Description: In a peaceful clearing, Ramon tastes first-hand the power of the Kyokugen master. But it isn't as one-sided as all that... (Winner: Takuma)
There were some old words of wisdom that Ramon's grandfather would often impart to him every so often, or similarly, demonstrations of such actions in hopes of them catching on. One such tidbit was on the matter of timing. 'When set to be held to an agreement of mutual meeting, always forgo oncoming distractions and avoid unseen obstacles by leaving for these congregations early. And if that fails, grab a drink on the way and show up with a bang!' This would always be followed by a creaky old laugh and then a slap on the back to send Ramon off to wherever he was supposed to be half an hour ago.
For once, much to the league's astonishment, Ramon showed up early today... Two hours early. Sleeping on his back, one leg crossed over the other and hands behind his back, the Mexican wrestler sleeps serenely and snores loudly. The clearing itself seems to follow suit, with a calm sky and strengthened winds breezing through the grass in harmony with the man's snoring.
The clearing is indeed a great place to take a nap; Takuma's done so several times, and will do so again. However... naps are for when fights -aren't- taking place. While Ramon naps, Takuma is arriving... not in an El Camino, as one might think, but on foot, his bare feet walking over rocks, grass, broken glass, and small woodland animals with no difficulty whatsoever. His arrival is quiet, solemn...
Ok, who're we kidding? Takuma gets to the edge of the clearing, then takes a great big leap, landing in the middle of the clearing amidst a cloud of dust. It's a great entrance for a great man.
"HA HA! WHERE IS MY CHALLENGER?!?" bellows the older man, standing up and crossing his arms, looking stern even with the grin on his lips. He knows little about his opponent... but fighting a luchadore... it sounds fun.
"If I win, kiddo, you gotta get me some lucha masks!!'
As the dust wafts slowly to Ramon's position, it starts to settle in his throat, causing the luchador to rise with a significant amount of coughing, flailing and shouting, "¡Las pelotas santas, nosotros somos bombardeados!" Stumbling to his feet and trying to find shelter, or a cat, to hide under, Ramon slowly realizes the situation when the bold proclamation is shouted out.
"Sure thing, friend, but first you've gotta tell me what /I/ get for wi-whazzat?!" Ramon realizes that he, a 27 year-old fully grown man, was called a kid. With the dust clearing, Ramon stomps up to Takuma, expecting to have to look up 2 straight feet to match eyes with this bear of a man. Much to his surprise, they're almost the same height.
His mild rage gone, the luchador blinks and casually slackens, looking his challenger up and down. Standing a full 3 inches below Takuma, he still says, "Yikes. You're short, amigo."
Hey! The kid's got guts! Insulting Takuma's height and all. And that earns the luchadore a big grin. Takuma likes guts.
"Kiddo, it isn't about the height, it's how you use it! Oh, if you win? That's easy, you get a year of free lessons at the Kyokugenryuu Karate dojo!! But first you gotta -win-! And I don't make it easy!" That said, Takuma separates from the luchadore by about five feet, and... instead of assuming his stance, merely beckons at the youngish Mexican dude.
"If ya think ya can, kiddo... -bring it-!"

Ramon grins broadly, sliding his thumb down the edge of his eyepatch. Sure he has a youthful bounce to his step, and he's /short/, but Ramon's also got a giant scar over one eye and he's pretty damn well-built. Time to prove his seniority. "Alright, compañero, sounds like a fair deal. Up for grabs, a year at the, ummm... However-you-pronounce-it dojo, and three prized luchador masks! Don't expect me to go easy on you though!" The challenger seems to be around 200 pounds, mostly muscle, maybe his late 30's, early 40's, and has his own dojo. The luchador's already dreading what's going to be happening to his tiny Mexican body.
But it's time to prove he's no pushover! There's no impression like the first one, after all. Breaking into a dash for the obviously larger man, Ramon tries to see where his balance lies. Hoping it's on Takuma's left, Ramon quirks to the right and turns around as he meets his foe. The luchador jabs his leg inbetween Takuma's and then in front of them, trying to reach up and pull the bear of a man down with him by the throat.

Takuma patiently waits as the luchadore revs up; there's nothing he likes better than an enthusiastic fighter. Enthusiasm makes the game so much more fun, more lively. And it makes for a better show. And the show is what it's about... right now.
So Ramon gets his grip, and pulls... but Takuma breaks the grip immediately, tightening his throat muscles and twisting his head as he falls... seeking now to fall onto Ramon, essentially, turning the tides against Ramon if he can. It's a test, more than anything, to see how Ramon handles adversity.
COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Ramon with Quick Throw.

