Ryu - Ryu vs Kyosuke

Description: A chance encounter between a student and a World Warrior results in an unexpected challenge! Will this prove to be a valuable learning experience for Kyosuke, or will Ryu himself find a new thing or two to pick along the way?!

Truely, the way the streets of Chinatown were lit once night had fallen were a pleasure to behold. Inbetween the lines strung in the apartment complexs there were those that carried the albiet sterotypical moon-like lanterns. Swinging gently by the brush of a wild zephyr, their bright colours nodded to those who mingled and bustled beneath their spring-like hues. Supervising from above, the stars themselves gave way to these along with the chatter of the lilting dialect from the mainland that were punctuated by the ringing of a bicycle bell. A feast for the senses, that's what this niche of Southtown was.
It was also the only place one could find certain delicacies, and for a person so meticulous as a certain fair-haired teenager, it was clear why he would have to come here. Stark white set against the myriad of cultural native clothing, Kyosuke carried a couple bags already littered with carefully packed items. He ignored the hawking voices of miracle cures, or last day sales in lieu of what it was he'd come here for. Oh, once or twice something would catch his attention, but by and large he was focused enough to not get distracted by the task at hand.
And of tasks, there were two. Tonight's dinner and a general read of the area. His brother wasn't the only one who intended on disregarding a certain bodyguard's warnings, but he'd start off more subtly. There were places interposed between legitamit areas, sketchy hideaways behind the shops of so called clean establishments-- Hyo had unearthed quite a bit. But even that was scratching the surface.
In the throng of passing pedestrians, the highschooler paused at the mouth of an alleyway, turning to look down its steam and dumpster speckled walkway. Fingers lightly touched the edge of his glasses, and he frowned.

It was true, one could find just about anything in Chinatown. Knicknacks and trinkets from afar, exotic foods, mail-order brides..oh, and scams, plenty of scams. It was a very lovely area, particularly at this time of night, but it could also be a very seedy place if one strayed too far from the well-lit paths at night. Most common denizens of the area fear the places well enough to steer clear, but for one wandering martial artist the distinction is not so well-made. Either ignorant of the common knowledge or uncaring, he'll go where he wishes. Of course, most would agree that someone like Ryu doesn't really have much to worry about at all from wandering so freely about the area. It's not as if Vega or Akuma were waiting in dark alleys to mug anyone, right?
Speaking of alleys, he'll pop right out of one in front of Kyosuke's path, just near enough to give one pause and thanks at near-miss collision. The fact does not escape Ryu either, and while he does not pause he'll issue polite words of excuse before turning forward along his way. It all happens very quickly, but for someone like Taiyo High student it wouldn't take much at all to recognize the man for who he was. If the matted white gi wasn't enough, there was the headband, the duffel bag, the bare feet..oh wait, maybe it was a Ryu impersonator? People did that, right? Like Elvis? Any feel for chi would dash that right away of course, as the vagabond is not making a particular effort to conceal it tonight.

Caution is something that should indeed be used, even for those who were talented and skilled in the ways of combat. In the large pond that comprised the many, many fighters, there was always someone who was better. That was the way of things, be it years of experience or sheer natural abillity, chances were they would be encountered in due time. Of late Kyosuke admittedly had been meeting many whose combat sneered in the face of his with a dismissiveness that inwardly rankled-- not at them, but to himself. The Neo League was just one such avenue for remedying this, but there were others...
And the look of suprise that crossed his youthful features was one such possibility. The man was recognised without any hesitation once the clinging shadows and slipped from his shoulders like some kind of mantle. Too startled to do more than shift just enough to avoid being knocked into, he stared after the man for a long moment. One might consider such to be a child-like response, but for all of Kyosuke's maturity he was allowed his moments of awe of legendary figures-- and Ryu was one such.
Better than Kane even.
The flow of chi surrounding the man left no doubt should sight have failed him, it's what had caught his attention when stepping up to the alley. Maybe it was a little like catching sight of that elusive Elvis, seeing him in person verses on television was always different. "Ryu." A simple address, no honourifics attached though it was implied in the tone of voice he used, the crinkle of his shopping bags rustled against his knee as he shifted to regard him. For an individual who chose the life of a vagabond, what use had he for such things?
On the other hand, he would offer a deep inclination of his head should the other stop-- he didn't in any fashion wish to disrespect him. Now, this wasn't exactly being a fan like certain other highschoolers in Taiyo, but.

