Description: Sakura fights Rose in an exhibition match... on a roller coaster.
Kids, don't try this at home.
The classic wooden rollercoaster has been shut down temporarily for an exhibition match for the sake of childrens' medical research. Catch nets have been placed at the obvious points where someone might fall off, so that either of the two ladies 'performing' for the day might be able to avoid breaking their neck if they had a fumbling moment. Stands have even been set up (with a small admission fee - purely for charity!) for observers. The coaster will run, nonstop, until the fight is concluded!
Naturally, the 'line' is nonexistent. Rose leans against one of the steel bars that normally herds amusement-seekers casually as she watches the workmen double-check the specialized modifications to the coaster's train. The prospect of standing up while the car is in motion doesn't bother her, it seems, based on her relaxed expression.
Catch nets? Sakura and Rose are =professional grade=, folks! They won't be needing those! ... But it's nice of the exhibition planners to consider the safety of the participants. ... Even if the idea of fighting on a roller coaster is kinda crazy to begin with!
Sakura, in true form, is five minutes late for the rendezvous. All the more to get the fans anxious for a true spectacle, right? Or so Sakura would say.
"Oh... hey..." announces the young woman as she jogs up from the midway, looking a little out of breath. ... Just a little. "Hope you weren't waiting long!" She grins up at Rose, snapping a quick salute as she vaults over the steel bars, her handguards and trademark headband showing her preparation for the fight! "Didn't expect we'd be meeting like =this=, but hey..."
Tilting her head toward the coaster platform, she asks cheerfully, "Well, you ready for this?"
Munching popcorn and watching patiently from the stands, Shermie takes her time in taking in the combatants. She hasn't seen either fight before, that she can remember, or that she cares to remember. This means she's either lost to them, or actually /hasn't/ fought them yet. When and while they do their 'meeting' and 'preparing', she offers some words of encouragement.
"C'mon! Give the folks in the stands a good show!"
Rose straightens up as Sakura comes in. "Right on time," she says cryptically; is it a jab or does she mean it? She looks as if she doesn't mind.
"Well," she says, as she puts one hand on her hip and brings the other around her shoulders to unwrap her scarf, "it is for a good cause, isn't it? Just make sure, that you lift your voice a bit; I gather the wind will be quite noisy." She smiles afterwards, and steps towards the boarding area.
The little pnematic gates slide open - or two of them do, anyway. This is being filmed for further benefit dollars, and they want to have the two women start on opposite ends of the train. Rose heads for the rear, for whatever reason; maybe she expects to be able to handle the rolls and dips better.
Sakura doesn't see any overt sarcasm at play, so she assumes Rose's assertion is correct! "Oh, great!" she acknowledges with a smile, nodding at the elder woman's advice. "Okay! I'll be extra loud then!" Grinning, she heads through the gate opposite Rose.
Of course Rose picks the rear. This means Sakura's skirt will get blown up as the schoolgirl faces back towards the rear. She's thinking ahead towards the fans, of course. And thinking of the fans means bringing more money to the children. So you see how creative and subtle utilization of fanservice can bring good things to life, after all.
The rickety roller-coaster isn't exactly the =best= place for a fight, but Sakura's been on worse. The top of an airplane, for instance. The cars at least have seats and railings to use as proper footholds! Sakura bounds onto the head of the 'train', hooking her foot under the safety bar of the lead car. "Alright, then!" Once Rose is similarly stable, she then gives the 'all clear' sign to the engineer.
A buzzer sounds, warning all zero of the people in the waiting lines to stand clear. The train lurches forward with a start, but it's still slow going at first, of course. Kasugano holds her position at the front -- giving herself a few moments to get accustomed to the new battlefield first, of course! Clenching her fists in anticipation, she nods back at Rose. She's =ready=, just... y'know, giving herself a moment!

