Jaeger - Sergio: Victory

Description: Difficulty: Moderate. Primary Attack Style: Blitzer. Primary Defense Style: Blocker. Overall Non-Combat Threat Index: Low.

Dream Amusement Park is a place for family fun and excitement, and normally, the place is a safe, secure area. Even with the occasional fight held here, the management always does a bang up job of making sure that the crowds are safe from harm. It's no mean feat, considering the amount of damage a fighter can cause.

However, those are sanctioned bouts with distinct rules and boundaries. In Dreamland, things are monitored very closely.

So when a 6'5" robot comes crashing from the sky directly into a merry-go-round, it's no surprise that a hue and cry is raised. Shards of metal blast outward as the mechanical paratrooper crushes the ride like a meteor. Luckily, there are no children on the ride, due to the lateness of the hour. There are enough people nearby for the sharpnel to cause problems though. The shrieks of terror ring out as security is called to the scene.

People scatter from his presence, and Jaeger doesn't seem to mind as he strides forward purposefully, red eyes scanning the area. The dazzling electric lights play across his composite-armored frame, giving him a garish and abstract appearance as he levels his fully automatic rifle at the crowds. The weapon begins to belch lead, the shels ripping across the once idyllic scene as the mechanical monstrocity proceeds to turn Dreamland into a nightmare.

Though amusement parks tend to be more geared towards children, there's certainly a fair number of rides and exhibits for older teenagers and adults as well. For people that just want to kick loose and have some fun, it can be a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. Kicking loose is Sergio's middle name, so it's no surprise that he can be found here every once in a while. He's currently just stepping off one of the more exciting roller coasters when Jaeger shoots down from the sky and obliterates the merry-go-round.
This will, of course, draw the attention of almost everyone in the park, and just like someone slowing down on the freeway to check out an accident, Sergio goes to see what the heck just happened. Upon finding the twisted metal of the ride, he lets his thoughts be known. "Holy crap! What happened here?" Then Jaeger steps out, bringing a look of confusion, "How did anyone survi- wait, what the hell is that thing?"
The feeling that he's been thrown into some sort of low budget invasion film begins to overwhelm him when the robot lifts a weapon and begins firing it into a crowd. It doesn't hit home that it's a real gun until people start falling down. "You've got to be kidding me!" Someone has to stop this thing, and since he's apparently the only one capable of it around, he starts running towards the mechanized killer. Of course he's not very fast. "Hey, you! Knock it off!" That'll work, yep.

Jaeger turns his head as he hears a voice, and turns all his available sensors to scan the incoming man. It would appear that a champion has arrived to bring his rampage to a halt, and Jaeger really wouldn't have it any other way. The shells sprinkle to the ground continuously and the machine doesn't stop until the entire clip runs dry.

Shot and shell blast apart booths, statuary, decorative plants. Concrete rains from the sky as the bullets blast holes in buildings and the ground. When the weapon finally runs out of ammunition, the droid finally speaks, turning to view Sergio fully.

"You're going to have to be slightly more specific," he replies, ejecting the clip and letting it clatter to the ground as a new one is slapped home with the practiced ease of someone that was quite literally born to do it. "Do you mean the civic disruption? The annihilation of public property? The wanton slaughter of mindless cattle, moo moo, stomping off into oblivion?" Jaeger's question is posed as polite, even, and berift of the usual tones that denote hatred or contempt.

It's as if he had just asked Sergio if he wanted a glass of warm milk before bedtime.

"Whatever the answer, I'm afraid I can't comply. I have my orders, although to be fair, even if I didn't, I wouldn't stop anyway. It seems that I rather like shooting people."

Sergio keeps moving forward as Jaeger keeps raining death down upon the, presumptuously, innocent crowd. The carnage ends only to have the killing machine turn to him, and address him as a person might. That's far more disconcerting than what he was expecting. In his mind logical responses would be 'Destroy' 'Kill' and 'Die'. Even if there is a little reverberation there, it's not the mechanical B-movie style he was half expecting. Before it didn't quite seem real, and now it seems all too.
However, the reply that he isn't going to stop, and enjoys shooting people, actually seems to draw a smug grin from the tall Italian, who's only an inch shorter than Jaeger. "Oh yea?" The grin turns into a smirk, "Well I guess I'll just have to make you then, won't I? I'm no hero or anything like that, but I'm not gonna let you just walk in and start mowin' people down with a gun!"
Sergio drops down into a powerful stance and draws his right arm back, suddenly thrusting it forward in a huge gesture. The ground rumbles beneath him, and suddenly the ground bursts open. A massive surge of water tears out of it as if an underground river had been redirected to the surface, huge chunks debris from the shattered ground surging along inside the torrent. "HAAH!"

