Description: A psycho-doll and a Taiyo schoolgirl square off on top of a Mayan pyramid in Mexico. The worst thing that can happen? Falling off, which both of them do. (Draw Match)
Another exotic location Juli never expected to find herself, and yet the instructions were clear: Juli's next league fight is against a girl she doesn't know, and in a place she would hardly consider a place for a fight. Standing in the middle of a clearing in deep jungle, Juli eyes the large pyramid structure in front of her. Well over 3 stories tall with steep chiseled steps for an ascent, getting up to the platform's going to be hard enough. She can only imagine the ordeal it would take to stay .on. the platform. It's definately going to be a close fight.
But, Juli's made out of tougher stuff than that. The girl gives the small platform at the top of the pyramid a lingering look, then bows to the inevitable. In order to have a fight on top of the ruin, she'll need to get .on. the ruins. A detached grunt, then Juli starts the slow descent upwards.
"Yahooooo!" echoes a cry from the dense jungle surrounding the massive stepped stone pyramid, loud and sudden enough to send a cloud of colorful birds squawking into the air wondering what all the fuss is about and why someone would go around shouting in their nice peaceful jungle. A blur of white and pleasant blue shoots past the trudging Juli, straight toward the steps with an absurd of amount of energy for a humid Central American forest.
Hinata is all but a blur of fast-moving legs. An immense and intimidating stone edifice with about two hundred steps? All the more reason to see how fast she can climb them all without stopping! In ubiquitous Taiyo High uniform, without even so much as a decorate pith helmet or anything, the Wakaba girl climbs the pyramid two steps at a time, twirling halfway up to look down the steep slope at Juli and continue up the stairs... backwards. "You don't look like a tourist!" she says, firm grasp on the obvious. "And the odds of two people climbing this ridiculous thing at the same time seem pretty remote so... I guess *I* know why you're here!" The girl beams as brightly as the pounding sun overhead, now more than three-quarters up the entire length of the stairs. Without waiting for an answer, she turns and continues up, disappearing over the top and onto the small platform space at the top. It's not very large, is it? Hmm.. probably only fifteen feet square. And an awful drop downwards on every side.
Oh, she gets to fight one of those chipper types. Undoubtedly, she's going to get an earfull of 'buuuuusta misaiiiru!' or whatever it is they excited ones end up screaming in the middle of a fight. "You are Hinata. I am Juli. We are opponents during this fight." Juli returns in way of introduction. Even in the middle of climbing this thing, Juli's voice remains a quiet monotone, such a contrast to the eager girl she's facing. Likewise, she isn't running up the stairs backwards or on her hands, or anything else than a straight ahead gaint that puts more of the stairs beneath her with each step.
So she actually beats HInata up the stairs, giving her a moment to eye the platform before her opponent faces her. Juli reaches much the same conclusion of the site as Hinata does--though the steep drop provides as much of an opportunity for the girl as a challenge. If Hinatao starts to yammer too much, Juli can just simply toss her over. Dressed in neither her school uniform, nor the Shadaloo gear she's yet to wear outside of Shadaloo base, Juli's decked out in a red halter top that shows off her figure, and a pair of denim shorts. Light, casual wear for the near opressive humidity and heat about her, Juli seems oblivious to the small cloud of biting insects they're collecting as well. One of the larger warm blooded mammals in the area, and certainly the only ones unprotected by a decent layer of thick fur, the insects that've already scouted them out are certainly going to get a nice meal by the time this is done.
Hinata slaps at a mosquito intent on playing its little vampire bit, but she's not having any of it. A bottle of some viscous yellow liquid is retrieved from her backpack, which she bothered to wear through the airport, on the plane, and all the way up the steps. But hey, it had her energy drink in it! "Nice to meet you, Juli!" Hinata offers, taking a swig of her honey lemon and tea concoction. She draws a deep breath and looks out over the treetops. "Beautiful isn't it? It's the first time I've been to this continent." With a smile and a light knock on the side of her head, she sticks her tongue out. "Though now I've forgotten what country we're in. But that doesn't make it any less beautiful!" She isn't the least bit tired from having climbed up the entire pyramid of steps in glorious and energetic ways, through even to her the heat is starting to get a little oppressive. A bead of sweat draws on her forehead, though obviously not from nerves.
Well then, on to business! The Sunshine Girl replaces the plastic bottle in her back and limbers up a little. At last she cranes her neck from side to side, then offers Juli a friendly handshake. "Best of luck to you! Should we get started before we both get eaten by bugs? And me without my bug spray.."
COMBATSYS: Hinata has started a fight here.

