It's a simple proposition: Put your money where your mouth is, is the gist of it. No unpredictable fights, it's not even one of his own sponsored bouts, though obviously Geese's peopled partnered closely with Ken's, to provide camera and facility work for this event. Kyo said his flames were uber, unstoppable, FIERY AS HELL ITSELF... Geese said no way, and let's face it, the people have a right to know. Once Kusanagi answered the challenge, it was a small thing, by Howard Media standards, to ready the arena for the fight.
Geese is present on schedule, and the arena itself has mostly full seats, plenty of fight fans turning out to see the impromtu event that is both a clash of proverbial titans... and Howard's debut in the reputedly competing fighting network. The statuesque blonde is dressed simply, traditionally... his feet tightly wrapped in white bands, his hakama pants a deep, rich blue. Leather bracers surround his wrists in a matching hue, with gold trim, and the ensemble is finished off by a white gi shirt belted in black. Functional, simple, with just that tiny bit of flash so you know it's genuine Geese(tm). The crimelord stands in his arena with his arms crossed, seemingly meditative.
Some meters across the arena from Geese is his opponent, the perhaps equally-infamous Kyo Kusanagi. Compared to the crimeboss, Kusanagi's demeanor is almost flippant; his thumbs are hooked onto his jean pockets, and that infuriatingly cocky smirk is plastered squarely upon his face.
"I guess I should feel honored that you actually decided to stop hiding out in that office of yours to come down and face me!" He remarks with no small amount of humor while letting one hand drop to his side. His next phrase has a bit more edge to it, "...but really, that just makes me want to beat the hell out of you even more!"
"Hah." Geese quips, his ice blue eyes opening as Kyo steps up, and makes his presence known, "I've been fighting, it's you who's been scarce. I expected -you- to issue a challenge after your showing at SNF." A low chuckle leaves Howard's lips, and he uncrosses his arms, stepping forward towards Kyo and giving his neck a singular, slow crack via a smirking stretch, "So tell me, are you the true heir to a legendary style..." the musing expression remains, as Geese's eyes narrow slightly.
"Or just another pretender with more power than purpose? Your sense of entitlement will not save you here." Howard paces forward once more, but despite the countdown finishing and the contestants being sicc'ed on each other, he doesn't immediately charge. He watches Kusanagi, and smirks, eyes cold.

"Tch, don't flatter yourself..." Kyo says, almost with a laugh. His hands are still at his sides even as Geese begins to approach. "You got a few cheap shots in during a match where I was already outnumbered," he shrugs a shoulder, "I don't let minor stuff like that bother me."
His arms move upwards as he lazily adopts his ready position, still staring evenly at Geese, "...I wasn't about to turn down a challenge from a loser like you though!" Geese is too cool to be baited like this, of course, but Kusanagi doesn't stop from trying anyways.

Geese seems far more amused than baited, a slight shake of his head coming as he stalls in his approach, "Loser, hmm? Yes, from the kid who acts more like a grouchy old man. Don't tell me you're crying over that much already." Geese laughs, long and hard, a hearty and entertained sound, before... just out of -nowhere-.... his left arm whips up and around. Enough of this talking shit.
A tremendous spout of purple-edged, brilliant blue energy blasts forth before Howard, chi coursing from his curled fingers, and those of his right hand when it follows suit, "DOUBLE...." and the second motion sends a brilliant surge into the already potent geyser, and it blasts forth in a wave taller than Kusanagi himself, threatening to envelop him entirely in its shearing mass. Flaring brilliant blue and darker hues, the tidal wave is launched almost effortlessly, the epic charge of chi power undeniably potent, surging with an echoing, "REPPUKEN!"

Kyo's feet first skid backwards across the arena floor as both bursts of Geese's Reppuken technique strike him, then has to improvise a backflip as his feet leave the ground, eventually landing in a three-point position. A solid hit, obviously, but Kyo's taken worse, and one technique doesn't decide a fight!
His cocky grin undetterred, even by Geese's heavy blow, he dashes forward from his semi-crouched stance towards his opponent with terrific speed, only reaching out with an open hand for Geese's neck at the last possible moment.

