Description: Takuma fights a league battle with Krizalid in the slums of a random US city. Lots of concrete gets shattered. (Winner: Takuma)
Instead of picking some nice ritzy venue for this fight, like, say, Masters Stadium, the people in charge of promoting such things wanted something with just a little more potential for property damage. Something like, an empty basketball court that no one uses anymore, in the middle of the slums somewhere. Somewhere besides Metro City, because they wanted to be just a little more original than that. Now the real beauty of this, is that the fenced off area has some really old concrete, with cracks in a lot of places. It's almost a sure thing that it will crack, shatter, or even explode if they get two heavy hitters to battle on it. And that's why they chose someone like Takuma Sakazaki, and the more relatively unknown Krizalid. They've done enough homework to know that even though the latter doesn't look quite as big, he can take out a guy like Ralf without too much trouble. That should more than qualify, right?
In any case, Krizalid is already here, stepping in through a break in the rusty chainlink fence on one side, with his easily-recognized feather-mantled coat draped about his shoulders but hanging open slightly. It's not really that cold out here, so it looks just a little odd to the fight fans who are seeing him for the first time. Although the sad part of that is, most of those probably think they /have/ seen him before. They're wondering if this dark-skinned white-haired man isn't just K' using some kind of alias, as they look in on him from where they all ring the fence, some of them even hanging onto it. He sure has better posture than he used to though, if it is him! This guy doesn't slouch at all.
COMBATSYS: Krizalid has started a fight here.

It's taken a while before Takuma's had even a hint of an invitation from the Neo League; he refused the first because he felt that the fight wasn't worthy. But finally... the League officials were able to plead enough to get Takuma to face off against this unknown. Well, unknown to Takuma; and he's keeping it that way. Some fighters might study their opponents, research them, and the like... Takuma knows he will win--or lose--through pure skill and his own strategic ability. It's the way of Kyokugenryuu--face anything, even the unknown, with no fear and no regrets.
As Krizalid is arriving, so is Takuma; wearing only his karate gi, an outfit that's seen him through many years, he walks over broken glass and such litter with nary a care, his feet toughened through literal years of walking. He may not be Ryu, but he's trained and journeyed using some of the same methods, and there are more similarities than he might like to admit...
The Neo League officials wave Takuma over, and he slips through the fence, looking around... and spotting his opponent. Well well... Takuma acknowledges the fight fans with a nod, but his senses are all for his opponent, as he takes up his spot and ... waits for the fight to start.
COMBATSYS: Takuma has joined the fight here.

Takuma 0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0 Krizalid
There's no referee here, just an announcer, meaning things are most definitely no-holds-barred. And when he walks out to the middle of the old worn-out court, he doesn't have anything that makes him look distinctly a referee -or- an announcer, unless you want to count the megaphone. He's just in street clothes. Some random little wigger with his hair bleached yellow, jeans and a white tee. "'ey yo, let's get this fight started y'all!" he shouts into the megaphone, tilting his head back with it so it's not blaring directly at anyone, before then reaching down to pull his sagging pants up and just -bolting- off of the court like he's afraid he might get hit.
And it's probably a good idea, given that Krizalid dashes right for his opponent and snaps out a low stomping kick for one of his shins almost as soon as the megaphone clicks off. That little white boy would certainly have been standing directly in the way if he hadn't have at least moved off to the side.

Fortunately, Takuma has no idea what a wigger is... the dude's annoying but whatever; he doesn't get hit. Then again, neither does Takuma; he crouches slightly and tenses his leg, turning it into the kick, absorbing most of the impact. He grins, a little, at Krizalid, lifting a finger.
"Now now, young man, no need to be so impatient!" Then again, perhaps Takuma shouldn't talk; this close, he suddenly lets his fists fly, and fly they do, a barrage of punches flying for Krizalid's chest and head, blazing with golden chi that leaves streaks of energy behind; at least fifteen punches are thrown, the attack ending with a powerful right uppercut that Takuma actually leans into.
COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Krizalid with Zanretsu Ken.
Oh, ow. The spectators all act like they felt that one. The white-haired dude gets nowhere with his stomp, and his boot just sort of bounces off of the other man's leg, sending him staggering back enough that he's left wide open for the flurry of punches when Takuma opens up with. He tries to get his arms crossed up in front of himself to stop at least a few of them, but once you caught up in something like that, naaaah, not happenin'. Needless to say, he's pretty stunned after being pummelled, and then uppercutted by the tough old man, so he stumbles back a few steps and tries to regain his composure, tightening up his guard like a boxer and taking a couple of measured breaths.
COMBATSYS: Krizalid gains composure.

