Hotaru - Brutal Savings!

Description: What was supposed to be a light hearted advertising exhibition serves as the origin of a vicious grudge between Joe and Hotaru!

'GRAND OPENING EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!' is what the sign reads that hangs over the
entrance to what many are calling The World's Largest Electronics And Bathwear
store. People are everywhere, parking is hell, and the line to get in wraps
around the building twice. Thankfully, being the guest of honor at today's
event, Joe Higashi didn't have to wait in line, so even though he was running
late today due to Lilly's constant adjusting and readjusting of his tuxedo, he
made it on time to MC the main event. Lilly had talked him into hosting the
event rather than fighting in it, which is okay by Joe as his last couple of
fights had left him sore in places he'd rather not talk about in polite company.
Joe steps up onto the makeshift stage setup in front of a wall of
dishwashers, refridgerators and vacuum cleaners. He clutched his note cards
tightly, as he stepped in front of the mic, "Ladies and Gentleman!" A long pause
as he starts reading from the card, "Today you have come for great savings...
and today great savings you shall heave... er have." He coughs slightly, "But
before the great sales throwdown begins, I present to you a battle for low price
dominance between... Hotaru Futaba and..." Joe shuffles through his cards as a
man rushes onto stage and whispers something into his ear. "What do you mean
he's not coming? Oh come on!" Joe looks a little annoyed, but he wasn't about to
let this savings marathon be derailed by lack of a good fight, "I guess she'll
just be fighting me instead!" Joe raises his hands above his head and grins
widely for the cameras, "Alright!"
The strange-haired Higashi moves off-stage then, stripping out of his suit
and tie to reveal that he was wearing his boxing trunks and championship belt
underneathe. He offers an appologetic shrug to Lilly before climbing into the
ring to wait for his opponent.

Lilly frowns from her seat by the stage, Joe wasn't supposed to be participating
in the event, she had only just gotten the bandages off his more recent wounds.
She tries to be descrete as she waves to get Joe's attention, "Joe..."

Best to start small, this was definitely going to be small. Hotaru's absence
from the Southtown fighting scene for almost a year has left her with little in
the way of contact, challenges, requests to appear, or anything of the sort.
Stubbornly convinced that the road to reuinting her wanderlust-laden family is
through success in competition, she had set out immediately on looking for
openings that would take someone with almost no recent credentials or record.
'Sponsered Exhibition Fight. Will take anyone. Excellent starting opportunity
with commensurate pay.' She didn't know what commensurate pay meant, but it
sounded like a lot.
Perfect. Or it would be, if Hotaru could actually get to the stage in time.
Slipping through the crowd, she scrambles around the back and finally climbs
over the makeshift wall of refridgerators. Hopping down onto the stage, she
barely catches her breath before explaining, "Sorry I'm late, the, ah,
extravagrant- extravagin- the ah," she swallows, wishing she had practiced her
lines better as a bit of stage fright kicks in. "There's really good prices
here!" Staff on hand is quick to gesture toward the always-ready Joe Higashi.
"Eh? Him?" The belt is eyed. How does he fit that under a Tux anyway?

With a sigh, Joe just shrugs again to Lilly, trying to give her his best 'puppy
dog eyes' look. Sadly, it just comes off as making him look really sleepy. Joe
looked around the makeshift ring made of random washers, dryers, refridgerators
and freezers. Where was his opponent? A flash of movement caught his eye as
Hotaru crested a particularly nice fridge ( complete with ice maker ), and Joe's
face went slack, his jaw hanging open slightly. He had been expecting someone a
bit larger and perhaps a little bit older. Instead, it turns out that he's going
to be fighting a little girl? Augh, Lilly was going to tear him apart!
Joe just shakes his head as he removes his belt and sets it atop a
freezer/microwave combination set. He gives it a single pat for good luck and
turns towards Hotaru, looking her up and down a bit more carefully. This was
going to be ugly, but Joe knew he could at least play it up to look like a good
fight. Still, it was sad that he was going to have to beat up a little girl, and
on opening day too! Hopefully Lilly would still let him buy that stereo
afterwards. Ah well, time to get the ball rolling. "Hey there. Does your mom
know where you are little girl? Are you lost? I can call a security guard over
if you need one." Joe struts to the center of the ring, as full of himself as
ever. He leans down slightly and whispers to Hotaru so the audience can't hear,
"I'll let you get the first hit in, try and make it look good okay?"

COMBATSYS: Joe has started a fight here.

