Tenma - Adding to the Ranks

Description: Fresh off his recent SNF victory (as part of a team, but shhh) Tenma Kiryuu clashes with Gedo High student council secretary Kenji Ashima in a close, intense battle... And recruits another member for the Guardian Kings. Perhaps these two facts are connected somehow!

Ahhh, Gedo High. A place of learning, and culture, and punching people in the facemeats. Sure, it's a Sunday, but that doesn't mean there won't be students on campus... Between the few who actually live in the dorms, or who have duties on-campus over the weekend, or just generally don't have anywhere else to hang out, Gedo is still a thriving hub of activity. And after the main event of last night's Saturday Night Fight, which saw one of Gedo's own deal the final blow to knock out /Geese freakin' Howard/ on live television? Boy howdy, you know there's people here!

Including the boy in question, Tenma Kiryuu, who returned from China earlier in the day. Not even his fight after the match with two members of the Pacific Resistance can dull his feeling of victory, especially with many of the other Gedo students cheering him on. It's a good day, and of course Tenma is relaying the story to anyone who'll listen, surrounded by a group of some of his usual hangers-on - though some of the boys around him are around him generally, you know, hate his guts - and even though it all happened on TV, he's added a few embellishments to his own performance in the match, gesturing wildly as he tells them all about how his teammates - especially 'Red', 'Monkey' and 'Zoolander' - were totally useless and it was largely his own efforts that won the match.

Well really, what would you expect from Tenma?

Curry bread. Soba. Ramune. Things such as this await him at home, hidden away in the beautiful vault that is his family's refridgerator. His television, his nice warm bed-- all of it. All of it is there, so why is it that a student like Kenji Ashima is here?

Those dastardly on-campus duties. Being a member of the student council may not speak volumes about him or how others percieve him, but the work is good to reinforce the fact that despite his first day involved punching someone out... he's still trying to be one of the better students at Gedo.

Emerging from the main halls of the school building holding a backpack over his left shoulder, the dark-haired young man idly rubs the ring on his left thumb against the side of his hand as he walks down the steps from the school to the courtyard proper. Lips pursed, his eyes set ahead of him, and whistling, he's one of those few students that doesn't seem to have a care in the world. Not even, say, about the loudmouth with the wild flailing of his arms telling the vivid story of how he singlehandedly brought down Geese Howard.

Hakuya seems to have a pattern with Saturday Night Fights. Since Tenma had convinced him to do his first, he had gone and done it, then he had slumped off the next week. The next, he'd once again been convinced to do an SNF. This week had been another slump off, and it was likely that he would participate in next week's events. But regardless of that, after watching his friend fight last night, he was sorry he had missed this week... for regardless of what tall tales his friend may be saying, it seemed like real fun to face someone that powerful... and he was at least somewhat familiar with the blond haired man that Tenma had fought, for he had been the very one to engage in battle at the Youth Center, some weeks ago.
In any case, Hakuya had been amongst the first of the people to hear Tenma's recount of the story. Practically pulled out of bed and to school, he had been told the story once on the way to Gedo, and since coming here, has heard it at least three more times, and though each time the telling was different, and much more, uh, fanciful... for some odd reason, the Suigetsu heir never called his friend on it, nor did he even give off the slightest impression that what Tenma was saying was untrue or embellished... because, as the Kiryuu exorcist talks, Hakuya's right there with the other Gedites, staring in amazement at the story.
Really, how gullible can you get?

"...And then he gave up, but not without givin' that stuck-up Pacific High bitch the beating of a lifetime," Tenma says, clearly letting his feelings about the members of the Pacific Resistance colour his description of events. That, of course, is how the bulk of the fight ended, but then he had to deal with the treachery of both Marisol /and/ Luc, much as Hakuya did weeks before, when he notices... Someone else in the courtyard. Who isn't transfixed by his awesome story! And who's /actually wearing the school uniform/. "Huh... Oi, Hakuya," he wonders, looking over to the other Guardian King, before lifting his cloth-wrapped bokken to gesture at Kenji. Almost as one, the other students who were listening to Tenma's tale turn to look in the other boy's direction.

"...Who's that guy?" Tenma asks. He's never seen him before at the school!