There's something that Ramon was taught by his old wrestling tutor. Something about turning pain into profit in situations like this, where the payout is greater than the hurt received. Unfortunately, that fails Ramon, and he ends up being squished by a very sturdy and very dense bear of a man. Arms barely sticking out, they flail at Takuma in futility, a muffled, "Ghrrrk! Get offa me, Asno Gordo!" emerging, before Ramon tries to think about the situation.
Reaching over to Takuma's right shoulder with his left arm, Ramon summons his mighty strength to try pulling hard and fast enough to turn Takuma off of him and face-first into the ground. This'll either help wind him, or end up in irritating him. Either way, it can't get worse.
COMBATSYS: Takuma endures Ramon's Tiger Neck Chancery.

He's seen some of the lucha's moves, now... but he still doesn't know how hard the kid hits. So... he's gonna -not- roll with this one... well, sorta. Ramon's throw rolls Takuma over and slams him into the ground, and pure physics makes Takuma lose some breath over it... but it's not all that bad, really, and Takuma kind of grins a little as he hops up.
"Very good throw, senor!" he cries in a bad imitation of a Mexican accent, still in close with Ramon, and then he reaches out.. hopefully to pluck the 'kid' up... and bodily lift him up, over and down onto the ground, Takuma adding in, if all goes well, a followup--a sharp punch to the gut. It is a skill borrowed from Judo--the famous Oosotogari.

Ramon is hoisted right off the ground with little more than a surprised 'meep', before he's swung overhead and driven into the ground. But the luchador crosses an arm behind his back to help absorb some of the blow, before his other arm quickly reaches up to cover his chest as well. Though the punch is blocked, it still manages to push some of the air out of his lungs, and Ramon manages to grin sheepishly and say, "Ha! That felt like only /half/ a bulldozer, amigo! You'll have to try harder!" Well this certainly isn't going well so far.
Whipping his legs up and over himself, Ramon tries to grab onto Takuma's arm with both feet and pull himself up, continuing through to hopefully backwards-headbutt the dojo master. Still using leftover momentum, he'll then release Takuma's arm and roll over him, grabbing his other arm on the way down and pull him over his shoulder. A bit touch and go, but it's worked once before... On a training mannequin.

Ramon's defense of the Oosotogari certainly impresses the karate master--it is a hard-hitting move and it is best to avoid taking the damage. However, that impressive defense doesn't leave Takuma open; he gets a hand up, softening the reversed headbutt, then pulls his arm free from Ramon's grip... and if Ramon finds himself, well, open, then Takuma does too, attempting a quick, flicking front kick to Ramon's body... wherever he can reach it. Simple, but then, karate isn't about being flashy... it's about what works.
If it does work... or even if it doesn't... Takuma will comment, because he does that sometimes.
"You got some tricks, kid.. they're cute, how 'bout showing me somethin' real??"
COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Ramon with Light Kick.

Ramon 1/------=/=======|====---\-------\0 Takuma
Ramon turns around in mid-air at the most unfortunate moment, and is delivered a prompt boot straight to the chest. The luchador is sent flying backwards and falls haplessly against the ground, very much dazed and confused. He manages to stumble up, grinning wildly before cracking his knuckles. Something pops a little /too/ loud and he starts waving his hand, retreating his finger to his mouth. Sucking on the owie, Ramon gives a shrug as if to say, 'what? it hurts, gimme a break'.
When he pulls out his finger and wipes it on his pants, Ramon starts to run for Takuma again, shouting out, "Alright, amigo, then try /this/ on for size!" The luchador makes an impressive leap into the air, coming down feet first and spinning. "Teikuu Dropkick!"

Takuma raises an eyebrow, and... sets himself to counter that incoming dropkick. It should be easy! But maybe it's the spinning or whatnot, because instead the kick impacts into his chest, staggering him backwards. Hmm! Frowns! BIG FROWNS! That wasn't supposed to happen. He'll have to think about that some, while he recovers his balance.
The attack is met with no resistance, to Ramon's surprise. But at his point of view, he didn't exactly have the chance to see Takuma start his preparation of doom. So the luchador takes his victory where he can get it and quickly props himself back to his feet, at odds with himself as to whether or not he should stay close or back up. He decides to go with his natural fighting style and keeps close to Takuma. Deciding that waiting for an attack is a /bad/ idea, Ramon takes a small kick at Takuma's shins to upset his balance. Time to float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, and run like a Mexican if it doesn't work.

