Description: Kurow gives Yurika a little more training because he's a very kind and loving individual. Yes! <3 However it doesn't go without scolding and loyalty questioning aplenty. Poor Yurika.
Once again, the forest. If there's one great upside to the forest, it's that it's easy to hide in it, and /very/ easy to do things and say things that won't get back to civilization readily. This makes it an ideal spot to discuss all sorts of horrific things -- like, for example, virtually anything the Darkside Student Congress does.
%Kurow Kirishima waits, deep in the forest, for one of his agents. It's easy enough to find him, if one's looking for him -- just follow the sound of the flute. It's the most identifiable noise in the forest, as Kurow plays very well, and very loud. Besides, there's something about the music itself that just draws people to it, especially the weaker-willed.
Said agent is hardly weaker-willed.
Actually that is a very big lie, but in this particular circumstance, Yurika Kirishima is using the sound as a compass rather than following the sirens song in some sort of zombie-like state. She had always enjoyed the sound from her younger brothers flute, though he was one of the few people whom played in such a way that she was completely unable to pick up whatever emotion, if any, were being expressed. But it was still pleasent, enough to make the silver-haired girl hope that one day they'd be able to play togeather...
But she knew that this get-togeather would be anything but that, and while it was mildly heartbreaking, she was always happy to spend time with her family, even in situations that would likely send her to a hospital bed.
Yurika's an odd girl, but that's yesterdays news.
Anyway her travel through the woods is a very short one, and Kurow may sense her arrival since it's so rushed. And she somewhat flickers into existance, the girl adorn in a dark blue female Justice High uniform, a fox mask tied and hanging off of her neck. In this case, it's probably better not to ask. She greets Kurow with a sheepish but pleasent smile, followed with a bow, "I apologize for my tardiness," she murmurs, "I had a little, ah.. Trouble on the way here. But it's fine now."
The dark blue Justice High uniform is what gets Kurow's attention, moreso than the fox mask. It looks like she's hiding herself with exactly the same thing he hides /himself/ with, when he needs to -- it's a bit of a surprise, but not an unpleasant one. Perhaps if she continues to take after him, she'll stop being so weak.
Kurow abruptly stops playing his flute, putting it back in his pocket. "You're here now. That's the important part." Standing up, Kurow says, "I wanted to talk to you privately, in addition to giving you a little more training." He takes a ready stance, saying, "You've been hesitating lately. What about our operations has you so scared?" He begins to circle Yurika slowly, scrutinizing her.
Yurika is most certainly trying in her own little way. She's always been a hard worker, but her pace was always hesitant and slow. She'd probably just been making it harder on herself because of that but, she refuses to believe that. The girl folds her gloved hands in front of her, gaze focused at first but that doesn't last very long- The very moment he brings attention to her hesitance, her gaze averts and she seems embarassed as she shakes her head, "There.. Must be some mistake, brother," she replies with a forced smile, "I am not frightened of anything, I just.. I don't want to make any mistakes, that's all.." Which was at least half of the truth. But she knows if she were completely honest he'd be furious and who wants that?? She doesn't! "I'm not as strong or as clever as you, Kurow, if I make mistakes I would have a much more difficult time covering it up than you would."
This answer doesn't look like it's satisfied Kurow, if his expression is any indication. "Is that all? You've taken issue with almost every move I've suggested lately. And besides -- you're not as strong or clever, but you're careful. For whatever reason, people /like/ you -- and they'd believe you readily if you tried to cover something up." His stance becomes a little more aggressive as he starts to think about everything else she's told him.
"... are you starting to /sympathize/ with them?" Yurika's always been weak-spirited and impotent in his eyes, so it's no surprise that he thinks she'd be so readily compromised. "Are you starting to think like they do?" There's an intensity in his eyes as he says this -- but simultaneously, there's that little hint of /some/ sort of familial recognition... perhaps.
No, that is certainly not a good thing. On the occassions that her eyes do meet his own, she notices that her response simply just isn't good enough. It really is unfortunate that she's getting so nervous, because she really would have liked to have heard Kurows 'compliments' in a considerably less tense environment. In fact, the biggest reaction comes from Kurow's suggestive accusation in which she quickly turns her head to face him and cries, "No! .. No, I don't, I.. I have seen things outside of Seijyun that absolutely disgust me, things that I want to see wiped off of the planet. It's just.."
The girl nibbles her lower lip lightly, her gaze drawing back to the suddenly interesting grass, "I don't take issue with your plan, I just feel you're drawing too much attention onto my school.. I can handle it on my own."
"And why shouldn't I? With Momo... uncommunicative, you're my best agent," Kurow says, relaxing a little. Yurika's more fiery rhetoric here is close enough to what Kurow wants to hear that he's willing to avoid screaming her down for now. "I'd rather play to our strengths than our weaknesses. Taiyo is an issue that needs to be addressed, but Seijyun ... we're reasonably entrenched. We should capitalize on it." It certainly /sounds/ like Kurow's just trying to play to the numbers here.
"Don't you agree? I mean, if we could decisively take Seijyun, we'd have a strong foothold. And moreover, it'd practically be yours -- after all, I can't be seen there all the time. We could do it in a matter of weeks if we focused on it." He gestures for Yurika to come in toward him and start attacking, though he shows no signs of stopping the conversation. "What do you know that you're not telling me?!"

