Neo League 301 - #305: Aislinn vs Candy

Description: In the luggage claims section of the airport, Candy and Aislinn face off in yet another Neo League match... (Winner: Aislinn)



The airport is apparently the place to be when it comes to fighting tonight. Sanctioned fighting anyway, and the port may very well be one of Candy's favorite spots to have a match at. Since it's said woman's pick this time, she'd chosen an environment she felt she had an advantage in, at a time of day she would have an advantage in. The last flights have come in over an hour ago as it's eleven in the evening, most of the lights are off, save for the baggage area, of course.
That's where Candice Diamond resides, sitting on one of the belts, shifting through her shoulderbag for her usual weapons of choice. The television crew long since had been here, having gotten word of Candice's challenge. There's not too many things about on the carpeted floor, aside from a few signs, the many belts, of course, lined benches, and some stray baggage that some poor suckers left behind. Once her weapons are in hand, the then glances upward to the ceiling, seeming to stare off into space...

Aislinn was surprised; though she and Candy--sorry, Candice--had fought several times, that was over a period of several months. For Candy to issue a reply challenge so soon was unusual. Not that Aislinn would have refused. Odd, isn't it, that friends consider beating the hell out of each other to be a funtime activity. Since it was Candy's challenge, she chose the fight area, and even though the baggage claim is practically free of actual baggage, it isn't -empty-.
Aislinn glances around as she descends the escalator into the baggage area; she is, of course, dressed 'as normal', and at the bottom of the escalator she takes a moment to shake out her hands and her feet, before walking across the area to the designated fight arena.
"So, are we to fight on the moving belts?"

"That could prove interesting," Candy replies without even having to look to Aislinn. She gets to her feet, clicking her heels to cause the wheels to extend from her them. And it is alarmingly soon, and as far as Candy knew, she wasn't capable of holding any grudges. So why was she compelled to match-up again? It's actually possible that it's 'just for fun', "I would be up for such a challenge, let is try it, then.." she then says. She doesn't feel it'd limit her any, after all. The belt is flat and goes around in a large oval, an electric sign hanging low on either of the longer sides of the oval, it would have to be ducked if one were standing on the belt. Otherwise, the luggage clearly seems to drop from a higher belt and likely won't see action at this time.
It's at that very moment the machine hums and starts to move, Candice hopping up onto the black, rough, surface, and does an idle skating in place, standing on the northwest part of the machine.

It was just an idle question--however, when Candy considers -and- accepts... that actually brings a little grin to Aislinn's face. She waits for the belt to start up, listening for that deep-throated whine of engines building up, then hops up onto the belt. As Candy starts skating in place, Aislinn begins a smooth striding in place, content, apparently, to wait this one out... or at least, to wait for the go signal. It certainly will be interesting, this oval match...
Aislinn seems looser, less tense, as the fight begins; but once the word is given, suddenly she is lunging forward, her steps lengthened by the movement of the belt, and then she's ducking low, aiming to sweep Candy's feet out from underneath her.

It should probably be mentioned that the belt is moving in a counter-clockwise direction- In theory that'd make Aislinn's attacks just a little bit slower. On the other hand though, it would also technically mean if Candy could make superior defensive decisions. Clearly it doesn't work that way, as her hop is mis-timed, and as such is enough to throw her off balance and off of the belt with a heavy thump. She immedietly sits up and gets to her feet, hopping onto the belt once again.
Tonfa twirling slowly, Candy attempts to hit Aislinn with an admittedly not very impressive strike, jabbing the smaller end of her weapon into Aislinn's gut.

Aislinn is rising from her crouch even before her kick finishes; as she spins around, she suddenly sees Candy's tonfa jabbing in. The tonfa strikes home--but -not- Aislinn's gut. Though the sound is similar, what actually happened was the edge of Aislinn's hand getting in the way, deflecting the tonfa upwards a little, and absorbing some of the impact. It's an opportunity, if a small one, and one that Ais intends to take advantage of if she can. She grabs for that tonfa, intending to use it to pull Candy forward and throw her down to the surface of the moving belt.