Ever the humble buddhist, Ryu would deny all claims of fame and legendary status no matter how often the media and other seem to heap it upon him. While some among his brethren adored nothing more than the spotlight upon them Ryu had always found it more inconvenient than anything else, all the attention making it more difficult to continue with his relatively simple desire to travel in search of the next challenge. Still, when a fan -did- call him out, he always tried to be properly polite, particularly with the younger crowd.
But as he turns to acknowledge the youth behind him, he'll realize it's no 'fan' that calls out his name this night..not exactly.
A lifetime of training and experience have given the vagabond an analytical eye that defied convention. His gaze now properly fixed upon the student, he sees clearly now what he had barely glimpsed the moment before. Everything, from the way Kyosuke stands, how he'd carried himself just before, the way in which he breathes and particularly the other flow of chi he can feel tell Ryu that isn't just a fan. A fan would likely already be in his face asking for an autograph. But this young man maintained himself, stood his ground and showed respect in all the proper forms one should expect from a fellow fighter.
He'll acknowledge this, with an inclination of his own head, and further more with a shift in both his position and chi. It's very slight..but if Kyosuke can notice it he ought understand. The wanderer just tensed a tad in a reaction that would be only proper when confronted with presence of a potential opponent. He doesn't say anything, not yet. This is how a man like Ryu truly speaks, after all. The floor is still Kyosuke's, and he'll await what the student has to say next.

Excessive displays of emotion had never been something Kyosuke ascribed too, he had his moments of intensity but by no means was he flagrant in everything he did. Cool, calm and collected, these were his trademarks and only in these states did he believe that he was able to maximise the situation. Afterall, these were the best frames of minds with which to analyse and counter what fell his way, literally and figuratively. No screaming and pads of paper or other bodily parts being shoved in his face here for a signature.
Reflex, that was the explanation for Ryu's response to Kyosuke. Not that he thought him a threat necessarily, just much like how like recognised like-- though the teenager by far had more of an advantage through recognition and knowledge about the other. The subtle shift was noted, though likewise the Imawano twin didn't exactly fear-- Ryu was honourable. Rather, it was a heady kind of anticipation. But by no means did Kyosuke intend to presume.
The floor was now his, having garnered the legend's attention, and he smiled faintly, hints of it ghosting about his lips though his gaze remained steady and serious. "I find myself caught ofguard, it isn't everyday a person meets someone like yourself." While shopping for food items, as evinced by the bags he held. "My name is Kagami Kyosuke," forgoing his true family for the time being, it is what he was best known as here, "student at Taiyo High, and while I make no pretense that my skill matches that of your own in combat..." His mouth took a more ironic turn, "It would be an honour to meet you in a fight."

The name did not ring a bell, nor he could he place that or the student's face to any possible fighter he might've heard of or faced in the path that could be a potential relative..but that was fine, new blood was good. The high school however, that he recognizes, "Taiyo high..?" He'll repeat just once before returning to his more typical stoic expression. Sakura's school...so then this boy could likely be a classmate of hers? He wondered for a moment if they actually knew each other, and if they'd even fought with one another before..knowing Sakura, the idea isn't an unlikely one.
The fighting world was home to more than it's fair share of egos, many of which would think it beneath them to satisfy Kyosuke's request. Time is money, places to be and all that. The wandering one of course rarely ever had a place he truly needed to be and this occasion was no different. As for fighting someone so young? Well, appearances could be deceiving, and more than that the matter had been weighing on Ryu's mind in more recent times: What responsibility did he have to next generation of fighters? There was a time he thought taking on a pupil in Sakura would be enough, but could he do more? Should he do more? It wasn't in his nature to settl down and open up a dojo like Ken or Kim...but if he could give young fighters the experience of what lay ahead of the path, perhaps they would find what they need. Be it a lesson in humility to the egotistic, a goal to aspire to for the aimless or simply a reinforcement of they already knew to the determined, as long as the young mean and women who would shape the fighting world of tomorrow walked with something, maybe -that- would be enough.
Ryu's discarded duffel back perhaps makes a better statement than he could as it clatters and rolls off to the side. "Come, if you like." He'll say nonetheless, adopting a balanced fighting stance, "Hold nothing back, strike me with everything you are." He'll tighten his familiar headband in affirmation, "Show me who you are, Kyosuke Kagami of Taiyo High."