The girl gives the trees another look, eyes scanning off in the distance over the canopy of trees. There's a faint mutter under her breath, something about 'feels like home' then her attention turns back to her foe for this fight. "This is Mexico." Juli explains briefly. And then, time for social is over. Straightening her back, and narrowing her eyes in a flat sort of stare, Juli walks to the center of the small platform to meet you. After an awkward second or two, it becomes clear that Juli has no intention of returning the handshake, but she does allow a small nod before stepping back into an offensive posture.
Moving her weight in a rocking motion from foot to foot, Juli brings a hand up in a striking position, her other one left lower down in a defensive posture. A shift of her foot and then Juli's forward again, starting the fight with a sidekick to her opponent's chest.
COMBATSYS: Juli has joined the fight here.

Well jeez, just leave Hinata hanging there, Juli. Sheepishly, the girl keeps her hand out for a moment before realizing there is no friendly handshake forthcoming. She tries to pass it off with a mild cough and instead uses the hand to slick back some of her hair which immediately falls back to brush her forehead. "Ahem..."
Bringing her own fists up and hopping back and forth, Hinata gets ready. Her own stance is loose, fists raised to chest high and her entire body not rocking but literally bouncing back and forth on the balls of her feet as if she can't even bear the thought of standing still.
The opening attack is quick, but not wholly unexpected. Strong silent type, eh? Hinata lifts her own leg up high to buffer the impact against her thigh and calf. She's quite limber when it comes down to it. If Juli's going to be all stoic and stone-faced, it's almost in Hinata's job description to be inversely chatty. Seriously, there's probably a clause in there somewhere. "Ha! Starting us off? Alright then!" Executing a short hop-step backwards, but carefully not too far, the Sunshine Girl thrusts her right palm forward quickly for an open-handed strike. But at the last moment, a flare wells up from her entire forearm, shining yellow like the sun itself with gently fanned blades around it. Petals, like a sunflower. "Kiyaaaa!"

No, Juli's certainly not the talking type during a fight. One would say that Juli's not the talky type in .general. but she at least returned Hinata's greeting and whatnot, a token politeness that she rarely affords people she knows she's going to fight, best to let them do the talking while she focuses on finding an opening on her target. Of course, Juli had to break that tradition, and she ends up paying for it. Sidestepping to avoid what seems a simple palm thrust, Juli's caught off guard when it turns into a projectile. Yes, that's definately what she gets for being nice, so no more of that.
Staggering backwards, Juli considers the temple roof they're standing on for a moment, then sends her foot down .hard, actually sending her leg through the first layer of bricks. It's all to break them up of course, so she has something to counter Hinata with if this projectile tossing is going to continue. For now, Juli focuses warily on the girl, looking for an opening in the fast moving target.

"Whoa, hey! Easy on the national monuments!" Hinata chides, though her eyes are as large as dinner plates at the stomping kick that shatters stone. Honestly, it had never occurred to her to try any of that karate brick-breaking stuff because, well, what had bricks ever done to her?
Her confidence rides a notch higher than usual from the good strike she managed with the Kikou Shoutei, but something in the back of her mind reminds her not to get cocky. Especially considering Taiyo schoolgirls are generally, though not always, less resilient than stone. She doesn't want to be on the receiving end of one of Juli's kicks.
Hopping back and forth, Hinata decides the best defense is a good offense. Someone wise had said that to her, or maybe she'd heard it somewhere. Maybe on TV. Quickly she crouches low and lunges toward Juli to grab her by the wrist and give her a quick throwdown to meet the ground, gratefully toward the *center* of the massive stone pyramid. Looking down over the edge, that's not a fall she'd wish on anyone.

