Description: Kensou and Yuri battle it out, League-style! (Winner: Kensou)
Ahh, to fight in an area! The stands all around you, the roar of the crowd, the smell of stuff from the concession stand making your stomach growl! ...Okay, so, really, there's not /that/ big of a crowd, given how little leadup there is to most League battles, and it's not like we're talking about the biggest draws in the professional fighting world, but there's still /people there/. And they're excited, and ready to see some quality violence up in here today! And what fighter in their right mind would want to disappoint a crowd?
Certainly not Sie Kensou, who stands near the middle of the arena, on the 'sandy beach' area. The Chinese teenager gives his fingerless gloves a tug, making sure they're properly settled, while inside his head he goes on about the business of getting properly psyched up form the coming battle. And trying to not get all panicky and sabotage himself in front of the crowd... After all, even Kensou has his fanbase, and there's a few of them up there in the stands. "C'mon, Kensou. You can do it!" he says to himself under his breath, because after getting smacked around by Makoto... How hard can /this/ be?
Concession stands!
Yuri's probably not as bad as Xiangfei on the whole 'eating while fighting' thing - but she's still super-into the concept as a whole. Num num, nothing like a hot dog before a battle. In fact, a hot-dog _as_ a battle sounds pretty good, and that's just where she'd come from. Freh off her win as Seattle's resident 'Hot Dog Eating Championships', Yuri enters the arena still licking her fingers and smacking her lips. Num! She stops and kicks her feet a bit on the beach, to get her traction, then waves to the crowd, energetically!
"Hey! You ready for a great fight today?" she asks Kensou, and really, not even waiting for an answer - she leaps into the offensive. After all, they want a show, they're going to get a show! One full of thrills, chills - and hopefully, ending with Kensou taking a spill! She rushes towards Kensou, and spins her left foot around in a simple strike, a roundhouse kick of mighty proportions. One that will settle this fight right off the bat! Or at least, give her good positioning going in.

"'course I--Whoa!!" Kensou was trying to answer here, and Yuri had to just haul right off and attack him! He tries to get out of the way of the roundhouse - honestly, he sees it coming a mile away! - but maybe it's the sand, or maybe it's the surprise, but he doesn't quite manage it, and instead he gets good and whacked by Yuri's roundhouse. "Geh!" he declares, because that kinda hurt. Kensou doesn't give himself much time to stagger, though, immediately going on the counterattack as he throws himself straight at Yuri in a completely horizontal leap: His left elbow and knee are both extended towards her for simultaneous strikes, bracing his left arm with his right. "Yo-!!" And if that hits, he twists at the waist, trying to violently bring his other knee to bear. "Ya-!!" And if /that/ works, he keeps right on twisting, extending his left leg for a roundhouse kick of his own, all without touching the ground in between! "Hyaa-!!"

"Ha! That's Kyokugen Powaaaaaaaack!"
Yuri's cheeks are flushed with excitement as she hits, and lands. She almost has time to give Kensou a thumbs-up - but, uh. Not quite. Instead, she has enough time to try and get a block up, instead suddenly eating a large amount of knee and elbow damage, followed into that powerful roundhouse of his own. She staggers back - and does take a moment to recuperate, wobbling a bit on her heels as she tries to recover. "Nice power!"
But still, the fight's barely even begun! And so Yuri's going to make sure that he knows that she's not a pushover in any way, shape or form! This means she's got to keep going all-out.. And all-out she will be! Lunging forwards, Yuri brings her hands down, clasped together on her right side. Bracing, she leaps into the air, and then brings both of them down in an overhand smash right at Kensou's noggin. Just before the second that she thinks will be impact, red-gold light spills out of her clasped fingers, and she shouts out the attack - because it's fun!
"RAIOOOU KEN!!"

