Description: Mimiru and Hotaru league fight--but Mimiru doesn't have Max around to help her out! Where -could- that dog be...? (Winner: Hotaru)
Max might have not come back yet home and Mimiru might have been searching for him for some time but... Life must go on! Mimiru knows that Max'll come back pretty soon! So, even though she doesn't have her fighting partner, she decides that it's time for her to try and rely on her own strength. Try to have a look at how things are and if she can handle herself on her own. Mimiru hums softly and she bites her lips, idly stretching about. At the very least this fight will change her mind!
It may be an official fight but it's also an occasion for Mimiru and Hotaru to train. Whoever the winner is on this fight, one thing is certain, they'll get more league points! Mimiru glances over to Hotaru and she grins, offering her a thumbs up, "Heh girl!"
Hotaru is initially surprised to have gotten the word that Mimiru wanted a league fight, and even more so that she would do so without Max... as Mimiru has often said, Max is like a part of her, and Hotaru certainly understands that. But she knows also that Mimiru wants to be stronger, and so many this is a 'first step' as well... learning to be strong all by herself. For that alone, Hotaru would agree to fight Mimiru... and as much as this is a league fight it is also a sparring match between two friends.
"Mimiru-san," she replies, with a smile, "Show me a fight that would make Max proud..."

Lips curling into a wide grin, Mimiru hits her right hand with her left fist and her lips curl into a wide grin, "Ah! Don't worry, I'm as strong as ever! I'll show you The Super Way Of Mimiru at its fullest, even if Max isn't here to give me a hand!" Mimiru nods to Hotaru.
Hotaru smiles, genuinely, at Mimiru's proclamation of strength; she nods, knowing that it's probably just as true as Mimiru wants it to be.
"Well then, Mimiru-san, let's test that!" she cries, just after the announcer finishes his announcements and then turns to the flat arena, and shouts, "FIGHT!"
On cue, Hotaru suddenly hopdashes forward, whirling herself forward, striking with spinning arms; she comes around once, striking with both arms, and half-rotates again to face forward; as she does, her left hand strikes out with a strong palm thrust, right arm poised cocked back behind her and up. As she attacks, she shouts out, "Sou-Shou Shin!"

Arching a brow, Mimiru nods to Hotaru and she lifts her arms up, raising her guard and getting ready for this. Without Max, Mimiru's not feeling as confident but she tries to shrug off the feeling. With the canine being away after all, she doesn't have any kind of cushion to help her if she's in trouble! No matter, she tries to chase away the thought of her canine friends and despite her best efforts, Mimiru doesn't manage to keep her full focus on the battle at hand.
Mimiru shakes her head and she tries to use her fancy-footsteps to actually get out of the way of that one by rushing out of the way and swifly avoiding the strikes from Hotaru's arms... But the fact she fails to avoid the first hit definately doesn't help her for the others as she's always a second too late. She grunts a bit and she staggers back, forced up into a somewhat weak defensive stances as she gets hit by the palm thrusts and her arms.
"Playing rough, eh?" Mimiru says, sticking her tongue out some, "Well! I'm not going to give in just yet!" She shouts as she hurls her fist over to Hotaru.

Whoops! That punch looks pretty fast, so instead of trying to avoid it Hotaru blocks the heck out of it. Well, ok, so she intercepts with a forearm and brushes it aside. "Good form, Mimiru-san!" she says, spinning in the direction she brushed the punch, or rather twisting, bringing her other arm around in a quick, open-handed backhand strike, leaning forward slightly.
"But it's too early to be beating me yet!" As for playing rough--well--even Hotaru knows you can't learn if you aren't presented with real challenges.

It can't go wrong for Mimiru all the time! The girl's lips curl into a grin as she switches on the offensive and this time, she doesn't intend to leave herself open. When Hotaru's backhand comes her way, Mimiru grins and she attempts to lift her arm up to block the incoming strike yet... It passes right over her and Hotaru manages to land the backhand strike on her. Mimiru staggers some not to lose her balance, shaking her head a bit. She heaves a sigh and then tries to, at the very least, calm herself and get back into gears. Is she getting rusty? Who knows!
"Well then! Guess I'll have to go for a little bit better stuff!" She shouts. Her fist then bursts out into chi and Mimiru chuckles a little, "Have a taste of The Super Way Of Mimiru...! Suuuuper Mimiru Punch!!" She shouts as she sends her fist over toward Hotaru's midsection, the chi around her fist surging out into a blast of force just as her fist seems to connect.