Jaeger           0/-------/---====|==-----\-------\0           Sergio

The attack takes the machine completely by surprise, blasting him clean off his feet and straight into the air. The torrent of water sends the heavy armor plated monstrocity flying through the sky, crashing to the ground just as he was attempting a retaliatory strike. Joints buckle and servoes grind maddeningly as the overwhelmingly powerful attack blasts the machine across the open area into another stand, shattering it and sending wood shards everywhere.

That was largely unexpected, and Jaeger is going to have to recalibrate himself in order to get back into the game after a hit like that.

"Splendid! Finally, an opponent that is capable of inflicting actual damage," is his reply as he staggers up slowly from the wreckage. "This should be interesting."

Sergio stands back up to his full height and crosses his arms when Jaeger gets blown away by his attack, things like that happening doing much to inflate his ego. "Hah!" He soon uncrosses them, however, and begins walking slowly towards Jaeger again. "That's right, enjoy it while you can." He isn't going to play the hero; telling him that's what he gets for shooting innocent people. It crosses his mind but that's... just not how he is. "Looks like you can dish it out against weaklings but can't hack it against someone with -real- power!" Taunting, however, is another story.
So full of confidence is he, that he intends to literally march, slowly, right up to the robot and stop. "You're right about one thing though. It will be interesting." He cracks a quick grin, and then attempts to snag him by the shoulders, turning him around to put him in a headlock- how effective is that going to be against a robot anyway- and then press his hand against the small of his back and letting loose a blast of water from the palm of his hand to blast him away again.

'Real power'. That's a lot to claim, especially since Jaeger's nowhere near defeated yet. The machine takes a blast of water to the back... but the headlock effectively does very little. Disengaging the joint, all it does is swing harmlessly in the man's grip, letting him swivel freely before reaching up and wrenching free.

It's becoming blatantly clear that he's going to have to take a different strategy altogether to defeat this opponent. His armored bulk seems to be completely ineffective against the powerful jets of water he's capable of producing. The machine lurches aside to break away, steam hissing from his joints as he moves at a laughable slow speed, heavy footfalls purchasing very little ground as he tries to gain some distance from the man.

It looks like the machine was able enough to deal with that attack, but when it's over he moves to get more distance. What does this mean to Sergio? It's clearly that his power is so impressive that the machine has decided to run away. Nevermind that it withstood the last attack with incredible ease. The Italian grins, "Not going to get away from me that easily!" He's slow, but he's not 'laughably' slow, himself, so he's able enough to catch up to him when he charges forward.
When he does catch up he drops his right fist and bends at the knees, crouching down low in preparation to attack. He then leaps into the air, his fist smashing upward in a powerful and blatantly stolen uppercut, water surrounding his fist. "Water Dragon Punch!"

And right before the attack lands, Jaeger seems to explode. The heavy armor plates blast outward, creating a flashbang for cover as Jaeger rips free from his armored moorings and into overdrive. The machine underneath is far leaner being. The steel and chrome visage is also much, much faster.

Breaking away at a full speed run, he leaves his metal plating behind to shoot forward and make a full roundabout, legs pistoning across the ground at full force.

Then he seems to just... disappear.

He doesn't stay gone for long, however. A powerful gust of wind announces his appearance behind Sergio a split second later, the machine givein pause as his metal feet scrape across the ground. Whipping into a kickboxing pose, the machine raises a foot into a snap kick, trying to deliver a strong blow to the back of Sergio's head with an armored shin.

Sergio blinks a little when Jaeger disappears completely. "What the... I didn't feel that hit, so I couldn't have destroyed him..." He stands there looking down at the armored shell left behind, scratching his head. And then a gust of wind comes along. A grin cracks on his face. "Oh, I get it." Sergio quickly whips around and raises his right hand info the air, just in time get shin-kicked hard in the face. And that, let me tell you, hurts a lot more than it does when you get hit in the back of the head. "Augh!"
Now it's his turn to be 'blown away' by the power of his opponents attack, thrown away from the attacking robot and rolling to a stop, holding his face. He picks himself up and looks at his hand, seeing blood. "Jesus, what the hell!" Suddenly all that taunting and that cocky attitude is beginning to look a bit premature. "Guess you can fight after all."

"I try," is the response, and Jaeger leaps far higher than anything really has any right to be able to jump. He arcs through the sky, twirling like a streak of mercury as he lights onto a ferris wheel high overhead. Magnetic clamps hold him in place as the ride sways under the impact of his 275 pound frame. The creaking noise abruptly grows louder, as he pushes off.