Lilly's jaw seemed to almost literally drop to the floor. There was no way she
would sit by and allow Joe to beat up on a little girl without making darn sure
he knew it was wrong. Rushing up to the corner of the stage, Lilly latched a
hand tightly to Joe's boxers and tried her best to half whisper, half yell at
Joe, "You can't fight her! She's just a child! It wouldn't be fair, you might
hurt her!"

COMBATSYS: Hotaru has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

'Fighting is a sacred art, if both combatants do not treat each other with
respect, the sanctity of the act is tarnished.' When Hotaru's father taught her
that, he must not have had Joe in mind. There's definitely plenty of tarnishing
going on this afternoon. Breathing deeply, the girl centers herself, drawing on
her training to keep from being riled up by the teasing. "Actually, my mother
died three years ago. It is in her honor that I will conduct this fight with you
this afternoon." the orphaned girl states firmly, with quiet resolve. Awww.
The jog over was enough of a warm up for her so she wastes no time with
preliminary stretching or any further banter. Centering her thoughts on only
showing this braggart what she can do, Hotaru slips into a ready stance for only
a split second before taking that first shot Joe so magnanimously offered her.
Reaching out in order to try and grab hold of Joe by the arm, Hotaru's intent is
to walk right up the front of him like a step ladder and leap off the top of his
head at the end. While it wasn't part of her plan, it does just so happen that
she does this at the same moment Lilly is reaching out to get Joe's attention.
Lilly's lip quivers, the poor girl no longer had the tender care of her
mother... this just couldn't take place! She tugs on Joe's shorts even harder,
"Joe, you CAN'T fight her! It would be cruel! Don't do it!"

COMBATSYS: Joe endures Hotaru's Shin-Jou Tai.

Joe tried to move forward a bit, but as he did he felt his trunks sliding
down slightly. He turned to see Lilly, tugging on them and trying desperately to
get his attention. He sighs, "I know! I know! I don't want to do this either,
but I need the money!" He tries yanking his shorts upwards just as Lilly begins
yanking upon them even harder, giving a few choice members of the audience ( and
Hotaru ) a look at a side of Joe that, well honestly, just about everyone across
the globe had seen on television many times. "Lilly!" Joe exclaimed, finally
hoping away from her grasp just in time to see Hotaru rushing him. He puffs out
his chest and tries to look tough even as the little girl uses him as a
stairway.
Joe stumbles backwards from the blow, his hands too busy adjusting his shorts
back into their proper position. He falls back against a refridgerator and
smacks his head on the ice machine, a torrent of perfectly prepared cubes
sliding down his chest and into his lap. "Augh!" Joe leaps back up and away from
the fridge, the ice scattering across the floor of the ring. The store manager
peers over the edge of the ring, his face filled with worry, "Please! Watch the
merchandise Mr. Higashi!" Joe just shrugs and turns back towards Hotaru,
wherever the flying orphan may have landed. "Lucky hit, that's all!"
He can't decide which hurt more, the climbing attack, or the ice maker that
lodged into his head. "Let's see how you like some of this!" With that Joe,
turns his head to flash the nearest camera his sparkling smile and then drops
his shoulder as he brings his right arm into a furious uppercut against nothing
at all. A swirling vortex of air and stray ice cubes rushes towards Hotaru as
Joe calls out like a complete dork for the benefit of his adoring fans,
"Hurricane... UPPER!"

COMBATSYS: Joe successfully hits Hotaru with Hurricane Upper.

Joe 0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0 Hotaru

Landing some ways from Joe after her surprise opening, Hotaru had expected to
have a moment's repose before he'd be able to catch up with her. Dismissing
Joe's next attack as just useless strutting for the crowd like some rooster
that's had his pride hurt, the girl lets her guard down a little. That other
girl trying to talk to him must be really patient if she actually associates
with him, Hotaru muses. Though she does wish she wouldn't try to sway Joe from
doing whatever his best is. Then again, she also wishes that her brother would
quit being such a jerk and talk to her again. And she wishes her dad wouldn't
have walked off in the night without explanation. And she wishes her mother
hadn't-
Oh wait, that's actually an attack, not just a silly pose while threatening
nothing but the air! Taking a step forward, Hotaru attempts to leap over the
whirlwind of debris. But her foot comes down on an errant ice cube that had
slipped across the stage from Joe's mishap and her would-be graceful leap out of
harms way turns into a clumsy stumble head first into the attack, causing it to
knock her backwards into the side of a fridge, leaving a slight Hotaru-sized
indentation. "Oof." Okay, so he does have tricks. She needs to take him more
seriously, she realizes. Focusing again as she leans forward off of the fridge,
the smaller combatant wastes no time showing that she can do the same thing
back. "That was very impressive, Mister Joe," she replies, trying her best to
honor her father's instructions even if her opponent isn't returning the favor.
Her hand glows blue with the small sphere of chi that coalesces on it briefly
before she lobs a rapidly moving ball of pure energy right back at Joe.