Aislinn's reaction was one Candy apparently was expecting to happen. And her own reaction is something Aislinn may not have expected at all; the very moment her weapon is grabbed..
She lets it go, leaving her with just half of her set. She doesn't know -what- Aislinn will do with the weapon at this point, but she herself intends to return the favor, she attempts to snag Aislinn by her shirt with her opposite weapon- Clearly intending to return the favor by lifting her upward, a twist of her hips and slamming her back down onto the belt.

Aislinn sees a chance--her reaction is simple, an attempt to knock Candy's weapon out of line and create a counter-attack chance. Unfortunately... that weapon is a bit longer than she estimated, or Candy is a bit faster--her leg rises up to use her knee to deflect, but too slow, and she is dumped onto the belt, rolling away from Candy for a second before rising back to her feet. She doesn't look terribly damaged, but that was clearly a blow to her pride, if nothing else...

Candy's style involved a bit of psyche, but it's extremely rare that she goes for humilation. Plenty of people who've fought her recognize her 'freakish' strength. Though only one person was particularly bothered by it.
While Candy can do without it, she'd much prefer to have her weapon back in hand, her eyes do a quick scan for its current location while she continues to press her attack, waiting until Aislinn is just about to get up to launch a flying kick- easily crouching under the sign to pick up the appropriate speed. Should she miss, she shouldn't go off too far, and land on the belt.

Aislinn may not be trying that counter any time soon. Still, she's alert, her eyes flicking back and forth as she watches her opponent. Right now, Candy is far less of her friend than her opponent... actually... she's completely her opponent. The incoming kick is, quite simply, repelled, Ais's forearms coming up to absorb the kick. She drops into a faint crouch, then pushes up, extending her forearms to force Candy back. She waits just a moment, then charges in, taking a few swifts steps then coming in with a quick one-two combination, a quick jab with her left setting up for a long right straight.

An impressive display of power there, while not obvious to the human eye, Candy's rather.. Heavy. The deflection doesn't throw off her balance, however, she lands very gracefully back onto the belt, scooting backward just slightly, and she then realizes her tonfa is behind her. The good news is she can get to it, the bad news is that Aislinn makes it a painful trip, the quick combinatino is enough to make her lose her balance and fall onto her back, the belt carrying her back toward her weapon.
She sits up once more, and with a kick-off, there's enough speed necessary to pick up off her next attack, it's clear she's going to try to grab the girl about her waist once she's close enough. And if she can get that hold, she hops into the air, and executes nothing short of a perfect suplex onto the belt. The bad news is, she'd probably break quite a few reels in the process.

Aislinn, suplex'd. This fight isn't going nearly as well as her last one against Candy--but it's still early yet. The belt's broken, the engine that turns the belt whining against the increased strain... and when Aislinn pulls herself out of the hole created... she's back to her usual self. That is, she looks tense, serious. The belt's no good for fighting on, and so Aislinn makes an attempt to move Candy off of it, executing her own flying kick. It's hard to see under the lights, maybe, but there's a glimmer surrounding her striking foot that wasn't there before... and doesn't seem quite natural.

It probably doesn't help that Candy's memory is the way it is. She can learn from previously mistakes and actually make immensely 'powerful' recalculations.
Then again, it'd only be a matter of time before Aislinn counters that game, but that's what keeps things interesting. There's no doubt in Candy's mind that the gap in fighting ability has increased, and she must learn how to overcome that.
The glimmer is recognized. But Candy see's no reason to expend more energy than she needs to, and as such the kick sent her way slams into just one raised arm, or rather her weapon, pink sparks dancing off of it as if two swords had clashed. The momentum makes her skate backward, rather bumpily so so she hops off the belt, "... Shoddy equipment," she murmurs, and again quickly approaches her opponent. Ai would remember the combination, as Candy strikes low to belt Aislinn in the gut, then snap upward into an uppercut.

