Takuma - Kyokugen vs. Ansatsuken!

Description: Takuma, having heard of Ken Masters (who hasn't?) decides to take the young man for a test drive--in his own arena, no less!

Ken lost here a day or two ago. It didn't make him happy. No, not in the least. But, he figures that this room isn't curses, so he came in here again, not because he wanted to exactly, but the Red Arena was getting fixed up. Dressed in his normal gi, he stands in the middle of the white arena, waiting for his fight for the night to show up. He's looking a little bored with his arms folded and all, but that usually happens if Ken has to wait for more than a minute.

Well, Ken will just have to wait a few minutes more. Takuma Sakazaki hurries for no man. But he won't have to wait long... because here comes trouble. Trouble in the form of a middle-aged karate master named ... Takuma? Or is it... Mr. Karate? ... no, it's just Takuma. He saunters out, quietly confident, grinning. He's been waiting for this chance... too often have those not in the know compared Kyokugenryuu to Ansatsuken. This is Takuma's chance to prove its superiority.
Raising a hand, he hails the blonde ambition, and hails him with a healthy, "OSU!"
"Ken Masters. I've heard much about you. This promises to be fun."

COMBATSYS: Takuma has started a fight here.

Krizalid has arrived.

Ken gives a smirk as Takuma walks out, confident. He's been waiting for this chance. Too often those not in the know compared Ansatsuken to Kyokugenryuu. This is Ken's chance to show the world that Ansatsuken is superior.

As Ken slides into his fighting stance, he waits for Takuma to do the same before he runs right for Takuma. Two hands reach out, the American Karate Champion trying to grab the front of Takuma's shirt to pull him back into a roll before casting him away with the help of a foot, launching him like Ken was some human catapult. Hit or miss, Ken chuckles. "Oh, it will be fun alright," he says, clearly thinking that he is winning this fight. Or at least putting up a good front.

COMBATSYS: Ken successfully hits Takuma with Jigoku-guruma.

Is it just charity? Takuma is picked up, rolled, and flung, landing on the arena floor and rolling a little before getting up. A chuckle.
"Not bad, kid, not bad! Maybe this Ansatsuken stuff is for real!" he cries, obviously teasing... but perhaps wanting to incite Ken as well. Angry opponents are often fun ones. However, Takuma doesn't do any sort of rushing in yet; he pulls his right hand back, then thrusts it forward, palm out, leaning into it... firing off a dense, golden-orange ball of energy at Ken's chest.
"Let's see if you like this... KO'OU KEN!"

COMBATSYS: Ken blocks Takuma's Ko'ou Ken.

Ken gets slammed into by the powerful projectile thrown by Takuma. Skidding back about two feet, Ken winces his sore arm that was used to block the attack. He doesn't do anything right now, chuckling for the time being. "Nice move, old man... You got the power, but as you'll see, I got the speed," he replies, giving a wicked grin. Right now, it is too early in the fight to taunt Ken, and it's only when someone hits a button hard or when Ken is failing that gets frustrated and sloppy. Right now, he's just studying Takuma. He seems to have the power, best to avoid getting hit when possible.

COMBATSYS: Ken focuses on his next action.

Takuma           0/-------/----===|==-----\-------\0              Ken

That Ken takes the projectile and doesn't fall over is pretty impressive; Takuma laughs loudly and beckons, "Then, Masters-kun, show me that speed of yours! I'm very interested," he replies. Takuma's own course of action is tosettle his stance, doing his own study of Ken's stance, his form, his intent... Takuma is a crafty old man... but even so.. he's beckoning. Come, show him that Ansatsuken power.

COMBATSYS: Takuma focuses on his next action.

Ken thinks about this for a second. He could try a fireball, but it seems like Takuma is likely better with projectile than him. A powerful attack is likely asking for a counter, which would explain why he's studying Ken. Best to do what people usually don't do after they ready themselves. Something swift and painful. "Since you asked..." he replies with that cocky tone of his. Almost a blur, Ken lunges for Takuma, breaking the distance between them in less than a moment. His foot is soon raised for a straight high kick for Takuma's chest, the other foot, skidding a few inches on the ground to make this a moving kick, likely due to the speed involved with the techinque.

