Description: Sakura and Xiangfei fight AGAIN for the FIRST TIME in Osaka, yo. Xiangfei gives it her all as always, and Sakura is just IN THE ZONE. It's.. It's just crazy! (Winner: Sakura)
Osaka, Japan. It may not be as glitzy or glamorous as the renowned fighting mecca, Southtown, but it's got some kickass cuisine. The aromas of okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and all sorts of other yummy delicacies ending in -yaki can be detected in the air of the famed Namba district.
It's almost enough to make one forget about the swarm of people clustered around one street in particular. An arched plexiglas roof keeps the weather out -- this 'street' may actually be considered an open-air mall for all intents and purposes. A rather large arcade stands guard at one side of the street's mouth, a department store flanking the other, and restaurants line the tiled street as it heads to the south. Many people are trying to shuffle past -- it's often a fairly busy thoroughfare, after all -- but there's a clearly marked area outside for the participants of the Neo League fight scheduled here.
Too bad neither of the participants is in, at the moment. One of them, Sakura Kasugano, is sitting in one of the many restaurants, hurriedly slurping down a bowl of zaru-udon, casting a quick glance out to the street every few seconds, like a panicking bird. With the time approaching, she finally decides she's had enough of the soup, nudges the bowl towards the cook, and dashes outside into the street with only a rushed "'scuse me!" to announce her presence.
And when she rushes out into the street... =everyone= stares. Indignant, the headbanded schoolgirl asks, "... What?!"
There is one girl that's totally down with Osaka! Well.. Sort of. It is certainly the place to go to to get some -serious- shopping done, but Xiangfei doesn't really have any shopping plans -this- day. No sir.
What was that? That NANPA disctrict??? .. Oh.
That's right, Li Xiangfei was IN THE HOUSE today, and she's going to be fighting on a full stomach, she's already gotten her fill of yummy delicacies, and she's gabbing away on her N-Gage for -some- reason or another, while she waits for her opponent. She's currently dressed in her usual fighterwear, white pants, red top, but.. She's not wearing her bells for some reason. No, instead she's wearing panda-ears that she bought for cheap! She's a panda-girl, check her out!
And then Sakura arrives, whooshing by and making her pantlegs flap wildly, she setting her hands on her hips, "Dang girl," she says as she halts her side-talking, "You're early! What's the occassion?"

"Early?" Sakura's eyes go wide as saucers. "... Early?!" She looks over at the digital clock hanging from the arch. It's early, alright! She looks back at the restaurant clock... LATE. "... no -wonder- I was so nervous!" she exclaims, brushing the front of her uniform shirt free of the invisible dust motes clinging on for dear life. And... she cocks her head to the side as she finally notices those ears. "... are... wait, is this some kinda special occasion?" She quirks a lopsided smile: "Or did you just get a taste for bamboo shoots?"
Welcoming made, the Ansatsuken student pulls her hand-guards on snugly, stepping into the clearing the nice league officials have made for the pair. "Well... come at me, then, whenever you're ready!" And she falls into her traditional fighting stance, left side turned towards Xiangfei.

Xiangfei clicks off her handheld, slipping it into her shoulderbag and nudges it off to the side with her foot, and then makes her way to the center of the 'ring', punching a fist into her open palm and gives her opponent a slight bow, "What? Bamboo shoots are edible?" she asks incredulously. That was news to her! Maybe she'll give it a go, "Nuh-uh, they were on sale at one of the jewelry marts, someone messed up the 'Year of the dog' ears, so they were super cheap!" Mind you, there isn't even a year of the.... Bear.. So whoever messed it up, messed up REALLY bad. "It's been a while, huh? I noticed you're tearing up the league! ..." a pause, "Much like I'm going to do to you! oooooooooooooooooh!!" she presses her fingertips togeather then splays them out and with a - HAH! Her golden chi starts to roar something fierce! Look out!

Quirking an eyebrow at Xiangfei's explanation, Sakura shrugs lightly. "I dunno, what =do= pandas eat? All I ever see is them chomping on bamboo and stuff."
She smiles a bit as Xiangfei throws out her taunt, but really... Sakura's =more= than familiar with the Chinese warrior maiden's use of chi. "Yeah, you're shootin' pretty far up yourself... but can you knock -Kyo- off the pedestal?" Sakura's not the slightest bit nervous about that, not at all!
Nor is she in the mood to give Xiangfei a fast trip to a Chou Pai Long either. "... Ain't it a bit -early- for that, LiX?" And just to show Xiangfei what she's talking about, Sakura curls her hands behind her, grinning ferally. "I mean, don't jinx yourself or nothin..." And whipping her hands forward, the schoolgirl reveals a cerulean-blue blossom of flame, sending it hurtling towards Xiangfei: "HADOOOOOUKEN!"