Alex has arrived.

Today, good graces smiled upon him. Yes, it was quite likely he would end up with many scuffles and bruises, maybe worse at the end of it all but it was something Kyosuke looked foward too. Not in the sense he enjoyed getting his clothing ruined and beaten, but in this case he would consider it an exception. To meet Ryu in a fight was indeed an honour, and he would take it for what it was-- a lesson in tactics and skill. And a measure for what he himself should keep as a goal for the future, if he wanted to better himself...Ryu was as good a candidate as any. And his moral code of ethics wasn't entirely dissimilar.
Kyosuke is a bit more gentle about him setting aside his items, infact he nudged it into a corner out of sight. Even if someone decided to relieve of it, this was worth it. His chin dropped again, his version of another respectful bow, though his gaze never left the experienced fighter. "I will, I wouldn't consider doing anything less." He'd caught that questing sound at the first mention of his school, perhaps guessing at what Ryu was wondering at. He knew Sakura, he'd fought Sakura, and lost. It'd make her teacher proud to know she was bettering herself to such a degree.
With his hands free and a lightness to his steps, Kyosuke slipped into a similar ready position. The smile was gone and only determination etched itself onto the teenager's expression, then he advanced with an arc of his fist-- not one of the fastest attacks but the punch would be a heavy one. Testing out one's opponents first wasn't a tactic he shirked, getting a feel for things before throwing himself into it.

Actually, to Ryu, watching younger fighters in action was always an amazing thing. No, not too many of them had the discipline or state of mind often brought on by experience, but seeing the potential in many of them never failed to be inspiring. All that ambient power and strength waiting to be used, chanelled and properly controlled, the mind reeled at the posibilities of where they would go, new height they'd discovered that never even occurred to any of their predecessors.
But there was no time to think about those thing when the fighter in question going into action on -you-. A straightforward attack, the ansatasuken practitioner sees the purpose behind it and acts accordingly, allowing both of them to gauge the strength of Kyosuke's fist with a solid block of his right forearm. Good form, excellent control. The actual damage was negligible, it wouldn't even leave a hint of a bruise, but it was still impressive for someone of his age.
So they've gauge brute power, now it was time to test reactions. Ryu's foot is quick to administer it with a brief feint back and a quick swipe out to the side, aimed securely at the student's torso.

It was the reverse for Kyosuke, older more experienced combatants in the heat of a fight...it was why the broadcasted Leagues and similar competitions were so engaging. While it was no subtstitue for the real thing, if one examined the other's moves and tactics, there was ample to be learnt...even from the mistakes of those inexperienced opponents. Here, the teenager didn't allow his situation to cloud his judgement, yes. He was fighting a Legend, but he could treat it like any other fight he started. It was the best way to learn.
Kyosuke didn't press foward after his first strike, instead he quick stepped backwards, still reading the older man as he moved. It allowed him to pick up on the other's hidden rebuttal-- a swift kick that looked like even if blocked, would have smarted had it landed. Instead he pivoted on his foot, narrowly avoiding impact with a flutter of his crimson lined jacket. Their brief exchange had managed to earn the attentions of a few of the passerby's, their whispers and pointing fingers quickly identifying the headband wearing man. The youth, perhaps not, which suited him just fine. Bets had yet to pass, but they'd be heavily in the other's favour.
It may be that this distracted Kyosuke enough to pause-- perfect, the makings of a real street fight. Cheering crowd and all. Truth was, he was studying Ryu, his stance, his posture, learning how they'd change with his next attack...so that in the future he could prepare more quickly.

