Neo League 351 - #375: Himeko vs Drake

Description: Hurricane Hime and Domino duke it out in one of the worlds largest libraries, the Harvard University Library! Hime's first big match is certain to be a legend in it's own right, if the tabloids weren't lying. And they very well could have been. :( (Winner: Drake)

Everyone better hold onto their backsides, because this match.. Yes, this one is going to be quite a doozy! Today's league match takes two fighters to the heart of Massachusetts, or at least a pretty big part of it, and one of the united states most saught after universities, Harvard U! And even more specific than that, Harvard University's library, one of the largest in the world, it seemed like the perfect place, Himeko thought, to debut her very first official match! And boy, the statistics DO NOT LIE. There are just rows and rows and rows and floors of books everwhere, listed in alphabetical order and such. Of course it's very well lit as well, but the particular area that the combatants get to fight in is a pretty special area, because no matter where you go, quiet is very important. The fight is to take place on the third floor, within a soundproofed reading room. It's an area about as large as a classroom, with a stairwell that goes to the second floor. Chairs, tables and books are littered everywhere, but luckily all of them are just dummies, in case destruction is to happen.

However, the invitation sent to Drake isn't from Himeko, but rather a young girl by the name of 'Hurricane Hime', said dusky skinned girl standing atop one of the tables with her arms crossed and somehow a passing breeze flapping the giant scarf she wears. Her glasses are nowhere to be seen, and in all honesty, it probably is a little difficult because of that to be sure the girl waiting is, in fact, Himeko. Her dark pink bodysuit making it impossible for her to be missed, and a confident grin on her face, Hime waits .. Waits.. Waits! for Drake to arrive, white the many interested audience takes stand at the walls of the room. Many seem to think she looks a little odd. Others seem to have thoughts that'd have them sent to the slammer.

And when Drake arrives, he's looking -quite- different from how most seem him day by day. The individual who ascends the stairs is neither a punk, nor a prizefighter, but a distinctly stylish gentleman.
Or hitman, depending.
Domino reaches the top of the steps to the applause of the spectators, whom he greets with a soft smile. His hands, currently covered in black leather riding gloves, lift to quieten the cheering. Once it's subsided, his right hand moves to his face to set his index finger over his lips.

"Shhh."

Sly smile now on his face, Domino saunters to the center of the room and begins to pull off his gloves neatly, finger-by-finger. Once plucked off, the gloves are tucked into his jacket pockets.

Hurricane Hime is... Well in for a bit of a suprise, and is mildly confused. It'd seem for a moment she had forgotten that Drake was, in fact, a wrestler, but now he looks different and way cooler! Somehow it's just different from seeing it on television, but it brings a smile to the young fighters lips, "Haha, there's no worries about being quiet here! Allow me to tell you my name!" the girls voice, it isn't overly loud, but it's definatly trying to pass off the 'superhero' tone, her arms uncrossing to hold out her palms, "I am the protector of Taiyo High school! I promote higher education, and.." she thrusts her left arm outward, hand clenched in a fist, "The importance of reading! The practitioner of the strongest style.. Hurrican Hime!"

The girl springs off of the table, and seems to trip in mid air, slamming painfully to the floor face first. But immedietly jumps to her feet, hands on her hips, "I've been waiting for you, Domino! To partake in great battle! Are you ready to fight?"

COMBATSYS: Himeko has started a fight here.

Domino turns to face the Hurricane, arms folding neatly over his chest with a jet black eyebrow quirked at her skeptically. Her introduction is amusing enough - though this is hard to see, due to the wide visorshades he wears over his eyes - though that crash landing has him concerned. It's a momentary concern, however. She seems well enough now.
For the sake of theatrics, Domino rolls with the girl's intro. He turns aside from her with a smirk, arms unfolding to pinch the rim of his shades between the thumb and index finger of his right hand. "Noble enough ambitions, but you seem a bit flawed. Your first mistake is thinking your style is the strongest - that's reserved for Domino-style wrestling. The second mistake was challenging me."
An almost demure smile sets to the model's lips. "Hurricane Hime!"
The right hand swipes off his shades and casts them into the air. He turns swiftly to face her again, left hand cleanly snatching the shades out of the air and tucking them neatly into an inner pocket of his suit jacket.

"I'm about to go Pecos Bill on your ass."

COMBATSYS: Drake has joined the fight here.

Himeko sets her hands on her table, her eyes squinting slightly, then return to normal, seeming amused enough by her opponents response. She nods her head on occassion, "Mmmm, yes, as usual I face a dillusional opponent. But not to worry, I'll show you the error of your ways, with my kicks.. And my book!" Himeko leaps onto another table, reaching into her scarf and draws out a textbook sized paperback book, with no title on the cover. She then pauses briefly.