Indeed Aislinn -does- remember the combination; her eyes narrow, and at jst the right moment she snaps her left forearm down to stop the low strike, and thus has her right forearm to deflect the uppercut. The strikes hurt, even blocked, but Aislinn shows no pain in her face as she hops backwards a few steps... and sets into a low-ish, defensive stance, red-white energy limning her body in a bright glow--byproduct of the energies flowing inside her, refreshing lost supplies and increasing others...

Candy might actually be intimidated by the gathering of energy, she does faulter slightly- it's a difficult obstacle to work around though, fearful or no. In Candy's case, it's just difficult to figure out a point that's 'safe' to strike, without hurting herself, and standing by isn't an option at the moment.
Candy's arms lower slightly, and she apparently makes a decision for she does rush forward, eyes very slightly narrowed. With just a little bit of space between them, she ends up leaping upward, twirling upside down and over Aislinn- But along the way, jerks her tonfa downward to jab Aislinn in each shoulder with the smaller ends of her weapon.

Aislinn watches Candy's leap impassively... still glowing, still gathering energy. But it's only at the last moment that she throws her hands up, catching the tonfa's staves and letting her grip slow the impact enough so that it doesn't end up hurting all that badly. Aislinn twists, as she pushes the tonfa away, then ends up spinning all the way around to face the landing robot--waiting until those feet just touch down before offering her response--a brutally simple headbutt, of all things, the thickest part of Aislinn's skull used like a hammer to try and attack Candy's own cranium.

Headbutts are a classic maneuver, one Candy could fully endorse being within any fighters arsenal. Actually, Candy doesn't have one, but that's another story for another time. As Aislinn gets close, she /does/ lean slightly to the side, her arm jerking upward, but whatever she was up to didn't work, and the two domes collide, that makes Candy end up sliding back again, her back arched with the motion. It doesn't stop her completely though.
SHe's sort of like a magnet, pushed back but immedietly drawing forward again, Candy gets into Ais personal space to hook her arm around Aislinns neck and force her to bend down. This would then be followed with two quick knees to the head.

Bend down, Aislinn does, but not the way Candy wants. While she hasn't spent much time learning how to take a fall, there are still times she can perform avoidance. Throws -hurt-. So Candy gets that grip, and forces Ais to bend, but then Aislinn is twisting with the manuever, slipping out of that grip before the knees can be introduced to her head. That wasn't very nice. Rather than back off, though, Aislinn decides to keep the fight in close; she twists, bringing her right arm around, folded up, intending to impact her elbow against Candy's temple.

Keeping the fight close clearly isn't a problem for Candy, but how much of an advantage that even is is questionable. What is for sure though is that she's in the perfect position -to- get elbowed, despite the robots efforts to avoid the jab. Her head snaps to the side, but doesn't appear to do much more than that; Candy's arms shift to her left, joining for a brief moment, and with a sharp twist, attempts to slam her tonfa into Aislinns ribs with enough momentum to lift her off the ground.
And then helicoptering from that point, she leaps up to strike with the opposite weapon, until her twirls land 4 hits!

Once again, Aislinn thinks she sees an opening... and once again... she's quite wrong. She gets blown out by the attack, her reaching arms missing their mark and then the helicoptering strikes sending her flying through the air, to land with a skid on the heavy carpet of the baggage claim. She lays there for a moment, arms and legs akimbo, then rather deliberately gets back to her feet one more time...

It's a tough position to be in, when plans don't work out as intended; Candy knows that quite well. But as usual, no mercy is shown whether mistakes are noticed or not, and with Aislinn down, Candy is certainly trying to work out a wa to take advantage of it. But there's no immediet strategy here, which forces Candy instead to back off just a little, fists raised, and drops into a crouch, to allow herself instead to boost herself with a small recovery.

