Neo League 126 - #148: Kim vs Shenwoo

Description: Shenwoo vs Kim!! Who will win, crazy man or... crazy man?! Watch, as Kim Kaphwan gets the stuffing beat out of him as if he were something specifically made for stuffing-beatings!! (Winner: Shenwoo)

Behold... Merry Olde England! Once upon a time, the center of the greatest empire the world had ever seen; now, little more than the quaint setting of books about magical kids.

Well, okay, so it's still an important part of world culture and economy, whatever. /Books about wizards/!

Today, though, the city of London plays host to a totally awesome League battle. A fight that will go down in the history books! At least, potentially; the country where it rains a lot but almost never snows plays host to the first-ever battle between the self-styled 'God of Battle', Shenwoo... And arguably the greatest Taekwondo master in the world, South Korea's favourite son, Kim Kaphwan! At least, that's what the announcer calls him over the loudspeaker, here in the Jubilee Gardens, with the enormous London Eye observation wheel serving as their backdrop. It's after dark, with the park's lights, and the Eye's, serving to keep the fighters, League personnel, and of course the spectators beyond the barricades that have been set up here in the Jubilee Gardens, able to see what's happening quite clearly indeed..

Shenwoo, standing at one corner of the 'ring' that's been set up, is finishing off a nice, shiny red apple as he waits for the fight proper to begin, because there's no point in starting a fight on an empty stomach, now is there? He's not really paying much attention to the announcer, though he does take note of the crowd, at least... But the bulk of his attention, well, he's going to save that for his opponent, who's certainly been on a winning streak in the League, hasn't he?

England. Rains a lot. People with bad teeth have polite arguments over tea. They make fairy tale books about mages or something. None of that matters. Forget all of it. Because today, the face of England is about to be changed... FOREVER. Why, you ask?
Because most epic ass kicking is about to ensue!!

Korea's favored son has fought here once before. Well, not /here/ exactly, but in England, against the boxer Heavy D!. He finds himself here again as current head of the League, but it doesn't bother him much. Win or lose -- he's just here to have a fun fight! The points? They don't matter to him at all. As long as the fights prove to be exciting and well-fought. And fighting someone who calls themself the "God of Battle" is certainly an exciting prospect, so it's here that Kim Kaphwan, master of Tae Kwon Do, finds himself. Except --
Where IS Kim?
"OOOOORRRRRYAAAAAA!!"
It comes from above. Kim enters the scene with all the flair he's known for, flipping through the air to land in the would-be 'ring' -- in splits, complete with a wing grin that *pings*. "Mr. Shenwoo! It's a great to meet you! I'm Kim Kaphwan. Please... put your very best into the match, okay?!" And it's from there that Kim will hop right back onto his feet, in a more combat-ready stance and a grin.

Well, that's certainly an attitude Shenwoo can respect: It /is/ all about the fun of the fight. Of testing your strength against another person's...! Finishing off his apple just in time to see Kim's dramatic entrance, Shenwoo pitches the core into a nearby trash can, and then he starts pulling on his gloves, with a chuckle. "Heh, you're a pretty flashy one, huh?" he says, grinning wolfishly. His gloves are pulled tightly in place, and then he slips his heavy metal ring onto his left hand, before assuming his own fighting stance, a relaxed boxing position. "Let's make this fun!" the self-styled 'God of Battle' declares, and then wouldn't you know it? The moment the word 'FIGHT!' leaves the announcer's lips, Shenwoo's leading leg tenses slightly... And then he takes off like a shot right at the Taekwondo master, throwing his left fist forward in a rushing punch, his unbuttoned shirt flapping behind him as he crosses the distance between himself and Kim in the blink of an eye. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"

Let's make this fun? "Of course!!" Kim gives a ncie and wide grin, even as he prepares to face the worst of Shenwoo's assault. Except -- Shenwoo moves /fast/. Kim is hardly expecting the man to come in so swiftly, and so he hardly has time to react before the punch lands squarely on his chest. Kim goes flying -- rather far, at that, before he lands some distance away from Shenwoo on his feet. Whoo! That stung more than a little bit! But he's grinning, that's for sure, his feet sliding out before he rushes towards Shenwoo. "OOOOORRRYYAAAAAAAAAAA!!" And as soon as he's halfway there, he LEAPS into the air, coming down on the God of Battle with a series of rapid-fire bicycle-kicks meant to strike the man's upperbody relentlessly before launching off a final kick to knock him into the ground, and send Kim flying away from the man.

COMBATSYS: Shenwoo blocks Kim's Hishou Kyaku.

That's a mistake a lot of people have made... Few fighters expect someone the likes of Shenwoo to move so quickly, and in a lot of ways it's his unconventional abilities, rather than his physical power, that is his greatest strength. The brawler, however, isn't about to let Kim have his way with those kicks, and while for a moment he considers trying to avoid them entirely, instead he puts up his guard, letting those bicycle kicks smack against his tattooed forearms. It still hurts, sure, but it could be a lot worse. The final, launching kick just makes Shen skid back a bit, while Kim does indeed leap away, but Shenwoo is on the other fighter in an instant, grinning wildly. "Ha ha!" he laughs, and then lashes out with both fists at once in a simultaneous punch to the TKD master's chest!

COMBATSYS: Shenwoo successfully hits Kim with Strong Punch.