And her dark cheeks darken a bit more, "Wh.. What?? Just what are you insinuating, Domino? I'll have you know in this country that isn't even legal!" and she leaps off of the table again, this time getting a little more air, flips, and attempts to come down on the wrestling with a simply executed heel-drop kick, aimed for the mans shoulder, "We'll see who's made what mistake, ok? Kyaah!"

By this point, the spectators are snickering amongst themselves. The more boisterous of the observers are laughing, even. Domino responds with a facepalming. Hoi-vey.
It is, unfortunately, this facepalming that opens up a straight path for Drake's shoulder. The heel connects, and Domino takes a step back. His expression turns more detached, stoic - possibly even cold. Amethyst eyes narrow on the girl, and he moves back in towards her. His arms reach out to grab her by the shoulders, turn a quick spin, and chuck her at the table she lept from a moment ago.
Nothing fancy about the attack. But very direct.

For the time being, the reaction of the crowd is ignored. To be honest, she wasn't exactly sure it'd be possible to win over this crowd, since this is america and her opponent is Domino. But she'll do her best to put on a respectable match! How far will her antics carry her today?

The shift of expression doesn't escape the little hurricanes eyes though, and she's not sure if it's just a play or not. Shoulders grabbed, she's then flung toward the table, and through amazing athletic ability, twists in the air, and lands on her feet atop it! But slips, dropping to one knee, and plays it off as a crouch, "Not bad! I can tell this will be a tough match for sure! I guess I'll have to give you everything from the start! ... The um.. Start after I threw the kick, that is. But let me ask you this: Are you man enough to stop me?" Hime grins, buying herself a little time to script out a good strategy.

Domino makes no attempt to close back in on her. Instead, a dry, humorless smirk touches to his lips. The amethyst eyes narrow upon her again. She has some decent acrobatic capability. That's a bit surprising. So he sets his mind to survey her for an opening in her defenses.

"You know what's funny about hurricanes?"

Domino turns aside to her, taking his stance - a shallow front stance, his left foot forward. His hands remain open, the right hand hovering at chest level and the left hand angled downwards before him.

"They always start loud, then blow themselves out."

The left hand lifts in a single, sweeping beckon towards her.

"Bring it."

Himeko's shoulders buckle slightly as she simply responds to Domino with a little chuckle. She hops off the table, tosses her book from hand to hand, and then blinks in sudden realization. Her lips move, no words come out, then her lips move again,
"Nuh uh!!" she very intelligently retorts, "That's not what kind of hurrican I am! You just watch!"

Himeko picks up a bit of speed then, racing toward Drake like a little bullet and her left hand, the one with the book is drawn toward her stomach.

And then at the last moment she whips that weapon out and upward, hoping to smash Domino right under the chin with the spine of her book, and leaps into the air to further the momentum and knock him back.. And should that attack even land, he'd definatly feel a breeze blowing back his hair, "Hyyaaaah!"

Domino's expression remains fairly stoic and alert. He waits for her as she rushes in, in fact. Once the strike is made, his arms lift to block the initial strike of the book, absorbing the most of the shock along the forearms. That isn't to say the rest of the attack is lost on him, however. He's pushed back a step, hair ruffed by the wind.
Though Domino turns quickly to keep in speed with her, waiting for her to land. Once she does, he attempts to hook his left arm around her neck in a forward headlock. If caught, he drapes her left arm behind his neck, and he grabs ahold of her left hip with his right hand. Her body is hauled into the air and suspended upside-down for a couple seconds before he drops back, aiming to slam her back down heavily against the floor.

Himeko is experienced with a little bit of grappling.. It may not be wrestling grappling but Himekos jiu jitsu tips definatly work in Himeko's favor! Drake aaaalmost gets to cinch in that headlock, but before he can, Hime pushes at his arm and escapes so he's clutching down on air. Whew! But now it's time for her to retaliate, and she does so simply enough- Assuming his back is still to her, she'd rear back her hand and chop the flat of her book right into Drake's back. Though if he turns around, it'd hit somplace else... She really isn't too picky, "Take this!"

COMBATSYS: Himeko successfully hits Drake with Weapon Jab.

Domino finds the girl to be.. a surprisingly speedy bugger. Managing to keep free of his grapple, he's struck in the back. It sends him forward a step and he shoots an agitated look back at her. In a quick, sudden movement, Domino skips into the air and whirls to face her in the same movement, bringing his left fist out in a strong hook punch aimed for her cheek. The end result brings the wrestler model to a crouched position.