And Kensou flips back after the Ryuu Renga, landing spryly on his feet... Except for the part where he stumbles a little on the sand. Ah, he almost looked so cool! Not that the Psycho Soldier has /too/ much time to worry about it, as he's got the Kyokugen fighter coming right at him again. So it becomes time to plan very, very carefully for the psychic teen, and he doesn't have that many moments to decide, either. He starts to fall back as Yuri comes in for that overhand attack, and it actually doesn't hit him at all; instead, Kensou falls back onto his hand, lifting his body up off the ground, and Yuri is treated to a pair of pistoning kicks, first one foot and then the other, to juggle her in the air and knock her away! However, the /chi/ attack does hit Kensou, and it certainly stings, leaving him wincing in pain as he hops back onto his feet. "Heheheh... Sorry!" he calls out, in a mischievous tone that suggests he's not very sorry at all!
That did not go as expected. Or as planned. Maybe not even as hoped. At least, well - it could have been worse? It's not like Yuri took the kicks in her stomach, or anything. In fact, she feels pretty good, aside from the whole spiraling to the ground and crunching on the sand of the beach kind of thing. She gets to her feet slowly, shaking her head and muttering under her breath. This is not how things are suppsoed to go - not at all! Since she's been going all-out, well it's time to switch things up a little!
"No.. No problem! Why don't you come in and play?" she says, bringing her hands up, and beckoning him in. This time, she's going to give him a chance for that 'free' shot, and maybe, just maybe, she'll be able to find a way and recover to her advantage! Or else, well - she might just die a horrible death!

Naturally, though, Kensou is a liiiiiiittle suspicious about that sort of thing. The tiniest bit. The look the psychic teen gives Yuri is, in fact, plainly dubious, as he settles back into his fighting stance and rather than 'coming in and playing', he actually puts a bit more distance between himself and the girl. "Ain't my style, sorry," he calls back, and instead, he focuses on something else. Tensing faintly, Kensou is suddenly surrounded by whirling flashes of blue-tinged whit energy, tracing an intricate pattern around him as his clothes and hair stir in an unfelt breeze. "Tyaaaaaaa--!!" Oh yeah, he's getting ready to go BIG TIME over here!

Kensou's dictating the needs of the fight, the pace and flow - and Yuri's not just going to sit around like a mopey dope and not make with the punching! So what does one do, when faced with a vertiable tower of chi? Well - they throw something into it!
In this case, that would be Yuri herself! She rushes Kensou, trying to blast through that wall of energy, to give him something to remember the fight by. That, in this case, would be a big 'ol shoulderblock, that follows up into a giant uppercut! Of the painful variety - it's not like she doesn't have weighted gloves for a reason!
"YURI... CHOU... UPPAAAA!"

You know, that doesn't look like something Kensou really wants to get hit with. However, he can't move too much without disrupting his concentration and ruining what he's doing... So instead, he does the next best thing, throwing up his arms to take the impact of the shoulder block, skidding back a little, enough that the uppercut only wings his guard rather than doing any /really/ serious harm. "Teh... Too slow!" he chides with a laugh, breaking his guard position and lunging forward to try and catch Yuri by the ankle... And toss her towards the shallow water! "Hyaa-!!"

Normally, Yuri would celebrate by the fact that she actually tagged someone with the Yuri Chou Upper - in this case, she's a bit too busy going flying into the shallow end of the 'ocean' to notice. She's drenched when she gets to her feet, still knee deep in the wet stuff. Her hair hangs limp in her face, the braid in the back all soggy and flopped against her back like a drowned muskrat. She brings a hand up to her head, and pushes her headband up so she can see again, and then holds out a hand, pointing it towards Kensou.
"You need... A STEAM BATH!" she says, defiantly, and then slaps her hands together, leaning forwards and then seperating them, up and down. In between her fingers, red-gold energy blazes into life again, this time, though - it travels forwards like a bullet, whipping water up and boiling it, drying the girl and blazing at her opponent! Aimed directly for the noggin of one Sie Kensou, a giant ball of chi that's the size of Yuri's body!
"HAOU SHO KOOOO KEN!!!"

That... Looks like it could be very unpleasant. Kensou doesn't really want to get hit by the large chi blast, but he doesn't seem to have many options either, given the size and speed of it... So, gritting his teeth, he concentrates for a moment, gathering power as he raises his hands up in front of his face. "Haaa--!!" And then he sweeps them out, with a cry of: "CHOUKYUUDAN!!" A sphere of Psycho Power, almost pure white and sized like a beach ball, forms in the air in front of him and hurtles right at the Haoh Sho Ko Ken, crackling with power...! But it's not quite enough, the Psycho Power blast not enough to overwhelm Yuri's attack, which - though weakened - continues past to hit Kensou, knocking him right off of his feet onto the sand with a yelp.
"Wow! That's pretty cool!"
Yuri's only seen psycho power at work once or twice before - and that's always a fascinating sort of thing to see in action. She, herself has no psycho power, so all she knows is that the chi makes her feel a bit wonky when she's around it. What's with that? She waits for Kensou to get to his feet, and in fact, takes the moment to start psyching herself up for his next attack! She holds her hands in close to her body, and looks down at the water. Tranquil, tranquil - counting the rings around her feet as they ripple off into infinity, red-gold chi starts to flicker and rise in a circle around her body. "Haaaaaaaaaaa.....!!"

