Neo League 301 - #323: Shermie vs Hinako

Description: Shermie and Hinako face off in the first Neo League fight for the woman who may or may not have eyes. No tricks or elaborate setups, just some good old fashioned grappling in the White Arena at Master's Stadium. (Winner: Shermie)



What's a woman to do?

The first time back in the saddle is the hardest, at least that's what some cowboy probably said sometime somewhere. In actuality, it's been months since Shermie's done more than backhand energetic attempting gropers, so the return to the ring wasn't something she just wanted.. It was something she /needed/ as well. The choice of challenger was more difficult, the end result being 'I threw a dart at a wall, and here is the name it hit'. She doesn't know anything about her combatant other than what the league showed. Still, all told - it should be an interesting fight.

More at home on the stage than a dojo floor, Shermie's pink boots clatter and clack with each step, probably doing horrible things to the fine wood - more's the pity! She runs her fingers through her hair as she looks out to the crowd - it's a party that only the truly dedicated came to - very few of her fans, sadly. She'll accept this and deal with it. After all, she's just trying to get a bit of rust off here, then she'll move back to where /her/ fans are!

Hinako shows up just a few moments after Shermie, the sound of her weighted shoes on the wooden floor heralding her arrival. She doesn't have much of an advantage of Shermie when it comes to knowledge about her opponent, either. She's heard the name, but she hasn't actually seen the woman in action before. No time like the present to rectify that, however.
Hinako drives her right fist into the taped up palm of her left hand, bowing deeply to Shermie, then stands back up straight with a friendly smile. "Thanks for giving me this opportunity, miss Shermie. I hope we can both get a good fight out of this!" It's not that Hinako doesn't take fighting seriously... It's just that she doesn't see why taking it seriously means people need to be so somber or aggressive.

"I agree - let's give them something to cheer about!"

Shermie, if she could read minds, would agree with the sentiment - taking things seriously doesn't mean you have to be all mopey or angry in the ring. This is going to be a good test, and a good way to stretch all the kinks of hers out, after this long time away. And when she's given the formal bow, Shermie returns it, though it's not nearly as practiced.

Afterwards, she draws back up and holds one hand out towards Hinako, the other held in near to her hip. She shifts her leading leg, and tests her grip on the floor. Good enough - she'll be ready for whatever Hinako has to offer. "Alright... Show me what you've got!" she says, enigmatic grin growing wide as she urges the other fighter forwards!

Hinako grins as she crouches forward into her fighting stance, leaning forward with both arms held out in front of her. "Okay, here I come!" And with that, she's off. A nice, flat, solid floor is perfect for Hinako, since it means she barely even needs to think about where she's placing her feet. That's all second nature by now, at least when she doesn't have to worry about tripping on something or putting her foot through the floor.
Charging at Shermie, Hinako tries to hook one hand up under the woman's arm, then use the other hand to get a grip on the opposite hip. If she can pull that off she yanks down and to the side, attempting to send the Orochi-blooded fighter crashing down to the floor.

And we're off!

Shermie doesn't pull her arm back quickly enough to escape the grip of Hinako's fingers, the older woman being pulled in and against Hinako for the throw. She eels about just a bit at the last part of the throw, her leg coming up behind her, stopping her from being thrown down, instead dropped into a deep dip, still half-held by Hinako, nice and close. Even this close, though - her eyes still can't be seen, but the smirk splits into a grin. "I didn't know we were going dancing, Hinako~!" she teases, and then ... attempts to tighten Hinako's grip on her!

As she does so, she makes a somewhat unladylike grunt of effort, and attempts to lift and flip Hinako over her leaned - back form, to give her that impact with the ground she seemed to be trying so hard to give to Shermie. After all, Shermie's a very /giving/ person - at least with the suplexes!

Just because Shermie seems to want Hinako to maintain her grip doesn't mean Hinako's going to let go. No, not even when she finds herself being lifted up off the ground and over Shermie's shoulders. Ah, the bane of Hinako's existence. Other sumos generally have less to worry about when it comes to people yanking them up and off their feet. Hinako, however, is a bit on the light side.
Still, she's got a plan. She keeps a grip on Shermie as she gets suplexed, intending to send the woman flying as soon as she's in contact with the ground again. Unfortunately for Hinako, that contact is a bit more jarring than she expected. She loses her grip on her opponent, forcing her to quickly scramble to get back to her feet. "Nice one!"