Yurika can't hide the sudden cringe. Kurow was more or less correct, even if his execution did seem.. Rushed. Even still, the idea that it'd be better to focus on another school, then, seemed like it wasn't going to work anymore.
On the other hand, it didn't mean she was without facts of her own. She had been studying things about the school very closely, she was good about at least that much, "I. .. I do agree, it's just.."
Yurika seems to have taken note of the motion, and draws a set of steel tuning forks with a twirl and takes a firm grasp on the handles. Hopefully she could remember what she had learned last time, "There isn't anything I'm not telling you yet! I haven't completely finished my study, I'm *scared*!" The student races forward, light on her feet as always and with a short hop and flip, attempts to stomp down right onto the boys chest, "I don't feel I know -enough- to start things so soon, I feel there are too many things that are still being overlooked!"

Sliding back away from Yurika as the girl pulls out her tuning forks, Kurow gets himself ready for the usual quick, vicious sort of assault Yurika often pulls out; his prudence is rewarded as he puts himself in optimum position to twirl -- yes, /twirl/ -- to one side, narrowly avoiding the quick kick. "Is Seijyun really /that/ complex?!" Kurow demands of her, staying back. He thinks he can afford to fight more defensively than usual, especially considering it's Yurika.
Gathering the usual blood-red chi, it begins to pool beneath his legs, seeping up into him as he says, "We know about the Ladies' Team -- what other major threats could possibly reside in /Seijyun/?" His stance becomes a little more defensive, and he picks a knee up off the ground.

Yurika doesn't fall at least, Kurows evasion doesn't disrupt her landing which is as light as the rest of her steps. But not sensing an immediet threat, the girl continues her fast pace, which leads to her zipping right up along a nearby tree and a few paces after that leaps off of it, "It isn't that it's complex, I just have too many 'unknowns' on my list! Aislinn is one of our more aggressive students, I've calculated within time she should be fighting the girls that I've yet to face myself. And not just that,"
Yurika lands and slashes her weapons on an exceptionally large tree branch, which not just cracks, but collapses onto a one way trip down onto her powering up brother, leaping off of said branch before it's too late, "I just want to be one hundred percent certain that my allies can take care of any 'nasty suprises'! I just can't see how I can take control of the school without raising some sort of suspicion either! Is there some sort of plan for even that?" Because really, it'd just break her heart to have to share lunch with a zombie Akira.