Ryu              0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0          Kyosuke

A real street fight, yes..of course, being able to tune out the crowd and focus solely in the fight was essential in this kind of environment, a skill Ryu is well-known for. He can see Kyosuke has a bit of trouble with it, but he nonetheless tries to clear his mind and dwell only on the opponent in front of him. Impressive..almost as impressive as the way he'd evaded that kick. The world warrior had put some space between them as well after that, allowing a brief repreive after an inital trade-off of blows. But Kyosuke was not Sakura, not his student. He'd promised him a real fight, and that wanderer would give him one. It wasn't training, it was battle.
That's why he'll break that little pause in the action first, rushing forth with a quick leap in the air. His fist shall wallop down with him on his descent, aided by both gravity and the fighter's own weight in an attempt to strike a glancing blow across the younger fighter's brow. Composing one's self in a fight and maintaining focus was essential, but it had to to be done quickly! Few enemies will allow one the luxury of waiting.

Hotaru has arrived.

Hotaru heads north to the Southtown Village.

Nothing less is what the chairman of the Morals Committee of Taiyo would expect. He wasn't his student, Sakura had that envious position, on the other hand pulling blows and attacks didn't suit him. It was possible that they'd face each other in the future when he signed up for the League, or one of the many others out there he may decide to get involved with, and this would be valuable.
What he'd learn quickly is that Ryu was never the slouch, and even taking a moment to read the other and the situation was hazardous if one didn't take into account how fast the other was. It was a fact Kyosuke would literally feel the impact of. The air filled with static in anticipation, slivers of sinuous blue-white energy fluttering into existence...and it would have blossomed with the follow through of his upswung arm that was to have met the other's arial attack.
Except his timing was off and the chi-infused uppercut never fully formed, instead being struck a fine blow across his forehead...the force behind it enough to stagger him back a step, the explosion of pain blurring his vision as he hissed in pain and annoyance with himself. He shook his sharply head, bringing up his hands defensively as he sought to steady himself, and brush off the effects.
Definately no pulled blows here!

No, no pulled punches indeed! Ryu is curious as to precisely what kind of attack Kyosuke had been about to pull out of his sleeve, but it will have to wait another time. Once he lands, his offense shall not relent, leaving it up to the Taiyo high student to recover from that blow before the next one falls. A flurry of quick punches and a few kicks follows next, intending to overwhelm the younger fighter by focusing on those attacks so as to conceal his true designs.
He'll take that opening when he sees fit too, breaking the assault with a sudden rush forth, hands looking to grasp Kyosuke's coat and yank him forward as the vagabond falls back, taking the student along for the ride albeit with a seamless thrust of his raised foot sending his opponent clear overhead, if all goes according to plan.

His reactions could have been better, but Kyosuke rapidly regained his sense of not only balance, but positioning. Each blitzing viper strike was avoided, using light footing he drew in nearer or further away so as to better accomodate this, his hands positioned before him. They were there not unlike a guard, a weaving defense that would make any openings to landing a blow upon his person a difficult thing. But Ryu had a plan, no wild and random spree...Kyosuke's coat typically moved with him, and not many would seek to use this against the teenager, but not Ryu. It could be called, creative.
And he did grab onto it, not for the first time, Kyosuke's eyes widened a hairsbreath at this unexpected turn of events, what he's left with is a rediculously slim margin to counter this. Pulled foward, Kyosuke went with the momentum, but instead of the foot landing into his midsection...He saumersaulted into an abbreviated reverse shadow-kick, using the other's foot as a vault. His wrists smarted where they braced, but he landed nimbly on his feet-- allowing Ryu to hang onto his jacket where it'd literally been torn from off of him.
Back to Ryu, he spun around his hand coming around in a similar fashion that had cancelled out before, the youth's chi shifting and strengthening as it built up into an explosive surge of electrical energy. Crackling and hissing, the light threw shadows around them much to the pleased spectators who'd gathered to watch this confrontation. He'd aimed to catch Ryu while he'd be coming out of the roll...whether or not it was successful, was another matter.

Whoops! Ryu didn't mean to rip the coat, but it was actually Kyosuke's own actions that brough that about. Impressive reaction and improvisations on that one really..if the Taiyo High student were fighting Ken he'd probably have gotten a smirk! But there's not time to complement him, especially not when the wanderer faces a fist full of electric knuckle sandwich upon coming out of his roll! Fortunately, Ryu's reactions are quick, almost to the point that they border on pure instinct. He has to much momentum to avoid the attack, instead bringing up his arms to intercept the attack, focusing his chi within them and creating an invisible 'armor' of sorts. The attack will hit, but Ryu won't be carried up into the sky, standing his ground instead as elecric chi crackles against his skin.
Not bad, it was all excellently planned and maneuevered, Ryu just happened to be fast like that! He'll acknowledge that by putting a bit of distance between them again and turning those fighting eyes upon his opponent. Now he's the one who looks, analyzes and judges the younger fighter's movement, combining what he's seen so far with what he believe to know about the fighting method the student employs. Starting now, things would get serious.