To be honest, Kensou was hoping that'd go a bit differnetly... But not so much! He curls his body in and then springs back up to his feet, kicking up the sand a little, and giving his head a shake. ...Just in time to see Yuri psyching herself up and building her own energy? Oh crap! Well, Kensou does still have a few tricks left up his sleeve, don't you worry.
"Yeah, I think it's pretty cool," he agrees, nodding thoughtfully... Yes, it's likely about That Time. Time for him to reach behind his back with one hand. "Now I'm gonna havta get serious with ya," Kensou says, his tone turning overdramatic, his posture changing a little, as from behind his back he produces... A PIPING HOT MEAT BUN! He holds it out in front of him, dramatically. Such tension in the air! "I'm gonna show ya... My super secret certain death ultimate technique!!"
That said, he eats the bun.
Serious? Serious by eating?! Well, then! Yuri's just going to stand there gaping, for a momnet - maybe even two. Dumbfounded, she wasn't expecting this in any way, shape, or form. So.. What do you do, when someone eats a bun in front of you?
"LET ME HELP YOU!" Yuri shouts out as she rushes Kensou, raising her hands up - again, another rushing overhand smash, red-gold energy around her fingers as she attempts to pound that meat bun and his fingers deep into his mouth. Maybe she can win by getting him to choke on his hands! That'll stop him from fighting for sure!

Mm, nutritious and delicious! Kensou visibly recovers as he's eating the bun, his stance becoming a bit easier, some of the visible damage from Yuri's attacks vanishing before everyone's very eyes... And then here comes Yuri trying to hit him at the same time? Well, he has a free arm you know. Two of them in fact, as he finishes stuffing the bun into his mouth, and gets those forearms in the way of Yuri's attack.
"Mrrf mrgh hmmf!!" he declares around what remains of the meat bun, and it was probably a biting insult or some dramatic statement that would forever shake Yuri to the core of her being, if he hadn't said it with his mouth full... And then he shoves back against Yuri's attack to try and throw her off-balance, then swinging a leg up at her side for a hard kick, pulling it back for just a second before kicking her again!

"It's not good to talk with your mouth full!"
Such speaketh Yuri! In fact, she's more than willing to do so - just ask Fei-Fei sometime, and she'll probably say things that will make a person shudder! Eee. She focuses up for the attack, and then braces herself - when that shove comes in, she just tumbles, falling backwards. Hitting the ground, she rolls along the edge of the beach, well out of the way of those two, brutal kicks.
She springs back up to her feet with a cheery thumbs-up and then a 'v' for victory. In fact, to add insult to injury, she turns her back on Kensou, and to the delight of the crowd, pats herself on the rump, mocking at Kensou over her shoulder. "I think you missed a spot! Wanna try again?!" She is, however, being sneaky - again, trying to taunt Kensou into attacking her - again, hoping that the effects will be worthwhile!

Oh! Oh no you didn't! Kensou frowns most impressively at Yuri's taunting, and he starts to take a step forward... But stops himself from haring off foolishly. Instead, he shifts his weight back and watches Yuri - not the patting her butt part, because that would be weird! - but instead he's looking for openings, keeping his eyes on how she moves, lest he ends up making some horribly grave mistake. "Careful, somebody might go an' kick you there!" he desclares, just so he's at least /trying/ to taunt back.

Drat! Someone is not falling for her giant attempts at drama! Nor her clever schemes! So what does this mean? This means that Yuri must find another way to pull this off. And so - instead - she turns back to face Kensou, approaching him slowly, then.. stumbling! Sand, that darn sand - it gets under your sneakers, sends you knees first into the ground.. And makes you pay! "Oof!"
This is, of course, only a ploy! Right after she hits the ground, she moves forwards, trying to catch him again with the bumrush and shoulder-smash turned into uppercut. If it hits, well - yay! If not, well.. boo!
"YURIII CHOU... UPPAAAA!"

Looks like the ploy actually works, though; Kensou doesn't realise until too late, and his attempt to dive out of the way of her attack thusly doesn't work! Instead, he gets shoulderblocked and uppercutted, that knocks him up into the air and away, hitting the sand with a loud thump. That kinda sucked, that's for sure. Getting up into a crouch, Kensou stakes his head and dusts off some sand, sighing at himself. "Good one!" Kensou says, amicably enough for somebody who just got helluva punched. And then he dashes forward, launching a one-two swinging punch combination at Yuri's jaw. "Yaa-!!"