There are amazing rituals that don't require estensive technology, that can
still be observed, even today. The Northern Lights, a man climbing Mount
Everest, swimming with dolphins, and Joe Higashi picking fights with teenaged
orphans. Andy Bogard, who just happened to be travelling the mall in hopes of
getting a 'homecoming' gift for a certain female in his life. (whipped) Of
course, he's having a bit of trouble, given that Andy is not particularly
materialistic or even knowledgable of today's hottest and useful items. Real men
wash their clothes in a waterfall!
Clad in a simple black leather jacket, white shirt, and black jeans, he
might not be instantly recognizable. But Joe... well, Given how easily his
shorts come off even when he DOESN'T want them too, Andy instantly recognizes
his old friend. He immediately shakes his head before putting a hand to it, but
walks over and leans along a pillar with a courtesy phone on it, and stops to
watch the spectacle nonetheless.

Lilly frowns, knowing all to well that this fight will likely go ahead with or
without her protests. She sits back down at the corner of the makeshift ring
and calls out, "Don't hurt her, Joe... she's too young to know the punishment of
your attacks. Please, be gentle! For her sake, and your own."

"What the..." Joe's thought trailing off as he watches the girl slide right
into his attack. The manager appears above Hotaru, "Please miss, this is already
fourty percent off!" He slaps a fifty percent off sticker onto the now damaged
fridge and scurries out of harm's way. Joe, meanwhile, is currently waving off
Lilly's warnings, "Don't worry! I know what I'm doing! See? Hardly a scrape on
her!" No matter how he looked at it, Joe was in for a beating whether he won or
not. Oh well, might as well try to win right? Getting beaten by a little orphan
on national television is not good for one's carreer, not that his has been much
to talk about lately anyway.
Once again, Lilly distracts Joe from the fight just enough for him to not
see Hotaru powering up her next attack, and by the time he does notice the chi
screaming across the ring towards him, he only has enough time to bring his arms
up to cover his face. The wild-haired man steps back slightly, shaking his arms
at his sides to make sure there's no fires or anything weird on his wraps.
"Damn! I guess this won't be all that easy after all." Joe leaps forward,
quickly sprinting across the ring to close the distance between the two
combatants. Before he reaches Hotaru, Joe twists his body around, bringing his
powerful leg upwards in what should have been a kick. Unfortunately, the
scattered ice proves to be another hinderance in Joe's Great Plan For Victory
And Great Savings. He spins a little too far, his leg coming back down to
try and steading the now stumbling man. He falls forward towards Hotaru, his
arms flailing wildly in front of him.

COMBATSYS: Joe successfully hits Hotaru with Quick Punch.
Glancing Blow

[ ......\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////////// ]
Joe 0/-------/---====|=====--\-------\0 Hotaru

She was totally ready to dodge that kick. Seriously! But a flailing, tripping
opponent flying at her wasn't what she had anticipated. Is this some kind of
sober-drunken-Kung Fu? She's at a loss in identifying what style or training Joe
is operating under at this point. One of his arms manages to bump her shoulder
as he slips past, doing little more than jarring her slightly. Frowning at the
spectacle, she decides he isn't taking her seriously.
"I do not think that that was a real attack." she comments as if chiding him a
little. Leaping backward, she lands a top the previously dented fridge, but this
time her impact does nothing to diminish it's already low, low price point.
Using it as a launching point though, she jumps at Joe, attempting to kick him
twice on his head then use his shoulder to spring back away to safety.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru successfully hits Joe with Rengeki Shuu.

Lilly covers her eyes and looks away with a sigh, "I just can't watch..."