And almost as if ordained by fate itself, a brisk *brrrring* *brrrrring* sounds out from that odd student in the Gedo uniform, bringing him to a halt not too far away from the Guardian Kings and the crew associated with the pair. Digging out a black and silver cellphone from his pocket, he stares at the display before flipping it open with a smooth snap of the wrist. "Sakuya? ... Yeah? ... No, at school. ... Working. ... ... Yes, working. No. Alright, I'll stop by the store."

Flipping it closed with his fingers, Kenji drops the phone back into his pocket and pulls out a pen, unslinging his backpack to write on the heel of his hand. Slinging his bag back up and holding the pen in his teeth as he caps it, the student council secretary looks back at the gathered students with a passive glance-- and then starts walking to cross the courtyard once more.

Unaccosted?!!

Blinking a little bit from the sudden interruption of the end of the umpteenth telling of the story, Hakuya looks away as Tenma points out the kid in his uniform, looking over the other student, then back to his team mate. Shrugging a little bit, the Suigetsu heir adopts an odd look, like he's confused about something - no doubt a common look for the boy - and then says, "Um... isn't he involved with the student council? I think I saw him on some posters or something awhile ago." The two Guardian Kings don't really pay attention to politics, even school politics, and no doubt Tenma pays even less attention than Hakuya himself does. Really, the hoodied teen only knows himself because he was passing by a few people drawing marks on posters put up about the council. Kenji's picture had been doodled on to make it appear as though he had a crazy mustache, and horns.

"Huh..." Tenma says thoughtfully, as Hakuya provides him with the all-important intel on this mysterious figure. "...We have a student council?" he wonders, scratching his forehead with one end of his cloth-sheathed bokken. He thought Daigo Kazama ran everything as far as the students were concerned! "I wonder if they're strong?" If he hasn't met the guy, then there's no way he can tell if he's worth fighting or not, but he hasn't heard about anybody like that. Still, to be on the student council here, they couldn't be /weak/ right?

Only one way to find out.

"HEY!!" Tenma calls out, towards Kenji, and then he breaks into a dead run towards the student council secretary, in order to catch him before he can get the hell off campus... Swinging his cloth-wrapped weapon at the other boy's head. "Are you strong?!"

It's weird, isn't it? A student council when Gedo has the Man Amongst Men. Still, the young man that seems to be completely unawares of his surroundings startles as suddenly someone yells-- and when he turns, it's that same guy preaching to the hangabouts about his incredible technique. His eyes nearly bug out of his skull. "CHUU!!" he suddenly mis-whistles, back jerking and one leg shuffling out. His bare fist swings upward and launches knuckles-first at the cloth-wrapped weapon, stopping it with a loud SMACK of wrapped wood against bone. His elbow jerking back, he holds the position for a moment while staring at what's bare inches from his face.

"The hell is wrong with you?!!" Kenji returns, still looking mighty disturbed.

Stepping back, the brawling student secretary releases his backpack and allows it to drop unfettered to the ground, sweeping two fingers from his left hand forward and poking at Tenma-- two fingers for a light jab right at his god damn eyes. "I don't have time for this crap!"

"Ohhh..." a faintly impressed noise escapes Tenma at Kenji's guarding of his attack. Not bad, not bad. "Just wanted to see if you're strong or not, Mr. Secretary," the longer-haired boy says, grinning wolfishly. But then Kenji drops his backpack, and goes on the offensive himself, so... It would appear that his challenge is accepted, huh? But an eye poke? Tenma's seen this one before, bringing up his free hand, turned to the side, so Kenji's fingers scissor to either side of it but are unable to actually get Tenma's eyes. "Then I guess you'd better beat me down quick, huh?"

Of course, Tenma's not about to let that happen so easily; the cloth sheath of his bokken is disposed of quickly, and he bites into the flesh of his left thumb, using it to draw a line of blood on his sword. The chi link complete, he swings his bokken through the air, setting it alight with a misty red aura of mingled blood and chi, before he lunges foward, sweeping that chi-charged weapon in a diagonal down to up slash across the other boy's torso. "LET'S GO!!"

Hakuya knows that look in Tenma's eyes. It's the very same look that happened when Tenma attacked him, in well... much the very same way. He'd walked over, said something, then struck out with his sword, which had been dealt with in almost the exact same manner. Seriously, the hoodied teen was getting deja vu, here. Standing up, the other Guardian King isn't exactly as fast the other Gedites, who suddenly jump up and rush over to the sudden, impromptu fight. Watch their new idol fight first hand? Sure, they'll do that. And they know it's going to be a fight, because even if the other guy wusses out, Tenma -won't- and probably won't let him get away. Unlike certain other Kings, who shall remain nameless. Anyway, Hakuya steps up and gets a front row seat for the fight, watching idly with a passive look. Sure, he could fight, too, but... that isn't his style, really.

