Mimiru - A test of Friendship

Description: The decision she has to make is a rough one! After meeting with Kain, she'll get what she wants under one condition... But is it the right thing to do? Thankfully, Himeko, her friend, is always there to support her.

[OOC] Mimiru Kasagi will set!

[OOC] Himeko nods!

For various reasons, Mimiru's home has always been the base of operation to a lot of things. For one, her family seems non-existant. Her mother, due to the heavy workload she has, hardly has any time to spare home, and when she does return home, she's exhausted enough that she just goes straight to bed. Such is the life of an officer in the police of Southtown. As for her brother, he's hardly around. What with being the 'stray' and all that, he has better things to do. So the girls always have the house all for themselves, literatively speaking. Which is nice!

After the various school clubs are through and school is finally over, Mimiru came back home. Not alone, though, Himeko's often around to help her out with her homeworks! Well more like they're doing homeworks together, but Himeko might already be done with all of them. Homeworks require focus, and to do that, it's best they do it where the distractions are limited. Hence, the kitchen.

Even so, Mimiru doesn't seem to be all there. One elbow on the table, hand resting under her chin, Mimiru's staring out of the window, chewing up on her pencil idly, legs swinging back and forth. Something's on her mind and she hasn't really been all 'there' the past few days. Even now, her work doesn't seem to be getting anywhere, in fact, aside from a few attempts at scribbles of kanjis... She hasn't really done much of anything on her papers.

As Mimiru's best friend, it's only natural that Himeko suspect that something serious, or at least deep is on Mimiru's mind. When she has some sort of wild idea, Mimi usually haas a smile on her face when she's looking distant. This hasn't been the case ever since her friend had lost her match at Saturday Night Fight.
But she had no idea what to say, lacking words of comfort this time around but maybe.. Just maybe this time just talking it out will make her friend feel better, "... Mimi-chan?" the bookworm asks meekly, glancing to the unfinished homework, the girl herself placing a bookmark in her required reading, ".. You.. Haven't been yourself lately.." she notes with a weak smile.

It might feel a bit awkward for Mimiru since she's always so cheerful and energitic. Though somehow she seems more tame and tranquil. Due to her nature, Mimiru's always been the one taking care of making sure the smiles are on everyone's face but right now... Himeko's question barely seems to register to Mimiru, in fact, it's only after she continues her speech that Mimiru notices it. She shakes her head, turning her eyes over to Himeko, "Huh?" She asks, trying to snap out of it.
Looks like Himeko isn't the only one who's noticed that -- Max's also whining a little by her side. Though maybe for different reason, since he has his leash in his jaws and is idly scratching Mimiru's hip, probably hoping for a walk. One hand idly goes down to pet the dog and hopefully make him stop whining. "I'm sorry Himeko..." She says, lowering her gaze, "My mind hasn't really been all there, guess I've got a lot on my mind." She lifts her gaze back at Himeko and her lips curl into a faint smile, "Doesn't help for my homeworks, but I promise I'll make up for it.."

Himeko gives a glance to Mimiru, then to Max, and then back to her friend. Of course she's noticed the lack of homework being done, but now really isn't any time for her usual scolding. Really at this point, she would help Mimiru step-by-step when the time called for it, but for now, "It's all right, Mimi-chan.. You know, I think Max might have the right idea, let's go outside for a little fresh air, ok?"
As if taking the pre-emptive for once, she slides out of her chair, and folds her hands in front of her, "We can finish out homework later. In.. In the meantime, um.." her gaze shifts suddenly, a bit nervously, "W= would you .. like to talk about it?"

While Max doesn't really need the leash for a walk outside, it was his way to give the message to Mimiru that he wanted to go out. Not that he usually needed to do it. "Yeah, let's do that, it'll change my mind," Mimiru admits, letting a smile regains her lips at least. She takes the leash from the dog's jaws and she whistles to Max's girlfriend. She's still around and Mimiru has two dogs to take care of now! So she might as well come for the walk as well. Mimiru rises from her seat and she stretches a bit, letting a loud yawn escape her throat.
"Heheh, come on Himeko, calm down a bit," Mimiru says as she slides by her side and taps her shoulder. She pokes her nose and chuckles, leading her toward the door, both dogs quite eager to actually go out. In fact, when Mimiru opens the door they're both rushing out headfirst, going out to sniff at stuff, tail wagging about as they wander about.
As for Himeko's proposal, Mimiru just shrugs and she says, resting her hands in her pockets, "Oh I don't know... I've just been thinking about lots of stuff..."

Himeko raises her hands to poke her pointer fingers togeather, then nods shyly. She didn't mean to work herself up of course, but at least when she's told to calm she gets a little less fidgety. Her eyes cross from the nose-beeping though, and she follows along with Mimiru, with her small book in tow, "Well I did notice that," she replies gently, book opened to hide the lower part of her face, "But this time you haven't told me anything that you were thinking about.. It must be something really big.."

"Well, yeah..." Mimiru says, lifting a finger up to idly scratch her cheek. Still a little evasive about the whole subject, Mimiru turns her gaze away, deciding to focus on the dogs that are ahead of them but still waiting for them. They're intelligent enough not to get too far off. Mimiru heaves a sigh and she shrugs, "Just been thinking about fighting and stuff. What I've learned and all. Been thinking it's nice to have lofty ideals and all, but it's not really good if you can't really have the power to achieve them, you know?"
Mimiru shrugs and she tries to keep her smile on her lips, "Anyway... Haven't been hunting Orochis in a long while either. I remember when I started it out, I was planning on finding the Moon Tiara to get all powerful and stuff, heheheh.."