Both seats AND railings. There are even little overhangs between the cars to allow for a more even walk without having the risk of falling into the dirt or losing a foot or hand to clacking, clattering machinery!
Rose wobbles, very faintly, at the first jerk of the car - and turns away from Sakura briefly, as the train rolls outwards. She twists one leg, and then the other, kicking her pumps loose and back to the platform itself! /Much/ better, she thinks, as she turns to face Sakura again in her stocking feet.
"Ah!" she says, as the train slides onto... the upwards hill. She leans forwards a bit to avoid toppling back from the sudden tilt in the battlefield, and reaches forwards to grasp the handle in front of the seat while smiling at Sakura. "This should be interesting once we get over the top, won't it?"
She also turns her head and waves her free hand in a grand salute towards the stands! Yes, thank you for coming. Enjoy the show.
COMBATSYS: Rose takes no action.

Oh, damn.
The train's moving and noone's bleeding yet?
Shermie throws some popcorn in the general direction of the cars peeling away from the platform, hooting loudly, much to the consternation of the person in front of her. "C'mon, why isn't the fight starting! Show us something worthwhile, not just your underwear!" She whistles loudly, shrilly... Someone shouldn't have been drinking early, probably. Damn French.
Why isn't the fight starting? Well, maybe because the train's on a 45-degree upward incline, of course! Kasugano leans back, keeping herself as upright as she can while waiting for the crest of the hill. "Well, yeah, of course it will! You ready?" Sakura glances over her shoulder, figuring out about how much longer she has till the train reaches the top. It's not long now... and Sakura's prepared! .... At least until she catches wind of Shermie's remark. She twitches, =very= noticeably, to one side.
But she seems to get it together right before the crest of the hill. It's a long drop down from there... but Sakura's already taken one step once the hill is crested. Another step is taken once the cars start their movement downhill, then another.
Sakura makes her move when the train starts falling =fast=, though. She =leaps=, skirt flaring from the sudden movement as she rockets towards Rose, one fist extended! She's careful to catch herself with one foot should she overextend, but it's clear her =primary= goal is starting this fight off with a bang! "Hyyyyyyaaa!"

Rose's underwear isn't showing, beyond the stockings. What about yours, Sakura? Is that what the breeze is doing? It must feel refreshing!
Rose, briefly, loses sight of Sakura as the front of the train crests the hill. She doesn't lose track of the girl's presence in her mind, however, and her eyes widen when Sakura is flying upwards towards her!
The expression of simple astonishment on Rose's face - she has not had quite as many experiences in fighting in unusual situations, after all - combined with an understanding that even now she cannot simply leap handily away, are what bring that fist out to strike her in the cheek!
Her head twists, and she topples forwards for a moment, hands twisting around along with her scarf to catch herself. As the coaster reaches a low point just prior to an upward arc, Rose leaps back to her feet and says, "Well done!"
She leaps up as the coaster begins its arc, and does not - in the conventional sense - move towards Sakura; the train brings the girl to her as one bare foot snaps out towards Sakura's shoulders, a faint flare of light glittering from somewhere in the metatarsals!

Five hours from now, the Taiyo High Athletic Department will make a statement on the 11pm news declaring their dissatisfaction with their gym shorts being labeled as 'underwear.' "We consider the remarks of drunk Frenchwomen in the audience to be most disrespectful to the integrity of Taiyo High! Miss Kasugano is doing her best to preserve and honor this long-standing tradition."
But that's neither here nor there. The fact is, Sakura's gained the upper hand for the moment, and by dropping down to her knees, she's able to secure the lower ground as well! As Rose's foot sweeps overhead, Kasugano steadies her position against the rushing winds, aiming to snake her hand up, grab Rose by the lapels, and backdrop her into the coaster cars! "Thanks!" ... Okay, she's a bit too focused to answer on time...

