle of power between them, Luc suddenly twists, sweeping out with his right hand... and seeking to -slam- it into the side of Tenma's face in a demoralizing, burning backhand.

Okay, so: Objectively, Tenma probably deserved that. It is, however, a rather unpleasant reminder of Saturday; of the way his power was completely ineffective, completely useless against Kain R. Heinlein, and that reminder just... Pisses him off. So when Luc yells, and swings his fist in a backhand, Tenma just glares right at the German and /stands there/, the fist smacking into the side of his head, but the tall Japanese boy... Doesn't even move at all. Not a millimeter. "It's on now, Schroedinger," Tenma says, sounding entirely serious, which is probably as unusual as the fact that he actually used the other boy's name.

"Now I'm seriously, seriously just gonna kill your ass." Part of Tenma is tempted to stop for a second, to catch his breath. He could probably use it, you know? But that is a tiny part, not very often listened to. Instead, the Gedo swordsman twists, swinging one foot up right betwixt Luc's legs as hard as he can, and then if that works, he actually uses that foot to kick /off/ of Luc, turning his momentum into circular momentum as he stops himself moving back and whirls around, slashing out with his bokken at the side of the berserker's throat. "YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF TRASH!!"

Tenma takes that sweeping, crackling backhand like a man, but Luc doesn't notice. He's now lost in the fight, his green eyes blazing in a frenzy as he sweeps around. As Tenma so seriously proclaims his intentions, Luc's response is simple: a low, gutteral growl, slowly gaining in volume. "GrraaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!" His voice BOOMING in such a frenzied, almost -animalistic- way that some of the girls nearby stagger away in fear, he rushes straight in on Tenma as he makes that last, slashing strike with his bokken.
"DIE! DIE ALREADY!!! HRAAAAARGH!!"
SLAM.
In an instant, Tenma connects with his strike, , clashing into Luc's throat. But at that same time... a boot SLAMS into Kiryuu's jaw, brimming with black chi that spirals around his leg. In that instant, a miniature tidal wave of energy rushes -out- from Luc's leg, explosively slamming into Tenma just as the force of the other boy's blow sends him straight into the ground with a sickening crash. There is silence, for a long moment, and then:
"... weak... punk... kill you..." He's out of this fight, and verging on unconsciousness, but that doesn't mean he can't get -one- last insult in.

Fact of the matter is, Tenma really saw that going different. Rage doesn't work quite as well for him as it does for Luc, so he's surprised when that foot crashes into his jaw, replete with a black spiral of chi, sending Tenma backwards. It's not, honestly, that hard of a hit... But at this point, a hard hit isn't necessary. "Stupid... Goddamn... Monkey..." he grits out, and in a last defiant and decidedly unpleasant gesture, he hocks out a wad of saliva, though it falls short of its intended target - Luc - by a few feet, and instead further tarnishes Seijyun's lovely lawn.

Meanwhile, Tenma staggers backwards, ending up flat on his back as the aura around his bokken dissipates with a sound like a slow exhalation, the red stripe painted in blood down the side of it also vanished. Since it looks like neither of them can get up and continue, the officials start a slow, pointless count to ten, before it's called - a draw match! Sure to satisfy neither Luc nor Tenma, when they regain full consciousness.

Let's just hope the Neo League crew doesn't /leave/ them there.