It was very unfortunate of his jacket. Kyosuke had hoped that he'd have been able to merely have it pulled off, but there was a very prominant tear through an arm and left side. The remainders would be consigned to the trash upon his return home-- whenever that may be. A stop off to the hospital may be necessary first. The jacket remained where it had fluttered to the ground, some kind of ivory and red 'carpet' seperating the two combatants. The teenager was disappointed the last attack did very little to his elder, but all the same it was quite aweing to see it literally shrugged off so.
There was a very mild shift in the flow of movements between the pair, not unlike a tightning of a metal coil. What had been testing blows before were going to be exchanged for something far more agressive in nature. Kyosuke sensed this, though there was little more he could do than prepare for the strafing to come. In reflection of this steeling of himself, the strawberry blond slid his foot foward, allowing his hands to settle into their usual position of preparation-- but not before adjusting his glasses with a somber smile.
He was ready.

-Was- he ready? Was he truly?! Hushed whispers rush throughout the crowd, conjecturing at what would happen next. Many have seen Ryu fight before, some enough to see his stance, his pose and think they know what comes next. Was he going to do it? Was that kid worth of it? What would happen, could he block it or even dodge it! The silence is broken first by Ryu, who sends a brief cloud of dust up from the ground as his feet stamp out into low stance, both hands rushing back behind him and coming together to form a ball of sorts.
He'll then close his eyes, channelling both will and chi into his palms along with any ambient spiritual force hanging about around them. The familiar blue light shines forth from those hands, his aura likewise burning fiercely as he'll fire forth, his trademark attack barrelling towards the student at dizzying speed, "Hadouuuuken!"
The crowd erupts in small cheers, they always loved to see the hadouken after all. There was no questioning that this was a real fight now.

There was only so much preparation that could be done when facing off against as capable a fighter as Ryu. Men were called legends for a reason, and not because such a status was easily obtained. Only a rare few were gifted with such a monkier, and such things Kyosuke had understood the moment he had extended himself to ask within that statment: it would be an honour to fight you. For many, they could only imagine such a scene within their thoughts, while here he was living it. Let it be said, that living isn't exactly always a painfless traverse-- and this particular stretch was a bumpy rough patch.
The stance, the gathering of those invisible life's energies all were familiar...and though it was the first time he'd face Ryu, it wasn't the first time he'd picked up on such a pattern. Infact, he already had a good idea what was headed his way before it could even coalesce into its minature sun-like burst. Hadouken-- the man's voice rang out it's proclamation. Utterly unecessary, Sakura his pupil had shown him the exact same thing.
...How troublesome likewise to confirm that the chances of not only avoiding, but negating such an attack was at his limits-- limits depending on chance. This is where preparation fell short, a full solid impact a written and signed testament. Kyosuke was knocked off of his feet and crashed into the ground where he skidded a couple yards, the onlookers parting to give the pair even more room as traffic backed up on the main roadway. His sable undershirt was heavily singed in some places, his skin smudged and sensitive where the ball of chi had burned. Remarkably, his glasses were still intact, and very much in place.
His groan was half stifled as he rocked back onto his feet into a crouch, and though he grimaced he was still in good spirits. Did he mention that hurt?
But he wasn't over with yet, discarding the oppourtunity to hang back he instead sprinted foward, shelving his discomfort. Kyosuke gathered himself and slammed his foot down heavily, launching himself into the air-- his hand swept back as the his chi waved into existence, forming after-image spheres of icy-blue. This fist he'd aim for a solid return blow to the head, utilising his momentum to aid the attack.