The strange young man with the clothed-wrapped weapon halts his strike-- just as he stopped the bokken across his knuckles. Well... at least it made for an interesting start. Stepping back to get a little more breathing room, one eye squints while the other widens as he watches Tenma engage his most interesting and most unique weapon. "What the fu-OOOOO--"

His arms shoot forward, his legs shoot backwards, and his body hops into the air, feet thrusting forward to find purchase as he's nearly put in the wringer with the attack at hand. Stepping back in, his leg suddenly whips upward in a swift motion, his speedy blur that is his foot seeking to find a new home in the side of Tenma's head. "SHUDDUP!!"

A faint laugh escapes Tenma as his blade hits nothing at all, sweeping upwards until it runs out of momentum naturally; let the sword sweep fully, don't force it, don't be abrupt with it, he remembers his father telling him. Surrender some control in order to gain complete control. It might seem like a paradox to most people, but most people don't attack you with their blood. The roundhouse kick from Kenji looks interesting enough, which is probably why Tenma doesn't even /try/ to avoid it, instead letting it smash into the side of his head, knocking him to one side...

But not far enough as he catches himself, twisting, and then throwing himself forward in a rising, whirling motion. He swings his chi-charged bokken around as he rises, trying to take Kenji up with him before knocking him back and away with a powerful, turning strike! "HAAAAAAAA-!!"

It was a nice kick, but -- what the hell, taking the hit with no attempt to dodge or block?! In such an odd position, the speed of his leg and the momentum gained work to his advantage. Crossing his hands over each other, Kenji catches the forceful strike and literally -rides- the chi and the swing upward into the air.

With the pair airborne, the dark-haired brawler suddenly snaps up his arm in a manner that looks fairly fast, fairly strong, and fairly certain that it's going to plant into Tenma's face and drive -him- back into the ground. "HAH!!"

COMBATSYS: Tenma fails to interrupt Missile Fist from Kenji with Initial Breaker.

Well, that's new; Tenma actually hasn't seen anyone do anything like that before, especially not to that particular attack. So maybe it sets him a bit off-balance, who knows. Especially since they're, you know, in the air. But when Kenji goes to punch him in the head, the swordsman quickly pulls his weapon back, and then thrusts it out at the brawler at the exact same moment....!!

...But it's not quite enough. He misses, it seems, deflected by Kenji's punching arm, so that chi-charged bokken brushes right by the other boy's face as Tenma gets hit and then knocked back towards the ground, smashing into it roughly. But he's not done. Oh no, never that; moments later, Tenma's already getting back to his feet, a wide smirk on his face. "You /are/ pretty good, ain't ya?"

Pausing in the air after the punch connects, the young man's shoulder turns into the strike and brings his body along with it. Dropping to the ground, he takes two steps back and settles. Shaking his fist out, the Gedo brawler blows an angry sigh out. "You're pretty good at runnin' your god damn mouth." Sliding off his ring, the Missle from Osaka tucks the small accessory into his pocket and starts grinding his toe into the ground.

"HHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH~!"

Blazingly bright light-- -bright- chi, tinted light blue, burns away at the edges of his arms. It burns brightly and hovers in place almost like a sparkler or firework in the midst of this, his hair rustling and his baggy pants rippling in a light wind. "COME ON!! You haven't seen a thing yet!"

COMBATSYS: Kenji gathers his will.

Honestly, Tenma saw a lot of this going differently, but that's not necessarily a bad thing... He's actually quite intrigured by Kenji's abilities, and to see what else the other Osakan is capable of. Watching the other youth gather his energy, Tenma can actually... /Feel/ it, his unusual training having given him quite a good sensitivity to such things. Very interesting. "Funny," he says, at the other Gedite beckoning him on. "I was just gonna say the same thing."

Rushing forward suddenly, Tenma pulls his weapon back, and as he gets closer to Kenji he ducks low, swinging his bokken almost fully behind himself, and then throws himself into a horizontal leap, swinging his chi-charged bokken in a wide arc as he gets closer. "Try this on for size!!"

