Description: Shinobu and Ingrid have a fight inside of a garden in Metro City Park. [Winner: Shinobu]
It's a quiet, peaceful day in Metro Park. It's been over a year since any gang has tried to seize the city, and the park was never much of a battleground. Except for today. Light crowds gather around the central area of the fight - a flower garden, donated by some Richy McMoneystein, and now about to be conpensated for by the Masters Foundation. Nearby are light groves of trees, as a light wind rustles their leaves. The cameras and emergency crews are set up, and were it not for them, this might seem like a better spot for a picnic than a fight.
But Shinobu's here, so that's certainly not so. Doing her pre-fight stretches, she sits down, pulling herself forward as she waits for her foe. She hums cheerfully, in her summer dress and straw hat, as she bounces to her feet, rubbing her neck. "Ah, this place sure is pretty..." Not that she holds any regret about messing it up. Fighting's more exciting than flowers!
A flower garden in the middle of such a large park truly is a wonderful place for a fight, considering that the fighters are two sixteen year old girls. Perhaps it would be more dubious if it were, say, Haggar and Yamazaki battling it out, but for the moment it seems to fit. Metro City is fairly large, and it's not one that Ingrid has traveled excessively. It is because of t his that she is, for once, late to the upcoming fight. After wandering around trying to find her way she'd finally just hailed a cab, who took her right to the park, where she again wandered around before finally finding the garden of flowers, the camera crews giving away that she'd finally found where she was supposed to be.
She walks slowly, apparently not in too large of a hurry even if late, and finding Shinobu and walking over to her. "Good evening. I apologize for being late, I'm afraid I'd gotten a bit lost." She smiles a little, "Funny, isn't it, that the last time we met was also in a flower garden..?"
Shinobu spins about, and then blinks. She touches her cheek, saying, "Yeah!...", blinking cluelessly. "... we did?" There's a pause while her brain kicks into gear, and she says, "Ah, yeah, now I remember, you're... ... that girl!" She beams, apparently content with that. Taking a few steps away, she raises her fist. "Well, I'm always ready!", she declares, and slides her foot back. "And, um, good evening to you too!"

Ingrid smiles again, "I am, yes. I believe we've only met a few times, but it's nice to see you again." The blonde takes a step back herself, "I think I've walked around enough that I'm fairly warmed up myself." Her pose relaxes a little and she lets her arms sway gently by her sides, her head turning a little to quirk an eyebrow at the camera men, to make sure they're ready. It just wouldn't do if they missed the beginning of the fight. Hmm, is there even an announcer present?

Well, there's an announcer... but not for the fighters to hear. More towards the back, the control area. Where people can't, say, accidentally catch a burst of sunrays or a stray bubble. But there is, at least, a person overseeing and waving for them to go. So go it is!
Shinobu exhales, and then brings up her hand. "Get ready!" With that, she rushes over a number of tulips, and then whips her leg forward in a high spin kick. "Haaaa-" After her extention, she continues to turn - before suddenly reversing momentum to try and catch Ingrid with her heel and prevent her from quickly counterattacking. "-TA!"

A person waving to them? That couldn't be clearer, considering it seems to be the person in charge. Ingrid's head turns back to face Shinobu just as she's proclaiming she's going to start, and nods to her in response. Shinobu's quick attack bring the reality of the fight home, and she watches her intently, making a quick hop backward when the first spin kick comes out. It's not enough to put her out of rage of the sudden momentum shift, but it is enough to give her just a moment more time to react.
Using that moment she leans forward and points at the air, a swirling disk of golden energy forming in front of her, Shinobu's heel connecting with it firmly. At that moment Ingrid stands up tall one leg and swings the arm she pointed with in a large upward motion, the energy of the disk invisibly surrounding Shinobu and flinging her up into the air and then allowing her to drop. Ingrid then backs off a bit more, in case a quick retaliation is in order.
Shinobu is flung up, and slams back down into the tulips, petals flying. She gets up quickly, though, looking surprised. "That was pretty weird...", she says, looking down at her foot. "... teach me, okay?" But she doesn't give Ingrid time for a lesson.
Instead, she hops back forward, and then throws out a random flurry of punches, "Yayayayaya-", as her trademark strike. In the middle of it, though, there's a flash of fluid energy through her as she suddenly goes from her unfocused strikes into a fierce backhand aimed at Ingrid's solar plexus. As she's about to hit, she stops - and then unleashes that last inch of powerful energy.