Seeing it before could help, but there was a still a big difference in what you thought you could do against an attack and what actually happened, right? Kyosuke might notice the differences in Ryu's hadouken from that of his pupil. While it was lesser in size than Sakura's, that particular facet is more a cosmetic and psychological tool than anything else. It would probably be best to think of it as concentrated rather than small, and he'd certainly realize that after actually getting hit with it!
Much to the student's credit however he'll barely stay down for a second after the technique floors him, already countering with an attack of his own. Ryu sees it coming, but makes no motion to move. Instead he'll brace himself and take the full brunt of Kyosuke's attack right in the head. The force the blow will tilt him to the side, but not knock him over. Naturally, this sends the crowd into a bit of a ruckus. Did the world warrior just give him that hit? Was he taking it easy on him after something like that? That didn't seem like him at all!
And of course, it wasn't. Although Ryu was admittedly curious to see Kyosuke's strength, that had nothing at all do with why he chose to take the hit, although it was an unxpected bonus. Rather, it was a good way to get the taiyo high student close, so he could aim a jarring punch straight at his abdomen as the youth descends.

Ryu              1/-------/=======|======-\-------\0          Kyosuke

Kyosuke narrowed his eyes to slits, the shadows cast by the glow of his chi flickering about his features as it faded once he had struck. He had short slowed moments in time to ponder upon just why the other fighter stood to recieve his attack without attempting to either dodge or block-- surely both not beyond the capable man. What he came up with didn't exactly bode well for his corner, especially since it didn't seem to phase him much... the crowd loved it all the same. From the balconies in the jumbled and crampt housing, to ground level they pushed and shoved to get a view of this unfurling unanticipated turn of events.
Ryu had him exactly where he wanted him. Close, in mid-air without support, and unable to respond swiftly enough.
Kyosuke was damned by his own limitations, not enough room and time to fully follow through with a rebuttal attack-- the student suffered a heavy blow past his crossed arms right to the gut. His breath was soundly knocked out of him, the force enough to cast him offbalance such that he struggled to land on his feet, stumbling whilst instinctively clutching an arm to his abdomen. He coughed and tasted blood, unable to immeadiately respond as he sought to catch himself.

It was a decisive blow to any who saw it, and the world warrior won't pursue immediately, giving the younger fighter some time to catch himself. Again, not taking it easy on him or anything like that (Well okay, maybe a little. Still a kid, couldn't help it!) but more to examine the fight as it stands now and judge his own avenue of action, as well as what's left to Kyosuke.
The vagabond will then stand straight, closing his eyes in concentration as he begins to focus his chi. Not in a specific location as he had before, but more within himself, accumulating whatever was dislodged and re-arrange by nature of the fight and setting things as they ought to be. He'll make no untoward movements at the taiyo high student just yet, his mind's eye turned momentaril within.

There was no oncoming onslaught. Kyosuke knew that Ryu was fully able to follow through with another attack and could only smirk inwardly at this mild slackening of persuit. It wasn't quite so blatant and useless however, though subtle the alterations were there-- Ryu was preparing for something, and that brief reprieve would be just that-- brief. But he'd already devoted himself to giving what he could in this fight, seriously outclassed Kyosuke was nearly at the end of his limits. Another blow like that and likely he wouldn't be able to come back from it...and so. He did what he could.
Kyosuke took a deep breath, ignoring the stabbing pain that accompanied it, and the threat of another explosive cough. He didn't go charging in, instead he hung back and sissored his hands before him. His voice echoed behind the appearance of twinned crescents, these manifestations of chi cleaving through the air in magnetic arcs that would join into one overall ball of energy before striking. Ryu doesn't need to see the attack coming. Rather, he's become in tune enough with his immediate surrounding that he simply feels it, the pressure of a chi not his own encroaching upon him, not to mention rushed breathing and hurried footsteps as Kyosuke goes through with a seemingly desperate move. Even now though, the precise control the youth maintained over his chi was impressive. He would honor it by meeting that attack head on.
So he'll rush forth, using an aura of his own chi to meet that energy and smash through it with a powerful strike. It's not done without injury, but it's like not somethign the student would expect either, particularly as the fighter advances even further, launching his feet with twist and rush of more chi, dealing a powerful rising uppercut to his opponent's chin, "Shoooryuken!" The cry goes out, much to the further adulation of the crowd as both descend..but likely only one on his feet.

