Description: Mimiru fights Roberto! (Winner: Mimiru)
So... Roberto wanted to come back from his little hiatus? Well, what a better way to do that than to fight Mimiru! After all, wasn't she part of the reason why he stopped? Awwww! Sort of a fight to regain one's honor and pride! Or something like that. Beside, it's a Taiyo Student, so it'll prove to be quite an interesting match! Fair sports and all, nothing like the competitive spirit of the Taiyo in a fight.
Of course, Himeko must be not too far away. This happens in the dome arena for a reason. "Yeah, this'll be smooth and fun, check this out... More like my kind of fight, really," Mimiru says.
The Taiyo student body is here in force because Roberto had quietly announced that he was officially returning to fighting and when it was announced who he was fighting, well rumor mill was at it again. Now the student body believes that Roberto is out to fight out of revenge for the interference in the charity bout. Once again the rumor mill has gotten all wrong.
Roberto chose Mimiru for his opponent as a way of showing that he has no hard feelings. It is only when he comes out completely relaxed with the trademark mesh bag of soccer ball over his shoulder that those who thought his motives were suspect for choosing her as his opponent see that they were wrong.
There is however another faction of students who have chosen to make this into a battle of the sexes or battle of the sports teams and so there are those that came out to support him as a male and Mimiru as a female and a few factions of the female soccer teams or male basketball teams supporting them as fellow players of their respective sports.
Himeko hasn't seen a Taiyo on Taiyo match in a while, and for Himeko, covering League Matches are much more difficult to do because it can happen at anytime, and anywhere! She's just not /that/ good a reporter, at least not yet. Naturally she is with Mimiru, wearing her usual uniform plus her 'Press' arm-badge, big camera strapped about her neck, "Friendly competition, it has been some time since there's been such a match hasn't there? It should make for a great article!"
So it's good that Himeko is here in Roberto's case. Being of the Taiyo press, she'll see the facts head on! ... Or, Ran might decide controversy equals ratings, and may spice up the article a bit. Then Roberto would be unlucky, "It's been a while, but I'm sure Roberto is still a sharp fighter. Fight smart, all right Mimi-chan?" the bookworm asks to her best friend.
Let them say what they want. That's how things are! Not that Mimiru's going to let herself intimidated by what everyone says. She knows he's going to be good sport, even if he might be out for revenge or whatever. Even if he were, Mimiru'd let him his chance to get it! Everyone deserve a second chance and all, and since he didn't take one to give her a beating...!
Mimiru's lips curl into a smile as Roberto makes his way in. She tilts her head to one side and she waves to him, "Oh-heh," She says. Unlike Roberto, Mimiru doesn't fight with her sport. She's a pure original fighter! More or less. She glances over to Himeko and she gives her a thumbs up, "Don't worry! I'll win, I'm the best!" She says with a grin.
She then returns her attention to Roberto and says, "Well, have a nice fight, right? May the best fighter win!"
Roberto dumps all but one of the soccer balls from his mesh bag. Realizing that distance from the floor to the stands would be too far to throw the mesh bag he performs a chip shot out towards a random crowd member sending both the soccer ball and bag out into the crowd. The ball goes into a managable arc so the audience doesn't have to worry about death by soccer ball.
The soccer star then turns towards Mimiru. "The best eh? Well seeing as I'm more a soccer player than a fighter there'll be no shame in me losing to ya. Of course I still plan on making you work to prove it."
Roberto slips into his goalie stance shifting from foot to foot as if waiting for Mimiru to attempt a penalty shot."The whistle is blowing. Let's see what you've got." Roberto meant that whistle blowing remark in a purely figurative sense... He's not hearing things... Really.

Himeko giggles lightly in agreement, nodding her head, "You are the best, Mimi-chan," she repeats, and gives a little v-sign. This is going to be all about good sportsmanship, she hopes. She then takes a few steps back, raising her camera and adjusting the lens.. She'll be able to follow this match, she hopes!
Mimiru narrows her eyes a bit, "Right... Still, that's no excuse not to give it your best, that's what's important," Mimiru says with a nod of her head. She can't help but glance over to Himeko for that last cheer and than back at Roberto as the whistle's blown.
"Alright then, if that's what you want!" Mimiru says, cracking her knuckles as she gets ready. She kneels slightly and then rushes toward Roberto and as soon as she gets close enough to him, she lunges at him, leaping toward him to make up the distance between him and her. She turns around on herself in midair, and as she does so, white chi flares out of her leg as she attempts to give him a pretty nasty roundhouse kick. Flaming one at that.