The kick is easily deflected, Takuma turning his shin into the impact and meeting it, offsetting the impact. But it was a good idea. Takuma grins a little, then reaches back with his rear leg, finding a rock he almost stepped on earlier... then with a quick flick of the foot and a barely-there hop, he's switched stance -and- flicked the rock up at Ramon's chin.
"Think fast, kid!" he cries, even as he doesn't really seem to do much but just hop in place...

Tip #1 about fighting. Bring the right shoes. Ramon remembers this the hard way as his dress shoes crumple inwards after the kick, bits of cardboard digging into the wrestler's foot. He quickly brings the offending appendage to the fore, removing his shoe and hopping lightly as he holds his foot up and checks to make sure his toes aren't bleeding.
"Huh?" Ramon looks up and gets promptly pelted right in the noggin by a big ol' rock, clumsily falling on his back. Rubbing the bloody spot on his forehead, El Diablo Amarillo Ramon quickly rises to his feet, not realizing that the rock nudged his eyepatch off his face, revealing the rest of the scar and a very white eye, too badly damaged to see anything clearly.
Ramon tosses off his other shoe, wiggling his toes in the grass. He flashes a grin and bolts for Takuma, keeping an eye out for any retaliation. He takes three rapid steps up Takuma's body and spins sharply, kicking at his face. But this was just a distraction, as Ramon begins to spin on the ground, eventually reaching up for Takuma's neck. The resulting clothesline /should/ throw Takuma directly into the ground, leaving a decently large impact on the dirt in the shape of the man's body.

Takuma is.. well... he's taken for a ride! And, at the end of it, thrown into the dirt. Oh yeah, he was kicked somewhere in there, too. And it all hits and it hurts a lot. But, while face down, he starts laughing... not really caring about the dust in his mouth. It's not hysterical laughter, except that well, he just got grounded.
"Th--that's a pretty good move kid! I admit it, you got some style!" And then he's getting back to his feet, dusting himself off.
"So, you got some strength in ya. I'm glad. You got the makings," he replies... and settles into a modified horse stance, energy suddenly welling up around his feet, as his body trembles with tension, more, invisible energy welling up -within- him...
COMBATSYS: Takuma gathers his will.

Ramon lands on his feet, grinning happily to himself. Until, of course, he realizes his eyepatch is missing. Taking the replacement out of his pocket, he quickly puts it back on, when the laughing interrupts his little routine. He's getting up? Awww damn. This isn't going to end well. "Gracias, amigo! But then again, without strength, speed, and most importantly, style, I wouldn't be the best wrestler in all of Mexico, would I?" He gives a mutual laugh, really enjoying the company.
And then he goes and starts charging up. Ramon's jest leaves his face, as all he can do is stand in realization of the pain that's about to come. "Oh /balls/." He moans to himself. Sucking it up, he prepares what he believes will be his last attack of the match. He makes a quick jolt for Takuma and grabs him by one of his shoulders and his neck, twisting sharply to bring him over the shoulder and into the ground. Hopefully it'll be enough to snap him out of the preparation.

Strangely enough, it's not like Takuma actually tries to defend against Ramon grabbing him, because the luchadore is successful with it; however, Takuma comes alive as he's going airborne and when he hits the ground it is into a tuck and roll which means almost none of that power that Ramon just demonstrated actually makes a difference. Takuma comes up out of the roll, rolls his shoulders a little, then takes a couple steps forward, closing the distance, aiming to rock Ramon's head with a swift right uppercut. Again... simple, but hopefully effective.

*Bing!* Ramon's sent toppling backwards and upwards, a bit of blood flying with him. He lands hard on the ground and slides a bit, dizzy from the blow. .oO(Pretty colors...) Slowly, but surely, the luchador rises from his spot on the ground, almost falling back down on his ass. "Aye yi yi, mi amigo. You're built like a freaking tank!" Says Ramon endearingly, still grinning happily. He's had fun here and he's learned alot. "Tell you what..." Ramon decides against standing and sits back down anyways, knees up and arms slung over them. "Howabout we do a straight over trade, masks for lessons? I've had a good fight and I can only hope I've given you the same. Plus, I don't really think I've got enough left in me to try and take on someone as experienced as you." He says with a wink, hoping that last little compliment will help out.
COMBATSYS: Ramon gains composure.

