Description: Mimiru and 'Candice Diamond' face off for a Neo League fight to the finish! (Winner: Mimiru)
It looks like it may not be a very simple evening for Mimiru, once she had recieved a notice of challenge via the Neoleague Fighting team. On one hand, it is a familiar name that's brought to the high-schooler, Candice Diamond, likely remembered to be the one that Mimiru had 'won' a plushie from.
On the other hand, it seems the time of challenge is five in the morning, about the same time old folks need to wake up to head to work. Needless to say, it's extremely dark outside, the moon hidden by thick clouds, that also hide most of the stars. The streets of Mimiru's home are completely deserted, save for the tele-crew setting up their cameras and lights and such.
And standing on the sidewalk of course is the challenger in question, the demi-punk staring blankly up at sky, arms limply held at her sides. She doesn't have any particular 'motive' this time, she simply wanted a chance to work on her fighting style a bit.
Mimiru might have decided to take an undefinied break from the Saturday Night Fights... But the girl hasn't totally retired from the fighting world! After all, she needs challenges to be able to test her training, see if she's gotten stronger! The best way to do it is with other fighters of her caliber... And in the best of worlds, she does it seriously. Not with the intention of winning, but of trying to use what she's learned in a fight.
It may be late but still... Mimiru didn't decline that fight! She recognizes the name, and she owed her a rematch, in a way, a chance to make up. It's late enough that no one's actually around to witness the fight aside from the tele-crew to make this official, but even them are a little off to let the fighters all the space they need.
Considering how her classes are starting in a while, Mimiru came dressed in her schoolgirl uniform. The sefuku and all. The plan is, hopefully, not get beaten up too bad and go to school after. Once Mimiru's in sight, she halts a good distance from Candy and she smiles, "A two out of three, eh?" Mimiru asks.
For a moment there's no response when Mimiru addresses the demi-punk. She just continues to stare at the sky as if there's something very important up there, what that may be remains to be seen. Eventually though, her gaze does return to Mimiru, smiling as if she had just awoken from a pleasent dream.
Which gradually fades as she speaks, "Mimiru Kasagi. 'Two out of three' you say..? I suppose that could be another way of putting the situation to light." she reaches into her shoulderbag, drawing out what appear to be two silver, long dumbells that extend into twin tonfa once she takes hold of the handles, "I understand you have school soon, while I intend to win, I will not rough you up too badly." mentioning that suddenly makes her think of Aislinn, in which she then asks, "How are your grades..?"

Mimiru arches a brow and she tilts her head to one side, "You don't have to go easy on me," Mimiru says with a snort, "I came here since you challenged me, what will happen will happen, I know what the consequences of losing are, so I'll make sure that it doesn't happen. You just have to take care of giving your maximum, and I'll take care of not being roughen up too badly," Mimiru explains.
On the side note on her grades, she winces a bit and sticks her tongue out, "They could be better..." She says. She shakes her head and then puts her schoolbag away for the time being and she bounces a bit, before she gets into her fighting stance. Mimiru's not making the first move it seems, allowing Candy the chance to take the initiative.

"Negative, I never mentioned anything about going easy on you," Candice corrects, giving her weapons a little twirl, and a click of her heels causes her boots to extend into rollerblades. Face a poker-expression once more, she gestures to Mimiru, "I figured as such. However I am not your parent and as such have little influence on your studies. I do recommend you take it more seriously, knowledge potentially can be as deadly a weapon as your fists."
She'll gladly take the first move, the demi-punk skating forward and attempts to slam her tonfa into Mimiru's gut. This is then followed by an uppercut motion with the opposite armed weapon.

Rollerblade. That's not really fair! If only she had knew, she would have brought her own rollerblade and fought Candy with them! Then again, it is starting to be cold outside for rollerblading... Mimiru frowns a bit at Candy's words and she takes a step back, as if to prepare herself to react to the incoming charge, "Huh, that really sounds like someone I know..." She says, sticking her tongue out. She should take her studies more seriously, but it's hard to give time there when she has to give time everywhere else!
Candy's rush doesn't manage to break Mimiru's guard though! She slams her forearm against the incoming tonfa, moving it aside just enough so it doesn't connect with her gut, and her other hand moves to catch Candy's other fist, not without a wince though, as her hand is what takes the blunt hit. Hopefully, Mimiru'll be able to hold on Candy just long enough to throw her off balance by simply taking a step just by her side and sweeping her off her legs. Rollerblades often means less stability, and with a bit of luck, she'll prove it right and get Candy on the ground! And with rollerblades... It's a bit harder to get back on your feet!