Not many would choose to barrel right on through and ultimately overcome such an attack...with success. But then it has long been established that Ryu isn't the sort who pandered to the norm. Already the spectators have sensed the end of this confrontation, and persons who dared to bet against the legendary fighter are already tossing their hands up in defeat. Even if it was only a few yen. Not only was who'd win betted on, but ofcourse the timing, and a few were studying their watches hoping for a more convenient dismissal. As for Kyosuke--
This wasn't how he wanted to have his feet leave the ground again, but there was little much he could do. Tired, injured, he didn't have the reaction speed in him to do much than be a waiting target. His head snapped back and he fell...fell into the crowd behind him who didn't get out of the way quickly enough. It was the needed brace to keep his feet long enough for one last. Similar to the guesture before, instead of two crescents, there were five, and all of these sped towards Ryu.
That done, he'd fall to his knees literally spent, blood staining his lips and sweat slicking his skin.

COMBATSYS: Kyosuke can no longer fight.

Enough will for one last move, eh? A more powerfuk version of the one he'd tried before it seemed..the speed was impressive at least, too fast and too many for the world warrior to effectively dodge. So instead Ryu will hold his ground, crossing his arms and asserting his chi as the attack hammers his body. The strike leaves him a little burned, but otherwise fairly unscathed compared to how he was before. Overall though the student had gotten some good hits in. That trademark white gi was a bit more tattered and burned and some places and while the vagabond has not the extent of injuries plaguing his opponenent, he'll have have some bruises morning. Headache probably won't go away for a while either.
Knowing Kyosuke doesn't have any more fight in him the wanderer will step over and offer a hand as the crowd begins to disperse. "You fought well, Kyosuke Kagami." He'll state, "Continue to train and challenge yourself and I believe there are many new heights you will be able to reach." Thinking about it, perhaps there was more he could do here, "My student, Sakura Kasugano also goes to your school..I do not know if you know her, but I think you two could make excellent sparring partners. She's amazingly skilled for her age, not unlike you..I think there's much the two of you could teach one another."

COMBATSYS: Ryu has ended the fight here.

Regulating his breathing was an important part of maintaining a lack of pain, and controled state of mind. He was somewhat hunched over a bent leg, resting his upper body on it gingerly as it was still sore from the other's previous gut-strike. Likely there was some mild internal bleeding, but nothing that could keep Kyosuke down for long, Billy had done a harsher number on him more quickly. Could be all of those snapping through chairs in the open auditorium. And explosions.
"It's what I have been telling myself recently." Kyosuke confesses openly with a rueful smile. Accepting the other's proferred hand, he rose to his feet, a bit unsteady at first. With the other hand, he readjusted his glasses, those spectacles miraculous in of themselves for how they managed to remain intact. "Miss Kasugano..." Kyosuke almost grinned, clear amusement therin those dark eyes of his as he regarded her mentor. "She does her Master justice, I assure you. She hasn't slackened a beat." Oh? Seems Kyosuke was quite familiar with his student. Not only that-- her habit for keeping things nice and tidy just might be another manifestation of her occasionally eccentric idol. More need not be said.
"I thank you for this oppourtunity, and kind words." Flattery? Ryu was hardly the type, that he thought Kyosuke had skill for his age alone would suffice as his percieved truth. Respectfully he ducked his chin, then started to dust himself off as best he could. "Perhaps the next time we meet, I can offer more of a challenge." Dinner still had to be made-- if the bags were still where he left it. He'd offer a free meal to Ryu, but somehow he didn't think the other'd bother to treck across Southtown to get it.

Ah, so he did know Sakura..the world warrior might have known, "I'm sure she does, but I am glad to hear it none the less." Though he was not sure how much longer he could properly becalled Sakura's master..sooner rather than later would the time come that she would have to find her own path, apart from his guidance. "Likewise, thank you for the fight." He'll return the respectful gesture in time, "Continue along the path you follow and I am sure I will be there upon in the future at another time and place. I will look forward to it."
Once he's sure Kyosuke can make it along home on his own, that fighter will gather his own things and continue on wherever he'd been going before. Although he doesn't walk as easy as before, a certain energy would be nonetheless present in his gait. Nothing like a good fight to get one going, right?