Poor Yurika. As Kurow covers his head, avoiding the worst of the pain from the falling tree branch, he says, "The usual methods. Break them off from one another, and slowly convince them of our way of thinking by whatever means necessary. Once we hit a certain critical mass of students, the rest will fall naturally." The Kirishima youth is never hesitant to make, as it was put, 'zombies' -- after all, that's strength that has no purpose besides what he gives it. That's the best kind!
Dashing in, Kurow brings his body a little lower, and, pushing one of his hands out, sends his whole body into a quick spin. If Yurika doesn't get out of the way, she'll find herself the victim of a particularly vicious strike, calculated entirely for knockback -- the initial strike doesn't hurt as badly as it seems like it might, but barring a great deal of care on Yurika's part, the combined lift and force from it has a good chance of knocking her back several feet.

Kurow 0/-------/-======|==-----\-------\0 Yurika
Yurika has yet to see an example in which 'strength in numbers' wasn't the truth, actually. So as usual most of Kurows words make complete sense to her. However the soothing factor is slim to nill, which of course isn't any suprise considering whom she's talking to.
In a defensive position of her own now, Yurika frowns just slightly and nods her head. When she thought about it, it would actually be pretty nice if she could open the eyes of her friends.. Zaki somehow seemed to be the easiest to convince from that aspect. Maybe she should just have a little more faith in herself? But that aside, she isn't going to run away from Kurow, at least not at this point! She taps her weapons togeather moments before Kurows slash makes contact with them now that they're extended like a cross. But there's just so much force within the strike that Yurika actually ends up hurting herself trying to keep the defensive stance that, ultimatly, lifts her upward and knocks her back anyway.
Still, it could have been much worse, "Very well," she concedes, "I will take time the next week seeing whom I can convince.. But I still want to make sure that my reputation doesn't get hurt in the process, Kurow, that's a very very important part of method, ok?" her eyes almost have a pleading feel to them as she rushes toward Kurow once more, the forks still vibrating, and as she gets closer they take a light green glow, said glow trailing with the two slashes she throws at him. The first is diagonal, across his chest and the second, rather than try to cut him, is to sweep him off of his feet, "Hngh!"

"Work as slowly as you feel comfotable with, but keep in mind that we don't have unlimited time, Yurika, and --" He tries to leap back and out of the way of the first strike with the tuning fork, but it catches him squarely in the chest, digging deep. The second strike, though, is what really stings -- it strikes him squarely on the kneecap, nearly dislocating it, and then sends him down to the ground with a loud thud. With a grunt, he pulls himself back up, finishing up with a hissed, "-- if I don't see /any/ results, I'll handle it /my/ way. Because of our... failures, with Daigo, /I/ don't have to be so quiet any longer."
Stepping back, he comes across the branch Yurika knocked onto him earlier. Cleaving a few parts of it off with his chi-enhanced claws to make it a more efficient weapon, he gives it a hard fling at his sister, aiming to pierce her with its brand new exceptionally sharp point. Once he's tossed it, he starts stepping backward, trying to position himself more optimally.

In a way.. That was exactly what Yurika was hoping for. Just more time. Denying the inevitable though, was taught to her as being one of those 'that's bad' things, but she just couldn't help it. She had hoped there was some way she could really convince herself that what she was doing was right, and that's just a hard thing to do, while presenting yourself to be a charismatic, mysterious figure of elegance while ignoring the fact you're really a little ball of emo.
Though this is Yurika trying to be profound, and maybe she isn't a very deep girl in the end. Regardless, there's quite a bit of relief in Yurika's heart now, some time is better than no time at all. This proves to especially be the case when dealing with pointy objects threatening to pierce her skin and it seems it's still Yurika's moment to shine. She jerks her upper body to ths side, the wooden chunk barely grazing her hair and yet she doesn't push forward.
No, instead she takes a few steps back and narrows her eyes, gloved fingers raised to her lips, "I understnd, brother. I won't fail you, I swear it."

Megumi leaves the forest and enters Southtown proper.
"That's exactly what I want to hear," Kurow says. "Just remember -- no matter what, don't start to care for them. Even if they join us, they're still just tools. Don't give up control of yourself." There is the question, of course, of whether /Kurow's/ following this line of thinking himself -- after all, he seems to be, for whatever reason, very enthusiastic about this particular situation.
As Yurika decides to hang back, Kurow in turn takes the initiative. Dashing toward Yurika, he actually goes /past/ her, swiping as he moves; at first, it doesn't look like he actually struck her at all. However, after a second, the reason for this tactic becomes apparent; a claw-shaped wave of energy floats in the air near where he swiped, but closer to Yurika -- possibly even close enough to strike her...?