"Your parents, I would wager," Candy replies. If she would, she'd be amused by Mimiru's physical reaction, instead it's noted and dismissed, "I have noticed many fighters at and near your age have staggering grades, that is all." Mimiru managing to defend her attack isn't impressive, for Candy it's to be expected, and her expectations are met. The sweep Mimiru goes for lands quite cleanly, knocking Candy onto her back, her knees slightly raised upward.
Normally yes, it -is- more difficult to get back up, but she's in the perfect position to kip-up to her feet, pushing up off of her shoulders to get to her feet again and landing on her tip-toes in a crouch, "Very well," standing up, she attempts to hook her weapon into Mimiru's blouse, so that it'd be simple to not only lift her into the air, but also turn and slam her onto her back.

Leaning back, Mimiru gives Candy all the time she needs to recover from her fall. She's not going to try and smack her while she's down. She's standing ready, waiting for Candy to attack again and retaliate! It used to do her good, back in the days, her old techniques haven't changed after all. Once Candy gets on her knees and pushes up, Mimiru attempts to get a hold of Candy's arm and she prepares herself to put a reversal into this grapple.
Alas, Candy's a little stiffer than she expected and she ends up being the one lifted up. Mimiru squirms slightly in the air and she's then slammed into her back. She groans and wriggles a bit, turning around and forcing herself slowly back to her feet, "Huh... Yeah... Well, we spend our time where we can, according to our priorities..."
Candy admittedly didn't need a lot of time, getting to her feet took alarmingly little effort. Throw landed, and a bit suspicious of the retaliation, Candy spins around on her skates a few times after her throw, hands behind her back, "I did notice that, yes. It's puzzling how logic is avoided so often. My baby sister is no different."
She screeches to a halt for a moment and skates forward again, this time when she gets close, she swings to place both of her tonfa into Mimiru's shirt to toss her into the air. She then leaps up after the girl, tries to snatch her by one ankle and her collar, and drops back to the ground with a fairly ugly backbreaker over her shoulders!

Perhaps Mimiru would need a little bit more practice in jujitsu or maybe it's just a wee bit too early for her to pick up a fight, but she thought she would have been able to escape that hold with no problem whatsoever... Well, that's not exactly what happens. Mimiru's tossed up in the air with no dificulty and once she's up there, there's no stopping it, alas.
And Mimiru goes down right on the ground. At this rate she'll do a poor job not coming into school all bruised up! Mimiru groans a bit and winces, trying to sweep off some dust and little rocks from her uniform, "How's that illogical? We spend most time on what's most important to us, that's logical," Mimiru says as she tries to get back to her feet and lunge at Candy to strike her midsection with her knee.

"Possibly, I am afraid I cannot really grasp the situation from your point of view. But considering the longer term aspect, for example," Candy stands straight again, brushing off her shoulders with her fingertips, "Suppose the matter deals with friends. What good are you, then, if you are not smart enough to graduate with them..?"
The knee lands easily into Candy, but turning to the keeps her from skating away from her opponent. It does allow her to get into a position here she may be able to catch that leg, too. And if she manages to keep Mimiru from slipping away, she leaps upward into the air, twirls about twice mid-air, then all but flings Mimiru back to the ground. However it's not toward the concrete, but instead right into the neighbors yard, where the grass clearly needs to be cut.

Man is she playing it recklessly... That's pretty unsettling in a way, since Candy's doing little to nothing to actually defend herself against her attack, she simply keeps putting herself in the best way to counter Mimiru's attack and right after Mimiru lands a blow, she can't even, or rather, doesn't even have the time to shift back into defensive to avoid getting hurt. Quite a daredevil tactic, but it's giving Candy good results so far! Mimiru might have to change tactics... Alas.. If only Himeko were here maybe she could tell her what to do, but now she's on her own and she'll have to think fast.
And Candy easily gets a hold of Mimiru's leg, and up she goes, making a few twists in the air before she's hurled off into one of the neightbor's yard. The high grass does little to absorb the impact of the fall, strangely enough. It seems to have hurt just all the same. Mimiru groans a bit and she forces herself back to her feet. "There's more than just grades in life. Japenses and mathematics aren't necessarily something you'll need in your life. Other things matter, you know," After explaining that, Mimiru jumps out of that person's yard and she staggers a bit, as if she hadn't totally recovered from that last landing. Still she manages to steady herself rapidly enough, thankfully. And then Mimiru rushes toward Candy and she attempts to give her a powerful punch in the face.

