It's time to turn his luck around. After fighting two draws with Sagat and Shingo -- neither of which garnered any benefit -- Rock's ready to go at something with everything he has. The site? The top of an ancient step-pyramid, which has been swiftly turned into a fighting arena. The edges have been cordoned off with rope, and camera crews have been put into place to catch the action in full.
Rock, meanwhile, is present already, his jacket discarded in favor of the hot weather down here in the Southern Hemisphere, his hands on his hips as he waits for his foe.
And who is Rock's foe? He has yet to arrive yet. Even as Rock waits in the sweltering heat, there's no sign of his opponent today. --Well, visibly, at least.
"HUUUAAAH!!"
From that battle-cry alone, it should be obvious who Rock is facing. If not, it soon becomes readily apparant as a white-gi clad form LEAPS over the camera crews and actually /lands/ on one of those cameras, for a brief second, before flipping off and landing some distance from Rock on his knees. And slowly... the face of Kim Kaphwan, Korea's hero, looks up to Rock with the bright flash of a grin.
"Are you ready?"

Rock steps into his combat stance, eyes set on Kim as he arrives. He's about to fight the world's greatest master of Tae Kwon Do; it's not something to be taken lightly. He's on his feet, bobbing right and left as he prepares for the fight. "Yeah," he says flatly. "I was practically born ready," he adds confidently, red eyes focusing on Kim with a cool determination. "Bring it on."

Born ready? Good! Rock's confidence means this is going to be a fun fight! Still grinning, Kim nods once as he gets into a full stand, legs spreading out easily as he takes his opponent into consideration. "Alright then!" His legs tense. "Let's both give it our all!" And that's when Kim rushes forward, leaping through the air when he is halfway to Rock. As he descends, his legs curl up... before unleashing themselves upon the young Howard in a series of rapid-fire bicycle kicks. "HYA!!"

Rock's forearms rise upwards to turn aside the majority of Kim's hit. He's got a solid defense, and he's able to deflect at least half the damage. Plus, Kim's impact pushes Rock back on his feet at least six inches by the time he breaks his own defense and takes a step back and away, leaving plenty of room for him to gain momentum for a counterattack; it's precisely what he does, raising an elbow and dashing into range to deliver a chi-blazing strike right to Kim's face. It's sudden and it's brutal, and it's hopefully enough to throw Kim for a loop.

The moment Kim leaps away from Rock and ends his assault, it seems the Lone Wolf's apprentice is coming at him with an attack of his own, sudden and brutal. The Tae Kwon Do champ's eyes snap wide for a brief moment before he yanks his arms up suddenly to defend against the assault. His arms absorb much of the impact, faltering back only a little bit before his feet press /firmly/ into the ground. From there, Kim lashes out with his right leg, to catch Rock in the ribcage with a snap kick, before leaping up to smack his left foot up against the crimson-eyed young man's jaw. "KYAA!"

Rock is struck firmly by that iteration of Kim's attacks, his body slammed to the side by the sheer offensive force that's behind Kim's legs. But just being struck doesn't stop him from pressing his offensive; the moment Kim pauses, Rock sails forward with a leap, dropping his fist straight down on Kim with a downwards punch. As he does so, a massive wing of sheer chi blooms from his right shoulderblade, propelling him forward and onto his head even faster than otherwise.

Holy--!! That technique is incredible. Kim's stares in disbelief as a /wing of chi/ just grows out of Rock's back, but he doesn't have time to stare in awe. Instead, he quickly pushes /off/ the ground so that he leaps above Rock, landing behind the teenage fighter just as he finishes his technique. "That's incredible...!" He compliments the young man, before he snaps his hand forward, intent on smacking it into the back of Rock's head quickly, to knock him off balance, followed by a quick snap-kick to Rock's left side. "Oryaa!!"

Rock grits his teeth, taking another blow hard on the chin as he just can't weave his way around Kim or Kim's incredible offensive power. He's hardly out of tricks, though. Rock's footwork pulls him back and around Kim, reaching out to seize an arm and throw Kim over onto the floor, using his own body as the fulcrum to drive him into the ground.