Kurow 1/-------/=======|=======\-------\0 Yurika
It certainly does seem to Yurika that Kurow is enthusiastic, it's both exciting and a bit frightening for Yurika, but she'd much rather focus on the more exciting aspect of it, even is she on the gray line herself.
"I- I understand," the prissy student forces herself to say, obviously she didn't want to lose control of herself, she's had, perhaps to a much lesser extent to her brother, had a taste of what it's like to be the one in control, to be moving the chess pieces. And while it didn't exactly feel *right*, it did make her feel.. Important. Unnatural, but at the same time pleasent. She could very well see how 'real' friendships could hamper that sort of thing, too. But still..
At this point, it would be more about the fight than diabolical plans and manipulation, from the very beginning Yurika actually did desire strength as 'unladylike' a goal as it may be. And Kurow zipping by her in the blink of an eye is one of those very painful reasons why she would like such a thing. The almost blood-red energy meets it's mark, scratching across the musicician, and she has to fight so hard not to let out a pained cry, she gripping at one of the multiple tears across her uniform as she staggers forward. But the fight was still at it's very beginning, it was much too soon for her to give up. In fact, she looks to return the favor, tapping the forks togeather with her back to Kurow. And she whisps backward, loose grass kicking up from under her feet.
Yurikas arm whips out to try and slam her steel instrument into the bridge of Kurows nose, creating an even greater echo of sound that isn't seen, but perhaps could be felt approaching, because the impact of multiple notes hitting Kurows body would be pleasent to the ears, but anything but pleasent to the body.

Kurow 1/------=/=======|=------\-------\0 Yurika
Kurow's never allowed himself that kind of thing. He's too far down Mugen Imawano's line of thought -- always look out for yourself, never love, seek power and immortality. This is, perhaps, Yurika's biggest advantage over Kurow and in turn Kurow's biggest advantage over Yurika -- she has her friends to rely on, but conversely, Kurow is unhampered if he loses anyone. Yurika's methods are riskier... but in the end, perhaps they'll be what prevails.
The first strike doesn't hit Kurow directly, instead barely catching one of his claws on the way down. That's enough, however, to start the notes playing, which /do/ strike him, sending him back a few yards with the force of the older Kirishima's chi. "... Well done," he says. "You didn't hesitate." Stepping back, he tries -- after that nasty strike -- to get his breathing more even. If he lets Yurika tire him out, she could do some real damage. "That's just how I want you to handle Seijyun."
COMBATSYS: Kurow gains composure.

Kurow 0/-------/=======|=------\-------\0 Yurika
Yurika finds herself both in awe and a bit frustrated with Kurow's acrobatics. There was never any doubt that he was an exceptional fighter, but having not hit the young assassin with her 'final blow' to its fullest extent showed her that she still has a ways to go before she can call her unique technique 'perfected'. Though really, she shouldn't be afraid of a little hard work considering all she'd done so far, right? "Yes, brother," she replies, the very faintest hint of a smile forming on her otherwise serious expression.
And seeing Kurow ease back for just a moment, she sees that as the perfect opportunity to strike again.
And so she does.
Yurika has been learning, bit by bit, to become more aggressive. And it's a lot simpler when your opponent is ruthless in turn, "I'm not finished yet!" she cries as she draws forward, and with a quick swing, attempts to slam the fork in her left hand onto Kurows shoulder. If she could make that contact, the aftereffect would make Kurow quite weak in the knees as another blast of sound is thrown at him from her second weapon.