Well, that sort of works, problem is Juli's not too shabby at rolling with throws. It seems that no sooner does the silent girl get tossed that she's already tucking into a roll, one that carries to her feet a scant second after hitting the ground. With scant time spent brushing herself off, Juli nods her head quickly at Hinata's direction, acknowledging the success she's been having with Juli so far.
It's success that Juli fully intends on correcting, however. Since she has a good amount of the platform to play with, Juli goes airborne, confident in her timing that she won't go flying off of the edge. It's a simple leaping kick, one leg thrust outwards while the other one's tucked in. Or, perhaps, not so simple considering the blood red aura that surrounds it. Having had a taste of Chi, Juli returns it with Psychopower. Energy that will no doubt help make sure Juli doesn't meet a messy end by overshooting her mark and jumping .off. the monument.

Tsk. And here Hinata was hoping the throw might take a little of the starch out of Juli's shorts, but no, she just rolls with it like it was nothing. And the *last* thing she would expect as a counter on a cramped fighting square high atop a very nasty terraced fall would be a flying jumpkick. Which is exactly what she gets right in the stomach with a flare of... chi?
No. Hinata's not much of an experty in all the metaphysical junk of being able to analyze someone's fighting skills by 'tasting' their chi alone, but even she can tell that there's something definitely very odd about it. How it kind of crackles, tingles like getting an electric shock, and naturally, hurts quite a hell of a lot on top of the boot in the stomach.
"Uuuunnnngh!" she says with clear articulation of her feelings at the time. The force is enough to drive her skidding backwards on the stone pyramid's top, feet planted firmly but somehow not managing to hold anything that would stop her any time soon. She trips, staggers, and tumbles backwards and only by scrabbling her fingers into the hewn stone is she saved from going very much off the side. As it is, the heels of both shoes are over the edge, but the Wakaba girl managed to avoid disaster. For now.
"HEY! This thing is really dangerous, y'know?!" she double-takes to the edge of the clear platform, then back to Juli. Then without a moment's pause for further chatting, she pushes forward and into a diving roll to close the distance. The lightweight schoolgirl untucks from the somersault only a few feet in front of Juli and at the last moment makes shuffling step to one side before bringing her right fist powerfully upward in a spiral, a move familiar to anyone who's seen Ansatsuken. But at the same time, it has her own unique spin to it, no pun intended. Coursing around her body are powerful red sputters of flame, real chi this time.

That's sort of the point. To end the fight by tossing the girl off of the pyramid--a ring out counts as a win, right? As Juli gains her footing again, she watches Hinata manage to scramble her way to a halt, just short of falling off the pyramid and depriving Juli of satisfaction right here and there. Oh well, Juli didn't quite expect it to work that well. Maybe next time.
And then Hinata steps away from the brink, depriving Juli of even the .hope. she might fall off. Double Pity. Shifting her stance to greet the girl's charge, Juli keeps an eye on the girl as she dives and rolls the rest of the way towards her. What's this? Trying to knock Juli down like that? It looks almost like an attack she's played around a bit with Juni on their off time. It's only at the last moment that Juli realizes what the girl is .really. up to, and that Juli isn't the only one capable of suddenly reversing their momentum that way. Juli's reminded tihs in the crudest way possible, of course, a near bullet of girl and chi slamming into Juli's chest and sending her staggering backwards. At least Juli gets to keep her balance, that's about the only dignified thing about it. Oh yeah, and needless to say it .hurt. quite a bit.
Shaking her head clear of the jarring impact, Juli eyes the girl for a moment, then charges forward again. Rather than going airborne though, Juli simply tries to grab the girl by the back of her head and force her face down on the stone floor.

When the doll takes hold of Hinata's hair (which is totally not cool, by the way!), Hinata twists against the grab. It's rather like trying to pick up a cat that doesn't particularly want to be picked up. But the hair is firmly in hand and the only way free is to gain a sudden and rather unsightly bald spot.
As her face is about to meet a very unforgiving stone floor, Hinata slaps her palms against the ground loudly before her head has a chance to personally greet it. With a powerful pushup, she rebounds from the throw, but unfortunately Juli still has a hold on her hair! Her *hair!*
Throwing herself into a full and unexpected handstand, the Taiyo student scissors both legs up into the air to lock around Juli's midsection and carry both fighters into a forward roll. And if all goes well, Juli should hit first and that'll loosen her grip on Hinata's head.