Roberto watches as the flaming roundhouse flies towards his face. He digs his indoor soccer shoes in as his hands begins to glow as they move to intercept the foot with the reflexes that goalies are known for. The hands close around the foot and suddenly the fiery chi is redirected back into Mimiru's foot. After a few moments Roberto releases her foot and takes a step back before letting himself shift back into the waiting goalie stance smiling the whole while.
That has to be the first time someone actually pulls that trick off on her. It's not really pleasant, and it's mostly felt the most when Mimiru falls back. Her leg hurt enough for her not to be able to support herself and end up falling. After the initial shock, her foot just wasn't quite ready to support herself. Still, it's only temporary, thankfully.
That was enough to break Mimiru's moment though. Enough pain that she'll have to take a second to regain her bearring and focus before she'll be able to re-summon chi. Few seconds she'll have to fill with other things!
She grunts a bit under her breath and rises up, opting to use her fist since her right leg's a little out of it. And she opts for a nasty punch toward Roberto's midsection. He won't be able to stop them all like he just did, won't he?

Roberto moves in towards the attack but then at the last moment his eyes open wide in shock as if he miscalculated something and ends up taking the punch in the bread basket. A loud gasp comes out of his mouth as the fist makes impact. It hurts but it's not the most painful he's felt. Those honors go to Kain.
While his plan may not have worked out, he still has to keep going. With that in mind he steps back as he throws a kick towards her midsection.

It's just a little girl. She has a long way to do before her punches pack as much as the more experimented fighters. Her stature doesn't help her much either to be physically imposing. With Roberto taking a step back, Mimiru quickly moves her arm down to block the incoming kick to her midsection. She winces, but still, she protected her vital parts!
Mimiru quickly attempts to retaliate by wrapping her arm around Roberto's leg, with a bit of luck she'll be able to keep him in a little awkward position, just long enough for her to attempt to give him a shove and make him fall backward.

Roberto has little time to react to the hold she has on his leg and when he's shoved backwards he reaches backwards to cushion his fall and prevent his fall from being a lot less than what it could have been.
He spins around using one hand as a support and then takes a diving leap at Mimiru with a pair of fists held together as if he's punching away an oncoming soccer ball. If his attack remains uninterrupted he will land on the ground with a low grunt.

It remains uninterrupted! Mimiru just quickly ducks aside not to get smacked by both fists. She chuckles a bit and she says, "Huh, well, that wasn't too bad!" Mimiru says with a nod, "That first move... Yeah, like... Ouch, nasty..." She admits, sticking her tongue out, "Guess I'll have to be more careful! But don't worry, I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeves," Mimiru admits with a wide grin.
And after that, Mimiru attempts to retaliate by getting close enough to Roberto and give him a nasty kneeshot to his side.. And maybe a second one too if she's lucky and she can hold on to him!

Roberto steps backwards to move out the way of the knee and he's just a little too late to avoid both kicks. But a good thing comes out of it. The knee shots push him closer to one of the soccer balls and by now, Roberto's following know that's not a good thing for his opponent and so he spins around and gives a soccer ball a nice kick towards Mimiru's midsection.

Well that doesn't feel good from up close like this! Even if she'd like to counter with her own balls, Basketball's not really a game where you put power into your shots. It wouldn't really help her out, especially against someone who could catch the ball with relatively ease, or just kick it back at her.
That last shot leaves Mimiru staggering some and she groans as she holds on her midsection with one arm. She merely regains her bearing for the time being, and tries to focus herself.

He runs to the next soccer ball and then watches her for her next move. When he sees that Mimiru's not going to attack he moves towards her to press his advantage while dribbling it towards her. A moment right before he gets close to her, he hops on top of the soccer ball shifting himself between her and the soccer ball with a quick shoulder clip to disorient her. If his progress goes uninterrupted, he will spin away with the soccer ball still at his feet.