Honestly, Aislinn could charge in, right now. But she... well, she doesn't feel like it. With Candy taking her opportunity to rest, Aislinn takes a small breather as well, though her arms never come down out of her guard stance. She plans on remaining always at the ready, resting or not. Sometimes it's the correct move, to slow the pace of a fight...

It leaves to wonder what Aislinn's strategy at this point is, Candy can't read what moves her opponent may be planning.. And so she's forced to have to find out the hard way- What kind of back-up plan she has remains to be seen, of course, but Candy suddenly skating toward Aislinn liekly isn't a plea for a hug. Pace picking up, she seems like she's going to skate right past Ai, which she does.. It's just she makes a sudden u-turn from behind, her hand snapping back to hook her arm about the back of the other girls neck, dragging her along a few strides before hopping into the air and sending both of them crashing to the floor with jarring force.

Aislinn is being attacked with a distressing number of throw-based attacks. It's true that they're a weakness for her, and she knows that Candy, who would be privy to Aislinn's training information and records, would know this... but having to defend against them is becoming somewhat irritating to her, enough so that she finally decides to just 'bring it'. After taking the dropping impact, Aislinn wastes little time in returning to her feet. And then she simply points at Candy--with her left hand--and then a blaze of chi energy resolves itself into a blade spearing up right underneath Candy's position.

Candy's own troubles.. Well they're the least of her worries, really. She has to use her own variety of attacks, as repetitive as they may seem, but.. it works most of the time. The chi sent blazing her way was likely a test of luck- And one that she isn't backing down from, at least this time, as her weapon is raised, twirls like a copter blade, and the energy literally bounces right off of her unorthodox shield, the sparks again brouncing off of her weapon. It looks likeit's going to get ugly from this point.

About the only good thing that's happened in the last few moments is that Candy's reflection of Aislinn's chi took most of the bite out of it; her own energies wash right over her and barely seem to matter. But there is something changing in Aislinn's expression. Apparently she had been thinking that this would be 'for fun'... she's apparently changed that decision entirely. It's not tangible, but there's a definite desire to 'win'. That desire, however, wil have to be sublimated for now, as Aislinn once again takes a rest...

Honestly, if one asked Candy personally, she'd actually have no clue in what consists of a 'fun' fight. She just understands Ai appears to enjoy it, and that's pretty much it. But the entire time she had most definatly been intending on inflicting as much pain as possible. The changes of expression in all three instances are noted, but not acted upon, as she again pushes in close, beleiving sh emay finally be at an advantage. And once close enough, Candy leaps into the air, twists her hips and attempts to land another jumping kick at Aislinn, though this time she intends to hook her foot right down onto Aislinns shoulder, possibly with enough force to ground her. So much for 'light'.

It takes a swift observer to see just what happens when Candy's foot connects. Because connect it does, with Aislinn's shoulder. But somehow, it isn't the way that the observer robot wanted it to. Aislinn ducks the impacted shoulder, slipping free of the impact, and once Candy is at her level, suddenly she's attacking Candy with ferocity; a pair of electric 'blades' form around her fists and she steps forward, not slowly, but deliberately, each step accompanied by a slash from those blades, crossing over and through Candy's torso. Four steps she takes, slashing four times, and then she steps forward as those blades fade away, and pushes Candy backwards just another step... and once again she points and that shimmering blade of red-tinged white energy slashes up through the floor and into Candy's body. Now, Aislinn knows that Candy has the ability to activate hidden reserves... she's just banking on her attack doing too much damage for even those hidden reserves to matter.

The ferocity is made quite clear, yes. And to say that hurt a 'little' would be an understatment. Candy is kncked for a complete loop when Aislinn executes her energy-laced blast, that in any other robots circumstances, would have blown them the hell apart. The damage is clear to see as well, as the cuts along her stomach and arms leak red fluid, and the final blast causes her to fly up a bit into the air and crash onto the ground. It's obviously intended to be the final blow. And of course she technically should be down.
But before the match is called, Candy sits up with a huff of air, setting her arms on her knees as she narrows her eyes for a brief moment.. And then gets to her feet once again, "That was.. Considerably painful. I will pay that back momentarily," she offers.