A big punch that could have quite possibly knocked the girls block off at that! On the bright side, at least, it's readable enough for her to put up a defense; not by jumping around like a jumping bean, but rather using her book, the girl holds it up with both hands, letting the fist slam into it. Suprisingly enough it feels like hitting a hardcover book rather than a floppy softcover, "Oof!" the girl huffs.
But she still shows no fear, in fact the spunky heroine leaps backward, and reaches for her holster, grabbing a handful of index cards, and when her arm whips forward, the cards snap outward like a whip, toward Drakes ankle where it would wrap around twice and lock in. A firm jerk of her arm would force him to flip into the air and on his back, forcing the cards link to break and flutter to the floor like snow, "Here, have a free trip!"

Domino lands in his crouched position, fist.. surprisingly feeling as though he struck something more solid than a girl's face. Wait.. he hit the book? Huh. Good reflexes on her part. Though when the cards are whipped out, Domino's eyes narrow on her.
Or more specifically, her outstretched arm.
Unlike what most would do in a situation like that, the nimble wrestler kicks off the floor into an acrobatic twirl bringing him -in- towards his attack just alongside the strewn cards. The outstretched arm is grabbed into one of his hands swiftly, and his other arm hooks between her legs to hoist her body upwards. Once in the air, he simply turns and drops aside with her, bringing her down flatly on her back and landing his midsection across hers in a powerslam.

Hurrican Hime was most certainly not expecting that display of athleticism! It seems like she's not the only nimble one in this match which makes things.. Well.. Interesting! Her arm clutched and cards falling to the floor, her jaw drops slightly, and then suddenly she's taking a ride instead, "H- Hey, leggo! OOf!"

She didn't mean let go with a power slam of course, that one definatly knocks her for a bit of a loop and the moment she comes too, rolls back a little into a crouch, cringing a bit. That one definatly would leave a mark, "Ow.. Ok! Plan B!" Standing, she winds up her arm, and then darts forward again, her reach slightly high, this time she attempts to grip the man by his top, lean in to press her hip into his front and take him down with a classic seoi nage, "My turn!"

Domino pulls himself into a quick backroll from the girl, landing in a low crouch. He raises to his full height and assumes his stance again, clearly at the ready. His expression remains almost steely, observing the girl closely.
As she runs in, Domino smoothly slips aside of the grab attempt and pulls a brisk spin to relocate himself behind the girl, ending him back into his stance. Though immediately upon setting back, his forward hand snaps upwards and outwards in a reverse knifehand strike aimed for the base of her neck.

Ohyikes.. Ok.. Well, it seems conventional methods won't be working on Drake for a little while, he's faster than he lets on! The little hurricane stumbles slightly when she misses her grab, in fact, when she does completely wiff, she teeters and then falls onto the floor, leaving Drake just chopping at her scarf flapping behind her. Truely a dodge of the ages.. Truely.

Hime then scrambles like a bug along the floor, turning around quickly to see that Drake actually isn't attacking her! (Because he missed, but she doesn't know that!) ".. H.. Haha! Paralyzed with fear, huh? As well as you should be, but it's something you should overcome! In fact, there is a very good book written by I.C. Clearly that explains how to overcome phobias! It's an excellent read!" Stall stall stall. She needs a way to get fast!

Domino assumes his stance again. Huh. Neck spared by simple dumb luck. Dumb luck's dumb. Therego, it's named appropriately. The wrestler gives a smug sort of 'hmh' sound to her chit-chat, and he glances aside.
A stack of books on a desk. How convenient.
The amethyst eyes return to Hurricane Hime, and something of a devilish smile takes to his lips.

"Try reading -this-."

Domino's hand flashes out to the side to swipe a book off the top of the stack. He turns a blurringly fast spin to pick up momentum, then chucks Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" at her head.

Reading what? What? Domino's getting clever, but he's not going to get the last laugh so long as Hime is on the case! She crosses her arms again as she stands up, seems slightly puzzled, and then seems to think it's a good idea to lean backward to cleanly evade that problematic projectile, "I've already read that on- OWWW!"

Leaned back, but not enough to avoid getting whalloped by the book that's for sure, she got beaned in the forehead! She slaps her gloved hand over it, hisses lightly, and then just goes on to run in anyway, "That hurt!!" she declares, and she seeks revenge! This time she's going to run at Drake, drop into a slide and kick Domino right in the shins, "I'm serious!"