"I suppose I could try, if you'd like." Ingrid readies herself as Shinobu moves forward to attack, moving from side to side quickly and avoiding a few of the unfocused punches before the sheer number of strikes overwhelms the tactic, leaving her completely open for the powerful strike that finishes the maneuver. The power of it is enough to double her over, and she stumbles backwards, trying to recover from the attack. The punch did quite a number on her, and as she retreats backwards she swings an arm in an underhand motion, a trail of golden energy following out from her hand as a large shining ball of energy lobs up into the air and then falls down towards Shinobu in an arc. It almost looks like she's using it to cover a retreat, but she does need to recover from that strike to the gut.

Glancing Blow

Shinobu tries to run around it, and dash out of its way real-cool like... but it catches her in the side, and she rolls in that direction, scattering some posies as her back is put to a willow tree. She exhales, and stands up, grinning. "Ah, you're shiny." She brings up her fist, and grins. "But all I really need is this!" She loosens her hand, and then brings her fingers together admist a popping of knuckles. An odd sound, given her size and dress. "C'mon!"

Ingrid considers her options in a short moment, looking at Shinobu carefully. She then offers up a friendly smile. Though it might make for a boring fight, she's decided not to rush in and attack when Shinobu's obviously ready to meet it. Perhaps she's not taking advantage of an opportunity, but at the same time she's not waltzing into a trap. "No, thank you, I think I'll stay where I am." She idly bends down and picks one of the flowers, lifting it to her nose and smelling it.
COMBATSYS: Ingrid gains composure.

Shinobu blinks, and pouts. "You better not be making fun of me... because I'll make you take me seriously!" She stamps her foot down, and exhales loudly as she slides her foot forward, advancing slowly, and then blinks in shock as something rushes out of one of the flowers. "Ahh! You've got a bee near you! Look out!"
It might seem a dirty trick, but... there really is a bee! Buzz, buzz! BUZZ!
Still, maybe the distraction /is/ something Shinobu can use!

Ingrid smiles to herself, "Would I do a thing like that..?" She tends to make fun of everyone, though they may not pick up on it. "I am taking you seriously, I assure you, but I can enjoy the garden at the same time, hmm?" She looks over to the side and, sure enough, a bee. She shoos it away with her hand, which thankfully has a glove on in case it had decided to sting her. And from all this, she seems firmly rooted in place. She smiles at Shinobu again, a bit of mirth on her features. A contest of willpower, perhaps? Who can stay still the longest?

It's not a contest for Shinobu. She's just not inclined to rush in half-cocked again.
Rushing at Ingrid, she hops into the air, trying to launch over and past her before kicking out upside-down in an inverted spin kick. That isn't all, though, as her hand touches the ground, and blue chi like an ocean wave whips out behind her foot as she continues to spin, rapidly kicking out at Ingrid. A cyclone of energy bursts from the ground, and flower petals flow up in an enormous column as she tries to catch her foe up into the air.

As she catches Ingrid with the attack, carrying her up, Shinobu suddenly leans towards Ingrid, and then lunges headfirst at her, blowing her out of the pillar of power. Then, Shinobu crashes down as the cyclone dissipates into mist, barely managing to roll into a crouch.
Ingrind wins the battle, but loses the war. She feels ready for Shinobu as she lunges towards her, and a huge flash of golden energy surrounds her, apparently having something in mind. As before she leans forward and points, but this time there's a triangle of energy and an even larger disk. The problem is that by the time the disk is formed Shinobu's already past it, her foot repeatedly slamming into her head while the energy washes over her and drags her up into the air. Shinobu might almost be doing her a favor by smacking her out of the energy vortex, except for the fact that she gets smacked hard in the process. Once out of it she picks herself up slowly, and dusts herself off, using sheer force of will to keep traces of pain from showing on her face.
"Oh, that was cool.", Shinobu says embarassedly, blushing a little. Her hat's fallen off, and she picks it up, putting it back on. "... I wish I'd gotten hit so I know what did... almost!"
Shinobu's not going to let up, though. Rushing at Ingrid, she tries to pounce on the other fighter... and if she grabs her, just flail away with her feet at Ingrid's chest. She's never tried anything like it before, but experimenting in a fight is Shinobu's forte. "Wa ha!", she kiais, hoping she can knock some distance between her and her opponent.