Well, it's good for making the agressive girl to let go of Hinata's hair, she even lets go of it without tearing out a huge chunk of hair, something that undoubtedly makes Hinata happy. That's about all it's good for, as Juli simply ceases to be where Hinata wants her to be.
That's probably another one of those embarrasing moments, as Hinata's legs close around thin air, but Juli's good natured and doesn't bother to gloat about it, she even lets Hinata raise to her feet, bobbing from side to side on her feet while she watches the girl raise, tanding up .does. make her a better target, after all. Once Hinata's upright though, Juli bounces forward once, then twists in midbounce to swing her entire body around. Using the momentum of that sudden reverse, Juli brings her hand around in a back handed fist towards Hinata's stomach, her hand all but crackling with the same energy that was around her foot earlier. Hey, at least she's leaving the hair alone, right?

-* CRITICAL HIT! *-

Hinata 1/--=====/=======|=======\-------\1 Juli
Well, at least her hair's not in danger anymore! Hinata pushes herself into a handstand and pivots on one palm before finally righting herself and bringing her fists back up. Well, half a success is better than none at all. Juli's not pulling on her hair anymore, so that'd good, yeah?
Then Juli immediately starts in with the hitting and stuff again, but the Sunshine Girl is soooo ready! "Shoooou-" she starts, putting out her left hand to stop the spinning backwards knuckle and bring her own fist up to Juli's chin.
... And hit's all of jack squat. There's that funky not-quite-chi again and it frankly catches her by surprise. The impact is stronger than even a fully-bodied back knuckle would be, driving Hinata's blocking palm straight back where it came from and crashing painfully into her side. Not only does the blazing energy burn, but there is a distinct and not at all healthy *CRACK* sound from her lowest ribs. Hinata's entire body just gives under the blow, knocking her cleanly sideways off both feet and tumbling like a ragdoll.
Straight off the edge.
It's not really as dramatic as all that, a 90 pound Japanese schoolgirl tumbling down 30 sharp-edged stone steps before finally having enough sense or sheer dumb luck to come to a stop on a step's edge, one arm limply hanging over the edge. The momentum had dissipated nicely into the soft tissues in her arms, legs, and face. Laying face-up and staring straight into the sun, Hinata barely stirs before coughing once and tasting something unpleasantly like someone had stuck a handful of pennies in the back of her throat. Her left arm raises weakly into the air, pointing generally but not quite accurately toward the top of the pyramid and the now out of sight Juli. "... okay.. now I'm mad..." she sputters before the arm gives out and flops back to hit her in the face. Insult to injury. "... I'm just going to lie her for a minute, okay? Okay."

Hinata 1/--=====/=======|=======\-------\1 Juli
Coming to a sudden stop after focusing all of her force into Hinata's stomach, Juli watches impassively as the girl goes bouncing down the stairs, causing even more damage to the body she felt break under her assault. After sucking up far more damage than she felt was right, Juli's finally got the upper hand. Of course, any reaction Juli might have to this new turn of events is lost on the Hinata... that young girl has far more important things in mind, like not snapping her neck while she goes falling down the stairs. And then Juli hears Hinata's voice asking for Juli's permission to take a break. No. Not it's not okay, and Juli certainl doesn't give Hinata permission to slack off in the middle of a fight. While Juli's certainly not about to go down the stairs to fight the girl, she still has a few options left to her. Woefully devoid of projectiles, Juli has to make her own, like those stones she smashed up with her feet. Hinata .does. remember those, doesn't she? Or does the fact that Juli's standing on the edge of the pyramid with a good half dozen or so of the rocks in her arms come as a surprise?
Dropping her load of rocks, Juli looks down at the girl so far below her, then hefts a rock up to test its weight by bouncing it in her hand. "Do you submit?" The girl asks, only the clearness of her voice and the relative calm of the jungle letting her voice carry that far... her monotone voice certainly isn't raised that high.
Hinata blearily sits up, eyes having some difficulty focusing. Wait. Give up? This seems to light a fire under her. No! She wasn't giving up! Maybe having a quick lie down, but certainly not give up! What's a few broken ribs, a sprained ankle, a few wrenched joints, and what certainly feels like a rip in the back of her undwear to giving up? NOTHING, that's what!
With great effort she tries to execute a flipping jump-up, fails, and just grips tightly to the rock edges for support. "No!" she calls back, using her free hand to shade her eyes. "I don't submit! I just... need a second, that's all!"
Juli acknowledges that with a slight nod. "I didn't think so." the girl replies in the same monotone voice, the same voice she uses from making an order at the local (Well, local in Japan .. certainly not local in Mexico) fast food burger joint, to the occasional death threat. "You might want to get up very fast. I hear the ants in this area are known to carry heavily injured humans to their hives and eat them alive."
And that's when the rain of rocks start, each projectile tossed down at the helpless girl wtih all the strength Juli's deceptively slender arms have to offer.