The problem, in this case, is getting a hand on Geese's neck in the first place. Geese's smirk remains in place as Kyo falteringly braces himself for the blast, seeming rather satisfied by the result despite Kusanagi's attempt to minimize it. And when the Scion of Flames rushes him? Geese simply weaves aside on steady feet, shifting towards his opponent's flank, "You must have better than that." Howard observes, even as he seeks to clamp a hand around Kyo's extended wrist from above, and harshly twist it behind him as Geese steps in, using the leverage to literally flip Kyo around by a snapping crack of his arm if his grip is true, and subsequently slam him to the stoney ground.

Kyo dives right past the crimeboss, who seems to be in a perfect position to strike Kusanagi right in his blind spot, but when the young fighter's wrist is snatched out of the air by Howard, it doesn't budge. Instead Kyo is able to momentarily overcome Geese's strength and use the crimeboss' grip on his wrist as leverage, pull himself, shoulder first, into the sternum of his foe.
WHAM. Just like that, Howard is driven back, his stable, confident stance momentarily ruined by a barreling Kusanagi. He corrects quickly however, stepping back once, twice, and drawing a breath into his lungs with a renewed smirk, "Better." He congratulates, again even as he moves, stepping forward and reaching both hands in on Kyo, seeking to overwhelm the young fighter's guard quickly, and quite harshly heft him up by his jacket. At that point, Howard would turn, whipping Kusanagi about with powerful arms, before a sudden inversion and downward slam would piledrive Kyo into the rocks. Just like he planned before, but nastier. This is the escalation in the crimelord's personal arms race, just now.

Kyo takes another hard hit, making a sickening crunching sound as he strikes the tiled arena floor; whether the noise is from bones, stone, or both failing under the force of Geese's attacks is not readily apparent. For his part though, a clod of blood spits out of Kyos mouth as he hits the ground.
In attempt to buy some time, Kyo plants on one hand, still mostly sprawled out on the ground in front of Geese, and bends an arm, trying to deliver an incapacitating elbow to the side of Geese's knee. Not exactly the easiest thing when it's covered by that famous hakama of Howard's!

Geese turns to follow Kyo as he rights himself, sort of, on the arena floor. The striking elbow is met as Geese drops low into the strike, bending a knee and intercepting the hit before it can culminate, with the dense muscle of his thigh, which is somewhat like slamming into brick beneath those dark hakama. Granted, it stings for Geese too, but he doesn't miss a beat. Both hands seek to grab Kyo by his hair, and jerk him up off the ground, before slamming him face-first back down into it, "Don't tell me you're getting tired already, Kusanagi!"

Kyo is grabbed by his hair, making a protesting sound as he starts to be yanked up to his feet. He has to improvise again; this time he manages to set his feet on the ground before Geese begins the motion to slam his face into the floor. He's able to break the painful grasp on his mane of brown hair by vaulting upwards into the air.
"Just...." gravity takes hold and he careens straight down towards Geese again all whilst bringing the heel of his right foot down upon the top of Geese's shoulder, "...BORED!"
Hah. Well, Kyo packs a punch, Howard will certainly give him that. Geese is knelt by the powerful axe to his shoulder, driven back off his offensive a moment as a predatory grin widens across his features, "I bet you get that a lot." The crimelord muses without explanation, before he lunges forward, seeking to offset Kusanagi's footing once more. This time, it's a hurtling toss upwards, a disorienting flight that would lead to the Syndicate boss intercepting Kyo's descent with extended palms. The double palmstrike is hardly the clincher here, however... the key to this technique lies in the raw explosion of white-blue chi that blasts with searing, icy heat from both of Howard's palms, seeking to literally rip Kusanagi apart in the conflux.
.... or at least, blast the damnably resilient Scion clear across the arena with a severe headache.

Kusanagi is thrown backwards, again, by Geese's combination throw, the energy blast especially tearing into him. He's slower to pick himself up this time, as the cumulative effects from all of Geese's exceedingly powerful techniques begin to pile up. "Hnnk... just when I have to deal with lame attacks like that one you just tried..." he mutters, spitting out another clod of blood off to the side disdainfully.
Shaking his head a little to knock the cobwebs aside, the seemingly foolhardy scion of the flames charges right at Geese again, launching a barrage of quick jabs and body blows designed to try and keep Howard off-balance and incapable of planting for another one of his devastating throws.