Okay, okay, admitted: Even though it was Candy, Aislinn -loved- doing that. There is little as satisfying as knowing you just connected a massive attack. Aislinn doesn't let it show, though; she merely nods, when she sees Candy arise, and nods again, when Candy promises some payback. But she isn't interested in sparring with words. Instead, she raises her hands, ala Muay Thai, and beats her shoulders with her fists before concentrating again, calling up energies to replace what she just spent.

Candy rolls her wrists, then her shoulders.. No attack? It works for her, she didn't intend on waiting much longer anyway. Candy rushes forward, arms held out like plane wings for a moment, and then once she's close enough, reaches low to deliver another powerful uppercut. Should she manage to land that blow, she leaps up to follow Aislinn, then deliver another hook to punch her right back down to the floor below.

Unfortunately for Candy, the first blow is met once again by Aislinn's forearms--stiff and painful they are, but they still manage to absorb most of the strike. There's a grunt from the young lavender-haired woman as she's hit, but she doesn't go flying up and so there's no Aislinn to follow up with that aerial rave. Ais, however, may have other plans; she seeks to throw her own combination attack, though it's certainly less flashy, thrusting her right knee up at Candy's chest and, if she makes contact, extending her leg into a full, high front kick.

Candy didn't particularly care what kind of plans Aislinn had, she had her own that at this point, were too late to turn back on. As Aislinn attacks, she notices a massive cloud of steam surround them, hiding them compeltely from the cameras point of view- Aislinn lands the knee to the chest quite well. She probably didn't count on said chest abruptly exploding though, and while in some ways that's prety funny, getting nailed by explodsive laser energy is not. Her eyes glow red for a brief moment, and when the steam clears, her black top is considerably more tattered, the material just enough to keep her decent. She probably won't be jumping upward anytime soon.

Getting nailed like that is never fun. Similarly, Aislinn's clothing is now tattered, though the exposed skin isn't anything near indecent. She staggers backwards a few steps, almost seeming ready to fall.. but not quite ready yet. No, not yet. That was a.. painful... thing. Ais needs time to assess her injuries and to do what she can to heal them, though admittedly, it isn't much. A point to Candy; win or lose, that was one hell of a retaliation.

Candy raises her hand to brush a lock of her hair back a bit, and as one may expect, continues to close in on Aislinn as if she were the T-1000 or something. Whatever breathing space Aislinns needs, Candy doesn't intend on letting her keep it for long, with each stride bringing her closer, it isn't long before shefinds what she thinks is an opening, twisting around sharply to try and slam the flat of her foot into the other girls stomach.

Aislinn admires Candy's tenacity--and also appreciates it. She herself can be rather Terminator-like at times. Rested now, Ais finds a foot coming for her stomach; she responds by ducking low and absorbing the kick on her shoulder, bracing with her rear foot. And then she lunges forward once again... at this range she doesn't have much room to properly execute the technique, but she manages to her hands doubled into fists and thrusts them straight for Candy's sternum as she lunges forward.

Candy is starting to feel a bit sluggish, her skin covered in a sheen of 'sweat', she can tell that her inner systems are working overtime at dangerous levels- It'd be wise for her to end this match as soon as possible, it was difficult to tell how much longer she could hold out.
It was also getting difficult to tell just how badly Aislinn was hurting- What would be the most efficient kind of attack to unleash now? This is pondered as Ai's attack yet again finds itself blocked by Candy's weapon of choice, not budging much from the impact aside from the wheels being forced to the side, and the decision is made-
Candy sweeps slightly low, reaching with her left arm to hook about Aislinn's waist, and she should know what's to follow. She'd lock her arms about the girl and leap upward, and finally corkscrew back toward the ground with not-so-fun results.