Waiting for Tenma to draw closer as the energy remains gathered in his forearms, Kenji's furious expression and the energy contained in his hands stays ready and waiting for a path to release-- and as Tenma comes close, her forearms lift and allow the bokken to crash against them, the weapon shoving his arms back with a forceful smack against his chest and causing him to slide backwards on his heels.

"My sister hits about as hard as you."

His right arm reels back at that moment, his eyes going fierce and the bright blue chi focusing into his hand. True to the moniker the technique has, Kenji's fist blazes forward with incredible force, leaving a streak of light blue light in it's wake and briefly projecting beyond Tenma, hit or miss-- and channeling all of that force right at the bokken-slinging thug's chest. "HYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--!!"

This could probably be going better for Tenma, couldn't it? Kenji is obviously tougher than the Kiryuu exorcist previously gave him credit for, blocking his powerful strike like that. Tenma rides the recoil back a few feet, only to see Kenji heading his way with some kind of blazing chi attack... So naturally, the taller boy stands his ground against it. But the attack hits harder, and faster, than he expected, ruining his timing for a potential followup attack... Or did it?

"Guess your sister hits pretty hard, maybe I should be fightin' her instead of your sorry ass?" Tenma wonders, biting off the taunt despite the fact that, that kinda hurt! Instead of bitching about it though, he instead lunges forward again, swinging his bokken in a wide arc... That's nowhere close enough to actually /hit/ the other boy. Until, that is, a crescent wave of blood and chi screams out in the wake of the sweeping motion, roiling fluid and energy aiming to smash right into the other fighter. "TRASH!!"

*sssssshhhhhhhhhhh* The sound burns in the air for a few moments before the blazingly bright light dims out to nonexsistance-- and hopefully nobody sitting on the curb was looking directly at the center of it when the attack went off. Either way now, Kenji's fist remains set back from Tenma's body, locked in his follow-through for a few moments.

Standing back at a ready stance, his arms steady to defend against the attack with good timing-- but the attack blows beyond the young man's defenses, sending him sprawling backward to land on his ass and roll, shifting off his back and shoulder to land in a crouch, elbows at rest on his knees as he skids to a stop. "Nah. She likes guys that can actually shower." Rubbing his chest with the heel of his hand, Kenji offers Tenma only a grin as he rises up and runs ahead, reaching out to not just run past Tenma on his right, but to bring up his right arm and grab him by the shoulder. His left hand goes for the bokken-slinger's waist, and the brawler attempts to pick him up off the ground and -slam- him down on his back. "Huu--RAGH!"

Yeah, that's the ticket; Tenma's quite pleased to see his launched chi do a number on the other Gedo boy, though of course Kenji's back on the attack soon after... Anything less would just disappoint Tenma. "Heh," is Tenma's laughed response to the other fighter's insult, a smirk meeting Kenji's grin, but when the other boy tries to grab him on the way past, his hands get... Nothing at all. Rather, Tenma ducks under the grabbing hand and propels himself forward, deftly avoiding the grapple.

"Not so fast there!" Tenma calls back, twisting on one heel to suddenly change directions, lunging back /at/ Kenji and thrusting his chi-charged bokken out in a lunging strike, fully extended in a one-handed grip, trying to catch the other fighter on his vulnerable side. "You still ain't got what it takes to stop me, Mr. Secretary!!"

Shi-- Stopping and twisting to get into a defensive position, Kenji feels the painful, chi-powered bokken crack against his ribs as he tries to set his lean form into a new stance.

Staggering hard to one side, Missile Fist Ashima sputters and turns around, charging Tenma and stomps his foot down. "It ain't over until it's over!" the young man retorts-- and punctuates this by a sharp step forward and a leg lifted to kick the bokken-wielder right up between the legs... right in the little bokken.

"Good sentiment!" Tenma says, in response to Kenji - it's true, it's never over until it's well and truly over. That's an important rule to always remember and live by. And then, of course, Tenma gets kicked in the balls. He doesn't even try to avoid it, he doesn't even budge an inch, instead gritting his teeth and letting the strike hit home, and good golly does it hurt... But it doesn't hurt enough.