Sadly, Joe's 'attack' does more to the appliance behind Hotaru than to
Hotaru herself. Joe slams his fists into the nearest reasonably priced appliance
in frustration, which earns him a shout of 'Mr. Higashi! That's a Whirlpool! Do
you know how expensive those are?!' from the manager. Joe spins about quickly to
locate Hotaru, just in time to feel Hotaru's feet slamming into the side of his
head, causing him to recoil backwards in shock. Thankfully, the attack didn't
hurt too much. Having a hard head comes in handy sometimes.
Joe turns his head to look at Lilly, "See? She's not defenseless! Is it okay
if I hit her some now?!" Without waiting for an answer, and half expecting
another attack due to his distracted nature, Joe turns back towards the boucning
oprhan and narrows his eyes. "Time to get serious." With that, Joe begins to
focus inward, gathering his strength in preparation for whatever 'Getting
Serious' meant.

COMBATSYS: Joe gathers his will.

Turning even as she lands, Hotaru is already facing toward Joe again by the time
he finishes his desperate appeal to Lilly. She KNEW he hadn't been serious so
far, and his affirmation to actually try now just proves it. As he seems to need
to focus to get his head into things, Hotaru takes a moment to do likewise. She
isn't sure what 'serious' actually means from this guy, but she saw the belt.
And assuming it wasn't purchased from www.getyourbelt.com, she has to imagine
that he's won /something/ at /some/ point.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru focuses on her next action.

What is that look in Hotaru's eye? Is that pity? Mocking? Pity mocking?
Ooooh, she's probably making fun of Joe right now isn't she. 'That just steams
my shorts!' he thinks to himself, pondering his next attack as his opponent
seems to be taking a moment to do the same. "Okay, I am going home with a new
stereo today, beaten orphan or not!" His declaration causes the crowd to cheer
wildly. Although honestly, Joe saying anything tends to get the crowd going.
Having decided to not wait for Hotaru to do something and possibly make him
look even more foolish than she already has, Joe lunges forward, his shoulder
dipping downward as he brings up his fist in another uppercut. Even though this
one seems much faster and more powerful than before, it still misses Hotaru by a
mile. Unfortunately, the rather impressively large tornado stirred up by the
blow indicates that Joe knows exactly what he's doing.

Joe 0/-------/-------|=====--\-------\0 Hotaru

COMBATSYS: Hotaru fails to reflect Screw Upper from Joe with Kobi Kyaku.

[ .........\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////// ]
Joe 0/-------/-------|=======\===----\1 Hotaru

She's gotten used to Joe's offensive maneuvers seeming like feints or poses, so
when he strikes the air this time, she's ready. She'll show him that she won't
be pushed around by some silly tornado a second time. At least, that was the
idea, until she realizes just how imposing the massive tornado is. A tinge of
doubt causes her to hesitate, doubting her ability to deal with an attack like
that head on. But there's no time to try anything else by this point, so she
continues with the plan she already had. Her Kobi Kyaku would have been an
upwards kick, a blury blue wall of chi offering the chance to reflect back her
opponent's attack. But it would have been impossible to see that as the Screw
Upper crashes against her inspite her efforts, spinning her up some distance,
buffeting her with force, then dropping her back down on the stage
uncerimoniously. Needless to say, while Hotaru does manage to peel herself off
the floor, she isn't about to do anything else right away. Chiding herself for
her hesitation, she rubs the side of her forehead where the beginnings of a
bruise are starting to form.

Lilly peeks through her fingers to see what had just happened... it was against
her better judgement, but her curiousity got the best of her. Seeing the poor
girl picking herself up off the floor, Lilly blurts out angrily, "Joe, what are
you doing to her?!"

Even Joe flinched when the powerful vortex slams into Hotaru, his eyes
shifting to Lilly to see her watching the whole fiasco unfold on the low-priced
appliance stage. It was going to take more than flowers and pretending to enjoy
house cleaning to get out of this one. He flinches again as Lilly shouts at him.
"I'm sorry! I have to do my best! Who knows what this orphan can do!" Joe shouts
back, shrugging appologetically and trying desperately to look sorry for beating
up what the audience sees as a helpless little orphan girl trying to make money
the only way she knows how. In fact, the audiences cheers for Joe quickly turns
to boos as Hotaru's bruise becomes plainly visible. Joe, looking sheepish, moves
to the center of the ring and takes a defensive stance.
He knew that he could probably finish this fight right now, but if he did,
he'd have the worst week ever. So instead, he was going to give the girl an
option to finish it off. "Okay kid. Here's the deal. You hit me as hard as you
can and I'll make it look real nice. Cause if I actually win, that cute little
blonde number over there is never going to talk to me again. Fighting is bad
enough, but beating up cute little orphans in front of your girlfriend is bad
news." With that, Joe gives Hotaru a thumbs up and a sparkling smile.