"Give me those glasses! I want to see! Here, here, have some popcorn, it'll just be a minute."
Shermie is currently poking and prodding at the person in front of her, and making their life pretty much hell, as she watches the fight going on. The dodged attack by Kasugano is greeted with a hoot and a cheer, and a threatened glare from beneath her bangs at the other folks who are acting more sedately. Damnit, this is supposed to be /fun/ and Shermie's going to make sure she has some fun while watching!
"That one with the scarf's gonna use it to hang off of something before this fight ends. Ten dollars. Ten dollars!"
This one is easier for Rose, once the coaster's momentum seems to equalize with everything. She leaps backwards as those grabby mitts come up towards her lapels, landing in a crouch and wrapping the scarf, now, around the opposite arm as she feels the track hitch back onto the lifting chain for a short boost.
"It's difficult to have a conversation like this, isn't it," she says after a thoughtful moment, and then snaps it around as the cloth bursts into scintillating light for a moment. And just as she brings it back, like the return stroke on a whip, the coaster hits a long, twisting incline -- the wind whips through Rose's hair as the coaster train itself tilts partially to the side!
This is one of the places where they put a net.

Cheering of certain Frenchwomen notwithstanding, Kasugano keeps her wits about her. Sure, trying to =grab= Rose probably wasn't the smartest move, especially as the roller coaster is making it a bit easier for her to move... for now. Kasugano's knees bend as she too adjusts to the shift, hands out to either side.
But when that scarf lights up, Sakura leaps =towards= it! She thinks she sees an opening here, though she hadn't quite expected the =scarf= to be what's attacking her. But it's alright, because Kasugano's revolving around to slam her feet into Rose for one, two, three kicks! "SHUNPUUUU KYAKU!" she shouts, the name 'breeze kick' oddly appropriate in the face of the rushing winds. The fact that the scarf whips past her leg seems to be lost on her... but luckily it will prove to be of use as the coaster bucks sharply to the side.
"Ooh-whoooooaa!" howls Sakura, not having anticipated this sudden lurch! ... But the scarf had, in fact, =wrapped around her leg=, constricting bloodflow in a surprisingly useful fashion -- as that tightened scarf is what keeps the girl from falling! Kasugano's able to get back onto the coaster with the provided tug, landing first in a crouch, and then scrambling on all fours to the car ahead of Rose. "Whew! ... And yeah! Kinda tough!" she bellows over the rushing winds!
Rose's expression turns into a half-blanched mask of agony as she recieves not one but two kicks in a relatively sensitive region! She staggers backwards -- and perhaps it's that backwards force, along with her scarf, that makes Sakura's return so quick and easy.
Rose takes a deep breath and lets it out to push the inconsequential, if annoying, pain aside. She smiles at Sakura, if a little weakly, as wind howls around them. The train rocks to the other side now: "But we should at least try!" A pause, and then she tries, lifting her voice more to a near shout, "How have you been?!"
While doing this, she twists forwards, her scarf curling beneath her as a spring as both her legs roll up and over her head, descending to aim first the left, then the right's heel towards Sakura in rapid succession!

Sakura 0/-------/-======|=====--\-------\0 Rose
Whoosh! Sakura's ridden this coaster plenty of times before -- but never at this particular =angle=. it took those first few swerves for her memories of the track to come flooding back to her subconscious. Reflexively, she throws her shoulders to the side a split-second before that momentum shift -- if nothing else, Sakura has a home field advantage simply having been on the coaster before.
When Rose's eccentric kicks close in, Sakura meets them by dropping low to a crouch, bringing both padded handguards high to absorb the impact. "Ah, well enough!" she shouts back, a bit shaky from the blow, but drawing back to regain her balance, just the same. "Tryin' to hurry up and graduate!" she bellows, standing to deliver a riveting punch straight at Rose, aiming to clock her right in the sternum! "Haaaaa!"

Sakura 0/-------/-======|======-\-------\0 Rose
Rose can tell there's an advantage to riding this coaster before! Sakura's dominating her, if not brutally, and after that twisting set of kicks, Rose is left very briefly off balance. It doesn't last, though, and when that bone-shaking punch flies towards her, Rose raises one arm -- the scarf wrapped around it billows out at the last moment, absorbing much of the punch's force!
Not all of it, though, and she steps back while shaking her hand out for a moment. "Really!" she says; "Where are you thinking of going to college?!" That faint image of Sakura, with tired eyes and a useless English teacher as her only personal friend, crosses her mind again...
She also turns her head to look towards the rapidly-approaching loop. Not quite there yet, and so she decides to buy time! She aims a quick open-handed strike forwards towards Sakura, her hand trailing white-blue light behind it that carries far more kick than the half-hearted little sissy slap could!
COMBATSYS: Rose successfully hits Sakura with Medium Punch.