Takuma 0/-------/-======|===----\-------\0 Krizalid
After that opening salvo, Takuma seems more than willing enough to let Krizalid back off. After all, any opening in Krizalid's guard is certainly closed by now. Taking a somewhat different tack in this fight, Takuma begins preparing for the rest of the fight... calling up the golden chi that is his birthright, the result of his training, he slams his fists against opposite shoulders, then crosses his arms in front of him as he crouches into a lowered stance, that energy swirling around him in a circular column--and that's only the excess, that's leaking out. Just for dramatic effect, Takuma intones a low, slightly rising "Haaaaaaa~~" as he goes.
COMBATSYS: Takuma gathers his will.

Takuma 1/----===/=======|===----\-------\0 Krizalid
Krizalid raises his eyebrows and starts to look a little more worried about hitting Takuma, and soon, when he realizes the other man is gathering more of that gold chi to himself. From what he just saw, that stuff put quite a bit more power in his punches. Better to try and stop him from getting too far in the endeavor. % Dropping his guard quite a bit, Krizalid extends a single hand, putting his palm forward and firing off a thick bolt of some sort evil energy. It just shoots from his sleeve as if it were a cannon, it seems like. And what makes it so thick is, well, it's actually two fireballs in one. "Hn!"

Takuma 1/---====/=======|===----\-------\0 Krizalid
At the least, Krizalid certainly puts a stop to Takuma's charging up; he cuts it short and covers up, both physically and bringing his aura to bear, those blasts of energy slamming into him, the excess streaming off his form.
His response? A grin. A quick, and feral grin, as Takuma rubs his forearms. "A strong attack, kid--but not quite yet. Maybe I should show you how it's done?" he inquires, almost like he's talking to himself, then nods.
"Yeah! C'mon kid, show me you got guts!" he shouts, as he pulls a hand back, at shoulder level, then thrusts it out at Krizalid, palm open, to fire off a smallish, dense orb of golden chi.
"Ko'ou KEN!" he cries, putting emphasis on it.
COMBATSYS: Krizalid fails to reflect Ko'ou Ken from Takuma with Typhon's Rage - Reflect.

Takuma 1/=======/=======|======-\-------\0 Krizalid
Krizalid does have guts. Guts enough to step forward and start to raise his leg for what looks like a kick when Takuma shoots a fireball at him, rather than hunching down and trying to block it like some kind of turtle. Is he going to try and kick the Ko'ou Ken? Because that would be pretty badass, and a few of the spectators even say this out loud, if one is listening. What actually happens is Krizalid attempts to whip his leg around in a wide circle to kick up some wind chi, and it turns into a sizeable hurricane. It was just in time for catching the fireball too, but the problem lies in the fact that hurricanes have eyes, that the fireball is just small enough to go right through and blast Krizalid in the chest. Hnngh.
That -is- bold. Takuma approves. In fact he would just -stamp- his approval right on Krizalid's forehead... wait... is that what he's trying to do? No... he's just rushing forward, behind the fireball, not afeared of anything that Krizalid was trying, and... attempting to tag Krizalid right in the forehead with a fist. If he had a ring on like Shen, it would definitely be able to stamp 'Kyoku' upon a successful hit. But he doesn't.
Hmm. Maybe he should get one.