Geese lets out a rather mocking chuckle, "I'd say we're seeing rather definitively who's techniques are 'lame', thus far." A little taunting might do the trick, here. Sure, Kyo has more to give, but Howard definitely seems to think he's on top. An opinion he has no apparent trouble seeking to rub in, "Weak!" he exclaims as Kyo charges in, the first of his jabs caught in one solid palm, his left arm flexing and pushing Kyo's fist back in the same instant that his right palm aligns with Kusanagi's stomach.
... from that palm, almost nostalgically now, a sphere of shearing, icy chi blasts forth in voluminous waves of blue and white, exploding over Kyo before he can even think of launching a further blow, and launching the Scion of Flames away from the smug crimelord.
This just isn't Kyo's day. For some reason he can't explain, Geese's attacks seem all so fast that he can barely even see the nature of the technique before it strikes him, let alone make any attempt to doge. It may be terrible luck, it may be rustiness, it may be that the rumors are true and Geese has made a deal with the devil: In any case, Kyo's getting beat up, and badly.
It's almost become a cliche in this fight for Kusanagi to find himself picking his battered body up off the ground, as he's done so again, and again, and again. He's been utterly humiliated, and the fact that he's such a prideful fighter to begin with only compounds the embarassment. "You bastard..." Kyo spits, defiant to the end, because it doesn't matter what forces align against him, it doesn't matter what impossible odds he's placed up against, he's a Kusanagi, and they always, ALWAYS go down fighting to the bitter end.
To that end, Kyo raises his hand up above his head, a move that should be obvious to anyone with any prior knowledge of Kyo's fights. His fingers twitch slightly as he calls upon the ancient flame of his clan.
But it doesn't come out.
Kyo is shocked. He tries again, but to no avail, "No..."

Of course, Kyo's pride... and particular bloodline... is what makes this interesting for Geese. What his intent may be is sometimes hard to tell, but he's clearly satisfied with the anger and embarassment Kusanagi is espousing now. Sometimes, it can be dangerous to bet against the home team. Still, when Kyo defiantly drags himself up, and fails to rouse the chi to perform his expected, infamous maneuver, even Geese seems surprised and mildly disappointed.
"Ah, is that all then, Kusanagi?" Howard inquires, righting his own stance to a casual alertness, hands hanging at his sides as he recenters his own still rather steady inner power, eyeing Kyo evenly, "Feel free to walk away, I think we've seen what there is to see here." Either he's legitimately writing Kyo off, or making one more attempt at drawing out the Flames within... either way, Howard doesn't seem impressed.

Now even his flames have betrayed him.
Kyo hesistates, his expression conflicted. He's still holding his hand up above his head, still trying to call forth his flames which he can't feel a connection to anymore. Even after Geese mocks him he tries, and tries, and tries. No answer. His hand drops to his side and his shoulders slump, dejectedly.
It appears, for a moment, that he will in fact walk off the stage... but after a minute he simply starts running. With the last of his strength he dashes at Geese with what could only be described as a "suicide charge." He has his fist cocked back behind his head, but really he just intends to plow into the crimeboss, even he can even reach that point.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

"Hmph." Geese intones almost glumly as Kyo hesitates. The crimelord can almost -feel- the conflict in the young Scion's inner chi, and it's certainly interesting. Far more interesting, in Howard's perspective, than the raging rush that Kyo finally settles on when he can't find his confidence and strength any other way. It is enough to bring back Geese's smirk, however. Howard's left hand sweeps Kyo's fist wide, in the same fluid motion that the Syndicate boss' elbow-led forearm collides squarely with the charging Kusanagi's face.
It's one solid blow with Geese's weight behind it, and it would likely shatter a lesser man's jaw, and then some. Most are rather floored by the technique, in the least. But it's executed with a detachment, a technical perfection, that belies one further taunt. No one gets in on Howard without more control than that, "You had your chance."