The robot hurls through the air like a bullet, streaking through the sky at a falling diagonal as he targets Sergio with deadly precision.
Then he's in Sergio's face. Ripping by with tremendous force, the machine pops a blade from his forearm, and attempts to gut the man right there in a daring move-by attack, the serrated carbon-steel edge seeking purchase in warm flesh.

COMBATSYS: Jaeger successfully hits Sergio with Tomahawk.

Jaeger           1/-------/=======|=====--\-------\0           Sergio

Having his 'faithful' counterattack failing is something his brain can process. Jaeger being able to jump to the top of a Ferris wheel, however, causes him to stand still and just stare, because before he witnessed it he would have declared such an act impossible, even with his lighter and obviously ridiculously fast frame. And then suddenly he's streaking down from the air towards him at incredible velocity. "...no helping this one."
Rather than attempt to intercept such a fast attack, Sergio crosses his arms in front of himself and tightens up his muscles, expecting to be rammed. That, however, isn't what happens at all. The crossed arms are pointless when it's a blade going for your stomach, but at least the tightened muscles keep the weapon from penetrating /too/ deeply. "Ahh!" That wasn't expected; though perhaps it should have been, since Jaeger had no qualms about mowing unarmed people down with a machine gun earlier.
"Shit..." As well as things started, this is beginning to look like a turning point; something he doesn't want at all. With Jaeger running about, about the only thing Sergio can do is try and anticipate where he's going to go, and attack that point. So that's exactly what he does, jumping forward and pulling up one leg by his side and suddenly thrusting it out, a trail of water streaming after it. "Hyah!"

The foot is thrust out a split second too early, and Jaeger's nible form does the impossible.

He limbos underneath it.

Disengaging his knee joints, the machine slams down at full speed, tossing up sparks as he continues forward. The nearly telescopic spine that supports his inrastructure collpases back, and he whips under the outstretched limb with the ease of a dancer before exerting pressure on his left leg.

With the sound of a whip, the machine pinwheels through the air, body spinning as his knee joints crack back into place. He flits back with casual ease as he blinks from existance once again.

Then, a sliver streak from the corner of Sergio's eye announces his presence once again, his outstretched hand attempting to grab the man by the head and slam him down to the pavement with a painful smack.

COMBATSYS: Sergio interrupts Quick Throw from Jaeger with Medium Punch.

[               \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ////////////////////          ]
Jaeger           1/-----==/=======|======-\-------\0           Sergio

So he managed to avoid it. That's not a great thing, but there is a good thing about all this; Sergio was at least able to aim at the correct spot, even if was a moment too early. The method of avoidance makes it pretty undeniable, if it wasn't obvious already, that this guy just isn't human. Bending that far, scraping on the ground, and then snapping back into place? That'd just about kill someone if they managed it, right?
The streak of light is cause for alarm, and Sergio isn't quite quick enough to avoid it, but then, that isn't his intent. "Oh fuck this." He begins turning to face Jaeger and gets grabbed by the face, but at that same moment he thrusts his powerful arm forward, using a simple uncomplicated brawling punch to inflict some pain into the machine's own 'face'. The slam succeeds, but only partially, deadened further by the fact that Sergio was ready for it, twisting to hit on his shoulder and roll as he hits. He's not quite graceful enough to roll up to his feet, so he has to get up normally. "Hmph."

The blow connects cleanly with Jaeger, but not so much that it tosses him off his game. The best it does is pound a dent into his armored helmet. That will take about ten minutes and a hammer to fix. Flipping with the blow, Jaeger pulls a three point landing, steel legs spread to plant his landing as he places one hand on the ground to steady himself.

Gears grind and metal creaks as he leans back on his haunches, and then blasts forward with considerable speed.

Armored feet rip across the pavement literally, tossing up dust and torn concrete in a rooster tail of debris. The park is going to have one hell of a repair bill on it's hands. One foot deftly hooks itself around a fancy streetlamp, sending the machine at an odd angle as he rockets forward and tries to punch Sergio straight in the gut, his metal fist trying to practically punch through the man.