The NESTS exec doesn't seem to want Takuma's approval. Not for something that failed, anyway. He's sort of a perfectionist and he wouldn't really be able to feel good about a failed attempt even if it were Igniz himself telling him it was worth the effort. That and, well, he just has this feeling taking a jab to the forehead from someone who practices karate of all styles would make his whole skull vibrate in ways he'd rather not imagine. It might be -slightly- better than getting kicked in the head by Terry, but you never know. But the real point is, he gets his hands up and catches the Sakazaki elder's fist in his palms and pushes back on the knuckles before just standing right there and lighting himself ablaze in crimson flame.

Hrmph. A fast punch, relatively fast, and Krizalid was able to block. Well... good! Very good. Takuma -revels- in fighting strong opponents... kind of like Grant, but with less psycho and a different mask. He pulls his hand back, chuckling, watching Krizalid start to charge up the way Takuma did earlier... Perhaps he can stop that. Perhaps he should. Takuma lunges forward, eeking to quite simply reach out and take hold of Krizalid by the shoulders of the pimp coat; if he grabs, he'll start throwing a fast series of knees into Krizalid's stomach, lifting off the ground, finishing the strike with a flying side kick that gives Takuma enough momentum to flip backwards. If he doesn't hit, well... then he ends up lookin' kind of silly.

Maybe Krizalid's ready, and maybe he's not. As far as anyone can tell from the sidelines, behind the chainlink fence around the relic that was once called a basketball court, the man just kind of falls through the back of his quickly-disintegrating coat. He did look pretty surprised that Takuma was willing to grab a flaming trenchcoat, as well as the fact that it didn't even seem to burn him. His hands must just be as rough as the bottoms of his feet.
So, Krizalid goes falling back, and drops into a backward roll before pushing up to his feet again, the orange glow of the flames dimming and then leaving him completely as he raises his guard, putting out in front for shielding his face as he tries to slide back in and punch Takuma as hard as he can. He'll have to if he wants it to be felt through such a tough hide as the hardened old man's. "Raaah!"

It's time for Krizalid's bravery and boldness to be rewarded. As such, Takuma doesn't even move--he doesn't even flinch, when that fist comes in. And the impact should feel as satisfying as it looks, the white-haired young man's punch creasing Takuma's jaw, sending the Kyokugen master's head flying...
... or does it? Krizalid surely landed his hit, but Takuma took it without flinching--and without falling. In a lightning flash he's swept his hands up to grab for Krizalid's arm, and if he gains purchase, he'll quite simply turn forward, twisting his upper body to fling Krizalid headlong away from himself.

Krizalid gets this look on his face that just says "Ohshi-" for him. One blue eye is more open than the other, the eyebrow over it climbing way up his forehead, shining with sweat as it is, and he just stares back at Takuma, jaw slack. That seriously didn't move him at all? He's not to stunned to -try- and jerk his arm back out of the other man's grip, but it's to no avail and he finds himself thrown, smacking down against some of the cracked pavement enough to bust a small crater in it. FINALLY.
The de-coated NESTS boss climbs back up to his feet, and little chunks of pavement fall away from him as he does. He seems to shrug off the pain then, and walks right up to Takuma reaching for his jaw this time instead of punching at it, and trying to lift the other man up off his feet.

Takuma 2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Krizalid
Krizalid is still in the relative prime of his youth. He hasn't hit the big 30 yet, so he's actually got power enough to lift a guy this much more buff than he is. He's pretty cut himself, after all. Just not quite as big. He succeeds in lifting the Kyokugen fighter up by the face with one arm, and then proceeds to push him back down to the concrete below, tilting him back with the other hand so that his spine will hopefully be what strikes the ground. "AMAI!" Nevermind what that means, Takuma, it's just become a habit by this point. He acknowledges your strength, really!
Oh, Takuma knows what that means. He -is- Japanese, after all, not a ptato-sucking Irishman... but that's not important, right now. Takuma coughs through the face-grip and slam... the slam does impact his spine, but not quite as bad as Krizalid might have wanted; from here, Takuma modifies one of his techniques, stolen from Judo, to try and grab Krizalid's coat again...