COMBATSYS: Takuma counters Ushiro Mawashi-geri from Ken with Mouko Burai Gan.

Takuma           0/-------/--=====|====---\-------\0              Ken

Takuma is willing to wait until Ken acts--for now. He can almost see the thought processes; he knows that the power behind that Ko'ou Ken has to have Ken thinking hard. And then... Ken's off the blocks and coming in. Swift? Definitely swift. Painful? Not for Takuma. Takuma just grins, wickedly, and deepens his stance a little bit, throwing up a forearm to parry that first kick, throwing it to the side; in a fraction of a section, the Kyokugen master's other arm is drilled straight into Ken's chest.

The pain surges into Ken's chest, Ken this time thrown off his feet. He rolls back just once though before he is on one foot and one knee. Trying to take advantage of that speed, he figures that Takuma can't counter like that forever. He knows he is fast. Takuma is not that fast. Therefore, he needs to keep up the speed. Leaping forward, he leaps into action, trying to plant his fist right into Takuma's face. The move looks familiar. That's because Ken is borrowing it. It lacks the chi going around the fist, but Ken gives does it just the same, changing the name to suit the altered move.

"Non-Burning Knuckle!"

COMBATSYS: Takuma blocks Ken's Medium Punch.

Counter everything? Only a fool counters everything. Sooner or later he'd be bound to fail. So this time, Takuma throws up his forearms, taking the impact from Ken right on the crossed arms; it rocks him back a step, but doesn't do much else than that.
And then Takuma is pivoting forward, snapping a high side kick out at Ken's chin, a classic karate kick, perfectly executed; it's something of a risky move, with Ken so close, but if if connects it should be good.

COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Ken with Medium Kick.

When Ken has good luck, he's unstoppable. When he has bad luck? It's just pain on a stick. Ken tries to roll out of the way of the kick, but instead it slams into his head. Ken gets back to his feet in short order though, just trying to give a swift sweep while he is crouched down anyway.

COMBATSYS: Ken successfully hits Takuma with Light Kick.

'Luck' is a nebulous thing; Takuma kick scores, but then Ken's does as well, sweeping Takuma off his feet. He throws his arms out to absorb some of the fall, then pushes off, and rolls backwards, grimacing; that did kind of hurt, after all. Takuma slams his front foot down and utters a long, low "HAAAAAAA~~" as he calls up energy, golden colored chi swirling up around his feet like the corona of the Sun. Where'd he get that 'haaaa~' from? From anime, of course, courtesy of Yuri.

COMBATSYS: Takuma gathers his will.

Takuma           1/---====/=======|=======\-------\0              Ken

Ken is not one for anime tatics, unlike Ryu. Likely this is because Ken's American. Or something. Either way, Ken knows that Takuma is planning something, so he just decides to take advantage of the opening he sees. Standing up, he moves for Takuma again, this time using his foot to try and clock Takuma with a 'he kicks high' blow, before bring the leg that is up to his chest back down so that his heel crashes onto his foe's shoulder. Two-in-one sorta kick that is nice and fast. Or at least Ken thinks so.

COMBATSYS: Takuma blocks Ken's Inazuma Kakato Wari.

Fortunately, Takuma's stance makes for a good blocking stance; the two kicks are absorbed by forearm and shoulder, their impact mostly dissipated. Takuma grins and nods a salute to the young blond. It was a good kick, even if Takuma didn't really take too much damage from it. And then.. he steps up, so to speak, stepping into Ken for a leading jab from the right hand, cover for a lunging elbow strike for Ken's chest with the left hand, which, should it connect, will follow into a backhand.

COMBATSYS: Ken dodges Takuma's Medium Punch.

Takuma           1/--=====/=======|=======\-------\1              Ken

Takuma is a lot faster than Ken remembered him as, but Ken is still as awesome as Ken remembered too. The elbow just brushes against Ken's gi as he twists to the side, the man so close Ken loses the smirk he had for the time being as if he was actually hit. With Takuma so close, Ken tries to take advantage of that by grabbing him by the shirt once more, but this time throwing him to the side, using a powerful roundhouse kick while Takuma is in the air to enforce the fact that Takuma should go with the flow and take a dive. At least that's the plan, since Takuma seems to be a bit faster than he planned on.