Domino smirks in amusement. Well, the book hit its target, leastways. When she comes charging in to attack him with a slidekick, the dark-haired model slips aside the kick and steps his own foot out. Not to strike her, per se, but to push down on her collar and stop the motion completely. Just lay her flat on her back right there on the ground with his foot.
Without a second's warning, Domino leaps away from the girl to land perched upon the nearest desk, back turned to Hurricane Hime. His right fist thrusts into the air to rile up the spectators for only a second before he leaps off his short pedestal.
The leap itself is as high as is feasible in a room of this size, body turning in an almost lazy backflip, aimed to end with Drake splashing his abdomen across hers in a heavy moonsault.

Himeko is a girl who is very very.. Well.. She'll give out a helping hand on ocassion when the situation calls for it! She lay there on the ground for a moment, a little confused expression on her face, and then glances to the crowd when they roar in a cheer.

Whaat? What are the cheering for? She doesn't see anything! Not a thing at al- WOAH! "Eeeek!" Dropping Drake alert and as he comes down she tucks in her knees, Holds her book in front of her face rather than.. You know, get out of the way. So he splashes a little ball of defense, which she springs him off with the softcover, "Yaah!" a light hop and she's on her feet again, panting a bit, "O- Ok! From the top!"

Himeko grabs her litte stack of cards, and she again throws them out like a whip, and if she has her way, it'd wrap about his neck and then the about his face, clenching in tight, "Haaaaa-" another jerk would force him toward her, her hip pushed out to hit his own, hoists over the shoulder and performs another seoi nage slam, though this one is much cooler looking! "Hyah!" The choke would break at this point, but the cards still stick to his face like little white post-its.

Domino lets out a 'grk' sound as he collides with her balled up form. Fortunately he's tough enough to not be deterred too much by dropping his weight onto knees. At least, not from a small thing like her. So he gets back to his feet and gives her an agitated look. But before he really knows what's happening, the cards whip about his neck and apply a choke. He's flung to the ground and he gets back up almost immediately, giving her a pointed look. His hands lift to quickly brush off the clinging cards after a second.
The wrestler model moves in quickly towards her, apparently intent on keeping the heat on the girl. Though just before entering strike range, Domino shrugs his right shoulder back and turns into a swift, graceful spin to step him in at her right side. At the very moment the spin ends, his right fist snaps upwards towards her cheek in a solid backhand.

".. What?" The little hurricane asks when given the look. Is she not allowed to have a moment to rock out? However her serious expression doesn't last long, because for a moment there he did look pretty goofy with that papers stuck to his face, the girl snickering lightly, and then coughs to clear her throat.

Drake is on the prowl again, but Himeko is ready! Her book is raised just in time to take the damage of that pretty powerful looking backhand, "Nngh!" but the force still makes her stumble back a couple of steps. But she's back on him in little time, she looking to return the favor but from a lower perspective, her arm snaps back and then swipes at Domino's knee with the flat of her book, "Hyaah!"

Domino's fist strikes the book with a loud WHACK, and his fist remains in position for a second longer. Hmph. Struck the book again, he sees. He quickly sets back into his stance, and he sees the book coming at his lower half in time to react. He does this by lifting the knee, toughening the leg to deflect the shot and balance keenly on the other leg. Immediately afterwards, Domino sets into a lower stance, left arm attempting to hook the girl's head in another forward headlock.

Um.. Himeko knows a bit about chokes, so for a moment she's pretty sure that Drake is going for one.. What kind, she isn't sure, but it's comin', and she's going to be ready for it! She can't use her book to help during this one so she's just going to have to rock out.

And by rock out she means pretend she's going to break out with her book again and get DDT'd straight to the floor for her efforts. There's quite a thump from both body's hitting the ground, but even though she doesn't move for a moment, she manages to groan out an, "... I'm ok.." while facedown.

Domino releases her neck once the girl is driven against the floor, and he curls up onto his shoulders. In a single graceful movement, he kips up to his dress shoes and peers down at the girl.
Huh. Prone.
Domino decides to take the chance while it's available. He hops into the air and turns his body aside. His right elbow juts out on his descent, aiming to bear it down against the girl's back.

An elbow drop. All right, so Himeko can't see it coming, being in a slightly dazed state, but she's just going to have to rely on luck to scramble out of this situation, and she sets her hands on the floor and pushes herself up for no particularly good reason. The downside to this is that she ends up getting bopped right into the falling attack, the girl thumping into the floor again with a heavy, "Unnnnnnnnnnnnh!!" somehow a bit of wind was knocked out of her. With a light sputter, she rolls off to the side, roll roll roll and when she gets a little distance, her index cards are grabbed, and she whips her arm forward- Oh yeah, the paper whip is shooting out toward Drake, but what's going to happen THIS time??