Takuma 2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Krizalid
Krizalid isn't quite fast enough to pull away from Takuma after chokeslamming him to the pavement. He's snagged, and pulled down, and goes rolling with the other karate master, smacking into the paved court not just once, but several times before he's kicked away. He's able to make his fall a bit safer than was probably intended, however, righting himself in midair and managing to impact the ground with his knees. That's another crater put into the old weakened concrete. This might actually be worth the repaving that's going to be done to it tomorrow when the all the cement trucks come in.
In any case, the NESTS fighter gets back up to his feet with a grunt, pushing off with one hand and rearing back to spread his arms wide and shout some kind of battle cry. It causes him to explode into a pillar of flame, and then he goes one further, as a pair of flaming wings shoot out to either side of him, and he stands with fingers splayed, gathering up those wings and running straight for Takuma with them, trailing more plumes of fire in his wake.

It's... the Irishman is carrying a lot more flame in his fists than it looks like at first glance. When he reaches Takuma, he just lets go of it all, putting his palms forward and expelling so much explosive crimsom flame that it looks like a mini-nuke went off. And the flame even takes the shape of a mushroom cloud near the end before what's left of it floats up into the air and dissapates. And out at the back of the crowd behind where Takuma just got blasted, you can hear that wigger announcer just going nuts. The megaphone's not on, so it's not really too intelligible what he says. Mostly just obscenities anyway.
Ungh! Takuma ate it and hard, that's for sure; his world is nothing but flame and pain for long moments. Once he lands, he rolls away, coughing, grinning, ignoring the pain...
"Alright, kiddo, that was a good one," he coughs... he sets himself in a horse stance, once again gathering himself... to clear away the traces of pain and injury that are still plaguing his vision. Though it won't restore him to perfection, any little bit helps...

Krizalid is thrown back a ways himself by the blast, skidding right back into one of those holes he and Takuma have put in the abandoned b-ball court. Thankfully, the crater has enough of a lip for his boots to catch against, keeping him from falling into or tripping all the way over it. He looks pretty exhausted for a moment as he leans forward and just lets his arms hang for a moment, watching Takuma for a bit before he decides he shouldn't give the other man an inch if he can help it. This doesn't mean he has to stop resting his overexerted arms just yet. He just needs to put his legs to some use. And so, leaning forward a bit, the silver-haired Irishman raises his leg up high and then lets it just fall, the heel of it smacking down into the broken concrete as a horizontal whirlwind is thrown out, to rush toward Takuma like some kind of buzzsaw blade. "Tornado!"

That charging pose that Takuma took up, incidentally? It's also the perfect pose for Takuma to begin one of his style's most famed techniques: The Haoh Sho Ko Ken. Takuma pulls his hands to his stomach, right above the charka point; energy builds briefly and quickly, and that buzzsaw of energy is blown through by a wall of golden chi, roaring out from Takuma's outflung hands, accompanied by a healthy shout of "HAOH SHO KO KEN!"
Krizalid stares with an expression of utter disbelief as something every bit as big as one of Rugal's Kaiser Waves comes flying straight for him, blowing through his man-sized tornado and just continuing on its merry way. He tries to dive out of the way at the last moment, but yeah right, that thing is just huge. The majority of it slams into him while he's still in midair, and because he's not grounded enough for any kind of friction to occur he gets knocked clear across the court, to slam into one side of the flimsy chainlink fence that seperates it from all the bystanders. It gives a little, but the people on the outside of it start to push against it, and this serves to make the younger man bounce back, land on his feet, and sort of hit the ground running. He puts his hand out, and tries to slam it into Takuma with whatever momentum has been allowed him, clenching his teeth and baring them as he tries to stay in the fight just a little longer.

Takuma regards Krizalid impassively; the hand is blocked, almost shoved aside, and Takuma steps aside to let the young man fall.
"You did well, kiddo, but you're still a bit too early to beat the master of Kyokugenryuu." It's a rather understated end to the fight, as Takuma turns away; the fight was good, even if Krizalid was found somewhat wanting, and as he walks away, he turns to Krizalid and grins.
"I expect a rematch, kiddo, and I expect you to bring your -real- fight next time!"