Hinata 1/-======/=======|=======\-------\1 Juli
Oh, sure, any decent fighter would have let Hinata at least get back up to the platform before starting in on this again. But perhaps the Wakaba girl is just spoiled from fighting people who don't go to every length to win. Maybe it's her fault for having a skewed world view about these things.
Or maybe Juli just is a bitch and it's as simple as that. The world may never know. With her eyes shaded, Hinata sees something leave the top of the stepped pyramid and head towards her. What is that? Then the rock cracks powerfully a few steps down having whistled very closely by her head. Oh, no she didn't.
"Orrrrrrrrrrryaaaaaaaaaa!" Hinata screams, welling up all of the energy she has left. The only way to stop this ridiculous mini-Indiana Jones onslaught is to get to the top and stop it personally. The heavy brown leather Taiyo backpack gets whipped off and held firmly over her head to deflect tiny flying objects, then used like a paddle to whack at the larger ones and send them off to the side and away from Hinata's already damaged body. In the end, she winds up doing more damage to herself than Juli's flying rock rain does, stumbling and leaping up the stone steps to reach the top as fast as possible. She scrapes her shin roughly once, slips and knocks her elbow another, but finally makes it within a few steps of the top and just mentally says 'screw it all' and leaps upward with all she's got to cross the final distance.
"You've got fairness issues, lady!" she cries in midair, then whips her backpack around and back on securely. In the same motion, she starts to tumble then spin, legs spread wide and twirling like helicoper blades that burst into bright orange-red flames. "Ichi, ni.. SAN!" she counts the steps aloud, each time snapping her foot around with an extra flare of chi to punctuate the strikes.
COMBATSYS: Juli dodges Hinata's Enbukyaku.

No, fairness really isn't one of Juli's traits. It's not that Juli openly cheats or anything, but nobody ever told her not to take advantage of a fallen foe. She'd make a rather poor Shadaloo Assassin if she was the least bit in giving an opponent with a distinct disadvantage a break after all. Besides, she .did. give Hinata a chance to surrender before Juli started raining rocks down on the girl's head. And not a single one did any real damage to the girl anyways. Still, Juli's not making her rapid ascent the least bit easy.
And then the girl's back in the fight, facing Juli with all the agression speed and strength the girl can muster. It might even be impressive, if a single one of those blows actually managed to hit. Instead, Juli's left to do her own little count, "Reido, Reiten, Rei." as every undoubtedly bone crushing kick hits nothing more substancial than the air.
When Hinata finally comes to a stop, Juli's ready to make her move. Vaulting forward to plant her hands on the ground, Juli springs up again and tries to wrap her long legs around Hinata's neck. What happens after that should be fairly obvious... if she can't make the rocks meet Hinata's head, she'll make Hinata's head meet the rocks.
COMBATSYS: Hinata dodges Juli's Hooligan Suplex.

Hinata 1/-======/=======|=======\-------\1 Juli
Juli's flying leg tackle is really spectacular, only when it's about to hit... Hinata's not there. One advantage about being short, maybe, is that you're slightly harder to hit. Also being lightweight helps in moving fast. So as Juli is airborne, Hinata ducks and rolls foward so that the two fighters pass each other harmlessly, one straight over the other.
It doesn't even take much of a roll to put Hinata firmly in the center of the pyramid platform, the safest distance from *any* of the edges and another uncomfortable fall. And if Hinata's in the middle, then that means Juli can't be. So... double bonus there.
The Taiyo girl is looking a little ragged, to be sure. Slyly, she reaches around behind her and feels. Oh, yeah, great. A hole in her underwear. Mom is going to be so happy about that one. Oh yeah, and the broken ribs too, but oddly enough Hinata has a feeling that she'll be on about the torn up clothes. Ribs heal. Clothing doesn't. Funny, that.
"You're good," she offers seriously, raising her fists and banging them together once to jar a bit of focus into her vision. She holds back for now, studying Juli. Perhaps it was risky to dive headlong without really knowing who her opponent is or how she fights, but it's a little late now, isn't it? Or perhaps not...