COMBATSYS: Joe takes no action.

[ .........\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////// ]
Joe 0/-------/-------|=======\===----\1 Hotaru

Slow to even adjust back into a ready stance, it's clear that Joe's opponent
doesn't have a whole ton of fight left in her after taking that last attack full
on. She's having a hard time telling if she's getting the audience's pity by
now, and to a certain extent, it would be even more difficult to concentrate if
she was. So Hotaru tunes them out, focusing only on Joe now, lifting her arms
into a ready stance - one arm lower, in front, her other hand raised up next to
her head. And then there's the exchange between them on the stage too quiet for
the noiser audience to hear and Hotaru blinks, taking in Joe's offer
thoughtfully. On one level, she feels like she shouldn't even take him up on it,
as it would sully the sacred art of combat and like her father said blahblah-
Okay, forget that. If he's going to give her a free hit, that's his business. In
fact, his thumbs up and signiture smile are even a tad disarming. In spite her
aches, Hotaru grins a little. Okay, maybe he's not as bad as she thought after
all.

It's hard to gauge how hard to hit someone when they're offering to take it, but
if it wouldn't be right for to not help him make it look good, right? A split
second after the grin crosses her lips, Hotaru launches into an attack that, at
first glance, might just look like a lot of arm flailing, not unlike Joe's
earlier stumble, but it is really a carefully controlled whirlwind of punches,
each blow backed by small bursts of chi to make up for the otherwise not
terribly strong force her punches would normally deliver.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru successfully hits Joe with Sou-shou Tenrenge.

[ ...................\\\\\\\ < > /////////// ]
Joe 0/-------/---====|==-----\-------\0 Hotaru

Even after being hit by a few of Hotaru's moves already, Joe still thought
of her as a little girl, which is a huge error on his part. His signature smile
is still in place as Hotaru begins to flail wildly towards him. An eyebrow
raises and Joe's smile falters slightly in confusion, that is until the first
hit connects. He hadn't even tried to take the hits properly, so each successive
hit drives him back further and further until he slumps back against a dish
washer, panting heavily. Well, that was a mistake, she really can hit hard after
all. Joe reaches up and rubs his chest for a second, the red welts from Hotaru's
strike plainly visible to everyone now. "Jeez!"
Joe pushes off of the dish washer ( with Quiet Run Technology ) and
quickly launches into an attack, his body twisting about as he thrusts himself
towards Hotaru. His leg comes up quickly as he turns, his leg aimed squarely at
the girl's mid-section as his entire body leaves the ground to 'fly' towards the
poor, abused orphan.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru blocks Joe's Slash Kick.

[ ................\\\\\\\ < > //////// ]
Joe 0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0 Hotaru

Lilly is rendered speachless as she watches her dear Joe pummeled into
submission. She begins to wring a bit of her shirt nervously, now starting to
wonder if maybe the helpless girl isn't so helpless after. She manages a very
soft, "Joe, be careful." to herself.

Hopping back after pinning Joe to the appliance, Hotaru waits to see if he gets
up from that. That probably doesn't take too much pretending on his part to make
it 'look good.' After a moment, she thinks she might have gone too far and there
is a tinge of guilt about it. "Ah-" she begins to reply, before Joe recovers and
jumps toward her with a kicking attack. Reacting with a block, Hotaru winces as
the attack seems to still hit pretty hard. Feeling both the fatigue of the fight
and the injuries sustained by the attacks that did land, Hotaru moves a little
slower than she had earlier, but she still tries to fight back anyway. Once
again with the chi-ball, just like earlier.

However, Joe gets no sympathy from Andy Bogard, who seems to have become lost in
the 52" screen of a beautiful LCD television set. Of course, there's lots of
other appealing things here, too. Dishwashers, washers, dryers, Joe getting the
life beaten out of him by a tiny girl... hey, maybe Andy should stop by here
more often.