Himeko strolls right along, glancing upward thoughtfully, ".. Yes, it's been quite a while since the Orochi hunt. I've actually been trying to gather new information because lately a lot of new faces have been coming into town; it makes me wonder if my current picks are inaccurate after all." she then glances to Mimiru, ".. But you know, the Moon Tiara isn't a physical item, it's a spiritual one. So.." her gaze averts once more as well, it's kind of odd that she can't keep eye contact with Mimiru, "Have you been considering a different path, Mimi-chan? Different ideals?"

Mimiru hums softly and she tilts her head to one side. Her gaze isn't quite on Himeko since they're both walking side to side on the sidewalk. She's just watching the dogs in front of them, "Yeah, you're right, still not an easy one to get, but I think I've grown from what I've done, but..." Mimiru lifts her hand up and scratches the back of her head, "I thought for a long while I was doing cool stuff with Chizuru, but I think she's been avoiding teaching me anything and now she's more or less disappeared. Guess she's just been making fun of me. But ideals aren't really enough, it leads nowhere..."
Mimiru shrugs and she shakes her head, "No... I've gained that, I don't want to change it but I just want to be able to follow them. What good is it fighting if all you do is losing? Even if you keep doing your best..."

Himeko looks curiously to Mimiru once again, ".. Chizuru? Have I met her?" she asks, the name not exactly feeling familiar, "Just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they would make a good teacher, Mimi-chan. I don't know as much about fighting as you do, but.." her eyes upturn a little, "It seems you've learned from it, you can always find another teacher after all. But I don't understand the last thing you said,"
Himeko lowers her book from her face now, "You already know that doing your best doesn't guarantee victory, you can tell that from your math and japanese can't you? But I'm helping you because I know you have the potential -to- be good at it, very good, and I've taken the responsibility to point you in the right direction." Himeko leans in, to try to link one of her arms about Mimiru's, "And the same is with fighting, I think. Maybe I'm just not experienced enough to help you get to the next level, but someone out there can. You just need to find someone else to help you get in the right direction and help find what you're missing, Mimi-chan, that's all."

"Nah, not really, it's not really important," Mimiru says with a soft chuckle, one hand going up to scratch the side of her head, "Guess I was naive and trusted her, but I put my trust where I shouldn't have," Mimiru says with a nod. Her eyes then wanders over to Himeko and her lips curl into a smile, "Yeah... I guess, still, I used to believe that.." When Himeko leans in and wraps her arm around hers, Mimiru blushes faintly and she lifts her free hand up to scratch her cheek, averting her gaze for a moment, "Ah, yeah..." Mimiru nods and she says, "No... I think you're right. You're very important to me in all of this Himeko, you're not only my best friend, but you support me through all of this and... I just... I appreciate it, that makes me happy."
Lips curling into a smile, though her intonation is a very serious one, Mimiru asks her, "We'll always be best friends, right, no matter what happens?" She asks her. Mimiru lifts her free hand up, wiggling her pinky a bit, "Pinky promise?"

Himeko smiles brighter herself, "Well don't misunderstand, Mimiru, doing your best is always important, but that alone won't open the gate of limitation around you. And I am determined to open that gate that let's you remember to carry your ones and do your work backwards," her own playful way of teasing there. but it's still the truth! But what Himeko's most happy about is that Mimiru's words are showing signs of a little bit of growing up, or maturity, she isn't exactly sure. But her book then closed carefully enough to extend her pinky, Himeko nods in agreement, "I'm glad, Mimi-chan, and it's a pinky promise,"
Her finger raises to link with Mimiru's, and she adds, "I'll always do my very best to support you, Mimi-chan."

With a renewed smile, Mimiru heaves a sigh of relief, as if she had just gotten a huge burden off her shoulders, "Thanks Himeko..." She whispers, "I... This really means a lot to me, you really can't know," Mimiru says. Especially after they've made that little pinky promise! She nods to Himeko and adds, "No pain, no gain, right? Gonna have to do some sacrifices and give it more efforts if I want to improve," Mimiru says with a nod as she pats Himeko's shoulder.
"Anyway..." She adds, bitting her lips, "I think I'll be able to focus a little more on my homeworks now..." Still, it doesn't change the fact she still has a lot on her mind, but just knowing this little bit and this promise helps her make her feel a bit better.

Himeko nods her head again after the little shake, and slips her arm back from Mimiru's, "All right, are you sure? I think I'm in the mood for ice cream," her book opens again, the bookworm glancing upward, "Is there any left in the freezer? A little snack, and then homework I think should be fine." it would appear they've almost completely circled the block already too, that's a bit suprising to her, "So then, if you think of what you're going to do, will you let me know?" she then asks curiously.

With a nod of her head, Mimiru smiles to Himeko and she says, "Yeah, I'll let you know what I decide," She says. While partially true, Mimiru figures she'll just tell Himeko what she needs to know. She's well aware that she'll probably be doing things she won't be too proud of, and she'd rather her friend not know, "Ahah, yeah! Ice cream is the ambrosia of girls!" Mimiru says, raising her hand up. She giggles and pats Himeko in the back, whistling to call back the dogs once they're actually in front of the house, "Time to go in, I think I'll let those two out for now.."

"Agreed," Himeko replies, going in .. To get ice cream is a good idea! And well, it doesn't seem Himeko's caught on in the least that things may be becoming difficult for the two friends; but even the closest of friendships have bumps along the way don't they? But she doesn't really have much more to say about that anyway, except note her favorite flavor, "I'd like cherry," she notes, taking Mimiru's arm once more. Looks like it will be a pretty normal evening from this point, her housekeeper won't be by to pick her up for a while longer!

[OOC] Mimiru Kasagi says, "Seems like a good place to stop! :D"

[OOC] Himeko nods in agreement. ^^