Even though she's ready for it, Hotaru still lets out a strong "oof!" as the wave of force pushes her back a little. She grunts, though, seeking to grab Mimiru by the shoulders as the girl's recovering--if she grabs, Hotaru will propel herself up and -over- Mimiru, giving the girl a little stomp on the shoulder as she takes a couple of running steps to get away and behind the girl.

Ouch... Mimiru attempts to do something against that, try to soften Hotaru's grapple and the stomps she gets but in the end she fails to do anything of the sort. Mimiru grunts a little and she winces. Things aren't looking good for her! But it doesn't matter! Because the Super Way Of Mimiru teaches never to give up no matter what and so, Mimiru forces herself back to her feet and she says, "Bah, guess I'll have to get more hardcore now!" She admits.
And with that, Mimiru rushes over Hotaru and she leaps up in the air, attempting to catch Hotaru off guard with a super flying kick aimed right at her midsection.

Apparently Mimiru has, as they say, 'gotten more hardcore'; that flying kick tags Hotaru right in the breadbasket and she coughs in pain and staggers back. "Oof..." she says, once recovered, grinning and rubbing the spot.
"And that, Mimiru-san, was a good kick!" she cries. The initial exchange of blows over with, Hotaru gets a little more serious; chi concentrates in her right palm, causing the extremity to glow briefly, until Hotaru thrusts the hand forward, at Mimiru, the pulse of life-energy coalescing into a white-blue ball that speeds on its way, headed for the form of Mimiru.

Things aren't looking well for Mimiru. Definately not well. Mimiru barely has the time to get back on her feet that Hotaru's powering up her ball of chi energy. Mimiru bites her lips and she glances about idly, not quite having the time to do much of anything else aside from getting blasted by that ball of energy, which one hurls her off some distance away. Mimiru winces and she growls, squirms a little and writhing a bit in pain on the ground. There's being optimistic and being realistic... At this point Mimiru doesn't give herself much odds of winning but still! Panting softly, Mimiru forces herself back to her feet and she sticks her tongue out, "Huh... Yeah... Well... Heh... Good fight I guess, you just own me totally so far..." Mimiru tries to straighten herself up and she charges on Hotaru, attempting to give her a chop of her forearm across her chest.

Hotaru winces, seeing how badly Mimiru gets blasted by the Hakki Shou--it drops her guard for a moment, as her worries for her teammate and friend compound. What does that mean? It means that Mimiru clips her in the chest with that forearm, throwing Hotaru to the ground as though she were just clotheslind.
"UNGH!" she says, as she hits the ground, rolling to her feet immediately thereafter.
"Have to watch you, you're still dangerous, even now..." Hotaru crouches, then rises, kicking out and up with her left leg, creating a sweeping field of chi that bursts almost out of nowhere--the attack accompanied with a sharp, precise kiai to help Hotaru focus.

"Yeah... You might hit hard but I'm not done yet!" Mimiru affirms, straightening herself up slight as she attempts to shrug off the pain she got from that fairly quick beating she's got. Unfortunately, that's not enough to help her cause. Mimiru's eyes widen a little and she attempts to move away, but Hotaru's repeated hits have simply served to weaken Mimiru enough to make it even harder for her to dodge.
Not only that but she just happens to get everything wrong and Hotaru even hits her just where it hurts. Or rather, that field of chi definately hurts Mimiru a lot. The girl lets out a slight scream and she takes a step or two back before falling on her back. She could stand up and try one last time but...! Well at this point, she'll only ending up getting hurt more. She heaves a sigh and lies back, "Ah... You beat me there..."

Immediately, Hotaru is by Mimiru's side, helping her up. "Ah... I'm sorry, Mimiru-san," she says, quietly, ignoring the announcer and his hyperbole--and the cameras and all that jazz too.
"But--you did well to fight without Max by your side," she says, firmly. Fighting when worried about a loved one, even a pet, is difficult at best.
"It isn't a matter of training... at least, not physical training... but I bet you knew that already, huh?" Hotaru smiles, getting to her feet, confident Mimiru will bounce back.

Mimiru hums and she arches a blow, glancing up at Hotaru. She blinks a few times, shaking her head, "Oh, no, no... You just really got me there, you're good Hotaru." Mimiru says with a nod. She grins and she forces herself back slowly but surely, "You don't have to justify my defeat or something..."
A frown, and a light bop on the head, for Mimiru. From Hotaru. "Silly, I'm not trying to do any such thing. I know how hard it can be to be worried--about someone..." And Mimiru -knows- Max loves her. Hotaru isn't so sure about her brother... that jerk.
"Anyways, what do you say we go get a snack...?"