Sakura pulls her fist back, preparing for =some= kind of retaliation. She'd had her hands half-raised to block, btu when that open-handed palm careens in, Kasugano is caught more or less unaware -- not from the strike itself, but from the question that preceded it. "Which college...?" she'd started to reply as the hand snaked in and smacked her backwards, the blue-white energy searing her skin for a brief instant. Gasping for breath as she staggers backwards, the schoolgirl shakes her head. This is why she'd been conditioning herself =not= to talk during fights, geez!
"Haven't decided!" she shouts, not wanting to elaborate much further than that. The wind catches just right, blowing her skirt up -- but part of that is because she's whipping forward to slam a thrust kick into Rose's midsection. "Hnngh!"

Sakura 1/----===/=======|=======\=------\1 Rose
Rose has learned that her abdomen is a weak point. Just as the rollercoaster starts going up and along the loop, Rose gets /kicked in the abdomen/. It hurts! Her breath goes out of her in a gasp which keeps her from answering Sakura's question with more advice or commentary. She staggers once.
Then the floor moves out from underneath her. She works with it, though; she saw it coming, after all. Her scarf wraps around a railing, winning Shermie an easy ten dollars, and she dangles from it as the thrilling rotation slides up and along and towards its inevitable peak! It's got enough momentum to keep going instead of hanging menacingly upside down -- right?
Rose takes the opportunity to take a few deep breaths, and keep an eye on Sakura. That girl hits hard, especially when physics are conspiring with her!
COMBATSYS: Rose gains composure.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ////////////////// ]
Sakura 1/----===/=======|=======\-------\0 Rose
Sakura =had= forgotten for a moment about the loop -- kicking a person will tend to put one off-balance, after all! But she's a professional martial artist, she can sense the shifting platform beneath her feet, and drops into a low crouch accordingly.
... And that's when she =remembers= the loop. Finding herself growing lighter and lighter, she scrambles backwards a bit, holding on to the rail for dear life. It's a lot harder than just remaining buckled into a seat, after all! ... But even dangling from the safety bar, she keeps her eyes on Rose -- and once the coaster exits the loop, she'll be ready to strike again!
COMBATSYS: Sakura focuses on her next action.

"Pay up!"
Slapping her new best friend on the shoulder, Shermie points to the loop, watching in impressed interest as the fighters deal with the flip their respective ways. She smirks just a bit as the battle goes on, eyeing the back and forth from the safety of her own seat in the stands, om-nom-noming on popcorn and kicking back as a relaxed fighter should.
"See, now /that/ is awareness of your surroundings.. Wait. No, wait. Really.."
Standing up, the drunk Shermie points at the coaster and exclaims loudly. "Every time she kicks her skirt goes flying - she just went through a /loop/ and it stayed down! She does that on purpose!!"
If she's such a professional, can she go to the Olympics? After all...
Rose grasps her scarf with both hands as she smiles at Sakura; it's a bit tense, but perhaps she's trying to show that for all the passion and conflict in any battle, she isn't angry at the girl. She's doing her best, and so is Rose; and in the end, the real winners are the sick children who may now be cured. She swings backwards -
The coaster starts its descent just as Rose swings back. At the upswing of the upwards approach, she twists the scarf away from its anchor point and back around her arm as it blossoms out into fierce glittering light, green and blue and white all at once as her Soul Power pours into it. She rises towards Sakura, relatively speaking, twisting around to keep from slamming into the roller coaster itself - the scarf, too, whips around, to shower her with painful psychic impacts!
She hopes she can land in a seat.
COMBATSYS: Sakura fails to interrupt Soul Spiral from Rose with Medium Hadouken EX.