Domino then turns to face the girl who's apparently still fighting. Huh. Well, a lot of opponents would've been ready for a pin by now. He has to give her that much credit, at least. When the cards lash out again, Domino slips aside from them and rushes in towards the girl's hopefully unprotected side. Domino's smooth double-strike lands only on air. The sharp kneestrike is halted before he gets thrown off balance, and his foot pulls back to re-enter his stance. In an instant to prepare for what must be an oncoming counter attack, the dark-haired model skips back a short distance.
When Himeko takes to the air, a smirk plays on Domino's lips.
The wrestler waits until she's nearly upon him before he launches himself in the air with a butterfly kick. The kick strikes under the girl's chin to halt her forward motion completely, the motion of the butterfly kick pulling his body completely clear of her intended attack. Though the kick actually sends her upwards into the air, with him still on the ascent. His body twists in a second smooth butterfly kick, this time the foot swinging out for her midsection to bash her away from him with enough force to drive a body to the wall, if not through it, dependant on how sturdy the walls are.
After the delivered strikes, Domino lands in a neat, hunkered crouch, amethyst eyes narrowed on his female opponent.

Ooooh wow boy and OUCH. Is this the end of Hurricane Hime?

Is there any hope of her managing to get back up and land the final blow of pure and utter destruction at Domino? Or is she doomed to be nailed by those suprisingly cool kicks, and blasted away right into those walls? "UNGH!" she slams into the wall and it definatly rattles, but.. Hmmn, it would seem that something cushioned her blow, because her velocity had slown down on the way back.

Her book is held between her palms like a gun, thumbs crossed, and as she slowly slides down the wall, her scarf whips upward, "HaaAAAAAAAAAA!!" the sound of paper shredding fills the air, and she rapid-fires twenty sheets of paper, one by one right out of it. This isn't any normal paper of course, if any of them slam into Drake it will feel anything but plesent, it'd be like getting hit by bricks!

Domino grits his teeth and narrows his eyes on the female as she begins to.. seemingly sprout projectiles. Strange, how she does that. But he doesn't warrant himself enough time to think about it. Instead, the agile wrestler goes on the defensive. He springs into a backflip to evade the first few pages, landing in a handstand on one of the desks. He then springs from his handstand position to land on his feet on the other side of the desk, evading the last few sheets of paper.
Once the attack has seemingly subsided, Domino rushes in towards the downed girl and quickly lifts his right leg to chamber it, foot cocked at an angle that's just ready to send a sidekick into her face.

"Do you concede defeat?"

Himeko whews, her forearms on her knees, and panting heavily to try and catch her breath so she can fight again. But.. She's just not feeling that burst of energy anymore, it seems the hurricane has come to an end... Or has it??

Himeko squints her eyes again and doesn't even flinch when the kick comes her way. That is because when it stops and he asks that question, she jumps up to her feet, fist in the air and cries up to him, in a mighty voice, "Nnnnnnnneeeeeeveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!" If there were thunder, it would be clapping right now for sure! But, as it stands, she's just standing there with her fist in the air, looking with a hard stare at Domino in defiance. But that moment of intensity passes, the girls arm lower to her sides, "... Ok yeah, you win." And that was about that.

Domino keeps the leg and foot cocked as she goes through her dramatics, eyebrow quirked at her. He half expects he'll have to actually launch the kick... but then she finally -does- submit. The foot is set down, and Domino is declared the victor of the match.
The stylishly-dressed model turns to face the majority of the spectators, and he thrusts his right fist up in victory. His hands dig into the outer pockets of his jacket to fetch out the black leather riding gloves. They're pulled neatly over his hands one at a time.
Domino then dips his left hand into the interior of his suit jacket, retrieving his folded shades. They're tossed into the air, and he catches them again on their descent with the right hand. The shades are given a quick flick to branch out the earpieces, then the shades areset back over his eyes.
And after all this is done, Domino lifts his arms to fold them over his chest, roguish smile playing on his lips. A glance is cast over his shoulder to Hurricane Hime.

Hurricane Hime crosses her own arms and puffs out a single cheek as Drake basks within his moment of glory. Hmph.. Look at him with his fans, and his victory and his cool looking shades. Grrr, she thinks to herself, grrrrrr. However, while she has lost this match, she DOES win in her own little way! So when Domino looks back to the little hurricane? She's bolting right out of the door, it swung open as she dashes off to the non-fiction section.

An alleged super-heroine or no, a bookworm... Is always a bookworm.