Takuma quirks an eyebrow and--just as he was about to move in to finish the fight, stops. It's not that he trusts the young luchadore to just stop fighting, but it's an interesting thing to do.
"Are you giving up?" he inquires, curiously, his arms crossed as he stands a mere five yards from Ramon, faint disapproval showing in his face. But then, perhaps Ramon is just being smart. After all... he's pretty down, compared to Takuma... who will be no doubt rubbing some liniment on later.
"I think you should take the fight to the end! There are lessons even in defeat, kiddo!"
COMBATSYS: Takuma takes no action.

Ramon gives a strange mixture of a laugh and a groan, pushing himself up to his feet and quickly regaining balance as one of his legs decides to stop working for a second. "Alright, alright. I suppose you're right. Carry it on through 'till the bitter end." He gives another short chuckle, internally trying to figure out how much a roll of bandages cost nowadays.
But still, he doesn't half-ass it. Ramon does his best to run for Takuma once again, trying one last move in hopes of not screwing it up. Of course, given his fatigue, there's still a chance... As he nears, the wrestler grabs up for Takuma's shoulders, flipping off the ground and over Takuma without letting go, hoping to twist and fling the man awkwardly over him at an angle.

Ramon 1/-------/=======|=======\=======\1 Takuma
This time, it is not to be; whether from Ramon's tired state or Takuma's pure skill, the grab just doesn't happen. Ramon's reaching hands are swept away with a forearm, Takuma's response coming in a fraction of a moment later, a reverse lunge punch planted solidly in Ramon's chest, to knock the luchadore... hopefully down, or away.
"Is that it, kiddo?" inquires Takuma, with a slight grin; it isn't meant to be condescending though it may seem that way. It's just that... with much experience comes a more certain knowledge of his opponents, in general, and Takuma knows that there can't be much more coming from the lucha. But he didn't do a bad job at all.
Ramon doesn't fall this time, taking the hit and sliding minimally. It hurt like a bitch, but he's not going to say that. Breathing heavily but not at all angry with his performance today, Ramon continues to grin and says, "Not yet amigo... Now let's try that one last time." Ramon runs for Takuma again, making all the same movements as he just did. But at the last second, before the grab, he drops down low, trying to grab one of Takuma's legs and pop up, pressing it sharply to the man's chest. He'll either be very flexible and therefore able to laugh it off, or he's going to be feeling it all throughout tomorrow. Either way, Ramon grabs the shoulder touching the leg, and uses the last of his strength to heave Takuma up and over his shoulder, sharply towards the ground.
When he releases Takuma, the luchador finds his body shaking slightly from the strain, and falls backwards onto the cool grass, ready to take a break.
COMBATSYS: Ramon can no longer fight.

Again... no. Takuma watches the tired, battered Ramon, and as Ramon drops low and lunges, Takuma simply leaps high and over Ramon, landing well beyond the Mexican wrestler. It's his win, as the announcer cries out, but Takuma has no attention for that, going and helping the wrestler back up.
"You got guts kid, and I like ya. Get a little work in and you're gonna have a style that's really gonna knock their socks off! You c'n use the dojo whenever you want, just don't abuse my students. Or I won't go easy on ya!"
The bustling bundle of energy Ramon is, he rises to his feet with the offer. Unlike most folks, he hears, he stays conscious after his fights. Then again, he's never liked to stay down. In return, Ramon gives a laugh and a warm smile, deciding not to use Takuma as a leaning post... For now.
"Gracias, friend. But don't you worry, I'm not an abusive kind of person." If Takuma knew anything about Ramon's exploits in Mexico, he would know that the luchador has donated the majority of his earnings throughout his life to charities and orphanages. Growing up in poverty usually keeps a man humble. "Oh, and don't call me kid." He finishes with a laugh.
It's good to see Ramon back up on his feet. Granted, Takuma was mostly pulling his punches, but he still hit pretty hard some of those times. Releasing Ramon's hand, Takuma just grins. He hasn't heard of Ramon before now, but he'll probably do some light research when he gets home. Thank god for the Internet.
"Kid," teases Takuma, "You won't earn any more from me until you win!" And so... he looks forward to someday calling Ramon by his first name.
"Until then," he states, claps Ramon on the shoulder, and heads off to take a shower and a nap and drink some sake... in some order.
Ramon nearly collapses from the hearty pat, instead opting to stay on his feet long enough to give a wave. Of course, now Ramon's going to have to look up Takuma, his dojo, and of course any spicy young ladies who enroll there, and try to seem like he's heard of the man's exploits the next time they meet. Thank god for the internet in/deed/. When Takuma's out of sight, he falls on his back once more, enjoying the still-serene sky. Mmmm... Back to where he started.