It seems that Kim just isn't fast enough this time. Though he moves, he doesn't /quite/ get out of the way of Rock's strike. Instead, he falters and is slammed into the ground with something of and 'OOPH!', wincing a little before he leaps back onto his feet. He's quick to attack again though -- even as Rock straightens from his throw, Kim lifts a single foot into the air, and then SLAMS it into the ground with a great deal of intensity, causing the rock of the pyramid around them to shake violently in the wake of a miniature, localized earthquake, meant to knock Rock right onto the ground.

Rock's back on top of his game again, at least mostly; his hands rise to shield his face, giving him a few precious moments of cover and protection. "Yeah," he says, eagerly, arms absorbing the force of the blow. "That's a nice shot... but I've got more than that for you, pal. Here I come!" And he means it; Rock immediately seeks to belt his opponent in the face with a punch, swinging hard and fast.

Rock is coming towards him with a punch that can only mean pain. Kim can see that much. But in the briefest of moments, before that punch connects? The Korean's brown eyes narrow, filled with /determination/. KOREAN determination! So that, when Rock's fist collides... it collides with Kim's feet. The Korean has lept into the air, falling decidedly on Rock's fist for the briefest of moment's before springboarding off it in a flip, legs jutting out to either side of him as he has every intention of smacking Rock with not one, but both of his feet, before landing on the ground solidly in splits! "HUUUAAAAH!!"

"Not yet!" Rock has no intention of letting Kim reach the floor with his devastating kick. As Kim comes down from above, Rock prepares to greet his opponent, both hands rising into the air to catch Kim and snatch all of his force and momentum right out from under him. The result is Kim, tumbling towards the ground, his attack suddenly broken. ... Just in time for Rock to come forth like a hurricane, lunging forward and drilling straight down with a kick of his own. "CRACK!"
Hurk! Kim's more surprised than hurt that his attack was suddenly shoved to the side with such ease, really. He goes flying as the kick connects, landing a small distance away from Rock in a crouch, catching his breath only briefly before giving his opponent a thumbs up and a grin. "Great!!" It really was! And with that, Kim wastes no time rushing towards Rock, intent on leaping through the air and catching Rock by the shoulders, before throwing him further down the steps of the pyramid. "UUUAAAH!!"

"Not bad," Rock declares, thrown up in the air but able to right himself before he falls, landing on his feet. He's upright, but the landing was at least a little harsh, that much is apparent. He manges to stop himself short of the steps of the pyramid, wobbling just a little before he leans forward. "You're everything Terry said you were -- and more! You're not getting old like they say you are... no, you're getting better, aren't you? You haven't hit your peak yet!" He says this even as he reaches out to snare Kim by the back of his pants, a quick 'whip' movement meant to throw /him/ down the steps of the pyramid to someplace lower than his own location.

The legendary Tae Kwon Do champ allows himself a moment to grin at Rock's words, giving a shrug of his shoulders. "I think I still have a ways to go until I reach my peak! Age doesn't mean everything, after all; it's hard work that really counts!" And Rock, well-- "You're a great fighter yourself! You should be proud; Terry's taught you well, hasn't he?" He stops his complimenting, though, as soon as Rock rushes at him. His pants are grabbed securely and he's sent soaring through the air, but when he lands -- he lands hands first, in a stand. The brunt of the damage absorbed through his arms, Kim leaps up onto his feet, before making another leap -- right towards Rock, intent on smashing his elbow into the younger man's sternum. "HYAAAAAAA!!"

When Kim comes forth on Rock with all the power of a steam engine, he's starting something up -- he's going to protect himself. But something goes wrong. Real wrong, and it just doesn't come together. Not in time, anyways. Kim nails Rock, sending him backwards on his feet and onto his behind, where he tumbles just a little bit before coming back up onto his feet.
Well, whatever Rock was preparing, it's a good thing Kim didn't know about it. His blow connects firmly, sending the young Howard stumbling back and down. But, it seems he's quick to recover, to which Kim gives a bright smile and a nod before he leaps at Rock again, intent on smacking His right foot to Rock's head not once, but three times, in rapid succession. "HYAA!!"