"Do you really?" Ingrid asks quietly. The blonde turns to face Shinobu as she rushes in again, "Well, I think I can oblige, in that case." Once more a large flash of energy surrounds her, and she leans forward and points, a triangle of golden energy acting as a power amplifier and a huge disk forming in front of Ingrid, Shinobu's tackling pounce sending her right into it. Unlike the other disk it doesn't disappear and surround her, but rather simply trap her within it, slowly dragging her up into the air and letting the psychic energy tear at her while Ingrid leans back and gives a teasing little salute. Don't worry, she does that to everyone, not just Shinobu! The disk releases her once she's high in the air, and Ingrid raises her hands, curled into fists, and draws upon one last burst of power, holding her arms out as Shinobu falls to the ground, a huge symbol of the Eternal Goddess forming in the air and searing at the savant one last time before letting her slam into the ground. Ingrid releases a quick breath. That took quite a bit out of her.
As Shinobu's tanned well and blown away, she crashes through a small tree, and it crashes down before her in a explosion of leaves. Then, she starts laughing before she pops up out of the branches, pulling a twig from her hat. "That was really cool!", she exclaims, and grins widely. The thrill of something like that helps her deal with the pain, thankfully. Then, she vanishes beneath the leaves again.
Then, suddenly, she bursts out of the leaves, leaping out - and getting her leg caught on a branch. She manages to tuck as she crashes to the ground, rolling... right at Ingrid's feet. "WaAaAaA - lookout!"

Ingrid blinks as Shinobu comes flying out of the tree and begins rolling at her. She makes an attempt to just jump over her as she passes, but she doesn't get high enough fast enough, her feet getting shoved backwards and causing her to pitch dangerously, falling forward and getting a face full of flowers. At least it smells nice, right? She picks herself back up and turns to face Shinobu, hopping forward and lifting her hands up into the air, pushing them forward and down and releasing a large stream of sparkling energy to try and engulf her, whether she's managed to get up by then or not.

As Shinobu gets up unsteadily from her crazy rolling, she looks a little dizzy - and thusly can't quite get her hands up in time to block Ingrid's attack. She almost gets knocked off her feet, bending back ridiculously before kicking out behind herself and staying up.
"Try this out! Yayayayaya-
She throws out a flurry of punches with her left arm, trying to batter at Ingrid before then going even faster as she switches to her right arm.
"Yayayayayaya!", she continues, blazing away at Ingrid with both fists flying. But, finally, she then unleashes with /both/ fists.
"YAYAYAYAYAAYA!"
The storm of punches is ridiculous, a blurred frenzy of attacks as she tries to beat her opponent down with sheer physical force. And when she's done, she slumps, hanging there like a deactivated robot as she tries to catch her breath. It's touch and go whether or not her lungs will cooperate...

As unsteady as Shinobu might be, her attack comes out fast enough that Ingrid's caught off guard by it, frantically trying to put up one more disk of energy to intercept the attacks... and the left armed punches smash into her, shortly followed by the right armed ones. At this point, it's fairly obvious that the only thing keeping her on her feet is the continuous impacts coming from Shinobu. She was almost dead on her feet before though she concealed it well, but this onslaught is going to take any doubt away that she's beaten. Let it be known, sheer physical force works wonders against Ingrid if it breaks past her defenses, and when the beating is over she's laying on her back, out cold.
Shinobu forces herself to stand up straight, and then looks over to the crew. "Um... I think she's kind of hurt." She snaps back, and brings up her fist in case Ingrid is playing possum. She's been surprised enough times this fight. Then, she falls back into the orchids, flower petals bouncing up. "Ah, thanks for the fight... if you can hear me..." Catching her breath, she puts her hand to her chest. "... or I'll just thank you again some other time!"