Even if it only served to make a dent, that dent is enough to improve the state of Sergio's morale and ego. He'd been kicked around almost like a toy since Jaeger had switched tactics, but landing that blow makes him feel a lot better. He winces a bit at the grinding metal on ground, not the pleasantest noise in the world, and waits.
Jaeger comes at him again, tearing back towards him with incredible speed. "Okay, lets do this..." He makes damn sure that the robot isn't going to whip that blade out again, and then readies himself, lowering his center of mass slightly in preparation for the blow to come. The fist comes for his stomach, and his arm drops, hand opening. The fist slams into his own, and he slides backwards from the force, a powerful wrenching shooting pain through his arm from the impact. He's no master at this sort of technique, and the pain on his face shows that.
Rather than a smug grin, his face shows gritting teeth, and Sergio quickly reaching out with his other hand and attempting to take a grip on Jaeger's upper arm. If he succeeds he'll twist his body around and try to haul the machine off the ground and then slam it right back down into it, hard, and then land on top of him in an attempt to pin, water suddenly flowing over his entire body.
If your opponent is too fast to hit, catch him, pin him, and then beat the hell out of him while he's down. That's the idea, anyway.

The best laid plans of mice and men...

The hand grabs Jaeger's arm firmly. Rather than wrestle with the man, the machine disengages his arm. Like a lizard, the droid leaves Sergio with nothing more than a seemingly inert peice of metal in his hand. Again, the machine backflips away with nary a word, going from feet to hand without issue.

Then he jumps.

Jaeger's shining metal form arcs through the air like a lobbed grenade, the electric lights from below lighting him up like some kind of bizzare, otherworldly spacecraft as he descends. One foot drawn up, he attempts to smash his foot into Sergio's chest, grab his arm, and then use the man's body as a springboard to leap back once again.

Just because the arm detaches doesn't mean Sergio doesn't go through with the maneuver, which ends up sending him off balance and smashing the arm into the ground. It happened too easily to think that he tore the arm off the robot. Everything about this fight seems so -wrong-, not like fighting a person at all. Which...would make sense when you think about it. "You've got to be kidding me! Your arm can just fall off?"
Sergio frowns, Jaeger back flipping away with ease despite the loss of a limb, and then shooting in the air to attack him with a flying kick. "Fine, but I'm going to make you regret it!" He pulls his arm back and then swings powerfully, the arm suddenly flying at high velocity end over end, and smashing into the attacking robot with a loud *CLANG*! Not that it prevents the foot from hitting him squarely in the chest, but it's enough to slow the velocity of it before hand, enough so that Sergio can actually manage to stay on his feet. "Haha!"

Jaeger's own arm smashes through his chassis and sparks erupt from his chest like a fountain, black smoke billowing from his damaged body. Somewhat perturbed, the machine stumbles backward, bracing himself on a park railing as he removes the limb from his own side with the shriek of tearing metal. The fingers are destroyed, but that's not a problem.

He's not going to need them for the next attack.

Slamming the limb back into place, Jaeger is in the air again, and lands nimbly on the balcony of one of the fake building facades. Both arms raise with deliberate care as they start to shift, change, armor plating sliding back as one expands into a pultiple bore weapon while the other simply becomes a long tube, angled oddly against his torso.

Jaeger doesn't talk, but what he does do is start to play music. The machine's synthesizer, normally emitting pleasant speech simply blares Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkeries' as the twin weapons do the talking for him.

Jaeger unloads a holocaust of grenades, the shining metal spheres filling the sky like a miniature alien invasion. The concussion grenades clatter to the ground like a shining carpet, or explode in midair, trying to blast Sergio about like a pinball. All the while, the second arm is lobbing volley after volley of micro-missile at the man, the small explosives swarming the place below as they blast apart the park with careless ease.

COMBATSYS: Sergio slows Elint Legioss from Jaeger with Charybdis.
Glancing Hit

Jaeger           0/-------/------=|====---\-------\0           Sergio

While never having seen Apocalypse Now, there's something that's disturbing to Sergio about something making that kind of noise while turning it's arms into powerful weapons. In the end it looks like giving him his arm back might have been exactly the wrong thing to do. But then there's no way he could have known that before. When the weapons start firing, Sergio pulls out an incredibly long rope. He doesn't have guns, but he does have an incredible wealth of energy to draw upon.
The grenades start raining down, and the rope is whipped forward, a huge vortex of water forming around, lifting off the ground and flying out towards Jaeger. Problem: Grenades are /raining/, only the missiles are heading straight at him, so while the rope and water stops the first few volleys of rockets the grenades hit him perfectly, bouncing him around like crazy while the continual bombardment eventually ends the mass of rope and chi, having proved relatively ineffective against the onslaught.
When all the bombing and blasting is over, Sergio's left on the ground, smoking. His clothes are torn and burnt, and there's more than a few scrapes covering his body. "Shit... he overpowered me...how could that... happen?" He grits his teeth, and picks himself up off the ground. "This isn't good. Better give it my all if I'm going to stand a chance!"