Rock takes each one of these kicks, in a fashion that is almost... intentional? Maybe -- But whatever the case is, when Kim's blitz of blows are concluded, Rock is ready to come back with something similar. Rock clasps both of his hands together, constructing a 'hammer' on the fly. Steadying himself against the ground, Rock waits for the last of Kim's strikes to conclude before he swings, wide and stright, right into Kim's face. "Try this!"

Take that? No thank you! It looks rather harsh, to tell the truth! And so, Kim swiftly moves to the side as that 'hammer' comes barreling towards hm, a single side-step sending him /just/ out of the path of Rock's assault, and still in close enough range to continue his own strike. With one, fluid motion, Kim intends to send a single knee RIGHT into Rock's gut. "HUAAH!!" And if it's successful? One leap sends Kim into the air, to snap a kick to the back of Rock's head, intent on sending him straight to the ground.

Rock's goal, at this point, is simple: Even this fight out. Get back on top. Kim is using his advantage to take a breather. Crush that underfoot. And that's precisely what Rock begins to do, once again catching Kim's knee straight ahead and launching himself forward to drop his leg on the shoulder of the TKD ace, trying to hit him for as much of an injury as he can manage.
Hrm. Again, his technique is completely thrown aside. Kim's eyes narrow just faintly before that leg falls heavily on his shoulder. Kim staggers back from the blow, rubbing his shoulder with a slight grimace, but he's hardly down for long. Instead, he rushes straight towards Rock once more, eyes filled with determination as he /leaps/ towards the Howard, intent on hitting the young man with not one, but two roundhouse kicks, finishing it up with an overhead axe-kick meant to smash the young man into the ground. "UURYAA!!"

This isn't going well for Rock. Not at all. He needs to do something to turn this around, and he needs to do that something fast. Now, in fact, if at all possible: And that's precisely what he attempts to do. Under the constant, steady assault from Kim, Rock flattens his arms and legs, hitting the ground and abruptly /exploding/ into an inferno of sheer power and chi. The twisting whirlwind of energy is enough to strip paint from steel and steel from skeleton, and is angling to catch Kim point-blank.

What the...!!
It goes without saying, at this point Kim's eyes have snapped /wide/ open with shock at the sudden explosion of power that Rock displays. All that chi comes at him so fast, there's nothing he can do to get out of the way. Instead, Kim does what he can -- his arms snap forward to block the storm of energy and fury, forced back nutold amount of feet as rock churns underneath the firm hold of his legs. He can't disperse it, but... Kim does a damn fine job of just DEFENDING until it all fades away. And then? There's no time for compliments, though he's clearly impressed. Kim RUSHES at Rock, intent on driving an elbow and knee into face and chest with astounding swiftness. "HUUAH!!"

Rock takes another hit, this one even more brutal than the last. He just can't go anywhere. Nowhere at all. Rock tries to keep himself steady, lips curling as he fixes his attention on Kim. "Dammit!"
With those blows connecting, Kim leaps back, slapping his hands together. He falls some distance away from Rock, higher up on the pyramid, before giving a brief nod. "Alright!! I'm going to go all out!" And that's about when... Kim LEAPS at Rock, moving at /incredible/ speeds. But what might be most important of all to note is the fact...
"HUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!"
Kim is flying towards Rock /upside down/ with every intent of slamming his foot /right/ into the back of Rock's skull.

The second Kim knocks Rock's head with his kick, he lands on the ground. Before the young man can fall to the ground, though, Kim assaults him with a straight veritcle kick, to launch him into the air. And then another, and another, and another... a series of jumping kicks that send Rock higher and higher and higher into the air, the force behind it merciless. And when Rock has been knocked the final time, Kim leaps into the air... and slams two spinning kicks into the young man's chest with a mighty "HUUAH!!", sending Terry's apprentice /crashing/ to the ground with him soon to follow, in a crouch.