Well that didn't end up the way Juli wanted it to at all. As soon as she's on her feet, Juli pivots around to face the young girl, directing her stare on her bruised and battered form as she slowly circles around away from the edge of the pyramid. Having already seen the effects of that long drop, Juli's in no real hurry to test it out herself.
At least Hinata gets a chance to relax. Juli put a little too much in that last attack, and she's starting to feel the affects of it... in short, she's geting sloppy, the missed throw testament to that. Hinata certainly isn't going anywhere, and Juli's confident another solid hit will take all the fight out of her. Better to make sure that last hit actually lands.
COMBATSYS: Juli focuses on her next action.

So, both fighters are holding their stances, waiting for the other to make a move and hoping to anticipate it. For a long moment, the top of the pyramid is still and silent, the last of Juli's rock attack clattering the long fall down to the base. If only Hinata had thought to bring a Slinky with her...
In a flash, the scene flicks back to motion, Hinata spurred to action by the single cry of a jungle bird far in the distance. Now! Do it now!
An unborn scream rises in the back of Hinata's throat but is choked back into something of a coarse growl of exertion. "Grrrrrrrrrraaaaa!" She pivots in a backwards spin in place, drawing the sole of her right shoe in a wide circle in front of her, serving no purpose but to get Juli to look down for even a fraction of a second.
Then she's off like a shot, closing the distance with sprinter's speed and positively burning with energy. "Ora ora ora ora ora ora!" Hinata's left arm jabs out punches faster than she can even be bothered to count quickly following with an upwards elbow, but the furious assault is far from over. Not even waiting, the Sunshine Girl lashes out with a powerful roundhouse brimming with the burning energy unique to Taiyo's finest, arcing in a broad but distinctly colorful swath of chi trailing her heel and lifting her up off the ground. Her other foot follows the first, then again, and again, and again as fast as she can force her battered frame to move. "BUUUUUUUURN!"

Hinata 0/-------/-----==|=======\===----\1 Juli
And that's when it all turned very, very badly for Juli. Facing the onslaught of fists and furious punching, Juli's intent on knocking the girl down and keeping her there, of course just because Juli wants something to happen, doesn't mean it's likely to happen at all. To be honest, ths speed of that attack was more than sufficient to throw the girl completely off guard, and trying to counter it was probably the last thing she should have done.
But that's what she decided to do after all--and boy did she pay the price for it. The flip side of psychopower causing serious harm to chi users is that psycho power responds just as nicely to Chi... which is to say that aside from being pummeled by enough feet and kicks to ensure that Juli's going to be seeing them in her nightmares for a while, that extra bit of incompatability makes it all the more unpleasant. When it's all said and done, Juli's barely managing to push herself back to her feet. Slow and wobbly, Juli's most definatly a sitting target--she just hopes the next attack isn't nearly as fast as the last. If it is, Juli's going to go through the proverbial 'snatching defeat through the jaws of victory'.
Hinata's blood start to burn, chi energy boiling through her body on top of desperation and adrenaline. It's a fairly lethal but exhilirating cocktail. The only way she can even seem to breathe is through clenched teeth, huffing quick but deep lungfuls of warm humid jungle air.
"Hut!" The girl lunges down to the pyramid's surface and the few scattered stones from Juli's stomping tantrum before, siezes a baseball sized chunk of rock and hurls it. Straight up. Well, that's not any way to hit an opponent, is it?
But as gravity sits up to take notice of the chunk of stone going upwards and finally telling it quite firmly that it can't stay there and has to go back down sometime, the rock turns around and starts to fall. "TA!" the girl says and spins in place to roundhouse kick at the air. Again, not a very effective way of hitting someone, kicking at the air from a distance. But with a resounding clap, the rock impacts with the heel of Hinata's oversized hightop trainers and gets another lesson in momentum, rocketing it in a straight line toward Juli's head.
COMBATSYS: Hinata successfully hits Juli with Thrown Object.