And.. Hinako escapes her clutches! Which is for the best - Shermie didn't have much of a move ready after that. So instead, well - she gets back to her feet with an acrobatic display of dexterity, and a flash of leg for the crowd. Facing away from Hinako, she looks over her shoulder at the girl, and gives her a nod of approval. "You're not half-bad yourself..!" But still, this /is/ a fight, so she had best get to fighting!

Shermie takes a half step, and then just rushes directly at Hinako. She leaps into the air, and attempts to get a hand on and in Hinako's hair - if she can, well...

Hinako would prefer not to get yanked around by the hair, if it's all the same. And so she quickly leans to the side as Shermie reaches out for her, twisting so that the woman only manages to bump into Hinako's shoulder. She quickly spins around to follow Shermie as she lands, not wanting to lose track of her opponent. It's all well and good to compliment each other during a fight, but they /are/ both here to win it.
And once Shermie is back on the ground, Hinako moves to demonstrate that sumo isn't just about throwing people around. The strength in Hinako's arms is good for more than just picking up heavy objects. She ducks down slightly as she moves in toward Shermie, thrusting out with both hands in an attempt to drive a double palm strike into the pit of Shermie's stomach.

Here to win it, indeed! Shermie's just as dedicated to winning this match as Hinako is, and as soon as she decides the best way to prove it, well - she'll do so! As Hinako thrusts that double-palm strike forwards, Shermie falls back - keeping the girl's fists /just/ out of reach of her stomach. After all, she just had a nice meal, and a punch like that would be a horrible danger to the digestion.

The grin fades from Shermie's lips as she focuses more on the fight - the edge of the stage is very close, and while she's there, she wants to make sure she doesn't get caught between the viewing enclosre's wall and Hinako. So she takes a half step back and then whips around, long ponytails flying out from the force. But it's not the ponytails that Hinako should fear - no, it's the whip-like motion of her right leg, aimed right at Hinako's head!

Hinako's not unaware of the fact that Shermie is getting driven back toward the wall. If she can pull it off right, that could work in her favor. But Shermie isn't trapped yet, as evidenced by the leg sweeping out toward Hinako's head. The sumo attempts to duck under the kick, but isn't quite quick enough. Shermie's leg clips her in the top of the head, sending her stumbling to the side. It's not quite enough to knock her off her feet, though, and Hinako recovers quickly.
Lunging at Shermie, Hinako attempts to drive a palm strike into the center of the woman's torso. That's just the opening, though, because she next tries to grab Shermie's arms, spinning her around and hurling her against the wall.

Shermie's foot comes back down, her back to Hinako again as she recovers from her Axle Spin Kick. She starts to turn back towards Hinako, only to see the girl charging in again. This time, the hand is higher, and the palm strike that comes in is faster - but Shermie's faster too. And at the end, she's /just/ fast enough that the attempted hit ends up with a clapping noise of Hinako's fingers against the heart-shaped cutout in Shermie's blouse! She barely evades Hinako's attempt to grab her arms, eeling away again with a look of shocked horror on her lips. Mock - horror, of course - she has a good idea what the girl was /really/ trying to do.

"Aa! It's that kind of fight then?!" she says, before she steps in towards Hinako, left leg flashing out in a kick first at knee height, then quickly shifting it to an axe kick from above. She's going to try to knock Hinako down to her knees - whether it works or not is anyone's guess, though!

Hinako blinks a few times in surprise at Shermie's reaction. "What? I- wait..." She blinks again, then her eyes widen and her face starts to go red. "N-no! That's not it at all!" She starts to wave her hands in frantic denial, but then Shermie is moving back in toward her. Hinako may be a bit nonplussed at the moment, but it doesn't mean her fighting instincts have dulled.
Shermie's kick strikes Hinako in the knee, but she's already lunging forward. It would be fair to say that Hinako probably has the sturdiest legs of any girl her age, and although the kick hurts it isn't nearly enough to slow her down. She hits Shermie shoulder first, driving the Orochi back from the impact and knocking through her guard. Hinako than explodes in a flurry of palm strikes, blow after blow landing all across Shermie's body. Finally the burst of attacks ends with a double palm strike to the gut, but even that isn't the /real/ end. No, there's still one more thing to go, as Hinako grabs Shermie by the waist, plucking Shermie up off the ground and hurling her most of the way across the length of the arena.