"Well -yeah- they eat bamboo, but my question is, do vegetarians eat it??" She can't really see it being on her menu one day, but.. You never know! Maybe they're like shredded wheat.. ....
Mmnnn.. shredded wheat. LiX doesn't have much time to fantasize about it though, for she has to deal with chi-y goodness that smashes against the swirling piller and eases off a good hunk of 'umf' from the blow, easily defended! As shown by her still extended palms, "Ain't never to early, girl.. There's only too late!" there's a slight stagger in her steps when she rushes forward again, drawing her fist back and then she -leaps- at Sakura to close in the distance faster, and snaps a quick kick at the girls shoulder, "Hah!" this is then followed by a crouching jab to Sakuras gut and a stronger palm-thrust with her opposite hand, "Hup! Hah!!"

Xiangfei -does- have a point here. Though... Sakura realizes this much too late. She's still grinning at the way her Hadouken's reaction against Xiangfei's guard!
And not devoting quite enough attention to getting out of the way of that initial kick. She swerves, but is a bit too slow for an escape, easily tagged in the shoulder and leaving herself wide open for the followups -- the last of which shoves her back into a ceramic statue of Colonel Sanders! *clonk*
Stumbling forward, Sakura shakes her face out from the blows. "Yeah, yeah... I guess you gotta point there!" And just to show what a good sport she is, Sakura whips forward, swinging her foot high and wide in a roundhouse towards Xiangfei's cheek. "HAAAAA!"

Xiangfei rolls her shoulders lightly, and hops lightly on her feet a bit, actually seeming a little suprised to have landed her combination since her start was a little shaky. Worried for a moment when the statue is bumped into, it seems both Sakura -and the Colonel are ok, "I wish I could be right all the time, then I'd be rich!" she pipes, and as Sakura strikes back, she gives another powerful, "HAI!" when the foot slams into her cheek, and she doesn't even budge! Sure, it hurt like dickens, but todays lesson is mind-over matter! ... Well.. Until she rolls her eyes in the back of her head and falls flat on her back afterward.
Sakura's probably used to this feint... Or maybe she isn't? But suddenly Xiangfei handsprings upward at the snap of a finger, a double-heeled kick headed straight for her chin, "WATAAAAH!"

Sakura may have been nailed by the last set of strikes, but she won't be tricked this time! She'd stayed close after her roundhouse, hopping backwards slightly, if only because she's a bit concerned at Xiangfei stonewallin' it. Narrowing her eyes at the feint, she's ready -- doubling her arms before her to absorb the kick long enough for her to sidestep away. "Heh-heh... almost!" she notes with a grin.
"But you can't be right -all- the time!" she adds, lurching forward sharply to ram her left elbow at Xiangfei in a decisive, powerful strike -- and then following it up with a palm strike from the opposite hand. "HWEI-HAAAAAOOH!" Is the mockingbird ganking other people's moves again?

Well dang.. Talk about your plans not going the way you expect.. Granted, that's getting fixed in a moment. She snaps her fingers as she plops to her feet, then shakes a finger to the schoolgirl, "That is tru- What the?"
Xiangfei doesn't know if Sakura's like.. suddenly into kung-fu or she ganked that combination from someone else, but either way, she knows how to deal with it, while the first elbow strikes hard, there's a little flash in her eyes that doesn't tell Sakura until the last moment some LiX TriX action is commencing. The palm strike slaps into Xiangfeis palm, while her opposite slams into Sakuras with stunning force, "HAH!" and she leans back just a little to add to the impact with a double-palm strike, "HUP!" and the last bit has a liiiitle bit if tai-chi flavor as she ends it with a crouch then another kick toward Sakuras jaw! "HAAH!"
Okay, Sakura expected her elbow to land soundly. Point-blank range, fairly fast attack and all, right? But the the -last- thing Sakura would have expected would be the sudden reversal that results in her staggering backwards, face a deep red from the sudden application of force! "Ow!" she exclaims, arms windmilling to her sides to keep her from tipping over to the ground! It may look silly, but... well, it works. And it's also =necessary= at this point, considering her high degree of imbalance.
"Foo. So much for 'pacing' yourself!" shouts Sakura, rushing forward to with a punch at Xiangfei's throat! Though... if she's lucky, she'll be able to capitalize on the knockback from that punch, lunging forward with her palm -open-, whipping around to snare Xiangfei from behind and catch her in a nasty headlock, practically bending the kung-fu star over backwards to apply tight pressure to her throat. "C'mon, then! Let's see you get outta this one!" she boasts!

