Description: Having heard rumors of a mean little witch on campus, Yurika takes it upon herself to see the reality of the rumors. What was supposed to be a simpe introduction becomes instead an endurance test of attitude Yurika isn't used to and forces herself to endure to the end. Is it worth it? She's not entirely certain.
Well, Summer vacation will be ending soon, much to many students of Seijyuns dismay. Ninon may be new here, a recent arrival or perhaps has just been laying low, but if a girl such as herself sets foot in Seijyun, there is a certain musician that's going to find out about it.
Yurika Kirishima was quite excited, of course. There isn't much she knows about the girl that the summer-class students have been murmuring about other than the fact that there's finally another girl whom walks about in gothic lolita attire.
Though there were some rumors the girl might actually be a witch, which was similarly intruiging. Putting aside thoughts of the Darkside Student Council aside, the silver-haired girl has decided to look into it herself. Currently she's on her way toward the girls Dormitory to check the bulliten boards and see if Ninon has actually been assigned a room. However she's not dressed up, she's actually in her normal school attire today.
The boards list a 'Ninon Beart' so it seems that the girl has indeed been assigned a room. If by request or by sheer luck, she's the only resident of her room as well. Furthermore, if Yurika looked close enough, there'd be a similiar name, "Mignon Beart' listed as well, who's been assigned a room all the way on the other side of the school.
And speaking of the devil, footsteps fill the hallway as Yurika suddenly finds herself no longer alone. The girl she'd heard so many rumors about suddenly appears! She suddenly appears, and just as suddenly, starts to disappear. She has no interest in speaking to the girl. Yurika doesn't interest her for any reason. Why should she? As far as Ninon knows, the girl is just another, bland, boring student who she'll likely never even see again.
It sounds like Ninon hasn't been around long enough! Which is fair, considering she's new! And it's that is yet another reason why she has to find the newbies. The name 'Mignon' causes her to raise a brow. That's an odd name.
The hairs on the back of her neck stand up suddenly, she looking over her shoulder, and double-takes when .. Did her eyes decieve her? Now, it's not as suprising as it could be, after all she knows a few tricks herself, her brother being a ninja and all. She shakes off the bit of suprise, and makes a casual stroll to go and meet the girl in black.
"Excuse me, Miss Ninon Beart?" the girl asks, trying to meet the other girl by her side. "I've been looking for you, my name is Yurika Kirishima." The name may not ring an immediet bell, but Ninon may have picked up on rumors that the girl is the very posterchild of Seijyun high, whom is running for student council this year. Again, perhaps not too interesting to the witch, but there should be no doubt that many look up to her! "Do you happen to have a moment or two?"
The other girl does not stop walking. Neither, however, does she completely ignore Yurika. While she doesn't turn to look at the girl, she does answer her. Ninon has heard a thing or two about her, after all. Yurika isn't the only one that listens to the school rumors. "How many moments I have...." Here she turns to face the girl of the odd hairstyle. "...is entirely dependant upon what you have to say. I will not refuse to listen to you, but if you intend to try and force me into one of those tasteless uniforms, then you should just take your leave without saying anything else. If not, then perhaps you can interest me enough to prevent me from slamming my door in your face. Speak."
Mild suprise. While the girls smile doesn't faulter, her brows do raise slightly in suprise again though. Ninon was a lot.. Ruder than Yurika would have expected, suprising indeed! But it seems to just flow over her shoulders, harsh as the words may be, "Well, that isn't quite what I wanted to discuss with you, in fact I'm actually very fond of your attire, Miss Beart. What I am not so fond of, however, is a lack of manners. It seems you don't quite fully understand what the purpose of this school is. Which is fine, it takes some time to adjust."
Yurika gives Ninon a curtsey, and stands straight once more. "I had caught word of you through one of my schoolmates, I'm sure you remember Sada Asai? From what I've heard you're quite the unsual girl, and I'm quite fond of unusual things. But I think it'd be better if I put things in your language." There's a slight pause, her smile still present. "If you so much as consider slamming the door in my face, I will make your stay here very very difficult. What do you choose to do?"
Ninon did not come to this school to have fancy tea parties and giggle like a moron. She came to Southtown with a purpose, and it has nothing to do with this foolish girl. This girl, who seems to think that she could make her stay here difficult. Perhaps she's simply an idiot who doesn't know who she's speaking to. Or perhaps she isn't. Ninon doesn't know, but neither does she fear the girl. "I have already considered it." Ninon's returned smile has no mask of kindness covering it. She's very obviously not trying to be friendly. "However, you are not uninteresting." Though her room is merely down the hall, she stops. "Very well. You wish to speak to me. Do so. I have time. I cannot guarantee I will also have interest, however." As for mention of Sada, Ninon neither confirms nor denies having ever met such a person.
It's odd, in a weird way, both are on the same train of thought. They both believe that it's foolish for the other to believe they're greater than the other. It's true, Yurika knows little about Ninon as well, she could be Seijyuns next Daigo for all she knows, but she rarely makes empty threats. But the smile that was on her face, it abruptly vanishes once Ninon makes it clear it was already considered.
She didn't expect that as a response at all.
There's a slight pause, she coughing lightly into her gloved fist. "I could say the same about you, of course. But allow me to get straight to the point. I am not here to ask you to join some sort of club, or to ask you to abide to the rules. What I wish to do is know more about you and.. Well.. Perhaps be tutored, in a sense. I am a very big fan of the gothic lolita lifestyle, and have a bit of interest in witchcraft as well. I was hoping perhaps you could teach me a bit about it. Of course, I could provide compensation.."