COMBATSYS: Takuma fails to interrupt Tsukami Nage from Ken with Zanretsu Ken.

Takuma tries to step into that grab, so that he can brush it off and attack Ken--but Ken is just a mite too fast at this point and he -gets- his throw and kick. Much to Takuma's displeasure, since he lands hard, before getting up, dusting himself off, his eyes shadowed a little.

As soon as the older man is up, the first thing he will likely see is a red blur. Ken is again upon Takuma, using that fantastic speed of his to just gives a swift punch to Takuma's right shoulder. Ken is clearly not underestimating Takuma. He knows that the other fighter likely has a trumph card that he is just WAITING to use and Ken wants to reduce the chance for an upset as much as he can.

COMBATSYS: Ken successfully hits Takuma with Jab Punch.

Things are suddenly not looking so good for Takuma; that punch crashes in and staggers him a little bit. But not a lot, not yet; Takuma just grins a little and snaps his hands out, seeking to grab Ken by the gi and use that grip to literally push him away and possibly down onto the arena floor... a rough trip, simple. Takuma isn't terribly happy with the way the fight's been going... but he's got no reason to complain, yet. Ken was expected to be this good.

COMBATSYS: Ken blocks Takuma's Quick Throw.

Ken is pushed back and while it is a somewhat painful move, Ken manages to breakfall enough that he only has pain in his shoulder where he hit the floor a little harder than planned. "...I see you've gotten better than I remember seeing in the past," Ken replies as he puts his hands together, channeling some chii between them before he launches it right for Takuma with a loud cry of "Hadouken!"

Takuma nods in acknowledgement of Ken's statement; while he won't say it yet, it's also true that Ken has shown him more skill than perhaps Takuma expected. The man isn't all speed. And now here comes the legendary Hadouken... Well. Takuma has only one response to that; to pull his right hand back, and throw it forward right almost into the Hadouken, the blue energy dissipated as Takuma's gold chi flares up, then coalesces into a ball of energy that flies at Ken.
"Ko'ou KEN!"

The Hadouken is quickly destroyed by Takuma's Ko'ou Ken, and the golden attack zooms right for Ken Masters. He just gives a smirk as he puts his hands to his side quickly, merely waiting for the right time to hit the attack and.... "HADOUKEN!" The blue fireball is send once more, though this time it is a bit faster than than the last one. With Ryu has his sparring partner, Ken knows how to deal with projectile wars.

Takuma raises an eyebrow... it's an interesting tactic, even if it does tend to tire fighters out. But Takuma just throws his arms up and absorbs what energy is left in that projectile, rather than continue to fight that war. Takuma finds himself in need of energy, feeling somewhat fatigued, and so he once again calls upon the energy of the earth to refresh him, the energy swirling up once more.

COMBATSYS: Takuma gathers his will.

Takuma           2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=======\==-----\1              Ken

It might be a tiring tatic, but Ken likes not getting hit and he finds that when it comes to getting tired... It's a lot harder for him. Of course, where he got that endurnace training is unknown. Some say it is likely because he trains AND he runs a business at the same time. Others say because he puts his best show on in his training and fights, so he is used to pushing his body harder for longer. The final group says it has something to do with him being married to a hot wife. Likely best not to talk to those people though.

Seeing that Takuma is clearly getting ready to push back with a renewed offensive, leaps into the air, trying to give Takuma a rather light kick to the head.

COMBATSYS: Takuma blocks Ken's Light Kick.

Kick...blocked. Takuma throws up one arm and brushes the kick aside, frowning at Ken, immediately thereafter kicking out at that extended leg, seeking to do some damage to the limb; perhaps he will lose this, but he wants to at least give Ken a good impression. Like the impression of a foot in that leg, kinda.

Ken blocks Takuma's kick as well, his forearm crashing into the attacking leg. It will leave a bruise, but beats a direct hit any day of the week. Clearly deciding not to take any chances, Ken takes his other arm and just tries to give a somewhat powerful blow to Takuma's chest. His smirk is still gone, Ken clearly focusing on the fight much more than he was before that powerful kick to the head he got earlier.

COMBATSYS: Takuma dodges Ken's Medium Punch.