Kurow treats the swing as the full assault, which is perhaps his biggest mistake; he steps back from it, just in time to realize that, no, that wasn't the full extent of Yurika's attack, as her blast of sound catches him and knocks him back. "... Yes -- that aggression! That's what I want to see!" he declares. He isn't trying as hard as he can with Yurika -- after all, she's not going to stop being weak and impotent if he just slams her down every time -- but he is trying, and she's performing remarkably well.
Continuing to work as conservatively as possible, Kurow stays back, not wanting to press in toward Yurika when he's just been rather efficiently handled by her tuning forks. "You know," he says, studying her carefully, "I'm surprised you switched weapons. Why are you straying from what you know best?" He tries to read her movements -- they're a little different from what he's used to, which means he needs to reevaluate her.

Yurika feels the beat of her heart pick up, there's no adrenaline rush or anything, but there is drive within the prissy student. She's so caught up in his encouragement that she doesn't realize at all the Kurow is holding back on her, though she's also slightly blinded by that drive to impress him and prove that she could one day really be his right hand man, his number one soldier.
Not that she had given up on them being a mildly less dysfunctional family, but first things first, right?
Her smile can't be hidden this time though, due to Kurow's curiosity, "I know every instrument equally well," she starts to explain as she draws her right hand back, and then throws the fork within it like a shuriken toward her opponent, "What I know best is music, and every instrument provides that equally well." and she takes a couple of steps back to distance herself even further from the assassin.
"And besides, my violin is too easy to pick out and I don't believe anyone else understand I have that ability." It's useful, indeed.

With a quick slide forward, Kurow takes himself under the path of the tuning fork, grinning all the while. "That ability to change up your tactics -- it'll serve you well. If there's something to be gained by hiding who you are every now and again, do it -- press that advantage, that ability to change yourself." He gets back up to a standing position, considering his options. He has a lot, after all -- and in the end, he goes for one of the more vicious ones.
Pulling both of his legs off the ground yet maintaining his position for a split second, Kurow brings the force of his chi to bear, creating a ball of black energy around himself. Launching that well-guarded ball forward with a cry of "Yasha Guruma!", claw-slashes (some Kurow's own physical claws, some purely manifestations of his chi) begin to cut out toward Yurika.

Wow. This has to be the best evening Yurika has had in quite a long time, it's a shame it only happens when she's getting beaten down by her brother. But that's just what's called 'tough love', isn't it? She'd much rather delude herself to believing that than have Kurow say otherwise, especially since things in their own twisted little ways are looking up for the musician.
Though in a slightly more realistic view, Yurika is starting to feel a bit worn down herself, but she won't dent Kurow unless she pushes herself to the limit from this point on. Those extra two steps she had taken back.. Just wasn't enough. She'd suspected Kurow would use that technique and yet still.. She faulters, second guessing herself. What if he *wasn't* going to use that technique? And then end result is very painful. She's cut up but good, and she can't fight off the yelp this time, for a moment a slave to the slashes that, in the end, leave her collapsing to her knees and then falling onto her face, bits of material raining down on her like confetti.
"Nnggh." Yurika blacked out for but a second, but when her eyes open she immedietly realizes she's still in battle. It's that reason alone that she's able to get to her feet, and lounge at Kurow again. She was hurting all over, but her subtle stubborness lets her forget it all in favor of not wanting to look like a weakling. drawing another tuning form from the back of her belt, she taps the instrments together and then axehandle swings upward, just short of Kurow as she twirls and leaps up into the air. The delayed reaction is only a splt second, the russling of grass from where her feet once were the only clue of another burst of pleasent sounding, but not quite so pleasent feeling sound ripping from below and upward; wanting to drag Kurow into the hurricane-like assault.