"Likely nothing that I need." is Ninon's curt response. "Do you think that I scraped together the funds I needed to move to this city and come to this school? If you're referring to monetary compensatio, then it's of no interest to me." For the first time something that Yurika says seems to spark interest in the girl, however. "Oh, so you've heard, eh? I suppose I had not made it much of a secret. Then perhaps you understand why your little threats don't mean much to me." She's silent a moment, pondering. Just how serious should she take this? "My sorcery, however, is not something easily mastered. The Beart family has practiced it for generations. I cannot simply pass it on to someone who walked up, smiled pretty, and asked. You'd have to prove you're worthy. Though I suppose you could always ask my sister. She would prove much more willing to give you what you want, though what you could actually learn from her is laughable at best."
The musician gives a small nod of her head, "Well you're half correct," she explains. "I can see where your confidence against my threats come from at least. But I'm not here to prove that I'm better than you, only to make it clear that it's fine to make enemies; but to choose me as one of them would not benefit you."
Yurika clears her throat again, "You seem the type that takes interest not in money, but in things to further yourself. And while I may not look it, I can help you with things like that. The problem, though, is that I don't know exactly what it is you're trying to obtain. Seeing as you have combat ability, I would guess it's power."
The musician smiles once more, "So I must prove my worth, do I? If I agree to that, does that mean you'll make me do various embarassing things? And I'm not quite as interested in your sister; but as an upperclassman it's my duty to meet her as well."
"Hmph." Ninon eyes the girl. "You are more astute then I originally gave you credit for. I will not underestimate you a second time." She actually seems ever so slightly impressed. Most that she has met have just written her off as a rude girl they didn't want to deal with. This one is different. "I do not as of yet consider you my enemy. You seem, perhaps, a bit less on the uncultured side then many that I have met since coming to this town." She crosses her arms in front of her. "Your assessment is correct. I have no interest in money. My family has enough wealth to get me through for many years now. As for it not being wise to turn you into an enemy, I would say that is for me to decide, hmmm?" Yurika does have a way with words, it seems. Ninon hasn't left yet, after all. "If I agree to what you want, then what /could/ you offer, knowing what interests me?" She ignores the question of what Yurika would have to do to prove herself. She herself doesn't actually know what she would ask of the girl, though chances are that Yurika wasn't too far off the mark.
Yurika can't help but raise a brow again. Just how low -was- she on Ninon's radar anyway? Yurika's well away that she looks like a fancy froo-froo girl. "One of my specialties is gathering information and observation. As you may or may not know, I plan to become Student Council president this year. Such an ability is mandatory. As for it being for you to decide.."
The musician seems mildly amused at this point. Ninon's still rather rude, but less than before at least. She must be making progress. "I'll.. Let that slide. And as for what I can offer you, perhaps it'd be better to show you a little rather than just outright say it. So far all I have been is talk, I'm sure you would enjoy seeing a little action. So I propose that we meet tomorrow, in the forest near Justice High school. For a duel. Do you accept?"
Suddenly, in Ninon's head, everything seems to click. Yurika wasn't the first one to speak to her about 'observation'. She remembers just who the girl Yurika had mentioned was as well. She had mentioned 'observing' as well. And if she was one of Yurika's classmates, that must mean that she attended the school as well. Funny how Ninon hadn't seen her since then.
"Very well." She is unafraid. She has never found anything that she should be afraid of. If this girl thinks that she is going to hold back merely because her opponent is some sort of 'big-shot' in school, then the school council president to be will be sorely disappointed. "I hope that you are a better observer then that girl Sada, however. She could not even get my name right." Ninon still hasn't forgiven the girl for DARING to call her Mignon. Chances are she wouldn't for quite some time. "You seem quite confident. I shall look forward to a proper display of your power."
There's a pause, yet again from Yurika, taking in Ninon's words. Really, if this girl just wasn't so interesting, Kirishima could have just let this conversation go long ago. It was mildly annoying knowing she'd have to go out of her way to get this girls interest and potential alliance.
She could only hope it'd be as worth it as she suspects. Even Aislinn was easier to deal with.
But she does chuckle after a moment, "Ah that's a little suprising, I had thought that you and Miss Asai might actually get along. Then again, the same sides of a magnet will repel, not attract, won't it? However I do request not to compare me to her, she's hardly an expert. That aside I'll be looking forward to it as well. By the way, I'll be going to a cafe in downtown at around five this afternoon. They have wonderful tea. If you're interested, please feel free to meet me at the front gates. Until then, though, I must excuse myself, I have a lot of preperation to do."
The ego is what makes Ninon hard to deal with. It's near unbreakable. Even having faced defeat twice already since coming to the city, she's still convinced that she's the best around. She is, however, no fool. She's learned from her two defeats. She won't have the respect of the people around her until she can PROVE she's better in some way other then her own words. Crushing this girl is as good a start as any. And if she proves to be more powerful then Ninon suspects, well, that's also good, just for different reasons. "Very well. I shall consider coming along with you. Do not count on it, though. Just consider it a surprise if I chose to do so. Until tomorrow then, Yurika Kirishima. Make your preparations count." And with that, she begins to move down the hallway to her room.
"Very well," Yurika repeats, as well as gives back. She feels overall she made a good first impression, which is always the most important. The bad news is she may have a headache.
Yurika's no saint, she knows it, but she does have a reputation to upkeep, and that's simply not blowing up. It was more difficult than she had anticipated. On the other hand, with the idea that Ninon may join her for a bit of time to be 'classy'. That does bring a brighter smile to her lips, that'd be a treat for sure. But before she can go and head toward the dorms as well, she's stopped by an underclassman whom asks for help going through the procedures of a tea ceremony.
She agrees to help, of course. So much for getting her work done.
