Neo League 401 - #425: Gan vs Haggar

Description: When meat impacts with meat, no hit can be called anything but colossal. (Winner: Haggar)

Mike Haggar's been in Southtown for a while now, preparing to go into Thailand to go try and punch Vega's facey bits. The original purpose was training, but after Haggar and Fio basically went through Rose, then Takuma, and then Chizuru like butter, even wild dogs couldn't keep Haggar's confidence in his own ability from soaring. So, without actually anything in the way of training at all, Haggar is now making his final preparations.
The Mayor of Metro sits in the cafeteria, a black, custom-made harness in front of him. He has a lumpy bag on the table next to him, and is removing what might be ammo cartridges from the bag and sliding them in large, rectangular slots.

On closer examination, the 'cartridges' will be revealed to simply be bricks.

In the Southtowns, word spreads rather quickly when certain 'celebrities' of the Neo League are nearby. One of them is, for example, Acacia. A member of Gedo high. And while Gan isn't in the Leage for the fame or anything that would come out of it, he's there to more or less make of for the practice that he had not made it to in the past, and had wasted.

Although he might just be biting off way more than he could chew with this one.

The giant of Gedo high makes his way into the cafeteria, eyes surveying over the place. He's been looking around for Haggar, and only then does he hear a brick rubs against another. Haggar's not hard to spot at all. "You're Haggar, right? And you're in the Neo League if I remember. If you would, I'd like to challenge you."

It may not be the best time, although maybe it might be odd to hear a Gedo High student speaking like that. You might expect something a little more gangish. Then again, Gan isn't exactly the typical student from Gedo.

To Haggar, hearing a kid speak respectfully isn't odd at all! He would've put on a show of paternal disapproval if Gan was sassy, but it wouldn't've really bothered him. As for Gan's status as a student of Gedo High... well, frankly, Haggar doesn't even notice. He mostly keeps to Metro City, and as such is completely ignorant of the whole crazy maelstrom of school fighters, having only tasted it once in a fight with Daigo Kazama himself - a fight neither of them won. The big wrestler - rivalling Gan in size, if not outdoing him - looks up as he's addressed, focus mingled with boredom falling away from his face. Loading a harness with bricks isn't exactly interesting work, after all.
Haggar gives Gan a quick, appraising glance. Big kid. Real big. Carries himself solidly. Looks like he knows which end of a fist is which. Haggar locks eyes with Gan for a moment before breaking into a grin. "The very one. Neo League, huh?" What the hell, he can use a break. "Sure thing, kid! What do they call you?" Haggar gestures with a jerk of his head toward a room with many mats laid out - replacing the wrestling-style ring they had to take away for repairs after his last match.

As Haggar grins, Gan nods at the question. Smiling when he agrees to it. If the rumors made their way that far, then he would certainly be the challenge. Infact, Gan is almost sure, much like Hayato, that Hagger would be to much for him. But this doesn't stop Gan. While he could just practice, this would be much better. Even if it may be a bit short.

"My name's Gan, and I've wanted to join the Neo League sometime. You're pretty well Known in it, as well." And while Acacia, also known, gave him a whole bunch of trouble even with some help Gan isn't one to back down from a possible challenge. Even if the odds don't look good.

The large student, a rather happy grin plastered on his face, makes his way towards the mat filled room and begins to get ready. Raising a foot and then balancing himself evenly with his two large sandals, before crouching down a bit in position.

"They say the strength of all the fighters in the League is immense. I'd like to see that first hand." Because Gan works on the ideals that only through hard work and practice, does one get better! ... At least, he has that idea for studying. And he may have only recently applied this to sumo.

COMBATSYS: Haggar has started a fight here.

Haggar leaves the harness where it is on the bench, swinging his legs over to stand and wheeling his shoulders as he moves for the mat. "Heh... haven't actually done as much in the League as I'd like to. Free time and all that. Still, when the opportunity comes, you grab it!" Now on the mats facing Gan, he rolls his neck with a series of cracks, planting his legs wide and holding out his arms.
"League takes people of all levels. You've got your novices, and your Ken Masters's, and the point system lets them all compete equally... even if usually not directly." He grins, holding out one hand and throwing a "come on" gesture at Gan. Looks like Haggar's giving the Gedo student the first hit!

COMBATSYS: Haggar takes no action.

And when you're given the first hit, you certainly have to oblige. Unless it would become a battle of standing around and waiting! "Then it works out for the best of us." Gan notes, watching as Haggar gets ready and then throws that gesture out to Gan. Being a Gedo student, he certianly has seen that before. "Even if it's not always equal, it's still the challenge." Which Gan will be taking part of.