While it may seem reckless to the watcher, it all makes perfect sense to Candy. There are reasons why she's thus far been practically letting Mimiru land every blow she's thrown at the demi-punk. The first being, she's at the advantage, it'd be difficult to lose so long as she keeps landing her attacks. And the second is.. Well, a secret. The ends justify the means, which is what her fighting style is about.
"My life is mathematics, physics, etcetera." Candy replies as she lands on her feet, skating backward toward Mimiru and looking over her shoulder, "But you and I are very different. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree. But I am curious,"
Again Mimru's punch hits true, it slams right across her cheek, causing her to lurch to the side. On the other hand, that only makes her spin faster around on her skates, so the backhand-like strike that is suddenly homing toward Mimiru's head comes even faster, "What else is there..?"

That's quite the sluggfest, though Candy has much more grace and elegance in the sluggfest that Mimiru has. She 'rolls with it' quite literally and dances with Mimiru's strike, whereas, Mimiru, on the other hand, is lagging behind a little, every hit making her stagger and requiring a little time of recovery, not really expecting on planning on getting smacked.
"There are a lot more than just science and things like that in life. What about history? Sociology and stuff like that? Human relationships, that's the most important of all!" Though, at five in the morning, it's hardly the time to have a discussion like that. That last backhand with Candy's weapon was enough to draw a bit of blood, and probably leave Mimiru with a black-eye or something of the like. So much for not getting too much beaten on.
Mimiru attempts to get a hold of Candy and, if she's successful, she'll plant her foot into Candy's midsection and roll down to the ground and hurl her off some distance by throwing her over her.

Candy's red eyes blink, not a normal one but in reaction to Mimiru's words. Human relationships.
It's almost embarassing really, that Candy hadn't put serious thought into that particular subject since that was her primary mission after all. But they do say that sometimes ones objectives are often overlooked. ... Or maybe she made that up.
Grace was always part of Candy's style, she isn't flashy, she lacks combat charm most fighters have, so she... Looks pretty. Nothing quite as refined as the samurai girl, though. Mimiru gets the grab, and there's quite some effort into flinging her, but it's done. Candy takes the air for a moment, and has enough presence to twirl again in the air and land hard on the ground, a slight crouch as she skates backward, still facing her opponent. But wait a moment, ".. Ah, friendship.. Is part of human relations, correct..?" she asks. She has to make sure she's studyin the right thing, after all.
A halt, and Candy skates forward again, and this time just goes all out. She waits until she's close, swinging her weapon to again snag, Mimiru, leaps up into the air, and then would slam the schoolgirl right onto the hood of some shmoes car. She's then lifted again, and slammed down once more, forcing the tires to burst from the stress. Assuming she gets the hold in the first place.

This time, Mimiru's not giving Candy a chance to get her! The other fighter didn't use the same tactic, and it left just enough time for Mimiru to prepare against the next attack. Once Mimiru's back on her feet, she lets Candy approach her but she doesn't let her get a hold of her. Quite a little slippery one, it seems, or rather, it's the first time she is. She didn't try to win the grapple against Candy, since her previous attempts were rather unsucessful, but instead just moved out of the way and slipped out.
"That's right," Mimiru says with a nod of her head, "That's one part of human relationship, but there's more than just friendship to the mix, really!" Mimiru says. Now's the time for a change of tactic -- and now's better than never to use those tricks she's learning to counter Candy. Chi flares out of her right leg and Mimiru lunges at Candy, attempting to slam that flaming foot into Candy's chest. She tries to focus herself to use that chi to blast Candy farther away when her foot'll connect, if it does connect, and maybe, if Candy's not fast enough and not lucky enough, she'll just end up get partially hit by the wave of chi coming out at the end of her kick.

"I see.." Candy replies, it seems, "It would appear I have plenty to learn still myself.." she'll simply have to study a little harder, as well as interact a little more with her own.
There's not much room for error in Candy's style, particularly not in the coming situation where the flaming foot is flying toward her. Candy raises her tonfa against the chi-laced attack and it just isn't quite enough somehow, tearing through her defense, slamming into her chest and there's again no 'snap back' maneuver to follow.
Still, it doesn't take her long to regroup, Candy again is up in Mimiru's personal space, attempting to set a foot on Mimi's tummy. Should she get that far, what follows is a backflip kick, the toe of her skates targeting Mimiru's chin.

This all seems pretty obvious to Mimiru... The nature of human relationship. Then again, Candy's just weird that way, there's no question about it. Mimiru's pretty glad her attack connected, but that doesn't seem like it weakened Candy in the least, since she comes back at her right afterward and the force she puts into her kick is enough to show Mimiru that she'll have to try a little harder.
The girl's eyes widne as Candy's foot lands right into her tummy and Mimiru flinches, gasping for air. She chokes and remains vulnerable long enough for Candy to follow up easily enough with the backflip kick right under her chin, causing Mimiru to flip backward in the air and then fall right into her back on the ground.
Ouf, now that was a painful fall. Mimiru squirms and she growls, slowly but surely staggering about to get back on her feet. That's one great way to actually break someone's momemtum... Despite the fact she's running on her last breath, Mimiru manages to bring herself back to her senses fast enough to retaliate, gathering up chi between her hands and then hurling the ball of energy toward Candy.