The shoulder clip's enough to disorient her. In fact, Mimiru grunts a bit as she staggers from the little shove, even though she managed to brace for it well enough not to get hurt too badly. Still. Now's her chance to counter and she's not going to waste it!
Mimiru rushes toward Roberto, chi flaring out of her fists as she attempts to smack him with a rising uppercut, performing a complete spin on herself as she does so, and just as she lands, she presses it on with a second on, repeating the same process... And when she lands, she goes for a third one, with the exception that this time, a burst of chi right under her feet allows her to spring upward and give herself more power for that last uppercut. And with a bit of luck, she'll be able to drag Roberto along up in the air in her trail of chi from that uppercut.

Roberto digs in as the attack comes in. Whether or not he was attempting block or just not moving out of the way is open to debate. Whatever he was trying to do, it was a mistake. His chin snaps upward on the first and second uppercuts and then he rides into the air on the last one before being dumped on to the ground in an agonized heap.
He crawls to his feet and shakes it off. He looks at her for a moment before swinging his chi engulfed foot up high as he tries to knock her up into the air. It won't have the same punch but hopefully it will send her just as high into the air.

Mimiru has enough momemtum right now to be in charge and control of the match! Well at least enough so it's not overtly dificult for her to dodge the incoming attack. She takes a step backward, just enough to avoid the incoming kick that was meant to knock her high up, and Mimiru hardly gives Roberto much time to get his feet back on the ground that she clings to him.
She holds on to his shirt and she takes a step right by his side, before she tries to knock him off balance by sweeping him off his feet and then slams him down.

Everything goes according plan... Almost... Roberto's feet get knocked from under him and he's slammed hard. Of course there's one little hitch... The fact that he managed to grab ahold of one her hands. He pulls her down and then shifts his body so he can lift himself under her and throw her down in return.

It's too fast for Mimiru to get out of his grasp, but there's one thing she can do and that's soften the landing. She rolls with it, in other words. Still, Mimiru winces at the landing and she manages to get back on her feet relatively well.
It's time to try and make a comeback! The finishing line's drawing close, so she has to give it her best! Mimiru lunges at Roberto and she attempts to give him a nasty kick to his side.

Roberto is sent flying backwards as the kick hits him in the side. He slowly crawls to his feet as he gasps for air. His head is spinning as he looks around. When he's finally aware of his surroundings he realizes another one of his soccer balls are close by. He gathers himself and charges in slamming a chi covered foot into his soccer ball. The soccer ball in turn glows as it flies at high speed towards Mimiru exploding on impact with Mimiru's body with massive amounts of energy.

Thanks to some extraordinary moment of awareness, but Mimiru manages, as she rushes toward Roberto, to actually parry the soccer ball engulfed by chi. She's not looking back, she's just pretty glad her swift movements allowed her not to get smacked really hard!
She lunges at Roberto, her right fist glowing with chi as she leaps straight at him, "Super Mimiru Punch!" She shouts as she hopes to connect with her flaming punch right into Roberto's face.

Seeing that her hand about to connect with his face his goalie reflexes kick in once more to snatch the hand out of the air. His hand isn't glowing this time and so this time he feels a bit of pain as he does so but he then moves her hand aside as he goes for her waist in what looks to be a diving goalie save. If he takes her down, he will rise to his feet and push her away with his foot.

Roberto manages to get a hold of Mimiru's waist! Though he doesn't quite manage to trip her and push her away, alas! Mimiru turns the grapple into her favor and she actually presses her waist against Roberto's one, getting a hold of one of his arm as she quickly turns around and lifts him up on her back before she swings him up over her and slam him down to the ground.
Roberto gets up to his feet. His body bruised and shaky as he limps to yet another soccer ball. He takes a deep breath before breaking into a run before kicking another soccer ball at Mimiru. However because of fatigue it looks like a Charlie Brown moment because even though his foot makes contact he over compensates swinging himself in a clumsy looking flip. Hit or miss Roberto is not getting up.

Alas, Mimiru's not really good at catching balls like this... So all she does, instead of trying to move away, is simply knock it off with her arm as it comes in her direction. Mimiru groans and she winces, shaking her arm a bit after the ball hit her. That did hurt quite some!
And since Roberto is falling, it seems that Mimiru's the winner! Still. She smiles a bit and then goes to give Roberto a hand back up. It was good sport all and all after all! So they're both winners!