And then he starts to move. First, slowly, but his movement gets much faster quickly, Gan starting off as just a charge before pulling a shoulder to go first, and moving it into a tackle. Such a large student using his body in such a way certainly could be effective!

And Gan's putting his grit into it too.

COMBATSYS: Gan successfully hits Haggar with Gedo Tackle.

Gan              0/-------/------=|=------\-------\0           Haggar

Haggar sets himself against Gan's charge, planting his feet and spreading his arms. The clear goal here is to take the tackle in exchange for a guaranteed hold on the student, a vital thing in a wrestling style. Gan proves to be a bit more than expected, however, rocking Haggar back and causing him to stumble out of the way. "Hahaha! Good hit!" He grins and slaps his tanktop'd chest, and moves after Gan, going for a grab!
If Haggar manages to get his hands on Gan's shoulders, what comes next is a simple enough move. One huge leg comes around behind Gan's knee, pulling hard to disrupt balance, along with a solid shove to put him down. Smoothly, as he drops, Haggar would like to turn his body to immediately bring an elbow drop to the table before rolling away and getting back to his stance. But will it blend?

COMBATSYS: Haggar successfully hits Gan with Quick Throw.

JUDGES? ... IT BLENDS!

All too well actually. Because after the charge, Gan feels a hand come around his knee after his shoulder, and Gan's shoved down, an elbow drop to the barrel like round-ness of Gan. And boy does it sting is you look at Gan.

Because when Hagger slams him onto the mat, Gan issues almost like a shockwave, his body, tall and wide, slamming heavily upon them as if a ceiling had collapsed, and for Haggar AND Gan to meet the floor, Gan is momentarily winded. He's round but this only serves to end up worse for him. But when he does get up, Gan is able to pull himself up, shake himself off, and come back with all the power that he could muster. It would be over quick, except for a few actions he could think of.

"Now I see.. why you're so high up. But I'm not just going to give up!" And he slams a foot into the mats, bringing his palms back as they charge with chi, energy filling them. Rushing forwards again, putting nothing into defense, Gan smashes a palm forwards filled with energy, muscles tensing as he forces a strength out of him that seems to come from nowhere. His right first, then left, it repeats a few times, arms firing off like a gun shot, a wave of energy rushing forwards with each strike, attempting to finish with a heavy strike to knock him back at the end.

He wouldn't be able to last too long, but Gan would hardly go down without a fight!

COMBATSYS: Gan successfully hits Haggar with Super Gun Stabbing.

"Good! You don't get anywhere by quitting, son!" Haggar grits his teeth as Gan comes again, planning to once again take that blow in such a way that he can work it to his advantage - he grimaces as energy starts swelling, but at least it's not a ball of the stuff. Haggar steps forward into the blow...
And this time, straight out underestimates the /power/ Gan can put out. The strike slams heavily into his pecs, the waves of chi crashing over his body, The last hit bowls him right over, rolling him back. "Whooof!" His hand comes down, catching a mat before he can go to far, the wrestler dragging to a stop and just launching forward again. Bruises blossom on his chest, but Mike Haggar is not a man who lets himself stop for pain. When he nears Gan, he just leaps off the ground, slamming both feet out at the huge student's chest. No fancy tricks, no glowing boots, just good old-fashioned matwork.

COMBATSYS: Gan blocks Haggar's Drop Kick.

Gan              0/-------/------=|=======\-------\0           Haggar

The large massively pec'd man comes towards Gan, leaping into the air and then slams both feet towards the Gedo giant's chest, and slams them solidly into him. However, Gan had been able to bring his massive arms up, the heavy feet of the Mayor slamming into the clothed and bare muscled arms heavily. Yet it does not do all that much to Gan, It causes him to give a little, body sliding slightly on the mats in a testament to the mayors strength.

"I wouldn't quit. Neither would Daigo. I plan to stay in it as long as I can." He actually has a smile plastered on his face.

However, as Haggar lands nearby him, Hagger would also notice Gan raising a heavy foot nearby, bringing it upwards before slamming it into the ground, shock wave of chi following the inital slam into the ground, erupting upwards and out from where his foot has slammed down. His weight also helps the strength of it!

COMBATSYS: Gan successfully hits Haggar with Rough Wave Stomping.