Unlike Yurika, the reason Kurow gets torn apart is that he gets /over/confident -- he always decides that he has the upper hand, and therefore can afford to go a little less than all-out. He decides to try to leap upward to deal with Yurika's slash, but that in and of itself presents problems; when he comes back down, she's still there, and in the end he gets drawn into the Fatal Rondo. However, he doesn't let himself get discouraged -- this is Yurika. This is his sister, whom he's known forever -- and whom he's always known to be weak.
He gets himself back up to his feet as quickly as possible, rolling forward and standing up to get a little momentum; his next technique is extremely vicious. He's honestly feeling a little embarassed, having held back initially -- /now/ he's really going all out, trying to affirm his power over Yurika. It's all petty power games, in the end, with Kurow.
He reaches up, grabbing for her throat with his claws, and lifting her off the ground. If he gets a solid hold on her, a few quick shifts of his fingers add a faint nerve pinch -- one which should keep Yurika as motionless as a ragdoll from the neck down as he holds her there, and begins to speak. All the energy in Yurika's body starts to flow up toward Kurow's claws, turning a bright red as it flows into his arm, across his chest, and out his other arm.
"You've gotten much stronger, Yurika, and much more vicious. You're starting to come into your own..." Suddenly, he whirls his body around, flinging his sister aside and sending her to the ground. "But you're still my subordinate. Remember that." No matter what, he'll always see her as expendable. "Like I said -- you can try to handle Seijyun your way, but don't be afraid to use force!"

Kurow 0/-------/-------|===----\-------\0 Yurika
Yurika more or less understands her position in Kurow's mind.. It's because of that she she actually never believes she even had a spot of a chance of defeating Kurow. All that she's done so far, it wasn't about her proving that she can defeat Kurow, it's proving that she isn't a weakling, and that she's more than just a pawn piece. Which should be common knowledge to Kurow..
But as always, she makes an exception when he's involved.
The bottom line was she got exactly what she was hoping for. Aknowledgement, another step higher toward that very long stairwell, and a little more time, "My abilities are for you to use as you see fit, just as it has always been," she confirms, dropping heavilg onto the grass in a crouch.
And then Kurow manages to get a hold of her throat, her suprised gasp cut short as she's lifted into the air and she only has moments to defend herself. To be honest she isn't sure how she does it, but she resists the pinch, at least enough for her to move her arms and press one of her forks to Kurows gripping arm. The red energy flows downard, but the moment it reaches where her weapon was it turns blue and stops short of his chest drawing back forcefully into her own body.
And there's an invisible explosion that knocks both fights back a bit as a result, freeing the musician from his grasp, but she herself is left spitting up blood as she favors her throat. She can't strike back immedietly at this point, her body needs a moment to recover from that intense moment.. But she chooses to take that moment to come up with another way to hurt Kurow rather than recover her lost strength, "Kurow.." she wheezes, "Do you think, maybe.. One day I might be more than..?"

"... if you keep progressing, perhaps. But you've still got a long way to go. You're still too weak," he says, even though he's starting to tire out.
Not letting Yurika have any time to get herself back 'together,' Kurow dashes in toward Yurika and, with a lightning-quick motion, aims to kick one of her knees out from under her and send her to the ground. It's a somewhat conservative move, one which allows him a little more time to leap back out of the way if Yurika tries something crazy.

But on the other hand, Kurows words made her feel all warm and fuzzy, so perhaps her 'strategy' at that moment was in actuality very poor judgement.
Either way, Yurika just isn't isn't drawing back in time, Kurow gets the kick and she falls to the ground so fast, that one would think that was the end of it. And.. They'd be right. Yurika raises her face from the ground, wiping off a bit of dirt with the back of her gloved hand.. And wipes the blood from her mouth with her other, "N- No, I believe we've covered just about.. All we need to for the week." At least for now. She'd rather not bring up her concern for her brothers health, she'd been watching him zipping about and fighting all kinds of very strong opponents. Then again, he's probably well aware that somehow, somewhere her worrywart of a sister is trying to keep an eye on him. She'd much rather think she was being a really cool guardian angel though, "I'll be all right, I'll.. head home shortly."
It's the only way Kurow will improve, in his eyes -- and that's true, but not for the reasons he thinks it is. He's only going to get better by fighting stronger opponents because he can't learn simply by reflecting on his technique and trying to improve. It's not the way he operates. "Then go," he says, simply. "Excellent work tonight. Just don't falter if you have to deal with someone with real force."
He stays sitting, rather than stand back up -- he needs a little time before he's fully comfortable with dashing off again. After all, Yurika gave him a remarkably good thrashing, and he doesn't want to put too much strain on his knee without giving it a little time to rest. ... not that he'd admit it, of course.