OOPH! Apparantly, Kim isn't fast enough to see that punch coming. Again. And though it does move someone slowly -- a lot more slowly -- than the last attack, is still manages to slip past his guard and nail him right in the chest again. He goes flying once more, just like before, but still manages to land on his knees -- before he rushes towards Shenwoo, unhindered by the pain he's feeling. His intent is to rush forward, and then spin a single foot through the air, snapping it towards the side of Shenwoo's head. He does it once, and the again, and one final time before jerking his foot back with a wide smile. "HUUUAH!"

COMBATSYS: Shenwoo interrupts Light Kick from Kim with Tenrenshou.

Clearly, Shenwoo isn't someone who should be underestimated! Then again, he's the sort of person who goes around challenging the likes of Ryu and Sagat, so maybe he's just that much crazier than even Kim. Perhaps madness is the secret to power! Back in his loose boxing stance after Kim flies back, the brawler from Shanghai stands there, watching Kim come at him again with that leaping kick... And what does Shen do? Does he try to block it? Try to avoid it? No, he stands there, and gets hit with the first kick, before thrusting his /own/ leg out at a surprisingly high angle, striking Kim to knock him away before he can continue the combination, Shenwoo stumbling back a few steps afterwards. "Heheh..." Yeah, some boxer Shenwoo is, kicking people.

Not that Kim is underestimating the man in the slightest, though. Today simply doesn't seem to be the Korean's day. Not that it's going to stop HIM though. Nope, Kim still charges in, even when he's struck under the jaw with that kick. If this isn't his day, he'll just try to make it his! So, even though he goes stumbling back, Kim still pushes forward almost immediately after, leaping at Shenwoo with his elbow and knee jut out to strike him in face and chest, respectively. "KYAAAAA!!" Letting loose the battle cry of enthusiastic Justice-obsessed Tae Kwon Do Master Korean's everywhere, and FLINGING himself forward!

And that's another attitude Shenwoo would respect, if he knew about it... Hell, the fact that Kim's still got the spirit to keep coming despite the fact that those attacks of Shenwoo's seemed quite punishing impresses the brawler. Besides, he'd hate to be bored. Shen tries to duck out of the way of the incoming elbow and knee, but it doesn't avail him any, and instead he gets struck, staggering backwards with a hand to his face. Shen actually laughs again, turning around and throwing out one hand to try and grab Kim by the throat before he can get away, then keep turning to... Chuck the other man into one of the barricades. "ORA!!"

COMBATSYS: Shenwoo successfully hits Kim with Strong Throw.

Well... Shenwoo does grasp onto Kim's throat, but when he tosses him? The Korean lands on those barricades feet-first, absorbing the brunt of the damage -- but not all of it. It's enough, at least, to keep him going for now. Again, he pushes off the barricades so that he can come flying at Shenwoo, legs jutting out to either side of him. "OOOORYAAAAA!!" And once he's close enough, he'll flip through the air, and smash one foot into the back of Shenwoo's head, and then the other, intent on landing in splits after all is said and done. He's not out yet!

COMBATSYS: Kim successfully hits Shenwoo with Hangetsu Zan.

What the crap, over! Shenwoo's dark eyes widen for a moment, impressed at Kim's sudden show of acrobatics, and either because of that or simply the speed of the Korean's attack, Shenwoo is unable to escape in time, getting quite soldly hit by those kicks. "Ha ha ha ha!" Shen laughs, shaking his head for a moment to clear the cobwebs out. "Good! GOOD!! But...!" He twists on a heel, and for a moment dust kicks up, before once again Shenwoo is rocketing straight at the Taekwondo fighter, this time moving so fast that his figure blurs, his left fist thrown forward again to try and strike Kim in the head, but now he's surrounded by a shockwave of energy!! "I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!!"

COMBATSYS: Shenwoo successfully hits Kim with Zetsu Gekiken.

Just getting started?
Whelp, Kim is pretty much done.
Kim just isn't fast enough, doesn't have a good enough guard; whatever it is, he's just not ready enough to intercept Shenwoo and his blow, just like he wasn't ready for any of the man's other attacks. This has been rather short, and with all these blows, Kim just can't keep up. The hit strikes him solidly in the head, he goes flying, again, landing on the ground this time. It takes him a moment, but eventually he claws himself up to his feet... and then just freaking jumps at Shenwoo. "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" With a single jump-kick, aimed straight at the man's chest. It's slower than normal, but still; he's got on last gung-ho.

And then Kim goes flying right past Shenwoo and crashes, unconscious. Bam. "Hu...ah." Thunk.

Well, everyone has off days, right? Shenwoo's had oodles of them, himself, but it's not very often he's on the 'benefitting' end of somebody else's. The Zetsu! Gekiken is a frighteningly fast attack, of course, and it's true that there's been a lot of hard hits back and forth... Though the harder by far seem to be the ones hitting Kim. The jump kick aimed his way gives Shenwoo pause, but he can see how the Korean fighter's movements have slowed, and, hands at his side, Shenwoo slips out of the way of the kick with a sudden burst of speed, and then Kim is out like a light. "Huh," mutters the berserker, even as he's being announced the winner by result of knockout, and raising a fist in acknowledgement of the crowd and his win. "We'll have to see how things go next time," he says towards the unconscious Kim, as the medical teams rush out to check on the downed fighter.