Gan              0/-------/------=|=======\=------\1           Haggar

Haggar makes a quick backflip after landing the kick, smoothly dropping right into his stance JESUS HE'S STOMPING THE GROUND AND MAKING A WAVE OF MATS AND CHI
Haggar tries to pull his arms up, but maybe his throwing down so much in the last three days is wearing him down a bit. His arms are up, but his feet aren't set, and the wave throws him back a little bit. He slides across a mat on a knee, wincing. "Daigo, huh? He's a damn good fighter, you know him?" The mayor pushes back to his feet, a mat gripped in his hand. No way, nobody...
Haggar takes a quick hopping step toward Gan, spinning hard and swinging the entire mat at him, /hard./ Nobody attacks with a mat!

COMBATSYS: Gan interrupts Random Weapon from Haggar with Giant Cyclone.

Gan              0/-------/-======|=======\====---\1           Haggar

As the wave catches Haggar, Gan readies himself on the mat again, watching his opponent come to a rest. "He's the man behind Gedo high, of which I'm honored to be a part of. In each spar, I give as much as I can, as Daigo would." Daigo's a huge role modle. Rather huge. And Gan has taken to deciding his actions a bit under what Daigo would do. Even if it's his own decisions mostly. And then, suddenly, there is a mat straight towards Gan, the HUGE MAT COMING AT HIM. Wait. A huge mat whipped by a huge man.

Gan does what comes natural, and as the mat slams into him, grabs for the arm that holds the mat. It would be completely slammed against him, although the strength at which it is brought owards him strikes the student head on would be removed before long, as Gan has other ideas. Hagger would find himself raised by the student, and then Hagger would find himself airborn, spinning around, being whipped by both hands throuhg the air before he's slammed heavily..

Straight onto the mat, the cyclone of Haggar ending abruptly and perhaps even a bit painfully. Stepping back, Gan heaves, obviously a bit fatigued. He'll continue the gfight as long as he can, though. As long as his body allows him too, marks about his massive arms and head noticeable from the dropkick and the mat, which gave a bit of brushburn! The earlier throw was completely an internal affair.

Well, this is new. I mean, this is what Haggar does, y'know, this whole swing thing, with the spinning? Yeah... yeah. Though ending it with a slam is different.
Haggar had left himself wide open when he swung the mat, tensing all of his muscles toward swinging the hell out of that thing. So he hits, and slides, opening a few scratches and leaving some blood on the floor. He doesn't recover for a while, not rolling to his feet until he's near the corner. He shakes his head out, pushing to his feet and grinning. Now this was a fight! "Not bad, kid... but you can get more power in your spin!" A red haze blossoms around Haggar as he suddenly surges forward, his right hand stabbing out at Gan to knock him down. "Like this--!" (MORE IF)

COMBATSYS: Gan fails to interrupt Giant Swing from Haggar with Giant Storm.

Contact! Haggar's strike knocks Gan right down, and the wrestler immediately goes down to gather Gan's ankles. He twists - for a moment, Gan doesn't move - and then a rush of blood moves through his muscles and he starts to spin, pumping his legs. "Keep your feet... in one spot! A single fulcrum... helps build momentum!" He keeps the swing up until even Gan's bulk is lifted parallel to the ground. "And then... so you don't waste any power..." Haggar surges one more time, simply releasing Gan to let the momentum play itself out. Spectators /dive/ for their lives. Haggar says no more, as this part of his instruction should be clear... and then he sinks down to sit on the floor, his left arm covered with a sheet of red, sweat all over his body.

The right hand knocks Gan over, even as he tries to get a hand out to reverse the throw. Unfortunately, he falls before that. And then Gan is knocked down, Gan being spun around like some kind of weight in the Olympics. Haggar puts alot of muscle behind it as well, and the muscles of Gan, even though it looks like bulk, are raised into the air as Haggard explains.

The red haze was certainly unexpected. And so was the swing. Gan had no idea about it! And as Haggar explains to him, Gan could only listen on, the Gedo High student being launched against, and then through, the wall. The force behind Haggar was immense, and Gan is knocked out cold when he slams on the ground outside.

Or maybe in a hallway! The point is, Gan is unconcious, but not in any life threating ways. He's far more hardy than that.

After a few moments of catching his breath, Haggar pushes to his feet. That kid almost had him - probably got a little too confident after the rest of the week's fights. At least he got that wake-up to take everything seriously before heading into Thailand. The wrestler feeds some money into the soda vending machine, getting a few cans of delicious cold, and then ducks into the cafeteria line, still open for dinner-esque things. He emerges a few moments later, setting all but one of the cans of soda by Gan's head, resting a few sandwiches on top of those. If he's anything like Haggar, he'll wake up hungry. Sipping from his own soda can, Haggar goes to claim his harness and bricks, and go out to find some pipes. He can't go to Thailand without pipes!

COMBATSYS: Haggar has ended the fight here.