Red eyes stare down at Sergio, and Jaeger surveys the damage.

The amusement park is a screaming nightmare, twisted into nothing less than a flaming, burning wreckage. The buildings around him, had they been occupied, would have been little more than charnel houses of the dead. While the body count is low due to the fact that most people had the good sense to run, Jaeger knows that there are critically wounded people in the area.

Somehow, there always are.

Sometimes, Jaeger wishes he had a mouth so he could smile.

"I concur. Your 'all' is what I want to see. No more, no less. Your start was strong. I expected to be defeated at this point."

And suddenly, the machine is gone, the railing in front of him bent and mangled as the droid rips forward.

A flash of metal, and the smoking, sparking robot skids to a halt a few feet behind Sergio. Jaeger turns around, arms lowered as he looks down for a split second.

A concussion grenade is lazily rolling between Sergio's feet, tiny timer light blinking.

Boom.

Sergio is more aware of the state of his own body than the state of everything around him, which is in equally poor condition, if one were to compare the two. When Jaeger talks to him, it causes him to smirk, "Yea, so did I." Maybe if he had stayed slow and sluggish he would have been, the several completely avoided attacks possibly could have turned the tide of battle.
About the last thing Sergio wanted to see after all that ammunition was used on him was another grenade. "Oh shit." He tries to simply dive out of the way, but the blast easily catches up with him, blasting him hard and sending him flying into a wall. Breathing heavily he only just manages to pick himself up. "Well, better give this a shot..." Sergio sets his jaw, and then bum rushes Jaeger, leaping into the air and striking out with a foot to try and catch him in the chest. If it succeeds he'll send three hard punches across his body before ending in a palm strike that falls just short of target, only to release a blast of water to end the attack. "Haah!"

Rists rip through air, and the jet of water punishes the empty space where Jaeger should be. The rapidly moving machine seems to lose very little effectivness, despite his body being a smoking wreck. God bless American engineering with it's overly redundant systems and it's fantastically heavy sheilding for no apparent reason.

Let's try that one last time.

Once again, Jaeger's swift moving feet rocket him towards the chunk of ground that he's calculated to be Sergio's blind spot. Leaping in the air just short of it, he executes a neatly turned spin kick. The metal heel is angled to catch the man not in the head, as the expected target would be, but the side of the knee as he tries to cave in the man's joint.

COMBATSYS: Sergio fails to interrupt Light Kick from Jaeger with Whitewater.

COMBATSYS: Sergio can no longer fight.

Jaeger           0/-------/-----==|

At this point Sergio's pretty much running out of gas. He might be able to continue fighting for a bit longer, but pain is beginning to overwhelm his senses, and the only think he can think of is that if he's going to win, he needs to end the fight decisively; and now. When Jaeger comes in for a leaping attack, he has a few options left open to him. He could try and take the hit and attack normally, but every time he's tried that the robot has managed to zip away unharmed. That gives him two options as he sees it. He takes the more risky of the two, releasing a powerful blast of water from underground and causing it to shoot straight up, dragging pavement along with it. Or at least, that's the intent. Jaeger simply reaches him too soon, the kick smashing into the side of his knee. His concentration is completely blown, and little more than a spurt of water emerges, and no rocks. The joint doesn't exactly cave in, but it's enough to topple the large Italian at this point, keeling over and crashing to the ground in pain. "Sh-shit..."

Jaeger's self repair systems are already sealing off the damage that was inflicted on him. The excellent part about being a droid is that little more than a day under a wrench and a few rivets later, and you're right back in action. Give him the ability to shunt his systems into full repair mode, and he's more than ready to battle again in scant more than a few hours if the conditions are right.

"Looks like you can dish it out against weaklings but can't hack it against someone with -real- power!" Comes the recording. The sound of Sergio's own voice emits from the synthesizer with all the same mocking tone and clarity as if Sergio had said it himself.

"If you had no value to my superiors, I assure you, I would be taking this opportunity to rip your body asunder and dance on your scattered components, your frail organs popping beneath my feet like overripe fruit," he says, his voice never missing a beat, as if someone's kindly uncle Bob had just informed a roomful of toddlers that he planned to kill and eat them all.

And that's it. No taunting words. Not sparks of wisdom. No condescending lectures. That's all Sergio gets: 'I wish I could kill you'.

Well, at least the robot's not boring and chatty. In an eyeblink, the machine is gone, leaving destruction and ruin behind him, as per his standard Modus Operandi.

Because being a 6'%' war robot means never having to say you're sorry.