Instead, Tenma thrusts his left hand forward, fingers lightly contorted in a mudra position, palm out, holding it right in Kenji's face while his stance shifts and his bokken swings back, focusing his energy there, focusing it completely and singlemindedly, until the crimson glow of blood and chi completely obscures the wooden weapon. And then, he swings it forth, to slash Kenji right across the body with it, and if it hits... His chi goes /through/ the other boy, disrupting the flow of energy there on a grand scale, stealing vitality and leaving behind a cold, numbing chill... "BUT IT'S OVER NOW!!"

The technique tears through Kenji without mercy, causing the young man's back to arch and his body to go limp... and eventually dropping. Falling to his knees and slumping forward, the student councilman breathes deep and hard as he works to fight through the pain and regain his senses.

Just when it looks like it's over, just as it seems as though Tenma's exerted his dominance over the Osakan brawler... he starts to stand up. Dusting off his jacket and the pants of his uniform, he sets about checking his sleeves to see how damaged they are-- how damaged his entire outfit is. "Pwhew..."

Turning his side to Tenma, his arm lifts and he points dramatically. "It isn't over until I say it's over, you hear?!"

It's rare, honestly, that anyone's managed to really deal with that particular attack... Which is probably why it's Tenma's most powerful. Only two people he's used it on since he arrived in Southtown... Only two of them have managed to stop it or avoid it. "Whatever you say /Mr. Secretary/," Kiryuu says with a confident smirk at that dramatic point. Indeed, it's his feeling that Kenji can say what he wants... They'll both see what happens in fact.

Rushing forward once more, Tenma keeps his chi-charged bokken in front of himself, the red glow having died back to its usual intensity, and when he gets close enough, he sweeps his blade out at Kenji's presented side, under his ribs, as he keeps moving /past/ the brawler. The decisive blow?!

But at random points throughout this battle, it seems as though dumb luck has smiled down on Kenji-- and brought the battle to sway around to and fro in his favor. The good Lady Luck smiles again as Kenji's insight on Tenma's stance while he draws close becomes clear... and with a sharp step back, he manages to evade the point of the bokken rather well!

Stepping after the bloody swordsman, his hands clap together and his arms lift over his head, sweeping down to rain a hammerblow on the student's back. "SIDDOWN!"

That's certainly impressive enough, the way Kenji manages to avoid Tenma's attack; the swordsman is impressed! But not impressed enough to just lay down and stop the fight. Instead, he actually takes the hammerblow full on, and though the impact shudders through his body, Tenma himself doesn't move. "Heh... Not good enough," he declares, twisting around to aim a kick at Kenji's gut...

...And then keep twisting, bringing his bokken to bear as he generally tends to, sweeping it in a wide arc right at the side of the other Gedo boy's throat and head, hoping to knock him clear off his feet with a ferocious blow, and end this little tussle. ...Which he started. "HAAA-!!"

The dismay on the young Ashima brawler's face is impossible to deny as Tenma turns around-- and in both pose and angle, Kenji is at a position that makes it hard to really defend. Bringing up his knee, the secretary stops the strike at his gut with a collision of legs, following up with a swift backhand to stop the bokken dead in the air. "Broken records--"

At this point though, the 'demon hunter' actually starts laughing aloud, to the extent that he almost misses responding to Kenji's own attack, but the student council secretary's fist hits his chi-charged bokken rather than his face or anything. And still, Tenma laughs.

"You... Ha ha ha! You're an interestin' guy," Tenma says, flicking his wrist to snap the tip of his bokken upwards, into the underside of Kenji's chin and jaw. Why? Because! "How 'bout you join my team?!" They do need extra bodies after all... And they might as well recruit somebody worthwhile.

"Team, eh?" Twisting his arm back and shifting his stance, the moment of dialogue is just enough to distract him-- distract him into getting the smack of the bokutou under the jaw, his head jerking back as his iron resolve keeps him from falling flat on his ass. His left leg hooks up in front of himself, his eyes gone wide and head still tilted back. "I'll decide on this."

His leg hooks back around and his body rocks into perfect motions. There's no influx of chi, no surges of energy or massive special powers involved in this. Still-- there's that forboding feeling of something horrible on the horizon... Taking two steps, his body snaps like a whip, knuckles aimed to do nothing more than hit Tenma.