Candy is good at bluffing. There isn't a lot she can do about physical damage, but she can hide minor damage simply with her poker expression. Mimiru's shift in tactics may have just been a moment too late, or maybe just mistimed, since Candy is able to react to the blaze of chi headed her way in time.
Candice raises her hand, with her weapon hanging off her hand, only three fingers are extended toward the energy. The ball seems to bounce right off the tips and back toward her opponent, "Close."

Mimiru's not exactly that good herself, unfortunately, and it's not hard to see that she's having a hard time keeping up. Unfortunately, that blast of energy she sent at Candy's coming right back at her, "Ah! You won't own me with my own move!" Mimiru says. The girl dashes toward Candy, as if the projectile wasn't even coming right back at her all the faster and she leaps in the air, just at the right time so that she's diving above the ball.
The girl gracefully lands, rolling on the ground headfirst, which leads her right in front of Candy and there, knelt in front of her, she leaps backward to perform a somersault, chi flaring out of her legs as she attempts to smash Candy under her chin with her feet as she flips on herself, hands helping her to stabilize herself on the ground and flip over back to her feet.

Candy mentioned before that numbers are very important to her style; it still holds true in this case, Candy doesn't seem bothered that Mimiru managed to avoid her own attack. She won't, however, avoid the demi-punks next attack, "Very good, but it is time I put an end to this match, interesting as it was," She holds out her equipped hands as Mimiru unleashes yet another blast of her dangerous energy, the kick lands nicely, in fact the force knocks her upward and the two are backflipping at the same time, and both land on their feet.
Her vision blurrs a bit, and while she lands on her tip-toes again, her knees shake a little. And then she all but dives forward, and seemingly right past Mimiru, and screeches to a halt. Not even the cameras could catch how quickly the butt of her tonfa slammed into the smaller girls gut along the way!

Mimiru's attack didn't allow her to see exactly how Candy actually reacted to the attack, but what Mimiru knows, once she finishes her flip, is that her opponent's already lunging at her. Her eyes widen a bit and her reflexes save her this time as she moves her arms just in time to protect her gut from the tonfa. She takes a step back to maintain her balance though and grunts a bit in pain.
"Oh, it's not over yet, not just yet!" Mimiru claims, chi flaring out of her right fist. She then tries to retaliate by punching Candy back in her midsection, and being able to control and manipulate chi more easily through her hand, the attack's more centred on the burst of chi coming out of her hand rather than the punch itself.

It seems Candy was a little /too/ sure of herself, she glances over her shoulder toward her opponent, pauses, and then speaks again, ".. I see. Did I make a miscalculation?" this asked more towards herself than to Mimiru, and she raises her arm, making her tonfa twirl. It was the deciding blow at this point, she wasn't going to lose if this worked.
And Mimiru surpasses logic a second time, the white flame proving too much for her attempt to manipulate the chi to her own favor; it slips past the weapon, into her midsection and just like that, Candy drops her weapons, her arms fall to her sides, then she falls to her knees, "... I concede.. You are the victor again, Mimiru." she says, holding her side afterward.
"Yeah, you did make miscaculation..." Mimiru says, panting loudly, taking a step back and wrapping one arm around her midsection. She looks down at Candy and smiles at her, "Nah... We're the victors, really, you gave your best, that's all that matters..." Mimiru says with a nod, "Nice match, you almost got me there.. Had you hang in there just a bit, you might have gotten me there," Mimiru says, walking past Candy and giving her a pat on her shoulder.
"Next time, perhaps..." She says with a smile, giving a thumbs up at Candy, before she makes her way toward her schoolbag, "Well, I should get going... Need to try and patch up a bit before school starts..." She says.
Candy needs some time to regroup herself, but she's able to move again at least after a moment. Candice nods her head to her opponent, ".. That is such an odd thing to say." The line of success and failure is much more harsh in Candy's mind. However, her definition of failure is also simply not being successful. There's probably a deeper meaning behind it, but she just doesn't understand. Her expression blank, she looks to Mimiru's gesture, and slowly returns it with a thumbs up of her own, "Yes, next time.." she replies, gathering her weapons and retracts them to their portable size. She has some time still to fix herself up as well, then she'll go bother Aislinn, to make sure she's up for school.