COMBATSYS: Joe endures Hotaru's Hakki Shou.
[ .....................\\ < > ////// ]
Joe 0/-------/-======|====---\-------\0 Hotaru

After his hit connects, Joe hops back a couple steps and puffs out his
chest, his arms raising in victory as Hotaru falls back. Unfortunately, he's
forgotten that he's no longer the favorite in this fight and the audience
respond with a renewed bought of booing. Joe, looking like a hurt puppy, shies
away from the boos and looks back to Hotaru just in time to see the ball of
energy flying towards him. He really should pay more attention. Joe takes the
hit squarely in the chest with a rather harsh grunt to back it up. There's no
denying that he felt that one, especially since he screams in shock like a
little girl once the pain sets in. Joe hops back a few steps, trying to regain
his manly composure. That was it. He knew that winning would only mean hell for
him, but that hurt!
Once again, Joe dips down into a move that Hotaru has already seen twice
before. The familiar uppercut, the vortex of wind. All of it has been done
before. However, this time Joe goes back down again, another uppercut following
quickly behind the first one, sending another tornado towards Hotaru. He didn't
care if everyone hated him for doing it, but he already looked bad enough here!

Joe 0/-------/--=====|====---\-------\0 Hotaru

COMBATSYS: Hotaru reflects Double Hurricane Upper from Joe with Kobi Kyaku.
-* CRITICAL HIT! *-

Still just barely hanging in there, Hotaru watches Joe's attack carefully. The
tornado thing, she knows about it. And not the giant one this time! One last
chance to show him that she knows how to handle that projectile of his. Or one
last chance to eat an attack from him that will send her to the 'mat'. "Kya!"
she exclaims, kicking the first tornado right back at him with increased speed.
So fast, in fact, that it manages to barrel right through the second tornado and
continue right back on toward Joe.

COMBATSYS: Joe dodges Hotaru's Reflected Double Hurricane Upper.

It was time for the victory dance! Hotaru was just standing there intending
to take it like a man... woman... girl... orphan... whatever. Instead, her leg
kicks upwards and suddenly, Joe's certain victory comes swirling back towards
him at high speeds. With another high-pitched shout of surprise, Joe dives out
of the way, landing hard against a clothes dryer marked 'Priced to sell!'. His
tornadoes swirl into the crowd, scattering customers, blue-shirted employees and
sale flyers everywhere. Joe was looking pretty beat up now with bruises all over
his chest, a big lump on his head from a fridge, and quite a few bruises on his
sides from crashing into other appliances. This fight was not going well.
Well, it was obvious that the girl was on to his tornado trickery, so Joe
decided to try and end the match the only other way he knew how. With his fists
of justice! The crazy-haired man lunges for Hotaru, his fists moving in a flurry
as he attempts to knock the innocent girl out once and for all!

COMBATSYS: Hotaru dodges Joe's Bakuretsu Ken.

Gulp. Hotaru's losing speed and that incoming flurry looks like it will hurt
like crazy. Half-dodging, half almost stumbling, Hotaru moves out of the way of
Joe's incoming attack. Which saves her from getting hit. But she doesn't
actually get her leg out of the way in time as Joe rushes at her. Resulting in
an unintended chance for Joe to trip over it.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru successfully hits Joe with Light Kick.

Joe 0/-------/=======|======-\-------\0 Hotaru

Joe's fists never seem to connect with anything even though he was really aiming
for Hotaru, honest. In his confusion, Joe doesn't notice that his opponent had
fallen backwards, leaving her foot in his path. He trips over the extended
appendage and slams head first into a brand new freezer. He bounces backwards
from the strike and starts falling towards Hotaru, out cold.

COMBATSYS: Joe can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru blocks Joe's Quick Throw.

|======-\-------\0 Hotaru

Hotaru winces as Joe bounces off the freezer. Partially because that looked like
it hurt. But also because the store owner is looking at her, as the only
standing fighter, as the one to place all the blame on for damaged appliances.
Wondering if that's coming out of her 'commensurate pay,', she doesn't notice
the incoming Joe until he just about falls right on her. "Ah! Mister Joe!" But
he's out and she's left as the victor as a result. Surveying the damaged
appliances as a result of the match, and while not amazingly proficient at math,
she quickly calculates that the costs to appliances is probably a lot more than
her commensurate pay. Deciding thus to avoid any other fall out, Hotaru bows
quickly toward the owner, then quickly toward the audience, then quickly toward
The Joe, "It was an honor to fight you, I hope someday that-" Erk, manager
incoming. Not hanging around any longer, Hotaru puts a spring in her step, leaps
over the appliance wall, and disappears into the crowd.

COMBATSYS: Hotaru has ended the fight here.

Lilly stands up suddenly, climbing over the appliances to get to Joe, "JOE!" she
calls to him, seeing him knocked unconscious, "Joe, are you okay?!" she rushes
to his side and scoops him up, shaking him lightly, "Joe! JOE!"