Sakura 2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=======\==-----\1 Rose
Oh, that glittery scarf thing! Sakura doesn't have much experience with rhythmic gymnastics -- twirling a ribbon around just never really appealed to her. Throwing Hadoukens =does=, though... as does watching a guy universally regarded as 'boring' throw basic punches and kicks. You shouldn't expect common sense from a highschool fangirl.
But it's not just any ol' scarf, it's a =glowing= one. And there's one sure-fire trick for dealing with glowy stuff, and that's more glowy stuff, right? Right. Once that coaster settles upright again, Kasugano braces herself against the floor of her car with her feet, curling her hands back to gather a rather bright blue fireball in her hands -- more than bright enough to outshine Rose's!
... If it were to hit, it would, anyway. Rose has a definite reach advantage here, and with Sakura locking herself in place, there's nowhere to run. The Ansatsuken disciple gets slammed in the upper torso with the full might of the spinning scarf, knocking her backwards! It'd be even worse, though, if the girl weren't able to jump backwards, controlling her flight so =she= can land in a car.
... and, y'know, lean heavily upon it, as that psychic energy stings like CRAZY. Gasping for breath, she looks... almost =instantly= weary as she gives Rose a wild, deer-in-the-headlights stare in reply. Nope, no conversation =here=!
Rose hits the car at an awkward angle; it stings, and she groans as she lays in it. A moment later she pushes herself back up, her Soul Power overriding the faint protest of her body's nerves. She breathes heavily as she looks towards Sakura; fortunately, the coaster proceeds on a relatively level grade of track, perhaps to make sure that there's room for things to level out during a fully loaded group.
She shakes her head once, and steps forwards, gathering her scarf up behind her. She turns her entire body with more of a flourish than the simple, straightforward motion of the Hadoken, light sliding out of her shoulder and gathering down her arm as she whips her scarf out towards Sakura with a cry! The light coalesces into a ball as it accelerates, streaking towards the girl - fortunately for her, the train should swerve soon! Will that help her avoid the soul spark?
COMBATSYS: Sakura overcomes Soul Spark from Rose with Shinkuu Hadouken.

Sakura 0/-------/-----==|=======\-------\1 Rose
The audience is clearly eating this up -- sure, they've seen the two combatants fighting individually before, but seeing it on a =roller coaster= is just ten shades more awesome! It doesn't hurt that a close-up fo the action is provided on one of the big-screen displays...
Sakura curls back from her last attack, shaking her head dizzily. That... pretty much knocked all the common sense out of her, honestly -- such that when she sees the scarf flying towards her =again=, the girl just flips out. The second time's bound to be the charm, here! Especially since, in her dazed condition, she adds a bit more flavor to the fireball she forms in her hands -- in the form of crackling electricity and a much denser, white-hot core. "Shinkuuu--"
But she'll need to act more quickly than last time! Luckily there's a bit more distance for that, and Sakura's able to complete her maneuver, slamming her hands forward and slingshotting the energy at Rose's scarf! Her electrically-charged fireball washes around the soul energy, despite a rather sizable hole being knocked out of the middle, the rest of the energy ought to be more than sufficient to continue on and slam into Rose! "HADOOOOUKEN!"
COMBATSYS: Rose reflects Shinkuu Hadouken from Sakura with Soul Reflect.
[ \\\\\\\\ < > /////////////// ]
Sakura 0/-------/-----==|=======\-------\0 Rose
As the Soul Power dissipates around the end of the long yellow scarf, Rose's eyes widen at the manifestation of power. The stray fragments of psychic energy coalesce backwards as Rose, herself, takes a step back and braces herself. That energy form - complete with the hole in it -
The scarf comes back as Rose breathes in, gathering her inner strength, and then jabs one hand forwards, her fingers and thumb bent together as if to cup something. The scarf arcs forwards as well, curled in the same way and darting in through that fireball's hole -- before billowing outwards in a flash of light bright enough to cast visible shadows on the ground for a moment!
Fortunately, it produces no wind. Sakura's skirt is safe.
The hadoken, however, twists in the face of this simple but subtle alteration of its directional path, and starts making its rather pokey way back towards the future hope of Ansatsuken! Fortunately, it's keeping pace with the roller coaster as it continues forwards - and hits another hitch to haul it back upwards. It's a very tall one.
For the famous 'Death Drop'!!
COMBATSYS: Rose successfully hits Sakura with Reflected Shinkuu Hadouken.