Yuri puts her guard up, really she does! Hands up in front of her and everything! She's all ready for the giant swings that come in, those nasty one-two punches, each one echoing in the arena with a loud crunch! She's staggered, dizzy and off-balance, shaking her head and trying to recover. How _do_ you recover from something like that? Can you, really? Or do you just suffer in silence, and mope later?
Yuri does no such thing! In fact, the crushing blow makes her try all the harder, the impact causing her to swing to the left. She uses the hit as a lead-in to a spin - the spin ending with a backfist aimed right at Kensou's jaw. Two can play that game, you see!
COMBATSYS: Kensou parries Yuri's Jab Punch!

/Aimed/ right at his jaw, sure. But /aimed/ is the operative word. Kensou can feel that punch coming his way, a sudden surge of awareness that his body reacts to before his mind can even really evaluate what its sensing; his weight shifts and he ducks back, feeling Yuri's spinning backfist move past his face harmlessly, feeling the air displaced by it... And then he lunges forward, before she can properly get herself back under control after the attack, or that's his intent, anyway.
Kensou thrusts his right hand forward, palm open, and taps his left hand against his own right shoulder, bracing himself for what's about to come. For a moment, the sand around them is kicked up by the building energy of the attack he's about to unleash, and the Psycho Soldier's eyes gleam blue for just a moment, and then a massive sphere of pure white light erupts into the air, centered on where Yuri is supposed to be. It's a hellish Psycho Power blast, sure to hurt like crazy if Yuri is trapped inside, attacking her from every direction at once before he finally loses control of the blast and it collapses... Sending anyone inside of it a-flyin'.

Off balance, stumbling aside - Yuri's suddenly out of her element. She's unsure of _what_ to do, what's coming up - all she knows is that it's probably going to hurt in some way, shape, or form. As she turns her head back to face Kensou, she sees that growing blue light. And it scares her, quite muchly.
So, what does one do? Yuri isn't sure - in this case, she's in over her head. The blue-white ball blazes into existance around her, and starts to compress - Yuri's panicked voice can be heard from inside it, a gibbering amount of 'ohgeez' and 'ohno' and 'aaaaaaaaah!' With one last clear thing being heard before it finally completely engulfs her.
"SAIHA!"
Inside, redgold chi battles with blue-white psycho power - and in the end, Yuri's on her knees, hands over her head, and her red-gold shield still protects her..It winks out a second after, and she peeks out through her hands. Eep?
Well... That's awkward. Kensou stands there after the Senki Hakkei and Saiha both dissipate, and the two fighters are left standing there, both of them unharmed! "Uh..." says the Chinese fighter, momentarily unsure of just how to go on after all that. It was very... Well... Yeah. "..." Wait, no, this is no time to just stand around, Kensou! Shaking his head, he gets back on his focus. "Okay, that was good, but I ain't done yet!" he declares, taking a wild swing at Yuri's jaw, and if he lands it, he follows it up with a few more such punches, ending the combination up with a shoulder block of his own. "Huaa-!!"

Stunned! Suprised and elated by the fact that she just survived the giant attack o'DOOM!, Yuri gets back up! She's even ready as Kensou comes in again. Her hands come up - and mindful of her failed block last time, she tries to weave out of the way. Sadly, for her, it fails! Her head rocks to the side, then is knocked back once, twice, and a third time! Staggered by the shoulder rush, she sprawls down in the sand, onto a knee. No way to recover from this, except for going all out!
There's no more 'all out' to give, though. Yuri's not able to get back up to her feet, instead bringing her hands up and away, aiming them at an area somewhere around Kensou's knees. "HA... HAOH SHO KO KEN!" she crues, a blazing blast of firey golden energy toasting the sand in a trail right towards Kensou. The blowback, however, is enough to knock her onto her rear, obviously out of the fight.

Staggering back a bit after hitting the Ryuu Renda, Kensou sees that attack of Yuri's coming, all right... And he tries to get the /heck/ out of the way, because those things hurt! But for whatever reason - fate, Kensou's own bad luck, Yuri's refusal to just get totally wrecked, who knows! - the Haoh Sho Ko Ken hits him, and hits him hard, sending the Psycho Soldier rolling and tumbling through the sand. /Ow/, man. Ow. But, unlike Yuri, Kensou isn't out of the fight, and in fact he gets back up to his feet, looking pretty battered. "Whew," he says, but... It looks like he's the winner!