Takuma drops underneath that punch, the old man showing some sprightliness despite his age--and the pain coursing through his body. Pain's familiar, though, so he doesn't stress about it. Takuma backsprings away, taking a moment to recompose himself, to let some of that pain fade, his expression speaking of the seriousness of his own situation.

COMBATSYS: Takuma gains composure.

As Takuma leaps away to get the second to get back some of his strength, Ken pursues once more, always one for in your face fighting. Skilled at hitting both high and low with great speed, Ken just gives a jumping roll toward Takuma, getting to one knee just long enough to try and kick out Takuma's legs from under him. Unlike the first sweep which was aimed at the ankle level, this one is a bit harder and aimed for the mid-shin level, which might make the fall a bit harder if it hits true.

It's true. Ken does knock Takuma off his feet. But he's not just retreating... he's -preparing-. And even as he's falling down, he's throwing his arms out. Ken has but a moment to sense the buildup of chi--and then a wall of it is blasting him away from the older man, who has time only to sit up and shake his head. That hit still hurt...

Okay, THAT wasn't something that Ken was really expecting at all. The power of the move slams him about twenty feet. Ken landing with a rather painful thud. It looks like Takuma's big gamble paid off. Ken gets up slowly, merely takes a few deep breaths in attempt to get some of what he lost in that powerful hit. It seems like the tables have turned, but those that know Ken know that just because he is down, it doesn't mean that he's out by ANY stretch of the imagination.

COMBATSYS: Ken gains composure.

Now it's Takuma's turn to pursue Ken.... sort of. He doesn't -pursue- physically; but as he's getting up, he pulls his hands to his stomach, letting that energy build once again... and this time he takes the time to yell out the attack name, as a way of focusing his energy... his hands flung wide, vertically, firing off another wall-like blast of energy.
"HAOH SHO KO KEN!" cries the older man.

Ken narrows his eyes, trying his best to figure out what to do about the wall-like pillar of energy coming his way. He decides he needs to try and dodge, that blocking would be too risky. However, the attack hits him full force before he can leap out of the way, the blast sending him flying...

But suprisingly, he lands on his feet. He isn't done yet. Racing for Takuma with speed that is likely almost too much for even a guy like Takuma, Ken zips right for Takuma in the wake of his attack, just give a loud cry of "Shouryuu Reppa!!" as the ground about Ken erupts into flames as he gives a powerful uppercut which carries him, and perhaps Takuma high into the air, the older man likely hit by both the uppercut and the column of flames that surrounds Ken. Hit or miss, Ken then drops to the ground, breathing heavily as he does.

Takuma makes an attempt to counter the attack--he considers it a better chance than letting Ken's flames burn him. But the uppercut and flames instead consume Takuma, flinging him to the ground not too far from Ken... and the older man sits up, laughing, yet sounding pained.
"Hahahah... a good showing, Masters. I like it." Resting forearms on his knees, Takuma blows out a big breath, then hmphs.
"We'll have to do it again sometime. Sometime later. Right now, kid, as a congratulations for that last attack, let's share in some sake together!"

"It would have to be a short drink, I'm afraid," Ken offers, taking a few breaths between every couple of words. "...Told my wife that I'd be back by ten or so, and it's almost nine now. If you want to stay around an extra day, could have lunch or something before you head out, my treat. Sound good?" He has smile on his lips, though he is looking rather ragged himself at this point.

Takuma rises, and walks over to Mr. Masters, offering a hand.
"That sounds just fine, young kid. As long as it's your treat." Takuma grins, big, and waggles his eyebrows. "Since you are the host, and all that."

"Right," Ken simply replies before taking the hand, grunting a little as he uses the hand to help pull himself up. Normally, he would just send the fighter on their way. That's what he did when he fought ALL of Team Awesome at once. However, with Takuma, he figures that a fellow Martial Artist Master deserves a bit more respect... And thus the offer is given. "You have a hotel room for the night, or should I arrange for that as well?"

"Ha ha! Young fellow, I'll meet you back here tomorrow for lunch. Other than that... don't worry about me!" Takuma is dusting off his gi and then... he turns and walks for the entrance. "Been a while since I've been in America with nothin' to do for a night. Perhaps I'll see how things are swinging at the joints I used to frequent..." ... is what he says as he walks out of the arena. But be assured... he -will- return.