"Aaaa!"

No, Shermie doesn't get much more to say than that before she's enveloped in the series of open-hand strikes, bounced back and forth bodily before being brazenly bashed and brained, the floor and wall her /new/ best friend! She's slow to recover, a bit dizzy as she gets to knees. A hand goes to her face, rubbing a particlarly red handprint in an attempt to make it go down. After a few more seconds, though, she's back to her feet, throwing her hand through her bangs, and /almost/ letting Hinako see the ferocity in her eyes - but no, no.. they still hide. "Very, very good..!"

Without another seconds hesitation, she starts forwards again at a full-speed sprint. She leaps up again, but this time doesn't attempt to hop on Hinako's shoulders. No, she simply attempts to catch Hinako on her way over the girl, and then launch her over by her neck, using Shermie's back for leverage. Such a move would probably kill someone 'normal', but after the beating she's just taken from Hinako, Shermie is pretty darn sure that it'll just make Hinako a quarter-inch taller!

Hinako finds herself snared by Shermie, but not quite quickly enough for the older woman's plan to go off without a hitch. Hinako manages to get her arms in the way, so although she's grabbed and thrown, it's not particularly painful. Especially since she manages to twist in mid air and land on her feet. Sumo training may not have a lot to do with aerial combat, but landing? That's something Hinako has some experience with.
No time to dawdle, though. Hinako quickly spins around to face Shermie, throwing herself full on at her opponent. She attempts to crash right into Shermie and wrap her arms around her, getting a nice, tight grip. The next step in the plan is to lean back while pulling up, yanking Shermie up off the ground and sending her sailing toward the ceiling.

"We *nff!* 're going to give them ideas!"

Hinako seems to be at least a little-flusterable, so Shermie is going to be doing her best to give her some flustering. If for no other reason that unflustered, Hinako hits light a freight train! Sheesh! Hinako's attempt to grab and squeeze is effective enough, the breath crushed out of her by Hinako being used to whisper something into the other girl's ear! Quite possibly something about how someone was leering behind her. Sadly, it doesn't stop Shermie from getting chucked upwards towards the ceiling, but it seems to have given Shermie just enough leeway to actually land feet first on the ceiling, and to drop down without too much effort back on the floor of the arena.

She stops talking afterwards - she's determined to try and end this fight right now. She rushes inwards, and attempts to just slide sideways around Hinako, to get her arms /nice/ and snug against the other girl's middle.

With that grab, Shermie takes a breath and then /slams/ into a back bridge, carrying Hinako with her, letting the girl's head and shoulders and neck take the brunt of the impact. As soon as it hits, Shermie calls out a slow three count, even though there isn't a referee to stop the fight, or call it done. But she can hold this pose all day - and is more than willing to hold it till Hinako shakes loose, or calls it quits!

Hinako Shijou is not one to give up quite that easily! Even if she is feeling a bit woozy and her head is starting to spin. Perhaps it's time, though, to show Shermie just how strong Hinako is. Shifting her shoulders, Hinako manages to plant her hands on the floor which is now, from her perspective, above her head. The muscles in her arms tense up as she draws deeply from whatever well provides so much power for such a small body. And then, shoving hard, she launches herself up into the air. And there's plenty of force to take Shermie along for the ride if she doesn't let go.

And with that single heave, both women are sent rocketing up into the air. Good thing there's plenty of ceiling room in here. And once they're up in the air, Hinako manages to wriggle out of Shermie's grip, twisting around so that she's looking down at the woman. Her arms go back then her hands shoot out, another double palm strike hitting Shermie dead on, but with considerably more force than before. And Shermie will find herself being sent back down to the ground at a much higher speed than Hinako. She may or may not achieve a better landing than the sumo, though, since that extra strain was a bit too much. She blacks out on the way down, limply hitting the floor face down. Ow.

A better landing, but not by much. Back-first, legs akimbo, bound and broken on the fl.. wait, wrong song. Shermie's head bounces off the arena floor, but it's the back of her head and not the front like Hinako. Ouch indeed. She lays there for a moment, then gets to her feet unsteadily, testing to make sure everything still works the way it's supposed to. After that, well - she holds up her hands in victory, for the small crowd about and around to see. It's only for a moment or two, then she's waving in the medics, and she'll hang by to make sure Hinako is okay - and to compliment her on a fight well done. Very well done indeed!