Beaned in the head with a rock, Juli's still standing. That's all that's she's got going for her at the end of this fight however... Battered, bruised and really not having much fight left in her, Juli can now add a thin trickle of blood running down her right eye, the one that her hair isn't currently covering up, to her list of damage.
Breathing heavily, Juli slumps forward with her hands on her knees. Funny, those roles were reversed not too long ago after all. At least she's not begging for a break like the other girl was. After a second or two of this, Juli reaches a hand up to brush her hair away from her face. There, now Juli can see again ... mostly.

A momentary grip of conscience strikes Hinata. Catching a rock upside the head didn't do Juli any favors just then, but hey, when *she* went tumbling off the side of a giant stepped stone pyramid, Juli started throwing rocks at her! It's as if two mini-Hinata's appear briefly on her shoulders, a devil and an angel, and are debating the salient points of pressing the fight now that Juli's down as opposed to letting her get back to her feet and fight fairly.
With another growl, it seems the decision is made. Sorry Juli, but Devil-Hinata made a very persuasive argument. Broken ribs are no way to keep going in a fight and it's only a matter of time before all that lovely adrenaline wears off and she'll really start feeling it. So, better to end it fast so she can seek medical attention.
Hinata draws both fists back to her hips and draws a long breath. Then a loud kiai breaks the stillness of the jungle once more, and the birds are again disturbed and wonder why these people can't just be quiet for once. "KIIIYAAAAA!" Using the entire motion of her body, she thrusts both palms forward, each one flaring independently with shining yellow chi until Hinata slaps them together in front of her, joining the two chi balls together into one quite large one and firing it off with such effort that she has to take a bracing step backwards.
COMBATSYS: Juli blocks Hinata's Kikou Shoutei.

Hinata 0/-------/----===|=======\=====--\1 Juli
Where Hinata has little demons and angels whispering in her ear to tell her what to do, Juli only has drive and determination. It's enough to keep her going despite everything that Hinata throws at her, so she'll take it and leave the moral quandries for others. It's even enough to handle .this. attack, a metric buttload of chi thrown in her direction, two balls becoming one and crashing down on the girl's seemingly defenseless body. Or, not defenseless enough it seems. Once again, Juli's drive keeps her on her feet. Very shaky, unsteady feet -- but on her feet nonetheless.
And now she's had it with Hinata. Once Juli realizes her feet still work for standing up, she pushes them into working for running, then dropping. Rather than falling down though, Juli's body flares up in another burst of psychopower, propelling her forward in a low spiral, her body picking up bits of rock and dust in a small dust cloud around her.
COMBATSYS: Juli successfully hits Hinata with Spin Drive Smasher.

Hinata 1/------=/=======|==-----\-------\0 Juli
Both fighters are ragged. The fight is coming down to desperation moves. So it's when Juli comes in for a low spiralling tackle (and again with that weird not-quite-chi), Hinata wants to move but just can't muster the strength and speed to get out of the way.
The drill kick hits her sharply in the shins and bowls Hinata over forward which only serves to drive her bodily into the dust, rock, and psychopower spiral. Though it really doesn't bear full and horrifying description, the Wakaba girl gets hit, powerfully and repeatedly.
But so help her, if she's going down, so is Juli! It's not very sportsmanlike, but not even waiting for Juli to fully recover and get back to her feet, Hinata throws the last of her energy into a kick to the back of Juli's knee, then a powerful forward punch with both fists engulfed in the last reserves of her chi. It's a desperate strike, but hopefully just powerful enough to topple Juli's balance and let her see how fun it is to tumble down a stone pyramid in Mexico! Here's a hint, not a lot!
And just when she thinks she has the girl taken care of.. *WHAM* right in the back of her head.
Team Juli, blasting off again!
Or is that blasting down? And down and .. ow*thud*Rollbounce**SNAP*rollroll*bounce* *Growl* *THUMP* That final thump, of course, being Juli landing on the ground at the foot of the steps. The snap? Probably an arm, probably a leg .. she's still growling up a storm as she continues falling down the stairs, so it's unlikely to be her neck.
In a way, Juli wishes it was her neck. If it was, the rest of those bounces probably wouldn't have hurt so much.
No, Juli's not getting up any time either. Fortunately, there's a rescue med team on standby. Otherwise, they'd both be nibbled to death in the lair of the man eating ant.
COMBATSYS: Juli has ended the fight here.