That's more like it, Tenma thinks to himself as he feels the satisfying resistance of hitting somebody in the freaking jaw. Letting the blade ride out its momentum in an upwards arc, the taller Gedite pulls his weapon back in as Kenji makes his declaration, and then the attack comes with frightening speed and probably quite a bit of power, but... At the moment, Tenma has no idea, because the strike never hits anything, as he instead ends up slipping under it, around Kenji and behind him, lightly tapping his chi-emanating weapon against the back of the student council member's neck. "You lose," the arrogant boy declares.

"So I guess that means you gotta join our team, huh? Name's Tenma. Tenma Kiryuu."

COMBATSYS: Tenma has ended the fight here.

The crowd bursts into applause at the end of the match. Or, well, it's not really applause, but more rowdy yelling and cheering. A close and intense match that showed two things: their idol was still a badass, and part of their student council was apparently really tough, even though he lost. Hakuya, as for himself, seems a little confused - but what's new? Stepping forward out of the crowd, he glances towards Kenji, then Tenma. "Are you sure you want to do that, Tenma?" His tone doesn't suggest that he's doubtful of Kenji, just not sure what Tenma is thinking. But, he overcomes that instantly, as he looks to Kenji, and smiles. "Hakuya Suigetsu, the other member of his team. You're pretty strong, I can see why Tenma would like you to join us."

The kind of punch that makes one think the fist is much larger and more threatening-- the kind of punch that could decapitate a lesser student in no time. The kind of punch ... that completely misses it's mark.

Kenji's eyes go wide as he feels the wooden sword tap against the back of his neck in the middle of his follow-through, his arms left to hang at his sides as he slowly straightens up and grins offhandedly. "I guess I did."

Straightening his jacket and dusting off his sleeves one more time, the secretary of Gedo High's Student Council-- as amazing as it is they have one-- turns around to face the swordsman and the silent young man that stayed out of the battle, hands dropping into his pockets as he offers a bit of a grin. "Kenji Ashima. I'll get you next time."

Of course Tenma is sure! Does questioning him /ever/ yield results? He rests his bokken against his shoulder, and as he does the red aura around it fades entirely, the crimson line of blood he drew down the side of the blade now vanished. "Ashima, huh?" Tenma repeats, his free hand resting in the pocket of his slacks. "Guess we'll see if you can. 'course, since you're joinin' up with us, you might get the chance to in the future, and in the meantime fight some other strong people. And those Pacific High losers to, eh Hakuya? Red and her bunch." Who knows how many allies Marisol has by now? It doesn't matter to Tenma! They'll beat the crap out of any of them, anywhere, anytime!

Obviously questioning doesn't do anything! Good, anyway. Which is why Hakuya doesn't do it beyond the initial confused questioning. At Tenma's questioning, he looks over to the swordsman, and blinks confusedly at him for a moment, before looking up. "Well, they are strong..." he says, but doesn't really agree with the 'loser' part. Looking back to Kenji, he gives the new team mate a smile, and nods his head a bit. "But... yes, since you are from Gedo, you should probably expect trouble from anyone from Pacific High. They seem to have entered into a rivalry with us." He then turns to Tenma, and looks curiously at him. "Ramen?" He asks, as if that's all he needs to say. "I suppose it's my turn to pay..."

Walking over to his backpack and picking it up, he slings the stylized bag over his shoulder and fishes that ring out of his pocket, wiggling it on with a deft manuver of his thumb and index finger. "Pacific High, eh? I hear the lot of them are about as uptight as you can get."

Pulling out his cellphone-- amazingly not crushed in the course of their battle-- Kenji checks the time on the small digital display and sighs. "Well. I'd love to join you two girls, but I've got to stop by the store and get the hell home." Shifting his posture, the brawler starts walking away from the pair again-- and this time, finally, he'll get the chance to leave.

Unaccosted?!!

"Later! Don't get into too much trouble while I'm not here."

Yes, but Tenma's opinions don't always have that much to do with logic. Or internal consistency. But that doesn't matter! Instead, the tallest of the three boys looks over to Hakuya. "Yeah, ramen sounds good," he agrees, but then... Kenji is leaving! Errands to run, clearly. Or maybe he has a girlfriend?! "Yeah, you go be responsible, Mr. Secretary," Kiryuu says, and yeah he'll get away unaccosted this time. "C'mon, Hakuya," he adds to his friend, stooping to retrieve the cloth sheath for his bokken. "Guess we oughta celebrate even if he's not comin' with."