Xiangfei snickers lightly, and she grins to her friend, "Well Saku, that's one advantage to not having fought you, you've forgotten -some- of my tricks!" a wink is given to the girl before she strikes back, leaning back just a little to evade the first strike, and then slaps her palm against the offending 'set-up' arm, crouching and stepping away to oh-so-slippery get out of that potential problem! "Done and done," she chimes, granted she's a little suprised herself- Does a good job of hiding it though, just fluidly continuing her assault, granted this time she doesn't do anything very fancy; perhaps trying to wear down the girls guard with a quick flurry of strikes, first two jabs at the neckline, then low at the belt!

Smartass. Sakura is a bit miffed that she keeps, y'know, -not hitting- Xiangfei and all, but there's a thing her master's been trying to teach the impetuous schoolgirl: discipline! And it's that discipline that keeps her from trying to continue the strike after Xiangfei's clearly dodged it and all. That, and self-consciousness: it'd just look stupid, really!
It won't stop her from pouting lightly though. Spoiled brat. "Aaah... fine, then!" And when Xiangfei closes in with those two jab punches, Sakura snaps her left arm up to meet them, swatting the first two blows aside with only casual backpedalling. "I'll just try something else!"
And that she does -- crouching in anticipation, she takes the low blow on her shoulder instead of her belt -- but she's already in position for that 'something else.' That is to say, an uppercut rocketing up into Xiangfei's midsection, announced with a loud, almost masculine cry of "SHOOOOOU'OU KEN!" Sakura's version of the sure-kill leaping uppercut sends her flying upward, skirt and headband fluttering behind her with poetic grace.
They always say expect the unexpected.. But how the heck is someone supposed to do -that-? Xiangfei clearly felt she was safe with her quick combination but SUPRISE! Sakura is quicker! And -man- is that uppercut as painful as she always remembered, "OOOF!!"

She doubles over into the blow and is carried upward getting some killer Sky Miles on Sakura Air. She flips in the air though, managing to recover enough so she can land on her feet, swerving a bit, "Ow ow yeesh. Well I guess I had that coming," she mumbles, and she jumps forward, hand-springing again to close in the distance and attempts to slap her palm again against Sakura with staggering force. And if she can get that done, she dives at her, arms extended in sort of a clothesline, "Kyaaaah!!"

Kasugano scrambles to the side after landing from her Shou'ou Ken, giving her enough time to prepare an adequate defense. She does eye the handspring a bit oddly though... needless acrobatics? Beh! ... That =must= be her master talking, since the schoolgirl normally -grooves- on stuff like that. Hurriedly shaking her head to clear that tangent from her mind, she hops backward, snapping her left handguard into the path of Xiangfei's palm slap. "Yeah, you did, kinda! Guess you forgot about -my- killah moves, too!" Grinning (over)confidently, deftly leaps back from the flying lariat, hoping to see Xiangfei slam herself into the tile floor of the street-turned-shopping-arcade.
"Heh! It's too soon for that, LiX!" Landing with a tap-tap upon the floor, the schoolgirl curls her hands behind her. Lights and crackling noises emanate from her hands, as she calls out... "Shiiiinnkuu--"
And then quickly whips her hands forward anyway, bringing a =significantly= smaller fireball than the Shinkuu to bear on poor Xiangfei. "Jus'kiddin'! Hadooouken!"

Xiangfei cringes slightly, not looking all that happy about the giant fireball headed her way; and she .. Oh, well it wasn't as giant as she had anticipated! The chinese fighter claps her hands, but then changes her mind, instead attempting to outmaneuver the fireball at the very last moment, and waits a moment.. Too long, she's caught mid-leap, slammed by the energy that sends her tumbling back, and clutches at her stomach as she rolls back up to one knee, "... Dang, this sucks," she mumbles to herself, but it certainly wasn't time for the girl to give up! She sprints back at the schoolgirl again, and again she comes in with a whoooole lotta handsprings and backflips toward Sakura, gaining momentum for a rather big shoulder-rush at the end, hoping to bowl Sakura right over upon contact, "KAAAH!"