Aislinn doesn't look alarmed as Candy rushes her, though she suspects that Candy intends to capitalize on Aislinn's weaknesses--weaknesses that are well-known by the robot. Instead, she braces herself, letting Candy get her grip, and perform the manuever... but the impact is rolled with, Aislinn twisting sharply to break Candy's grip even as she rolls with the impact, tumbling twice before popping back to her feet. She comes up throwing, hurling a gear from the wrecked luggage track at Candy's head.

A gear, while normally would be an impressive impromptu weapon, finds itself no match for what Candy had in mind. Overkill might even be a better word. But still, Candy raises her left tonfa, it giving a light hum before releasing a bolt of energy that splits the thing in two perfect halves, flying by her harmlessly as a result. As for the bolt itself, it continues toward and then right past. The other weapon twirls within her opposite grasp, four more shots are fired in random directions, bouncing off of 'invisible' mirrors at alarming speeds. It's only a matter of time before the angled shots focus to rain down from above!

The fight's gone... not pear-shaped, exactly, but the momentum has clearly shifted. Candy's gotten better in some indefinable way, and while Aislinn is glad to see it... she kind of wishes it wasn't her in the way. Why not Mimiru, instead?
She has little choice but to just cover up, the blasts searing into her leather and flesh; she literally smokes after the assault is over, but she's still standing... and despite the fact that she's been pushed backwards, she appears to want to finish this out, trying to make up the distance before peppering Candy's body with a series of swift (and weak) jabs.

Candy hardly has such concerns- But all she really wants to see is Aislinn improve, which oftime conflicts with her own self-improvment. How that works in the longrun remains to be seen. And then after her assault, Candy slumps forward a bit, her arms dangly, but grip still firm as something that could easily be confused as determination flashes in her eyes. Hardly intimidated by the quick combination, Candy seems to be attempting to just barrel right through it-
But it just doesn't quite work, the blows keep her off-balance enough to keep from continuing with her counter attack, and after a slight stagger, drops to a single knee. Despite her position, it's clear she's not done just yet.

This is down to the wire--possibly the closest match they've had since they began combating each other. Aislinn is breathing hard, bleeding and burned, but Candy can't be faring much better, can she? There's a choice to be made... a choice whether to execute a final attack or hold back and wait... Aislinn doesn't think that her chances are good if she holds back... so she attempts to just end the fight, here and now, lifting her right leg and snapping it out in a side-kick aimed for Candy's chest.

Undoubtedly an extremely close match; it's a little perplexing really, how it took this long for them to have one so close. But nothing to mull over, in the end Candy really won't be satisfied until she has a match in which she battles with the greatest efficiency.
She's yet to learn that something like that simply cannot be calculated these days. She wasn't expecting Aislinn to block her attack. But the follow-up wasn't quite a suprise, and Candy believed she was long since ready for a counter-attack, simple as it was. Leaning to the side, she swipes her weapon outward, with the intent of letting the kick graze her cheek while she crouched- But instead ended up taking the blow straight to the face. Her head knocking backward, and left foot giving out from under her, the demi-punk ends up off balance and sent to the floor once again; this time without the grace of getting back up. She's just too spent.
The officials faulter for a moment, just to make sure that Candy doesn't get up again, and once confirmed, the match is decided. We have a winner!

Aislinn is perhaps surprised--but she doesn't show it. Rather, she holds her kicking pose for a moment, then lowers her leg, slowly, and gazes down at Candy, fallen before her. Those in the crowd who don't know think she's looking down with disgust... the truth is, her expression really is nothing, but she's concerned. Still.. she can't show it. Not in public, not like this. And so she just turns away, the briefest hint of the conflict within showing in her eyes, and as is her custom, just begins walking away while the announcers go through their hulaabaloo.