Sakura 0/-------/---====|=======\-------\0 Rose
Sakura's watching her Shinkuu Hadouken get twisted in upon itself, and flung back at her -- but she doesn't believe it! That, and she's caught a bit off-guard by the sudden change of direction. If she'd jumped when she'd =wanted= to jump, she'd have cleared it, but that little bump staggered her step, causing her to get =nailed=. Slammed back onto the car, there's little choice for her to fly backwards...
But that won't quite stop her from leaping towards Rose anyway, will it? She's aiming to get one more strike in before that Death Drop -- this one being a wild scything kick to the shoulder! "Hriii-HAAA!"

COMBATSYS: Sakura successfully hits Rose with Flower Kick.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\ <
Rose 1/------=/=======|
Rose is concerned by this abrupt lift, and turns her head --
Which means that she gets kicked, soundly. "Aah!" she cries as that foot digs into her shoulder, straining the bone and ligaments beneath as she turns her attention back towards the half-dazed Sakura, eyes wide!
Then the roller coaster reaches the top of the track. Rose looks behind herself again with wide eyes towards the DEATH DROP. She feels, for a moment, a sudden empathy for Geese Howard.
Then, gravity takes its natural course.
Attacking with such a wild kick right before the coaster plunges to its death was probably a collosally stupid move -- but that's why it =worked!= At least, that's Sakura-logic.
Sakura-logic also states that when you go over the Death Drop, you best hold onto something.
Nearest thing she can grab is Rose's scarf. Nearest thing beyond that is Rose herself.
%r What's that saying about pride going before a fall? This is kind of the same idea -- except it's =during= the fall that Sakura clings for dear life to Rose's scarf, or arm, or whatever the heck she =can= grab in her off-balance state.
While screaming her head off like an eight-year-old.
Rose is pretty grabbable; the scarf, especially, is, although it might normally resist such liberties.
When Sakura gets within range, Rose's arms latch around her as if clinging to a large and unusually firm pillow. This is pure reflex caused by /dropping down while in a roller coaster/. Falling in a wide open area might be more relaxing. This is not relaxing /at all/.
She screams, but it's in a pleasant contralto.
Sakura hasn't screamed this loud on the roller coaster in =years=. But then again, she always rides with her seatbelt on, as the ride was designed. Right now... with her nerves already frazzled from an midair battle, not to mention a mild case of trembling brought on by the earlier Soul Power intake, and the fact that she has no restraining safeguards... well, it's a BIT NERVOUS.
.... Though the plunge is thankfully short, and comes to a steady end as the roller coaster slides back to the point of origin.
Not that Sakura's grip on Rose lessens at all until the ride comes to a complete stop.
The workers laugh. The audience is =roaring= with laughter as the coaster pulls in. Sakura... is pale, traumatized, and only at the stop do her arms fall limply to either side. Like a zombie, she stumbles out of the car, weakly...
And into the arms of a trained medic.
It's at this point that Sakura's muscles give out, and she collapses... more or less unconscious.
So much for that conversation Rose may have been hoping for!
Rose is a bit shaky herself, although she waves off a medic. When she turns her head to look towards where Sakura has passed off into a medic's grasp, she reaches up and pushes that lock of hair hanging before her back, and lets out a long, tired sigh.
She gestures then, in case residual bits of her mental energies are plaguing Sakura.
She looks forwards, then, towards the rollercoaster itself. She muses to herself: she always DID like the tilt-a-whirl better.
COMBATSYS: Rose has ended the fight here.