Flashy, flashy! Sakura grins, nodding. "That's it, that's the Xiangfei I know!" And for a moment there, Sakura's not sure what's coming next! Crouching low, she sweeps both arms in front of her defensively, shutting one eye for what she knows must be a Tenpou Zan...
Well, it's a shoulder rush, just not that flying one that hurts so darn much. "Wh... whoa," comments Sakura, rising back to her feet. "Thought for -sure- you woulda..." But she doesn't finish that statement, opting instead to step forward, whipping out a straight, direct kick to Xiangfei's chest. Xiangfei might not care about the view, but there's a chance the bystanders from Wendy's might drop their Frosty(tm) shakes from the sight of it. "YAAAAH!"

What's most unfortunate is that there's a whole lot of power it seems in that jumpkick, she ends up getting clipped and spins out, crashing to the floor rather ungraciously and a collective wince falls upon the watching audience.. Wow, that must have been really really embarassing.
But, not one to let such a thing ruin her, the chinese fighter shakily gets to her feet, holding her side as she pants a bit, "... This is really bad.." she mumbles to herself, clearly still ready to fight!
Well... Sakura didn't =intend= to jump into her kick, but it seems like her enthusiasm got the better of her! Though she was -awfully- worried when she saw the trademark dustcloud forming. It looks like her enthusiasm to put Xiangfei down paid off... "Heh... almost, there!"
Well, almost. Sakura seems a bit nervous at Xiangfei pushing back to her feet, but another moment or two sees a smile creeping back onto the schoolgirl's face. "That's the spirit!"
... And Sakura holds her ground, for some reason. Scared? Doesn't seem that way. Nope, Sakura's extending her hand out with a confident grin. "Now, the question is... is it 'too late' now?" And she stomps both feet on the ground, a whirlwind of blue energy whipping up around her, sending her skirt and headband into disarray. "Haaaaaaaa...."

Xiangfei gives a weak grin to Sakura, "Fair enough!" she shouts back, though truth be told she's thankful that the schoolgirl doesn't press on with her attack; she needed a plan and -fast-! So really, only one idea comes to mind, and that's 'mimic' Sakura! Her hands slap togeather, teeth grit as she splays her fingertips out once more, and with another, "HAH!!" the golden pillar of chi roars to life again, spinning and twirling about her small form, "Doesn't seem like it!" she shouts back. Come oooooon BULLET!

Sakura -was- expecting Xiangfei to meet her gesture with an attack. It's like... she was wide open for it, right? But then Xiangfei draws back and does the same thing as her. And Sakura just... flicks back a quirky grin. "Oh, hey... it's a game of Simon Says, now, is it?" Smug, ain't she? Well, all the blue-tinged energies slow their spiral upward, gradually drawing close to Sakura's hands as she curls them behind her. "Well... if that's the case... Simon says =HADOOOOOUKEN!=" Thrusting her palms forward, Sakura sends a gigantic mass of swirling blue chi hurtling forth at Xiangfei, hoping to quite possibly finish the Chinese fighter off this time.

Well, luckily for Xiangfei, it doesn't -seem- that Sakura is catching on to what the chinese fighter is up to just yet! But even still, Sakura's being half-cautious here, and understandably so; who KNOWS what kind of madness the Chinese girl is going to bust out with!
The problem, however, is trying to work AROUND Sakuras style at this point. She's still feeling a little sluggish, and running on a time clock! The fireball again slams into her chi, her extended palms assisting in holding off that blast until the chi dissipates, feet sliding a little from the impact, ".. More like Red Light/Green Light!" Xiangfei replies, takes in a small huff of air, and then storms forward once more, placing her chips on the table, make or break! Without the acrobatics she just charges in, whips out her fist and stops just short of impact, sliding along the ground, "HAH!" suddenly though, unseen impact just slams into the spot instead!

Aww. Sakura actually liked Simon Says better, but she'll get over it. Or perhaps more accurately, she'll get -around- it, as she leaps to the side, letting Xiangfei's unseen impact remain unfelt as well. "Whew... almost nabbed me with that one!" she comments as her sneakers squeal on the tile-paved street. "But it's time for us to -end- this, Xiangfei!" she calls out, having called Xiangfei's bet -- and raising the ante with her Cherry Blossom Fist! "SHOOOOO'OOOU KEN!" shouts the schoolgirl as she dashes forward at high speed, her form a blurred shade of blue as she blasts off towards Xiangfei, her fist plunging forth for Xiangfei's mid-torso.

Boy is there sweat forming on the brow of Xiangfei! "Yeah, you've got me on the ropes, Sakura!" she confesses, "But I'm not ready to end it just yet!" the legendary shou-ou Ken hot on her trail, at least this time she has a chance to defend against it, diving a bit to the side, and tumbles at the last moment away from Sakuras attack, and gives a small sigh of relief. This.. this was going to get really tricky, but so far so good!

Sakura sets her jaw as her fearsome Shou'ou Ken whiffs completely past Xiangfei without a trace... heck, she thought she'd be able to land it! It seems she's mistaken yet again, but that's one of the things Sakura likes most about fighting Xiangfei. It's always a fun fight!
Of course, she's at a bit of a disadvantage when she's landing, what with Xiangfei sliding in with a kick juuuust at that very moment. Dropping to a crouch, she groans lightly from the kick to the shin... but she seems to be holding steady for the backfist that follows. Notably, she catches the backfist in her right palm, grabbing hold! "Yuu--" Pivoting forward in the same fluid movement, she strikes her left palm at the back of Xiangfei's elbow, aiming to pop her elbow in the opposite of the way it's intended to! Not, like, breaking it or anything, just puttin' some pressure on it! "-chatta!"
That wily, crafy Kasugano! She's always got a trick or two up her sleeve; but Xiangfei is both flabbergasted and impressed with how the schoolgirl manages to nail her with another counter of sorts on what she thought was a pretty quick combination!
The chinese fighter is brought to her knee from the rather painful hold, "RRRGH!" she yelps, patting at her shoulder (despite that part not being the one there's pressure one!), and she sways a little; crap is this it? Can she somehow make this last move count?
Sucking it up, the Heavenly Hip-Hop Honey makes a last-ditch effort on laying down some pain with her families special attack; and she handn't had to use it in some time now! Her free arm lashes inward, fingers curled into claws and she strikes Sakuras sternum with a paralysis technique.

Well while she may not have given the strike as she had intended, her palm -does- open and releases a large blast of Chi at the street fighter, the blast not a ball, but instead spike shaped, "HYAAAAAAH!"
Sakura doesn't know what to think -- that shoulda =hurt=, right? She'd stepped back away from Xiangfei thinking the match was over, only to see Xiangfei skirting the line of consciousness yet again! Curling back from that initial strike, Sakura nonetheless manages to meet it at the last second with her open palm, stepping back to allow the battle of wills begin! A bright flare of blue chi erupts from her palms, ebbing and swelling in sync with Xiangfei's spike... but just as Kasugano senses it fading, she leaps into action! No weak attacks this time, though... she balls her right fist and rams it right at Xiangfei's chin! "SHOOOU'OU KEN!!"
Egads! Well, Xiangfei is certainly a persistant fighter, isn't she? She is just -determined- to make up for her 'wrecklessness' before, and well? She's actually coming to terms with it at this point, despite Sakura's absolutly astounding fighting style! There's only a squeak of suprise when Sakura actually bursts from her technique with a really painful uppercut, but this time- She doesn't go -flying- back but she does stagger one step and looks to be staggering for a second step, "Rrrggh!!" no ma'am, she regains her balance quickly sort of, swaying back and forth as if about to fall over, but then suddenly 'wakes up', darting forward and delivers a flurry of backhands toward the schoolgirls gut, "Hwaaaa-tatatatatataAAAO!" about 6 in total before she collapses to the ground, falling onto her side.

Unfortunately for Xiangfei, Sakura's on top of her game today. She cuts her Shou'ou Ken short once she notices Xiangfei's still standing, and takes two quick steps backwards, raising her hands in fists. "Hey, you're still standin' an' all!" she comments -- just before Xiangfei pours on one final burst of speed and delivers those backhands. "Wh...whoa!" notes Sakura, bringing both hands out to stop those powerful strikes from slamming into her, each hit dulled by a gentle touch. It's wearing Sakura out like crazy -- heck, she pants with each block -- but in the end, it proves to be enough, and the Taiyo schoolgirl leaps backwards to safety. "C...cool, I didn't think you had it in ya!" she comments, shaking her hands out to the side. "Eeesh, that stung!"

Xiangfei props herself up, and the exhaustion that she had completely ignored before just coming back in a rush, and she's unable to get back to her feet this time, the girl in a bit of shock, but also grinning a little as she shakes her head, ".. Rats.. Y.. You were on your 'A' game today, I 'kin see.. how you did so well against Chun-Li." she confesses, holding her side again with her free arm. Not much else to say about that, she's clearly impressed, not many people can withstand her just bouncing back! But that said, the winner is declared, and it's another match for the record books!
